Heatherstripe Medicine Den, with Amberleaf Heatherstripe let out a sigh of relief as the cooling juices sunk into her paw and helped relieve the pain. Heatherstripe nodded in reply to Amberleaf's words, 'I will' she mewed. She got to her paws, making sure she didn't put too much weight on the injured one and began to head out of the den. When she was almost out of the den, Amberleaf's voice made her turn her head back. 'Ok, she replied, I'll be back tomorrow, and thankyou for your help, my paw feels better already.' Turning away, she headed out of the medicine den toward the fresh kill pile. At the pile, she picked out a mouse, and hungrily sat down to eat it, it had been a long day and she was content to sit down and eat her mouse.
Gorseleap In camp, with Haretooth
Gorseleap felt comforted by Haretooth's presence and leaned into her, grateful for her comfort. It was nice to have a clanmate to confide in, especially in such tough times. She nodded in response to the old cat's words, Haretooth was right, their clanmates weren't truly gone, they were in StarClan now, and would watch over them whatever happened next. 'Of course I will come with you' Gorseleap responded when Haretooth asked if she would come on a walk with her' I would like that very much.' A walk would be good, she thought, it would be nice to get some fresh air and clear her head of all the Clan's troubles, and to be with a clanmate.

Haretooth
Leaving Camp With Gorseleap, 🐦silvermoon2🐦 Haretooth forced out a purr of gratitude. In all honesty, she wasn't sure when she would ever purr naturally again. But she owed it to her lost children and her clan to carry on the best she could. She exited camp with Gorseleap at a slow pace, feeling somewhat self-conscious by her speed. "You'll have to excuse me." She said. "These old bones never work right anymore, and they're even more stiff after laying in the open all night...." She trailed off, remembering the vigil the night before. After a few moments of walking in silence, she spoke again. "How is being a warrior treating you?" She said light-heartedly. "You were only appointed what... not too many moons ago, right? Or does it all just run together for an old cat?"
Thorneyes In Camp With Ivyspot, Dark ; and Heatherstripe, 🐦silvermoon2🐦 Thorneyes nodded. "Of course." He noticed Heatherstripe as she entered the clearing to eat and waved a tail to her in greeting. Turning back to Ivyspot, he continued thoughtfully. "I'm sorry if you overheard my sister before." He said, referencing when Palewhisker had spoken rudely to their fellow clanmates who were non clan-born. Thorneyes himself was never one to pry into others business, but he was curious what Ivyspot's stance on everything was, considering how his sister Rainstorm had been engaged in a somewhat scandalous affair with the Mossclan cat Shadowstep. Of course, Shadowstep was a Galeclan cat now, and to Thorneyes, that made him just as much his clanmate as any others, along with his children. But to others? How did Ivyspot feel, especially with his sister now in Starclan. He wondered momentarily how his own sister Palewhisker might feel about a cat such as Shadowstep as well. How many grudges had she been harboring without him noticing?{Lol I'mma just have my cats gossiping }

Ivyspot w/ Thorneyes & Heatherstripe (?)
Ivyspot waved his tail dismissively, silently recalling what Thorneyes's littermate had said. "You shouldn't feel the need to apologize for Palewhisker's actions. Don't worry about it," he brushed it off. Lowering his voice he continued, "She's just... acting like a fuzz-brain."
To be honest, Ivyspot didn't think Palewhisker was being fair. A non Galeclan born cat was just as much a part of the clan than any other cat was! He would've told Palewhisker off by now, but didn't want to bring up any unnecessary conflict, especially since he could be somewhat associated with a non Galeclan born cat, Shadowstep. Ivyspot didn't want Palewhisker nagging his late sister's mate, once again, who was most likely still grieving her death. He himself knew that he still couldn't let her go.

