Reedwing (with Haretooth, camp) bluewonder Reedwing could feel the elder relax slightly as she groomed her, and she suddenly felt a pang of sympathy for the fiery cat as she realised that Haretooth's challenge of Greystar's orders had come from a place of fear rather than malice. They were all hurting, but it was her place as deputy to listen to the clan's worries and help assure them of their leadership. 'Greystar is a strong leader,' Reedwing assured the elder, 'and there are many strong and capable warriors left in the clan.' Her eyes drifted sadly to the dead cats infront of her, resting on the body of their deputy, Robinflame. 'And you've done so much for the clan already Haretooth, it is our turn to take care of you.'The elder gave her a lick on the head and Reedwing closed her eyes in appreciation. It had been a hard day for her as well, and she relished the closeness. With Haretooth's questions about the gathering she opened her eyes again. 'If anything happens at the gathering, Mossclan will be the one to suffer this time, of that I assure you.' she mewed flatly, unable to deny that she sought revenge as much, if not more, than the older she-cat did.

(My computer is shutting down randomly lately bc it's old and finicky like Haretooth, so I have to kinda reply one character at a time. Finally getting to Palewhisker's! Also just realized I was talking about trees with Thorneyes, and wasn't really thinking of moorlands in that moment, sorry. I'll try to keep territory in mind more! I suppose there are still trees around here and there though! Also love the finger guns lol) Palewhisker -- Warrior's Den -- With Shadowstep, Little meow meow ; and Gorseleap, 🐦silvermoon2🐦
Palewhisker lashed her tail. I don't have an inflated ego or the temper of a kit! She yowled internally. Speak for yourself, you mangy crowfood eating- And yet, she knew that she couldn't take this conversation any further. In truth, she had no tangible evidence against Shadowstep. She only had her own constructed narrative and the uncommon origin story of how Shadowstep came to be a Galeclan cat to go by. It was obvious now though that she wouldn't be able to get the tom to admit his crime- she never really expected to, but she was hoping that he would give more away than this, if perhaps by accident. No, if she was going to bring him to justice, she would have to uncover more on him. Now wasn't the time, clearly. But time was not on their side, in Palewhisker's opinion, and she feared with each passing day the tom would plot more and more evil against her beloved clan. She let out a frustrated hiss, realizing all she could do was watch him like a hawk, and wait for him to slip up. "Watch your back, Shadowstep. Your actions will be brought to light, I personally will make sure of it." She hissed at him, before whirling around to begin to exit the warrior's den. She motioned with a jerk of her head for Gorseleap to follow. She realized that she hadn't given the she-cat time to get a word in edgewise, but her dislike for Shadowstep had gotten the best of her. Besides, she didn't want the kind young warrior to give him any benefit of the doubt.

Padding alongside the gray tom as they walked, Kestreltalon twitched his whiskers slightly, working up his courage. "A lot has happened without your oversight today and I just wanted to make sure you were satisfied. I took some liberties by scolding the apprentices like that, punishing them without asking you," he said, his tone calculated and controlled. "I just want you to know that I respect your authority in these matters, I don't mean to undermine you in any way." Flicking his tail with nervous apprehension, Kestreltalon stared back into Greystar's eyes with a calm, cool deference, making sure not to give away his true unease.

Crowpaw - GaleClan Camp with Featherpaw - Little meow meow“Well we both know that it will be a long time before Greystar allows me to go to any gatherings, punishment or not,” Crowpaw told her, unable to fully mask how much it bothered him, “But I don’t think he’ll take the entire clan with him. If he wants GaleClan safe, he’ll leave some warriors behind.”He wanted to comfort his friend more, but as soon as he opened his mouth, noises from the warriors’ den cut him off. He turned his head in time to see Palewhisker stalk out of the den hissing and spitting like a fox in a fit. “Is… Is she always that angry?” Crowpaw whispered, hopefully his voice low enough that the fighter couldn’t hear and put her even further in a mood. (Giving Palewhisker a chance to scream at more people haha bluewonder)

