( Hawkeyes258 Honestly, I thought it was perfect and not necessarily letting off easy. The not being at the gathering part especially would kill me, after all of what happened. The gathering is BOUND to be juicy ) Palewhisker -- Warrior's Den -- With Shadowstep, Little meow meow ; and Gorseleap, 🐦silvermoon2🐦"We just want to talk." Palewhisker started. Though the words were friendly enough, the tone was firm. "I didn't see you pay your respects to your clanmates." She hadn't originally intended on taking the round about approach to questioning Shadowstep, but her frustration over the former Mossclan cat's disrespect was burning her paws. He hadn't even acknowledged them in the slightest. Obviously, a guilty conscious or a complete lack of care kept him away. She let the statement hang in the air as a question, wondering what his response would be. She stared rigidly at him, openly distrustful, though not yet outrightly accusing him of anything. She was aware of the presence of Gorseleap next to her, and that, along with the knowledge that they were still close to the warrior's den's exit should a hasty retreat be necessary, gave her comfort.

(( Mhm, exactly! Firepaw and Featherpaw are biased rn for their own reasons (Firepaw feeling like he deserves worse, and Featherpaw being a medicine cat apprentice means she already does 'menial things' like caring for the elders and stuff) but ultimately I think Greystar was being fair and Amberleaf, in thought at least, thinks positively of Greystar not OVER-doing it while also slipping in some extra punishment that would be more offensive to Featherpaw. Ultimately, even the fact it's not as bad as it COULD have been is a form of punishment for Firepaw... while the punishment itself was actually completely fair in general. ))

(Agreed, it was pretty fair. Plus Crowpaw at this point probably knew he would be allowed at the gathering either way haha)

Shadowstep♂ Shadowstep was silent at first, as if considering the she-cat's words carefully, briefly wondering if she was as daft as she was obvious. Of course, to say something like that would be more fuel for a fire he was neither interest in nor ready to light. "I respect their sacrifice well enough to allow their clanmates peace to mourn." he stated rather directly and far from the friendly tone if Palewhisker, "Or would you rather I bring discomfort to those currently mourning with my presence? I'm neither blind nor deaf, Palewhisker." The black tom's tone remained even, though his eyes narrowed coldly at the she-cats. He hadn't heard Palewhisker and Gorseleap's conversation, by any means, referring rather to the murmurings and glares of the clan cats that felt little more than anger, fear and distrust for his suspicious absence at the border.
"That said, I respect your intelligence enough to believe that your purpose for disturbing me was not only for the sake of chastizing me over the mourning rituals of our clanmates." he began once more, the tip of his tail flicking back and forth with mild annoyance, "As such, I would give you the opportunity to speak what you wish, directly, as to avoid wasting both my time and yours." It wasn't as if he could say for certain he knew what they wanted, although he could wager a guess based on the evident distrust visible even in the darkness, but he certainly was in no mood to fool about as they pranced around formality.

(Okay I'll roll with it then! Plus I imagine someone will get in trouble later on) Greystar gives Amberleaf a nod of his head. "That sounds reasonable to me. Anything else the mentors want to add is good by me." Hopefully this would be the final surprise for the day. He hoped the next few days would be better than today. "If there nothing else you all are dismissed."

With a respectful nod to his leader and deputy, Crowpaw made his way to the center of camp where his fallen clanmates lie, letting out the breath he didn't know he was holding. He didn't know any of them, never grow up in the moorlands with them, and never had a chance to form a life-long bond with them, but in his heart he knew he had to give them the proper farewell they deserved for defending their clan with honor. Punishment or not, it was something he would have done either way. He quickly looked around the clearing, no one seemed to have any objections to the former rouge going near the fallen. The dark colored tom settled down next to one of the bodies, preparing for a long night of vigil.

Reedwing (with Haretooth, camp) bluewonderReedwing watched as the apprentices slunk away. The punishment from Greystar had been fair in her view, but she would ensure that it was upheld to a high standard in the upcoming moon - there was no space for error at the moment. The clan was as brittle as she'd ever seen it, and the usual leniency she had for the mischivious antics of young apprentices had shrunk given the circumstances. Nodding her farewell to Greystar and Amberleaf, she made her way back into the clearing, her eyes landing on each of the grieving clanmates in turn. She felt a twinge of surprise in seeing Crowpaw showing respect to their fallen clanmates, especially considering he hadn't know any of them very well. Nearby she spotted Haretooth sitting vigil and decided to head over. The earlier argument had sown some unrest amongst the clan, and she would do her very best to smooth things over with the elder. 'Haretooth,' the deputy mewed gently as she approached, dipping her head in respect to the older cat to whom she'd come to for advice many times in the past moon. ' How are you?'Mothpaw (apprentice den, open)Mothpaw lay curled up in her nest, moss tickling her nose as she tried to come to terms with everything that had happened. The morning had started so calmly... just like any other day... and now this. Although she'd drawn back from the grieving clan outside, she wished desperatly for someone to come and keep her company - her will to be alone at odds with her will to be with friends, a feeling she had often.

