ooh. that does sound interesting. maybe the land cats are fleeing an invasive species? (foxes or smth?). it leaves an opportunity for the land cats to have less aggressive personality, but also coming into a conflict of interest with the tribe. especially if the land cats view the turtles and their eggs as an easy meal they're willing to take. and it could be solved by either coming to terms of agreement and letting them stay or by helping them get rid of whatever drove them out in the first place?
edited in: i was thinking maybe one of the cats could volunteer as bait (maybe one of the apprentices? Swoop would certainly be willing). and when the shark moves in, the other cats could attack it from the other sides?]

She nodded, gently nudging Flower"it'll be fine"She murmured before heading towards the camp's entrance"Just stick close to Fire and me"she slowly made her way towards shore. She kept her ears pricked, staying alert for any humans or predators. Once she saw the sand growing closer to the surface, she swam up, poking her head above the water just a bit.

well, my main thought process was that if they're not going to be able to outswim the shark, they have to fight it. and the warriors would be able to do more damage than the apprentices ^^"]

(I'm fine with whatever, Thunder will throw a fit but even he knows when you gotta do what you gotta do xD I think I read somewhere going for a sharks eyes or nose are the quickest way to deter it but I'm not 100 on that)
Fire followed the group, keeping his eyes peeled for anything that could be a danger. The warrior pulled himself onto shore when they reached the beach, shaking what little water resided on his smooth fur. He looked around carefully, almost daring a land cat to show themselves as if there were any around. He would love for some excitement, even if it meant dragging a cat into the depths of his home.

it's alright. i figured as much. lol. and yes, eyes and i believe there's some sensitive spots on the nose as well. we'll use both then and y'all can decide if the shark gets to any of your cats ] Swoop noticed his sister give the sign she needed air. His gaze flickered between the shark and them. It would be on them in seconds. Having spotted nowhere to swim and hide, he knew the patrol would have to fight it off. The two of them were apprentices, they wouldn't be any help. But maybe if the warriors knew where the shark was heading, they could intercept it? Having made up his mind, he waved his tail for his mentor's attention. He hadn't learned the signals needed to say exactly what he was planning, but he hoped Thunder would catch on. Nudging Splash along, he started to make for the surface as fast as he could.

Wind slowly stepped onto the sand, taking in the warmth of the sunlight. After a moment or two, she made her way towards some tidal pools"i believe we can find some seaweed. If we head a little inland, we can find some borage and maybe chamomile"she muttered

Glow Catching the signal from his apprentice, Glow knew they were rather low on options and that Splash would need to reach the surface one way or another. He doubted it'd be that much longer before Swoop was in a similar situation. He didn't like the idea of just shooing them off to the surface, as risky as it would be, but there really was no other option and it seemed the other apprentice was along a similar train of thought. It was risky, but the warriors among them, including himself, were quick swimmers and skilled fighters, there was no reason they couldn't intercept the shark before it made it to the apprentices. He looked back to the apprentices, nodding to assure them they were clear to go without hesitation, and with the knowledge he had every intention to protect them. He didn't think Thunder was going to love this plan either but they really were caught between a rock and a hard spot, Glow wasn't really thrilled with it himself. Once the Apprentices began their ascension, The glowing cat's eyes would focus on the shark, prepared to immediately go for it's face with unsheathed claws the moment it's attention was drawn to the younger cats. (Then glow gets eaten-- Imkiddingtho)
Flower Upon reaching the sandy shore, Flower padded out alongside the others and shook the water from her fur as well, a light shiver rippling beneath her thick coat. Although as comfortable with the water as any of the tribe, she couldn't deny that it was pleasant to be freed of the heavy water that soaked into her neck fur and weighed her down. With time, perhaps it would develop the same water resistence of the rest of her fur but the soft downy nature it currently had could be a bit tedious. "Okay." Flower replied softly in response to Wind's muttering, though usure if she was beign spoken to or if it were the cat simply thinking aloud. Regardless, Flowere padded into the tidal pools and gently began to collect the long lengths of seaweed from their stalks.

