Sagefoot smiled at Ashsong, shaking her head. "Oh no, not at all. Clovekit was telling me about some dreams she's been having and I was telling her some stories that's all." she mewed, pulling herself upright. "I know you've got your paws full with all the kits Ashsong. They can come visit me whenever they'd like." The deputy waved her tail at Clovekit as she disappeared into the nursery, before dipping her head to Ashsong. "You should get back to the nursery too, you can't be sick either with six kits depending on you."
Eclipsesky closed his eyes, trying to feel the charge that Palegaze mentioned. His senses had felt dampened after he had lost his connection with Starclan, and no matter what he did the air felt moist and nothing more. His ears drooped, frustration creeping in, but he refused to let it show too much. He had done this to himself. "The moor could use some rain, but the storms can stay away. I think we've had enough bad weather events recently. I don't want to drag the whole clan to highstones again."

Ashsong gave Clovekit’s head a lick as she went back into the nursery and looked back at Sagefoot gratefully, “Of course, thank you, Sagefoot.” She mewed, flicking her ear when a raindrop hit it. Ashsong looked back at the nursery, wondering just what kind of dreams the little kit was having. She hesitated a moment before going back to the nursery and glanced at Sagefoot, feeling a bit worried, “These dreams… should I be concerned about them? At least half of the Clan are still coming to terms with her and her sister’s being Meadowbrook’s kits, I don’t want to give them anymore reason to be distrustful of them just because of who their mother is.” She fretted. The moment she had decided to take Clovekit, Jaykit and Copperkit in, Ashsong had vowed to do everything in her power to make them feel loved and cared for, even if it meant protecting them from her own clan.

Sagefoot hurried over to join Ashsong by the nursery, not wanting the queen to venture out into the rain. Her voice was low to stop anyone from eavesdropping on them. "Clovekit was telling me she saw a wind vortex in her dreams, she saw Hawkfury be taken... I'm not sure what that means but it seems to be a dream from Starclan. Clovekit also told me that she was interested in being our next medicine cat apprentice, which I think would be wonderful for her." She looked at her paws, feeling a bit guilty for telling Clovekit the whole truth. "I was worried at first that maybe Meadowbrook was trying to reach her from the dark forest. I.. I explained who her mother is, without giving her any details on exactly she had done. I'm sorry I should have discussed it with you first Ashsong, but she asked me why Ravenpaw looked at her like that."

Ashsong shook her head sadly, looking down at her paws. That would explain why Clovekit had looked so dejected when she went back to the nursery, “No, no, it’s alright, Sagefoot. I… I should have told them sooner, but I… I couldn’t bring myself to tell them. It was cowardly of me to not tell them and prepare them for the way the clan might treat them differently.” She said with a sigh. Ashsong had tried to tell the young kits before, but she hadn’t wanted to burden them with the knowledge of Meadowbrook’s sins. The queen looked back up at Sagefoot, the mention of StarClan sending Clovekit dreams making her perk up, “Do you really think she can be the next medicine cat apprentice?” She asked.

Sagefoot nodded, "Clovekit is clever and shows deep interest in learning about herbs. I'm not 100% sure her dreams are from Starclan, you should talk to Dawnshadow about that, but yes. I think she would make an excellent medicine cat one day."

“That’s good to hear. Thank you again, Sagefoot.” Ashsong said, relaxing slightly. She looked back at the nursery entrance before giving the deputy a light nod, “I should get back to the kits.” She mewed, slipping back into the nursery and starting towards her nest.

“That’s why Ravenpaw looks at us funny. Why he doesn’t like us.” Clovekit had recited what she had been told to Jaykit and Copperkit in a hushed voice. Though, there was no way to hide it from their cousins either. Frostkit looked at Clovekit with wide eyes, stubborn as he argued.
“But you didn’t do anything bad! And… she’s not here anymore anyway, so she can’t be scary, right?” He complained, seeing them as closely as he would his own sisters.