Amberleaf • Tom • Medicine Cat Location: Medicine Cat's Den, Open Amberleaf nodded his gratitude toward's Greystar, hardly reacting to his apprentice's objection to her punishment. "We can all hope for a more peaceful evening." He uttered, almost finding it amusing in a morbid way how everything had hit them all at once. Well, it could be worse, he'd tell himself, even if it was hard to wager such a thing against the death of three cats being the very first disruption of the day. With a sigh, the ginger Medicine Cat rose to his paws and headed towards the den, knowing well it was about time to bring out the lavender. After all, not only would it mask the scent of death, but the calming nature of Lavender's scent might just offer some aromatic comfort to the grieving clan.
Although he noted Featherpaw glancing at him expectantly as he passed by, the tom flicked his tail dismissively, clearly making the serious nature of her punishment known before disappearing beneath the high rock into his own den. A tragedy he hadn't gotten the chance to thank young Featherpaw for sorting everything so meticulously in his absence, but it was what it was. Unless disturbed otherwise, Amberleaf went about collecting the lavender he would require, making mental note of herbs he was likely to need for those who grieved the most. Primarily those who bore direct lineage to the fallen he imagined. Birchheart • Tom • FighterLocation: Galeclan Camp with Thorneyesbluewonder With the decisions finalize, the cats departing, and Birchheart himself starting to feel the weight of exhaustion pull at his sagging shoulders, the ginger pulled himself from where he'd been sitting to witness the leader's verdict on the young cats. His eyes slowly glanced over the forms of his fallen clanmates once more, and pausing with greater grief over Robinflame's ginger body. Despite having been there to collect the bodies, knowing who they all were, he had not let the true grief overwhelm him over witnessing what once was the body of his only remaining brother. He hardly thought Sandstrike would take it particularly well either but he couldn't blame her either. It felt as though he, himself, was only trying to block out the pain but it still seeped into him now that the active chaos was dwindling once more to quiet mourning. They'd lost Liontail already to a border dispute, and now Robinflame had joined him for similar reasoning -- even Birchheart was struggling to keep it together but he was fairly good at masking his own misery, comforting those around him with the calm words he himself struggled to hold onto.
Perhaps it was because of that he couldn't bring himself to say goodbye yet, maybe when night came and few could see the emotions he had to lay bare. He'd also have to find Sandstrike if she hadn't showed up yet, she'd need to know but that was yet another thing he felt unsure he was ready to approach. Glancing around, his green eyes landed on the form of Thorneyes just off to the side on his own, deciding to pad over to the sulking cat. "Greetings, Thorneyes. Holding up okay?" he inquired softly as he approached, gathering that the tom didn't seem his normally peppy self. Of course, the large ginger hardly blamed the fellow, it was hard to muster any form of cheer with the lost of three clanmates all at once. The mixed feelings around camp had hardly offered any form of comfort for those there to witness it. Featherpaw • She-cat • Medicine Cat's ApprenticeLocation: Galeclan Camp with CrowpawJunospower Realizing further argument would only make things worse and certainly not get her way, Featherpaw puffed her cheeks in annoyance but said no more. Greystar had made his choice and she knew Amberleaf wouldn't budge on his own either, thus she knew she was officially little more than an aimless apprentice until the sentence they all shared passed. A whole moon.. Absolute torture. Even so, she did realize that perhaps she was being a bit too selfish on the matter, even if humility wasn't her strong point and perhaps she was considering she hadn't apologized to the apprentice she had led into trouble so soon into joining the clan in the first place.
Glancing to her mother, she offered a short apology and a word of parting before trotting back to the center of camp, fur prickling as the realization began to hit for real. Before she'd been so concerned with finding Firepaw that she could hardly focus on what was happening here, but seeing the bodies delicately lined up with care... The gravity of the situation caused her shoulder's to droop with the realization that they really were gone. Cat's she'd known her whole life and they were gone before she even had the chance to help them.
A shudder rippled through her fur, but she forced herself to step closer to the snowy form of Snowtooth, the cat the recalled with the most familiarity. Featherpaw remembered one of the only proper training sessions she'd been on before becoming a medicine cat's apprentice was led by Snowtooth, and the rumors that she might even have become the pale ginger apprentice's mentor in the future before Amberleaf took her on the path of a Medicine Cat. All heresay but it had made her feel a sense of guilt but also admiration for the warrior, one that occassionally had made her wonder what that could have been like. She certainly wouldn't have known, but she hardly wanted the permanence of death to end such thoughts. As she curled up beside the soft form, Featherpaw glanced back at Crowpaw who lay adjacent to her beside the body of Brindlestream and uttered a soft, "Sorry for getting you into trouble." before falling silent for the vigil, resting her head on the warriors shoulder. Firepaw • Tom • ApprenticeLocation:Galeclan Camp beside Wisteriaflowerdaydreams Firepaw felt the exhaustion brought on by not only their activities for the day but the mental and emotional strain that came with the influx of tragic knowledge. His own, perhaps overdramatic, guilt hardly offered him any relief as he was dimly aware that the other two apprentices had already departed for the bodies. He, however, remained stuck in place, unsure if he even felt comforted by the warmth of his mother's contact and equally unsure if he had it in him to go lay amongst warrior's far greater than himself who had died while he spent the morning complaining about training. His emotions were a confused and conflicted mass of clouds suffocating him and he felt more lost than even among the heather. Toadpaw • Tom • ApprenticeLocation: Apprentice's Den with Mothpawblu Finally growing tired of the anxiety that plagued him endlessly as he lay curled in a frightened mass of gray and black fur, a sigh escaped the young Toadpaw as he slowly lifted his head and glanced towards the exit. He hadn't been able to fall asleep, despite his stunning in act pretending to sleep so that he wouldn't be drug along ont Featherpaw and Crowpaw's misadventures looking for Firepaw. Maybe there was some guilt of indirectly abandoning them amongst his emotions, even if they hadn't actively asked for his help. He wasn't sure he wanted to go back out, but had long since formed the loose hope that since no one had come for him, at least his father couldn't have been among the bodies. It was a faint hope but one that brought him a sliver of comfort nonetheless.
Although he'd noticed Mothpaw's return, like the others, he had simply chosen not to react nor invite friendly interaction among the dread he felt as though it wafted even into the Apprentice's den like a heavy fog. Granted, he wasn't sure he'd have known how to speak to her anyways, even with his mind slightly less wrapped up in fear he found himself unsure how to even begin on approaching the other apprentice. Rather than actively do so, he slunk towards the exit, quietly peaking from the darkness into the center of camp. "I guess it's quieted down.." he murmured, mostly to himself with a touch of relief. The mourning was still in process, of course, but at least all the formal addresses and cries for justice had settled. He snorted inwardly at the thought, as if there was any justice or honor to be had in all this.

