(Would you like me to create another male, Whales?) Brom was taken aback by her seemingly playful mood. Most trespassers weren't this friendly, but then again, she could be trying to confuse him. Brom relaxed his posture only a little. "I'm curious as to what a princess is doing so far away from her castle. Care to enlighten me any further then you already have?"

Uriah was walking back to the inn to get his pay. The boy was from Brom's kingdom but he was a stable hand and had just sold a horse to a quite wealthy buyer. His sandy blonde hair and blue eyes made him stand out in the kingdom and he was quite tall for his age. Just as Uriah went to enter the inn, he passed by a girl. He was going to ignore her but something on her person caught the light and caused a reflection. The stable hand stopped, glancing over his shoulder.

She felt someone staring at her and Arabella turned around, "Yes?" She said in a curious voice. This stranger's blue eyes were quite beautiful and she couldn't look away. Arabella managed to somehow and just stared at his face versus just his eyes. She looked quite rich compared to him but the truth was she was just middle class.

Uriah turned himself around, surprised she had noticed the subtle glance. He ran through an explanation in his head for his small look. "Sorry for distracting you, its just...your clothes, they arent native to this area. Visiting?" He asked. Uriah knew the country was on the brink of war and a foreigner would be worth noting. He noticed her short hair as well. Most people around this area were darkhaired but they always kept it long.

(Sorry, was doing some chores. And he sounds pretty cute)
"Yes. I am a foreigner. I'm Arabella by the way. Who are you?" She was drawn to this stranger. He had attractive facial features and looked around her age. Arabella could tell he wasn't as wealthy as she was, not that it mattered much. She wasn't going to stay here anyway. She had things to do, places to go, people to see.

(XD thanks) Uriah was surprised again. The girl was friendly unlike most foreigners that came around. "Uriah, royal stable hand." The boy replied, giving her a quick look-over. She didn't look like she was about to stab him. That was a nice change. "We don't see foreigners here very often, none that are friendly anyway." Uriah said and added a smile. This girl looked rich, which meant if he stepped out of line he could be in lot of trouble. Uriah remembered the last lashing he had gotten and it wasn't a pleasant one. Hopefully this girl, no Arabella, wasn't harsh like other upper class citizens. (He's slightly afraid of her, which is cute.)

(Its adorable!)
Arabella ran her fingers through her short hair. "Well it's nice to meet you Uriah. I was told to go to neighboring countries as part of a trial to become a guard. So here I am." She half lied. She WAS supposed to go to neighboring countries and such, but not as a trial. Arabella was a guard in training however of one of the larger cities in her kingdom "You seem fidgety, why?" She noticed he seemed a bit...off.

"Really? That's very different from our guard traditions here." The boy replied. As much as set off suspicions with the stable hand he tried not to act on them. She seemed nice and he hadn't got backhanded yet or ignored so that was a good sign. He almost jumped when she asked the other question. He shifted his weight. "Well..I am lower class and you are clearly above me...I'm not supposed to be talked to like I am another human being." He winced for a second, hoping she wouldn't get angry. It would be bad to upset a friend he just met.

Arabella laughed, "You thought I was going to hurt someone that I just met?" After she stopped she smiled broadly, "I don't hurt people unless they wished to harm me. I guess I'm not like the other people you've met?" She rested her hand on the base of the sword hilt but not in a way like she was going to draw it. Arabella moved her cloak a bit so it wouldn't bug her as she placed her hand on the sword

"Well, a lot of people in this kingdom think differently Arabella, I am grateful for you friendliness." Uriah said with a small smile. Just then he heard a shout from inside and out came tumbling the man who had bought the horse from Uriah. He smelled strongly of ale and he looked angry. His eyes landed on Uriah. "Hey you! Thought you could get away with my money did ya?" He growled and stumbled toward Uriah. Uriah took a few steps back. "No sir, I was just-" The man threw a staggered punch at Uriah, who easily dodged it.

(Sorry, my phone is being slow)
Her black boots made a clopping sound as she stepped forwardand drew her sword. "I think you should offer an explanation sir on how you think this gentleman conned you." She put her sword underneath his chin in a threatening way. This boy didn't see. Like the type that would con others. This...man...was probably just drunk. Arabella could have easily slit his throat but knew better than to kill aimlessly. The horse he was mentioning was tied to a post near the front of the inn. It looked fine to Arabella. Not too skinny, not old, not sick or injured. He was most likely just looking for a fight.

(It's fine)
The man stopped short and swallowed. Uriah stood back, taking the opportunity to glower at the man. Uriah was actually stronger then he looked but being raised as a servant forced him to be passive. The man blubbered for an answer. "He's a servant-they're always trying to take our money!" He exclaimed. Apparently he hadn't learned that this girl didn't seem to care about that. Uriah looked at the man. "He's drunk, he doesn't know what he's talking about." He said.

agh sorry y'all! I had my first lesson since getting my wisdom teeth out and it went on foreveeeer))
Meridian shrugged, "Not in particular." She said with a sigh, knowing that she would have to let her intentions be known eventually. Now that her head was uncovered she looked up at the trees above with her silvery eyes. "If you must know I'm taking a break from the politics that being a princess entails. But that is enough of that! What is the Prince of my country's greatest enemy doing so close to the border?" She asked, her grin returning. She finally recognized him after much thought and realizing he was just as pushy as she, no simple townsfolk or even lower noble would stand up to her this much unless they were truly stupid.