(sorry everyone! I've been super sick these last couple of days so I've been inactive!)
Splash made a break for the surface, she could hear her heart pounding in her ears as her lungs screamed for a breath. She was glad her brother was moving with her but she was absolutely terrified. What if the warriors couldn't stop it? She tried to focus her mind, the fear was only going to make her sloppy. She couldn't help but turn to look at the shark, which was now making a break right for the apprentices. Her heart sank and she almost cried out before remembering they were under the water and that would be a big mistake.
Thunder glared at the others, using the apprentices was the last thing he wanted. Logically, it made the most sense but he would never had agreed to it if it was up to him. The tom was thankful for his speed as he swam to the side, ready to pounce on the incoming predator, his claws unsheathed. He was going to rip out its eyes before he let it touch the young cats. His eyes were fierce, now in wait for the creature to make its way to them. Star trailed behind it, it had swam past her completely as soon as it had caught sight of the much slower prey.
Fire followed behind the medicine cat and her apprentice, hoping for something entertaining to happen. He glanced at the two cats before him, would they be able to handle themselves if there was an attack? He snorted at the idea, probably not. Most cats seemed to be too soft in the tribe these days, they needed to see more battle if you asked him. Then again, no one ever did unless it was actual fighting, then Fire was one of the first cats to go to.

it's all good Blizz :3 feel better soon~]
Swoop shook water out of his face as he broke the surface. He nuzzled his sister as she took in mouthfuls of air. Unsheathing his claws, he continued to tread water, dreading looking below them. Hopefully the shark took the bait. He circled Splash protectively and half expected to feel the pain of sharp teeth latch onto his legs. Even still, he refused to look back under the water. Certainly, he'd lose his nerve if he did.

Wind glanced up at Fire before moving to follow her apprentice"we can set the seaweed closer to shore so we can grab it when we leave. I'll show you where the herbs we need grow, and how to gather it. It's a bit more delicate that these"she said with a soft laugh

(( Sorry, guys, I've been a bit busy the last few days but I'm trying to get caught up the best I can )) Glow was no happier using the apprentices as bait than any other warrior would be, that's for sure, but there was no point letting such thoughts further cloud his mind. They were committed now, and had no choice but to follow through with the plan for better or worse. If nothing else, the shark seemed happy to oblige, the beast seeming to head for the apprentices without even a second thought to the far more dangerous adults nearby. All Muscle and threat but no brains to back it up. As the shark made it's way for the apprentices, Glow followed Thunder's lead in preparation to take the Shark off guard, zipping forward with all the speed his own form could afford him. He may have lacked the multitude of fins and the experience of the older warrior, but he remained no less determined to protect the younger cats. Soon enough, he'd circled above the beast and made his move, attempting to leap onto the shark's head and claw frantically at the more sensitive part's of the big brute's face. Flower could hardly imagine the thoughts going through the warrior's head, nor was she sure she'd even have wanted to if she could, remaining focused on her mentor as she spoke. The young cat laid the seaweed she'd plucked from the stalks along the shoreline as instructed and soon pulled her body out from the tidepools. "Understood. Lead on, Wind." She replied with a light tilt of her head, curious where they were off to in order to find these herbs and even more so interested on how different it was to collect them than the seaweed. Hardly older than the warrior apprentices, it was of little surprise her training was still incomplete and her knowledge as a medicine cat was just as lacking. She was hardly above the enthusiasm of a young cat when it came to learning her future trade so to speak. However, her curiosity soon trailed to the warrior, "Fire, you're an experienced warrior, right?" she inquired with a youthful innocence, barely giving the cat time to reply before continuing. "What kinds of threats might we run into out here?"

