Greystar turns his head when he hears his name. Oh what is it now. He thought a little annoyed at the intrusion. Rising to his paws, he walks out of his den and looks down at Kestraltalon. "What is it?" He questioned wondering if something else had happened.

✸✸❣✸✸
The mother took long, deep breaths to calm herself down. The medicine cat was correct, she didn't want her children to come home to find her frightened out of her mind. As a single mother, Wisteriaflower had always been strong for her children. She didn't like it when they saw her break down and fall apart. She had to be strong for them. They didn't have a father to fall upon when their mother felt weak, so she stayed as calm as she could manage. "Thank you, Amberleaf." The molly straightened her spine out, standing up to her normally height so that she was no longer in a hunched over position.
Wisteriaflower's attention was redirected from the medicine cat when she saw her littermate, Kestreltalon, making his way towards her. Her sight moved past him to latch onto her two children following their uncle towards her. Anger filled her once again, mixed in with disappointment and relief that the two of them were both in one piece. "Where, in the name of Starclan, have the two of you been?" The mother snapped, approached her kittens to stand in front of them. She looked down at the two of them with wide green eyes, filled to the brim with the emotions that she felt. "Do you have any idea how worried sick you have made us? You could have been hurt!" She turned her attention to Featherpaw. Her daughter had been in the camp right before the group of warriors had went in search of Firepaw, that much she knew. She had seen her daughter shortly before she had closed her eyes for a nap. "Did it not cross your mind to wait for a warrior? I understand wanting to find your brother, but you are an apprentice, Featherpaw. A medicine cat apprentice, at that! You are not trained enough to go out searching on your own with another simple apprentice, especially not now! You knew there was danger out there with what happened to the patrol!" Her gaze snapped from her daughter to her son. "And you! What were you doing out there alone? You should always have someone with you. You never know what could happen!" The tracker's breathing had become heavy again, and she had to close her eyes to calm herself once more. When she did, the anger and disappointment faded quickly. She opened her eyes and moved towards her two children, nuzzling them both , using her tail to pull her daughter closer to her body as she laid her head on top of her son's. "Thank Starclan you both are okay," she whimpered lowly. Her gaze looked towards her brother, she mouthed a quick thank you at him to show her appreciation that he had found her mouse-brained children.
✸✸❣✸✸
The hairless runner stopped just outside of Galeclan camp's entrance, taking a deep breath. She was grateful to be out of camp, where tension was high. And it seemed they had left just in time as she heard the stern talking of Wisteraflower. Turning to her apprentice, she motioned for Swiftpaw to take the lead. "I'll follow behind you. I want to see if you've memorized the way. Remember, pace yourself so you don't run out of breath quickly!"

(Like, I'm sure they would have been in trouble anyway, but the fact that three cats literally just DIED makes everyone so much more on edge and like, I'm just here for the drama this is bringing. A learning moment for the apprentices for sure haha) Palewhisker -- Middle of Galeclan Camp -- With Gorseleap, 🐦silvermoon2🐦
Palewhisker narrowed her eyes. She didn't typically like to stir up rumors about her fellow clanmates, instead relying on her own achievements to help give her the status she much desired. However, with Shadowstep, the rumors seemed to write themselves. "I just... I think it's really strange that he was supposed to be on the patrol, and he's somehow perfectly okay." Her disdain for the warrior was laced in her words, much as she tried to hide it. Her guard had been let down a little by the fact that Gorseleap seemed responsive to her mistrust. "I wonder what he would have to say for himself if we asked him about it." She turned to look at Gorseleap. To have a second cat as witness to whatever the warrior had to say would be best when she inevitably got evidence against the dark tom. That way, it wouldn't be her word against his. Still, she didn't want Gorseleap to accompany her unless she also truly believed the tom could be trouble.