(I HATE my internet!!) "That wasn't what I asked. Was it? I suggest you answer me straight or he can be declared innocent." Even though she was speaking to a higher class, it didn't matter in a foreign land. Hardly anything she did would, well except getting thrown in the stocks or something related to that.

The man sighed and glared Uriah. "Fine, the little mongrel didn't try to steal my money." He grumbled. Uriah held out the bag of coins to the man who waited for Arabella to release him. Uriah could already see hate fizzling for the foreigner and he was afraid of what might happen after Arabella let him go.

(My sister is getting her wisdom teeth removed right now) Brom suppressed actually let out a chuckle when she said taking a break from politics. For a moment he wondered if they bored her about just as much as they bored him. Sure, Brom was in line for the throne, but that didn't mean he was interested in it. The prince was as rebellious as his father at this age and everyone played it off as such, blaming his human blood. Of course, no one outside of the castle knew he was partly human, but it was easy to guess, most people just didn't dare to. Brom was irritated with all of them. He frowned slightly when she addressed him as prince, but he wasn't surprised with the fact that she had recognized him. "Would it surprise you if I said I was trying to escape the politics of my kingdom as well?" He said with a small smirk.

Arabella sheathed her sword and backed up to where Uriah was standing, "Even if you are a higher class than him," She motioned to Uriah, "It doesn't mean you can lose all sense of morality. We are still as equals." She put her hand on the sword hilt just in case this drunk got any ideas. He wasn't in his right mind a therefore, can't be trusted. She looked up at Uriah, "I better go." She started walking off down the cobblestone street towards a different town that a sign claimed to just be over a few hills. I don't want to be around long if this stranger wants to make a mob and hunt me down.

The man looked at Arabella angrily before yanking the money out of Uriah's hand. The stable hand kept quiet, but watched the drunk walk away. There would be no doubt he was going to call the local town discipliner to come for Uriah. Uriah turned when Arabella started to leave, his mind panicking for a moment. She could be in as much trouble as he was, since she wasn't native to this land. He ran after her. "Hey, wait." He said, grabbing her elbow gently to stop her from walking away, it wasn't something her normally did but it was more of a spur of the moment things more then an act of properness.

Arabella stopped when she felt someone touch her. She whipped around, hoping it wasn't he drunk. She breathed a sigh of relief when it was just Uriah, "Oh, it's just you. I thought that man already started a mob! Is there something you needed?" She asked. She was glad to help anyone...especially him. She looked into his eyes. They were almost hypnotic and it took everything she had to take her thoughts off of them and focus on Uriah as a whole

Uriah looked at Arabella for second. Why was he coming after a foreigner? He didn't really know. "Let me escort you to where you want to go." Uriah volunteered, thinking of something quick. "I know this area very well." He glanced over his shoulder. "Plus I don't want to be around when that drink reports both you and I to the discipliner." Who knew what Brom would do to Uriah when he found out the servant had offended the noble, much less, talked to a foreigner.

"Are you sure? I don't want to trouble you..." she would have liked for him to come. Arabella was feeling quite alone these past few weeks as she scouts the surrounding countries, so far she has only been to one other. And they weren't much of a threat. They seemed to know which country she was from, and were quite frightened of her. But this country seemed different in a way. Most of the people here weren't afraid of her, that is, until they saw she was armed. Arabella felt deep pride in her country, and she wanted it to rule over these other nations, so long as they wouldn't hurt the people like Uriah. *No. You need to focus. You have a mission. He would provide as a nice guide though. Just for this nation for a few more weeks and then you'll be on your way. Yes that's all it is...just another mission.*

Uriah nodded earnestly. "The prince will already be upset with me so I might as well get away while I can for awhile." Uriah looked up at her, his blue eyes hard. "I'm tired of being ordered around and talked to like I'm no better then an animal. If I go back to the palace thats all I will receive. If I go with you...well you're different." Uriah said, offering a small smile. He knew if anyone found out about the things he had just spoke he could be put to death, but he didn't care. Arabella actually treated him like another human, even if she was a foreigner.

He seemed eager to go. Was life here for the lower class that bad? Well, it seems that way. "If you're sure. I suppose you can. I'm not sure how long I'll be here or how long you want to tag-along but I'll try to do what I can to make sure we're both taken care of." She patted her sword hilt

Uriah smirked. "I have a few tricks up my sleeve. Most servants don't last as long as I have." Uriah bent down and pulled a dagger out of his boot, showing it to her. "Just for emergencies, we're not supposed to have them, but I don't trust everyone I meet. And I most definitely won't let them kill me if I can help it." He tucked the knife in his boot once again. "So where do you want to go."

She smiled broadly, "I should have figured you had a couple tricks." She gave him a soft, friendly puch on the arm, "Well, I need to get to that village up there. I'm supposed to go to a few major cities and a few minor ones on my scout mission." Arabella tucked her hair behind her ear when it fell in front of her face. *he's brave too...* she was slipping into a daze before she blinked a few times to clear her thoughts, *shut it! He's just another villager, who offeres to be a guide. That's all.*

Uriah was a little surprised when she punched him in the arm, but he quickly knew it wasn't out of malice. "I know a major town close by. We could make it to it by sundown." He watched the hair fall in front of her face, but.managed to keep his hands glued to his side. She might not appreciate him touching her hair. That could be very bad. He noticed her watching him and smirked. Was she staring at him? Uriah looked away, he shouldn't entertain the thought, after all, he was still a low class citizen.