(I want to apologize real quick, I've been having trouble responding I've been dealing with some mental health issues so I took a small break to get back to normal!)
Splash stared at her brother with wide eyes as he circled her, the she-cat dipped her head under the water slightly. Her blood practically froze as she saw the shape making its way quickly to the group. She quickly lifted her head from the water and did her best to keep calm. What if this was the end to their lives already? "Swoop?" her voice shook slightly as she called to her brother, she felt like she was drowning and she wasn't even under the water. What could the warriors do against such a massive beast?
Thunder moved forward with impressive speed, circling under the shark and digging his claws as deeply as they would go into the much larger beasts stomach. He latched on tightly with his front paws as he violently kicked with his back legs, ripping into the flesh as much as it would allow him. The shark had thick skin and Glow had already went for the eyes which was the best place so Thunder was now there to cause more mayhem on the beast. His eyes were like fire, his heart pounded in his ears as the shark began to shake more. He held on as tightly as he could, blood from the beast clouding his vision. As he held on tightly Star made her way to the sharks side as she scratched at its gills, trying to get it to turn to one side away from the apprentices.
(I think I'm going to have Star get thrown into something, no major injuries but some soreness for sure!)
Fire turned his attention to the medicine cat apprentice, thinking carefully before answering her question as he calmly padded forward. "there are all kinds of threats on land, but usually the biggest problem we face are land cats. There are a lot of odd creatures on land but they usually aren't near the shore. It would be good experience if we ran into one, I doubt it though it's been a long while since they dared trespass on our land." He felt his claws unsheathe at the idea of running into one of the foul creatures. If they stepped one paw on the tribes shore he would drag them into the oceans depths without a second thought. His eyes danced with venomous hatred for the land cats, he saw them as weak and weakness was a fatal flaw he had no respect for.

(Yeah! Mental health breaks are good and I'm glad you're looking after yourself!)
"I've ran into land cats a few times as an apprentice. Some are nice others less so, it mainly depends on the cat I suppose"Wind said, leaning down check a patch of borage. She carefully picked a few stems, leaving most of the plants there. Once she had a few good sized sprigs, she moved towards a chamomile patch.

take care of yourself Blizz :3 and this goes for anyone; RPing should never feel like an obligation. take time if you need it. just keep us informed ] Swoop's heart wavered when he heard the fear in his sister's voice. He pressed closer to her and nudged her head out of the water. "It'll be okay. The warriors will fight it off and then we'll all go home. And we'll have a story to tell!" Rambling was the only way to keep himself from looking below. "Star is our deputy. Thunder and Glow are great warriors, elsewise Dusk never would've assigned them as our mentors. That shark won't know what him 'im." After what felt like ages, the water shifted and Swoop let out a shriek as Glow popped out from the surface. "Let's head back." Taking a deep breath, Swoop dove back under. [and we can adjust the ending if need be. just figured id try to move things along]

(( I admit I'veen tryin' to keep myself down to 1-2 post sessions a day so I don't burn myself out so, nice and casual is such a good vibe. Even if I sometimes fall behind as a result LMAO ))
Flower / with Wind and Fire The young vibrantly colored she-cat listened carefully to the response she was given, though she couldn't begin to hide the disappointment that the biggest threat were simply land cats. Sure they were probably dangerous, but she'd hoped to hear something a little more... exciting. The ocean was so rife with dangers of all shapes and sizes that it was hard for Flower to really appreciate the dangers of cat's that feared getting their paws wet, even if that had made the land cats fierce fighters on land. Granted, perhaps hoping for interesting threats on land was ill-fitting of a Medicine Cat's Apprentice, it wasn't as if she wanted her clanmates hurt after all. It didn't exactly help Fire's case that Wind really took the wind from under his sails, so to speak, with her own opinion on land cats.
"Huh.. I see..." she replied softly, though her loss of interest was fairly evident by her tone. Nevertheless, she WAS here to learn from Wind, not speculate land-based threats, although she felt a bit left behind by the Diligence to which Wind went about her business, Flower feeling dejectedly worthless under the circumstances. Even so, she wasn't about to throw a tantrum like some kit, and did her best to take from this trip what she could -- Paying attention to how the Medicine cat was going about collecting herbs, even if Flower didn't completely understand the methodology in doing so.
Glow / With the training group Glow took some comfort in the swiftness all the cats had taken in wrangling the shark, definitely putting on more confident airs than he actually felt moving so aggressively on the hulking beast. Although grateful for the aid, the Shark's thrashing soon forced him to lessen his attack in favor of holding on with his claws as to prevent himself being flung off, though this did result in a repetitious hard thunk of the shark's head against his own body several times before he was finally able to maneuver his own form to hold fast and close to the smooth flesh, ultimately rotating his body in the process. Once he'd regained some level of control, his position now favoring his back claws as weapons, his attacks resumed vigorously in a flurry of kicks at the shark's eyes until it was surely and effectively blinded or so he hoped. This did leave the tom a bit less aware of what the shark was doing as he couldn't see the way it was facing but he had his hopes his clanmates had directed the blinded foe away from the apprentice's covered.
By the time the Shark was dealt with, Glow felt a bit more battered than he particularly appreciated but he would hardly let that be known. The worst he could say for his own condition was that he was bound to have some bruising and a possibly torn fin, though a light stinging along his flank and the side of his tail told him that his fin wasn't the only thing to be nicked in the chaos but it was hardly severe enough for him to complain about, especially after going through with such a wreckless plan in the first place. It certainly wasn't anything deep enough to earn a place in his mind after the battle, likely little more than a scrap against a tooth or sharp stone. Nevertheless, he had reached the surface, barely letting the startled apprentice's wail register initially, unaware he'd actually come up so rapidly. "Time to head back." he agreed, "You two did well today." he added softly, though hoping he wouldn't be catching Thunder's ire for that comment. Wreckless behavior was inadvisable and though it worked this time there were never promises for the future, but it was hard not to appreciate the quick thinking and bravery it took to do as the apprentices had done. As soon as the others had dipped back beneath the surface to head home, Glow followed suit, looking forward to a chance to clean himself up a bit after that skirmish.

