Cinderclan Built on the ashes of the Clans that ruled the valley before them.
Four clans once owned the land Cinderclan is built on. But devastated by fire, plague, and other disasters, former proud clan cats band together in an effort to survive and keep their traditions alive.
xx - in the past
The former clans that once stood are -
Creekclan - Known for their strength and love. These cats formerly claimed the mountains as their home, depending on birds and thicker furred creatures for prey. Creekclan proudly boasted strong family lines of strong, large, long haired cats. They survived winters with ease, and fought battles with intense ferocity. They respected Starclan and it's traditions, but had no problem starting and finishing disagreements. Their home was destroyed by mudslides and green-cough.
Marshclan - Known for their unwavering faith and pride. Lithe and short-furred, these cats lived in the marshy grounds between the mountains and plains, growing silky off fish, amphibians, and waterfowl. Marshclan hails as the most faithful of the clans, often conversing with Starclan, and depending on their guidance and traditions for safety. Small, but thriving they enjoyed blessings and knowledge unknown to other clans. Their home was destroyed by flooding and poisoned food.
Oakclan - Known for intense determination and loyalty. Diverse, but loyal and hardworking they claimed the thick forest of pine and oak trees as their own. They lived secure in a cleft of well hidden stone, surrounded by thorns and sturdy trunks. More of a jack of all trades, their clan often served as a mediator, helping who and where they could. A good sized clan, full of gentle acceptance and hard loyalty. Their home was destroyed by fire, and starvation.
Breezeclan - Known for their cunning and swiftness. A fast moving group, known for their speed in the trees and the underbrush. They live off harder to catch prey, full of warriors with no problem taking risks and dares to the next level. Their home was a mound of tunnels, extremely well protected, and confusing to any outsider. They made friends and enemies easily, often blamed on their flighty nature. They often cut corners and even disregarded Starclan's guidance, confident in their own free will and smarts. They were killed by roaming wolves, and unknowingly by humans.
These clans lived together in the mountainous valley for hundreds of years, Starclan runs strong through these forests. Cats take pride in their peaceful and bloody pasts respectfully - Breezeclan and Creekclan regularly fought over borders and disputes, in long bloody battles. Marshclan, considered weak in both numbers and strength, often got caught in the middle of fights, depending on their faith in their ancestors guidance to carry them though, lead by wise and unwavering leaders. Oakclan attempted to maintain peace and often served as an ally to Marshclan, hoping to keep the four clans in balance.
xx - territory
Cinderclan is home to the taiga, cold and unforgiving to the inexperienced. They avoid and sometimes suffer injuries from moose, wolves, and deer. Slowly regrowing from the devastation of their home, Cinderclan lives in the Hollow. The former meeting place of the four clans, protected by craggy stacks of stone and regrowing ferns and brambles. A sturdy slope of rock called the High-Cleft is the gathering place their leaders once spoke from. Their water comes from the very low river that surrounds the Hollow, easily crossed by stepping stones and dry spots between currents.
Other than the Hollow, the former territory of the four clans is slowly being explored. Slowly, but surely Cinderclan and it's ragtag band of cats hope to reclaim their old homes.
The Star Stump is the meeting place of Starclan and the clans. The opalized piece of wood is safely stood in a hollow within the north pass of the valley. Unfortunately, along with the Creekclan camp, it's been blocked off and partially buried by mud and rock slides. No safe path to the Stump has been found yet.
The Waterfall of Spirits. Medicine cats and dead and dying warriors come here to converse and join their ancestors. Vigils for dead cats are held by their kin in front of the waterfall, hoping to keep their journey to the afterlife short and safe. Medicine cats can also come here to consult the knowledge of past clans, but answers are often mysterious and only Marshclan has been known to really decipher the spirits help.
xx - beliefs and traditions
Cinderclan holds steady in their belief of Starclan, and the traditions passed down by them for years. Death is treated slightly different, with warriors dead and dying traveling to the Waterfall of Spirits for safe passage to the afterlife. Medicine cats are free to love, but taking a mate is considered taboo, and kits born or adopted by these couples are typically nursed by another nursery-bound.
Each clan is home to numerous different sayings and ideals, but a one of the most common sayings is, The Valley - The four clans live in a large valley of forested mountains, thanks and respect to their home for generations is often given. (May they rest in the valley, the valley cares for all, etc.)
Leaders often live a long time, entering well into elder-hood before their deaths. Losing a life often robs them of a little of what Starclan gifted them during their ceremony, loyalty, courage, faith, etc. Older leaders with less lives tend to act more unstable until their permanent deaths. Extremely advanced age can kill a leader, even with their full nine lives.

