( yoo i might disappear sometime soon it's like half four in the morning oops on the other hand i aint remotely tired )
Okay, so, most of that conversation went entirely over Alex's head. I mean, he maybe had some vague memory of this play being mentioned once While he wasn't void of appreciation for theatre, he wasn't much of a reader himself, and any reading analysis of his didn't go beyond whatever they'd ever had to do in class. However, it was sort of nice to see Tori in her element - and clearly it had been enough to get Oliver out of his shell a bit. Win-win. Yeah, okay, maybe hearing someone who completely understood whatever was being talked about while he had no clue was a little jealousy-inducing, but while there were some not-so-pleasant aspects of his own personality that Alex accepted and embraced, this part wasn't one of them, and he quashed it inside of him.
Glancing up as the bell rang, his eyes flicked over to Tori - a look of pleading. Lunch felt all too short. He didn't want to be in class, and frankly if he had been alone it would have been all to easy to decide to skip there and then. Of course, the frustration that made him want to skip was perpetuated by said skipping, but whatever. He could save his problems for whenever he decided to get his act together.

( private schools is just yeah...smaller schools so less students, and you have to pay to get in and they have uniforms etc, but they usually have a lot of cool extra stuff that public schools don't have bc of all the money they get. )

( o !! nice !! unicorn land is a good land. ok well im skipping regardless bc im a Terrible Person (^: )
When the day's classes were done, Oliver was nothing short of relieved. He grabbed what he needed and made sure he was okay for everything, and then exited the school. The fresh air hit him and he inhaled deeply, glad that he was finally free for the weekend. Man. Fridays really did drag on, didn't they?
He walked over to where his motorbike was parked. It was easier to run and he'd learned to drive one, and therefore he rode one. Since his mother had the car and his father still felt guilty enough to pay for insurance on this for him, he couldn't complain. It was a good ride. He took a moment to ensure that the wheels weren't stuck to the ground - and found, pleasantly, that there wasn't actually ice underneath the snow. A bonus was that he could see from here that the roads were gritted. He pulled his leather jacket from his bag and shrugged it on, and leaned against his bike as he once again read through his texts
Truth be told, he had nothing to do after school. He could go and do his homework, but without work or the like, he didn't particularly feel like doing it. Homework was for when work was really slow and/or overstaffed. Homework at home just meant that it would end up lost or stolen or possibly shredded, depending on the mood of the bird.
His breath billowed out in a cloud of white, and he passed a hand over his face. He'd take a moment or two to recover from classes before he headed home, considering that riding his bike required some level of concentration, and he felt like he could do none right now.

☃️OOC:☃️ Text
☃️IC:☃️ Ah yes, after school. Norman had to wait for his brothers to come pick him up now, and it would be awhile, sure it was a little boring spending the extra time at the school, especially when it got colder and harder to go outside, but he had plenty of things to entertain himself in his backpack, and so, outside the school, he was seated on the staircase by the front doors, leaning against his backpack for balance while he had a large sketchbook in his lap and was idly sketching away, hopefully working on some doodles for his own graphic novel would busy him until he could go home, and besides-he needed to work on the next chapter soon if he wanted to keep on his schedule and not fall behind on updating the web comic...which did start out as sketches on paper, and then went through many processes before a page was complete.

Tori left as fast as she could out of her last class, avoiding the theatre for as long as she could. She had told Mr. Harrison that she wasn't feeling well and stayed in the nurses for the next two classes. She sighed, breathing in the cold winter air. Her house was about a ten minutes walk away, but she knew that she would be in trouble if she wasn't in rehearsals. Mr. Harrison excused her because she feigned being sick, but if her mother found out she used that as an excuse she knew she would be grounded for a good while. Her mother was completely obsessed with her becoming the next Broadway star. She paused at the stairwell, deciding that she could hit the school library before she went home, maybe check out a few of Ibsens plays and read them before going home.
She glanced around, watching the masses of people, giving Norman a friendly hello. Her eyes fell on Oliver, and she offered him a friendly smile, but didn't approach him. Not quite yet. She didn't want to seem too over eager; Tori wasn't the best at making friends and didn't want to come off as weird or clingy. If he wanted to talk then he would talk to her.

☃️OOC:☃️ Text
☃️IC:☃️ Norman glanced over at Tori for a few seconds and muttered a "hello" back before he turned back to the sketchbook, he wasn't most for socializing, he already had two friends...which lived on the other side of the country, but still...he talked to them enough, he just didn't see them every day anymore. It was fine. The short teenager had already decided he didn't need any more friends, it wasn't like staying in this city was going to be a permanent thing, and so he just didn't see the point in being overly friendly with people.
Besides, he was busy, he had stuff he would much rather do than make friends. Even if it got a little lonely, considering his brothers were often gone at work or college, and they were the only other people he had...well, his brothers...and their dog Mel at least.

Just getting through the crowded hallways was a struggle for Skylar. She wasn't able to walk very fast, and so there were a lot of occasions where annoyed people sped around her, oftentimes nearly knocking her off of her already unsteady feet, not sparing a second of thought for the poor girl who walked with the aid of leg braces and crutches instead of being normal like everyone else. Sometimes, if she did fall, some kind soul would stop and help her find her feet again, but most of the time everyone just ignored her-- Skylar, the school's resident cripple.
Then there was Kane, who was the biggest [donkey] in the school. It was he who, ruthlessly, stuck out his foot as Skylar passed him in the hall, his foot hooking a crutch and deftly kicking it out from underneath her. With a yelp, Skylar crumpled to the ground, losing her balance on the cold, icy ground and landing rather awkwardly on her side. Groaning, she tried to get up, but as usual her stupid legs wouldn't support her weight. She felt her cheeks burn with humiliation.
Somewhere above her, Kane let out a ruthless laugh. "What's the matter, Four-legs? Looks to me like you just had a pretty nice trip!" He leaned on the crutch he'd stolen, leering down at his prey. Almost like he knew that Skylar couldn't even stand up without it.

