Eclipsesky snickered, thinking fondly of the old Shadowclan leader, "She probably would knowing her. I know medicine cats have been trained in their dreams by Starclan before, so they'll never truly be without one. I just know that Snowdance was looking forward to retiring soon, and now she's stuck where she is. It is ironic though, because her mentor Frostshard came out of the elder's den to train her."
Sagefoot curled her tail around the kit, pulling her close. It made her miss the days when Larkpaw and Juniperpaw were young. A pang of sadness hit her heart when she realized she could probably never have kits again in her position as deputy. "A wind vortex is a scary thing that sometimes happens on the moor. The wind circles around and around until it makes a tunnel-like thing that can suck things off the ground. One happened many moons ago, back when I was very young. I've never seen another one. Hopefully, we'll never see one again."

It had been short, and she had squeaked awake to hide in Ashsong’s fur, but it sounded just like Sagefoot said. She swallowed. “…Does it eat cats? It sounds super scary, and… it really is real?” |

“She really was an incredible leader,” meowed Palegaze. He furrowed his brow. “Perhaps Cedarstar is cracking under the pressure of living up to such a legacy.”
He shifted, resting his spine against Eclipsesky’s as he looked up to the stars shining in Silverpelt overhead. “Destiny is a funny thing. Or maybe in this case, it’s just bad luck. Hopefully the first, I’d hate for poor Snowdance to be stuck in the medicine den forever. She deserves some moons of rest with the elders.”

"Well, it doesn't exactly eat cats but it can hurt them. If one every comes back to the moor we will have to go hide in the tunnels. We're safe there." Eclipsesky nodded, feeling bad for the elder she-cat, though thinking about it now Snowdance truly wasn't that much older than himself. "You could be right about Cedarstar, I know Swiftstar felt like that in the beginning after following behind Scarstar. He's the first to admit he made some decisions he isn't proud of as a new leader." (I act like Eclipse isn't that old but he's actually my 10th oldest character out of 61  ) |

The thing in her dream had been so loud that it made her ears ache. She shuffled her paws, mewing softly now. “It ate cats before, didn’t it? A long time ago? One looked like Furyflame, but… it couldn’t be her because it was a long time ago.” She mewed, recalling some of her dream. |

So did Berrywatcher, Eclipsesky's mentor, along with a few other warriors." “I saw them.” Clovekit answered honestly. “But I didn’t know their names. Just what they looked like. The monster in the sky ate them…” She felt her ears fall with guilt. “I couldn’t save them. I wanted to help them. Hawkfury… I heard a story about him, and Berrywatcher too! He was a medicine cat? Was he good at it?” She asked, easily distracted onto the next subject. |

Sagefoot glanced at the medicine cat den, wondering if she should tell Dawnshadow that Clovekit was having strange dreams of the past. "Oh, well it happened long before you were born Clovekit. There was no way for you to help. No cat could help, the wind vortex is not something we could fight against. Berrywatcher was a medicine cat yes, he was our medicine cat during Adderclan. He was very skilled, it was a shame he died so young. Eclipsesky had barely earned his medicine cat name when Berrywatcher died."

Palegaze laid his head down with a soft sigh, tiredness pulling at him. "If I were ever a leader, I'd want you on my right paw at all times," he said to Eclipsesky. "So you could shred my ears if I were being stupid."

"Has Brownleaf told you anything about your mother Clovekit?" she said carefully. “He gets sad when we ask about her. So we don’t really ask too much! But… I know that she liked to tunnel, and she isn’t here because we were very hard to be born.” Clovekit mewed, always wondering why some cats looked at her oddly, in ways that they didn’t look at Jaykit or Copperkit. “…Did she do something bad?” She guessed. It was the only thing that made sense, since nobody ever told her a straight answer. |

She did some bad things in her life and hurt some of our clanmates. They look at you and see her, unfortunately. But Clovekit, you are not her. You are your own cat. Please don't let their looks discourage you."

Eclipsesky closed his eyes, simply feeling content next to his cousin, "Being an advisor to the clan though isn't everything some cats think it is. Especially when you're young, cats were looking at me for guidance at 7 moons old... What did I know about clan life or anything then? I was barely older than a kit. I think being a regular warrior for once will be a nice change."

Please don't let their looks discourage you." "She... she was?" Clovekit asked quietly, her ears falling back a bit at the revelation. So that was why some cats looked at her funny. Her mother had been a bad cat. Clovekit felt her heart ache as she thought of how saddened her father was when Meadowbrook was talked about. She sniffled. "Papa seemed like he loved her a whole lot. Did she love him back? Or was she bad to him too?" She wanted to know, inwardly scared that she was like her mother. Would she be a bad cat too? Would she die too? |

Sagefoot touched her nose to the top of the kit's head, feeling guilty for revealing everything to her, perhaps she was too young. "If your mother did anything right, her loving Brownleaf was one of them. Her love for him was true, and when her crimes were revealed it hurt Brownleaf deeply. He had no clue what Meadowbrook had done. And Clovekit? Just because you look like your mother, that doesn't mean you will be like her. You are a kind and clever little she-cat. Stay in Starclan's light and you will prove the whole clan wrong."

"I look like her?" Clovekit asked, looking up at Sagefoot with a curious voice. It was clear though that the information was not keen to the kit. Even in her young age, Clovekit's awareness was acute. She could understand the implications very well. She looked at her paws with a small breath. "What if nothing I do can change their minds? I don't want everyone looking at me and my sisters. I didn't even know my mother!" She sniffed.

"Well, I'll be with you every pawstep. We can hunt rabbits and patrol borders and build tunnels 'til we're grey," Palegaze replied. His ear flicked, his extra acute hearing picking up bits of Clovekit and Sagefoot's conversation. The little she-kit sounded upset, but Sagefoot seemed to be handling it. He turned his attention away again. He could smell the threat of rain rapidly approaching and frowned. "Have you noticed the weather this quarter-moon? It's...off," he said.

Sagefoot's ears fell at the kit's distress, truly unsure on how to comfort her. "All you can do is your best Clovekit. The clans must respect their medicine cats. You have Dawnshadow, Swiftstar and I on your side, you'll be alright."
Eclipsesky sniffed, wrinkling his nose at the moist air. "It does seem a bit strange for the start of leaf-fall but the weather is always strange at the turn of the seasons. It does seem like it will storm soon, oh.. I hope Dawnshadow has our herbs... no her herbs carefully stored."

Ashsong poked her head out of the nursery, eyeing the sky warily as it started raining. Spotting Clovekit with Sagefoot, the queen relaxed, having almost gone into a panic when she had woken up and seen one of her sister’s kits had disappeared. “Clovekit, come back to the nursery. You’ll get sick in this weather.” She mewed worriedly. Ashsong had grown to love all three of the kits land cared for them as if they had always been hers. She padded towards the deputy, dipping her head to Sagefoot, “I’m sorry if she got into something she wasn’t supposed to. She slipped away while I was sleeping.”

Clovekit was almost relieved to hear Ashsong's voice calling her back to the den, though Clovekit could only give her aunt a saddened look before she quickly made her way back towards the den. She needed to tell her sisters why Ravenpaw and the rest of the Clan looked at them oddly. She wanted to be a medicine cat, she had already decided that the second Sagefoot had offered it, but... would the Clan really let her, now knowing this?
