The Rat twitched and jumped when his energy was returned. "Fact about me," Shu called after Jacob "Pain translates into something else for me, if you understand what that means." A cheesy grin passed his face before getting up and heading to the kitchen. Charlie and Beckett had left to get supplies, but of course they didn't actually get to that. The idea made him pout slightly. Settling for a box of Ritz, he took the box back to his spot and sat down to eat. What he'd give for some starfruit right now, or some lychee. Sadly, the Zodiac didn't have the luxury of foods from back home, and they were hard to find here. Being content with his crackers, he decided "We'll need to head out soon. Food shortage generates arguing."

If Ollie was supposed to become flushed at that statement and begin worshipping the rat like a love God, he didn't. Maybe for a human hunk like Taylor Lautner, but not Shu.
That was Ollie's mental attempt at a joke, by the way.
Ollie just snorted softly, and sprawled himself out on the couch once again, now that he found himself able to relax. "Entertainment's gone. I don't think my intelligence will keep you satisfied for too long, so you might as well keep writing." He gave the other Zodiac the side-eye and a half-grin (wasn't he expressive today?), before focusing his attention on the ceiling.
He glanced at the watch strapped around his wrist (where did he get it? Nobody knows. He probably stole it) as Shu suggested buying food later, frowning. How could someone be hungry this early in the morning, anyway? He debated on saying something like 'rats eat garbage, there's a whole buffet for you on main street', but decided he was already speaking too much and stayed quiet.

A large slam would be heard from the dining room as he slammed his fist on it and accidently breaking it with his super strength. "My bad!" the Tiger yelled throughout the house as he stared at the broken dining table.

"I said competence," Shu told Ollie sweetly "Not intelligence. If you think I was attempting to appeal to you or something, you're gravely mistaken." The thoughts that pulsed through the Ram were quite intriguing, and amusing. Eating a few more crackers, he went back to writing, saying "And, if I catch you associating me with garbage again, in any way, I will get you over my knee with intent to make your a** burn, Oliver." Nothing anyone thought was private when Shu was around. The Rat glanced over at Ollie for a second before turning back to his writing. At Jacob's actions, he only rolled his eyes.

The Tiger walked back into the living room and sat in a recliner chair grumbling to himself about a table crisis. "We need a new dining table...." He said to the Ram and the Rat now. "And maybe a few new plates." He begin to relax in the recliner consider how he will ask Beckett out if he decides to.

Ollie gave Shu a lazy thumbs-up sign, only half listening. He was too busy mourning for the table, and wishing Beckett would hurry up and get back so someone could keep that kid (yes, they were basically the same age, but he was more mature, and that was what counted) under control.
Ollie reached back to fish a pack of gum out of his pocket, and grabbed a stick. Actually, he grabbed two, because one never satisfied him, and popped them both into his mouth one at a time. Seeing there was one stick left, he frowned. It felt wrong to leave one in the pack, but he couldn't chew three. Reluctantly, he tossed it towards Jacob, where he sat on the recliner. "Chew that and calm yourself, before you break another table, you monster." His humor from before seemed to drain from his voice, and he sounded as emotionless as ever. It was time for another round of everyone's favorite game: 'Was Oliver actually mad about the table murder or is that a nonchalant joke??' in which Shu was the only ever winner, because he was a cheater.

"I don't like gum Oliver, you and Shu of all people should know that." the Tiger said to the Ram. "And don't pretend to be mad about the table. It's just a table and can be easily fixed or a new one bought." He said to the Ram again. He began to tap his fingers on his own leg considering the Rat's offer but shrugging it off since he liked Beckertt better.

Shu just let them do whatever, still going about his task. The metal fingers of his right hand brushed over some eraser bits, the soft 'shh' ringing out a few times as they slid over the paper to wipe the bits away. Flesh hand digging around the box for more crackers, he sighed "Getting a new table is the least our-" He paused, gray eyes narrowing. Looking around, he remained quiet. "Someone is coming to us," he spoke slowly, choosing his words carefully. Shu wasn't sure what, but a flash from the future just made him aware.

"What do y-" Jacob cut himself off, if Shu said that it means he saw the future. "Guys you may feel a little pinch." After he said that a surge of energy and strength rushed through them both which gave them a sort of super strength like strength but not as strong as his own. "There now we can defend ourselves better if we need to." He told them not mentioning the fact if they over use it they could possibly die or pass out.