Shadowstep • Tom • FighterLocation: Warrior's Den with Gorseleap🐦silvermoon2🐦 Perhaps credit could be given to Palewhisker for at least trying, though she was hardly prepared to match up against the black tom in this regard, having come in virtually declawed against the tight-lipped warrior. It was skewed further in his favor, perhaps, that he had a history of investigating murders himself. After all, it hadn't been another to bring Ravenwing and Rainstorm's murderers to justice, it had been him. Not that he was above error or slip ups, but he was certainly more experience in remaining resolute, and even getting under the fur of those that might have sought evidence against him. Maybe that was the morbid amusement that had reached the fighter, this knowledge that the tables had turned and now he was under personal investigation, much like he'd once done. Nevertheless, he had not the time to reply to the she cat, before she'd escaped the den in a fury, his eyes shifting to Gorseleap who'd remained far less aggressive so far as he was aware.
"Gorseleap, you need not obey me, but I would request you offer Palewhisker a paw in one regard." He began, his tone once more calm as he regarded the other cat, "Before our clanmates are buried, have her check beneath their claws for traces of fur if Amberleaf has not yet seen to that -- though I would not tell her that advice is from me. Or you can, I don't care if she listens. I have no need to know what it is found so don't bother returning with what's found if anything." With the words stated, he turned his back to both the cat and the den entrance and curled back into the position he'd been in before the intrusion. He knew that if he'd tried to investigate, he would only further Palewhisker's suspicions and if she were so determined to find out the truth... well, he was more than happy to let her. He only hoped her pig-headedness wouldn't make her unwilling to see what lay before her.
Birchheart • Tom • FighterLocation: Galeclan Camp with Thorneyesbluewonder A soft snort of amusement escaped the tom in response to the younger tom's comment, comforted by the humor that still gripped him at such idle talk. With the gloom hanging over a camp, there was something morbidly comical in a sense to be speaking of the normal news, but in a way he didn't mind. It helped to ease the stress and pain they were all feeling in varying degrees, "We are just on the cusp of Newleaf, a comforting thought to be honest." Birchheart doubted it'd be much past the Gathering before Newleaf had finally chased away leafbare, though he hoped the new they'd receive at the Gathering wouldn't spoil the turn of the season. It was hard not to regard the future with anxiety even when talkin about the most simple of topics.
"Impressive. Hunting was never my strongest suit, too much.. well, me, getting in the way. I doubt I'd have made it up a tree at all with success to bring back." he chuckled, not afraid to poke fun at his own expense, after all, there were reasons he was assigned to be a Fighter and not a Hunter. Every cat had their own talents after all, and even with his own disdain for violence, he was simply built for it. Although, he'd hardly been able to make use of it to protect his brothers, a sobering thought to be sure. He was taken off guard by the sight of Palewhisker storming from the Warrior's den, his green eyes widening in shock, briefly. "What's that all about, I wonder."
Featherpaw • She-cat • Medicine Cat's ApprenticeLocation: Camp Clearing with CrowpawJunospower Featherpaw looked unconvinced by Crowpaw's words, shrugging her shoulders in equal skepticism, "I don't know about that, Greystar tends to be pretty fair, though I suppose I don't know what goes on in his head any more than anyone else." she replied with an attempt at comfort, though she couldn't say she knew everything for sure. Galeclan was very hard on outsiders, and she hadly had any experience in what that truly felt like. After all, she'd always been in Galeclan, born and raised. However, her gaze shot towards the Warrior's den along with Crowpaw's where Palewhisker seemed rather displeased as she stormed out, Featherpaw unable to hide how the shock rose the fur along her spine. "Aah... Maybe not that angry..." she murmured as she forced her fur to lay flat once more. Whoever was in the Warrior's den really had to have made her angry....