ThornpawShe-cat Hunter Apprentice Sister to Toadpaw, Daughter to Shadowstep Mentored by noneCurrently; In GaleClan camp Eating Anxious With Crowpaw (Junospower ) , Firepaw, Featherpaw (Little meow meow )
To say Thornpaw had felt relief they hadn't turned her away, or even spit a harsh yowl of annoyance was an understatement. Her stomach eased, which was good. Amberleaf would grow tired of her if vole digestion became commonplace. Her heart ached for a few reasons at the mention of the day of Competition, more due to the fact that her mentor recently had talked about within the last few sunsets, reopening that hurt. Still, being her father's daughter, she held her thoughts to herself.
"My favorite day." She somehow managed to purr, remembering words of praise instead of the day itself. Still, Featherpaw's reactions amused her. She didn't actually believe the cat would, or else she never would have said, "Let me know if you'd like help with that."
The she-cat gave her pelt a shake. "Maybe, but getting her to believe that might prove even more likely than yourself hearing a message from our ancestors. Not that you wouldn't ever, I just mean... I think mice have more in their brains than that one."
Thornpaw sighed. In her mind, Palewhisker was a danger to everyone, clanborn and otherwise. She wasn't even sure Graystar was safe around her, though she couldn't admit that aloud. In fact, she looked around and lowered her voice to a low whisper. "I think we should keep an eye out on her. She thinks lowly of us, and would slip up around us more than any other cat. If she'd yowl at any of us as young as we, what else might she do under Graystar and Reedwing's noses?"
Perhaps a vole for thought. She meant not to get the older cat into trouble, but this concerned Thornpaw greatly. "If she shows sense, after all, I'm for leaving her alone, but I feel like I have to try. It feels like Palewhisker is out for something even worse than whatever MossClan might be planning."
((Hrm, I might edit this. I'm not sure Thorn has enough moons under her belt for something like this plot. My brain is sleep-deprived at the moment.))

Crowpaw - GaleClan Camp with the other apprentices - Little meow meow ; petalblizzardCrowpaw’s brows furrowed in thought at Thornpaw’s words. Sure, Palewhisker did have a dislike to cats born outside GaleClan, but she seemed fiercely loyal to her clan. Surely the she-cat wouldn’t dare do something drastic like over-throw Greystar, right? No, no, he needed to be logical. He can’t just go around accusing another cat with no other reason than her views. He was already the furthest down the pecking order as it is, it wouldn’t do him any good. But then again, he couldn’t help but feel a gnawing sense of distrust towards Palewhisker from Thornpaw’s accusations. The way the warrior looked at him… “I don’t think we should just go ahead and just accuse her, we don’t have any evidence against her. Though, maybe… maybe we could keep an eye on her I suppose…”

Featherpaw • She-cat • Medicine Cat's ApprenticeLocation: Galeclan Camp with Crowpaw, Thornpaw & FirepawJunospower petalblizzard With the conversation shifting from the lighthearted explanation of clan events to distrust of Palewhisker, Featherpaw's brow furrowed in concern much like Crowpaw. It was one thing to be angry at Palewhisker for her actions, but the Medicine Cat's apprentice hardly felt comfortable with the idea of accusing her of being a traitor to the clan. Perhaps it was a bias of those more than like to be targeted, after all, her and Firepaw had no such allegations against them. In that way, maybe they couldn't really relate. "I don't know if I'd go that far..." she began, whiskers twitching nervously, quite uncomfortable with the speculations being raised against another clan member.
"... But I suppose keeping an eye out for anything strange from her is harmless enough. We definitely shouldn't make any baseless accusations, though..." The pale ginger added after a moment of thought, tail twitching behind her. "After all, Palewhisker has been nothing if not a loyal cat despite her disdain for non-clanborn... And if we started accusing anyone with prejudice, we might as well be accusing half the clan of treason." Granted, Featherpaw had no love for the cat's rude display, but she hardly wanted to get wrapped up in her own feelings and cause further trouble with the clan already so divided. Honestly, she had no love for the blatant prejudice that clouded the minds of her fellow clanmates either, but she didn't want to believe anyone, even Palewhisker, would threaten the clan from the inside. Firepaw's eyes widened in silence, initially, as he heard Thornpaw's words and the hesitant but agreement to watch her from the other two apprentices. "Are you all mouse-brained!?" he exclaimed in a frantic but quiet voice, the fur along his back bristling with undisguised horror a their words. "You can't just go accusing someone of something like that over a few unkind words, and you two shouldn't be encouraging her..!" the ginger added with a shared glare towards Featherpaw and Crowpaw in turn. The warrior code hardly had anything to say regarding baseless paranoia against another, but morally, he just could not justify staking out a cat without reason.
"Even if it weren't a simply ridiculous notion in itself, just imagine what would happen if you three were caught. She just about tore off your hide for a few words, imagine what she'd do if you followed her about and accused her of betraying the clan." He added furiously, tail lashing behind him, though he could hardly hide the concern he felt. He may have had little love for Crowpaw, but he doubted the cat would be let stay if he continued to find himself in trouble so soon after joining the clan.