Fire glanced to the medicine cat as he listened to them. He felt so much hatred to the land cats it was obvious by the look in his eyes how he despised them. "Kind or not if they touch our beach it's our job as tribe members to drag them under." The thought of dragging the land cats into the depths of the ocean almost made him purr, very rarely did they past the trial and if they had it was more often they would refuse to join the tribe, leaving and never returning. He almost wished a land cat would dare step foot twice on the tribes territory. If they had, they would be lucky to run into almost anyone except for the warrior. He turned his attention back to their surroundings, keeping his eyes peeled for any dangers they may run across
Thunder watched as the three cats dispersed as the shark turned to leave, though with a quick glance at his deputy he turned and followed the beast, making sure it wouldn't circle back. He kept his distance and once he knew the shark had gone for good he swam quickly to Swoop, his eyes full of concern. He looked over his apprentice like a queen checking their kit when they had gotten into trouble. He let out a sigh of relief as he saw no physical distress, though he was unsure how the young apprentice would handle this mentally. "stay close to your mentors, I want everyone to be able to have their eyes on you at all times." The older warrior was relieved the apprentices were alright, he was certain Star would discuss with Dusk what had happened. Everyone had made it away with minor injuries, although it was only now that Thunder felt the burning sensation in one of his back paws, a small amount of blood was seeping into the water. If that was all that was wrong with him then they were seriously lucky.
Star flinched as she reached the surface for a breath. The shark had thrown her quite far and she had hit a rock with quite some force. It was uncomfortable to say the least but she was still capable of swimming so she was grateful everyone had been alright. She lead the group, her eyes peeled for any signs of danger on their way back. She swam much slower than before, unable to keep a strong pace with the soreness she felt in her chest. She was going to sleep good that night, it was unfortunate they wouldn't be feeding the tribe well tonight but nonetheless she was proud they had managed to keep the group safe. When she popped up in the cave at the tribe she quickly laid down, taking a small break from the long journey.
Splash swam cautiously next to her mentor, having to stop every so often to get air. Every time she stopped she felt as if her legs were going to be eaten by a shark. When they made it back to the cave she collapsed onto the ground, the sudden exhaustion hitting her. Not only was her body tired from her first trip she was also drained mentally. She looked up at Glow, unsure if she was going to get a look of disapproval, was she weak for being so tired? She finally got a better look at her mentor now that she was safe, he looked like he had taken a beating, she pushed herself to stand up feeling as if she didn't deserve to throw herself down. The warriors had fought so hard!

