I know the PDF has about 75-80% of the actual book but I'll probably read through it all the same since there's still a fair amount of pages that weren't found. Staff Note: Please do not mention any spoilers from the PDF leak of Wind. Keep these spoilers to yourself as it can confuse or spoil the book for other members. Especially for those who did not see the PDF or are avoiding any spoilers. Thanks! - Sand

So starting off where the excerpt left at Chapter 4: Frostpaw wakes up in the medicine den. It's been a quarter moon since Frostpaw has been taken in by ShadowClan. She thinks about how strange it is to no longer be a part of RiverClan, missing the familiar territory and all the cats she's known since birth. She's grateful to Tigerstar for taking her in, and that Puddleshine and Shadowsight were friendly enough, but the ShadowClan warriors were wary and kept their distance from her.
Shadowsight is meddling with herbs, but sees she's awake and asks how she is. Frostpaw realizes she must look unhappy, and admits she's just homesick. Shadowsight says he understands, and he hopes she can go back soon. Frostpaw says she doesn't know if she can since RiverClan didn't believe her about Splashtail. Shadowsight says he gets it, since nobody believed him when it came to Ashfur and he no longer received visions from StarClan. Frostpaw then feels bad since Shadowsight has clearly had it worse than how she's feeling right now. Shadowsight invites her to share some prey, which Frostpaw tries to protest at, but he insists otherwise. As they exit the den, Frostpaw thinks that she's actually grown to enjoy the taste of frog. Before either can eat, however, Tigerstar emerges from his den and calls a Clan meeting.
Tigerstar says that since Berryheart tried to depose him, she must have believed she had enough support to do it. He says that he's not going to demand oaths of loyalty from any cat, but he wants the Clan to be honest and discuss their grievances with him. No cat speaks up, looking at each other awkwardly. Frostpaw thinks that even though he's inviting criticisms, Tigerstar isn't the most approachable cat. She then thinks that she appreciates him taking her in, but his meddling in RiverClan affairs is the most obvious answer. She answers when everybody still remains silent, and tells him that that maybe some cats have an issue with him deciding to take over RiverClan since it wasn't great for either Clan. Grassheart and Gullswoop agree with Frostpaw.
Tigerstar lets out a long sigh and says that the strong line he took with RiverClan was a mistake, but he had good intentions. He wasn't trying to conquer RiverClan, but wanted to keep them from falling apart since, as they've all learned from "the Ashfur disaster", when one Clan suffers, sooner or later, all of them do. ShadowClan still seems uncertain, and so Tigerstar continues. He says that he doesn't want to be surprised trying to depose him, but if there's issues, they should take it up with him in their camp and not at the gathering, to prevent ShadowClan looking divided and weak. He finishes that, if cats do not believe he has their best interests or they're unsatisfied with his leadership, then he'll step down. Lightleap lets out an indignant yowl when Tigerstar mentions stepping down. Frostpaw thinks that she can't see Tigerstar voluntarily giving up power, though knows it wouldn't be good for the Clan either.
Cloverfoot says she wants him as leader, but wants him to listen to his Clanmates more. The ShadowClan cats murmur approval. Tigerstar thanks her, and says that they can now work on making ShadowClan as strong as it can be, and ends the meeting. Tigerstar then beckons Frostpaw to speak with him, and sternly tells her that he did her a favour by taking her in, and asks why she's repaying it with questioning him in front of his own warriors. Frostpaw says what he did to RiverClan affected her Clan more than it did his, and while she appreciates him giving her shelter, that won't make her hold her tongue, as she believes honesty will save RiverClan. Tigerstar laughs and says she's clearly not the timid young apprentice she was moons ago. Frostpaw says a lot has happened since then, and then asks him if she can go see what is going on in RiverClan. Tigerstar is unsure, and Frostpaw adds that they aren't sure if Splashtail even has his nine lives. If he hasn't gotten them, they need to figure out why.