When Oliver caught sight of Tori, he raised a single eyebrow and rummaged in his bag for only a moment before holding up what looked to be a thick stack of papers. He waved them lightly as if to say 'if you want them, you'll have to get them yourself', and tilted his head to the side to listen to people here and there.
He wasn't someone who got involved with things, and so he simply closed his eyes and blocked out whatever was happening around him. His bike was a sturdy weight behind him, and his phone buzzing in his pocket was a reminder that he had to head home eventually. His foot tapped lightly on the snowy ground. If he was cold by how few layers he was wearing (he wasn't), then he didn't show it.

Tori was about to open her mouth to continue her conversation, stopping when she saw the thick stack of papers. Her entire body posture straightened, seeming to brighten at the thought of reading the paper, when she saw out of the corner of her eye Skylar falling down to the ground, Kane laughing over her. She felt aggravation overwhelm her- Kane was the resident bully, giving her a hard time with her problems with speaking English. She frowned, signing 'I'll be back' before realizing he didn't understand sign. She hesitated, putting up one finger before turning around towards the two.
"Hey, you idiot, give her crutches back," She snapped a little bit loudly, walking towards the two of them, arms folded as she went to confront them. She glanced at Skylar, leaning down to make sure she was alright, almost thankful she wasn't able to hear much so she could ignore his rude comments.

Tessa made her ways through the busy halls and out the front doors, her curly black hair all messy from doing practice in her MMA club, during her free off period. Tessa was the senior that, had never truly cleaned up her act, and was still constantly getting into trouble, and doing delinquent things, even though she was very intelligent and was known to be in the top five for her class. Though, colleges didn't really like her, or showed much interest in her due to her other troublesome qualities and flaws. Sighing a little to herself as she was shoved and justled by the myriads of students, she nearly tripped over a girl, that suddenly fell and landed in front of her.
"What the f--" She started to say before her grey eyes took in the situation, some boy was holding one of the strangers crutches hostage, and another girl was walking over to yell at him. Frowning, she looked from Skylar, to the guy before she stood between the two, and reached her hand out to the boy, hinting that she wanted him to hand her the crutches. "I believe those don't belong to you..."

☃️OOC:☃️ Text
☃️IC:☃️ Norman paused, looking over at the commotion with a scoff. He didn't like bullies-having known them very well for all his life, however...he also knew he was short, weak, scrawny, and he was useless against bullies, however he did decide to get up all the same, and started to walk over to Skylar, figuring, if anything else, he could help her out. So he put his book and pencil down beside his backpack and walked over to her. "Hey, you okay?" He asked her softly, ignoring the bully the best he could.

Alex didn't rush from his final class - not for want to stick around school or anything, but he usually caught the bus home, which was timetabled to arrive fifteen minutes after school ended, but was always inevitably delayed by weather. Not bad weather specifically, just, like, the existence of weather. In general. All of it.
Most people were already out of the building by the time he was there. Tori was among them, meaning she was likely avoiding rehearsals. Understandably, really. Late for the crutch-stealing incident, he stood back, for once a spectator. Oliver, too, was there, astride a motorbike (presumably his) and with a handful of papers (contents unknown - the details of the conversation between Tori and this new guy were already gone from Alex's mind). Most everyone else involved with the aforementioned incident, Oliver didn't really seem to be focusing on anything at all. Still, Alex nodded a greeting anyway, whether or not it went seen. The guy seemed nice enough, after all.

Skylar was very grateful when Tori came to her rescue. Faintly, she smiled at her, though her humiliation was clear on her face. Pain, too, though Skylar lived every day of her life in pain, so that was nothing new to her. Neither was Kane's bullying, but that wasn't going to change.
Kane snorted, his lip curling in a sneer. "Funny how it's the deaf kid who runs to help the cripple. You two should form a club for whiners. Nobody else would join, though." Smirking, he tossed the crutch down at Skylar's side. "You two aren't even worth my time anyway."

Tori felt her face burn with humiliation,"I'm not deaf," She muttered, Well. Not exactly. Not yet. Everything just sounds like it is coming through cotton. Not deaf. Deaf is silence. feeling tears prick at the back of her eyes for a moment, studying her hands before grabbing the crutches to help Skylar. "You alright? Don't let that..." She paused, signing the sign for donkey, "Get to you." She muttered, trying to help her. She had been enduring Kanes bullying for a year, and worse bullys before him. She hadn't talked to Skylar too much, she always was friendly with her, but, again, the only person she talked to was Alex. It was easier that way.
(RIP I'm sorry.)

Skylar watched Kane saunter away, her face still bright red. "Yeah, I'm okay. Scooping up the crutch she'd dropped, she worked it into an upright position, then the other. Using thrm for support, she managed to get onto her knees before she paused, already winded. Man, why did this have to be so hard? It would be nice to just stand up without pain and a lot of tiring effort.
Seeming to notice everyone else that had come tp her aid for the first time, she smiled, starting to feel a little better. "You know," she panted, "sometimes I really wish that my legs worked right, so I could kick him in the sensitive parts," she joked with a wary laugh.
