Whisperingbreeze glanced over when Mothfeather laid her tail over her’s, wrapping her tail back around Mothfeather’s slightly, glad for the little bit of comfort. She looked at the two of them, the three of them so far the only survivors from MeadowClan. She’d never been particularly close with anyone, or the two of them, but now they had this bonding them together. She’d do anything for the two of them. “Thanks. I spent some time in the medicine cat den when I was young, and watched Mistflight a lot when I was there.”, she said, glancing over at where Domino was talking with the two loners and the MireClan she-cat. “I’m hoping Domino can teach me more.”, she said. They’d need someone with medical knowledge, as none of the medicine cats had showed up so far. She nodded at Mothfeather’s idea for a tribute to their Clanmates. “I like that idea. We can tell the others, have everyone make one for their Clanmates.”, she said softly. How cruel was it that none of them could have a proper burial? She supposed maybe some of their Clanmates could wash up after a few days, but they weren’t going to be here. They’d be leaving the next day, heading StarClan knew where. It scared her. Mothfeather | Haven , runningsky123Mothfeather was glad to hear that Whisperingbreeze liked her idea; she hoped it would give at least some kind of closure to the grieving clan cats. The mottled she-cat touched her nose to Whisperingbreeze's cheek, then she dipped her head and said, " Well, I'm going to rest now. Wake me if you need me." She padded a short distance away, then flopped on the ground. For a few moments, Mothfeather tried to lick some of the mud off of her paws, but stopped, too tired to continue. However, she didn't get to rest long before a loud hiss awoke her, sending her scrambling to her paws. " What's going on?" She gasped. A large warrior she recognized as Goldenheart was staring at Domino, a few mice and a snake dropped at his paws. Mothfeather guessed that not all of StoneClan was as friendly to Domino as Rippletongue had been. She had to wonder why; Goldenheart seemed intimidating, but had never come across as particularly unreasonable. Domino, meanwhile, didn't seem bad natured so far, but... Mothfeather glanced between the two of them, unsure what to think. ( Maybe, depending on how things go, I could have Slatepaw at one point find and struggle to take care of Honeykit and Rainsong until morning? He would not want to leave Rainsong alone, but would be unable to carry him back. He'd be dead tired by the end of it though, he doesn't know how to deal with children or unconscious warriors. Otherwise I can have him return to where Goldenheart and Domino are.)

Whisperingbreeze nodded, returning the nose-to-cheek gesture. “Get some rest, we’ll all need it.”, she said softly, watching Mothfeather walk a few steps away and settled down. Whisperingbreeze yawned slightly, and settled down where she was, her back barely brushing against Mooneye’s. She hoped it was some sort of comfort to him. She closed her eyes, drifting off quickly. She also startled awake at the loud hiss, but laid her head back down after seeing it was just a large StoneClan tom seemingly irritated with Domino. If it turned into something more, she’d get involved, but for now, she was just too tired. Sleekfeather also raised her head at the loud hiss from where it had been laid on Mapletail’s side, watching the exchange for a moment, before she laid her head back down, but kept her eyes open, watching the large golden tom and the black-and-white loner. They didn’t need anyone starting fights with each other. Sootfeather(I’m thinking Honeykit finds him and wakes him up by like poking her or what not lol. He’s not like super badly hurt, just got knocked unconscious and hasn’t had anything to wake him up yet)

runningsky123 Honeykit looked around, her gaze landing on a small bush, just big enough to hide her. She ducked behind it and almost sneezed as the leaves tickled her nose. That was close! Then, the tabby she-kit darted off, staying just out of sight. She walked, gazing around. A patch of sorrel, a wilted flower, a dark gray pile of fur- wait, what? Honeykit scrambled towards it. It was a cat! The cream-and-pale gray tabby poked at the cat's nose. He definitely wasn't awake. She prodded the cat again. "Hello!"

