ββββ-γπΌγββββ- Clamwhisper with Splashwing the camp @ Sand Clamwhisper was immediately on alert when he not just anyone, but Splashwing calling out his name. The brown and white tabby tom sat up a little bit straighter and his smile brightened as watched his friend trot over. "About time you showed up, champ. I was beginning to think you'd forgotten about me." The senior warrior never missed a chance to give his friend a hard time as he showed off a good-natured grin, then leaned down to nose the rabbit over to the other tom. They weren't the most common prey to find on the territory, so he thought it would be a nice gesture to offer Splashwing. It was the least he could to do for someone so close to him.
"I've been alright, nothing out of the ordinary to report. What about yourself?" He spoke as he turned his squirrel over before taking a bite out of it. It was nice a plump, a sign that new-leaf really was here to stay. Once the prey were fattening up, it meant their bellies would be full for the next couple of seasons. Clamwhisper licked his whiskers after he swallows, casting his gaze over to Seastar's den. His ear twitched and he nodded to Splashwing. "Has he even left his den today?" Clamwhisper asked in a soft tone, worried he was starting to sound like Coconutfur, or Reefsong. He wasn't looking to gossip, but it was concerning just how little they saw of their leader.

Mantasplash | the shore | with Drifttumble Κα΄α΄ΚΚα΄Κα΄α΄ Β»
"Hah! If you think you can catch a fish before me you must still be half asleep!" Mantasplash insisted, squinting a little when the wave of water hit her, rewetting her already damp black fur "How about we make a wager? Something to make this more interesting." she suggested, glancing over at the tom. Winning in itself was often reward enough for Mantasplash, but Drifttumble was likely to take her up on it as he seemed to be equally as competitive as her.
"Like... if I win you have to do one thing I tell you to. Within reason of course, I won't tell you to stop being a flirt. I'm afraid that might actually send you to Starclan. And I'm sure the rest of the clan would be sad to lose you at such a young age." she joked, flicking an ear.
Rookpaw | the shore | with Sharktooth πβππ π£π
The sand under paw made things difficult, Rookpaw almost even slipped when a particularly soft patch of sand gave way. But he was determined to see this through, even if it meant he'd be grooming sand out of his dark fur for the rest of the week. Rookpaw grit his teeth and righted himself, losing speed and ground but not losing the crab entirely. He started to herd the crab towards the water, wondering if it would simple disappear into the waves once they reached it.
Was Sharktooth wanting him to catch it before it reached the water? If so Rookpaw would have a hard time. It seemed that running on the sand was something he would have to actively work to get better at. Not to mention the toll it took on him, he'd hardly been running at all and he was already far more tired than he normally would be!
Puffinkit | in camp | with Sweetkit & Toadkit -` gumi Β΄- .β« πΎ Headphone Actor
Puffinkit jumped a little when her brother came out. They were really doing this! It was hard to tell if she was just nervous, or excited. Finally Sweetkit joined them and they were set! The last big hurdle was escaping camp without anyone noticing them. And since Sweetkit seemed to have a plan, why not follow her? Puffinkit had never been much of a leader, so she was happy to toddle after her sister excitedly.
It took a little pushing, but Puffinkit finally joined her sister on the other side of the wall "Wow!" she chirped, looking around "Everything is so big! And open!" outside there was so wall keeping them stuck inside, there was forest as far as you could see! Sure, that meant there was no protection, but that worrisome fact wasn't even a blip on Puffinkits radar. She was much too excited to get a story out of their little adventure.

-- heres that starter for you sand :3 -- MARBLESKIP - - β
she/he/they
with coconutfur [ in camp ] | Sand The warm sun was one of the many things the young tortoiseshell tabby warrior enjoyed when walking out of the warriors den. It was always their favorite thing, and it provided the best feeling when she stretched out her paws and yawned, claws digging into the earth as she did so. The seasons were growing longer, and with a long new-leaf and green-leaf meant more time to prepare for any sort of cold season to come.
Shaking out his pelt, Marbleskip sat up straight, looking around the camp slowly. By the scent of it, Marshclaw, Eelstrike and Reefsong had all been in camp and eventually took off. It left the young feline wondering if any sort of patrols had been set up. Waving their tail, they snorted in slight disinterest. Marshclaw never set up patrols before going out and chatting, so why would he this time? Also, nothing was telling her she couldn't set up any patrols. As he gazed around slowly, his amber gaze rested on a pelt of brown fur. Coconutfur! Maybe she'll be interested in going for a walk or even hunting with me. Maybe I can tell her its for a patrol that Marshclaw set up or somethin'. The torbbie, thought, pondering the idea before standing up and making their way over to the cat of interest, dipping their head respectfully.
"Mornin' Coconutfur." Marbleskip mewed in a kind, but nonchalant tone. She lifted her head once against to look the other warrior over, making sure she wasn't busy with her own ordeals. Afterall, if Coconutfur was busy, then the plan would be kaput. Sure, Marbleskip could go out by himself, but he much preferred company from the other cats he shared his life with and lived with. "I was thinkin' about goin' on a patrol. Would you like t'go with me? We can hunt, or like, patrol the borders. Whichever you prefer, I suppose." The feline spoke, sitting down and curling their tail around their paws as they waited for a response.
Truthfully, it was all a ruse to get out of camp, but Marbleskip didn't think any other cats would mind getting out either. Sometimes the camp just felt confining, and he wanted to get out of that for a few hours. Hopefully Coconutfur agreed.

(Thank you for saying that! I really love the interaction between him and Bubble too Shellstreak | at the salty marshes | with Bubblewhisker (-` gumi Β΄- .β« πΎ )
The ginger tabby's gaze followed where the silver warrior was pointing, and when he found the place she'd spotted, his eyes lit up. "That seems like a very suitable place for the frogs to hide in," Shellstreak agreed enthusiastically. He glanced around the roots carefully. With the plants entangled, the location served as a perfect hiding place for frogs, yet it might be dangerous to stick one's paws in. He thought about warning the queen before the hunting begins, but the thought was quickly forgotten when he glimpsed something flick in the marshes.
In a heartbeat, the tom rushed up to the plants and hooked out his paws. Disappointingly, the creature that flicked in the muddy water was a small minnow; it swam swiftly away at the large movements of the tom. Also startled were some other creatures that were resting under the lillypad, and they came bouncing out from their original resting place, catching the tom by surprise.