HAWKHEART The words feel stuck to the roof of his mouth as Hawkheart looks down upon the ramshackle camp. It feels like a betrayal of the ragtag groups trust to deliver yet another disappointing bit of news. His claws dig into the rock of the High-Cleft, a point to ground himself as he solemnly announces, " The routes to the Star Stump are blocked completely by rubble," Hawkheart stills the instinctual twitch of his tail, " and Starclan is...still silent. For now." He almost can't believe it himself as he says it- Hawkheart can't remember a time Starclan hasn't been carefully guiding them all. Their silence is more unsettling than he'd like to admit. Would they even approve of their decision to group together? To leave the clan territories held for dozens of generations? Surely, they wouldn't begrudge them survival. Hopefully. " Someone suggested that the new-leaf melt may help clear some of the blockage," Hawkheart continues after a silent sigh, " until then, leaf-bare approaches. We should continue preparing for winter." He lingers on the rock for another moment, before giving his head a subtle shake; quietly dropping to the ground.

Stoatpaw - Hollow - Brichfog, Open Stoatpaw turned to look up at his mentor confused. "Starclan can't just go silent can they? They wouldn't just abandon us now, after everything that's happened." the young apprentice sat wide eyed with fear. Everyone had been through so much, they had lost so many. Did their loved ones even make it to Starclan? When the camp flooded, no one was able to go back and put the cats to rest. He thought of his poor mentor trapped beneath the water and shivered, quickly trying to clear the image from his mind. Skyfall - Hollow - Hawkheart Skyfall padded up to their ex-deputy, looking for a bit more guidance. "Should I get a hunting party together?" he inquired. "Perhaps we could send the apprentices out to try and find moss for the dens?" They looked intently at Hawkheart, who as much as he tried to put on the air of leader, seemed as lost as hopeless as the rest of the cats. Amberheart - Hollow - Rowanfern, Open Amberheart sat on the very edge of the group of cats gathered below the High-Cleft. She looked around towards the other cats as Hawkheart jumped off the stump. Sitting on the edge, it was easy to see the clusters of cats who knew each other sticking together. One could almost make out four very defined groups with the Creekclan cats close up front to their deputy, and Breezeclan as far away from them as possible. She wondered if these cats could very well band together. She suspected not, at least not after everything they didn't do for Oakclan. She flicked her tail and turned to her sister "Well what do you make of it?" she inquired to Rowanfern. Shadestep - Hollow - Open Shadestep shrugged and began to walk towards the river at the edge of the Hollow. It was no use wallowing around on matters of dead cats. They needed to focus on now, and now they needed to survive. Preparation was of the upmost importance, and resources would be hard pressed after all the disasters. She considered what could be used to insulate dens in this awful, cold place.

She considered what could be used to insulate dens in this awful, cold place. AcePaw - StoatPaw AcePaw was padding across camp, when he heard StoatPaws mew. Ears pricking, he turned and headed to the two cats, his orange eyes flashing with alarm. "They can't!" He mewed, trying to shove away the feeling of uneasiness. "They're...probaly just seeing how we adapt," his eyes flashing. Am I trying to convince StoatPaw...or myself? He thought of his mother, BriarDust- who had been murdered by his father in the terrible storm. He shivered-was she trapped in the real world, unable to join the stars? And what am I meant to do about my father? He spotted YewPaw in the distance- she was yowling BriarDust's name, eyes wide with grief. AcePaw swallowed- he would speak to her later. I'll tell her that all we can do is wait, or something... he thought. Shadow - open Shadow sat by himself, eyes scanning the camp as his tail flicked. Many cats had died- so, with the dissapparence of BriarDust, most would assume that she had died in the terrible storm. It doesn't help that AcePaw saw! He forced his hackles not to rise. I'll have to make sure he keeps his mouth shut about what happened- or he'll be next. Despite his ill feelings, Shadow didn't want his son to die. No. He could be a great ally to Shadow, if he learned to respect him. He could already tell by AcePaws huge paws that the red apprentice would be a strong warrior. I can't have him against me.
YewPaw - Open
YewPaw looked around, her eyes wide. Among the cats that had gathered, BriarDust wasn't among them. "BriarDust? Where are you?" she wailed to no cat in particular. She hadn't seen her mother since the storm. Her gaze traveled over to AcePaw, who was talking to StoatPaw, and Shadow, who sat in camp. Aren't they worried about mother? She bristled- her kin were acting like her mother didn't exist!

