Crowpaw - GaleClan Camp with the other apprentices
As the sun began to rise, it marked the end of the apprentices’ vigil. Crowpaw couldn’t even imagine the last time he was this tired, he could feel it down to his bones and felt his eyes burn in a desperate plea for sleep. The young cat remember still and kept his eyes open. He had made a vow to himself that he was going to show the clan born cats he had what it takes to be a warrior GaleClan could be proud of, and his strive to give his clan perfection starts now.
His body ached fiercely from remaining in the same position, yet he dared not move until he and the rest of the apprentices were give the clear to bury the bodies.

With dawn breaking above them, the large ginger warrior lifted his head from the long cold body of Robinflame. Although a punishment for the apprentices, Birchheart had his own rather clear reasons for remaining in the clearing that night, vaguely aware of those that had remained in silent vigil as well. He'd only barely noticed the slender gray tabby form of Toadpaw had joined them late into the evening of his own volition, in itself something of a miracle given the odd behavior the young apprentice often displayed. Even so, Toadpaw had been Robinflame's apprentice, thus the warrior had nothing to say regarding the matter -- if anything, simply feeling a sympathy for him as well. He'd certainly lost too many familiar faces for his age.
A wide yawn escaped Birchheart's maw as he did his best to blink away the exhaustion, stretching his his legs forward before rising stiffly to his paws. His gaze fell over the other apprentices who were here without much choice and though he didn't disagree with Greystar's punishment at all, he couldn't help but feel sympathy for the young cats, silently noting that Featherpaw seemed to have lost her battle against sleep during the night. Lightly nudging the she-cat as if to calmly wake her without garnering the attention of any other warrior's present, he spoke up, "I'll check with Hyliaecho about where the burial will take place. In the meantime, you three should get something to eat." He stepped away from the clearing, but paused, glancing over his shoulder, "But don't wander off too far. You'll be excused to rest and see to other such needs after the burial is completed." With those final words, he departed in search of Hyliaecho. Featherpaw • She-cat • Medicine Cat's Apprentice Location: Camp clearing with Crowpaw & Firepaw @junospaw Featherpaw's head jolted upright, unable to disguise the groggy confusion on her face as she glanced about unfamiliarly at the clearing. She was, after all, used to the comfort of the Medicine Cat's den, the thickly scented herbs that would flood her senses and all. However, she soon regained her composure and nodded through a yawn. "Come on, you two." the pale ginger stated in regard to Crowpaw and Firepaw as she shook the morning dew from her thick pelt, soon padding towards the freshkill pile. Thanks to the efforts of those sent out on hunting patrol, though it had been as punishment itself, there was well enough to get the clan through the morning and Featherpaw felt no shame in taking a larger piece of prey, shooting a glance at her brother that he seemed to pick up well enough.
Departing from the freshkill pile, she settled in what would be her and Firepaw's usually place, just a short distance from the Medicine Cat's den. Even if she was no longer welcome inside, she felt no reason to avoid the outside. "You should join us too, Crowpaw, you'll be drug out with us anyway. More convenient if were all in the same place." she added after dropping the bird down on the ground and settling herself beside it where she'd begin stripping away the feathers. Firepaw • Tom • ApprenticeLocation: Camp clearing with Crowpaw & FirepawJunospower Firepaw could hardly believe his sister's lackadaisical nature, but he supposed she had always had her ways of bouncing back, and as a result followed her lead and would settle down beside her when she had made herself comfortable. He felt some reluctance that she was invitign the other apprentice over to join them but said nothing on the matter, neither willing to start a fuss nor able to argue with her logic on the matter. "Mother mentioned wishing to join us in the Apprentice's den when we were allowed to sleep." he explained to Featherpaw who seemed to only nod absentmindedly, unlike him and Crowpaw, she'd fallen asleep, and he hardly thought she was too worried about anoth bout of rest.
Although he'd neglected to bring up the conversation he'd had with Wisteriaflower to Featherpaw, he didn't really think she'd find it too odd their mother would like some time with them. Especially after such a catastrophic night. The paler ginger certainly didn't seem as easily strung out by the anxiety that her brother and mother tended to be regardless, though. Toadpaw • Tom • Apprentice Location: Apprentice's Den, Open
With the general vigil over, Toadpaw rose to his paws silently, unable to will himself to so much as a wordless prayer to starclan before departing for the Apprentice's den. He could hardly speak to ancestors that took another from him, not in seeking a mercy he believed them devoid of. The only silverlining he could catch between his paws was that he'd be free of training until a new mentor was selected, though that didn't do much to ease the pang of grief that tugged at his heart.
Nevertheless, he slender tabby form disappeared back into the darkness of the den and he made his way back to his usual place of sleep, a nest settled as far back in the den as they came. He'd soon curled back into the soft moss, his tail flicking silently over his face as he eagerly let himself fall into a miserable sleep.