Tigerstar agrees, asking if StarClan rejected him. He adds that he won't stop her, but he won't protect her if she plans on going into territories she's banned from, nor is she allowed to bring ShadowClan cats with her, and she's on her own. Frostpaw thanks him, saying she won't get ShadowClan in trouble, and heads off to RiverClan territory.
Making sure she's downwind, Frostpaw spies on RiverClan's camp, spotting warriors training for battle. Splashtail walks among them, yowling and belittling Lizardtail, Shimmerpelt, and Mallownose. Sneezecloud stops and asks why they're even training, since no Clan is threatening them now. Splashtail asks him if he wants ShadowClan to come back to invade and humiliate them, reminding him that he has new kits to protect soon. Sneezecloud is surprised to be challenged by his own son, but admits he doesn't want that. Splashtail calls the Clan a bunch of mice, and reveals that he plans to invade ShadowClan as revenge for their conquest.
Nightsky yowls agreement, saying they'll shred them. Splashtail says that RiverClan won't be as great as it was under Mistystar, they'll be greater. Frostpaw wonders if he means means solely to invade ShadowClan, or to expand RiverClan territory. She knows Splashtail has bad intentions, but not when he'll act on them. Duskfur then shakes off Brackenpelt, who was pinning her down, and tells Splashtail that once he gets his nine lives and officially becomes leader, ShadowClan won't dare to invade again, though Frostpaw notices the annoyance in Duskfur's voice when speaking to Splashtail. Splashtail approaches Duskfur, and Frostpaw sees a murderous look in his eyes as he says StarClan's opinions don't matter, and Tigerstar's conquest was simply ShadowClan's greed and ambition, not a genuine desire to help. What matters most is to hone their battle skills and make sure no Clan attempts to control them again.
Frostpaw is surprised when Splashtail says that StarClan doesn't matter, when clearly they do. She thinks about what Riverstar told her, that StarClan would never support Splashtail, and if RiverClan knew that, he wouldn't have their support. She grows uneasy when she thinks about a Clan without StarClan, since Podlight would be unable to contact them and Splashtail would refuse to. She wonders why he wants to become Splashstar so badly that he'll kill for it.
She feels some cat's gaze resting on her, and spots Mothwing across the camp, staring directly at her. She expects Mothwing to yowl a warning, but Mothwing gestures for Frostpaw to follow her further downstream. When they meet up, Mothwing calls Frostpaw a mouse brain and asks if she wants to get caught, though sees Mothwing is angry only out of concern, not out of fear of Splashtail. Frostpaw says Splashtail is a killer, and a threat to the Clan. Mothwing says she believes her, but it's important for her to keep Splashtail happy right now. Especially since Podlight is a long way from being able to treat his Clanmates. Frostpaw asks Mothwing if there's anything she can do. Mothwing says she's trying to sow doubt, since it is strange that Splashtail isn't keen on getting his nine lives, and even though she isn't StarClan's biggest supporter, she knows it's important for a leader to get nine lives. Frostpaw mentions Duskfur, Icewing, and her littermates as potential cats to tell. Mothwing disagrees, since while Duskfur and Icewing aren't overly fond of Splashtail, and Graypaw and Mistpaw weren't happy to learn the truth of their mother, it isn't enough since most cats are happy to just have a leader for once. Splashtail will go to the Moonpool when the time is right, and no cat is pushing him about it.
Frostpaw insists Mothwing can just make him leave, since she's a medicine cat. Mothwing says she can't, and if she goes too far, then she'll be exiled like Frostpaw was and she isn't willing to leave the Clan in the paws of Podlight, who can't be bothered to even learn the names of herbs, let alone what they do. Frostpaw says eventually Splashtail must go to get nine lives, and he can't put it off forever. Mothing concedes her point, but says she saw how the first Tigerstar led ShadowClan (Mothwing wasn't even born though lol) and while she's not sure how things will go, she's afraid things will end in blood.