Birchheart♂ Resisting his immediate desire to flinch away from the Leader's rather displeased demeanor, Birchheart stepped back as to not block the den as Greystar stepped out, unable to resist flashing a look of sympathy towards the little family and Crowpaw who were certainly in for a tongue lashing at best. It wasn't as if the large ginger warrior could blame Greystar by any means, a lot had happened today and certainly no one was saddled more with that reality than the leader himself. Among the deaths themselves, the conflicting opinions among the clans and now something new to bring to his attention, all in one day, well, he couldn't say he'd have done any better.
Clearing his throat as if to ease his own nerves, the fighter began to explain, "It seems that this morning Firepaw disappeared from camp..." he gestured at the dark ginger tabby now half smothered in his mothers relieved affections, "As you can see, he's fine, but Featherpaw brought it to Kestreltalon's attention -- leading him and myself to head out after him. It seems somewhere between that and us leaving, Featherpaw and Crowpaw left camp to search for Firepaw on their own." Pausing once more, he flicked his tail towards the other two apprentices, the Medicine Cat's apprentice and the recently recruited non-clanborn tom, that were hardly hiding their guilt. "Although they've already been promised a night of sharing tongues with our fallen, in silence, by Kestreltalon... It is, of course, our duty to bring them before you for further punishment." Despite the pity he felt for the young cats, he was hardly going to mince words and his tone remained even through his explanation, not betraying the softness he may have succumbed to on his own.
Regardless of his sympathies for the young cats, they had done wrong and had to learn from their mistakes and with cats so worked up as they were already, they couldn't really afford the gentler approach. That and he had faith that Greystar would go only as hard as was necessary to teach a lesson, after all, Birchheart was a loyal cat and had seen the leader raise his current rank with all the dignity and wisdom a leader aught to have. Firepaw♂ Location; Galeclan Camp With Wisteriaflower
daydreams Firepaw remained silent under the words and distress fueled anger, only mewling out his apologies softly as he shuffled his paws guiltily on the ground before him. He really had made a right mess of things, and he did feel truly bad for the trouble he caused, certainly unwilling to make a case for his defense in any regard. The dark ginger tom understood well enough how poor his decision making had been that day and even if he had felt justified in leaving earlier, he'd realized well enough that it had been a mistake. Even if he couldn't have known the fate of the Dawn patrol, it didn't take away a sense of responsibility for making the whole situation worse.
With his own feelings a whirlpool of emotions, He could only repeat his apology as he received a proper scolding from his mother, only briefly glancing upward to the fury and disappointment on her face. If he could do the day again, he'd have absolutely stayed in camp, it wasn't even as if he could argue the point on a basis of gaining anything from it. Hunting had gone poorly, and he'd managed to get lost in a bunch of plants. That shame was enough to cripple the apprentice as it was. "I shouldn't have left, I'm sorry..." he murmured meekly, relieved when the anger had subsided to the affection he was more used to from the ginger she-cat. Featherpaw♀ Location; Galeclan Camp With Wisteriaflower
daydreams Featherpaw felt her own level of guilt for sure, but she couldn't help feeling a bit more distracted in concern for the dark colored apprentice, after all, he didn't have someone to stick up for hims during all this and hoped he wouldn't be treated unfairly as a result. Even so, she couldn't ignore her mother's distress, the anger towards the two of them more than understandable given the situation. "I just thought maybe he wouldn't be too far away... I didn't want something to happen while everyone was still looking around camp..." Even as she said those words, she knew she was barkign at the moon, "I... guess I was being too hasty, though... we still ended up way out at the Heather beds.." she admitted in frustrated defeat.
"I'm sorry, though... I just got scared... He was gone and I couldn't find Amberleaf and..." the small she-cat stiffened as she fought off a distressed sniffle unsuccessfully, her words trailing off with that failure as her ears flattened taut against her head. Up until now she'd tried to keep some level of self-control but it was evident that what her hasty actions hadn't crushed was now being taken care of by her own emotions under justified scrutiny. She fell into relative silence as her mother turned her attention to Firepaw, grateful for a moment to try and get her composure back in check. Unsurprisingly, the distraught Medicine Cat's apprentice all to eager pressed against the comfort of her mother's fur, burying her face shamefully but gratefully. Amberleaf♂ It was with relief that Amberleaf regarded the return of the apprentices, both for his own concerns for his apprentice as well as for the sake of the two gingers' mother. He could only watch in silent bemusement as Wisteriaflower bounded away to the youths, glad that they'd returned so soon after the distraught mother had noticed their absence. It wasn't even laziness driving his desire in that manner, honestly just not wanting to employ calming agents that might have put the poor she-cat to sleep before she could see for herself they'd been found safely. The best medicine in this case really was just seeing the young cats home safely. However, his attention was drawn to Birchheart's explanation, the amber eyes of the Medicine Cat focusing on Greystar with unspoken curiosity as his own apprentice's fate was now being placed at the Leader's paws.
He had no reason to doubt Greystar's ultimate decision, though he hoped he would take Amberleaf himself into consideration when punishing the pale ginger apprentice... or at least discuss with him before dishing out anything too severe. Even so, he understood that the leader's choices were under heavy scrutiny today after the choice to withhold an attack on Mossclan, thus he hardly felt like stirring the kettle in that regard. However, he could hardly help but feel sympathy for the apprentices, their misery rather evident in their behavior, and perhaps it was a twinge of guilt for his own absence that further built such feelings.
It might have been this sympathy that led Amberleaf to walk towards the small grey and black form of Crowpaw where he would sit beside the cat. Leaning down, he whispered only loud enough for the apprentice to hear, "You may receive few thanks for your action and far many punishments besides, but you have my thanks for not letting Featherpaw go off on her own." He paused with a soft bemused smile, "Though I wouldn't make a habit of it, young one."