Crowpaw - GaleClan Camp with Featherpaw and Firepaw - Little meow meowThrough his tiredness, Crowpaw was sure he had miss heard Featherpaw. He had never been invited to join in sharing fresh-kill before, and judging by Firepaw’s slightly shocked expression, he wasn’t entirely welcomed. Featherpaw continued to look at him expectantly, so the dark gray tom nodded and slowly made his way to the fresh-kill pile, still groggy from the lack of sleep. He chose a rather scrawny looking vole and went back to his fellow apprentices, settling himself down and tucking into his meal.

Heatherstripe(in camp, with Amberleaf)
Heatherstripe had been hunting all morning, and was pretty happy with her catch of two mice and a vole. She began to pad towards camp when sharp pain sliced through her foot, she stifled a yowl and lifted her foot to see what had pricked her. 'Fox dung!' she cursed under her breath, a large thorn was embedded in the pad of her foot. She limped slowly back to camp. Soon, she came to the camp entrance and padded into camp, careful to keep her hurt leg off the ground. She limped into Amberleaf's den, where she found her sorting herbs.

Featherpaw • She-cat • Medicine Cat's ApprenticeLocation: Galeclan Camp with Crowpaw & FirepawJunospower If Featherpaw had noticed her brother's less welcoming air, she was choosing to ignore it, or perhaps a brief flick of her tail against him had been enough to warn the wary ginger. Regardless, the pale ginger she-cat seemed pleasantly cheerful as Crowpaw settled along with them with his own meal, taking a bite of the bird once she had thoroughly defeathered it and allowing Firepaw to do the same. "You two look absolutely miserable." she teased sympathetically, perhaps feeling a little guilty she'd dozed off while the two toms had managed the full night but not bad enough to regret her current state. After all, it was easier to serve punishment when one was awake than otherwise.
"Reedwing will probably be taking up initiate training patrols, huh? Although, I suppose it's unlikely there would be any training today..." She began in a soft voice, though drifted off in a quiet pause as she glanced back at the bodies, "B.. But it's probably for the best, you guys might pass out mid-pounce." she added, injecting more playful cheer in her tone somewhat forcefully. Perhaps in her own way, Featherpaw was trying very hard to lighten things up, though she felt it might be easier once the situation had finally been concluded with the burial. Well, as concluded as it could be under the circumstances, the pain of loss certainly didn't fade overnight, and it was bound to be a sensitive topic even if the gathering went well. Especially seeing as how Liontail had also passed on a border patrol, but she was hopeful it would have a similarly peaceful resolution. Amberleaf • Tom • Medicine CatLocation: Medicine Cat's Den with Heatherstripe🐦silvermoon2🐦 Amberleaf was far back in his den, the tom having just finished sorting a few important herbs he felt he was going to need by the end of the day. Particularly herbs to ease paw related pain; torn claws, cracked and sore pads, that sort of thing. After all, with a couple apprentices on that task, he was sure they were bound to cause themselves some minor discomfort over the process -- especially given the number of graves they would be digging. The thought struck amberleaf like a thorn and he had to shake it away with a heavy sigh, briefly struggling with the reality that poor Featherpaw had learned the day before. A Medicine Cat could only help those who lived, the dead were already out of his paws and as big a game he talked for Starclan, as much as he tried to comfort his clanmates... well, the limits of his own abilities hit hard.
His ears perked as he heard the pawsteps of someone approaching, however, the tom stifling his own worries and any annoyance to a disruption before he could fit in a nap. Duties called, however, and despite how varied the opinions of him were, he was dedicated to those very duties. Stepping back towards the main section of his den, the ginger took note of Heatherstripe's form, particularly her odd stance that favored one of her paws greatly. "Morning, Heatherstripe. Looks like you could use a paw." he greeted her, a small jab to lighten the mood whilst also pressing for details. "Lay down and let me take a look." he soon ordered as he sat down in front of the she-cat expectantly.