Rainsong had been unconscious for the better part of the night, having been caught in the surge from the dam just before he’d reached the Steps. He’d been slammed against the mountain side, but luckily had been high enough that when the swell subsided, he was a few cat-lengths above the water’s edge. His nose twitched at Honeykit’s poke, his head shaking as she poked him again, before his eyes blinked open, groaning in pain at the throbbing in his head. Rainsong looked up at the kit, inhaling the smell of MeadowClan. Ah, she was the little kit that had been found by the border about a couple moons before. He couldn’t remember her name though. He sat up, feeling his head spin as he did so. There was a puddle of red below him. Rainsong felt at his head with his paw, feeling a slash near his right ear. Nothing too bad, but it didn’t feel great. “What are you doing here alone, little one?”, he said softly, even that causing his head to pang. Slightdapple

runningsky123Honeykit quickly looked away from the cat's wound. Ew!The tabby sniffed. She blinked as the dark tom spoke, and then scuffed her paws on the ground. "I, um, I was just going exploring." I was stupid to think I wouldn't get caught, she thought huffily. Honeykit looked down at the lake, and the waves rippling gently against the shore like nothing was wrong. She snatched her gaze back to the injured tom. The she-kit tipped her head. "Don't you like to explore sometimes?"

“Exploring from where?”, Rainsong asked. Did she knew where the other cats were? If there were other cats. “Where are the others?”, he ventured to ask, hoping at least some of the other cats of MeadowClan, or the other Clans, had escaped. He stood, looking around, but could only see rocks and bushes, far enough from the others that he couldn’t see or smell them, and most were asleep by that point, meaning he couldn’t hear them either. He looked down at the little kit, suddenly suspicious. “What are you doing our exploring after the night we just had?”, he asked. He supposed kits never really noticed things like the events of the night, but still. Who knew if the land was done wreaking havoc. Slightdapple

runningsky123 “Over there!” Honeykit flicked her tail to where the other cats were. “They’re really sad. I don’t get why. I mean, I don’t really understand what happened at all. I guess nobody told me. Probably because I’m a kit.”

“Well, we should probably get back to them.”, Rainsong said, not giving her a chance to run before he grabbed her scruff and picked her up, limping towards where she’d pointed with her tail. His body was sore from being thrown into the rocks, but nothing felt truly injured. He crested a small rise, seeing the rest of the cats curled up in a small dip near the top of the hill, heading over, dropping Honeykit at the edge of it. He scanned the crowd, searching for a familiar face, about to give up when he caught sight of a dark pelt near the edge of the makeshift camp, immediately recognizing Mooneye’s pelt. Honeykit forgotten, he bounded over to press his nose to his cousin’s shoulder, worried he was injured, or gone. But the warmth that spread through his nose as he did made him give a sigh of relief. “Mooneye.”, he said softly, nudging his shoulder. He knew he was probably mourning. Rainsong had been with the main group of cats until the large crack had been heard, he and a few others making a run for the mountain instead. Silvermane had been one of them, and he’d tried to keep her in his sights, but at some point they’d gotten separated, and he seemed to be the only one that had been fast enough to escape the swell of water. Mooneye stared at Rainsong as if he were looking at a ghost. His mouth fell open for a moment and he slowly stood, "Rainsong, you made it too?" Once more Mooneye cast his gaze around, but didn't see his mate. He returned to Rainsong and brushed against him, "It's good to see you made it." He caught sight of Honeykit, "And you even saved another one?" A handful of warriors, three apprentices, and two kits. That was what was left of the four proud clans. runningsky123(Is everyone ready to move on to the next morning? I wanted to make sure the new characters had some time)

Rainsong nodded, pressing his face against Mooneye’s for a moment, before he stepped back, his face turning solemn. “I’m so sorry. We… we were heading for the lake, but we heard the boom and a bunch of us turned and ran. I tried to keep next to Silvermane, but we got separated.”, he said softly. He’d tried so hard to make sure his cousin’s mate had made it, but he’d been unsuccessful. He couldn’t imagine how Mooneye felt. Haven(Yep, ready whenever!)

Slatepaw
Slateaw returned to the makeshift camp with a few lizards, a vole, and a large finch. It was late, and much of the group seemed to be asleep. Exhausted, he took a lizard for himself and buried whatever was left uneaten, hoping a predator wouldn't take it in the night. Once he'd finished, Slapepaw settled down next to his mentor. After a long time spent hunting under the stars, sleep came easy to him.
Mothfeather
After her brief awakening during Goldenheart's return, Mothfeather fell back asleep quickly.
Her dreams of fire and drowning eased as she awoke. The Mountain steps were sunlit and still, the sun's rays warming her pelt pleasantly. It seemed far too peaceful, but Mothfeather welcomed the small comfort.
It seemed like most were still asleep. Mothfeather began, at last, washing the mud from her fur, casting a curious glace towards two cats that hadn't been there the night before. She pricked her ears, hope sparking in her chest as she recognized Rainsong and Honeykit.