Little meow meow Hawkeyes258Crowpaw started a bit as the medicine cat Amberleaf approached him. He relaxed a bit when his words were gentler than he expected. “I… I just did what I thought anyone else would do, but you’re right, I didn’t want her to go alone.” he thought back to the beginning of all this, back to when he hesitated to leave the camp just outside the camp’s entrance. Thinking on it now, he didn’t regret it if it meant keeping his clan mates safe.

Greystar narrowed his eyes at the news and turns his gaze to the apprentices to who him offered useless excuses. If this had been any other time, he would just allow the mentors to dish out their punishments. However, there was a potential murderer or a small group of them lurking somewhere. "Using excuses will get you nowhere! You should have been in mourning with your clanmates not running off cause you want a silly adventure!" He takes a moment to let his words sink in. He wanted these cats to really understand how much trouble they were in. (Little cliffhanger lol. I shall post their punishments when I get back from work )

Swiftpaw(in GaleClan territory, with Snaketounge)
Swiftpaw padded after her mentor, she was glad to be out of camp and of the chance to get her mind off the Clan's current situation. The fresh scents of the moor flooded her nose and she felt the gentle breeze of her pelt, there's nothing better than being a GaleClan cat, she thought. Swiftpaw pricked her ears at her mentor's instruction. 'Ok, great!' Swiftpaw replied excitedly, she couldn't wait to test her knowledge of the territory and she had always loved to run. Drawing ahead of her mentor, Swiftpaw began to run, making sure to pace herself as her mentor had instructed. She relished the feeling of the wind blowing on her fur, and almost forgot for a moment the task at hand. Realizing her mistake, she quickly righted her self and began to run in the right direction.
Gorseleap(in camp, with Palewhisker)
Gorseleap could sense Palewhisker's disdain for Shadowstep in her voice, and even though she disliked the black warrior as well, and didn't think him trustworthy, she was hesitant to stir up trouble. 'I wouldn't want to spread unnecessary rumors' Gorseleap replied, lowering her voice she meowed'but I find him strange as well, perhaps it wouldn't hurt to ask him about it.' Besides, she thought, if Shadowstep had done something, then it was better to ask him and get what little information he would give, then wait until he did something else.