Conchsong | leaving camp | with Rainpetal (πβππ π£π)
Conchsong purred as she heard the grey tabby molly pressured her about the source of the news. That's just half-admitting it was true, she thought secretly to herself. She returned the innocent look to the other warrior, glancing up with her widened green eyes. "I promise you, I never blindly believe in any nonsense chitchat from any other warrior," she replied. As she followed the grey tabby into the forest, she mewed, "I agree. There weren't a lot of new things going on lately. Seeing Drifttumble's flirting is cute, and I do occasionally wonder where Nightingalefrost went, but I haven't found anything new to talk about lately." She glanced around the forest as they travel towards the river. "When do you think Seastar would recover from his shock?" The question was thrown out abruptly at one of the gossip topics Rainpetal had mentioned, as it was the only one Conchsong was truly interested in.

The urge to hiss at Eelstrike was getting harder and harder to ignore. If it weren't for their mutual friendship to Marshclaw she'd probably despise the black tom. A part of her had to be grateful for him, however. An unfortunate consequence of hers and Marshclaw's fling was a litter that Reefsong swears to Starclan she lost in the terrible storm that hit Oceanclan sixteen moons ago. She and Otterfoot, the tom she was briefly mates with, and also swears was the father to the "lost" kits, were devasted when she found him in the aftermath and had to deliver the bad news. Fortunately, another queen also started kitting during the storm and had six beautiful kittens, Marshclaw's mother. After such a tragedy no one questioned the orange molly, and any suspicion of the events were never voiced. Eelstrike is the only one left, besides Marshclaw and Reefsong, who's still alive that knows the truth. But she didn't have to worry about him going around spilling their secrets.
Instead, she just sneered at tom as he took his spot to the right of Marshclaw and pointed her nose in the air. "As a matter of fact, I had a lovely rest. Maybe you should try a good night's sleep sometime. Might be nice to have one day where you're not completely insufferable." She said with a huff, about to continue on a tangent when she realized Marshclaw had guided them to the docks. When the large tom turned to them, she snapped her mouth shut and looked up at him while settling beside Eelstrike. While it was fun to bicker with the other, she could tell that now was the time to listen up.
Reefsong cast a sideways glance to Eelstrike as Marshclaw went on to explain his plan, his impatience to get things moving was palpable. She nearly waited to hear what their more level-headed friend would say before deciding to speak first. "I don't think it's the worst plan in the world. We're basically at a stalemate if Seastar refuses to leave his den." She said, wanting to make sure Marshclaw knew she wasn't against his idea. "However, I do think it should be someone else that gives him the prey. If the clan discovers the prey is poisoned then suspicion will eventually fall on you. Would it be too risky if we could somehow trick Bubblewhisker into giving it to him?" Reefsong suggested, looking between the toms to gauge their reactions. ββββ-γπΌγββββ- Pearlskimmer with Nightingalefrost outskirts of salty marshes @ πβππ π£π Pearlskimmer gasped when she heard Nightingalefrost's voice coming from the shadows, her tail lashing in frustration. "Don't do that! You scared me half to death." She said with a sigh, padding closer to try and get a better look at her brother, trying to see what kind of state he was in. Guilt was quick to wash over her, not having meant to raise her voice at him. Pearlskimmer shuffled her paws nervously and cleared her throat. "Sorry, I didn't mean to raise my voice."
The torbie molly squinted her eyes and craned her neck, finding it difficult to really make out the shape of her brown tabby brother, she could barely see his white-furred chin. "I figured you were going to say something like that, but I needed to see for myself that you were still doing okay. No one's been able to spot you for weeks now." Pearlskimmer tried to take another pawstep forward, worried she might spook Nightingalefrost away if she got too close. "Ghostripple asked if anyone had seen you." A bit of a fib. To be fair, while Ghostripple hadn't said anything, she had caught her sister staring off into the trees the other day while they were hunting together. She thought that if she'd mention the molly, it might sway Nightingalefrost to not run off immediately.
"So, how've you been? It's good to see you're still alive."

they are going to be frog buddies i already know it /pos maybe bubble will develop a crush (mayhaps) since she's trying to distance from Seastar since he's basically MIA and never leaves his den anymore (probably afraid to lose more lives) i also realllllllyyy love bubble and shell's chemistry just from them hunting together BUBBLEWHISKER - - β
Bubblewhisker was going to try her paw at fishing anything out of the entangled roots, but her attention was thrown back towards the tom who immediately darted towards movement in the marshy waters near the Lilypad's. She purred in amusement and padded towards him, bumping her head into his shoulder gently. "You have a good eye, even if you-" She cut off as the creatures jumped out of their hiding spot under the Lilypad. The silver tabby stumbled back, ducking to avoid getting jumped on. She ultimately lost her footing, tumbling over the rooms and into the muddy water.
Thankfully, the water wasn't deep. However, it was sticky and wet mud that unfortunately clung to her pelt. The once silver tabby looked like she could've been the mother of the brown tabbies within the clan now. With a huff, Bubblewhisker shook herself out, playfully flicking some mud onto Shellstreak's pelt. "I guess they weren't expecting an early home eviction." She joked playfully, shaking her coat out once again before padding towards the Lilypad's again. "Well, we know that they live under the Lilypad's now. Guess we'll just have to be quicker if we wanna catch any frogs from them." The silver tabby mewed before looking around. Her blue eyes landed on another group of Lilypad's.
Nudging Shellstreak, Bubblewhisker gestured with her maw towards the lush vegetation in the marsh. "Let's try there. We have a bit of an idea on how they'll react now if there's anymore frogs hiding under them." She suggested, blue eyes glittering. She was really enjoying her little hunting mission with the tom. It was fun- the most fun she had had in a while. At least since Seastar stopped stepping out of his den. Her chest tightened at the thought. She missed him, but he was no longer then tom she fell in love with. She wanted to move on, and what better way than to busy herself with the other cats in the clan? Bubblewhisker could hope that these little outings would repair her heart.