Stoatpaw - Hollow - Acepaw Stoatpaw turned as the tall tom spoke beside him. The size difference was almost comical between the two, with Acepaw's tall frame loaming over Stoatpaw's short body. "I hope they come back" he quietly responded. "They have to, they just have to" the apprentice began repeating to himself. He couldn't stand the thought that most everyone he knew and loved was gone. He wanted to bury his head into his mother's fur and go back to sleep. But she too was gone. He gazed up at Acepaw still, eyes wide. He hadn't really met many of the other clan cats in the short moons they've existed as one clan. Stoatpaw was so shy, and so nervous, he mostly kept to himself and to his mentor. "Do you still believe?" he asked, cocking his head to the older apprentice.

Although he didn't know StoatPaw much, as the smaller apprentice usually kept to himself, he still felt a flash of concern run through his fur. "But this isn't the first time they've vanished, I've heard stories of this happening before," his eyes glistened. "They...usually come back," BriarDust had told him those stories, and plenty others. He wished now that he had paid more attention- when she had told the storys, he had usually been distracted, playing with his sister, YewPaw.

HAWKHEART - Skyfall, open
"That would be wonderful, if you could," Hawkheart dipped his head to Skyfall gratefully. Much as he tried to remain composed and on-top of things, it was made signifcantly harder without either guidance from Starclan; or a trustworthy deputy to rely on.
But, as he glanced around the crowd of cats, Hawkheart was acutely aware of the divide that still lingered among them. The Breezeclan warriors especially... he wasn't sure what he could do to bridge that gap. Or if he even could.
CRAGFUR - Yewpaw, open
The old cat sighed. Their bones ached, and a particularly well dug-in tick itched at their flank- but try as they might; they still had a soft heart for the little ones. Especially after everything. With a small oof, the elder rocked up onto their paws, making their way over to Yewpaw's side. Cragfur tapped the apprentice's side with the tip of their fluffy tail. They paused, mouth open, but found themselves at a loss for words. Choosing instead to settle in, in the hopes their presence was at least some comfort.

Stoatpaw -Hollow, - Acepaw, Birchfog "They've left us before?" Stoatpaw inquired, shifting his paws beneath him. "Well, maybe... maybe we just have to find them" he softly thought outloud. "Maybe they've moved from the Star Stump to somewhere we can reach." Stoatpaw looked up between his mentor and Acepaw, hope filling his eyes. I just have to believe. They have to still be here he thought to himself. Skyfall, Shadestep - Hollow -Open, mentions Hawkheart Skyfall dipped thier head to Hawkheart and turned to start limping into the crowd of cats. "Alright, we need to get patrols together for hunting and for prepping dens for the winter. Would anybody like to lead either patrol?" They walked through the cats, locking inquiring eyes with anyone who was confident enough to meet thier gaze. Shadestep looked up from where she drank water from the river. Oh, I suppose she thought to herself and padded towards where the cat was loudly calling for help, parting the cats arpund them like a rock in a river. "Alright, I'll lead a team to start building up nests" she sighed. Skyfall looked over and met Shadestep's gaze, holding it steadily for a moment, trying to get a read on the she-cat, but her stoic gaze revealed nothing. "That would be wodnerful. Perhaps you could gather the apprentices to help." "I'll take whomever is willing to help, apprentice or warrior" Shadestep flicked her tail and padded past him, beginning to assemble a group to collect bedding.