(( Gonna give Dawnrise and Daydreams a chance to get a post out before I respond, but I'm looking forward to Greystar's choices, though, hehe! Good luck at work! )) Shadowstep♂ By now, Shadowstep had settled into his usual place of sleep in the furthest back area of the den, perhaps unaware of how very much like his son he was in regards to sleeping placements. Granted for Toadpaw it was not wanting to be bothered for the sake of laziness whereas Shadowstep it was simply most comfortable to remain as physically distant as he was emotionally so. No, that was simply an excuse he'd tell himself, in reality it was about as far from where he and Rainstorm once slept alongside one another that he could get. Sometimes he swore he could still catch the faintest traces of her scent when he passed that spot, but he knew that to simply be a figment of his imagination.
Perhaps this was a poor time to be thinking about the she-cat, though in the face of tragedy and the clear signs of aggression towards him that it was only natural to remember what had brought him to Galeclan in the first place. The real source of his loyalty, rather than the insistence he'd shown in the face of Bristlethorn's curiosity, had always been Rainstorm and sometimes he almost dared think Toadpaw was all that kept him here, although that was only in regards to why he was tolerated. If it weren't for the apprentice, he hardly believed he would be allowed to remain. Granted, it wasn't as if Shadowstep had anything to return to otherwise regardless. A sigh of frustration escaped the tom as he found that even exhausted as he was, he was struggling to find the peace to sleep, and soon just plopped his paws over his face in silent defeat, hoping that sheer stubbornness might lead him to sleep.

Palewhisker -- Entering the Warrior's Den -- With Gorseleap, 🐦silvermoon2🐦 ; and Shadowstep, Little meow meow
Palewhisker nodded. It would be better to have a second cat with her, she decided, even though the light brown she-cat didn't seem as convinced as she herself was. She flicked her tail, motioning for Gorseleap to follow. She was all too aware that the bodies of her clanmates were still in the middle of camp, awaiting a proper vigil. But plenty of cats had already gathered to pay their respects, and Palewhisker didn't want to waste any time questioning Shadowstep. If he truly was involved in some way, even if it was something minor... he was dangerous. She couldn't imagine curling up in the Warrior's den to sleep knowing he could be plotting another horrible act. Her whiskers trembled with trepidation as she neared the den. With a deep breath to steel her nerves, she jumped up into the crevice that led to the warrior's den and pushed inside. Her eyes quickly adjusted to the dark, and she made out the even darker pelt of Shadowstep in the corner. She couldn't tell from her backlit angle if the tom was sleeping or watching them, and suddenly felt a small amount of anxiety over whether confronting him was the best idea. But why did he not even explain himself when he entered camp? Where had he been? Why was he not sitting vigil for her fellow clanmates right now? She shook her head, righteous indignation rising in her chest. If the tom was trouble, it was her job as a protector of her clan to be prepared for it. Greystar had enough to worry about at the moment without her bringing unproven fears to him. She cleared her voice, and called out, with an embarrassing crack in her voice, "Shadowstep." It still managed to come out with a slight bit of authority though, and for that, she was pretty pleased.
Thorneyes -- To one side of Galeclan Camp -- Alone
Thorneyes watched as the apprentices, safely recovered, were herded towards Greystar's den and sighed. I wouldn't want to be those apprentices right now, he thought, ...or Greystar, for that matter. His heart felt heavy when thinking of his leader. Greystar not only had to take in the emotional blow of the death of his deputy and fellow clanmates, but he also had to push those same emotions to the side and guide his clan to a not only safe, but peaceful resolution. Haretooth had been too harsh on their leader, in his opinion. Thorneyes couldn't imagine what the weight of that responsibility felt like. He couldn't see why anyone, including his sister, would ever want the position of leader. The nine lives sounded tempting, sure, but the burdens of the entire clan was laid upon your shoulders the same day Starclan accepted you... and that type of life, however long, seemed far too cumbersome. Thorneyes turned his attention back to his fallen clanmates and bowed his head, burying his nose in their fur briefly. He closed his eyes, trying to imagine the three on their way to Starclan, as Amberleaf had said. He whispered a few words under his breath to each, then backed away to the side of the camp, to where the fallen and the High Rock were still in view, but where he wouldn't get in the way of the mourners. He wasn't one for sitting vigil, typically, and would love to busy his paws by going out for a hunt. But with the current restrictions on camp and the fate of their apprentices, he didn't dare. Instead, he watched his fellow clanmates with sad eyes, mourning silently their situation.
Haretooth -- Exiting the Elder's Den -- Alone
Haretooth, feeling the final hair that had been ruffled on her pelt earlier relax, decided to exit the elder's den once more. She took a few quick glances around to ensure she didn't cross Greystar's path. The embarrassment and anger of her outburst still felt too fresh, but she was determined to not let that stop her from honoring the clanmates she had known for so long. She crossed the camp. Once at the side of the deceased, she settled next to them, feeling an uncomfortable twinge in a foreleg as she attempted to fold her paws underneath her. "Starclan light your path, dear ones. May you find eternal peace and endless hunting among our ancestors..." She closed her eyes, overcome by emotion. "You will be missed."
(Leaving my two open if anyone is around and wants, if not, that's all cool too. Also I know there will probably need to be like vigil, punishing of apprentices, and possibly a clan meeting to choose a new deputy soon that our characters will need to attend, but I can't help but make my characters pick fights with people, apparently We can always let any confrontation Palewhisker begins be cut short by a call from the clan leader, I don't want to box our characters in.)