So happy that you have it and that you'll start from Chapter 4 onward!
I think it'll be better for those who want a coherent/cohesive spoiler thread in chronological order since the initial leak not only had missing pages but also leaks from various points in the book out of order.

Chapter 5: Nightheart is out with Finchlight and Sunbeam, showing Waffle and Wasp what Clan life is like and how to hunt properly. Wasp and Waffle ask why Clan cats thank StarClan after catching prey, and Nightheart explains that if StarClan didn't bless them with prey, they would all starve, and it's to express gratitude. Waffle asks if RiverClan does the same, but says their prey must be gross since it's all under the water. Nightheart can't say he's ever tried it, though says he caught a lot of frogs once. Waffle seems uncertain about eating frogs. Nightheart tries to hype up a squirrel they caught, while Finchlight asks if they can just eat it first and talk later. Wasp says he thought they had to carry their prey back to the camp first. Sunbeam explains it's a special case since they're teaching them about Clan culture, and Nightheart says he can't wait for them to catch a rabbit and see how it tastes.
As they come back to camp after eating, Wasp and Waffle are chatting about how much fun they had, but grows concerned after Waffle keeps talking about RiverClan prey and not ThunderClan prey, worrying about Splashtail. He thinks that he just needs to hype up ThunderClan more, and he knows just how to do that. He brings the two park cats to the elder's den, leaving Sunbeam and Finchlight to clean out Sunbeam's nest. In the elder's den, Cloudtail and Brightheart are sharing tongues, Thornclaw is scratching himself, and Brackenfur and Brambleclaw are sharing a vole. Nightheart asks the elders to share some stories, and Brackenfur warmly welcomes them in, saying they can tell them anything they like about their Clan.
Waffle asks about the Dark Forest, since he's heard about it. Cloudtail says it's not a nice place and cats don't go there unless they've done evil things. Brightheart swats him over the ear and asks what kind of an explanation that is, and explains to them the difference between StarClan and Dark Forest, calling it a "path of wickedness". Waffle asks what it's like there, and Thornclaw says that Brambleclaw is the cat to ask. Brightheart interjects and says not that Brambleclaw is a bad cat, but rather he was forced in there by a truly evil spirit. She says the experience was harrowing, and asks Brambleclaw if he's comfortable talking about it.
Brambleclaw looks thoughtful, and says he'd rather not speak of it, but he's happy to answer other questions. Wasp asks if it's truly that terrible, then how did he get out. Brambleclaw shakes his head and says that it's true name is The Place of No Stars, and it's a bad place. The elders dip their heads in respect to the former leader, but Nightheart is a bit disappointed since he wants to learn about about what Brambleclaw went through, being the entrapment within the Dark Forest and how Ashfur stole his body.
Brackenfur says they can instead tell them all about the Great Battle between the Clans and the Dark Forest. Brightheart says many cats died, including Firestar. Wasp asks what happened. Brightheart begins to explain, mentioning Tigerstar's name. Wasp and Waffle are confused, since they thought Tigerstar was a decent cat. Brambleclaw says this is a different cat. The first Tigerstar is his father, and both he and the current Tigerstar are his kin, but they put his legacy behind them. Cloudtail adds that the current Tigerstar is a pain in the tail, but he's never done anything truly vile. Brackenfur continues and says that Tigerstar hated the living clans and had trainees across the clans to help him, but most swapped sides in the end. Thornclaw says he was one of them, and he was tricked into thinking they would better themselves and their Clans, but he was stupid to believe it. Brightheart reaches out and touches his shoulder affectionately and says it's all been forgiven and forgotten.
They mention Ivypool's spying, and how brave she is. They talk about the old forest, and Wasp asks how they came to find the lake territories. Brackenfur says that it's one of the best stories, and asks Brambleclaw to tell them. Brambleclaw sighs and explains the journey to find Midnight to them. He mentions Feathertail from RiverClan, and Nightheart grows uneasy again with more mentions of the Clan. Brambleclaw talks about meeting Midnight the badger, and how she was no ordinary badger. He says SkyClan wasn't with them at that point and it's thanks to Firestar that they survived. Brightheart asks Brambleclaw to tell them about Firestar, and Brambleclaw explains how Firestar saved and rebuilt SkyClan. Talking about Firestar so respectfully makes Brambleclaw look like he's a younger cat, which makes Nightheart happy. Ivypool cuts off Nightheart's thoughts and asks him to join a hunting patrol. Nightheart wants to stay and hear the story, but obliges. He thinks that although he has achievements of his own now, he's proud to be kin to Firestar. As he leaves, Brackenfur promises him that they'll tell him all about Firestar in due time.
Later on, Sunbeam and Nightheart are getting ready to sleep as Nightheart tells her that Wasp and Waffle loved hearing the stories from the elders, but he's worried with how eager they are with topics about RiverClan. Sunbeam isn't really listening, and she admits she's worried about her family, but doesn't want to cause troubles with Squirrelstar. Nightheart says she only just joined the Clan and can't give Squirrelstar any reasons to doubt her. Sunbeam agrees, but she'll talk to Squirrelstar about it tomorrow. Nightheart is glad she isn't arguing with him, but wonders if she'll go anyway to help, or bring them to ThunderClan, knowing it wouldn't go down well. He had hoped the difficult days were behind them, but new ones keep coming.

Mothwing saying that she saw how her dad lead ShadowClan in Chapter 4 is a once again hilarious continuity error just like when Tigerstar II "forgot" he fought in the Great Battle!
Love the elder focus in Chapter 5 <3 As well as the nostalgic mention of the Sundrown quest and Firestar as well as Feathertail.