(I will take that chance, please and thank you lolol I promise Palewhisker wasn't made to be mean, she's just... a bigot, I guess haha) Thorneyes -- Middle of Galeclan Camp -- With Palewhisker ; Birchheart, Little meow meow ; and Crowpaw Junospower
Thorneyes let out a small mrrow of laughter as the large tom poked fun at himself. He was relieved to see that Birchheart had taken his offer of smalltalk without offense, and more than thankful to have an excuse to laugh again, even over such simple things. The simple conversation worked to thaw his emotions, and he felt himself relaxing even more. Maybe the newleaf will bring new beginnings. Maybe this is somehow all just a misunderstanding... He couldn't help but return to his look-on-the-bright-side nature. It was becoming clearer to him that Greystar may have a point, delaying action until the gathering. Hearing Birchheart's final words, however, Thorneyes shot his head up, alert once more, and noticed his sister as she stormed out of the warrior's den. What in the name of Starclan? He thought, eyes widening. He had rarely seen his sister this angry... maybe that one time when he dared her to leap from rock to rock at the Sunningstones when they were just barely apprentices, resulting in her falling into the water and having to be rescued by the previous Galeclan leader... Or that time he and another apprentice hid a beetle in her bed... But not like this. Those were childhood squabbles. The look on her face now told him something was deeply bothering her. "I-I don't know what's going on..." He admitted to Birchheart.
Palewhisker -- Exiting the Warrior's Den -- With Crowpaw, Junospower ; and Featherpaw, Little meow meow
Palewhisker's ears swiveled unconsciously toward Crowpaw, catching that he said something but not hearing what. She also caught the turn of his head from the corner of her eye, and realized he had turned to look at her. What is he looking at? She growled to herself. She didn't care for the young apprentice much either. Though she didn't think him capable of plotting a murder due to his age and more friendly temperament than the quieter Shadowstep, she still didn't trust him, and in her opinion, didn't believe he should have been welcomed into the clan. But her blind adoration for Greystar kept her from ever questioning the apprentice. She quickly took in the fact that Crowpaw was seemingly keeping vigil for her clanmates, which, having not heard Greystar's punishment, she found somewhat honorable. However, seeing what was obvious gossip pass between the former rogue and medicine cat apprentice, she felt her pelt prickle in indignation. For a cat that measured her self-worth on the opinion of her clanmates, having any gossip against her felt like a personal affront. In that moment, it felt as though Crowpaw were spreading rumors about her to true clanborn cats, and her words got the best of her once more. "Got something to say, rogue-born?" She spat as she continued her stride out of the warrior's den and past the apprentices. She flinched inwardly instantly, regretting the words as they came out. Not because they weren't true, persay, but because so many cats were around to hear her say it. She didn't want to be labeled as a troublemaker- not only would that hurt her chances of one day becoming a deputy, but it would also hurt her case against Shadowstep when she was ready to bring evidence to Greystar.(Palewhisker is too much for me right now, I can't )

Birchheart • Tom • FighterLocation: Galeclan Camp with Thorneyesbluewonder Concern rested heavy on Birchheart's face as he watched the altercation unfold before them, shooting a startled glance at Thorneyes, though he could see the tom was just as startled by his sister's uncharacteristic fury. Palewhisker could be a bit... intense at times, sure, but the large ginger tom was hardly used to her being so quick to snap at others openly, let alone an apprentice who seemed simply as bewildered as anyone else might be. However, he soon shook off his shock, gently nudging Thorneyes as if to pull him out of the moment as well before speaking, "I'm sure she's just as stressed as everyone else." His tone was fairly comforting, or at least that was his intent, and he was content enough to assume it wouldn't be a reoccuring thing. After all, everyone was on edge, a thought that only worsened Birchheart's own worries.
The gathering really couldn't come soon enough, and even then he wasn't sure the results would be enough to calm the lingering fury... And as much as he wanted to lock away his own feelings on the matter, he knew his own patience was more than likely to be tested in the coming days. Clearing his throat, he uttered a fairly audible, "A reminder some of us are mourning, let's keep things calm, shall we?" out loud in an even tone without specifically going out of his way to direct it at anyone, his words perhaps holding more weight due to circumstances.
Featherpaw • She-cat • Medicine Cat's ApprenticeLocation: Camp Clearing with Crowpaw & Palewhiskerbluewonder Junospower Hearing Palewhisker's open hostility towards the other apprentice, Featherpaw was taken a back initially, growing ridgid but not before anger flashed in her eyes. She knew Palewhisker was referring to Crowpaw, but that was exactly why she felt so insulted, fur along her spine bristling indignantly. She'd barely gotten to know the apprentice herself until today, in which she'd promptly run him into trouble, but she found Crowpaw no less deserving to be here than Palewhisker. "If he doesn't, I sure do." the Medicine Cat's apprentice retorted in a hiss with a lash of her tail behind her, glaring after the warrior.
She could hardly afford to get in more trouble after her little stint with wandering off to find Firepaw, but she equally felt unable to just watch as a friend was berated for circumstances outside his control. Of course, she couldn't have known Palewhisker's thoughts, feelings, or the situation she'd just walked out of, or even if the situation was one of Palewhisker's own making, but impulsiveness was tragically on brand for the Medicine Cat's apprentice. However, she froze upon hearing Birchheart's words, settling back down apologetically, though her gaze remained annoyed and fixated on the she-cat.