The thin ginger tom nodded to his sister sympathetically, leaving her with her son unpack and recover from the morning's drama. As Greystar finished up the announcement of the apprentice's punishment, Kestreltalon felt it might befit the situation to check in with the leader about his conduct and that of the apprentices. A lot had happened and he felt it his duty as a senior warrior to go to Greystar directly rather than murmur about camp all day. As the silver gray tom leapt gracefully from the high rock, Kestreltalon approached, dipping his head respectfully to his leader.
"Greystar, a word if you have the time," he meowed. "I don't want to bother you if you're busy, but I've been meaning to speak with you."

Little meow meowThe dark colored apprentice shook his head, “This was my decision, you didn’t force me to do anything.” His voice was reassuring and earnest, knowing that Featherpaw was going to blame herself. He turned to look at Firepaw, who was still standing nearby, frozen solid. Crowpaw’s eyes flickered between him and the bodies, silently urging the ginger tom to join them.

Featherpaw • She-cat • Medicine Cat's ApprenticeLocation: Camp Clearing with CrowpawJunospower Even with the assurance, Featherpaw couldn't help but feel rather bad about it, though perhaps it was more the self-pity at her own expense as selfish as that thought was. Not only was she missing out on her first gathering as a Medicine Cat Apprentice, but she'd also been practically stripped of her duties for a whole moon and she wasn't yet sure if that counted the half-moon gathering of Medicine Cats, could Amberleaf even deny her that right? Then again, would the Medicine Cat's gathering even be safe to occur?
Granted, it was well known knowledge that Medicine cats were above the squabbles of the clans and were ever granted immunity even during times a strife, but if Mossclan had killed all the border patrol, would they ignore that part of the code too? A shiver rippled down her spine at the thought and the young she-cat suddenly wasn't too concerned about sleep taking her during the vigil. Firepaw • Tom • ApprenticeLocation: Camp Clearing with Wisteriaflowerdaydreams Seeming to get enough of a grip to catch Crowpaw's movement, Firepaw glanced up miserably with a confused blink initially before realizing it was probably for the best just to settle in. However, as he began to move away from his mother, he paused with a sudden look of shock on his face, briefly chasing away his misery.
Although he nodded that he'd be with Crowpaw and Featherpaw shortly, he turned back to his mother and pawed at her leg to get her attention. "B-Before I go... Mom, I have to tell you something!" he exclaimed in a frantic whisper, though he was clearly trying not to seem too suspicious. "It's a secret though." he added softly, trying to make it clear they had to go somewhere no one could hear them before he told her. He'd certainly berate himself later for almost forgetting to share with her the message he was told to, but for now he was just glad he'd remembered, and hoped it was okay to put off joining the other apprentices for just a moment longer.

Thorneyes -- Side of Galeclan Camp -- With Birchheart, Little meow meow
Thorneyes let out a sigh he didn't realize he had been holding and straightened to greet Birchheart. "I guess as well as any of us. It's just... so sad." He shook his head. "I know you of all cats must be hurting. I'm sorry for your loss. Robinflame was a great cat."
Palewhisker -- Warrior's Den -- With Shadowstep, Little meow meow ; and Gorseleap, 🐦silvermoon2🐦
Palewhisker fluffed her fur out in disdain, no longer holding any pretense of formality. Who did this cat think he is, trying to dictate how the conversation went? "You want us to get to the point? Fine!" She hissed. "There are three loyal Galeclan cats out there dead, and one disloyal Mossclan traitor who is one of the only survivors." Her claws unsheathed and sank into the ground, half from distrust and half as a threat. She wouldn't dare try to take the punishment of this tom into her own paws without Greystar's approval, but she wanted Shadowstep to understand she was completely serious. She also unconsciously took a step in front of Gorseleap. Gorseleap being a hunter and younger than her, Palewhisker felt incredibly protective over the fellow she-cat in this moment. "You haven't said a word to any cat about what happened or where you went. You barely tried to feign shock when you saw their bodies. You came up with this lame excuse as to why you wouldn't even bow your head in respect to them as you passed. I'm no medicine cat, but I can read the signs." Her eyes glinted, fear shoved aside as adrenaline took over. "You were involved in this, weren't you?"
Haretooth -- Middle of Galeclan Camp -- With Reedwing, blu
Haretooth held her position a moment, her nose against her fallen clanmates, then slowly opened her eyes and turned towards the sand colored deputy. "I saw them all kitted." She said in a gravelly whisper, almost to herself. Her eyes then focused more clearly on Reedwing, and she continued. "I sometimes wonder why Starclan takes some cats so young while others get to live until they're old and useless, like me." She allowed herself to lean into Reedwing in a familiar way, unaware that her clumped and slightly unkempt calico coat might be offputting. She considered most all the clan her family, and held a special fondness for the deputy as she seemed to maintain a respect for her elders even as she grew. Plus, there was something endlessly endearing to the grandmotherly figure about a young cat with a bright future. She debated her next words, not wanting to trouble someone so young, but, respecting her position enough to know she could handle her concerns, she continued. "But Starclan didn't take them from us, Reedwing. Mossclan did. My eyesight isn't perfect and my hearing gets worse every day, but this nose has served me for many seasons. That scent was Mossclan."
(Ugh I just love roleplaying elders for some reason lol thank you for going over to talk to her Blu.
Also just the contrast of poor Thorneyes, so chill and nice, completely unaware that Palewhisker is lighting the camp on fire with Shadowstep and Gorseleap in there lolol )