Flower couldn't begin to understand from where Fire's burning fury for the land cats stemmed, but she was relieved Wind remained ever calm under his burning gaze, perhaps even envious of that composure. He was quite an imposing warrior, after all, strong and rather frightening by definition. "I suppose I never thought about how different views even on things like clan threats were between ranks..." she mewed, half to herself as she glanced quietly into the distance.
However, she was soon drawn back to attention as Wind began to explain to her the proper methods of collect Chamomile, nodding in understanding as she looked closely at the flowers, taking a mental measure of what seemed the most fully grown among them before nosing a few of the largest she could see, "So these ones are fine, right?" Glow • Tom • WarriorLocation: Camp with Thunder, Star, Splash & Swoopblizzardsfang Novi Along the way, Glow had kept a close eye on the apprentice, gliding through the water up to the surface whenever the young cat needed a moment to catch her breath. Given the unexpected surprise of the day, he could hardly blame her for the breaks, even a cat more accustomed to the water might have needed the extra stops after such a frightening encounter. He also couldn't say he minded, if only for the sake of a moment to let his tail rest. His injuries certainly weren't grievous by any means, but the soreness from use was surely beginning to sink in by the time they finally reached the cave, though the heaviness of his body as he left the water soon made him wish he'd remained among the sea that carried him so much more lightly.
Regardless, he did his best not to let the fatigue show as his golden gaze glided over the forms of the apprentices and his fellow warriors, acutely aware no one was in the best shape of their lives. "We all in our respective singular piece?" he asked, almost seeming as if trying to lighten the mood amongst the soreness and exhaustion of his clanmates. They'd certainly got their fair share of battering across the board, but the apprentices seemed okay in regards to injury, if not at their physical breaking point with exhaustion. Closing the distance between himself and his apprentice, he swiped his tongue over her ear in an almost comforting manner before speaking, "You and Swoop did well out there, all things considered. I can't speak for Thunder, but if you've no injuries to speak of, I'd say you've earned a meal and some rest for the remainder of the day." He replied but soon paused thoughtfully. He looked upon Splash with a knowing but sympathetic glance before speaking again, "And take care not to push yourself anymore today, exhaustion is natural and more so among apprentices still growing accustomed to the ocean."
With all said and done, he gestured for the small pink cat to move along and returned to the other warriors as if to assure there were no further orders for himself. Despite his own wounds, he only felt a desire to sleep it off, but his concerns remain heavily skewed towards his clanmates and anything they might have needed from him.Leaf • She-cat • Apprentice Location: Camp, Open Despite the alarming nature of the cats that returned from the training event, Leaf was laying sprawled out unconscious on the ground by the remains of her meal earlier that day. The soft snoring told the tale well enough, she had simply fallen asleep mid eating, having neither finished her fish nor quite making it back to the Apprentice's den. However, a groggy but incoherent grumble escaped her, directed at nothing and still deeply unconscious only further proving the point.
She certainly hadn't had the eventful day of the other apprentices, but it seemed to have been enough to tire her out, though perhaps in some ways that was for the best. After all, it wouldn't have been uncharacteristic for the young she-cat to say something insensitive just out of the sheer amazement of her denmates having experienced a shark attack so early on, whereas she had only had a rather uneventful day of finding air pockets.

Alarm ran through Dusk as the training patrol returned. Rising to his paws, he hurried over and gave his deputy a sniff. She didn't need to say anything to let him know something had happened. Guard warriors being tired enough to collapse by the entrance told him that much. The group had also been out for longer than he'd expected. Trotting back to the common space, his gaze roamed over who was available. "Wave!" His voice was sharp, but mostly as a means to catch her attention. The she-cat turned to blink at him, unbothered. "Go fetch the medicine cats." According to others, they took a trip to the land to fetch herbs. While Dusk didn't think the shark to have followed the patrol back from the reef, nor would he expect the warriors to have even allowed it to do so, he didn't want to risk sending out a younger warrior. While others in the tribe might question Wave's abilities, Dusk knew she'd be fine. Once the she-cat had left, he returned to the patrol. They'd managed to dragged themselves to the common space. Sniffing through the fresh kill pile, Dusk brought it over to the apprentices. Setting it down gently, he nudged it towards them. "Eat." Lowering his booming voice, he waited patiently. But neither seemed too eager to tuck in. "Come on, now. You've done a lot of swimming." After a moment, Swoop leaned down to take a mouthful, but it was clear his mind was elsewhere. While the apprentices nibbled, Dusk sniffed them over for any other signs of shock. It was common knowledge that shock underwater could easily paralyze a cat, but it could be just as bad out of the water and that's what most cats tended to forget. Deeming they'd be fine until Wind returned and could take a look at them, he left them be. Returning to where the warriors had settled, he took a spot with them. "What happened?" He murmured.
Swoop didn't need to be told twice to stay close to his mentor. The swim back felt far more tiring than he remembered the journey there. Upon their return, Glow's praise didn't sit well in Swoop's heart. He felt he hadn't done much. The warriors did all the fighting! Leaning on Splash, and feeling her lean on him, they slowly made their way to the common space. Dusk's voice sounded so far away. Soft fur brushed past them as Wave left. It took him a moment to realize their leader was speaking to them. Blinking up at the large tom, he repeated his encouragement. Eat? Looking down, he noticed the fish in front of them. Oh. Eat. As if robotically, he leaned down to take a small bite. If he were more awake, he'd definitely have felt embarrassed to feel Dusk's muzzle running along his flank. Eventually, the tom left them be and Swoop sank down to all four paws. He barely had enough energy to pull the fish closer. Glancing over, he nuzzled his sister. "Splash? You okay?"

