liesel wailes //
"Excuse me?"
Liesel couldn't believe what she was hearing, it was honestly too much. Sebastian was acting like a child in her opinion, immature and selfish. He had no right to pout because she'd spent time with someone other than him. What did he expect? She barely even knew him, they barely even talked - unless arguing, and he was jealous of her spending time with someone else? It was absurd, unbelievable.
Liesel was trying not to shout, but it was practically impossible with the amount of anger boiling up inside of her. It made her blue eyes flash and her jaw tighten as she tried to withhold the harsh words balancing precariously on the tip of her tongue. It was really too late for that though, sooner or later they would be unleashed.
Standing up stiffly, she couldn't help but glare at Sebastian sitting in his chair whilst pretending to read his novel. "You're ridiculous, you know that? You expect people to want to spend time with you, but who would want to be around someone who's always uptight and agitated about something?" Her voice was exposing all the pent up irritation that she'd locked away for the past few days; there was no controlling it now. "Did you ever stop to think about how I feel? You took away everything I had come to know, and now I'm trying to adjust and you're still managing to make an issue out of nothing." She shook her head, looking at the wall instead of at him. There were so many other things she wanted to say, but her thoughts were too much of a mess, leaving Liesel unable to organize anything into sentences. So, too frustrated and impatient to work things out, she stormed from the room and slammed the door (but, not before chucking one of her boots towards the wall above the bed).
The crisp night air stung her cheeks, but she did not care. It was almost refreshing, and perhaps even soothing to be out on the open deck. It was a lot better than being stuck in a stuffy room with Sebastian, who at the moment was really getting on her nerves.

Tobias Serafin "In case you've already forgotten, if not for me, you may not even be alive right now!"
The reverberation of indignant shouts from the next room truly piqued Tobias' curiosity. Earlier in the day, while he and Liesel sparred and scrimmaged, the captain could have sworn that he sensed jealousy in his younger brother. The two of them often squabbled over the same girl; that was no secret. But Liesel..well, she was different. Tobias found himself genuinely yearning for her attention, and that sort of thing did not usually occur. Normally, when Tobias found himself attracted to someone, all of the fun resided in the chase. And once he succeeded in winning a girl's affection, it would be over. Done. Something about Liesel intrigued him, however, something he could not automatically pinpoint.
But one thing was for certain: he would not simply allow Liesel to fall for his brother. Not without a fight.
And it seemed as if the tides were turning in his favor, as when he heard the door of his brother's cabin slam shut, he knew that Sebastian must have done something to really make her upset. And how could Tobias possibly pass up an opportunity to sway Liesel's opinion of Sebastian even further? He couldn't. Sure, he certainly did not like having his brother upset with him - and after overhearing his argument with Liesel, he indubitably knew that to be the case - but his disdain for losing a good battle far succeeded his fear of Sebastian.
With that in mind, Tobias inhaled a deep breath, exhaling the air slowly through his teeth. He then rose from the chair behind his desk and made his way to the door of his chambers. The wooden door creaked open, and the young man raised an eyebrow in feigned inquisitiveness.
"Do you want to go for a walk?" he inquired, and as he noticed her somewhat exasperated expression, his eyebrows puckered in concern.

liesel wailes //
Liesel was mildly surprised to hear Tobias's voice, expecially since she had just gotten done arguing with his brother. She glanced at him with a somewhat surprised expression, managing to force a weary smile. It was strange how quickly he was there, considering that she'd just barely left Sebastian's room. Nevertheless, she wouldn't mind his company. Who cares if it caused more jealousy? At this point, Liesel really didn't care what anyone assumed, it was none of their business what she did anyway.
"That would be nice." She responded without much hesitation, breezing by with brisk tone of voice. It was apparent that she was still somewhat upset, more infuriated than anything else. In the last twenty-four hours Liesel had been showing a new side of herself, the side that had a temper and lack of patience. She felt a burning in her chest, which caused her lungs to struggle for air. And for once she wanted to unleash it on someone, to inflict the pain she felt on somebody else. It was really a horrible thought, cruel and foolish, but it sounded so appealing in that moment. She wanted to hit something, she wanted to feel the impact with her fist. She wanted to slash at the ship's deck with her sword until it was only splinters. But none of these things would satisfy her, even she knew this.