Crowpaw - GaleClan Camp with Featherpaw - Little meow meow Crowpaw turned back to Featherpaw, who's eyes were clouded in deep thought. "Something on your mind?" He whispered. He could sense the young she-cat's distress, and to him, Featherpaw was the first and only cat in camp he would consider a friend, the first cat that didn't glare at him for being an outsider, he would listen to anything the apprentice had to say.

(( Hehe, I like causing problems on purpose )) Birchheart • Tom • FighterLocation: Galeclan Camp Clearing with Thorneyesbluewonder Birchheart couldn't ignore the pang in his chest upon hearing Robinflame's name and knowing it would only be spoken in past tense from now on, though he was certainly putting his best effort into appearing stronger than he was. Even so, no matter how strong he tried to be, it wouldn't take away the knowledge they all knew, He was a fairly soft cat despite his looks and his brother was among the dead this day, something that tragically wasn't the first. "I suppose that's a fair response..." he began, glancing back at the bodies that still had plenty of mourners among them, now including two of the three apprentices, "It feels as if it was only yesterday that Liontail joined Starclan, it's hard to believe Robinflame joins them this day as well." His voice remained as even as he could muster, but the grief was something he could not filter from his voice.
"But I thank you for your words, Thorneyes, Robinflame would be honored to hear such words. I do find myself worrying more for Sandstrike, she's still a young warrior and I fear her temperament still gets the best of her." He replied as his attention returned fully to Thorneyes with a sigh. "Not that I can truly blame her, it hasn't been that long since she had to see one of use buried. Let alone a second... Ah, but brooding will do me no good now." The ginger tilted his head down to give his chest a swift lick and refocus his thoughts. "Speaking of Sandstrike, you haven't seen her, have you?" Shadowstep's ears flattened against his head in anger, one that matched the fury in his eyes but aside from the bristling of his fur, he remained in a laying position, tense but unwilling to give Palewhisker the satisfaction of actually seeing her as a threat worthy of even standing for. "And yet before this supposed 'Mossclan traitor' stands a self-important welp spitting words without a speck of evidence. An embarrassment not only to yourself but to Galeclan as whole." he snapped, tail lashing behind him in a fury that reach his tone. He had certainly suspected someone would eventually come at him directly with such words, but he almost felt offended it was some child barely in his age range that dared throw herself around as if she had the rank to command more than an apprentice to clean out the dirt of their elder's.
"Perhaps I gave your intelligence too much credit, any cat with sense could see I returned to camp with Bristlethorn or perhaps you were too busy glaring to use your eyes for something useful." he snorted in disdain for the arrogant she-cat, perhaps the exhaustion that plagued him only making him all the more irritable in regard to claims he saw as utterly baseless. "And I suppose you didn't bother asking Thistleheart why I wasn't with them either? No, that would have been too clever and wouldn't have fit your narrative. You are a disgrace and only show what little control Greystar has over his own warriors. I have no answers to give you." With those words the warrior looked away, turning up his nose in disgust at the she-cat's behavior. Perhaps he was the one being unfair to some degree, though he hardly cared to be kind in the face of such accusations. Granted, he had told her to skip the false pleasantries and if this were the result then so be it. Featherpaw • She-cat • Medicine Cat's ApprenticeLocation: Camp Clearing with CrowpawJunospower Featherpaw's head snapped up at the other apprentice's words, smiling a bit sheepishly as no joy was in that action. "Oh, it's nothing. Just thinking about the Medicine Cat's gathering..." she murmured half-heartedly. What had simply begun as the sad musings of uncertainty had grown into genuine worry for Amberleaf, one she doubted could be quelled with just words.
"Ah, but I say that without knowing how much you are aware of regarding all the Medicine cat... stuff..." she added with an awkward, equally half-hearted chuckle that ended almost as soon as it began. Even so, there was some comfort to be had that the gray and black warrior was trying. Although hardly unpopular among her peers in a traditional sense, joining the Medicine Cat's den so soon had certainly left her with fewer opportunities to build close friendships among cats her own age. Perhaps it was that detail that made her all the more pleased and willing to speak with Crowpaw as a friend despite how short a time they'd known one another.

Crowpaw - GaleClan Camp with Featherpaw - Little meow meowWith a quick look around to see if they weren't going to be scrutinized for talking, Crowpaw continued their conversation. "Not a whole lot, I must admit. Just that you help Amberleaf heal our clanmates," he whispered back, "It's a luxury that didn't exist really in my old group..." Crowpaw trailed off, thinking back to his kithood back in the twoleg place, all the more grateful he left.