"That was me trying to extend an olive branch for earlier," Oliver told him, shrugging idly. "but oh well. Give it back." He lifted himself up (with hesitation, for he was comfortable), and moved to reclaim it. Movement from the ram stopped completely though, as Shu spoke.
So much for not dying today, The Zodiac thought. He dared not to make a single noise (again, paranoia) as he turned to the rat, lips pressed together tight. Jumping out the window and fleeing for his life seemed like a fair option right now, but Ollie tried to stay calmer this time around. A scan of the surroundings assured Oliver that there was nothing out of place, or unordinary in the immediate vacinity—but that was just false hope, of course. Even a fool knew better than to question someone who could see the future.
He considered praying to some god that they were to hopefully live another day, before realizing they were the gods and that there was no hope. Zero, zilch.
As Jacob filled them with extra power, he shot a grateful look, but stayed silent as he waited for any further information from the rat sign.

Jacob glanced at them before letting himself turn invisible so he couldn't be seen. "I really love being invisible....." He said to them as he wondered if he could extend the power over to them by touching them. He decided to try it by walking over to Oliver then touch his shoulder. After a moment Ollie would begin to fade into invisibility. "Oh cool I can extend the power to others." He said as he kept a hand on Ollie.

'You think plugging in batteries will help you?' a voice questioned. Clear as day, yet no one in the area had moved their mouths. Shu looked around, staring as black ooze seeped through the bottom of the door to the hideout. More and more, until it began to rise. Take shape. 'All you're doing is fattening yourselves for me.' Something tugged at their energies, like a hand latching on. It only teased though, tugging gently before leaving their energies alone. The humanoid shape had a featureless face except for a crease of a mouth. 'All of you Zodiac are so petty. You should just let us have you again. I can't... see where I am. I just projected part of my conscious here...' Its head turned, causing black guck to drip and fly to the side. Shu narrowed his eyes, taking a step back as it slouched father into the room. It didn't know exactly where they were? What a shame.

Jacob would pick up Ollie with his super strength and walk to Shu then touch his shoulder causing him to go invisible as well. Shu I made you and Ollie invisible. Please telepathically tell him I did. He thought to himself knowing Shu heard him. He just stared at the black figure as he kept them both invisible as well as himself.

'Turning invisible does nothing for you,' the figure spoke again, yet its mouth didn't move. Turning, it seemed to look right at Ollie and Jacob. 'Let us... talk. I am not here to fight with you...' Then, it seemed to be close in a blink, grabbing Jacob by his jaw and yanking him closer. Its mouth opened to show darker hole with no teeth. Yet, a tongue did lash out to lick the Tiger before shoving him back. Tongue retreating into its mouth, which closed, its head turned to look a Shu briefly. 'All of you... save your energy. Using it against me will do nothing.'

Jacob hesitated at this. "Does it matter if they run low on energy, I could always give them more." the Tiger said before realizing he should shut up. He released the invisibility and sent a tiny bit more strength and energy into both Shu and Ollie so they could defend themselves more their strength and energy now equal to his own. Shu anyway to get us outta here? He thought to himself so that Shu can read the thought.

'Not if it doesn't want us to leave,' Shu thought back. He looked as the thing sat down, crossing its legs neatly. Tilting its head, it spoke 'I have come to see if any of you would return with me. The longer you resist, the worse it will be for you, and you all know this. The Rabbit and the Dragon refused me like the idiots they were. I could read it in their souls. Now, I will ask you all once. Who is returning with me?' If they returned, they wouldn't be tortured. Yes, they'd be examined, but in humane ways. Still, any Zodiac would know it would still be enslavement.

"I refuse!" the Tiger shouted as he threw all his efforts into sapping the energy used to project the thing here away. "I suggest you leave before I make sure you die. Now leave us alone!" He shouted as his spirit began to heal from the kindness he was doing defending the other Zodiacs. "If you refuse to leave I will hunt you down and end you." He said to the thing.