(Palewhisker's perfect Blue! This is good for her character arc! Always down for the drama LMM <3) Crowpaw - GaleClan Camp with Featherpaw and Palewhisker - Little meow meow bluewonderCrowpaw's fur bristled with an unfamiliar feeling of anger, ears laying flat against his head and eyes narrow. He sat up to stand near Featherpaw and glared with the medicine cat apprentice, almost daring Palewhisker to say that to him again. "Rouge-born or not, I'm just as loyal as any clan-born," his voice was steady and calm, yet he didn't bother to hide the anger laced within.

Greystar blinks a few times before letting a small chuckle. He expected concerns about the Mossclan problem not about him giving some apprentices a talking too. "No need for the apologizes. If any kit or apprentice breaks the rule, I would hope every warrior would give them a scolding and possibly some form of punishments. " Long as it wasn't cruel or unusual punishment.

{if anyone has any open characters, i have coyoteflame, sycamoreheart, honeysucklepaw, newtpetal. i'm going to throw out some random posts for some of them soon, simply because some of them haven't even been touched yet.} ✸✸❣✸✸
The ginger and white molly followed her son silently as he lead her towards the ledge by the warriors' den. Many of the warriors would be out waiting to sit vigil, or simply uninterested in a conversation between a mother and her son. Her mind was whirling with all the possibilities that Firepaw could throw at her, but she made sure to keep it locked down in her son's presence. His message seemed important to him and Wisteriaflower wanted to keep an open mind to whatever it was that he wanted to speak with her about. Once her son had settled in his place, she sat down across from him, close enough that she could hear him if he were to whisper. Her tail curled around her paws, but the tip flicked anxiously.
At the mention of an unknown cat approaching Firepaw, the mother's eyes enlarged, but she said nothing as she waited for him to finish. Her breathing became frantic once more, but she swallowed her fear and nodded slowly along to his words. "Thank you, my lovely, for delivering this message to me." She hesitated a moment before she continued. "If you are ever to see this cat again, run the opposite way. It would be naïve to trust a strange cat not to harm a young one such as yourself." She licked her son's head comfortingly before pulling back. ✸✸❣✸✸
Angeloniapaw was never the type to know how to comfort others in times of distress. The tom himself barely knew how he was feeling when it came to whatever it was that had happened today. He mostly felt numb. He loved his clanmates dearly, and while he hadn't been particularly close to many of them, he still felt a sudden loss that came with their death. He watched Mothpaw lay her head on his paws, and his tail came around to rest over her shoulders in comfort. His warm amber gaze swept across the apprentices' den before settling on Toadpaw at the entrance. He had passed by his den mates as he made his way in. "They're about to sit vigil, though I doubt it will stay quiet for long." As if it were his words that sparked it, the grey and white apprentice heard loud voices from outside the den, though he tuned them out, He had his fair share of watching drama unfold today.
✸✸❣✸✸
{I hope you guys don't mind, but I knew Hylia into the middle of it as well. As an outsider, she's likely to sympathize with Crowpaw!}
The short, long-haired white and gray molly sat a ways away from the gathering group as they prepared to share tongues with the fallen. Though she was part of the clan, she often still felt like an outsider, especially when it came to beliefs. Hyliaecho did not believe in Starclan unlike her fellow clanmates, and so she felt like she had no right to sit vigil with the fallen ones. She would not join them, however she would pay her respects from afar, hoping that their souls would make it safely to whenever it was that they believed they were going.
The hunter's eyes snapped up at the commotion not to far from her, watching as Palewhisker walked past the two apprentices'. The fellow warrior's words pricked at Hyliaecho as though they were aimed at her as well. Getting to her feet, she approached the group and nudged her den mate roughly on the shoulder. "Be careful with your words, Palewhisker. They are just apprentices." The warrior snapped harshly as she walked towards Featherpaw and Crowpaw to stand over them protectively. "You wouldn't want others to think you dislike outsiders so much, now would you?"