Jaykit flattened her ears, remembering the way Ravenpaw had hissed at her when he was still in the nursery with them. “So… they don’t like us because of what our mother did?” She mewed in a small voice, looking down at her paws.
“But that isn’t fair! It’s so stupid that those rabbit brains are taking their anger out on you guys!” Berrykit mewed, lashing her tiny tail angrily. She looked up when her mother appeared and fell quiet. Cloudkit nodded in agreement, a frown on his face at the idea of anyone would want to blame his cousins for Meadowbrook’s mistakes.
“No, it isn’t fair. But that doesn’t mean the whole clan is against you.” Ashsong mewed, curling up in her nest and pulling all six of the kits close to her. She gave each one of them a lick on the head as she settled down. “It may seem that way at first, but you have to remember that there are cats here that love you just as much as I do. And if anyone tries to tell you otherwise, then I’ll come after them myself.” She said fiercely.

“But… why would Ravenpaw be so upset? Wouldn’t he have hardly known our mother long?” Clovekit asked quietly, looking up at Ashsong with confused eyes. Ravenpaw looked at them like they had ruined his life! Why would he be so angry?”

“Ravenpaw… he has his reasons for being upset, but that doesn’t mean he should be taking his frustrations and anger out on the three of you. Because of Meadowbrook, he never got to meet his own father, and it has affected him deeply.” Ashsong explained gently, looking at Clovekit. The queen had noticed the way the young tom had been throwing angry looks at her kits, but didn’t want to intervene unless it escalated past a point she didn’t like.

The queen had noticed the way the young tom had been throwing angry looks at her kits, but didn’t want to intervene unless it escalated past a point she didn’t like. "Why? Did she scare him off or something?" Frostkit asked, confused at what his mother meant. He looked quizzically at his siblings and cousins, though he didn't like the odd and upset look in Clovekit's eyes as the she-kit seemed to understand the implications that Ashsong was giving. "Oh..." Clovekit murmured. That made alot more sense. Her mother must have hurt Ravenpaw's father, and sent him to Starclan. The thought was very scary, and she felt her stomach drop.

Ashsong drew Frostkit closer to her and started to groom his fur before giving a shake of her head, “No. Ravenpaw’s father was a brave and loyal warrior named Beetleclaw.” She hesitated for a moment before giving a sigh. They would find out sooner or later, and Ashsong would prefer to tell them herself now. She already hesitated on telling Clovekit and her sisters about who there was and what she had done, but she won’t this time. “Beetleclaw was killed while he was out on the moor by Meadowbrook, and she hurt many of our clanmates later on as well.” She looked down at Clovekit, Jaykit and Copperkit, giving them each a long and loving look, “I want the three of you to know that you are not your mother. And the things she did, the choices she made, they are not your fault and they had nothing to do with you. Meadowbrook let the darkness corrupt her in a way that I couldn’t even imagine. Yes, you are her kits, but you are nothing like her and you will never be her.”

"...How can I be, if I want to be a medicine cat?" Clovekit asked after a long moment of silence. She had never seen what death looked like before, but if Ashsong and Brownleaf had been hiding it this long, it had to be absolutely awful. Her mother sounded like the wind monster in her dream, destructive and eating cats alive and spitting them out. She looked up at Ashsong, her numbness turning into a cold sort of determination. "I don't care what anyone says! I'm going to be a medicine cat, and I'll make sure nobody ever gets hurt!" She decided.
Frostkit struggled under his mother's tongue, though he seemed startled by what she said. He looked at Clovekit with surprise at her announcement. "A medicine cat! Can you do that?"

Ashsong smiled at Clovekit, glad to see that the story hadn’t deterred her at all, “And I’m sure you will do a wonderful job as WindClan’s medicine cat. There will be many hardships on your path, but you must meet them head on and never let your faith in StarClan waver.” She purred.
Jaykit had been silent as Ashsong spoke, feeling an ache in her chest as she thought about how many cats her mother must have hurt. “Ravenpaw… he must have felt so lonely whenever he saw Brownleaf or Thorndash come to the nursery to see us.” She mewed quietly, looking at her paws sadly.

“Well! He shouldn’t be mean to you about it!” Frostkit puffed, looking at Jaykit as she seemed to speak about Ravenpaw with sympathy.
Clovekit nodded lightly to Ashsong. “Nobody will stop me. I won’t let them!… I want to know what my weird dreams mean. I think… I think I’m supposed to do this. Like everything is telling me to!” She admitted.