@angelfur 'I am a combination of all twelve Zodiac,' it told Jacob 'If something is even going to harm me, it isn't you.' The energy leak preformed on it was doing next to nothing. Its own aura reached out to Jacob, and ripped away half of his energy. Of course the Tiger could just regenerate it all back, but that was not the point. 'Hmm... like I said to the other two. I was told to try and not take you yet. Only to take you when you beg for it. Do you really want to wait until then?' Shu could only watch, knowing the Zodiac had no real affect on that thing yet. They would, in the future, but not now.

[ my posts keep getting shorter and shorter. sorry T-T ]
Oliver threw a glance at Shu. If the precognitive, omnipotent Zodiac (that was not praise, he was still a prat) wished not to surrender, then obviously there was no good point in it. Besides, he'd rather die than go back, whether torture would be involved or not. So, Ollie shrugged, crossed his arms, and waited to see if anyone else planned to do anything. Hopefully the...thing would leave soon. Crawl back into the gates of hell or something.

@animefreak (As long as it isn't a one liner, you're good to go)
'You seem hesitant,' the creature spoke to Ollie, head turning toward the Ram 'Or are your thoughts naturally sluggish?' Taking a step toward Ollie, it probably would've done something to him, but paused upon hearing something, head turning slightly in Shu's direct. They were... thinking. 'You've all just made your lives so much harder. I'll even be so merciful as to ask one more time. Butting heads with my superiors just gets you hurt. And butting heads with me just gets you killed.'

B e c k e t t
If the Rabbit was making an effort to protect him in that haggard state of his, then Beckett himself must have come off as rather weak. The thought made him squint his eyes for a moment, though it was aimed at no one in particular. Whether it was out of good will or not, he could not make himself come to appreciate kindness when someone was stretching their wellbeing this far for his own. It didn’t settle well with him when they were already this battered and broken to the brink of death.
Besides, this wasn’t the first time he’d faced strong malice.
After a very brief pause of silence, the Dragon raised its head and a white glow encircled them, over the weak sphere that had formed around them before. Within the walls of the glimmering white sphere, a quietness had settled, letting the cruel, raspy voices surrounding them fade away until they were white noise - nothing but an inaudible murmur.
Rest, Rabbit, Beckett’s warm voice said. Perhaps it was a trick of the newly formed light, but it seemed that the Dragon’s calm golden eyes were glowing with faint exasperation and mellow amusement. The light in its jewel-toned eyes was difficult to describe - it was stern, yet quite gentle all the same, humorous, yet with a distance that could not be reached. I can deal with this much.
The silver form of the Dragon curled up into the air like a thin trail of unfurling smoke, pulling away from the greedy grasp of the shadows. With the Rabbit resting in its hands, it soared up and up and up where the quiet wind blew past them like leaves on a tide.
When trails of the white clouds of the Dragon seeped through an individual, it was said that there was an immediate warmth that spread throughout their veins as their wounds were mended together ever so carefully. At least, that was how quite a few had described it in the past - a few particular people who he had reached out to. The memory of their bright, joyous faces almost made him wince, though he let it slip past his head once more, letting them blur until they were nothing but a blank canvas in his vision.
This time, he let his ability in its entirety envelop the Rabbit, just as he had for those people in the past.
It didn’t take long for the consequence of it to take place, especially when the damage that had affected the other Sign was this severe. All those broken bones, all those torn muscles - Beckett felt all of it.
Upon landing somewhere (thankfully without crashing) within the alleyway they had last been in just before the gnarly creature had appeared, the lean and tall man stumbled a little before leaning against one of the walls with his eyebrows knitted together. That was the one thing he disliked about his ability - having to be vulnerable afterward, depending on the severity of the wounds that he was looking after. Give and take, he heard a voice in his head from all those years back. Even you are not an exception of this, Long.
Letting the Rabbit rest on his folded coat, he eased himself down onto the floor so that his head was resting upon the brick behind and he was sitting against the walls. The alleyway was empty and it gave him the chance to breathe without having to worry about the eyes of civilians. It almost embarrassed him whenever he was in this state, though he made sure that his awareness of is surroundings remained intact. Those things could come again, and that was the last thing Charlie needed as of now.