Kestreltalon nodded his head and smiled, relieved to hear his leader's praise. "I'm glad to hear that. And I know this may not exactly be popular right now, but I respect, no, admire your decision to show discretion over the recent tragedy," he said, his thin face growing doleful and downcast, "Mossclan or not, we need answers before taking action." The ginger tom twitched his tail as they walked through camp towards the fresh kill pile. He may not have been all too sympathetic to cats outside their clan, but his duty to uphold his leader's word superseded his own feelings. It was hard to understand why other cats couldn't do the same.
"Either way, it is no business of a warrior to question the commands of their leader," he continued, "I'll be certain to quell any mutinous grumblings as best I can." Kestreltalon felt he might have overstepped a line here, but shook the thought from his mind. Greystar would understand what he meant, surely.

Firepaw • Tom • ApprenticeLocation: Ledge in Camp with Wisteriaflowerdaydreams With his own nerves on high alert, it was hard for Firepaw not to notice the signs of anxiety from his mother and whereas this only deepened the fear, it also brought a further twinge of curiosity to his mind. It was odd enough to hear the strange cat mention his mother by name and regard the apprentice himself with a familiarity that Firepaw could not place. After all, why would his mother know a cat outside the clan? Yet fear for the answer caused him to hesitate, nodding slowly in response to his mother's words. "I'll stay away from him."
With the message finally given and the truth about a part of his encounter he refused to share with the others now taken care of, relief began to seep warmly back into his limbs. With the that comfort came the coldness associated with it, his curiosity still playing at his mind. "... but mother... Do you know who he was?" he couldn't help but ask, though innocently unaware of the stress he might cause Wisteriaflower with his words. After all, he couldn't possibly have known.
Toadpaw • Tom • ApprenticeLocation: Apprentice's Den with Mothpaw & Angeloniapawblu daydreams The sudden voices from outside the den caused a low hiss of discomfort from the classic tabby, claws digging into the floor silently as he observed the clearing from the shadows of the Apprentice's den. "What a time to argue amongst themselves..." he grumbled with a certain annoyed coldness, mostly to himself, but ultimately confirming Angeloniapaw's words. Emotions were running high to say the least, and he certainly didn't enjoy the stressful nature that came with it, or the sense ill-ease that refused to leave. It felt light they were walking on eggshells, so to speak, where any little thing could set off another chaotic spin, though he'd been compelled to avoid it all that day among the warmth of his next. From here, he could occasionally make out the bodies every now and again as his clanmates walked about allowing the momentarily opening to see between them.
Although relieved, in a way, that his father wasn't among them, it didn't wholly calm his unsettled nerves. After all, it may have been several moons now, but he really hadn't come to terms with the death of his mother or Duskstripe even now. Offering silent, though perhaps cynical, prayers to starclan, he stood up and padded back towards the very back of his den. He felt stiff, but he'd take it over having to walk out there and deal with the tempers flaring. Curling back into his nest, his back was to both the other apprentice's and the exit, though there was no ill intention behind the action.
Thistleheart • Tom • RunnerLocation: Camp Clearing with Palewhisker, Hyliaecho, Thorneyes, Birchheart, Crowpaw & Featherpawbluewonder daydreams Junospower Having finished speaking with Sycamoreheart that morning, Thistleheart had disappeared into the Medicine Cat's den at the urging of his clanmates, though he was now exiting all patched up. He hardly felt his wounds worth such tending, but part of him had realized that didn't seem to be the larger majority of the concerns, almost feeling offended that his clanmates would suggest him emotionally incompetant amonst tragedy. He was certainly taking it hard, yes, it was his fault for not being fast enough -- so he told himself. Was his age catching up to him already? He hardly wanted to consider the early retirement many runner's faced already, though he'd long since entered the rank of Senior Warrior. With Snaketongue training the newest runner, however, he knew it was only a matter of time before he'd be encourage to retire, as the eldest of the runners himself. Despite the thoughts of his own mind weighing him down, he felt himself catching the tail end of the conversation in the clearing, glancing among those involved. "Outsiders cause nothing but trouble if you ask me." he shot out nonchalantly in response to Hyliaecho's words, caring little for the full context, "And yet we seem to find ourselves with more and more of them. Perhaps that is why starclan seeks to punish us with tragedy." he added sharply as he made his way towards the center of the clearing where he'd touch his nose against each of his fallen comrades in sorrowful goodbye.(( I'm here to push all of Hyliaecho's buttons, but hey, Palewhisker isn't alone now, I guess? )) (( Amberleaf, Shadowstep, and Toadpaw are essentially free -- I don't think any of them are engaged in anything that will have a response in regard to them. I assume Gorseleap will simply be leaving him be (Since he essentially dismissed by Shadowstep) and Toadpaw isn't exactly engaging Mothpaw and Angeloniapaw. I'll let Palewhisker respond to everyone before I post for featherpaw, feat. Birchheart further telling everyone to shut their whoremouths LOL ))