Birchfog — with Stoatpaw & Acepaw Hearing Hawkheart’s announcement left a bitter taste in Birchfog’s mouth. Just like the leader, they knew that StarClan hadn’t uttered a word to them in quite some time. There was no safe way for them to access the Star Stump which had left Birchfog concerned.
As Stoatpaw and Acepaw exchanged words, the white and black cat stood still while watching Hawkheart’s movements. As Acepaw went on about Briardust’s stories, they were tempted to roll their eyes. However, Stoatpaw’ as fearful tone was more concerning. ”As far as I can remember, StarClan has never left our side without a reason,” they mewed with a short grumble. ”You may be right, Stoatpaw. Maybe we need to find a new Star Stump. I don’t think the rocks and mud will move on their own any time soon.”
The short haired medicine cat turned towards Acepaw. They held back a snort of displeasure. ”Whether you believe or not, Acepaw, at least try to have some hope,” he told the tall apprentice. ”It’s important that we find a way to contact our ancestors. I suppose you don’t realize that at your age. Maybe one day you will.”
—— Rowanfern — with Amberheart Rowanfern sat next to Amberheart, her gaze narrowed as she listened to Hawkheart. Did she really believe a single word coming out of his mouth? He was a CreekClan cat after all. However, she found it to be a bit sad that each clan had formed their own groups like they once had. They should be sitting together, but with the new divide being strong… it seemed impossible.
As soon as the new leader disappeared, the pale ginger and white tabby glanced at her sister. ”CreekClan never did anything for us,” she mewed before biting her tongue in protest. ”But that doesn’t mean he is lying. I think he could be right, but at what cost? We’re alone. Is Hawkheart really going to wait until new leaf?”
Sighing, Rowanfern’s gaze searched the temporary camp for any other OakClan cats. There weren’t many of them left, not after her former clanmates had starved and perished in a deadly fire. ”What about you? Do you think he’s telling the truth?”

Mintypuddle
Mintypuddle had already gotten up and out to go hunt, trying to prove herself to her clan. She hadn't told anyone, but she had her heart set on becoming deputy. She was awfully exited of the thought of being deputy, being second in command, helping her clan as best as she could.
She then got back and noticed that almost everyone was talking to each other except Mintypuddle herself. She dipped her head low, trying to go unnoticed. This is not how a deputy would act. She thought to herself, but she was too afraid to lift her head and speak up.

Stoatpaw - Hollow - Acepaw, Birchfog Stoatpaw looked back at his mentor "Do you think we should try and find them soon? Before leafbare? I know we also have to try and build up our herb stores for winter. Greencough could be really bad this year..." he looked around at all the battered and bruised cats around them. The Oakclan cats especially looked much skinner than the rest. Sickness would be rough on them in particular. Amberheart - Hollow - Rowanfern Amberheart looked back in the direction of where Hawkheart had disappeared. "I don't think he's lying. He would be pretending everything is fine if he were lying. He would be using a name he hadn't yet been given." the pale orange she cat leveled her gaze at her sister. There was an intensity behind her yellow eyes, not directed at her sister, but instead a passion that burned from pain. "I think it may be a punishment from Starclan, for how the clans treated each other during the calamity." She didn't necessarily believe this to be 100% true, and certainly hoped it wasn't the case, but she was still so angry she couldn't help but see it as a possible explanation. "It's a fool's errand. We couldn't even band together when Starclan were here to guide us. Without them, we'll be like newborn kits searching for their mom. If it is a punishment, it will only serve to drive us further apart." She scanned the cats around them again and found Birchfog speaking very intensely to two apprentices. "Maybe, if there's any hope, the medicine cats can find Starclan again. They've always had the best connection" If they can't find Starclan soon, we won't survive leafbare she thought to herself.