Crowpaw - GaleClan Camp with Featherpaw and Firepaw - Little meow meow“After a quick rest I’ll be fine,” Crowpaw said after swallowing a piece of his vole, “I can hang on a while long.” Crowpaw would have brushed off the medicine cat apprentice’s concerns and lie that he was just fine, but he must have looked as bad as he felt and he trained eyes would have called him out. Finishing his meal, Crowpaw gave himself a quick stretch and looked around. Hoping to at least see Hyliaecho so the worst part of the punishment would finally be over.

Wolfstar found himself up bright and early mainly cause he wanted to go out on a patrol. After yesterday's fiasco, he wanted to spend some time with hopefully everyone in the clan and remind them that they are all united. Although, he wanted to silent any thoughts of dissent within his clan.

Amberleaf • Tom • Medicine CatLocation: Medicine Cat's Den with Heatherstripe🐦silvermoon2🐦 With how tense everyone had been since the day before, it was nice to have the, albeit involuntary, company of a cat that seemed happy enough with a bit of banter. Regardless, Amberleaf listened intensely to the little story the warrior had to tell and nodded in understanding. "And thus the hunter became the hunted.. by a thorn." he mused, settling down to observe the she-cat's paw, nodding slightly to himself. It seemed simple enough to care for, though he certainly wouldn't want the hunter returning to hunting until the wound had closed up. Too much chance of infection. "Alright, first we'll get this out.." he murmured, though he briefly left the brown tabby laying there as he collected a small amount of cobwebs.
Once he returned, he settled down again with the cobwebs carefully placed at his side. "This will definitely sting a bit." he explained before leaning down and tentatively working his teeth around the thorn and, with a sharp tug, pulling the thorn from the Warrior's paw. Placing the thorn safely off to the side until he could discard it properly, he lifted the cop webs up and carefully pressed it into Heatherstripe's paw to soak up any traces of blood in the meantime. "Hold that there for a moment, would you? Starclan forbid you bleed out on me from an extracted thorn." The ginger explained to the hunter, though his tone was light and clearly in good humor. He wasn't always sure the warriors appreciated his mannerisms, but it was a hard habit to break, and one he figured was better to have than to be too stiff and uninviting. That and he was pretty confident that at Heatherstripe's age, she knew better than to fear bleeding out from a thorn. Featherpaw • She-cat • Medicine Cat's ApprenticeLocation: Galeclan Camp with Crowpaw & FirepawJunospower Featherpaw snorted at Crowpaw's seemingly 'tough guy' act, her expression just a clear and direct look that showed she was hardly impressed. "Don't act dumb, just because we have to do the burial doesn't mean you have to suddenly act invincible even after it." she retorted directly, "After all, a good warrior knows to pace themselves, right?" she added with a smile, as if subtly attempting to appeal to the more easily understood behaviors of an apprentice.
After all, Featherpaw was no mind reader, but she hardly had to be to understand early apprentice behaviors and she'd put up with her brother's incessant desire to be a warrior for moons now, over working and all. If that wasn't enough, surely yesterday's stunt had proven enough how ill-advised it was to do more than was desired normally -- at least in her opinion. It was the job of the Warriors and deputies to ensure they were doing as much as was required of them, after all, not the apprentices themselves.

Crowpaw - GaleClan Camp with Featherpaw and Firepaw - Little meow meow“Sorry, old habits die hard. We were expected to push ourselves in the Twolegplace,” Crowpaw confessed, though not entirely truthful. Indeed life was hard in his old home, but he felt that Featherpaw didn’t need to know that the ire of some of their clan mates is his driving motivation for perfection. His tail twitched anxiously at the thought that he might never be good enough for some of them. “So, the gathering’s coming up for the rest of the clan. What’s that like?” Crowpaw mewed, trying to change the subject.

Heatherstripe(In the medicine den with Amberleaf)
Heatherstripe lay still as Amberleaf checked out her paw and laid out his supplies. She allowed herself to relax, she had hunted enough for the day and she would probably help herself to some fresh-kill after Amberleaf was finished with her paw. Before the medicine cat pulled out the thorn, he warned her it might sting. Heatherstripe didn't mind too much, being a senior warrior, she had had her fair share of thorns in her paw in her lifetime. But she still braced herself for the sting as the medicine cat pulled the thorn out. He instructed for her to press some cobwebs to her paw and Heatherstripe did as she was told. Heatherstripe stifled a mrrow amusement at Amberleaf's comment about her bleeding out from an extracted thorn, she was experienced and knew enough to know that a thorn wouldn't do her too much harm.

