I hope if Frostpaw got spayed (which I was in a state of denial about upon first reading but now it's becoming harder to deny) that StarClan tells her soon. Imagine trying to have kits unsuccessfully while never understanding why! I wish Smoky had been upfront about it. Sometimes you just have to rip the bandage off fast.

Also, I love how for years the fandom has discussed how covertly sexist it is for female leaders having kits to be seen as problematic in the series while male leaders having kits is totally normal, no problem, and the Editor's were like "OK. We hear you. Hold my beer ..... tada, problem solved [with Frostpaw]! Can't worry about managing leadership duties and motherhood if you physically can't have kits mwhaha." >

Not that Frostpaw is destined to be a leader but can you tell I'm rooted for it. ;-) I've been dying to have another protagonist like Firestar who rises from apprentice to leader over the course of their epic character arc for yeearrss!

It's weird to think she and Molewhisker are about six years old now, but yeah, they're getting up there. Actually, this goes for the rest of the PoT/OotS cast as well; I still can't believe Lionblaze is a grandfather now.

I've been away all day and there's no way I'm getting all my thoughts in but...

I look forward to the Night/Frost chapters way more than the Sunbeam chapters at this point. I'm sick of seeing Squirrelflight shove her way into almost every chapter. I'm holding out on hope that she didn't actually get any lives.

Do we have confirmation that we're getting Ivystar? Or is that all pure speculation based on what we have. I'm afraid that just because she's getting a SE doesn't mean that she'll become leader. I just don't want Squirrelflight being leader any more than necessary.

Honestly, nothing they haven't done before. Remember, this is the same cat who tried to get the Dark Forest trainees to encounter a fox as a prank and she was hostile towards SkyClan's presence back when they first settled at the lake, as well as towards Dovewing when she first moved to ShadowClan. In general, Cherryfall seems like the type of cat to value Clan loyalty above all else, so her giving Sunbeam a hard time is pretty in-character, at least imo.

I was honestly so worried that Nightheart and Frostpaw going on that trip together might result in an annoying protagonist love triangle but since they aren't getting along all that well I'm hopeful it'll not happen, after all. But watch them do it anyway because they just love the drama of it all.

I like him in general, it's just even more weird cause he and Nightheart are also foster brothers, so even in the event of NightSun breaking up and her ending up with Bay, it's still strange? I'm just not fond of situations like that. I think it'd be better if it was literally any other cat not from that litter. Or even a living poly-clan relationship works too, with Nightheart, and another cat outside the litter, and they're both with Sunbeam, etc.

Yeah, I saw that. And also him helping her out during her second trial. But that was the only time he got mentioned (apart from at the start of the summary as well where he got listed to still get along with her among others) so I was confused where people got it from that he might be interested in her romantically when re-reading the chapter summary.

But it's apparently just a theory. And I hope it stays that way because I very much dislike love triangles, especially ones from this series. And I don't even like NightSun as a ship but a triangle between her, him and Bayshine would just not be it for me either.

Plus, I'd love to see more platonic friendships between toms and she-cats honestly anyways. Like it was the case with Riverstar and Night/Nightstar in his SE.