Chapter 6: Sunbeam thinks to herself that it's a stupid idea, but goes along with it anyway. She stops just outside the leader's den, but Squirrelstar says she can scent her and tells her to come in anyway. Squirrelstar is sitting in her nest, Brambleclaw snoring beside her. Sunbeam says she hopes Squirrelstar doesn't doubt her loyalty to ThunderClan. Squirrelstar says she didn't, not until Sunbeam brought it up now. Embarassed, Sunbeam explains how she heard Berryheart, Sparrowtail, and Hollowspring were outside WindClan territory and with Berryheart being injured, she'd like to go check on them. Squirrelstar understands, and says it must be difficult since she switched Clans, and now her kin has been exiled. Sunbeam says she isn't sure they're cut for the rogue life, and that Nightheart encouraged her to speak with her new leader.
Squirrelstar says it isn't loyal of a ThunderClan warrior, sneaking off the territory like that. Sunbeam is heartbroken, but then realizes Squirrelstar is implicating she's okay with it. Squirrelstar says she would be very angry if said cat got caught, and Sunbeam agrees it would be a terrible thing to happen. Brambleclaw snorts in amusement beside Squirrelstar, which confirms to Sunbeam that Squirrelflight is fine. She silently thanks Squirrelstar and goes off to fetch Nightheart.
Nightheart and Sunbeam are heading out, and Nightheart questions if Sunbeam didn't just misunderstand Squirrelstar since Berryheart has been a real pain for both of them. Sunbeam says Berryheart probably doesn't want to see her, but she's her mother. Nightheart says he wishes he could go, but he has an obligation to help Waffle and Wasp, but suggests Bayshine to help her. Sunbeam declines, not wanting to get him in trouble. Nightheart purrs and wishes her luck, but warns her about bringing her kin to ThunderClan. Sunbeam brushes him off, saying that Berryheart is the most loyal ShadowClan cat she knows and she was so loyal, it got her exiled.
Sunbeam heads off to where her family was last spotted, evading a WindClan patrol. She approaches the horseplace, encountering Smoky. He beckons her closer and asks if she's a Clan cat. Sunbeam doesn't want to be rude even though she wants to see her family, and says she is. Smoky asks how Frostpaw is, mentioning that Daisy visits sometimes but couldn't give him any information. Sunbeam says she's fine, remembering Frostpaw's explanation at the gathering about how the twolegs treated her. Smoky says Frostpaw didn't want treatment, and his kits were worried Whistlepaw couldn't help her. He finishes that he's glad she's doing okay. Surprised, Sunbeam realizes that even though he's not a Clan cat, Smoky obviously cares about the them. Sunbeam says Frostpaw is alive and doing much better. Relieved, Smoky thanks her and he's glad he has an update for his kits. He wishes her well, and leaves her. Sunbeam heads off and picks up the scent of ShadowClan, approaching the top of a hollow.
Sparrowtail is crouching over Berryheart, worried and gently licking her ears. Hollowspring is trying to coax her to eat, and the scent of infection is all over Berryheart. Sunbeam asks what happened. Upon hearing her voice, Hollowspring and Sparrowtail look at her in shock. Sparrowtail asks what she's doing, but explains that Berryheart was evading a monster on the Thunderpath, but was injured by sharp twoleg objects on it (I think glass...?). Sunbeam realizes that Berryheart needs a medicine cat, and suggests that Berryheart be moved to the Horseplace, mentioning Smoky and his kits. She thinks Berryheart would be too proud to accept help, but she wants her mother to survive. Hollowspring and Sparrowtail are unsure. Berryheart seems to recognize Sunbeam, and says she's not accepting help from Smoky, nor the twolegs who "helped" Frostpaw, but she wouldn't expect anything less from Sunbeam. Sunbeam suggests asking Puddleshine or Shadowsight for help and Tigerstar might allow it. Berryheart says it's all Tigerstar's fault for casting her out. Sunbeam thinks that there's no way Berryheart can return to Clan life with such a hostile attitude. Especially considering she worked with Splashtail before being exiled.
Sunbeam asks if Berryheart knows Splashtail is now leader of RiverClan. Berryheart says she doesn't care about him. Sunbeam says she spent time with him, and asks if she has any idea what Splashtail truly wants. Berryheart tries to get up, but is clearly in pain. She says she only allied with him to remove Tigerstar from RiverClan and it failed, so she doesn't want to hear Splashtail's name at all. Sparrowtail eyes Sunbeam, and Sunbeam can see he's worried for Berryheart, and she realizes that although Berryheart is stubborn, Sparrowtail and Hollowspring are unsure about their new life.
Sunbeam suggests she and her brother go find some prey or herbs to help. Hollowspring mumbles that the prey around the area is rubbish and follows Sunbeam out. Once out of their parents' earshot, Sunbeam asks him to tell the truth. Hollowspring sighs, and admits he misses ShadowClan, and he thinks Berryheart does too. Not that she'd ever admit it. He says her injury has caused her to reflect more, and he thinks she's become more and more bitter and resentful. Sunbeam begins to harvest some horsetail, and Hollowspring says he tried catching a rabbit, but it ran onto WindClan territory, so it was a lost cause. Sunbeam thinks that her brother is still a Clan cat at heart since he's not stealing prey from WindClan. The two of them catch some more prey, and Sunbeam instructs Hollowspring to take back their findings, as she needs to head back to ThunderClan.
Hollowspring is shocked, and says he hoped she would stay longer. Sunbeam reluctantly declines, as she's been away too long as it is, but she promises to see him soon. She begins trekking back to ThunderClan, accidentally going onto WindClan's border. She realizes her mistake and is able to evade a WindClan patrol (consisting of Sedgewhisker, Flutterfoot, and Brindlewing) after they scent ThunderClan, and Sunbeam remarks to herself that it was a close call, heading back to ThunderClan's camp.

Love Squirrelstar allowing Sunbeam to go check up on her exiled family (and injured/sick mother specifically) as well as BrambleSquirrel still always being mentioned to sleep in the leader den together even after Brambleclaw became an elder. I really dislike them as a ship but do like their old married cat couple vibe if that even makes sense at this point.
Poor Berryheart. At least she didn't get directly hit by the monster (by how that part is worded). Because then her injuries would be much worse. But being cut by glass still sucks plenty. Not surprised by how she's treating Sunbeam (even though Sunbeam doesn't deserve it, of course).
Glad to see more interactions between Sunbeam and her brother Hollowspring, I do hope we'll see some more with him and her other brother Spireclaw as well.

