Julian waited for Aster to join him before he sat down at the table with his plate and glass. He realized he'd left the utensils on the counter and he stood up, walking back to get them. He pulled two forks and headed back over, sitting again. He passed one over to Aster's dish and began to shift his own food about to let it cool a little faster. "So I know it's sort of quiet in the house. It's usually like this. If you want to go out later, we can try one of the little dessert shops down the road." He said. He knew it wasn't the best idea to keep himself cooped up in the house. Aster couldn't be happy to be stuck indoors all day...

"I don't mind it being quiet," Aster replied after Julian's first comment. He wasn't sure why the human would think that would be a problem. Really, the only complaint the cat might have about the quietness of the house was that he missed the sounds of birdsong, wind in the leaves, rippling water, and other such ambient sounds of nature. The sound of the filter on the fish tank did help with that somewhat, and every now and then Aster could hear the noise of birds chirping and fluttering around outside, so even then he didn't mind the house all that much.
At the mention of going out, Aster tilted his head and looked at him. "Dessert shop?" he asked. He didn't know what dessert was, or why there would be a specific shop for it.

Julian nodded slightly. "It's a little bakery that focuses in making sweet treats." He explained. "They're reasonably priced, and it's hard to have a dessert shop if your cooking isn't good enough, so its almost guaranteed to taste good." He said. He picked up a small amount of pasta on his fork and took a bite of his dinner. "You should try it at least once."

(sorry I didn't reply sooner. Been busy/lacked muse. I went to try to find this and it didn't show up in my recent threads on my dash for some reason and I got scared for a minute lol)
Aster nodded, though he only legitimately understood part of what Julian was talking about. He still couldn't quite fully grasp concepts like the value of human money- he understood the concept, but not really the details. He just knew if he found enough of it the humans would accept it. He ate slowly, playing with his food a bit as he thought. If Julian wanted to go to a "dessert shop," Aster would willingly go, and at least try to behave himself as a human. "Sounds like fun," he commented, nodding.

Julian offered a small smile. "I think you'll like it better once you get to see it." He said before he started to eat again. His plate emptied fairly quickly, and he got up to rinse it in the sink. He decided to keep quiet to avoid rushing Aster and once he deemed the plate clean enough to not be a problem later, he left it in the sink and walked back to the table. He sat down again to wait.

Aster finished his food fairly quickly after that and then got his plate and carried it to the kitchen, having seen Julian do the same. He wasn't quite sure what to do with it from there, and looked around the kitchen with a slightly confused expression. Besides watching Julian cook, he hadn't really paid much attention to the room yet. Noticing dishes in the sink, Aster shrugged and put his there as well before returning to the living room.