(I hope Reedwing's response isn't too overbearing! I thought she'd probably try and break things up, but if I'm taking too much liberty with her position then let me know and ill dial it down!)
Reedwing (with the arguing cats, camp) Distracted from her conversation with Haretooth by the growing unrest amongst the clan, Reedwing got to her paws with bristling fur.'That's enough!' she yowled, loud enough for the entire clearing to hear, 'From all of you!' She looked pointedly at Palewhisker and Thistleheart, having expected better from the senior warrior than to egg on the younger cat.
Silence descending among the arguing cats, Reedwing continued, 'Hasn't enough happened here today!' she spat out, pointing with her tail to the dead cats. 'Have you no respect for the warriors lying before you?' She felt a pang as she thought of Haretooth and Birchheart grieving for their family for the second time, and it crossed her mind that she would have to talk to the Tom later on.
'It is not our place to throw blame among ourselves. The will of Starclan is not ours to question! Our duty is to our clan and to Greystar, and if he feels these cats have proven their loyalty to Galeclan then we must accept them into our ranks with dignity!' she gave Thistleheart an especially pointed glare.
Trying to find a way to deescalate the situation, she decided it would be best for each of the cats to have space to cool down. 'Palewhisker, the clan must eat even in trying times. Find some cats to lead a hunting patrol and make sure you return before sundown.'
Turning to the apprentices and Hyliaecho, she gave them an equally stern stare, suggesting that she was not in the mood for any gloating or comments. 'And you Hyliaecho can see to it that these cats are given a resting place fit for their sacrifice. Take the two apprentices and anyone else you need to dig the graves.'

(Sorry, I somehow missed Reedwings response until just now!) Haretooth -- Middle of Galeclan Camp -- with Reedwing, blu ; and like... everyone else
"I hope at the very least Greystar has the sense to take a fighting patrol with him to the gathering." The old she-cat muttered in response to Reedwing. Greystar had plenty of sense and she respected him. She was just grumbling for the sake of grumbling, something she swore she would never do when she became an elder. At this point, even her old ears couldn't help but overhear the commotion behind her. With another grumble about young cats not respecting the dead, she pushed herself upwards to face them. "Would you all just be quiet?" She croaked out. "This is supposed to be a vigil! Or have you all gone mad?" She shook her head in disgust. She hadn't really caught what the argument was about, but she didn't think it much mattered anyway. What a dishonor to be laying in camp, dead, only to have cats squabbling around you.
Thorneyes -- Middle of Galeclan Camp -- with Palewhisker ; Birchheart, Little meow meow ; Hyliaecho, daydreams ; Crowpaw, Junospower ; and like... everyone else
Thorneyes barely felt Birchheart's gentle nudge or calming words, for in that moment, he had heard his sister's slur towards the young apprentice. "PALEWHISKER!" He shouted in shock. "What in Starclan's name is going on? Apologize to him!" He had heard his sister's disapproval over taking in non-clanborn cats before, but had never thought she would actually antagonize anyone for it. Without waiting for her reply, he turned to Crowpaw, Featherpaw, and Hyliaecho. "I'm so sorry about that, it's been a tough day for everyone." He apologized, attempting to cover for his sister's behavior.
Palewhisker -- Middle of Galeclan Camp -- with Crowpaw, Junospower ; Hyliaecho, daydreams ; Featherpaw, Little meow meow ; Thistleheart, Little meow meow ; and like... everyone else
Palewhisker shrunk down a bit under the rapid condemnation her words had brought her. Her pelt burned with embarrassment and frustration. She realized she shouldn't have said what she did, at least not out loud, but she didn't understand why so many cats seemed so offended. Especially her brother, who usually followed along with whatever her opinions were. She gave a quick glare of annoyance to Featherpaw's defiance, upset that a mere apprentice- and a medicine cat one at that- was fussing at her. She then ignored Crowpaw's response, and further ignored her brother's command to apologize. It wouldn't do to start up on her own beliefs- that he couldn't be loyal as a clan cat. Instead, she turned to the cats that she felt actually deserved her attention, the warriors. To Hyliaecho, she muttered, "I just think apprentices should know their place, especially if they want to prove they understand the warrior's code, that's all." Her words were half-hearted, as she was just ready to exit this scenario where several cats appeared to be against her. She then heard Thistleheart's reply and felt a small bit justified. She agreed with his words entirely- outsiders did nothing but weaken their clan with divided loyalties and weakness, worse yet if one had the disgraceful background such as Shadowstep of betraying their old clan. She hadn't yet wondered if Starclan could have allowed the tragedy because of their impure clan ranks, but it did seem to make sense to her. She gave a small nod of thanks to Thistleheart for being willing to speak up on her behalf, but besides that she slunk away from the accusing stares to her fallen clanmates's side, ready to sit vigil. She didn't care for the negative press she was getting, and instead wanted to busy herself with that which she knew was honorable- following the ages old tradition of remembering her fallen clanmates.
(The irony of course being that Haretooth herself had just squabbled next to the dead but when OTHER cats do it, it's disrespectful lolol)