Greystar turns his gaze to each of the apprentices as thinks about his next words. "Along with the silent vigil, you will assist with helping burying them. Second part is for one moon you three will be providing fresh bedding for the elders, queens and warriors. There will be at least one warrior observing and escorting you outside of camp." He turns his attention to Amberleaf. "Amberleaf since Featherpaw is your apprentice, I'm more than willing to be a little lenient if you need her for training or gathering herbs. Oh and you three will not be attending the gathering. Have I made myself clear or do any of you want to plead your case?" He silently hoped they would attempt to argue with him.
In his mind, they were getting off easy. He could have easily forced them to stay in camp, go on a dawn patrol every morning or sit vigil every night.

"No Greystar..." Crowpaw mewed. He hadn't quite realized he had gotten off easier than he thought. He would have thought that Greystar would punish him harshly in particular. Perhaps GaleClan's leader didn't share the same views on outsiders as the rest of the clan. He couldn't speak for the other two apprentices, but he meant what he had told Amberleaf. He had no regret that he had help Featherpaw find her brother, even more so if there was possibly a killer loose in the clan territories. But if he was to show the rest of the clan he was as loyal and useful as any clanborn cat, he going to have to do as he's told. The dark gray and black tom kept his head down and his amber gaze low, waiting for either one of the apprentices to speak up or Greystar to dismiss them.

Shadowstep♂ Shadowstep groaned inwardly as he heard his name called, almost considering not even responding before his sense forced such thoughts away. Tired as he was, he was not his son and wouldn't simply buckle under personal weakness and perhaps he felt a sense of curiosity to why a pair of she-cat's would come searching for him amongst the chaos. However, he had a feeling it wasn't a hard guess what they wanted, they'd successfully cornered him alone in the Warrior's den after all. Slowly removing his paws from his face, the black warrior rose his head in silence at first, green eyes betraying little to nothing as he stared with a gaze of scrutiny at Palewhisker and Gorseleap, though he made no further effort to rise to his paws.
"Palewhisker, Gorseleap. I suppose you want something from me? What other reason would you seek me out amongst the mourning of your fellow clanmates..." he stated simply enough, no direct hostility despite the sharpness of his words, as if not surprised to seem them approaching him. It was more he wasn't surprised someone approached him, anyone could have to the same effect, it was just unsurprising that it would be someone like Palewhisker. After all, she hadn't seemed to try hard to disguise her distrust, if she tried at all for that matter. Gorseleap was a little more surprising given what a young warrior she was in the first place, but he simply chalked that up to being easily led about. After all, she was hardly the imposing warrior that older cats were, and being a hunter rather than a fighter hardly made the young warrior's thin frame in any sense menacing. Honestly, he hardly seemed to bear a significant respect even for the other fighter, though his intention was hardly to cause undue division. (( Oh please, I'm thrilled to have cats picking fights with Shadowstep, why else would I have him actively absent during the MURDERS~ Ya know, other than not fully planning ahead and randomly deciding to start plot related drama LOL
Also, again, gonna try to give Dawnrise and daydreams a little time to respond to greystar before I respond. Sometime the afternoon/early evening perhaps Don't want anyone feeling left out or falling behind the story!))