SootfeatherHoneykit peeked over the edge of her nest. Most of the cats were sleeping, though a couple were awake. She glanced toward Rainsong and shuddered at the memory of finding him. She hopped out of the nest, padding around the dens and nests. Were there any cool herbs she hadn’t noticed? There was a strange plant with pink flowers. She gazed curiously at it.

Mothfeather | SlightdappleMothfeather watched as Honeykit padded curiously around the Mountain Steps. She pushed herself to her paws; it would be best not to let her wander far on her own. " Hello Honeykit," she purred, blinking slowly at the small, mottled kitten. " I see you've taken a liking to the flowers. Would you like to help me collect some?"

Ashfeather begins to wake up and slowly rises to his paws. He takes a moment to get his bearings before remembering everything that happened yesterday. He lets out a sigh unsure of what to do now. What worried him the most was he did not see Berryheart and wondered if she died in the fire.

Rainsong was curled up with his back to Mooneye’s, the scratch on his head since clotting, a large scab across his forehead now, one that would probably leave a scar, but he was alive and that was what mattered. He’d been exhausted when they’d got back to the others, but he’d stayed up for a bit, talking with Mooneye for a short time, standing vigil for a time as well, before his exhaustion had taken him over. He’d sent a silent apology to StarClan for his inability to sit vigil. When he’d dreamed, he could have sworn he’d seen his Clanmates among those that had survived. Silvermane crouching with her nose against Mooneye’s shoulder, Mistflight whispering in Whisperingbreeze’s ear. Rainsong woke not long after Mothfeather, standing up and stretching, wincing at the soreness in his limbs. He looked around, noticing Whisperingbreeze stirring as well. Whisperingbreeze had slept almost the whole night, having dreams of herbs and remedies she knew she’d never heard of, sure it was Mistflight guiding her. She got up, and immediately walked over to Foxpaw, sniffing over his foot. /A sour smell means infection. Heat also means infection. Clean the old poultice off, make some new poultice, and find beech leaves, wrap them with spiderwebs to keep the poultice on./, she could almost hear in Mistflight’s voice. Mooneye woke early, but certainly not well. His body ached between the stress of the previous day and sleeping on the hard stone steps as opposed to the fluffy, soft grass and moss of Meadowclan's warrior den. He blinked his eyes and looked around. While he was mostly blind, his bad eye could still make out silhouettes in the light of day. This was usually enough to get by, but usually he woke up surrounded by familiar silhouettes with his mate at his side to fill in any gaps. He didn't have that now. He did recognize Rainsong at his side though and nudged him gently, "Morning."
---
Halfstep had been up for a good portion of the dark, early hours. She was worried, but until now she had kept it to herself. Now she crept over to Sleekfeather. She knew the she-cat was upset with her, but she also wasn't sure who to bring her worries up to. "Sleekfeather... Tallshadow-one of the outcasts I was with- He never came back from hunting last night. Tigerfang went out to find him ages ago and he hasn't come back either... I'm worried something might have happened."
---
Rabbitpaw had slept fretfully and now she was up and moving. "Ashfeather!" she ran over to her mentor, only catching sight of the sleeping Emberkit and remembering to be quiet at the last moment. "Are we moving today? Foxpaw's paw is still healing, but you don't think they'd make us leave him behind, would they?"
"I'm fine!" the young tom called from where he was staying very still for Whisperingbreeze's inspection. His wound was healing, but who knew what moving for long hours would do to it.
"Maybe someone should stay behind?" Mooneye said, "A few days for his paw to heal and just in case any other cats show up, and then we follow behind? As long as I know what to do with the herbs, I could do it. Unless you think he could move?"