Splashwing camp β accompanied by: Clamwhisper he/him - warrior Splashwing rolled his eyes playfully at Clamwhisper as soon as he heard his retort. He gazed across the camp from their usual eating spot, wondering where Marshclaw had headed off to. The white and black tom had joined the dawn patrol earlier in the morning, so his day had been pretty busy up until now. When he had finally noticed the rabbit, he grinned at Clamwhisper. He knows my favorite prey, the senior warrior thought with contentment. Although rabbits weren't common in OceanClan's territory, Splashwing still loved the taste of it. Fish was second best to rabbit in his opinion.
The senior warrior sat down next to Clamwhisper before digging into his meal. His ears pricked up at the sound of his best friendβs question, pausing to think about his morning. "Dawn patrol was uneventful thankfully," the white and black warrior responded, pawing at his rabbit. "Although I feel like somethingβs off by the Salt Marshes."
When he heard the brown and white tabby mention Seastar, he stopped eating immediately. In Splashwingβs defense, he had forgotten about the old tom, who seemed to always be holed up in his den. "Yβknow, thatβs a good question, Clamwhisper," he meowed in a quiet tone, glancing in the direction of the leaderβs den. "I donβt even remember the last time he left his den. Have you seen him lately?"
Splashwing didnβt want to come off as a gossiper, but he did worry about the elderly leader. He wasnβt too sure if Marshclaw was experienced enough to take on the leaderβs role, but what if Seastar chose to retire? That could even things out a bit. "Do you think heβs still a good leader?" the bicolor tom asked out of the blue.

Coconutfur camp β accompanied by: Marbleskip she/her - warrior Coconutfur was being her usual, lazy self as she sat in the camp clearing. Her gaze shifted ever so slowly, watching as the commotion unfolded in camp. Cats were moving in and out of OceanClanβs camp like clockwork. She was too busy watching her surroundings to realize that Marbleskip was headed her way.
The warrior yawned, clearly bored with her environment. Her eyelids were flickering rapidly as she struggled to stay awake. Coconutfur knew that Reefsong had left with Marshclaw and Eelstrike not too long ago. She had no business with the two toms, so she preferred to stay far from that strange group. She had no clue what Reefsong saw in either tom whether it was platonic or romantic. As for Cloudyfur, she had no clue where the molly was. Maybe she had followed Drifttumble out of camp.
Alas, it was a shame for Coconutfur as she was without her trusty gossipers. The brown and white molly pressed her head down onto her paws with a loud, exaggerated grumble. Before she could even close her eyes, a familiar tortoiseshell tabby cat appeared before her, startling the molly. "For StarClanβs sake, Marbleskip!" she yowled, leaping into the air. She hadnβt noticed Marbleskipβs previous nod towards her either which was, to say the least, embarrassing. "I only have one life, you know! Iβd like to live it without being scared by my clanmate!"
Coconutfur sat back down on her hind legs, licking her white chest fur in embarrassment. By now, the whole clan had heard her scream like a helpless kit. She turned towards her new companion with a disgruntled look on her face. She wasnβt going to apologize for screaming, if anything Marbleskip needed to apologize for scaring her. "Fine, I guess I can go with you," she meowed begrudgingly, glancing at the tortoiseshell tabbyβs pretty amber eyes.
She froze for a moment as she tried to decide between hunting and patrolling the borders. Did it really matter? Both tasks were boring as sin in Coconutfurβs opinion. "I donβt care what we do or where we go, Marbleskip," she told the torbie as she got to her paws. "Just pick one. You could take me all the way to the ocean and I wouldnβt care."

Waterripple with alderberry Sand
The dilute molly snorted, Seastar. She was better off talking to a rock. Marshclaw may have been a painfully annoying furball, but he at least tended to his clan. He picked up where their leader fell short. Which happened to be a lot of areas.
Watterripple shrugged at the idea of her sister taking her spot in her patrols, "You could, if Palmbreeze watches the kits. Littlebee can't help out forever, she'll have her kits to look out for soon." Besides, she wasn't too keen on watching her sister's children herself. In a perfect world, that's what she should do. But Waterripple wasn't perfect, and she disliked the kits. A hundred patrols would be better than overseeing the little sandfleas. If only times were simpler, she and her sisters would go out whenever they wanted to. They were thick as thieves in their youth, not that they were much older now. But then Palmbreeze came along, and he ruined everything. She despised the time for how he'd done her sister. Taking care of four kits all on her own while he turned a blind eye.
"Do you want me to talk to him?" She asked, unable to suppress the growl that rumbled at the thought of the tom. She was getting herself worked up, and rightfully so. "I'll give him something to run away from." Waterripple had a good clawing awaiting the sand-colored cat. No one would hurt her family. Not her sisters, not her mother, no one. If Palmbreeze thought he'd continue to get off unscathed, he had another thing coming.
A part of her felt like a hypocrite. She didn't visit the nursery nearly as much as she should have. But she couldn't help her feelings toward kits or parenthood. It was all so much. Overwhelming and scary. And look at Alderberry? What if some tom came along and trapped her with kits? He could try. She thought with a small scoff.
"Other than the absurd number of patrols, and worrying about you, I'm fine."
Eelstrike tuned Reefsong out as they walked. Stars, was she annoying, like a fly that buzzed and buzzed and never went away. A fly he would've squashed a long time ago if it hadn't been for the warrior code. But, then again, they were already breaking the rules. What was stopping him? The black tom glanced over his shoulder at the molly, contemplating his options. It would be easy, killing her. Marshclaw might be upset, but he'd get over it once he rose to leadership. He briefly snapped away from his thoughts to take in their surroundings; they were going to the docks. It was the one place they could safely discuss their sinful plans. He settled below Marshclaw, looking out at the body of water as the deputy explained his new plan. Perhaps he could push Reefsong into the ocean. OceanClan cats were skilled swimmers, but only the skilled could swim this deep. Eelstrike could push her in while she wasn't paying attention... Where did Reefsong disappear off to? His clanmates would ask. Sinking to the bottom of the ocean floor. Yellow eyes flickered over to the ginger she-cat, imagining such a delicious scenario. But a sigh escaped him that would be too easy. Poisoning Seastar was another scenario that seemed too easy. He snorted at Reefsong's suggestion, giving an impatient flick of his tail. "Yes, we could poison him. But suspicions will rise either way. What will cats think when only our useless leader is affected by this sudden poisoned prey? And why tonight?" The big tom jumped to his paws, still staring off into the distance as a plan formed in his brain. "We'll plant a few poisoned morsels, no more than two or three. You're the deputy, you can organize a hunting assessment for all the apprentices. Reefsong and I can pick an apprentice to follow, taint their catches, and slip away before anyone knows. That is," Eeelstrike looked at the molly with a mocking grin, "If she doesn't mistakenly poison herself. We know what a clutz you can be." Perhaps he could poison her since they'd already be poisoning cats... a small sacrifice to benefit Marshclaw.
"And once Seastar is weakened, you can make your move. Preferably, not messy, but that's only if you like my course of events." Eelstrike was not the cat running this show. He just had ideas- ideas that meshed. Marshclaw tended to put all his eggs in one nest when there were multiple, cleaner, possibilities. But to him, it was the perfect plan. Using their clanmates to be the mere puppets they were. No one would suspect a thing.