(Thankyou bluewonder, I will!) Gorseleap( with Palewhisker, in camp) bluewonder Even though she was hesitant to potentially stir up trouble, Gorsleap went with Palewhisker to confront Shadowstep. He could be dangerous, she reasoned, and even if he wasn't, it was better to be safe then sorry, she thought. It wouldn't do any harm to question him a bit, would it? As they headed toward the warriors den, nervousness began to build up inside Gorseleap, what if he did have bad intentions, and suspected herself and Palewhisker to know something about them, what would he do to them, would they meet the same fate as her fallen clanmates? Gorseleap forcefully pushed away her unwelcome thoughts and steeled herself as they walked into the warriors den. Her eyes quickly adjusted to the darkness of the warriors den and made out Shadowstep's dark pelt in a corner, whether he was sleeping, or awake, she couldn't tell. She tried to stamp down her nerves and Palewhisker called his name.

(So I just caught up on the actual NOVEL of content that you guys wrote while I was away I did skim read but as far as I can tell, the apprentices ran away, got caught, got off easy (would have really liked to see them be more miserable) and theres some sort of drama with Shadowstep in that he was suspiciously absent during the murders? Also, if anyone wants to update me on their characters current drama please do! I'd love to be more caught up on the microdramas happening in camp! Thank you <3 ) Reedwing (with Greystar and apprentices: camp) Reedwing padded quietly up to the gathering of cats near Greystar's den. After sending off Birchheart and Kestraltalon in search of the apprentices, she'd tried to remain calm in the face of everything that was happening. It seemed to her that the clan was tearing apart in the face of the tragedy, and she was no more sure of anything than the apprentices. Birchheart's kind words had managed to calm her down though, and after sitting quietly for a while she had collected her resolve enough to face her duty as deputy once more. Now reaching her leader, she gave the apprentices an icy glare. 'It seems you've been let off easy,' she mewed evenly, no empathy but also no anger in her voice as she took in the sorry sight of the young cats. 'And now' the deputy continued, 'It would be in your best interest to do exactly as you've been instructed from now on until you've regained all of our trust.'

(Hi Blu! Don't know where you got to, so I'll just start: A dawn patrol was found dead earlier, smelling of Mossclan, and maybe something more, but most cats are noticing the Mossclan scent. Three cats, including one of the deputies, was dead. Shadowstep was on said patrol, and is the only cat still living, so Palewhisker and Gorseleap have gone to confront him. Meanwhile, the camp is still in mourning and preparing for vigil for the fallen cats. Greystar announced they will not retaliate until they get facts straight at the upcoming gathering, which I think is very soon. A few cats seem worried about delaying retaliation, others seem to agree. Also meanwhile, Firepaw got lost in the heather beds, causing Featherpaw and Crowpaw to go out looking for him. Which in turn caused Kestreltalon and Birchheart to go look for them. All cats were found, and returned to camp. Greystar just deemed a punishment on the apprentices. Vigil is still in the process of being held, and no replacement deputy has been elected yet. OH and my characters microdramas- Palewhisker is a stickler tryhard that is trying to out Shadowstep bc she legitimately doesn't trust him so she's in the warriors den now Thorneyes has been moping around camp sadly, being not sure what to do with his usually bubbly personality and more than anything just waiting for the plot to progress while maybe having a chat or two so he's chilling alone at the edge of camp, And Haretooth is being a grumpy elder who had a public disagreement with their leader, feels bad about it, but also is just overall mourning and having trouble expressing that, so she's sitting vigil next to the fallen warriors )