“Morning.”, Rainsong murmured around a yawn, stretching slightly again. He didn’t ask how Mooneye had slept, knowing what the answer would be. He followed him as he passed over to where Whisperingbreeze was checking over a BrambleClan apprentice. “I think his paw is ok to travel a small distance. I say we go around the mountain, find a better place to shelter.”, Whisperingbreeze said. “There’s a forest over the ridge, my mother told me about it. It’s where she was born.”, she said. Part of her wondered if maybe they would run into her, convince her to join the Clan for good. But she doubted it. “There will be more prey there, more shelter, and hopefully more herbs. We can stay there for a few days, and wait for Foxpaw’s foot to heal more. It will also give any stragglers time to find us.”, she said. Sleekfeather had stirred at Halfstep’s rousing, yawning slightly as she woke. She turned her head, frowning at Halfstep’s words. “Maybe theh left.”, she said. They hadn’t seemed very attached to the Clans, especially since they, and Halfstep, had left their Clans behind. She stood up and stretched, yawning slightly. She heard Mooneye and the others talking, deciding to pad over to them to join the conversation of their plans. “I think Whisperbreeze’s idea is a good one.”, she said. “It will give us all a chance to fully rest before we start any long journey.” “Whisperingbreeze.”, the grey tabby corrected softly, earning an embarrassed look from Sleekfeather. “I’m so sorry.”, she said, Whisperingbreeze purring in amusement. “Don’t be, we’ll all have to learn new names.”, she said. Mothfeather | SlightdappleMothfeather frowned at the cluster of pink flowers that had grown in a crack in the rock, near the edge of the gathering area. She didn't know much about plants, and she wasn't certian that this type had grown in MeadowClan territory. " I'm not sure," she answered, suddenly keenly aware of how vulnerable the whole group was without a trained medicine cat. " Sure looks pretty though. How about you grab a few by the stems?" Mothfeather considered her next words carefully. She was unsure how much the energetic kitten understood about their situation. " We can place them on the other side of the Mountain Steps, to say goodbye to MeadowClan," she meowed at last.

Whisperingbreeze glanced around for Mothfeather, suddenly remembering the she-cat’s idea. “Before we go anywhere, Mothfeather had the idea to make some rock piles and decorate them with flowers, leaves, the like. We can’t bury our Clanmates, but that doesn’t mean we can’t honor them.”, she said, glancing out across the new lake. Sleekfeather nodded slightly. “I like that idea. It will be a placemarker, if we ever come back.” Haven Sootfeather

"Maybe..." Halfstep ceded. It didn't make sense. Why would Tallshadow leave his brother? The large tall tom had shown himself to be considerate, responsible, and ever his brother's keeper. She thought that he would have been the type to tell her if he did want to leave the clan cats behind.
Halfstep sighed softly and pushed her worries away. There was talk of a mass goodbye for their clan. It would be smart of her to join in unless she wanted to be seen as more of a traitor for leaving her clan behind. She began to scour the corners of the mountain where plants might collect some shade at times. Most of what she found were hardy plants and one nicked her mouth with thorns as she tugged it free.
--
Rabbitpaw wandered over to the former Stoneclan cats. Goldenheart was still asleep and he was quite large, which intimidated her, so she nudged the apprentice instead. "Hi, um... I'm Rabbitpaw. I was wondering, if you know some good places to find flowers and stuff like that on the mountain? We're going to say goodbye to our clan mates."

Ashfeather knew he could go ahead and start collecting some rocks. He glances down at his son wondering what to do with him. "Emberkit, do you want to help me gather rocks or stay here?" He figured asking the question might be better than forcing him to stay at least for now.

The cats that had been discussing dispersed. Rainsong started to gather rocks, some basic, but tried to grab more striking rocks. He wanted the monument to look nice, even when the flowers wilted. He started reciting the names of his lost Clanmates in his head as he did. Silvermane, Tawnystar, Mistflight. Whitefur, Patchflank, Spottedbelly. He recited each and every Clanmates name in a loop as he collected rocks, thinking of his memories with each he could. Teasing Mooneye when he and Silvermane had first become close, doing what he could to persuade his cousin to ask her to be his mate. How happy he’d been when they had become mates, knowing his cousin would always have someone by his side now. He glanced over at where Mooneye was, quietly resolving to not leave his cousin again. He would stick by his side now, and keep him safe, for Silvermane, and in her memory. Whisperingbreeze started traversing the area around them, picking flowers here and there as she did so. Sleekfeather followed, but picked up rocks as she went, walking back and forth to bring them to the pile being created for MireClan. Haven Slightdapple Hawkeyes258 Sootfeather

Slatepaw | HavenSlatepaw blinked awake and uncurled himself, looking up at the younger apprentice with a somewhat confused expression. He took a long glance around the clearing, then narrowed his eyes, thinking. " I know one place, near where the forest starts." Slatepaw remembered catching a finch there the night before. There would be enough plants for the both of them to bring back. " It's not far from here. I'll show you," he said, a seriousness to his voice. He nudged Goldenheart and repeated what Rabbitpaw had told him. The two of them would need to collect for Stoneclan alone.