Haretooth -- Middle of Galeclan Camp -- with Reedwing, blu ; and like... everyone else
Haretooth felt her whiskers twitch with approval as Reedwing took control of the situation. She gave a shake of her calico coat, as though she were shaking off the arguing cats, and settled again against the fallen. She pressed her nose into Robinflame, feeling the sharp emptiness of mourning. So many of her kits gone so quickly.
Palewhisker -- Middle of Galeclan Camp -- with Crowpaw, Junospower ; Hyliaecho, daydreams ; Featherpaw, Little meow meow ; Thistleheart, Little meow meow ; and like... everyone else
Palewhisker, hearing her deputies commanding mew, nodded quickly, her ears pinned even further to her head at the rebuke. "Of course, Reedwing." She said humbly, hoping she hadn't lost any of the deputy's favor. She looked around for a hunter to head the patrol, and her eyes fell on her brother. For the first time, she felt a strong rift between them. He was staring back at her with so much... disappointment. She skipped past him to find other cats to call. (Would maybe Coyoteflame, Magpiewish, Gorseleap, Bristlethorn, or anyone's apprentice be available for a hunting patrol, all? I'm trying to find cats that Palewhisker wouldn't have offended lol)

(No worries on the reply front! I have so many cats I can barely keep track of them at the moment haha)
(You could take Nettlefang with you! He's a fighter but the patrol will prbs need some protection, and he's likely on Palewhisker's side in all this. If you want just call him over and I'll start my rp with him then xx)
Reedwing (camp with arguing cats) @ everybody lol Reedwing huffed in response to the quickly dispersing group and dropped her shoulders in exhaustion. It had been a long day and it wasn't over yet. She hoped to Starclan that nothing else would go wrong today. Looking down, the deputy gave Haretooth a comforting touch with her nose before deciding to leave the elder alone to grieve.

Greystar sees some commotion over near the bodies and inwardly groans. Thankfully, Reedwing appeared to have everything under control. He was more than ready to use his voice to break up the little disruption. This gathering better give us answers. Last thing he wanted was to start giving every cat a lecture to prevent infighting.
He looks back at Kestreltalon for a moment forgetting he was there. "This clan needs more cats like you. Loyal and knows how to show respect!" He says the last part a little loud so certain cats could hear them.