(( Lets see, you were here for the patrol being brought back so.... Reedwing and Birchheart were interrupted by Kestreltalon after he was told by Featherpaw that Firepaw was missing, unaware that Featherpaw and Crowpaw had left to find Firepaw shortly beforehand. So, Kestreltalon and Birchheart left to find them.
While they were gone, Amberleaf returned to camp and Greystar addressed the clan, commanding no action from his clanmates until after the gathering where he would bring up the patrol to Stormstar. Haretooth was pretty angry about the response but relented.
Palewhisker has suspicions against Shadowstep which she has somewhat shared with Gorseleap and now the two of them are entering the warrior's den to confront shadowstep. Shadowstep having been the only cat other than the patrol's runner, Thistleheart, to survive.
Kestreltalon and Birchheart have returned with the apprentices, unharmed, and Greystar has just dolled out punishments.
For the most part everyone is sharing tongues and biddign their farewells to their clanmates which include the second deputy, Robinflame, and two warriors Snowtooth and Brindlestream.
I also believe Snaketongue has taken Swiftpaw out for some runner training. ))

(thank you guys so much! I think I'll get Reedwing to come around and talk to a few cats in a bit - to console them and assert herself as deputy. But that'll probably have to be tomorrow because it is 1am lol)

(Yeah sorry that was anti climatic. It's been a long time since I've read warriors and couldn't remember the type of punishments apprentices were given. Should I have gone with being stuck in camp for a month?)

Firepaw♂ Location; Galeclan Camp They were absolutely getting off easy, so much so even Firepaw was both suprised and almost unsettled by it, though perhaps that was the guilt and feelings that he deserved something horrible for his misdeeds. He'd always been harder on himself than anyone else. Not that he wanted punishment, but he surely believed he deserved more and far worse at that. Being given something to actually do for the coming moon was better than loitering about camp aimlessly, even if it wasn't particularly the most exciting tasks in the world.
Maybe with a warrior observing them he could also press for more consistent training too. He'd certainly expected something more akin to having his training extended or something like that but he sure wasn't about to complain. Even so, he felt guilty for such selfish thoughts, silently flattening his ears as he scolded himself internally. Not only was he wasting the talents of a warrior on kit-sitting, but he was also acting as if it were better for him in the long term. "I.. Yes, Greystar..." he murmured softly as he snapped out of his silent moping, though continuing to avoid eye contact with the others. "Understood, Reedwing." He added as the Deputy chimed in, aware she would probably be the one carrying out Greystar's order and whoever was sent to watch them would probably be her choice. Amberleaf♂ Location; Galeclan Camp The Medicine cat listened in with keen interest, his expression unreadable as he considered Greystar's ultimate verdict. It was certainly lighter than expected but Amberleaf didn't particularly think it was a bad thing, after all, it was that much more impressive Greystar had remained so level-headed among the chaos as to treat the apprentices fairly. In the end, their misdemeanors would have been very light with the current tragedy aside and he appreciated that it seemed that, despite the leader's frustrations, he had kept his head on the matter.
"Worry not for leniency, Greystar. Infact..." he paused, looking to Featherpaw for a moment in thought before returning his amber gaze to Greystar, "If you would indulge me. I would have Featherpaw join the other apprentices in the apprentice's den for the duration of their sentences. As a Medicine cat, one must put the clan above the needs of one and especially above personal needs... I would remind my apprentice of this." His tone was without anger, remarkably calm and even despite what he was requesting of the leader.
He was not abandoning Featherpaw as Medicine Cat's apprentice by any means, but he wanted her to truly understand that what she did was especially inappropriate for a Medicine cat and if she wanted to do and act as warrior, maybe she should live like the apprentices of one. Among the apprentices, he felt compelled to believe her behavior was the most unacceptable. It may have meant less free time for himself, but he was ever dutiful to a clan even above his own quality of life. Featherpaw♀ Location; Galeclan Camp Featherpaw seemed to relax drastically under the resulting punishment. Surely she felt guilty for her actions, but she was far more concerned what would happen to Crowpaw. She'd almost worried she'd have to string together some remnants of courage to defend Crowpaw, but she could hardly argue about the fairness. Maybe it wasn't the most enjoyable thing to have to do but, then again Featherpaw was perhaps biased due to her tasks as a Medicine cat's apprentice.
Her relief was short-lived, however, as Amberleaf said his piece, the pale ginger pulled her face from her mother, eyes widening shock. "B-But..!" she exclaimed, though she couldn't find any words to follow that statement as she caught the unmoving nature of the Medicine Cat's expression.