Alderberry oceanclan territory β accompanied by: Waterripple she/her - queen Alderberry wasnβt so sure if she trusted Marshclaw with his duties as a deputy. Of course he was more active in his role compared to Seastar. She found the old white tom to be worn out and deserved to retire. It was unfortunate that Seastarβs career had turned into a catastrophe, but there wasnβt much any cat could do about that. Hopefully he would realize that retirement was a better option compared to hiding in his den all day.
The dilute calicoβs ears pricked up, surprised by Waterrippleβs reaction to her taking some patrols. It would be a nice way for her to ease back into warrior duties. Maybe she could even take Wavepaw out! That was more of a pipe dream, but stillβ¦ there was some hope. βGreat! Iβll have to find him after our walk and see if he will agree. Youβre right, Littlebee has more important things to do. I just hope the kits would be okay without me,β she responded, tail wagging with excitement.
Alderberry knew Waterripple wouldnβt offer to watch the kits. It was a disappointment, but she could kind of understand her sisterβs opinion. The queen wasnβt going to beg the dilute calico for her help even if she desperately wanted it. I could ask Coralspeckle to watch them, maybe she wouldnβt mind, she wondered, then remembering their father, Minnowslip. Surely he too was capable of keeping the kits busy, right?
At the sound of Waterrippleβs growl, the dilute calico turned her head towards her littermate. "I suppose you can try and talk to him. It wouldnβt hurt," she meowed, curious as to what her sibling would say to Palmbreeze.
She did miss her youthful days when she and Waterripple could do whatever they wanted. Had Palmbreeze really trapped her with her four kits? It was hard to imagine her life without her kits, especially after a long pregnancy. Although if Waterripple spoke to the sand colored tabby, he would be willing to listen. She found her sisterβs hatred to be scary enough. "Iβm curious, what would you tell him?" she questioned, glancing at her.
The queen continued padding forward, holding back a mrrow of amusement at her sisterβs reply. "You shouldnβt worry about me. Iβm fine too," Alderberry insisted, trying to reassure the molly. She bumped her shoulder against hers softly. "Once we get to the shore, you can finally rest and relax."

Sharktooth
Sharktooth laughed as they watched their apprentice chase after the hermit crab. It might have seemed a little silly, and was far from the conventional sort of training that Sharktooth should probably be giving their apprentice, but in their opinion, this was much more fun.
βYouβre doing great, Rookpaw! Get it back in the water!βSharktooth called, a soft purr emitting from their throat as they watched Rookpaw. Once the hermit crab had slipped back into the water, Sharktooth would explain why they had instructed Rookpaw to chase it around for seemingly no reason, but for now, they were content to sit back and watch.

Rainpetal
Rainpetal nodded in approval when Conchsong reassured her that she didnβt listen to the gossip. βSmart,β she commented and flicked her tail as she padded down a familiar path within the forest. βHalf of the gossip you hear probably isnβt true anyways. Weβre by ourselves out here in OceanClan, other than the occasional loner or rogue who wanders into our territoryββ Rainpetal tensed slightly as she mentioned rogues.
She knew plenty about the rogues who wandered into OceanClan territory, and Rainpetal could only hope that one rogue in particular, continued to keep his distance from the clan.
Shaking her head, Rainpetal looked away from Conchsong and continued. βWe have to keep ourselves entertained somehow, I suppose. Even if I still think itβs better to stay out of otherβs business for certain things,β Rainpetal added.
When Conchsong brought up Seastar, Rainpetal hummed softly, mulling it over. Icepaw was her second apprentice and Rainpetal knew he was ready to move on and join the warriors. She had done her job to train him, just as she had trained Palmbreeze, though Rainpetal couldnβt claim that Wavepaw was as ready as her brother. βHe might be waiting until both Wavepaw and Icepaw are ready, so he can give them their warrior names together,β she mused softly. βThough itβs hard to tell much of anything heβs thinking nowadays.β
It was no secret that the once ambitious Seastar had fallen into a slump when it came to leading the clan. Rainpetal didnβt like to speak poorly of her own leader, but she couldnβt help but wonder if Seastar had lost interest in his role as leader, and if that was the case, then the whole clan would suffer for it.

Lilykit
Lilykit stared back at Littlebee as the queen watched her. By now, her siblings had snuck out, but if Lilykit wanted to join them, sheβd have to find a way to shake Littlebee off her tail. Clearly, the expecting queen knew Lilykit was up to something, which made it all the harder to sneak out.
Luckily, Lilykit was smart, and as she looked around the nursery, she quickly got an idea. βHave you had anything to eat yet, Littlebee? Youβre doing such a good job looking after us, I bet youβre hungryββ Lilykit paused to look at her stomach. βIβm sort of hungry tooβ¦I know, Iβll get you the juiciest mouse from the fresh kill pile for breakfast and we can share it! Doesnβt that sound just lovely?β Lilykit decided loudly, and, not giving the queen a chance to argue with her, she padded out of the Nursery and made a point of walking right over to the fresh kill pile.
She hummed loudly, as if contemplating what to get as she looked at the pile. However, as she sat in front of the fresh kill pile, her eyes wandered, searching for her litter mates. Soon enough, she spotted them scaling the wall to leave the camp.
Lilykit smirked and discreetly got back to her feet, lifting her head high in the air as she padded toward them. So long as she acted like she knew what she was doing and was perfectly in the right, hopefully none of the few remaining warriors in the camp would notice her.
Soon she made it to the wall and lifted her chin. βSweetkit, Puffinkit, Toadkit! Wait for me!β She whispered, hoping to get their attention. βI think I distracted Littlebee, but I donβt know how long we have, if we wanna get out of here, we gotta act fast,β Lilykit added.

