liesel wailes //
Oh Liesel understood. The time spent docked in this town would be short lived, because everything was short lived when you were living a pirate's life. There was no guarantee of anything, they couldn't stay one place too long, because word might get around about who you are and the things that you do. Yes, she understood. This was her life now too, it was time that she accepted the truth. There was no going back. Nobody was going to save her, she would never have guaranteed protection again, things had changed. From now on she was independent, more so than she'd been before, she would take of herself.
Liesel followed Tobias's gaze out towards the water, and she too saw the small sliver of land. This would be the first time she set foot on something solid since her kidnapping. The knowledge that in more or less than an hour she would be there - it was surreal.
"No," she shook her head sternly, "the clothes that I am wearing now suit me well, I would rather be in disguise." Her expression was determined, and perhaps even stubborn, mostly because she meant it. This was her life now, she had no reason to wear a dress with a restricting corset and heavy petticoats, it didn't fit her new lifestyle. It would just be easier if she pinned her hair up under her hat and stayed unnoticed, she could pass as a boy if she stayed quiet. She hoped that Tobias would understand, she had no use for pretty things and frilly clothes anymore.
//
The hour passed by quicker than she had expected, and soon the distant island was a somewhat busy port. Liesel leaned over the railing to get a better look, feeling a flutter of anticipation. She looked rather ordinary at the moment, with loose fitting clothes and a sword securely in its sheath. With her black hat pulled down low, her facial features were somewhat concealed. She looked just like everyone else.

Katarina Accardi A soft breeze swept through her chocolate-brown hair as the young, well-dressed, well-refined woman sat on a small bench on a clifftop overlooking the choppy ocean below. A parasol rested atop her shoulder, shielding her from the warm rays of sunlight that seeped through the patches of clouds overhead. This was her favorite place to be, with the sounds of the gentle lapping of the sea below and gulls squawking overhead filling her ears. This place, the simple bench in her garden, represented peace.
But when Katarina spotted a large, formidable ship heading for her small island town, the mood shifted. Excitement coursed through her veins, and a beaming smile came to rest on her face. She only knew of two men who frequented this island on a ship of that caliber: Sebastian and Tobias Serafin.
The billowing, white sails of the ship were almost deceiving, as one would not expect a merchant's ship to be occupied by a crew of looting pirates. But alas, the young woman knew better than to make assumptions. Surely the two men had not directed their crew to sail her way just for a reunification with an old..friend. No, Katarina assumed that, in addition to seeking her company, they needed to refuel and resupply.
As the ship drew near, the young debutante made her way down to the docks. Once the ship anchored, Katarina approached the vessel, beaming as she spotted two familiar faces. A young man, whom Katarina assumed was a member of the crew, recognized her and helped her aboard the large ship.
"Ah, Tobias!" she practically giggled, approaching the man gracefully and offering him both a light curtsy and her hand.
"Kat," he greeted, grinning from ear to ear as he unhesitatingly took her hand and placed a soft kiss upon the back of her palm, "what brings you down here? I didn't think you cared for the 'unsanitary conditions' of the docks."
"Oh, stop it, you," Katarina replied with a chuckle, waving a hand at the pirate dismissively, "it's not polite to mock a lady."
"Noted," Tobias responded simply, his blue eyes still sparkling with mirth.
Her attention shifted away from the captain, and her caramel-colored irises landed on an unfamiliar female who stood relatively close to Tobias. Katarina slightly narrowed her eyes in thought, and she took a couple of steps closer to the girl, smoothing her light blue gown as she did.
"Tobias, dear, is this your new play-thing?" A small, almost smug smirk tugged at the corners of her lips. "She's absolutely precious."
Before the elder brother had a chance to respond, Katarina had moved on. Her entire expression brightened noticeably as her eyes rested upon the younger of the Serafin brothers.
"Oh, Sebastian, darling!" she exclaimed grinning wildly as she practically ran the few paces over to him - which was quite a feat considering the shoes she had chosen to wear. She kissed each of his cheeks before she wrapped her arms around him, pulling the man in for a tight embrace - a gesture which was reciprocated without hesitation.
"Always a pleasure, Kat," the man replied with a laugh.
Other than the obviously-new addition to the crew, everything seemed to be exactly the way it had always been. But there was only room for one girl in the Serafin brothers' lives.
And Katarina Accardi did not intend to be replaced any time soon.