Copperkit had gone quiet as Clovekit and Ashsong spoke, a strange knot of pain forming deep inside her chest. She had known there must have been something different about her mother, but she hadn't expected this... that she was a killer. She blinked rapidly, trying to process it all. It didn't matter that they weren't their mother, with the way their clanmates still looked at them. She and her sisters were still cursed by the association. It wasn't fair.

Clovekit blinked as she noticed Copperkit's silence. She scooted closer to her sister, pressing her fur to her side in a moment of comfort as she mewed quietly. "It'll be okay. It has to be. And if anyone says anything to you, I'll keep you safe." She tried to promise.

Copperkit shook her head petulantly at her sister's words, leaning into her comforting warmth. "No, if you're going to be a medicine cat and I'm going to be a warrior I want to be the one that protects you!" She spoke with a defiant mew. "You're the one they're the meanest to anyways." She looked down at her paws, her voice was sadder and smaller now.

(Hi Fox! RP?)
"I don't mind it... I can ignore it, if it means I can be a medicine cat." Clovekit shook her head, trying to convince herself that it could be possible. Maybe ignoring it would make it go away. Though, deep down she knew it would not be that easy. She looked at her sister and mewed lightly. "Thank you, though. For protecting me."

"Well, I mind it. If you're going to be taking care of them, they need to appreciate you." Copperkit replied stubbornly. "I'll always protect you. And I'll be really good at it when we grow up and I'm a tunneler!" She promised.

Swiftstar stood at the entrance of his den, looking grimly at the sky that looked even darker than the day before. Lightning flashed through the sky, thunder booming afterward. He didn't like the looks of it one bit.
Fallowmeadow stood behind her mate, her belly hanging low with their kits, she was due any day now. "Well, this is some horrible weather for greenleaf. The hunting patrols are going to have a terrible time finding rabbits when they can barely see a tail-length in front of them.
Swiftstar nodded, his frown deepening. "The tunnels are not very safe in this weather either. The ones that need repair are one rumble away from a cave-in."

Stonepath was staring at the sky from his place in camp, the tom's eyes narrowing with unease. He shuffled his paws, grumbling to himself as he started to pace a bit. He didn't like how the sky looked, and the last time he had seen clouds this dark and daunting was... many moons ago, during that awful wind vortex. He looked around, hoping to see his daughters in camp.
"Ohh." Roostkit complained with a small huff, his ears falling flat. "I don't like rain. It's too dark out. This stinks!" He sat down next to Soulspirit's nest, looking unhappy with the weather.

Larkpaw sat huddled in a patch of heather near the outskirts of camp, trying to stay dry. She sneezed as a droplet of water fell onto her nose. She frowned, "This is miserable." she complained lowly.
Sagefoot hurried over to Swiftstar's den, ducking inside to talk about today's patrols and whether they should all go out or not.
Eclipsesky's ears were flat to his head as he looked up to the sky. His claws sank into the damp earth anxiously. He did not like the look of this storm.

Palegaze sat in the entrance of one of the dug-out dens, the rain having already soaked through his thin pelt and to his skin. Though it was green leaf, he shivered both with a chill and with unease at the increasingly more daunting sky.

"You look like a soggy mess." Weaselstride mewed with a blunt yet faintly humored tone as she slipped back into camp, her own fur wet and muddy from tunneling to prepare for the upcoming storm. She could smell it, it was daunting enough. She looked at Palegaze and mewed. "Are you cold?"

Palegaze chuckled. "Observant, aren't you? You're quite filthy yourself," he replied in a friendly tone. "Glad the tunnels will be sound. It's gonna be a bad one," he looked at the foreboding sky as the clouds rolled in. "A little," he mewed. There was no use in lying; he knew she could she the tremble in his oversized ears. "Don't have a lot of protection going on."

Harewhisker slipped out of one of the tunnel and into camp, hissing in frustration. Mud streaked his pelt and darted over to a grassy patch just to get out of the rain. He bit at his claws to get the mud out of them, his tail tapping with annoyance.
Dashclaw was trying to nap.
Beanpaw loafed under some tall grass, trying to get out of the rain, but not being very successful. His fur stuck out every which way and the thunder in the distance made him jump every time it rumbled. He spotted his father exit one of the tunnels and wanted to go ask him what was wrong, but he didn't want to leave his dry-ish spot.