Nightingalefrost
Nightingalefrost kept to the shadows, even as Pearlskimmer moved to get a better look at him. He had always been good at hiding just out of sight, keeping to the shadows and treading lightly on his paws. Besides, it was easier if Pearlskimmer couldnβt get a good look of him. Nightingalefrost refused to admit it out loud, but the last few weeks away from the clan had not been good to him. He knew his fur had begun to mat and with the lack of prey, he wouldnβt be surprised if he looked a little leaner than he had before.
He couldnβt admit that though, he had made his choice and Nightingalefrost intended on seeing it through.
βGhostripple didnβt ask about me,β he argued with a light scoff, flicking his tail at the thought. Ever since their parents had passed away, Nightingalefrost couldnβt claim to have been close with any of his siblings, including Ghostripple. βYou shouldβve said Puddleheart or Marbleskip,β he added quietly. βThat mightβve been a bit more believable.β
Out of all his siblings, if any of them were to ask about him, Nightingalefrost would assume it would be one of those two, or even Pearlskimmer herself.
Sighing, Nightingalefrost curled his tail over his paws and found a spot to sit down. βIβm fine, Pearlskimmer,β he answered curtly. βYou shouldnβt be talking to me. I left the clan, you shouldβ¦β he trailed off, looking around. βYou should chase me off, like you would any other loner or rogue,β Nightingalefrost determined with a nod of his head.

ββββ-γπΌγββββ- Sandflower with Brineshade camp @ Headphone Actor Sandflower had found herself a sunny little corner of the camp, basking her fur in the warm rays and nearly dozing off in the late morning. It was Coconutfur's yowl that startled the sandy furred molly awake, causing her to sit up straight and clamp her mouth shut from any response that might cause a glare from the already riled up Coconutfur. While she hid a chuckle under her breath, Sandflower got up from her sunbathing spot and padded further into camp, taking a look around at anyone who seemed to be by themselves.
From her observations, it looked like cats were starting to form groups and head out into the territory, her green eyes followed the Marshclaw, Reefsong, and Eelstrike trio slip out the exit. Her gaze lingered there for a while before she turned her head and immediately caught sight of Brinehade. Her instinct was to go up to him and cheerfully give her greeting, but her paws faltered. Sandflower couldn't remember the last time she'd actually gone to talk to the black furred tom without getting more than three words in response. Something in her heart sank, knowing that he'd actually been deeply struggling with the loss of his mate, and then with Breezepaw's condition being so touch and go when he was a kit. The thought of Breezepaw brought a purr rumbling in her throat as she recalled the young apprentice, and how she'd recently gotten him to open up to her. She didn't think she'd ever known as talkative as Breezepaw when he got on a topic he liked.
Letting out a lengthy exhale, her paws once again moved as she approached Brineshade. Maybe today he'd be feeling extra chatty. "Brineshade, hi!" She spoke in her ever cheery voice, a classic Sandflower smile lining her ginger face. "Are you busy right now? I was thinking it was the perfect day to go on a quick patrol to the shore, maybe sneak in a swim if we can help it?" There was a hopeful glint in her eyes as she wondered if he'd actually take her up on her offer, or politely decline like every other time. ββββ-γπΌγββββ- Clamwhisper with Splashwing camp @ Sand Clamwhisper had settled to lay down, his partially eaten squirrel resting between his front paws. The white and brown tabby tom licked his whiskers clean, curiosity piquing his interest at Splashwing's concern over activity in the Salty Marshes. He turned his head to the side and looked at his friend, wanting to ask for some context on why the other senior warrior thought so, even trying to think back on his own if he'd spotted any suspicious activity in the marshes.
Before he could come to any immediate conclusion, Clamwhisper was pretty shocked by Splashwing's question. He took another quiet moment to think about it, though his gut immediately knew the answer. The older warrior let out a sigh, sounding more tired than ever, and shifted back to sit on his haunches. "It's hard to say." He said, only because he didn't want to give away his answer too quickly.
"I think he has the potential to still be a good leader, if he were to leave his den every once in a while." Again, his orange eyes focused on the entrance of the leaders den, a frown now forming on his face. "If anything I just miss seeing him." Clamwhisper confessed, missing the days when all three toms would go out on a sunny afternoon and explore the marshes, back when they were fresh warriors and had something to prove. He couldn't recall when their trio became a duo, but if he had to guess it was sometime after Seastar had lost his first life. There were times when he wanted to go and check on the leader, not out of concern as a clanmate, but as a friend. "To tell you the truth, Splashwing, I don't think Seastar has been a good leader for quite some time."

Littlebee
Lillykit offered to gather her some prey then dashed. Why is she in such a hurry to get prey? That sparked her suspicion and she peered out of the nursery entrance but she couldnβt see much from in her nest. She decided to trust her temporarily. She knew how much trouble lillykit could get into when not being supervised.

