Shapeshifters in WWIV: A Roleplay (Celebrating Ten Years!)

Personality- Mariana is a strong, semi confident young adult that has a sharp tongue. She has a hard outer exterior, but in reality she is traumatized from her childhood and is too afraid to get help with fear that the RK for it. The twins have a calming affect on her, which is why she likes to be with them.

Past- She was born to a poor family in Spain that was unable to feed and clothe the 6 kids they already had. They sold her to the RK who took her to a lab in England where they tested on her for years. While there, she befriended a Chinese SS that taught her to speak English. Eventually, they fell for each other and came up with a plan to escape. When they began executing the plan, he was killed before they could make it out leaving Mariana to escape on her own. She wandered around the world for awhile before stumbling upon a newly bitten Shifter and his panicked twin. She took them both to a base of the WK and they somehow began traveling together.
Other- Has a clothes chip, can speak English, Chinese (but not write), and broken Spanish from her childhood. While she does not consider herself to be the WK's team, Mariana leans closer to their side of the war. She does side jobs and takes Shifters in need of help to them when she finds them. In return, they aid her in her travels and provide her with information as well as funds to continue helping them.

Personality- he is a reckless boy who really only cares for his sister, and Mariana. He'd much rather see himself hurt than his companions, not because he sees them as weak but simply because he feels responsible for their wellbeing. He is straightforward, preferring not to sugarcoat things if he doesn't need to.

Past- Camden was born to a soldier in the RK, but disagreed with the way they treated Shifters. So, when he was 15 he and his sister ran away, defecting from the Red Kingdom and looked for help in the White Kingdom. However, in his travels, a dog attacked his sister and he saved her by pushing her out of the way. It bit him and he later on found out that the dog was Shifter. Mariana found him during his sickness and took them both to the WK, and they all ended up sticking together.

Personality- is a stubborn, but gentle teenage girl. She is a genius, able to think up strategies on the fly and all of the paths they may take, good or bad then deciding which course would be best to take. Despite the maturity that usually comes with this, she still does have her teenage moments every now and then. She feels very guilty for her past and made it her goal to help every Shifter who's life was affected by the RK.

Past- she was born to a soldier in the WK, but unknown to her brother, because she was a tested genius at the age of 10, Aspen was forced to come up with some of the tests that further moved the RK along their path. She was also taken along to meetings to translate for them. She was the one who came up the plan for her and Camden to escape from the RK.
Other- She can speak English, German, French, Spanish, and Japanese. Because she picks up on languages rather easily, she can understand but not speak Latin, Italian, and many other languages.

Boris nodded slowly. That sounded about right. "Well then, we'll just have to make sure you take advantage of your current situation," he said, a mischievous light shining in his eyes. He said this because that was exactly what he was doing. As stated before, there wasn't much to do while spending your days lying in bed, waiting for wounds and injures to heal. In his case, they might never fully heal. So he made sure to use his current situation to the fullest potential.

Nichole walked over to open the door, more than surprised to see Ava standing in front of her. "Ava?" she asked, quickly looking up and down the hall. "What are you doing? Does your dad know you're here?" Surely, Donald wouldn't have let his daughter come and visit her if he was still mad. But if he did know of Ava's whereabouts, then maybe that was a good sign. Maybe he was finally calming down.

(Gotcha. I didn't know how much he would have been trained, so I didn't want to assume too much. I know he's smarter than normal kids his age, but I didn't know how far his knowledge reached.)

Christoph hesitated a moment. He had figured his grandfather would have made sure the area was safe. However, it looked like that fell upon him. Concentrating, the boy focused on shifting from human to bear. A few grunts of pain later, he had managed the change. He looked around, taking things in from his new perspective. Once he had sorted out a few basic smells and sounds, he went to work, sniffing around the ground and underbrush for any traces of anything that might be harmful to them.

Kurt raised an eyebrow, but before he could respond a sudden and seemingly unprovoked stab of pain flashed through his chest. He grimaced, managing to hold in the gasp that bubbled beneath his lips, and grasped for the morphine control next to his bed, upping the dosage. "What do you mean?" he asked through his teeth, trying to distract himself.

The girl ducked underneath Nichole's arm and into her room as soon as she saw the opportunity. "My name's not Ava," she said in her native South German accent, shifting from hugging herself to crossing her arms. "It's Anja."

Möer waited, watching the bear cub amble around, never moving from where he stood. He suspected the area would be quite safe, as when he had passed through this forest he had never once caught wind of any bears, but this would be a good learning experience for the boy.

Aspen, or, as she went by, Ash, kept her head low, looking for an alleyway. Luckily Maple bought her a new phone, and gave her another wallet... She had been honest, for once, and it got her a phone to replace the one she lost.