Thistleheart • Tom • Runner
After paying his respects, Thistleheart glared hotly at Reedwing but perhaps it was his loyalty to the clan and respect for the position of deputy that kept him silent. She was too soft for the position, but that was something he wouldn't be vocalizing, it wasn't his place to judge Greystar's choice. Even so, his fur bristled and his tail lashed behind him as she flung around the word respect as if he had none, as if he had not failed his clanmates and had to carry them back to camp with the shame of this reality burning in his chest. He certainly had more right to bear fury than Reedwing had to try and quell it, of this he firmly believed, but despite a desire to shout back and the nature to do it, she was still the deputy and he would just have to deal with that for now. It certainly felt as if the clan had grown soft, non-clan born cats roaming among them while three of the more respectable clanborns lay dead before them... it was sickening.
Spitting in aggrivation, the brown tabby padded away from the clearing and lept to one of the ledges within camp. He pointedly turned his back to the disgraceful group of cats as he laid down on the hard ledge, sulking silently over what he deemed unjust treatment, all the more disgusted she'd sent half a group of rogues to bury the bodies.
Birchheart • Tom • Fighter When the situation concluded, Birchheart's shoulders sagged with the further exhaustion that such unneeded conflict would cause, the gloom certainly beginning to sink in even for him. "Everyone's just on edge..." he repeated under his breath to himself, growing weary just from the simple act of trying to remain on top of his own feelings among the clan virtually caving in on itself. He cared little that his own words had been ignored, though perhaps disheartened by how little they cared for those who grieved, more so thinking of his mother and sister than himself but he was grateful at least Reedwing's words were enough. However, he had noticed Reedwing comforting the old form of his mother and offered a grateful glance to the deputy, both for her intervention and that of caring for the old cat when he knew she would be grieving the most. It hadn't been that long ago since old Haretooth had to mourn the death of Liontail as well, though in that death they had been joined by Cherryfall.
It was with some minor relief, however, that he noticed his sister among the ledges, though the pang of regret that she had more than likely already been filled in on the situation. After all, Greystar had addressed it and such. Nevertheless, grateful to let hunting herdown rest, he glanced at Thorneyes with tired eyes. "Search over I suppose." he muttered, the ghost of a smile vainly trying to remain on his face, though hardly convincing, as he flicked his tail towards the sandy form of Sandstrike. "Perhaps it's time I stop putting off the inevitable..." he murmured to himself as his eyes drifted back to the lifeless form of his brother among the cavern floor. It wouldn't do for Robinflame to not receive a proper send off, though there was comfort in knowing he would be meeting Liontail that night. "My apologies, Thorneyes, I do not mean to cut things short with you, but I should see to Robinflame before his... grave is dug... Or at least before something else seeks to disturb the peace..." the ginger added with an apologetic dip of his head, his soft green gaze drifting off distracted, before he headed towards the bodies -- willing himself not to lose his nerve, or his fragile mask, as he approached Robinflame.
Featherpaw • She-cat • Medicine Cat's Apprentice Athough Featherpaw had quieted as some rushed to Crowpaw's defense, grateful not to be alone in that, her eyes were still ablaze with fury that Palewhisker would so openly mock an apprentice based on a heritage they could not control. Disgusting is what it was, and the pale ginger was practically vibrating with an anger wholly foreign to her. She knew it was not her place to chastize a warrior and yet... it was unbearble to know the cat was just going to get away with it.
She would have to be satisfied with the curses she was spitting in her own head, and the comfort of knowing at least some of their clanmates were not so wholly disposed against those who may have had more unique circumstances behind being among them. After all, even their own Medicine Cat bore a heritage that began outside of the clans.

The tom turned towards the commotion with his jaws agape. Quarreling like this? Right in front of their fallen dead? He was taken aback. Shaking his head, he didn't know what to do. Yet again, he saw the clan taking a turn for the worst, away from their noble traditions and towards the anarchy and discord more characteristic of vultures squabbling over a piece of carrion than true clan cats.
"I won't keep you longer Greystar, but what I really wanted to broach was the possibility of my leading an extra hunting patrol today. With initiate training canceled and the morning's commotion, the freshkill pile is running low," he explained, his voice stately and composed. "I hoped I might take out some of the least affected by today's events to hunt for those too lost in grief to do so for themselves."

Crowpaw - GaleClan Camp
As the commotion died down, a sudden wave of exhaustion overwhelmed Crowpaw. For what little time he was in the clan, at most he had only received at most, glares and avoidances, now with some of the more outspoken cats coming forward, he well and truly felt like an outsider. With one last lash of his tail and his head hung low, the dark gray tom turned around and slowly padded back to bodies, a but collapsing to the ground as he resumed his vigil.
(Crowpaw is just gonna angst for a bit, don’t mind him haha)