Greystar watches as the cats slowly begin to walk away either to join their clanmates in mourning or to talk to one another. He takes notice of Firepaw seemingly locked in place before finally walking away. I may have to keep an eye on that one. This wouldn't be the last time the young tom got into trouble. He looks over at Kestreltalon when he mentioned him. "I'm not really busy, speak your mind."
Sandstrike found herself watching everything from the edge. She didn't want to believe that her brother was gone. If Mossclan did have something to do with this, she was going to make them pay! Robinflame was a good cat who didn't deserve to die!

(( bluewonder blu May have Thorneyes Mentor Mothpaw if thats alright with you two. Could be a good growing opportunity; Thorneyes' personality could positively conflict with Mothpaw (Given she's on the shy side while Thorneyes is super not) and her own work ethic might counter Thorneyes' tendency to cut corners. Also, ya know, general good experience giving Thorneyes some extra responsibility since Palewhisker is noted to have been a responsibility sponge, haha! ))

(Oh man I'm loving the sass of Shadowstep's internal thoughts and the way he is literally pushing all of her buttons? *chef's kiss* )
Thorneyes -- Side of Galeclan Camp -- With Birchheart, Little meow meow
The mention of Liontail's name brought even more heaviness to Thorneyes's heart. He couldn't imagine how much heavier the broad fighter's must be. Thorneyes couldn't help but feel a sense of helplessness. He was a hunter, and often a lazy one at that. How could he help his clan survive this new threat? How could he heal their hurt? It felt impossible. And now his clanmate was asking him yet another question he didn't know the answer to. "Sandstrike... no, I haven't seen her." Thorneyes felt like he hadn't seen much of anyone except the lifeless bodies in camp. "But I'm sure she's here somewhere. Somecat would have already said something if she wasn't, especially after those apprentices went missing." He hoped he sounded reassuring. "Maybe she's still in the warriors den." He turned that direction and looked back at Birchheart, a silent offer to walk with him to seek the young she-cat out. He felt as though perhaps Birchheart felt similarly to him, unable to handle the morbid rigidity of a vigil at the moment, and could maybe use company as he searched out his sister. And furthermore, it gave Thorneyes something to do, to keep his mind off of what was happening. Perhaps they could continue talking on the short walk across the camp to the warriors den.
Palewhisker -- Warrior's Den -- With Shadowstep, Little meow meow ; and Gorseleap 🐦silvermoon2🐦
Palewhisker's anger rose as she intuited Shadowstep's disrespect towards her, the flippant tone he was taking with her, the way he wouldn't even rise to meet her challenge. Above most all things, the dilute tabby hated being belittled, and that, along with the dark cat mocking her intelligence and the leadership of Greystar with such disdain, infuriated her further. "An embarrassment to Galeclan?" she quoted back, spitting, not caring that he was once more turned away from her. "And who gives you the right to speak on behalf of Galeclan- because I guarantee no cat out there wants you to speak for them. The only embarrassment and disgrace I see in Galeclan is you. Greystar was kind enough to accept you into our home, and you just openly disrespected him, just like you disrespect the death of our clanmates, and just like you disrespect all of us." "...Oh, you don't think we notice? Well we do. You always stay at least twelve tail-lengths away from anyone in clan, thinking who knows what about us, like you can just mock us from your little shadowy corners. You've never tried to fully integrate into clan life here, and it's obvious you couldn't care less about us. Even if you had nothing to do with this- which I know for a fact that you must have- it's just a matter of time before you left us or turned on us anyway. You have loyalty to no one, and I wouldn't trust you for all the mice in the world." She ended her little speech with another spit of disgust. In all honesty, this conversation went much more differently than she was originally planning, but something about Shadowstep made her incredibly frustrated. The grievances she had about him she had held for quite a while, but this incident was the fire that brought the mistrust to a boiling point. Her emotions had been overwhelmed, and her sense of justice, and maybe moreso her sense of needing to be the one to bring that justice, caused her to overact, especially since Greystar had said they wouldn't take action against Mossclan itself yet. She had never confronted someone this way in her life, usually being a much kinder, if a bit overbearing, cat. And somewhere in the back of her mind she remembered Toadpaw, whom she had no real quarrel with due to his age. But in this moment, she regretted nothing, still feeling truly like the tom was nothing but a threat to her loved ones. True, she hadn't noticed Bristlethorn with Shadowstep when they entered camp. Perhaps she was too focused on the tom, trying to find answers to the latest crime. Or perhaps, and Palewhisker thought perhaps more likely, Shadowstep had just trailed his clanmate as she came in to try and give himself an alibi. And Thistleheart? She didn't need to ask him anything, the same scenario applied. Shadowstep must have given some sort of excuse, and the patrol probably allowed it, not wanting to look rude or biased to the outsider. But Palewhisker wouldn't let down her guard so easily anymore. There was no room for niceties when her clanmate's lives were at stake.

(I just saw the post with Sandstrike, we can go to the warrior's den and interrupt the drama still if you want or Birchheart can redirect them that way, whatever ya'll think best. ) (I love the idea of that, LMM! I'm cool if Blu is! And if not that's perfectly fine too! ) (Also sorry for the wall of text, I can't seem to format it to make it look less... yucky.)

