( duskflower) Talonscar watched the messy catch, her tail-tip twitching with annoyance. Whatever was bothering the other runner, she wished he would get over it and not let it affect his hunting. That rabbit should have been caught and dead at first sight, buried and waiting for the next kill they got. Finally, he killed it and she padded over to meet him, biting back a sharp remark about his sloppy kill. Instead, she nodded down to the prey. "It's decent sized. Probably one of the last ones this size we'll see until Newleaf," she commented. "maybe we can find one more before we head back."
( Dew) Tigersong laughed. "Light coddling is allowed if you're lucky," she joked. At his next words, her ear tips burned a little. "well, then I suppose I'll be well taken care of," she answered, her whiskers twitching. She glanced over at him and then back out to the rest of the camp. She noticed Swiftstar out of his den now, looking pleased as he conversed with his kits. She smiled and tilted her head. Even if she was a little frustrated with their conversation from before, it was cute watching him with his family. She had always wondered about having kits eventually. It was never something she focused a lot on, mostly out of fear of getting close to someone else, but she felt envious sometimes watching all the other happy cats in the clan raise their kits together. After a moment, she realized she had been staring too long and cleared her throat, looking back to Larkbounce. "What about your family?" she asked.

💗Hollyleaf💗Larkbounce smiled softly, as he usually did when he thought of his family. "Well, neither of them are alive now, but when they were... well, I loved them. Still do. Well, I guess I love the memory of them, but I won't see them until I go to Starclan myself. My mother... she loved to play. She would play games with us almost every day, moss-ball, leader, stuff like that. My father was the worrier. He didn't want me to hurt myself or for my mother to overexert herself. I remember when I was apprenticed, their smiles, and when I was made a warrior, well, only my mom was around then." His smile didn't falter, didn't waver. He had come to terms with his fathers death, even if it had been sudden at the time. But now Larkbounce had his own life. He had friends, an apprentice, and one day he would hopefully help start a family. "I want kits one day. If there is one thing I truly want, it's to have a family. A mate, kits, and then hopefully be around long enough to meet their kits." He sighed wistfully, his mind wandering. "What about you? What is your goal in life? Do you have one?"

Tigersong watched him as he spoke of his family. It seemed his dynamic with them was much different than the one with her own parents and brother. Not that one was better than the other - it was just different, which was interesting to her. She smiled as he remembered his parents fondly. She sometimes got lost in memories of her own parents. Even though her mother had been annoying and overbearing, there were times Tigersong would give anything to curl back up into the crook of her belly and feel the safety of being at peace. She would never feel that again - but perhaps she could give that feeling to her own kits one day. At his question, she blinked, unsure how to answer. He was so sure of his dreams. She moved her eyes to her paws and considered it, really. Of course she wanted a mate...and kits...and to see her kits grow up and become warriors too - whichever path they decided to take. But, could she handle it? She wasn't so sure. She returned her gaze to his and sighed. "I want a family - a mate, kits. I just worry I'm not...that I wouldn't..." she huffed and shook her head. "I worry that I wouldn't be good at it, that I wouldn't make a mate happy, that my kits wouldn't...like me." she finally managed to stutter out, struggling to find the words and at the same time, to even be honest. She found it difficult to talk about her feelings deeply.

A deep purr rumbled in Swiftstar's chest as his kits came bounding over. He let out a small smile at Milkkit's suggestion. "Climb trees huh? Well, your mother is the best tree-climber in WindClan, but you all might need to wait until your apprentices first." The clan meeting could wait a few minutes, his kits always came first. He gave milkkit an affectionate lick on the top of the kit's head. Rabbitkit followed after Milkkit excitedly, and looked back at Fallowmeadow after Swiftstar spoke. "You hear that mama? WE can climb trees once we're apprentices!" Fallowmeadow padded over to Swiftstar, touching her nose to his cheek. "I should have known better than to get them all excited huh?" Milkkit pressed her face into her father's fur, rumbling a soft purr. "Well, you'll make us apprentices soon right?"

It was a heavy question, because how was one to really know? They were still young, and there were so many things to choose from, so many things to do. He nodded along to her answer, thinking on it. "You have passion in you. I haven't spent much time with you, but I know that. You would fight to protect every cat you love, no matter what and no matter how. If that isn't I good quality, if that isn't something some cat would someday get to love, then I don't know what is."

( Dew) Tigersong shrugged at his answer, unsure if that really was true. She hadn't taken the time to get to know anyone on that level or knew if anyone would want to in the first place. But, she didn't want to say that. She felt like her moment of feeling vulnerable was over - she was uncomfortable and embarrassed. He was right - they didn't know each other well, and here she was, bearing her soul. It was ridiculous. "Yes, I'm sure." she said. "I suppose only time will tell, as long as prey-maulers don't get me first," she added, trying for a joke though she realized after it didn't quite land.