{{{ So sorry for the late reply, Dark ! Work has been terrible, but I should be here a lot more consistently the rest of this week!}}}
Thorneyes In Camp Thorneyes purred. "Well, once more, thank you. I think fresh prey will help lift the clan's spirits a bit." He paused, the uneasiness of the previous day creeping into his thoughts. "You... you didn't smell any intruders out there while you were hunting, did you?" He asked. As he waited for the reply, he took a bite of his own finch, then nodded to Ivyspot. "Want some?" It was a small bit of prey, but he couldn't help but try to be polite.
Haretooth In Camp With Gorseleap, 🐦silvermoon2🐦 Haretooth had risen from her own vigil in the early hours that morning, whispering her final goodbyes to her fallen clanmates and kit. She had made her peace, as much as could be done with the mystery of the tragedy still at large, and was prepared to stay awake long enough to see them buried. Hunger knawed at her belly, especially with the scent of fresh kill the hunting patrols had brought in, but she vowed not to take any until her clanmates were in the ground. Instead, she found herself noticing the form of Gorseleap. The she-cat looked particularly uncomfortable in that moment, and Haretooth, sympathetically thinking she was distraught due to her clanmates's death, went over to speak to her. "Yesterday was a terrible day for Galeclan. But today brings a fresh start." She murmured quietly, sitting down next to her. "Don't lose heart, young one. Things won't stay this bleak for long." She was almost trying to reassure herself with those words, as it did seem as though Galeclan had experienced quite the string of unfortunate events, and her own family seemed to be getting the worst end of it. But her grandmotherly nature made her feel the need to comfort the younger cats, so she spoke words she didn't quite mean.

Thorneyes In Camp Thorneyes gestured with his tail over to where the bodies of yesterday's patrol lay in the middle of camp. Though no one was quite sure what had happened to them, the fact that this was a murder seemed evident enough to most. "Just with everything going on lately... I may just be being paranoid though. As much as I don't want a war, I wish it was the gathering already so we could talk to Mossclan and find out what's happening once and for all." Thorneyes took another bite of finch thoughtfully. "How have you been, with all of this, I mean?"

Ivyspot can't believe he almost forgot about this whole situation. If it was a murder, surely the cats who did this had gone by now? "I agree, a war isn't the best option for us when our clan is in this state." His gaze rested on the bodies of his clanmates in the clearing. "But the truth needs to come out soon, or Galeclan and Mossclan will be fighting tooth and claw, putting the blame on each other when they have no evidence of what truly happened," he sighed.

Gorseleap(in camp, with Haretooth) bluewonderGorseleap sat at the edge of camp, uncertain of what to do next. She had already paid her respects to her fallen clanmates and she couldn't bear to look at their lifeless forms anymore. It was hard to believe that just yesterday they had been talking with clanmates and performing regular warrior duties like the rest of them. She had put her thoughts about Shadowstep to the back of her mind, she was thinking about other matters now. 'Maybe I should join a hunting patrol' Gorseleap thought. As she was thinking about what she should do next, she noticed Haretooth padding up toward her, there was deep sadness in her eyes. Gorseleap felt a strong pang of sympathy for the old she-cat, as well as losing clanmates and friends, one of her kits was among the dead. Haretooth sat down beside her and meowed' Yesterday was a terrible day for GaleClan. But today brings a fresh start.' She continued'Don't lose heart, young one. Things won't stay this bleak for long.' Gorseleap could see the wisdom in the old she-cat's words, and felt heartened to hear them spoken, especially by a cat who had lost so much. She began to feel hopeful, perhaps things would be normal again soon. 'You're right' Gorseleap murmured in reply. But then her gaze drifted to her fallen clanmates and her hopefulness began to fade, how could things return to normal with so many dead. She felt a sudden urge to confide in her clanmate, she had kept her feelings to herself for the whole time, and she couldn't bear it any longer. 'But how can things ever return to normal when so many of our clanmates are dead?' Gorseleap mewed, she wanted to wail like a lost kit, they had lost so much and if MossClan didn't stop, if they went to war, they would most certainly lose more.