{I am so upset. I just finished my replies that I had started the other day, and they completely disappeared, so I just had to rewrite them! I am bone tired, weekends are the absolute worse. I had to work three ten hour shifts this week and pull an overnight to prepare for easter sales.} ✸✸❣✸✸
The ginger molly had barely paid attention as Greystar dished out the punishments for the three apprentices. The mother was simply happy that her children and Crowpaw were safe and alive. The feeling of her son next to her was enough to completely simmer the rage their disappearance had caused within her. The warrior stared absently at the fallen bodies of their companions. She would sit vigil for a little while before making her exit. Wisteriaflower often felt uneasy amongst the other dedicated warriors, and she often could only stand such ceremonies for short times before she had to leave, before the anxiety clawed at her chest and caused her breathing to quicken. Already, she could feel it rising within her, but she did her best to push it down.
The feeling of her son pawing at her leg snagged her attention. She turned her head down towards Firepaw, her gaze following only seconds later. His frantic ton was enough to have her on her rising to her paws quickly. "Alright then. Lead the way, I'll follow and you can tell me what it is."
Mothpaw {blu} // Apprentices' Den ✸✸❣✸✸
The grey and white apprentice sat outside the apprentices' den with his littermate. The nosey pair had watched the scene with their den mates unfold, their curiosity too strong for them to not watch the punishment they received. Now the group was dispersing and there was no longer anything to keep the interest of the two of them. Lavateraspaw rose to a stand and looked at her brother over her shoulder. "You coming?" She inquired. He knew she was asking him to come along with her to sit vigil for the night, however Angeloniapaw couldn't bring himself to follow her. "I'm gonna sit this one out," He said as he shook his head. His sister shrugged her shoulders before padding off.
Rising to his paws, he turned around and made his way into the apprentices' den. Once inside, he found Mothpaw curled in her nest alone. Trotting towards her, he took a seat to her left. "Would you like some company?"

Birchheart • Tom • FighterLocation: Galeclan Camp with Thorneyesbluewonder Birchheart did well enough to hide his disappointment, not necessarily disappointed in Thorneyes lack of knowledge in regard to his young sister's location but more his own failure to keep some idea of where she was in general. She was certainly a warrior who hardly needed the watchful eye of her elder brother but, well... His unwatchful eyes had now seen two of his siblings die while he yet lived to suffer their absence. Once more, he had to remind himself that brooding would hardly help, let alone find Sandstrike. "Of course, you are right. With everything going on, I've little doubts I simply missed her." The large ginger replied, a bit more hopefully. After all, it was true he had been out of the camp more than inside what with goign to retrieve the patrol and then having to go out after the apprentices and honestly it really had just been a day.
Nevertheless, he would be glad for the company, and gratefully accepted the silent offer with an appreciative nod. "Then we can start by heading that way, even if she's not there, we could run into her on the way." he soon replied, trying to stay somewhat optimistic despite the nervous prickling in his paws. He wasn't sure if he was more nervous over the possibility of not finding her, or if it was the anxiety of speaking with her about Robinflame that weighed his paws down. Even so, he knew he'd rather find her over having to go on another fear-fuelled hunt for a lost sibling, especially since this time it would have been his.
(( I'll let Hawky decide if they intercept Sandstrike before hitting the Warrior's den )) Perhaps there was an almost morbid amusement among Shadowstep's anger as he allowed Palewhisker to go off without interruption. That anger of his almost seemed to lessen as her speech went on and though he refused to look back to her, there was an almost wistfulness to the otherwise cold stare to which he regarded the nothingness of the warrior's den. He certainly didn't see her as one who had much intelligence rattling around in that head of hers, but she certainly had her pride and to some degree he couldn't fault her for that much. Perhaps there was a time he might have met a possible traitor with the self-same fury that she displayed, but such a thing seemed a lifetime away and he had no such claims to the pride of a warrior any longer. Even as he had raised his hackles in opposition to Bristlethorn earlier that day in defense of his loyalty to Galeclan, he knew it wasn't loyalty that kept him here. In that regard, maybe Palewhisker was correct on some points, though her tact left much to be desired. In the end, he'd sacrificed loyalty to Mossclan for Rainstorm, and even if he could go back, he knew he'd have done it again for her, but it was never for Galeclan and what attempts he made to integrate during her life fell away just as quickly with her death.
"Maybe you are right, Palewhisker." He began, his voice still as cold as ever, though defeat cradled his tone deceptively, "I've not a leg to stand on nor the voice to speak for Galeclan, nor will I ever. I gave up pretending I could hope to achieve that much back... then..." His voice trailed off briefly as he struggled to force away the weakness that such memories plagued him with. When he seemed to recompose himself, he met the hostile eyes of Palewhisker with his own, "But if you are what Galeclan has to offer I can only pity this clan and the Warriors who look down upon it from Starclan in shame." he snapped, disgust burning in his eyes as he regarded the she-cat before him. "If you wish to frame me a traitor, take it to Greystar, or do you believe yourself more capable than the clan leader himself to see justice done? Is your ego so great, I wonder?" The black warrior narrowed his green eyes at the dilute cat, almost challenging her to prove just how foolish she was with his harsh gaze. "Regardless, I have nothing to hide and less to lose on baseless accusations from a warrior with the temper of a kit. You had my guilt decided long before you entered this den." Although he surely wasn't building a good case for himself with the she-cat by any means, his confidence lie in his innocence. After all, his loyalty to Rainstorm remained stalwart even in death -- This was the clan she had loved, and it was the clan their son had been born into. Even if this wouldn't have been enough for those of the clan to accept, it was enough to assure Shadowstep would cause it no harm, whether they were aware of that fact or not. He was hardly about to give them all the satisfaction of knowing what softness still clung to his heart regardless.
(( Shadowstep hates his life but not his dead wife -finger guns- )) Featherpaw • She-cat • Medicine Cat's ApprenticeLocation: Camp Clearing with CrowpawJunospower Featherpaw seemed far less concerned about being silenced that Crowpaw, though she hadn't exactly been too attentive to the consequences of their actions until said consequences had sprung so far today. Even so, she was sure someone would tell them to be quiet if and when it was required of them. "Yep, that's part of it. I can't image it's easy for non-clan cats in that regard..." she began with a nod, adjusting he position to better set her sights on the other apprentice as they spoke with a sympathetic glance. "You see, Medicine Cat's can speak to the spirits of our ancestors, the ones who have joined starclan. This puts Medicine Cat's even above the warrior code in a way, though they have their own code to follow too. It's part of the Warrior code, however, that Medicine Cat's cannot be attacked, even by warriors of opposing clans."
She hardly felt she was the best to explain this kind of thing to the other apprentice, but the pale ginger was sure going to do her best. ".. But Warriors also aren't supposed to kill eachother over border disputes... So, I can't help but worry that if it was Mossclan.. What's stopping them from attacking Amberleaf? And the Half-Moon is a special gathering for Medicine Cat's.. if they wanted to, they could easily..." Her voice trailed of as fear flashed acrossed her eyes that had drifted towards the Herb-scented den. Firepaw • Tom • ApprenticeLocation: Galeclan Camp with Wisteriaflowerdaydreams Grateful that Wisteriaflower had been so quick to respond, and more than a little relieved that he hadn't needed to make a larger scene, Firepaw made his way towards a less densely populated part of the camp. Leaving camp would have, of course, ensured more secrecy under normal circumstances but with his recent misdemeanors, he knew that simply wasn't an option. Thus, the young ginger made for a ledge towards the back of camp, nestled in a groove above and to the left of the Nursery. Although it was the same ledge as the Warrior's den, it was a fair distance away and most of the warriors wouldn't have been there at this time anyways, something the Ginger counted on providing them some privacy despite being otherwise visible.
Once he seemed satisfied, he sat down, looking anxiously towards his mother as he waited for her to settle along with him. Once he was sure she was ready and no one was listening in, he took a deep breath and began to speak in a hushed, but anxiety riddled whisper. "S-So.. when.. when I was out of camp by myself... I ran into a cat, he smelled funny, and he was very big... like Birchheart but bigger..." Firepaw began, suddenly seeming very troubled and feeling unsure how exactly to explain, "He didn't tell me his name... But he told me to deliver a message to you, by name... He made me promise not to tell anyone else." Despite trying to be forthcoming, the young apprentice's nerves were beyond simply frayed, and he was struggling to get the rest of the words out, looking up at his mother uncertainly. "He.. He said he wanted you to meet him at the horseplace.. during the gathering."