Chapter 7: (I wrote this up on the previous thread, but Sand retrieved it and I added the missing content) At the medicine cat meeting, Puddleshine and Shadowsight agree to take Frostpaw with them, though reluctantly. Puddleshine is concerned with how the other medicine cats will take it, but Shadowsight is friendly with her and they two seem to be friends? Anyway, Puddleshine declines it, but Frostpaw says she'll come of her own accord since she's technically of no Clan, therefore Puddleshine isn't responsible for her, which seems to sway him.
At the meeting, Mothwing and Podlight don't show up. Alderheart seems to be uneasy about Frostpaw being there, but Shadowsight and/or Puddleshine defend her. Whistlepaw doesn't come with Kestrelflight, which makes Frostpaw believe that she's being punished for helping her. Moth and Pod finally come, and Jayfeather makes an abrasive remark about switching medicine cats again. Mothwing says he'll have to get used to it, but Jayfeather says it's quite strange and rather convenient that Podlight suddenly started receiving visions out of nowhere and appointing the cat that was well known to want leadership. Alderheart asks about Podlight's visions. Podlight says he got a vision of where to find marigold after Duskfur needed it, and he also had a vision of some twolegs dumping shiny things at the lakeshore. The medicine cats believe him, but Podlight says the one they should be questioning is Frostpaw since she's lied about her visions before.
Frostpaw says she was manipulated by her mother, but Podlight gets angry and says she's responsible for her own bad decisions. Frostpaw says she had a vision of Splashtail killing Reedwhisker, and she spoke to Riverstar. Everyone is awkwardly comprehending Frostpaw's claims, while Mothwing defends Splashtail and says he would never murder a cat since he is "chosen by StarClan". Fidgetflake asks if Podlight believes Splashtail is the right cat for leadership, and Podlight says he does. Podlight says that Frostpaw caused a lot of problems for RC when Mistystar died, and she's proven herself to be a liar. Alderheart asks why she would lie, and Podlight says he doesn't know, but she says Frostpaw has been through a lot in her life, such as witnessing her mother dying and living in exile.
Frostpaw forces herself to remain silent at Podlight's feigned sympathy, and she realizes that Podlight sounds like how Splashtail would talk, and figures Splashtail gave him instructions on how to deal with Frostpaw if she showed up there. Podlight continues, saying that Frostpaw clearly can't distinguish what is real anymore, and while there was a bad cat who sought leadership, he says Curlfeather is dead, and he's ashamed to be her littermate. He says how she became a ruthless killer, they'll never know. Frostpaw restrains herself from attacking him, but knows if it was just the two of them, she's attack him, thinking that both she and Curlfeather are ruthless.
Kestrelflight, annoyed, asks why they're debating it, and they ought to ask StarClan since they'll know the truth as opposed to Splash and Pod vs Frost. If StarClan doesn't object, then the matter is settled and RiverClan can get back to full strength.
Jayfeather says he wishes he could agree, but Splashtail isn't a proper leader until he's legitimized in the eyes of StarClan, and asks if Splashtail has his lives. Podlight awkwardly says he does not. Kestrelflight, angry now, yowls that "RiverClan's whole problem has been that hasn't had a leader chosen by StarClan! Isn't that right? And Podlight thinks he found the right leader, and he hasn't brought him to the Moonpool to get his nine lives?!"
Podlight defensively says Splashtail is more concerned with strengthening the Clan. Frecklewish retorts that that excuse doesn't work, since having a legitimate leader is strengthening the Clan. Podlight is at a loss for words, but then tries to say it's been overcast and he wan't to be 100% sure that Splashtail would meet StarClan. Jayfeather, losing his patience, lashes his tail and says it's been several clear nights since the gathering and demands to know how clear Podlight wants it, since StarClan still appears even with a single cloud in the sky. Frostpaw feels satisfaction as the senior medicine cats are clearly losing their temper with Podlight, and perhaps it will lead to Splashtail's undoing as leader.
Frostpaw realizes that it might be why Mothwing is so quiet. Mothwing knows Splashtail is afraid of what StarClan will say, so he doesn't intend to let them say anything at all. Alderheart demands that Podlight take Splashtail to the Moonpool immediately. Frecklewish warns Podlight that Leafstar will change her stance on Splashtail's leadership if he refuses to go, or if he's not accepted by StarClan.
Jayfeather says that it's the whole problem, and clearly either Podlight or Frostpaw are lying, and he's willing to bet it's Podlight. Frostpaw says she's the real RC medicine cat, and the reason Splashtail isn't here is because he knows StarClan will reject him. Podlight says she's no longer RC, which Mothwing backs him up on and she intends introduce Podlight as her new apprentice to StarClan. Mothwing does a small ceremony, asking StarClan to recognize Podlight as her new apprentice. StarClan remains silent, and none of the medicine cats cheer Podlight's name, which makes Frostpaw think that they all have their doubts that his intentions are genuine.
Puddleshine tells Podlight to go get Splashtail so he can get his lives. Jayfeather says if Splashtail doesn't, then he's assuming he's a fraud. All the other medicine cats, barring Mothwing, agree with Jayfeather. Podlight reluctantly agrees and says he'll compromise and talk to Splashtail as soon as he can. As the medicine cats speak to StarClan, Frostpaw has a vision about a river being swallowed up by the earth and covered in shadows and darkness. When they're done, she informs the others, and Podlight and Mothwing dismiss it as more lies. Alderheart says they should take it seriously, which Shadowsight agrees with, since it seems like it could mean RC could disappear forever. Frecklewish says that since the river fell into the shadows, it could mean that ShadowClan is responsible. Puddleshine says that ShadowClan isn't even occupying RC territory anymore. Frecklewish says perhaps the shadow is in reference to Frostpaw, since Tigerstar gave her refuge in ShadowClan.
Jayfeather disagrees and says it's stupid to believe that Frostpaw would cause problems for her own Clan. Alderheart agrees with him. Kestrelflight doesn't doubt Frostpaw, but he points out that StarClan didn't seem to reject Podlight either. Shadowsight says that he's spent enough time with Frostpaw to know she has a gift. Fidgetflake says that Shadowsight himself doesn't even have a connection to StarClan, to which Shadowsight says it doesn't mean he can't recognize someone who does. Jayfeather asks for Puddleshine's opinion, and Puddleshine says he isn't sure, and says just to wait for a definitive sign from StarClan before he voices his opinion, and suggests they all do the same. Frostpaw figures that StarClan won't accept a false leader and medicine cat. Mothwing says she'll strongly suggest coming to the Moonpool to Splashtail when the night is clear, and all of RiverClan's problems will go away.