(busy weekend I'll also be slow responding during this week I have a doctors appointment, a hair appointment and a gender reveal party! )
Wave stared at her leader with distant eyes as he gave her an order. She turned and slinked into the water, while most cats, some more than others, didn't believe in the land born cats abilities Wave had worked extremely hard to become powerful under the waters depths. The warrior swam at a strong pace towards the shore. When she arrived she quickly shook herself, the water clung to her fur and made her look much smaller but she was unbothered even by the wind striking her making her colder than normal. She followed the pawprints of three cats, recognizing her tribe mates scent. When she came upon them she recognized the medicine cat and her apprentice, and of course the rage filled warrior next to them as Fire. She bounded to them, disrupting whatever they were previously discussing. "a group of cats just returned, it looks as if they have gone head to head with a shark. Dusk asked me to come fetch you." She brushed off Fires burning gaze like it was any other cat looking at her. Wave had dealt with the tom for a long time as well as many other hate fueled gazes. Not all of them of course were so cruel but it was hard to earn your place when you were born on land.
Star lifted her head as her leader returned to the warriors, she glanced at the apprentices concern showing in her eyes as she recounted what happened. "A shark showed up, the apprentices went up for air and it went right for them. The three of us managed to fight it off." Her eyes grazed over the other two warriors "we were very lucky I see no major injuries, lots of small ones though." The she-cat attempted to stand but she winced quickly and returned to her comfortable position a little longer She was irritated that she was in so much pain but she knew she should remain still until the medicine cats could look at her no matter how stubbornly she wanted to stand. The images of the shark played in her mind and she turned her attention back to the apprentices "Thunder and Glow did a great job. I can't be certain if the shark will come back but it took quite a thrashing."
Splash stared at the food with uncertain eyes, before she finally leaned down and took a small bite, it had no taste though she was certain it would have tasted lovely if she hadn't been so distant in her head. She jumped as her brother called her name and she turned to look at him "yeah" the words felt like they weren't her own but she was sure this would all pass after a very long nap. She then remembered her brother had been through just as much and her concern peaked "are you okay?" She asked gently, looking over the tom her eyes now becoming more present in the moment. She gently touched her nose to her brothers shoulder in concern. She was glad everyone was okay. On the bright side they had quite the story to tell.

(( Sorry for how long it took to get back to ya'll, between holidays, vet appointments, and taking care of my own clans... well, I've been falling behind to say the least LOL Just gonna post for Flower since everyone else seems to have the warrior stuff covered, can't imagine Glow having much to add rn, though feel free dink me if ya'll need something of him. Speaking of flower, I might adjust her appearance later, been working on a new reference like a FOOL.) Alarm shot through the young Medicine Cat's apprentice as the finless cat approached them with the most troubling of news regarding their clanmate's current condition. A shark attack simply wasn't something that was to be taken lightly, and whereas she may not have veiwed land cats as the threat Fire did, she certainly viewed a shark as one. The fur along her slender pelt bristled openly as concern flashed acrossed her face, shooting a nervous glance towards her mentor. She nodded frantically as the Medicine Cat inquired to their readiness, promptly picking up some of the herbs in an attempt to help her mentor with getting everything home that much quicker.
"Ready..!" she meowed through the small bundle of herbs between her teeth, visually attempting to seem calmer than she was, though her whisker-like protrusions twitched with the unspoken anxiety. She only hoped the injuries hadn't been too severe.