Crowpaw - GaleClan Camp with Featherpaw - Little meow meowCrowpaw listened earnestly to Featherpaw, letting the information she has given him absorb into his brain. The clan cat's belief in their ancestors was comforting to him, and it was belief he was willing to adopt. "I'm sure you and Amberleaf will be fine. I'm willing to bet a few mouse tails that Greystar- and perhaps Stormstar if MossClan's truly innocent, would probably assign a warrior or two to accompany you."The dark gray and black tom looked up at the sky that had just started to dim, brows furrowing in deep thought. Surely StarClan would protect my clanmates, right? They wouldn't allow these cats to wipe us out?

Featherpaw • She-cat • Medicine Cat's ApprenticeLocation: Camp clearing with CrowpawJunospower Featherpaw forced a smile, grateful if nothing else, though she seemed unconvinced by the optimism in Crowpaw's words. "I hope so... I'm sure Amberleaf would simply say Starclan had a plan or some melodramatic wise words..." she murmured, amusement in her words at the thought, sometimes herself having to wonder how much it was wisdom and how much was the cat simply not wanting to put in the effort to worry. "I just hope this is all some misunderstanding..." It was beginning to sink in just how unfortunate it was that the three of them would have to miss the gathering with how dire the results would be. Although, she now wondered who Greystar would be taken given the possibility of hostility."Huh... I wonder if Greystar is intending to take that many of the other apprentices... or even the elders..." she murmured mostly to herself without specifying where he would have been taking them at all.

