(Sure Ink. That's the last duplicate for plot 8. What role are you interested in?)

Emendr listened to them speak before he considered. Should he follow up and give his name? He hadn't exactly learned a lot of honesty in the last lab. Still... He hadn't had another subject to talk to in the other lab, and he was admittedly curious about this other one. "Emendr." He answered quietly.

Kyra raised her eyebrows at the unusual name. "Neat. So, you're new, then?" she asked. She was way more friendly than she should've been, given her situation, however, she'd been in this facility her whole life. The scientists were alright, there were a few that were rougher than others, but they fed her, and gave her books to read. "I think you'll like it here."

Emendr gave a small shake of his head, not caring if she couldn't see. He wouldn't say he was new, and now that he'd seen that, he didn't think he'd be happy here. "I've been in labs for too long." He mumbled. "I don't get to be new anymore."

(X3 I'm in online classes now, so it's not so bad. All the things I need to get my work done are made available online. I'll have a reply up in a moment. If you want a visual reference to the creature I'm using (She's a little hard to describe) she's the creature I use to decorate the top of my tumblr page in the link below.)

(Well, the thing with online for me is I'm at a school to be trained for 3D digital art, so there's no textbooks. There's no reference except to have the teacher examine your files and tell you why a model isn't working, or why a rig is broken. Sometimes they can't figure it out either. It's equally difficult. Though if you need to reach a teacher, it can be hard to catch them when you actually need them before an assignment is due. And if the site is down, you're in trouble. I do enjoy the open hours though. And because I have such a hard time around people, not having to sit in class for 8hrs a day it's been easier.)

The beast finished rooting through the backpack in front of her. It lay in shreds now, the clothing and tools inside it discarded and tossed about. Nothing of value. Not even a few coins. Well... the humans who came through the woods never seemed to carry wealth on them. She'd raided the forest and mountain for anything of value, and now there seemed to be nothing left. She kept having to travel further and further to get what she needed. With an angry hiss, she swatted the scraps of cloth aside with the swipe of a massive paw. They struck up into the air and landed a few feet away, where the owner of the backpack - or what was left of him - was lying. She'd gone through his campsite only a half hour ago before finding him on the trail. There had been little of value there, too. She'd been tearing through anyone who crossed her path for the last few weeks. She'd have to move on soon before any 'important' humans began to notice.
With a bitter snort, she began to trot away from the site of the attack, moving easily through the brambles despite her large size. Six nimble legs found footing, claws gripping into the soft ground to keep herself rooted as she moved. She heard the bauble of a small brook and moved forward before stopping on the muddy bank. She lowered her face near the water's edge and soaked her lower jaw clean of blood from her attacks. Her face slightly resembled a human woman, though her nose and jaw had a snout-like shape to them, and her jaw was lined with two rows of dangerously sharp fangs. Brilliant red eyes watched the water for deep spots before she waded forward, letting the water cool her paws and clean her fur. She didn't like the water much, but she'd rather let the blood and dirt wash out of her orange fur naturally than lick it away like a common animal.

(Ah, well since you're doing a physical thing, it might help motivation for you to attend class instead of online. I did notice I got a lot more work done when I went to on campus classes than when I worked at home. It's very easy to get distracted or put off work online.)

When there was no movement from underneath the bed, the brunette let out a sigh. "I- whatever you are, please, come out. If you're hurt, I'll help you - it's okay. I'm just kinda of freaked out right now," she explained exasperatedly. "I don't want to hurt you - I want to help. But I need you to trust me or otherwise I'm going to have to call law enforcement, and I really don't want to do that." I just wanted a nice vacation! she thought. But this was going wrong in every way she could have ever imagined. What if the thing under her bed was a kid? What if she'd scared it too much? She couldn't be sure how it would respond.
(sorry for the poof I was on vacation and forgot to tell anyone I wouldn't be active oops)

(sounds fun where'd you get to go? Or was your vacation a at-home chill thing cuz those are 50% better than going places.) Law enforcement? That didn't sound good. He wasn't sure what it was, but anything with 'enforcement' in its name promised a bad time. He still couldn't bring himself to move forward. The pain in his back was horrible, though it didn't feel like it had started bleeding again. At least there was that. He couldn't find the words to ask for help, nor could he thing of a reason to believe the human's promises. His last run-in with them had just proven to be a terrible mistake. Another incident of similar outcome, and he may not walk away from it. He considered changing and fending her off with sharp teeth, but that still left him cornered. And too big to fit in the small space under the bed. That form wouldn't be of any help unless he was in the water. He tried to think of any other way out. If he could move, he could try to slip out at one of the other ends of the bed, though two were too close to a wall, and she seemed to be pretty close to both other options. Still, at least if he was forced out, he could try to move farthest from her reach. Other than that, he had no other options. He'd have to risk it. If there was danger, perhaps he could manage a second wind and fight back. Doubtful, but as a last resort, it suited him better than just giving up. "I am hurt." He admitted quietly. "I don't want to move."

(we rented some cabins in the mountains for a few days with some family friends and just chilled out and went on a couple hikes it was nice actually ) Kendall was surprised to hear the voice emerge from under the bed, her sympathy for the creature immediately rising when she heard how quiet and defenseless it seemed to be. Her mind raced as she thought about how to help the creature. It didn't want to move - she assumed it was probably done bleeding, with the tang of blood no longer fresh in the air - and she couldn't squeeze under the bed to meet it. How could she reach it? And could she be sure it wouldn't hurt her? That this wasn't a trick it was playing so it could eat/murder her once she came back into view? It doesn't matter, she told herself, shoving aside her doubts. It needs help - help she could hopefully offer with what was left of her first aid kit and anything she could learn from the internet about how to take care of strange creatures. "Okay," she said quickly, an idea coming to mind, "I'm going to move my bed so I can take a good look at where your injury is. It'll be a little loud for your ears, but I promise I'm not going to hurt you. Just stay put and I'll move the bed around you, okay?" Without waiting for a response, she rose to her feet and began to shove the small bed to the other side of the bedroom, the feet of the bed scraping across the floor with an ugly sound as she had promised, but left her in plain sight of the creature that was formerly hidden in the shadows. She was confused as she studied the creature and - was that a pelt of some sort? - but could clearly see the cuts across its back. She bent down closer to inspect the creature. "It'll be okay," she assured. "Just let me help you."

(Oh neat that sounds so nice) He flinched sharply at the sound, briefly showing his teeth. In this form, he appeared almost unmistakably human, though when he looked up at the human, now standing too close for comfort, the difference was noticeable. His irises and pupils appeared far too large for the size his eyes were. Despite the injuries and his torn and bloodied clothing, the seal pelt he clung to was perfectly clean and undamaged, still smelling heavily of seawater. Without the bed over him, he sat himself up, using his arms to stay upright. He didn't want to risk leaning against the wall and upsetting the wound further. "I can do it without help." He said quickly, not wanting her to come any nearer. His voice lacked hostility, though his caution was painfully obvious. The bandages he'd already placed over the wound on his back were a bit off, and some needed tightening, but he'd managed other, smaller injuries on his arms and shoulders a bit better. He didn't exactly have the best reach or view to properly check.