(I’ll wait to respond to Stoatpaw in case Acepaw wants to get a word in.)
Rowanfern — with Amberheart Rowanfern listened intensely to her littermate, making sure she didn’t miss a single word. Part of her believed in Amberheart’s theories, especially that StarClan had abandoned them. After all, the four clans had struggled after mass extinction. Since the Star Stump wasn’t accessible, she wondered if Hawkheart or any of the medicine cats had a plan. ”Hawkheart seems to be an honest cat. I just hope he isn’t holding anything back from the rest of us,” she mewed, noticing that cats were grouped together and discussing the announcement. She saw Stoatpaw, Acepaw, and Birchfog having a deep conversation. She noticed that Mintypuddle was alone, away from Birchfog and Stoatpaw while not uttering a word. ”Maybe StarClan wants us to figure out things on our own. They could have left us because of what has happened. I don’t know if I trust StarClan anymore,” she murmured. Her amber eyes darkened with misery. She nodded in agreement with her sibling’s theories. ”I hope so. We’d be lost without the medicine cats. Maybe they know more than the rest of us. I don’t want to imagine what leafbare is going to be like.”

Mintypuddle - Simply thinking to herself.
By now, Mintypuddle was aware she was going to have to speak up for herself. She brushed her way throught thr crowd to find the Maine-coon tabby themself.
Mintypuddle - Talking to Hawkheart
"Excuse me, Hawkheart?" Mintypuddle requested the tom quietly but firmly, trying to hide her fright of talking to the large cat. "I was just thinking, perhaps me and Birchfog ought to head to the Star Stump. I know it's covered by rubble, but we should at least try to find a way to get to it. I'm sure looking around could do us no harm." She told them suggestively.

HAWKHEART - Mintypuddle, Skyfall mentioned, open
The large tom blinked, head tilting in Mintypuddle's direction, "I suppose another pair of eyes wouldn't hurt...you shouldn't go alone, if possible. It may be better to wait a few days, while we fix things up here."
Hawkheart glanced across the Hollow, unsure. The walls of the more ramshackle dens were fine now, but the cold moons were fast approaching. He took a breath, held it, and then exhaled. One thing at a time. He nodded to Mintypuddle, joining the few cats milling around Skyfall- best to make sure every cat's belly was full first.

Skyfall - Hollow - Mintypuddle, Open The warrior looked towards the she-cat. "I appreciate the gusto Mintypuddle. I suppose you could run that by Birchfog or Hawkheart, though Hawkheart did announce he would like us to focus on preparing for leafbare now. I am trying to assemble groups to help hunt or collect bedding. You are more than welcome to join either of these two groups if you like. Any and all help is certainly appreciated. I do believe Shadestep will lead a group to collect bedding" they glanced with a bit of a frown past Mintypuddle to the black she cat walked cooley away. "If you are interested in leading a group to hunt, that would also be greatly appreciated. I'm afraid the colder weather does a number on my hunting capabilities with my old injury" he mused a bit out loud. He didn't want to seem like he was passing off the duty to someone else, but he knew where his strengths lie. I might relegate myself to bedding duty. Oh how far you have fallen Skyfall they thought to themself. Amberheart - Hollow - Rowanfern, mentions Hazelwatcher and Woodpeckerpaw Amberheart nodded in agreement with her sister. "It's hard to trust those who abandon you" she looked out at the cats gathering to form parties with a haunted gaze. She didn't particularly trust any of the other cats, but if she had to put her faith in someone, it would be medicine cats. They were always so wise in the ways of herbs and healing, in addition to the mysticism of Starclan. If there weren't spirits to have faith in, at least they could try and have faith in the natural. For whatever that was worth after the calamity. Amberheart butted her head into her sister. "I'm just glad you are safe and here. I don't know what I'd do without you." She gave her sister a lick on the head. "Do you want to see if we could find Hazelwatcher and Woodpeckerpaw?" She wanted to check in on what was left of their clan. Maybe they could go hunting together? Shadestep - Hollow - Open, Yewpaw, Cragfur, mentions Acepaw, Stoatpaw, and Birchfog Shadestep pushed passed Skyfall calling together for the parties and looked into the crowd of cats. She spotted Acepaw and Stoatpaw in deep conversation with her sibling Brichfog, who seemed vastly unamused and a bit irritated by whatever was being said. Altogether that was pretty typical for them. Instead she turned her focus towards where she had heard a young voice crying out and saw Yewpaw and Cragfur. The black she-cat approached cautiously, so as to not startle the two. "Hey there" she spoke in a soft voice to the young apprentice who looked very distraught. She crouched a bit so she could look on eye level with her. "I am looking to go out and collect some bedding. Would you be interested in joining? Maybe we can keep a look out for Briardust" Shadestep offered. She had no idea who Briardust was, but many cats had lost loved ones to the recent disasters, so she felt it was safe to assume something similar happened her. She didn't really believe they would find this cat, but sometimes going out and looking would help.