ᴄᴇʟʟɪsᴛ 'Rest, Rabbit,' did not slip his noticing. He did want to rest, but... Charlie's little sphere wavered, hesitant to remove itself even in the light of the graceful Dragon. Yet, he finally accepted he was finished for now. With a sound like a long, tired sigh, the pale light slowly faded, the sphere taking itself apart. Curling up in the Dragon's hand, his tiny form finally began its rest, unable to push himself further. His system started focusing on repairing itself, encouraged by the warmth spreading through him. The Rabbit still wanted to help, but his help would be much appreciated in the future when he was stronger. Finding shelter in a coat pocket (because he was cute and tiny and could fit), he weakly dragged himself to the new spot. Already did he look better, but he was still damaged. 'Tired...' he mumbled in his thoughts, little nose peeping from his hiding spot. At least the worst of the danger was... wait, no. Those thunderous, twelve tremors could be felt, and in his weakened state it was painful. The Rabbit whimpered softly. 'Monster... found... home...' his thoughts found Beckett again. Nothing bad could be sensed, aside from the darkened aura. Perhaps they were talking? There wasn't anything Charlie could do though. He had accepted his weak state, letting the last of his adrenaline seep away, so he simply had no fuel left in his tank. And he hated that. The Rabbit was the symbol of youth and wellness, yet there he was lying in a crumpled keep. His tiny soul vibrated in anger. Maybe it was because he was weak that he let other emotions besides happiness show to others. Then, his little body started to shake, like he was crying. Even his tiny nose twitched in a sniffle. 'Sorry... sorry... sorry...' The thought wasn't necessarily for Beckett, but the Dragon could still read every one of his thoughts, because Charlie's soul was still clinging to his, finding comfort and strength in the power. The one word, sorry, kept repeating itself. What he was even apologizing for, he was unsure. Maybe it was for being so fragile? Unable to provide help in the situation? If only the Zodiac had every percent of their energy. A portion of each was taken to make that... thing though. Briefly, he wondered if Shu had anything in his books about it. The outcome of the matter. Any way to defeat the new god? He just hoped the others were okay, knowing they were having to deal with the same malevolent creature he and the Dragon had a while ago. And if Shu didn't know anything, which would be surprising, the answers would be on that old slab of rock back in Japan that Higuma showed him. If it was even still intact. Apparently, from what the Brown Bear said, that old slab had the birth, actions, and ending of the god all in one. If the Rat had it in his records though, then they should be able to see it and translate it. Shu never let anyone read the books though. 'Some are not worthy to behold these chronicles,' the Rat once told him, back home in China 'And that includes everyone but me and our master. Accept that.' Charlie sometimes wondered what it would be like, to read upon all the events of the universe. All the Zodiac had the ability to travel to Shu's library, to travel to the new realm entirely, but it was the Rat's consciousness that actually kept them out. Like a lock on a door to all the secrets and spoilers. Maybe the Rat was hiding something? At first, before they all migrated to America, all the Zodiac had access to his library except for a specific set of books. Then, he shut them out entirely. Just after Charlie found out about that one cave. All these thoughts and suspicions ran through his mind. Again though, there wasn't much he could do. Curling up a little more in his spot, he just tried to comfort himself more. Focusing on Beckett's aura, and the calm, happy ones of the humans bustling about beyond the alleyway. Even though he wasn't causing it, the happiness, the Rabbit was content that at least others, everyone, was feeling better than him.

Lightly resting his smooth hand over the trembling Rabbit and brushing its fur, Beckett only shook his head to the side at the apologies. “It’s all right, Charlie.” The warmth in his brown eyes never quite seemed to fade away. “You don’t have to apologise.”
Apprehension settled in Beckett’s stomach when he noticed that the air still hung with the same heavy weight. It was as if the creature hadn’t yet left entirely - almost as if it were..
Hastily hauling himself up on his feet with his hand pressed against the wall to steady himself, Beckett made sure that the Rabbit was still safe within the pocket. Charlie’s thought of the monster ‘finding their home’ seemed to confirm his suspicions, and it send a small jolt of cold down his spine. The others were still there.
The thought itself was enough for him to start running, ignoring the aches in his muscles from the remnants of healing the Rabbit. He pushed past (with an apology escaping his lips) a few of the people who seemed to have gathered over the hour, towards where their hideout was.
Halfway through he swivelled around a corner, taking the less open path of the street that there was, just in case some other unwelcome guests were waiting for them. It was better than trying to barge in through the front door plainly within sight, at least.