I think I said this last time too, but if Podlight's the closest thing we'll get to an evil medicine cat (unless he turns around like Mothwing), I'll take it! Still kinda hoping for maybe an SE or a novella (if they ever get back to those) regarding the conspiracy in general.

Medicine cat meeting time!
So glad to read that Shadowsight and Frostpaw are considered friends <3 Although I still also want to see more actual interactions between them.
It's honestly kinda sad that Podlight is behaving this way towards his own niece. But hey, he's technically an evil medicine cat, which parts of the fandom has wanted for years so I'll take it. Maybe he'll redeem himself or get worse. Either way is fine by me at this point, honestly.
Love that Kestrelflight is getting some good lines as well as Jayfeather being his usual grouchy self.
It does seem like the other medicine cats are moreso on Frostpaw's side which is a relief. Mothwing is playing double agent here like she said she would since she needs to keep Splashtail happy for now.

Chapter 4: Seeing Tigertwo be reasonable is a bit jarring. But I guess he's only doing this because he now knows some cats have doubts about him. Either way, ironically I think he's still doing a better job than Squirrel is lol. Frostpaw being able to talk with Mothwing is nice. Mothwing is stronger than me, because Splashtail would have gotten some deathberries by now. But I can see how she doesn't want the clan to suffer despite Podlight not even trying to help. Chapter 5: Brightheart saying they should ask Bramblestar if he's comfortable with talking about the Dark Forest first before anything else is so nice. I'm glad the clan is being more mindful of his condition. The elders also talking about all their old stories and passing them down to a newer generation, even Nightheart noting how Bramblestar spoke about Firestar and how he seemed younger. All the callbacks, that's such a lovely chapter. I can't wait to read this one. Chapter 6: Again, seeing Squirrel be like this is just as bizarre as the change with Tigertwo. I like that Nightheart is supportive of his mate, even if it's with dealing with something as difficult as Berryheart of all things. Also, despite the terribly strained relationship, I guess it does make sense for Sunbeam to still worry for her kin. I do wonder though where things will go from here for Berryheart. Chapter 7: For once, I like Jayfeather speaking his mind again, I'm glad he called out how suspicious it was that Podlight started seeing visions suddenly. Podlight is also disgusting... treating your niece like trash, and blaming your own sister for the crime of the other cat you're defending. She can't even defend herself considering she's dead. Yeah Curlfeather was terrible, but even in that situation, I'd be angry if I were Frostpaw. It's also irritating to see how he talks to her, similar to Splashtail, it's a huge yikes. Mothwing letting the other medicine cats cook Podlight is satisfying.