Tobias Serafin The captain registered her stupefaction, mild as it was, and when she agreed to accompany him, Tobias graciously offered Liesel his arm. After all, it was likely that the young woman was used to having a gentleman by her side; luckily, Tobias could certainly pass for one. When necessary, the young man knew to exude proper etiquette, and though he was a pirate, his practices hardly ever qualified as barbaric. Each of the Serafin brothers had been raised by a wealthy merchant, and because of this, propriety came naturally.
"Don't take Sebastian's actions too personally," Tobias soothed in an attempt to quell Liesel's apparent outrage and possible bloodlust, "especially when he's not angry with you. He's upset with me and simply taking it out on you."
Unfair as it may be, that's how my dear brother operates.
A moment of silence followed, and Tobias pursed his lips in contemplation. But then, realization hit him, and his azure irises brightened noticeably. A soft smile tugged at the corners of his lips, and as he walked, he turned his head so that he could see Liesel a bit better.
"You know, we'll be docking soon. We're just filling up on supplies like food and water so there won't be any raids. If you'd like, you're welcome to come ashore."
He sincerely hoped that his suggestion would lift her spirits.

liesel wailes //
Everyday that she spent on the ship, Liesel found herself being constantly surprised by the lifestyle it's occupants lived. What continuously surprised her was the gentlemanly qualities that both Tobias and Sebastian possessed (she wasn't entirely sure if the same could be said for the rest of the crew), perhaps she had been raised to believe that all pirates were barbaric and uncivilized, or perhaps she had just assumed that herself.
Liesel had never imagined - not even in a million years - that she would be strolling across a deck arm linked with that of a pirate. She was even dressed like one. It should have horrified her, or at least upset her in some way, but it didn't. She actually enjoyed the company.
Despite the lull of the sea that was pleasant and calm, and even Tobias's voice that was spoken soothingly, Liesel's mind was not at ease. And she found that she didn't want to discuss Sebastian, even though the older brother was just trying to help. She opted not to respond, knowing that she couldn't help but take everything personally. Her eyes flickered away, and deep down she felt almost offended that Sebastian hadn't in some way apologized (she felt that he needed too) or at least talked to her. It sincerely bothered Liesel, because deep down she wanted to get to know him better. All they ever seemed to do was argue, making everything in her life even harder than it already was.
She was troubled by her thoughts whilst walking beside Tobias, but when she heard him mention that they were docking soon everything else seemed unimportant. "Really?" She looked at him to tell if he was joking or not, for the last thing she needed was to get her hopes up. But he was smiling, and it was genuine, leading Liesel to believe that he was completely serious. "How long will we be docked?"

Tobias Serafin Seeing Liesel's expression lighten caused Tobias' heart to genuinely warm. He sought to make her happy; that was his sole intention. He yearned to see Liesel abandon her inhibitions and simply allow herself to be..carefree. Yes, that was it. Tobias knew that his brother - a stern, stoic, and almost phlegmatic individual - constantly failed to let himself truly live. The captain did not want the same fate for Liesel. He hoped that she would, if anything, take after him, rather than his brother. Tobias was a man who lived every single day to its fullest potential, whereas a certain air of paranoia seemed to resinate with Sebastian. The two men certainly were different from one another.
"Ah, only a day or two, I'm afraid," Tobias replied almost solemnly, "as when we're finished loading supplies, we'll need to be on our way again." The man paused for a moment, and a pensive expression resided across his face. In that particular moment, one would be able to truly see the resemblance between the captain and his younger brother. "The town in which we'll be docking is quite similar to yours. I think you'll appreciate the alikeness."
For an instant, Tobias stopped walking, and gazed out over the railing. Through the light mist that blanketed the ocean below, the man could just barely spot a small, almost indistinguishable island in the distance. There it was. That was their destination. And because they seemed to only be a short distance away, Tobias figured that the ship would be closing in upon the island in a short time.
"I'd say that we will be there within the hour," the captain stated. "Now, I believe that on the storage deck we have a few dresses. Perhaps you'd like to go down there and see if you can find something that fits? I would assume that you'd be more comfortable in public if you were wearing something a bit more..feminine, am I correct?"
(we can do a time skip, if you'd like?)