Featherpaw • She-cat • Medicine Cat's ApprenticeLocation: Galeclan Camp with Crowpaw & FirepawJunospower Being clanborn herself, It wasn't as though Featherpaw could have caught the other apprentice in a lie, though she stared the dark colored apprentice down in analytic silence. "Well, this isn't the twoleg place. Overdoing it is how you end up over taxing yourself, half-dead in the Medicine Cat's den." She retorted with a sigh but seemed to be willing to give up on the topic for now, after all, there was no point in what ifs and such. That and the following inquiry seemed to draw her attention, eyes brightening, hardly letting it weigh her down that she wouldn't be able to go herself this time.
"Oh, they're delightful, most of the time." she seemed cheerful initially though her brow furrowed in a worried pause, "Not that I think it'll be too great this time." She felt a little bad rushing into the topic as if everything were normal, but shook her head lightly. There was no point lingering on the negatives, there would surely be better gatherings in the future. "But usually they are pretty nice events, cats from both clans show up so you get to meet some of the Mossclan cats. Firepaw and I went to the last gathering, I think the worst is trying to ignore the smell of the wetlands." The last of her words carried a lilt of laughter in her tone, tail swaying with renewed cheer behind her. Firepaw • Tom • ApprenticeLocation: Galeclan Camp with Crowpaw & FeatherpawJunospower Firepaw took another bite of the meal as he listened to the two talk initially, tail twitching occasionally as if to signal he was paying attention, though he was surely unwilling to back up his sister's words about over working. He had a tendency for that himself, a vague embarrassment rising in the tom's chest. "The gatherings are fun and all, but the Day of Competition is better, I think. Sometimes we meet up with Mossclan in the mountains for that, though I don't think that'll happen this time." The dark ginger chimed in after Featherpaw had said her piece. "Don't suppose you know much about what that is either, huh?" the apprentice added as he glanced towards the dark grey cat, although he couldn't whole mask the faint condescending nature of his words that soon earned him another thwap of Featherpaw's tail. Amberleaf • Tom • Medicine CatLocation: Medicine Cat's Den with Heatherstripe🐦silvermoon2🐦 Once Heatherstripe had done as was requested, Amberleaf headed back towards the storage of herbs, gently pawing through the plants. Nipping off a few brightly colored petals of marigold and goldenrod as well as a small leaf, he chewed the concoction up into a poultice that he'd spit out onto an oak leaf. Dusting up a layer of cobwebs with his tail, he made his way back to the waiting hunter, placing his little bundle on the ground beside them. Perhaps it was a bit much for a simple thorn but being a little over prepared never hurt anyone, after all, it was only a little too much until an infection set in and they had more to contend with.
"Alright, you can take the cobwebs off for now... this should relieve the pain as well as prevent infection." He explained, gesturing towards the poultice he intended to apply, "Though, I'll want you resting until the wound has closed completely. Puncture wounds like this can infect easily if not treated properly, especially on a cat's pawpads."

Amberleaf • Tom • Medicine CatLocation: Medicine Cat's den with Heatherstripe🐦silvermoon2🐦 Amberleaf nodded quietly to assure the cat he had heard her as he got to work, carefully applying the chewed herbs to heatherstripe's paw. When he finished off his work, the ginger used the leaf as a wrap and bound it all together with a generous amount of cobwebs. "There we go, leave that on for the day. Should relieve your discomfort and drive out any possible infections, though I wouldn't go walkin around too much lest you irritate the wound." he explained as thoroughly as he felt was necessary, "And you can drop by again tonight if the pain returns. Can't imagine it'll be too much trouble for you as long as you take it easy, but you never know."
Backing away, the tom stretched his limbs, satisfied with a job well done. However, as he sat upright again he glanced back at the warrior. "I'll want to see you tomorrow, though. I doubt you'll be ready to return to your warrior duties right away but it never hurts to see where you're at." Lazy as he seemed, the Medicine Cat preferred to be quite thorough when it came to his clanmates safety, and perhaps recent events were causing him to be more so.