liesel wailes //
Now, Liesel had always found it quite difficult to maintain a ladylike reputation. She was always the one who was running instead of walking daintily, or the girl who would hike her skirts up so that she could wade out across the shore. She was use to the disdainful looks, the glares that uptight women often threw her way.
She had been known for her temper, something she had in common with her father, the sharp tongue and stubbornness.
When Liesel laid eyes on Kat it took a generous amount of discipline not to gag. Her blue eyes narrowed as she looked the other women up and down, a somewhat disgusted expression crossing her features. There was no denying that she was pretty, with a lovely blue gown that Liesel couldn't help but covet. She use to have dresses like that, and lovely shoes too. Gloves, hats, you name it. But now, Liesel was grimy with her own sweat. Her skin and clothes smelled like sea salt, which wasn't entirely unpleasant, but wasn't nearly as sweet like the rose oil that she use to wear.
When Kat took a step closer, and spoke to Tobias rather than her; oh, Liesel wanted nothing more than to slap her across the face. You could see her jaw tighten as she tried to resist. Play-thing? Look who was talking! The way she practically threw herself at both of the brothers, and how they seemed to enjoy it, she couldn't have been more repulsed.
She gave Sebastian a dirty look, mostly because she was annoyed that he too seemed happy to see the women dressed like a flouncy little peacock. Liesel cleared her throat rather loudly, taking a step forward whilst letting her hand rest on the hilt of her sword. "Not meaning to breakup this adorable little reunion, but don't we have more important things to do?" She gave Kat a haughty look before continuing, "I wasn't aware that we were docking to spend time with common riffraff."
Liesel could play the game too, she made that quite clear, looking the other women evenly in the eyes.

Katarina Accardi "Oh, how sweet! She thinks that threatening me with a sword scares me," the debutante chuckled almost menacingly, though the cadence of her voice somehow managed to maintain its smooth and almost silky quality. She referred, of course, to the fact that the other girl's hand rested upon the hilt of her sword. Taking a soft whiff of the air, she continued to speak. "You may want to consider bathing, dear, as you don't smell too appealing."
She then turned her attention back to Sebastian, raising an eyebrow curiously as she caught the glare that passed from the female to the younger brother.
"Is there something going on between the two of you?" Curiosity drove her question more than anything else.
Tobias decided to answer for his brother. "No, I don't believe so," he huffed before adding in a hushed tone, "honestly, I'm sure he'd take you back if you asked. The man never truly got over losing you."
"I'm right here, you know!" Sebastian snapped in irritation. Brusquely, the man crossed his arms over his chest as his eyebrows furrowed in agitation. Obviously he did not like where this conversation was headed.
"Oh, is that so?" Katarina inquired in amusement, seeming to ignore Sebastian's statement as she addressed his elder brother. "Well. I don't believe I would have him back. You see, he has quite the temper--"
"What, and you don't?" Sebastian practically demanded. "Honestly, Katarina."
"Oh, darling, stop that. You know how much I detest your use of my full name." That devilish little smirk - which consisted of simply the slight upturn of the corners of her lips coupled with a mischievous twinkle in her brown eyes - returned to her expression as she lightly shoved Sebastian's chest. It was not the most ladylike gesture, but the young woman knew him well enough to know that she could easily get away with it.
Her gaze flicked back to the female.
"I'm sorry, who are you again?"