oh lookie !! replies :3 Fire & Sweet are on hold for now until the others all reply as well<33 bc order u know MARSHCLAW - - β
Claws dug in and out of the splintering wood belonging to the thick dock post that the dark tabby tom sat on. He waved his tail slowly, listening to both of his friends for a moment. The three all tended to balance each other out- while Marshclaw was the one with the ambitions to even rise in power, Reefsong and Eelstrike were both his partners in crime. They tended to have neater plans than his own. Sure, his own ideas tended to be reckless, and while the deputy hated admitting it, the raven colored tom tended to have the better, cleaner options to help carry out any plans they had.
Nodding his head slowly, Marshclaw slowly walked along the wooden beams that connected the pillars, tail swishing behind him. The two were right, while his idea of poisoning the leader was a solid one - despite not knowing how many lives poison from death berries would take - yet it could easily be traced back to him if he were the one to deliver fresh kill to the leader. While Reefsong was on the right track on pinning it on some other cat, Eelstrike's idea seemed a lot less foolproof. His ears twitched and he turned to face the pair once again, lips curling as he jumped down again.
"A brilliant plan, actually, Eelstrike. Wavepaw and Icepaw are nearly warriors now, so why not tell them that we'll be assessing their hunting?" The brown tabby tom nudged his friend before walking in front of them. Marshclaw turned to face them again, tail in the air and head held high. "If the prey is tainted, and it isn't just prey fed to Seastar, it can definitely be suggested that whatever prey the two catch had likely eaten whatever poisonous berries before they tragically met their own fate." The deputy mewed, before circling back around to them. He glanced between the two for a moment. "Would you both be willing to taint the prey the two apprentices catch? I wouldn't force either of you to possibly take a fall if anything is found out prior to our plan even being finished."
Marshclaw, regardless of his want for power, tended to make sure neither of his friends got dragged through the mud his his own plans were found out. He planned to take any fall and place it all on himself. He didn't ever originally plan to pull both his ex-mate - now best friend - and his best friend into this string of events, but given that they two both wanted the same out come as he did, he could only promise that he would bring them both to the top with him. While the three all got side ways glances, he knew for a fact that the two before him were probably the most loyal cats he would ever know. If all ended how Marshclaw wanted, they would both prove to be his right paws and make it known that he merely got to his position fairly- no treacherous acts behind anything. Eventually, he would also need Puddleheart to get behind his plans too- but he would need to rekindle his relationship later, and he prayed to starclan that that went well when the time came around.
Even if that was all a lie. But... No cat had to know.
No cat other than Marshclaw, Reefsong and Eelstrike.βοΉοΉοΉοΉοΉοΉοΉοΉοΉοΉοΉοΉοΉοΉ MARBLESKIP - - β
with Coconutfur [ at ] Camp & heading to the ocean | Sand Marbleskip truly hadn't meant to scare the molly that she had approached, but she couldn't help but purr in amusement. The tortoiseshell tabby did tend to be a little lighter on their paws, and they always tried using it to their advantage. Sometimes, though, it came with moments such as these where they startled their clanmates before even speaking. "Apologies, Coconutfur. Didn't mean t'scare you." Dipping her head in an apologetic way, the torbbie waved his tail slowly in response, tilting his head as he spoke. She the listened to the molly agreeing to join, even going ahead and mentioning the ocean. Hmm, that was surely something they could do, maybe some fishing? Yeah, that sounded like a good and fun plan.
"Oh, well, I didn't plan t'go to the ocean or anythin', buuut-" He drew out, sly grin slipping along their maw as they nodded their head towards the entrance, gesturing for Coconutfur to follow. He had no plans, typically going with the flow and wherever her paws guided her. It was the one thing not many cats understood about her- at least that's what Marbleskip liked to think. How could one simply just live day to day without having a plan for things they did? Marbleskip made it look easy, as thats how he constantly lived. Sure, they would join patrols when they needed to, especially if Marshclaw called them forth to join whatever it was. But that weird deputy tended to stick with similar patrols. It wasn't like Marbleskip was complaining, though. She didn't mind.
"A good fishin' by the ocean sounds splendid, doesn't it, Coconutfur?" They eventually asked as they slipped out of the camp, tail waving behind them. She glanced back towards the brown and white molly, purring softly in content. She was just happy to have some cat tagging along now. Marbleskip would have bugged one of his siblings, but he had no idea where any of them were- the whole family was tense since Nightingalefrost had left the clan. But who was he to judge? Their brother wanted to live a different life, and he truly thought that was, well, cool of his brother.
Eventually, Marbleskip decided to strike some casual conversation. "Hear anythin' gossipy lately? I know you, Reefsong and Cloudyfur gots a lil group goin' on. I was wonderin' if you three had any insider news." They asked curiously, dipping underneath some undergrowth and jumping over a tipped over log as they trotted through the forest towards the sand and ocean. The salty water smell grew stronger -- even though it was easy to scent such a distinct smell all across most of the cats territory.

BUMBLEPAW - -
Bumblepaw wasn't going to pretend he wasn't cursing under his breath as he and his mentor worked carefully to unentangle him from the thorns, hissing every time one dug into his shoulder or his flank. He was sure there were at least three stuck in his paws, one somehow seemed to have found it's way into the skin just behind his ear, and one particularly dangerous sneeze had almost ended in what likely would have been his permanent loss of smell if the burn in his nose was anything to go by.
"Do you think I could convince Seastar to declare war on thorn bushes?" he muttered darkly once he was finally free, glaring at the offended fauna. Truly, if looks could kill, the bush would have been ashes by now. "Sorry for my language, and for missing your rhymes, the thorns apparently decided my fur could stand to lose a bit of length. Is it really noticeable?"
If he stood just right, covered in shadows and facing away from any prying eyes at all times, perhaps he could pass for a cat who hadn't been almost torn to shreds. Then again, that would depend on most of the clan being half-conscious and not paying enough attention to him to notice.

HONEYPAW - -
Honeypaw nodded at Saltfrost's words, feeling a sense of calm wash over her as they laid their tail on her. She breathed slowly as she stood in the water, taking slow and careful steps every few breaths until she was chest-deep, almost far enough out that she'd have to start paddling in order to stay afloat.
In.
Out.
When the cold of the water was no longer so biting, she opened her eyes and turned - just enough to be able to see Saltfrost. One ear twitched as she thought back to her first lesson in the water.
"The first thing we work on is keeping your head above water. It's the most important part - there's no use learning to dive under if you can't keep yourself above the surface long enough to breathe. Staying afloat is... well I likened it to stalking prey the first time I saw it. Each leg moves individually, intentionally, like you're getting ready to pounce on your dinner."

DRIFTTUMBLE - -
Drifttumble rumbled a laugh, deep in his chest, at Mantasplash's wager. Who was he to turn down a good, friendly competition - especially when the stakes were raised? The now-darker gray tom pondered for a moment before nodding his head.
"Okay, I'm in. Winner gets to pick something the loser has to do, even if it's a bit embarrassing. And don't worry, I won't give you anything too challenging," he joked, grinning. A quick shake of his pelt sent water droplets raining around them. "Honestly, I don't know that it would actually kill me not to flirt, but if it did and you told the clan that was what happened, I just need you to know I'd haunt you for the rest of your moons. You'd go to sleep at night and I'd just be there asking why you couldn't just tell them I drowned."
Drifttumble wasn't particularly sure if he actually could haunt her if something of the sort happened, but there was no need for him to reveal that to Mantasplash. Let her spend her evening wondering if she needed to worry about an annoying ball of gray fluff haunting her dreams for the rest of her life.