Thorneyes
In Camp
"Too much blood has already been shed." Thorneyes agreed, finishing his finch with a few mournful bites. He sat up, licking his jaws. "I know we share a fair number of differences with Mossclan, but I've never seen Galeclan so antagonistic towards them... or towards outsiders either, for that matter." He reflected back on his sister's words, deciding he would have to try to talk to her later. Though it was highly unlike him to ever correct his sister, this couldn't be ignored. Cats were cats, it didn't matter their background. Surely there was a misunderstanding and she didn't mean what she said, but if she did mean it... well, he would make sure she came to a better understanding. He glanced around, wondering if Greystar or Reedwing had made border patrols for the day yet. Though he would assume the patrol would be made up of more fighters, he wouldn't mind a chance to stretch his legs. Or perhaps Mothpaw would be available for a training session later today. For now though, he was content sharing a few words with Ivyspot. "Honestly though, I don't know who else it could have been if it wasn't Mossclan. The bodies smelled like Mossclan, not any predators or rogue cats. I don't know how Stormstar is going to refute this."

Ivyspot's tail drooped a bit. "If it smelled like MossClan, then it probably was MossClan," he sighed. He wasn't on the patrol who found the bodies, but he took Thorneyes's word. Ivyspot could admit that he was a little disappointed. He was a fighter, but that didn't mean he wanted conflict, especially with their neighboring clan. "I was hoping the attackers were a group of rogues, then at least we wouldn't have a war between the two clans."

Thorneyes
In Camp
Thorneyes shook his head. Honestly, he didn't really know the whole story. The details had circulated around camp wildly- patrol was attacked, dead bodies, unknown cats, Mossclan scent... But could that really be all there was to the story? It was so unlike Mossclan to kill randomly on a border patrol, and hadn't they mentioned other bodies at the scene? But it had to be Mossclan. There were no other group of cats strong enough or numerous enough to commit this crime. "None of it makes much sense." He confessed. "First with Liontail, now this? It feels like we have to constantly be looking over our own shoulders. Just be careful next time you're out." He knew Ivyspot was a fighter, but so were many cats on the ill-fated patrol. He didn't know what he would do if more lives were lost.
Haretooth In Camp With Gorseleap, 🐦silvermoon2🐦 Haretooth pressed her mishappen calico pelt into Gorseleap's side comfortingly, though her own heart felt like it was breaking all over again as she heard the she-cat's despair. So many lives had been lost, her own family more than any. She felt the rage towards Mossclan from the previous day engulf her once more, but she shook it off like a flee after a moment. Young Gorseleap needed comfort, and Haretooth was trying hard to make some semblance of peace for herself as well. It wouldn't do to dwell on what she couldn't control. "We've lost so many, but never forget that they aren't truly gone. They're looking down on us from Starclan now, and hopefully will help guide us in whatever comes next, whether that is battle or not." A dark part of her longed for it to be a battle, if only for a swift vengeance on her kin's murderers, but she couldn't wish that upon her clan. If it came down to a battle, Haretooth would never be invited to join, and so she just had to hope and pray for justice, come whatever may. She stood and looked around the camp, and the darkened faces of the mourning cats. The night had done little to heal the previous day's wounds. She knew the bodies would be buried soon, but she needed fresh air, if only for a moment. "I was thinking of taking a walk outside of camp, to the Sunning Stones. It's quite... ironically a beautiful day. If you'd like, I'd appreciate the company. If you're busy though, I understand and will find another cat." She knew Greystar wouldn't be pleased with her going out on her own, but with a warrior, she might could get away with it. This way, she could keep herself awake until the burial was over and she paid her respects in their final resting place.

((Permission for Thornpaw to forcefully push her way into breakfast with Crowpaw, Featherpaw, and Firepaw? She doesn't want to be alone and Toadpaw probably doesn't want her company. She assumes. lol I'll have an intro prepared for either situation. :3