Shadowstep♂ Location; Galeclan Camp With Bristlethorn, Clanmates
lunapaw🐾 As oblivious as ever to the thoughts of the she-cat, shadowstep followed through with his intentions, making his way back towards their previous kills and aiding in carrying what he could back to camp. He couldn't say their haul was impressive by natural standards but for leafbare it would have to suffice. There was also leniency to be had in this being an informal hunt in the spare time of a few warriors compared to a hunting patrol, thus he used that knowledge to assuage any discontent he might have felt for giving in so early.
It was a bit of a trip back, but soon enough the mound that concealed the camp appeared before them and the long limbed cat slipped around to the tunnel opening that led inside, grateful when it opened up into the small cavern. Pushing through was normally not that big a deal but it always seemed more complicated when one had to shove prey along the tunnel as well. However, that relief faded as the gloominess of the camp reached him, the sight of the bodies stretched alogn the center of camp causing his fur to bristle immediately. He managed to calm himself enough to deposit the prey in the freshkill pile before slowly stepping forward to witness the casualties. His blood ran cold and his muscles stiffened as he recognized the lifeless bodies, each from the patrol he'd been among that morning. They'd all been perfectly okay when he'd departed that morning, what could have happened?
Despite his thoughts, he was very aware of the eyes that had moved to him, and the murmurs that erupted in hushed accusatory tones. It was no secret Shadowstep had been among that patrol and yet he stood here alive and well, while the patrol did not. All save Thistleheart who he could barely make out off to the side with another cat. He suddenly had a feeling he wasn't going to have a very restful encounter. Featherpaw♀ Featherpaw initially looked very unconvinced by the warrior's words, unable to believe Firepaw would simply have gotten mildly lost, after all, she hadn't seen him since early that morning. She recalled how frustrated he had seemed about their deputy, who now lay dead among the row of cats, having not set up the initiate training patrol before leaving for Dawn patrol. It was not incorrect to say training had been falling a bit behind between the struggles of Leafbare and the comforts of extended peace, but it was no less frustrating to consider her brother might have acted foolishly in his desperation. He was so strict about following the Warrior code himself that she had doubted he'd run off on his own initially, but the more she'd thought about the loop holes he could expoit, the more she'd grown worried. It was with relief that she gazed upon her uncle as he seemed to grow more concerned as well, and she eagerly nodded in anxiety at his suggestion. "Okay, I'll check the apprentice's den.. maybe one of the other apprentices have seen him if he's not there." the latter half of her statement was more hopefulness for her benefit that even if she couldn't find him, maybe one of the others had.
Despite her worries, the additional words of comfort from Kestreltalon seemed to at least be landing now, the tense fear seeming to dwindle under his gaze, "Y-Yes, Uncle.." she had replied softly but hopefully before making a run for the Apprentice's den. It was nearby but she felt no less in a rush to search, desperately wishing she'd find him curled up in grumpy sleep. Despite these hopes, all she saw was the near empty den, only a few bodies curled among the moss and none of them the ginger form of her brother. "Has anyone seen Firepaw?" she called out softly into the darkness, hoping anyone awake might be able to offer some idea to his wherabouts. . ((Ill post for Birchheart once Reedwing has responded)) BristlethornGaleclan Camp with Shadowstep, Little meow meow The she-cat followed behind the tom eagerly, and helped to retrieve their prey. She was rather pleased with their little hunting trip, and didn't mind their early departure. She assumed she would be on another hunting patrol in due time, anyways. Bristlethorn's eyes filled with shock as they arrived at camp, and she dropped the prey without thinking, her jaws agape. "W-What happened?" She stammered, taking in the horrors before her.

(Wow you guys were busyyy while I was asleep) ( Little meow meow bluewonder Super happy to have Thorneyes mentor Mothpaw xx) Reedwing (with Haretooth, camp) bluewonder The light coloured deputy listened quietly as Haretooth spoke, giving the elder the space she needed to speak her mind. She couldn't imagine what it must be like to outlive so many young cats, and she briefly wondered at Starclan's sense of justice in allowing the lives of these warriors to be taken, before pushing the thoughts aside. Questioning the will of Starclan was not the place of a deputy, and if Amberleaf had recieved no signs or omens then she would stay quiet on the topic. It seemed that Haretooth had followed a similar thought process when she coldly indicted Mossclan for the deaths. The deputy had had her own doubts on the best action to take, and it seemed that Haretooth's position, unlike Greystars, was to take more immediate and deadly action. 'Mossclan will pay for what they've done.' Reedwing agreed with the elder, 'but Greystar must speak with Stormstar before we do anything, otherwise we may never recieve answers for what has occured.' The she-cat pressed closer against Haretooth, hoping that she could offer some comfort to the clearly grieving cat as she began to groom her ruffled pelt. Mothpaw (with Toadpaw and Angeloniapaw, apprentice den) Little meow meow daydreams Mothpaw barely reacted as the silver shape of Toadpaw appeared in her peripheral vision. She hadn't taken note of him when she'd come in, and even now she wasn't very inclined to speak with him as she didn't know him very well. At the young tom's remark however, she lifted her head slightly and gave him a sad look, 'hmm' she agreed quietly before resting her head on her paws once more. However, as she continued watching Toadpaw near the entrance, another shape appeared. Angeloniapaw made his way into the den and settled down beside her as she lifted her head and gave him a grateful look. 'Yes please.' she murmured as she placed her head onto his paws, not quite knowing what else to say and just happy to sit together in comfort.

(I apologize, I've been off work the past few days and bored around house and this is like one of the only RPs I'm in so I write a lot ) Thorneyes -- Crossing Galeclan Camp towards Warrior's Den -- With Birchheart, Little meow meow
Thorneyes nodded, trying to muster up some of his usual cheer. If Birchheart could stay optimistic, especially after his many losses, then so could he. Even still, Thorneyes found himself at a bit of a loss to find an interesting topic. "Er... the prey hasn't been too bad lately, considering it being leafbare." He started, fishing around in his mind for something to say. He wasn't proud that he ended up commenting on something as menial as the hunting, but it's all he could think of quickly. "I even managed to catch a squirrel that wasn't half-starved earlier today. It heard me crunch a dry leaf though and I had to zip about halfway up a tree to grab it. I've definitely seen worse leafbares." He cast a side-long glance at his walking companion, hoping he didn't offend him with smalltalk on such a tense day as this.
Haretooth -- Middle of Galeclan Camp -- With Reedwing, blu
Haretooth closed her eyes once more for a few moments, letting the rhythmic licks from Reedwing calm both her aching bones and soul. "No answer will be sufficient for what has been done." She grumbled, but with less fire than earlier. After sitting in a sad yet comfortable silence for a while, she looked back up at Reedwing. A young deputy, just as Robinflame had been. "I just want my clanmates to be safe. There's so little protection I can offer. I just hope Greystar isn't giving away our element of surprise, should it be needed." She returned a lick to Reedwing, on her head. "And I wonder if the gathering will remain peaceful, even before our leaders have a chance to speak."(Gonna reply with the other one here in a min)