Birchfog - The Hollow - with Stoatpaw & Acepaw
Birchfog listened to Stoatpaw's words carefully as their apprentice kept posing questions. Stoatpaw had asked important questions, but ones that Birchfog would prefer to ask Hawkheart and Mintypuddle about too. However, they didn't mind making the decision on their own. "Those are good questions, Stoatpaw," they began, curling their white and black tail around their paws. His pale yellow gaze followed the young tom's, noticing that the OakClan cats were quite thin compared to the cats of CreekClan. "I think we should build up our herb storage first for leafbare. If we don't have the proper herbs to treat our clan, no cat will survive through leafbare."
Pausing, they glanced over at Mintypuddle who was chatting with Hawkheart and Skyfall. Although Mintypuddle was a fellow medicine cat, Birchfog didn't know what to think about her yet. They were far more comfortable with Stoatpaw despite coming from different clans. "Since Mintypuddle seems... occupied, I say we head out for herbs," they told the young apprentice. "Mintypuddle can do whatever she likes. If she wants to gather bedding with Shadestep, it will be beneficial for the, uh, clan."
The word 'clan' came out a bit awkward as the white and black cat's voice trailed off. Their gaze rested on Acepaw momentarily before fixating on Stoatpaw. "Let's head out while we can," they mewed, uncurling their tail from their paws. "I don't want to waste any daylight."

Rowanfern - The Hollow - with Amberheart Rowanfern's amber gaze clouded as her littermate spoke. She was right, they were abandoned and now only four cats from OakClan were left standing. The rest of their clanmates perished in a fire and starved to death. She felt that trusting any of the other cats would be reckless, considering that she didn't know any of them personally. She much preferred to boss them around instead of being welcoming. As for the medicine cats, Rowanfern didn't know if she believed in StarClan anymore. They hadn't tried to reach the new clan at all. It seemed useless to try and find StarClan. As Amberheart butted her head into her, she purred quietly. "I wouldn't be here if I didn't have you," she mewed, butting her head into her littermate's chest. She raised her head and licked Amberheart's forehead. "Sure, why not? At least we will feel comfortable with them."

HAWKHEART - Skyfall, open " I'd like to hunt, if anyone would like to join me." Hawkheart dipped his head to the present cats, pitching his voice a bit louder; just in case those milling outside the circle would be interested. The sun sat high in the sky, but the quicker they get out there, the better! CLOUDBERRY - Birchfog, Stoatpaw, Acepaw The tiny she-cat slipped between the gathered cats, feeling slightly out of sorts. She was never any good at typical warrior duties, but with the nursery empty (besides herself!) it left her without much to do. Cloudberry's ears pricked at the unfamiliar tenor of Birchfog's voice. She was no medicine cat, but she could confidentially say she knew quite a bit more than the average cat. " Would-" Cloudberry piped up with a small oh, before hastily, and politely ducking her head toward Birchfog and the apprentices, " another pair of paws be too much?"

Stoatpaw - Hollow - Brichfog, Cloudberry, mentions Acepaw Stoatpaw nodded at what his mentor said. It still really didn't make him feel better about Starclan, but he was happy to get to do something. He stood up and stretched his feet and shook out his fur. When Cloudberry approached and asked to help, his eyes grew a little wider in excitemnet. "Oooo can she join?" the tom looked to his mentor with little toe taps. Cloudberry was very nice and he enjoyed her presence immensely. After his mother passed she was another motherly presence in his life with Moondrop, so he was always happy to see her around. Skyfall - Hollow - Hawkheart "That would be fantastic from our most noble leader to lead a hunting party" Skyfall added with emphasis, maybe laying it on a bit too thick, but Hawkheart was a trusted friend of his, and he wanted the other cats to trust him as well. Amberheart - Hollow - Rowanfern, Woodpeckerpaw, Hazelwatcher Amberheart enjoyed her sister's prsecnce just a moment longer before standing up and looking into the crowd of cats. She started padding towards the back of the hollow, thinking they may have better luck finding Woodpeckerpaw and Hazelwatcher amongst the cats at the back of the crowd. She certainly steered clear of the large mill of cats in the center. That was far too much activity for her. She rolled her eyes at the Creekclan cats loudly talking about patrols in the center. "They're so obnoxious," she said aside to her sister.