ThornpawShe-cat Hunter Apprentice Sister to Toadpaw, Daughter to Shadowstep Mentored by noneCurrently; In GaleClan camp Eating Anxious With Crowpaw (Junospower) , Firepaw, Featherpaw (Little meow meow)
((Sweeeeet! I already snagged approval in discord from Meow Meow, so 'ere we goooo!))
The form of a sleek, black young cat slunk out of her resident den. She hadn't done much in terms of anything useful since all the mishaps began. She'd been under the weather with a disagreeable vole at the time of the apprentice's running off on the own, originally out of den to help with menial tasks as they'd plotted to look for Firepaw. Something about cleaning her coat too much, Brindlestream thought it a good idea? Who know. Her stomach lurched, realizing that was the last thing she'd been told by her Mentor.
It felt weird to hide away, that was always her brother's thing. However, who wouldn't? She wasn't blind. She saw how her father was treated and many of the other outside cats. She'd never before acknowledged her father's heritage made her an outsider, too, but now she also felt the cold cruelties of prejudice and it made her fur cling to her in nervousness. As much as she hated to think she shared traits with her brother, she didn't want to attract the attention of cats such as the likes of Nettlefang or Palewhisker. Swiftly snatching up the first critter her maw found amongst the freshkill, she guessed her company was best kept with a sympathetic cat, that cat's littermate and a fellow outsider.
"You all don't mind me joining you, do you?" She asked, plopping down with the dead animal and digging immediately in without waiting for a confirmed invitation. She probably should apologize. "I'll make it up to you all somehow, if you didn't want me around. I just guess Palewhisker wouldn't risk fussing over the same apprentices twice, and I wouldn't be surprised to be targeted next. Besides, Toadpaw wouldn't want my company." Even if that did send her tail a-twitching with anxiety, trying to catch any glipse of him around. Would she admit her fears? Not a chance even if it meant a personal message from Starclan, though she did kind of doubt it existed herself, but who knew? She didn't. She wondered if her way of talking was off-putting but she did try to keep in her father's pawprints often. That was what came of it. Although, Shadowstep was far less a talkative cat than his daughter.

Crowpaw - GaleClan Camp with the other apprentices - Little meow meow ; petalblizzardWhiskers twitching with amusement, Crowpaw watched as Thornpaw plopped down beside him and immediately integrated herself into their little group. She was definitely different than the rest of her family, her father and brother best described as stoic or quiet from what he had seen from them so far. It was nice to have another friendly face. “I don’t mind. Thornpaw, right? We were just discussing what the gatherings and Day of Competition are like, since I’m… Well, you know.”

Featherpaw • She-cat • Medicine Cat's ApprenticeLocation: Galeclan Camp with Crowpaw, Thornpaw, FirepawJunospower petalblizzard As Thornpaw injected herself into the little gathering of apprentices, Featherpaw glanced over with a welcoming nod, happy to have another apprentice among them. Despite being Shadowstep's daughter, Thornpaw was a lot more friendly and easy to get along with compared to both her father and her brother, something Featherpaw appreciated. "Always happy to have more company. If Palewhisker tries anything, I'll put a thorn in her nest." she replied in a cheerful enough manner, though a snort of annoyance followed her own comment towards Palewhisker before taking another bite of the bird in the conversational lull.
It seemed she still felt pretty bitter about how unfairly the cat had treated Crowpaw, and the general disdain for anyone who didn't fit that clanborn mold she held so dear. Clanborn or not, it was the effort they put towards the clans benefit that mattered, not where they were born. "Besides, You and Toadpaw were born here, if she has something to say against that, maybe she should take it up with Greystar and every other cat born in Galeclan." the pale ginger added more directly, perhaps in a way seeking to reassure Thornpaw that regardless of Palewhisker's predjudice, she was a part of Galeclan. "And the same goes for any non-clan cat that Greystar chooses to allow among us." she added, with a similar tone of reassurance in regard to Crowpaw. Firepaw remained silent on the matter, though nodded Thornpaw's welcome to join them. He had never viewed Thornpaw or Toadpaw any different from himself or any other of the apprentices born within the walls of Galeclan even despite the strangeness of Shadowstep. After all, regardless of the father, they were Galeclan. Nevertheless, he chose not to make a fuss over the dark gray cat completely missing the tone of his previous comments, not particularly as aggressive as some cats. He wasn't sure he trusted Crowpaw yet, but he couldn't say he wholly hated the other apprentice or anything like that. The darker ginger cat simply hadn't grown used to him, perhaps.
"But right, the day of competition is a pretty popular event that starts early Newleaf. Everyone spends the day running some competitions, split up by ranks. Hunting, climbing, and so on." He began, giving a fairly rudimentary run down of the event. "Usually, the Leaders discuss a day to meet up in the mountains at the gathering, after Mossclan has moved their camp. Otherwise, the two clans just run their own events." He didn't imagine that the gathering was going to go fair enough that the two clans would want to cooperate this year, but he didn't want to continue dampening the mood with everything going on.

Ivyspot w/ Thorneyes- bluewonder
Ivyspot lashed his tail, upset about the whole situation. “Same goes for you,” he meowed. “We can’t afford to lose any hunters, either.”