Chapter 8: Nightheart is on guard waiting for Alderheart and Jayfeather as Sunbeam roots through their herb store. Nightheart spots the two of them arriving from gathering herbs, and warns Sunbeam. She orders him to stall them. Nightheart skids up to them, uneased by how Jayfeather seems to just stare through him, and stammers he's worried about Frostpaw, and asks how she's doing since she was at the half-moon meeting. Jayfeather seems surprised Nightheart asked a sensible question, and says he wouldn't worry since she's a strong young cat, and she has to be, since all she's been through would have destroyed a weaker cat. He then turns his attention to Squirrelstar's den, and orders Alderheart to follow him, laying their herbs at the entrance of the medicine den. Nightheart slinks after them, hoping to remain unseen.
Jayfeather tells Squirrelstar that he believes Frostpaw, and something must be done about Splashtail. Alderheart agrees, and Splashtail could do something dangerous. Squirrelstar, exasperated, says she agrees Frostpaw is telling the truth but she doesn't want to get involved since it's up to RiverClan to resolve it for themselves, otherwise it will cause problems. Jayfeather, annoyed, says the whole point of her becoming leader was so ThunderClan would have a more decisive leader than Brambleclaw, and she clearly isn't. Nightheart imagines Squirrelstar with an icy green glare at Jayfeather, but she instead says that Jayfeather is entitled to his opinion but she's the one with the -star suffix, and while she understands his concern, she doesn't want to make the issue worse now considering Splashtail is at least elected by RiverClan, and Tigerstar has removed himself from it. Jayfeather is heavily disapproving, but says it's her choice.
Jayfeather and Alderheart leave, and Nightheart sneaks back to the den entrance and asks to speak with her. Squirrelstar asks if it's about Frostpaw, and Nightheart says he's worried about her. Squirrelstar says she'd like to talk to Frostpaw herself, and says Nightheart can come with her. As they begin to leave, he spots Sunbeam innocently washing her paws to the side of the warriors' den, and he assumes she got what she needed. Nightheart goes to tell Wasp and Waffle he'll be back soon. Waffle is fine with it, while Wasp is uncertain. Squirrelstar puts Ivypool in charge of the camp.
Later, Squirrelstar and Nightheart are heading into the ShadowClan camp, following the patrol of Hopwhisker, Yarrowleaf, and Lightleap, feeling awkward encountering Sunbeam's best friend and knowing Lightleap tried to eject him from ShadowClan before. He awkwardly thinks about his time in ShadowClan, and how he ended up taking Sunbeam with him. As they enter the camp, Tigerstar emerges from his den and gives Squirrelstar a polite nod, asking what he can do for her. Squirrelstar asks to speak to Frostpaw, and Tigerstar says he's glad to see he's not the only leader taking the matter seriously and orders Lightleap to go and fetch Frostpaw.
Squirrelstar asks how Frostpaw is fitting in. Tigerstar says she's a fine medicine cat, though with the troubling news she gave him from RiverClan, he's thinking that ShadowClan may not be a temporary home for long. He explains that Splashtail plans to take revenge for his occupation of RiverClan. Squirrelstar asks if he plans to attack first. Tigerstar says he doesn't, and he doesn't plan to upset the other leaders if he can help it, but it doesn't mean he's not worried about what Splashtail is doing. Squirrelstar says she doesn't want to see war break out, and Tigerstar says neither does he, and the timing is terrible since he needs to unite his own Clan as it is. Tigerstar says that he wishes RiverClan had a different leader, since Splashtail has it, but clearly isn't satisfied with that. Squirrelstar says it's worrisome that the other Clans don't seem to stand up to him. Frostpaw comes to the leaders and Nightheart, and Tigerstar asks her to tell Squirrelstar what she told him.
Frostpaw explains her spying in RiverClan, and her vision at the Moonpool. Squirrelstar says it sounds like RiverClan might disappear. Nightheart thinks that with Mistystar's death, there had been no true leader of RiverClan since. Squirrelstar says Splashtail has the chance to prove he's the right leader. Frostpaw says Splashtail is putting off getting his nine lives, claiming they're less important than strengthening the Clan. Squirrelstar is surprised, and Frostpaw fears he's just going to keep putting it off until the Clan just accepts him as Splashtail, not Splashstar. Tigerstar says it's hard to believe a whole Clan would just reounce StarClan without a proper leader, RiverClan is obviously desperate for a leader from their own Clan and be independent again. He adds that even if Splashtail goes to the Moonpool, he's certain RiverClan's troubles aren't over.
Nightheart, knowing it isn't his place to speak but does anyway, asks what happens if Splashtail lies about the nine lives. Squirrelstar says she wouldn't put it past him, reminding Tigerstar of what happened with Nightstar back in the old forest. Tigerstar says Nightpelt lied to save his Clan, and was honorable for it. Squirrelstar sees it as if Splashtail is rejected by StarClan, he'd never admit it and just lie he got his lives and name, or he just keeps postponing it until RiverClan gives up and accepts a fraudulent leader. Either outcome isn't good for RiverClan.
Frostpaw says Squirrelstar is right, but wishes she wasn't. Squirrelstar and Nightheart soon head back, and Nightheart wonders if the Clans' troubles will ever end.

RiverClan is so going to attack ShadowClan next book fr.
I think it's a good thing that Squirrelstar and even Tigerstar II are now trying to avoid an all out big battle. Still think the latter is a piece of work though. And I still want a big battle lol.

Chapter 8: Jayfeather chewing out Squirrelflight is funny, not gonna lie. He's actually dropping some good opinions in this book, and I'm enjoying it. I'll be honest, the meeting they had between Squirrelflight and Tigertwo really didn't give much plot wise? Just felt like rehashed information that we already knew, and exchanging it between characters. But it's pointless since no plan came out of it??