Birchfog - Hollow - with Stoatpaw, Acepaw & Cloudberry Birchfog was pleased that Stoatpaw was willing to follow their demands. The young medicine cat apprentice didn't seem to be troublesome compared to other cats. As soon as they heard Cloudberry's pawsteps, the white and black cat's ears pricked up in anticipation. They dipped their head in greeting to the queen before raising their head. Although Cloudberry was pregnant, she didn't have much to do.
Since Mintypuddle had decided to do her own duties, they didn't feel too uncomfortable with the queen joining them. However, Birchfog didn't know the extent of her herb knowledge. "Of course," they replied, glancing at Stoatpaw before nodding to Cloudberry. "Let's leave while we have daylight. I know there are some herbs not far from the Hollow, but there might not be enough to fill our herb storage."
The white and black medicine cat paused momentarily, wondering if they should ask both MarshClan cats for their opinions. "Do either of you have a better idea of where to find herbs?" they asked, feeling slightly futile. Birchfog knew the territory of BreezeClan very well, but it was rare if they ever wandered out of the territory. They would have to get used to new places where they could find herbs. Rowanfern - Hollow - with Amberheart Rowanfern's attention was caught by Hawkheart and Skyfall, who were trying to form a hunting patrol. She scoffed, refusing to join the CreekClan cats. She padded after Amberheart, leaving the distraction behind and began looking around the hollow for Woodpeckerpaw and Hazelwatcher. She couldn't seem to find them. Despite feeling torn on her littermate's comment, she shrugged her shoulders. "They always have been and always will be obnoxious," the white and ginger tabby told her. "They can form their own hunting patrols. We don't need to join them."
The warrior couldn't help but glance back at the two toms. Her amber gaze lingered as pondered and began to pad slowly after Amberheart. If she and the ginger tabby she-cat couldn't find Woodpeckerpaw and Hazelwatcher, maybe it would be best that they hunt with Hawkheart and Skyfall. "What if we can't find Woodpeckerpaw and Hazelwatcher?" she blurted out unexpectedly.

Stoatpaw - leaving Hollow - Birchfog, Cloudberry Stoatpaw followed his mentor, padding beside Cloudberry, brown tail held high in excitement. As they headed towards the entrance, the tom pondered his mentor's question with deep thought. "Um, well we always had lots of great places to get herbs from because the river banks had good soil, but where there was too much water the herbs couldn't handle it..." his voice trailed off a bit at the thought of too much water, and he trailed behind a few steps. "So, uh, anyways I don't know that there will be much from our home that we could find anymore, unless the water has... receeded" Stoatpaw quickly padded back up to pace with the others. If the water has gone down, maybe we could find the bodies of those we lost and put them to rest he thought ot himself. Maybe then Starclan will come back."We could also try maybe some of the muddy areas in old Creekclan territory. The mudslides may have made new soil good for herbs" he also quietly offered, clearly lost in some other thought. Amberheart - Hollow - Rowanfern Amberheart nodded at her sister's comments, scanning the crowd for the two other Oakclan cats. She felt a little panic rise in her chest when her efforts became more and more unsuccessful. When her sister blurted out the question, that panic boiled over. She whirled around on her sister "What do you mean what if we can't find them?! They have to be here! They can't have left on their own, it's not safe." She stopped and sat down, tail beginning to puff in anxiousness. "You don't think something happened do you? Do you think they went out and got hurt? What if someone hurt them!" her mind began to spin with all the possibilities of what could have happened to the few precious survivors of their clan. Amberheart began to scan the clearing with more intent, before looking back at her sister, eyes wide and ears back.