liesel wailes //
"Threatening you?" Liesel laughed harshly, slowly drawing her sword from it's sheath. "Actually, this would be threatening you." She pointed the blade towards Kat with the slightest hint of a smirk, one foot crossing over the other. It was empowering to think that if she wanted to, she could easily shut up anyone with the weapon in her hand. But it was also not in her nature, she wasn't a murder, nor was she cruel enough to become one. She didn't want blood on her hands, it didn't matter who's it was.
She lowered the weapon and placed it back in it's sheath. It was difficult to do so. Despite the small amount of self-discipline she was managing to exhibit, there was only so much the young women could take. She was trying to be the bigger person, but was somehow failing miserably.
The body odor comment really wasn't necessary, that really was a petty insult. Liesel just couldn't let it go, really she couldn't. Her temper was just starting to boil, she had a ways to go before she got completely furious, but still.
"At least I'm not a filthy tramp." Liesel's tone was cutting but cool as she responded airily, raising one eyebrow in a satisfied sort of way. She found it amusing also, how quickly Kat inquired if something was "going on" between Sebastian and her, it made her almost smug.
But Tobias's response was even more surprising.
Kat and Sebastian? Liesel was awestruck. She would never had expected that, she figured the girl had more of a past with the older of the Serafin brothers, but Sebastian? She found that distasteful, utterly distasteful. So this - this extremely arrogant women - this was Sebastian's type? She was disappointed, not only because apparently his taste in women was poor (according to Liesel), but also because he hadn't even the courage to speak for himself, he just let Tobias walk all over him. And Tobias, she didn't even want to go there. He was trouble, that much was apparent, but that isn't the only thing that bothered her. Neither of the two men said anything; they just let Kat come sauntering onto their ship like she had every right to, flouncing about. It was revolting. But, by far, the worst thing was that they let her speak to Liesel in such a way; it made Liesel feel once again like a hostage in a foreign place.
Liesel made a sarcastic bow before introducing herself, all the while giving Kat a withering look. "Liesel Wailes, I would say it's a pleasure to meet you but that would be a lie, so I won't."

sorry this is rly bad but i just woke up & I'm really not feeling all that great Katarina Accardi
The young woman did not even flinch when this utter heathen, Liesel, pointed her blade in Katarina's direction. Was that the best she could do? Her caramel gaze flicked downward, and she could have sworn that she detected even a slight trembling of the girl's hand. An almost malicious chuckle escaped her lips, and she raised an eyebrow challengingly. Upon hearing the girl's "insult", she simply blinked in disbelief, as she honestly found herself a bit taken aback by Liesel's crass and rather brazen choice of words. How dare she speak to her in that manner?
Of course, Katarina recognized Liesel's surname. After all, she was one of her wealthy, seaside town's leading ladies. She had heard of the dreadful raid of Liesel's town, and about a young girl - about seventeen - who had been stolen from her family. All of the towns in a one hundred mile radius had received information regarding her description, and now that Katarina recalled this information, everything began to make sense. This girl was only a hostage, whereas Katarina never had been. Rather, she had practically grown up with the Serafin brothers, as her father was a dear friend of theirs.
"Is that honestly the best you can do? How disappointing," Katarina sneered, responding to Liesel's feeble attempt at vexing her. "I'm Katarina Accardi. I would offer you my hand to shake, but you seem rather..grimy, dear." A look of feigned concern passed over Katarina's features before she turned her attention back to Tobias.
"I can't take this anymore," Sebastian murmured under his breath, shaking his head in disgust and huffing a scoff. "Nice to see you, Kat, but I think I'll be going now." And with that, the man turned quickly and retreated in the direction of his chambers.
"Brooding, as always," Katarina practically sang, rolling her brown eyes before flicking her gaze back in Tobias' direction. "Well, darling, do you think you could spare some time to take me on a tour of this brilliant ship of yours?"
Tobias couldn't help but lightly laugh as Katarina spoke, and he offered the debutante his arm, which she took without the slightest hint of hesitation. And with that, the two of them were off, leaving Liesel alone on the main deck.