Chapter 9: Squirrelstar and Nightheart are still in ShadowClan, so Sunbeam goes to Bayshine for his help in getting the herbs to Berryheart. She at first wonders if he would even agree, and she doesn't want to get him in trouble. Bayshine is playing with Spotfur's kits, pretending to be a badger while the kits clamber all over him. Bayshine greets her, asking if she's here to rescue him from the fierce warriors. Sunbeam, amused, says she's hunted with them and they're worthy opponents. Bristlekit looks up at Sunbeam and lifts up her tiny paw, unsheathing her claws and trying to intimidate Sunbeam. Sunbeam pleads for mercy. Spotfur comes over and says it's time for the kits to have a nap, thanking him for letting her have a break. Bayshine says not to mention it, happy to look after them. Graykit swipes Bayshine one final time and calls him a mangy badger as Spotfur leads them away, while Stemkit tells him not to come back.
Bayshine groans he loves the kits, but he's aching all over now. He asks if he can do something for her. Sunbeam awkwardly asks for his help, knowing she has to be honest with him about her intentions. To her surprise, Bayshine agrees readily and says he'll go tell Ivypool that they're going hunting. He comes back with some leaves and twigs, and says to cover up the herbs so Twigbranch, who is on guard, won't see what they're doing. The two leave camp, Twigbranch wishing them happy hunting, and towards the horseplace. As they approach the WindClan border, Sunbeam thanks him for helping, and she's again surprised by the genuine warmth and friendship from him as he tells her he hopes it works out for her, heading off to hunt. Sunbeam treks down near the Thunderpath, briefly scolding herself for getting too close to it, and thinks about how worried Sparrowtail was about Berryheart.
She finds the hollow they were in last time, and sees Berryheart's infection has grown worse. She's much skinnier and more lethargic. However, she does recognize Sunbeam. Sunbeam explains she's come to help with some herbs from ThunderClan. Berryheart snarls she doesn't want Clan herbs, and Sunbeam's heart aches with how stubborn her mother is being. Sunbeam asks Sparrowtail to come hunt with her, asking if Berryheart will allow it. Berryheart gives a dismissive sniff, which Sunbeam interprets as confirmation. Sparrowtail follows Sunbeam out, and once out of Berryheart's earshot, Sunbeam explains which herb does what. Sparrowtail says he'll find a way to sneak it into Berryheart's food, but he knows she needs a medicine cat and no matter how hard he tries, she is refusing help and he doesn't know if he can save her from herself.
Sparrowtail says he and Hollowspring have made a plan, and that in three days time, he's going to bring Berryheart to ThunderClan, whether she likes it or not. He asks Sunbeam if she can meet them at the Thunderpath at that time. Sunbeam is uncertain, remembering Nightheart's comments about having her kin join ThunderClan. Then she realizes that while Squirrelstar may reject them, Jayfeather and Alderheart would not, and face the consequences later.
Sparrowtail and Sunbeam finish hunting, and Sunbeam bids farewell, wishing to catch back up with Bayshine to avoid suspicion. She goes through WindClan territory. She spots a patrol consisting of Hootwhisker, Crowfeather, and Appleshine and hides, but they spot her. Crowfeather says Sunbeam is a long way from home and begins to explain, but Appleshine says she's been stealing prey. Sunbeam says she hasn't. Crowfeather doesn't check to see if Sunbeam had been stealing, but tells Appleshine to keep quiet and Sunbeam is an honorable cat. He turns back to Sunbeam, and says he figures she's been visiting her kin beyond the border. She says she was, and she was trying to get back home quickly since it was growing dark, figuring nobody would mind. Crowfeather says he minds, and orders Hootwhisker and Appleshine to finish the patrol while he takes her back to camp. Sunbeam begs him not to, profusely apologizing. Crowfeather isn't sympathetic, and says she'll speak to Harestar.
As Crowfeather leads her to their camp, the thought of facing Harestar, and ineveitably Squirrelstar, makes her belly churn. She worries what Bayshine will think, and how she's let him down. As they enter the WindClan camp, she thinks that while it's unappealing to her, it must be lovely for WindClan cats. Crowfeather stops outside Harestar's den, and takes some time, leaving Sunbeam awkwardly standing outside. As she waits, Whistlepaw comes up to greet her, and Sunbeam explains she trespassed on the territory and was caught. Whistlepaw asks if she can do anything to help, and Sunbeam declines. Sunbeam admits she's less worried about Harestar, and moreso about Squirrelstar. Whistlepaw says she's punished for helping Frostpaw, and is banned from leaving camp or going to gatherings until Kestrelflight allows otherwise. Their conversation is cut short by Harestar and Crowfeather, and Whistlepaw wishes her good luck and leaves.
Harestar asks her if she was visiting her family. Sunbeam says she was, and Harestar asks why she didn't just go around the lake where she's allowed to be. Sunbeam says she wanted to go home since it was getting dark, and she was stupid. Harestar, amused, says it obviously didn't work out for her, and he's keeping her overnight. Sunbeam tries to object, but Harestar cuts her off and says it's truly for her own safety since foxes and badgers will be about, and he won't risk WindClan warriors escorting her. He gently says he won't punish her, since he fully expects Squirrelstar to. Sunbeam, ashamed, knows that even though Squirrelstar allowed her to go see her family, she was not to get caught. And yet, here she was.
She grumbles a thank you to Harestar, and promises never to trespass again. Crowfeather gently nudges her and says he'll find her a place to sleep. Sunbeam doesn't think she sleep though, worried about what Nightheart, Bayshine, and Squirrelstar will think about her.

She has seemed to always want to do things her own way but now that she is leader she has to handle things more cautiously. I feel like I'd respect her more if she stood by her own guns, and did what she usually did. But if anything this just feels hypocritical by her own moral when it comes to her stagnant character writing... She's one of the most consistent characters, but suddenly now she pulls a 180 because she's leader? I think it's interesting she gave Bramble so much of a hard time, but when she's the one in the same position, she suddenly "understands".