Mantasplash laughed, the idea of Drifttumble coming down from Starclan to harass her for ruining his image was hilarious "If you wanted to spend your afterlife that way I don't think I could do anything to stop you. But I agree with your wager!" having a ghost follow her around wasn't in her long term plans so when she won - and she would - she'd think of something else to make the tom do.
"Ok. Ready?" she waited for confirmation, then "Set. Go!" her attention zeroed in on the water around them and she carefully waited for a flash of silver. Despite her earlier energy and general loudness, in this moment she was quiet and focused.
Rookpaw | the shore | with Sharktooth πβππ π£π
Almost there... Rookpaw was starting to get tired, but he had almost reached the water. The crab didn't seem like it immediately wanted to head towards the waves, so it took some careful herding from the apprentice. With one final push Rookpaw urged the crab into the water. His paws hit the firmer sand that had been packed down by the waves and he nearly went tail over head at the sudden change. He stumbled a little, but managed to keep himself from making a scene.
"Was that... fine?" Rookpaw panted, glancing over to his mentor. He wasn't sure what the logic was behind the chase was, though he had some ideas. None of which he was confident in. But Sharktooth was a good warrior and they'd been given an apprentice. So of course Rookpaw believed that there was a reason.
Gonna wait just a bit for Puffin to give others the chance to reply ^^ )

Splashwing camp β accompanied by: Clamwhisper he/him - warrior While Clamwhisper lay next to his meal, Splashwing's gaze stayed focused on Seastar's den. Back in the day, the three were quite close-- he wondered if they would ever see the white tom leave his den again. He hadn't meant to sound critical of the leader, but he felt concern for Seastar. What else was he supposed to think? Certainly nothing horrific although it did come to mind... which he despised.
The white and brown tabby's sigh caused the fellow senior warrior to stare down at his paws, feeling embarrassed about his question. Clamwhisper wasn't saying much which left him perplexed. If only Seastar would come out of his den, they would have the answer to his question.
"I've never not seen him as a good leader. He's better than most, but lately... he hasn't left his den. It's worrisome," Splashwing responded, doing his best to not sound defensive. "I miss seeing him too. I wonder how Bubblewhisker and the kits feel. It's unusual that he stays cooped up in there."
Silence filled the air as Splashwing began eating his rabbit again. The fond memories of the past felt as if they were just yesterday. Visiting the marshes and fooling around was one he'd never forget. They did it pretty often back then. He wished he could remember the exact day that the trio lost one of its members. He had wanted to check on Seastar personally, but it didn't feel right. Maybe the white tom needed some space. Still, Splashwing wasn't being a great friend and he wanted to fix that.
"I just wonder how he feels about all of this. What would he say about Marshclaw and the many patrols we do in one day?" he mewed, letting out a long sigh. "Would he tell him he's out of line? I mean, it's not like Marshclaw is wrong to sent us out that often, but Seastar never did that. I know he's aging like we are out of all cats, I didn't expect it to effect him this bad. I thought he was stronger..."

Coconutfur camp -> oceanclan territory β accompanied by: Marbleskip she/her - warrior Coconutfur rolled her brown eyes at Marbleskip, aware of their little purr of amusement. It wasn't funny to her at all. Why Marbleskip found it to be amusing in any way was beyond her. She stared at the torbie, giving a sharp nod when they finally apologized for their actions. At least he knows how to apologize, Coconutfur thought as she finally relaxed.
The warrior's ears pricked up and she stared quizzically at the young warrior. Marbleskip's sly grin was all she needed to see after hearing the words "ocean" which she had just used moments ago. "You really don't give up, do you?" she grumbled beneath her breath, padding after the tortoiseshell tabby cat. She had realized the feline's true intention too late and now Coconutfur was stuck with them. She didn't mind the ocean, but she did mind being made out for a fool. Although, the other option was sitting in camp like her usual, lazy self. She supposed that joining Marbleskip wasn't all bad, but at the mention of fishing, she lifted her head up. "Was this your plan the entire time, Marbleskip? To get me to join your little hunting patrol?" she demanded, glancing at her clanmate as they slipped out of camp. She wasn't going to let this slide, at least not right now. Coconutfur was too obsessed to let go.
The brown and white molly hurried up to Marbleskip's side, deciding that she would rather pad besides them instead of being left in the dust. It was no secret that the feline was swift unlike Coconutfur herself. She didn't care enough to be quick when she normally spent her time laying around camp and gossiping like there was no tomorrow. It was her preferred way to spent her time. Plus, Marshclaw hardly noticed when Reefsong, Cloudyfur, and Coconutfur weren't doing their duties. Technically, there were enough cats available to patrol so she wouldn't have to.
As they padded along through the forest, Coconutfur hummed quietly to herself. Her ears twitched at the sound of Marbleskip's voice, wondering how the tortoiseshell tabby had found out about the group. To be fair, they weren't that discreet about who, what, and where they gossiped. It was clear that word had gotten around camp by now. "Insider news, hm?" she mewed before lowering herself into the undergrowth. She then went around the log, noticing that Marbleskip had cleared it perfectly. The duo wasn't too far from the ocean as the scent of saltwater became even stronger. "Maybe, but there's always a price to pay if you want to know anything, Marbleskip. Do you have anything to offer?"

SALTFROST - - β
Hearing the lesson being repeated from their first session in the water struck Saltfrost with a sense of pride they hadn't felt before. It let them know that they were doing a good job in teaching the young molly how to be a fantastic warrior. It wasn't that they had previously doubted their own abilities in teaching, but with the lack of teaching experience that they had, they really couldn't help but question if they were even doing it right. Their mentor had had it so easy- given that Saltfrost hadn't been their first apprentice. They just wondered quietly if their old mentor would change anything about what Saltfrost themselves were doing in terms of teaching.
Slowly wadding into the water to keep up with their apprentice, Saltfrost nodded to her words. "That's exactly right, Honeypaw. Well done, you're already improving as is." They encouraged, feeling the waves lap against their own fur.
Swimming was something that most cats in Oceanclan were expected to learn. Of course there had been a delay in Honeypaw returning to the ocean, and most of the apprentices in the den had already learned their proper swimming training, yet Saltfrost refused to push their apprentice. Though it did pride them that she was pushing herself to overcome the obstacle now.
Saltfrost purred softly and swam around Honeypaw as a demonstration. "Swimming builds up your leg muscles, so the more we practice, the better hunter and runner you'll become as well. We'll focus on getting you accustomed to the water again and paddling through it before we work on your diving for fish. You can do diving another session, unless you feel ready at the end of this." They mewed, gently nudging the molly with their nose to urge her to start paddling and moving her legs as she had spoke about.