Wind snapped out of it, hearing her clanmate's words We'll go right away. Thank you Wave. If you're injured, let us know and we'll try and help you too"she said as she picked up the herbs. She quickly headed towards the water. Once in, she swam as quickly as her body allowed towards camp

is all good y'all :3]
Dusk frowned. He could imagine the scene as Star described it. He wondered if he should've sent more warriors with them, but too many bodies in the water made hunting hard. And while he didn't expect the apprentices to catch anything on their first attempts, it did no good to make things more difficult. But did that include taking the risk when it came to the dangers of the water? Shaking his head, he glanced back over to the apprentices. At least they seemed more relaxed. His own was napping. "Well, it's a good thing sharks don't move in pods like dolphins. I'm glad to see you're all doing alright." While it would've been strange of him to say otherwise, he still felt the desire to mention it. "And well done. We'll give them some time before we take them back out into the water, I think."
Swoop purred and pressed closer to Splash. Since they were both safe and back at camp, really that was all he could ask for. As his mind came out of the cloud of fear, his eyes roamed the common space in search of their denmate. "Just wait until we tell Leaf about it." The tendrils on his face quivered. "Think she'll be glad she wasn't there or jealous?" He wished he would've watched the warriors fight the shark than keep his head above water. It would've made for a better story, but maybe his sister could fill in for that.
[also, can't wait to see the reference O-O

Wave slowly followed behind as she was all too aware of the eyes that burned with hatred like flames on her fur. She ignored him though, Fire had always been like that and like it or not they were tribemates, even he knew they were equals despite his anger towards her. She had handled all kinds of looks her life in the tribe and very few were of acceptance. She stood out even to younger cats, it was obvious she was not born under the sea like the rest of them. Although the younger generations seemed more open minded until they learned the disdain of land cats. Wave was no stranger to being an outsider, she had the respect of her leader and that was enough for her. She kept up with the pace just fine, she may not have fins but she had spent almost her whole life with her tribe and had passed the trial of the ocean at a young age.
Star glanced up at her leader, she was exhausted but her eyes held the fierce determination she always seemed to carry. "If I'm cleared I would like to go with a patrol tomorrow to make sure it has left the area." She wanted to make sure it was safe before allowing the mentors to resume any training in that area, and it was the best place to hunt in their territory so she would much rather ease her fears sooner than later.
Splash seemed to brighten up at the mention of Leaf, now settling into the comfort of their home and her chest began to swell. Of course she was going to exaggerate it a little when she told their fellow apprentice. "I bet she'll be jealous we got to see the warriors in action against a big beast like that!" Her eyes were back to their normal shine, she hadn't seen as much of the fight as she would have wanted but surely Leaf wouldn't know the difference. She glanced around looking for the other apprentice, her large tail now sliding against the ground with excitement.

Moon that Sits Over the Lake || 15 moons || Warrior || Darkwillow Moon is a silver tom with sleek fur and a gradient of black and silver scales running along his back and tail. He has midnight purple fins located behind his knees and on his elbows, and a powerful tail to help control himself in the water. He has blue eyes flecked with silver. Moon is a warm-hearted and easy-going cat, trying his best to be friendly to his tribemates. His care for his clanmates can cause him large amounts of worry and he can be very protective at times, but he means well. He is littermates with Whisper, whose comforting nature tends to calm him.
Dew from Settling Fog || 6 moons || Apprentice || Darkwillow Dew is a pretty blue-green scaled she-cat with protruding white chest fur and deep green eyes. She has small silver horns on her forehead and fins on her cheeks. Although just beginning her apprenticeship, Dew can be a little headstrong at times. She is painfully honest and has a sarcastic and witty sense of humor. Dew sometimes can't take the hint to stop teasing, and this causes her to accidentally offend her tribemates at times. Past all the sarcasm and wit, though, is an awfully fun individual to be around.

Dusk nodded. "I'll go as well." He regretted not having been there, even if the training session with Leaf had been a good one. "It'll give the apprentices some time to recover as well. We'll keep them close to camp for the time being so if they panic, we'll be able to get them inside quickly." Talking more to himself than the patrol, the big tom's eyes flickered back towards the youths. At least they were eating. It seemed the daze had worn off. Swoop purred. "One day, we'll be the ones attacking the shark." Noticing the huddle of warriors, his tendrils quivered. "Think they'll keep us camp-bound for a while?" He sure hoped not. They'd just been made apprentices, he didn't want to lose that freedom and exploration just yet. [Moon and Dew look great, Dark Star will mentor Dew~