with Coconutfur [ at ] Oceanclan Territory - the shore | Sand The idea of gossip coming with a price wasn't too farfetched, at least not in Marbleskip's mind. So when Coconutfur asked the torbie if they had anything to offer, she pondered. Sure, they had heard some juicy rumors and thoughts sprung about around the clan. However, it was very possible that these rumors were just that- rumors. He wasn't too sure what could be good enough to exchange for any piece of silly gossip a notorious gossiper wouldn't have already heard. With a twitch of his whiskers, the tabby shrugged slightly, casting a glance towards Coconutfur before gazing towards the ocean that was slowly coming into view.
"Well, if it's more gossip you want in exchange for insider news an' gossip, I offer you the idea of Drifttumble getting cozied with our medicine cat." She eventually mewed. She wasn't sure if the brown and white molly had noticed the chats the warrior and medicine cat had had previously. But she figured it could do. But, then he remembered a bit of information he had overheard from a pacing and whispering Marshclaw. Oh, something about the deputy would surely be better to chat about that a silly relationship blossoming between the two toms- despite the forbidden aspect of it.
Marbleskip stopped in their step as their paws met the sand - where the dirt and grass below paw grew softer and opened up to the beautiful beach that was part of Oceanclan territory. The tortoiseshell tabby looked at Coconutfur with a look of interest in her gaze. "I might have heard somethin' 'bout lil' ol' Marsh if you wanna hear 'bout it. But I dunno how true it is..." They mewed slowly, flicking their tail. "Though, I 'spose it's true, since I overheard it from the deputy himself. Unintentionally, of course." They eventually added.
Their amber gaze shifted to look towards the ocean again- they noticed Drifttumble and Mantasplash in the water, and then two more cats farther down the shore, - probably not wanting to scare away whatever fish Drifttumble and Mantasplash might be fishing for - wadding in the water- Honeypaw and Saltfrost by the look of it. Huh. Maybe fishing in the ocean wasn't going to happen given how busy it seemed to be around her. Maybe they could head to the docs instead? Marbleskip made not to ask after they spilled their own gossip to the brown and white molly instead of deciding to outright change directions without letting the molly know first.

Sharktooth Sharktooth purred and gently lifted their paw, walking over to join Rookpaw, the water from the ocean lapping at their paws. βThat was perfect, Rookpaw,β they complimented with a small nod of approval before Sharktooth turned their attention to the expansive ocean stretching out for as far as the eye could see before them.
βDo you know why I wanted you to do that?β Sharktooth asked, glancing back at their apprentice. βBecause unlike the other apprentices, you canβt predict what a hermit crab is going to do next. Chasing after it helped you run along the sand, taught you to guide the crab without getting too close, and how to maneuver without knowing the outcome,β they listed off the reasons with a flick of their tail.
βLife is a lot like the ocean. Unpredictable, and sometimes you need to be willing toβ¦β Sharktooth paused to look back at Rookpaw, flashing their snaggletooth in a smile. βGo with the flow,β they joked and chuckled, looking away. βPlus, chasing hermit crabs is just really fun,β they added.

Puddleheart
With enough tugging, Bumblepaw was freed from the bush, thoughβ¦not entirely free from the thorns.
Puddleheart winced as he looked at him, mentally counting how many thorns were embedded into his fur. βOh uhβ¦β Puddleheart fidgeted a little when Bumblepaw asked how it was. βItsβ¦β he winced and sent his apprentice a sympathetic look. βItβs really bad, Iβm sorry,β he apologized quickly and took a step back, looking around the territory.
Puddleheart knew this area, and he was pretty sure there was a stream nearby, which in this case, was exactly what they needed.
Turning back to Bumblepaw, Puddleheart flicked his tail and gestured for him to follow. βCareful on your paws,β he ordered, gesturing to Bumblepawβs thorny paw pads. βWe need to pluck those out before we do anything, but it is going to hurt,β he warned and flicked his ears to gesture from Bumblepaw to extend his paw out.
Then Puddleheart leaned down andβas gently as possible, helped pluck the thorns from Bumblepawβs pads. βAlright, now follow me, weβre going to take care of your coat,β he promised and led Bumblepaw a little further away where a stream trickled through the forest, with a few bushes of lavender and a beehive nearby.
βOkay, justβ¦stay here and donβt try to pick the thorns out without me. Iβll be right back,β Puddleheart promised, casting one last, sympathetic look back at Bumblepaw before he got to work.
First, Puddleheart made his way to the lavender bushes and rolled around in them until he was coated in the scent of lavender. Then he plucked a few flowers from the bushes and padded back to Bumblepaw giving him of the flowers. βOne for youβ¦β he said and offered his apprentice a soft purr before he picked up the second flower between his teeth. βAn one fer me,β he added through gritted teeth.
After that, Puddleheart wandered back into the forest, barely still in sight of the stream where the beehive rested. Here, he took a breath and lowered his voice, mixing a low hum with his natural purr as he slowly and cautiously approached the beehive. Getting honey was risky, as it was near impossible not to anger the bees.
Luckily, Puddleheart liked those odds.
Climbing the tree with the stalk of lavender still in his mouth, Puddleheart watched as a few bees flew from the hive and one of them landed on his nose. Puddleheart remained decidedly calm and with as much careful precision as possible, he stuck the stalk of lavender into the hive, moving it around just enough to scrape along the edges of the honeycomb inside before he gently pulled it back out.
The beesβcalmed enough from the lavender, didnβt react and Puddleheart slowly climbed back down the tree and padded back over to Bumblepaw, a victorious purr emitting from his chest as he set sticky, honey-covered lavender down and beamed. βAlright! Now for the easy part,β Puddleheart decided and stepped into the stream, pawing at the moss sticking to the rocks. βIβm going to combine the lavender and honey with some dampened moss. After that we can apply it to your fur and itβll make the thorns come out easier and with less pain,β Puddleheart explained as he cast a look back at Bumblepaw, figuring his apprentice deserved an explanation for everything he had just done.