Violetbloom w/ Shadowstep - Little meow meow
Violetbloom slunk into the warriors' den, searching for Shadowstep. Although she didn't really have any affiliation with him, she wanted to make sure he was doing okay. She spotted him curled up in his nest, seemingly asleep. Violetbloom hesitated, not wanting to bother him, but shook it off and padded over to where he was resting. After all, she wasn't born in Galeclan either- or any clan for that matter- and she had heard about Palewhisker's harsh words towards him.
Approaching Shadowstep, she mewed, "Hello, are you okay?"

Shadowstep • Tom • FighterLocation: Warrior's Den with VioletbloomDark Shadowstep would have naturally awoken by now and been about his own business, but after his encounter with Palewhisker, he was being... cautious. His innocence was true, but the she-cat had dared corner him among a time of grieving to accuse him of treason, he hardly wanted to put himself in a position of further doubt. He'd also noticed Reedwing hadn't set up a patrol yet that morning, though he assumed with all that had happened that she may have simply not gotten around to it yet. Regardless, as he was approached and spoken to, he lifted his head to meet Violetbloom's gaze evenly, searching for ill intent in her words and body language. When he found nothing innately hostile, he nodded, albeit somewhat suspiciously over the concern. He'd done little to endear himself to the clan and with all the speculations, he found it hard to imagine receiving genuine concern.
"Well enough." he replied directly, his tone bearing little regarding feeling one way or another. "Did you need something from me?" he inquired calmly, as if nothing had changed in the clan. As if that very question hadn't sparked quite a problem with another warrior the night before.

Thorneyes
In Camp With Ivyspot, Dark Thorneyes nodded but didn't say anything for a moment. Discomfort writhed in the pit of his belly. He was a naturally easygoing cat who truly loved his sister, and the antagonism towards her yesterday and today caused him an anxiety he didn't often feel. He had heard her name passed around some this morning, between apprentices and warriors alike, and shame burned through him from eartips to tail. "She's a good cat..." He felt himself trying to justify. "I think all the recent events just sorta... got to her, you know? Maybe she's just scared, like everyone else, and is showing it in... not the greatest way." He sighed, knowing that didn't excuse her actions. He knew that Ivyspot said he didn't have to apologize on behalf of her, but he felt as though he did. The two of them, after all, had always been close as far as siblings went, and he didn't want a bad reputation or dislike circulating either of them.

Violetbloom w/ Shadowstep- Little meow meow
Violetbloom could hint waves of suspicion radiating from the tom, but she didn't say anything about it. She guessed his most recent encounter with Palewhisker made him doubt the intentions of his clanmates more than he already had. Violetbloom shook her head softly. "Not at all, I'm just checking in after what had happened with... well, you know."
She decided to change the subject, not knowing if this topic was something Shadowstep wanted to talk about. "Do you mind if I stay? I don't really have anything to do right now, it's quite boring sitting around all by myself." Her whiskers twitched with a hint of amusement. To tell the truth, she really was interested in chatting with Shadowstep, but she also assumed that the tom was lonely and thought he could use some company.
Ivyspot w/ Thorneyes- bluewonder
Ivyspot's tail twitched. "I'm not saying that she's bad necessarily, it's just... why take things out on a specific cat?" He shook his head slightly. "Things are hard enough without our clanmates turning against each other," he sighed.
He continued, "Although, I do agree with what you said, everything that happened is scrambling our heads around, and cats are acting out. I doubt that things are peaceful in Mossclan right now." Ivyspot was sure that things were most likely hectic in Mossclan as well, given the current situation.

'I was appointed 3 moons ago' she replied.'So not too long ago.'

Shadowstep • Tom • FighterLocation: Warrior's Den with VioletbloomDark Shadowstep's ear twitched slightly at the 'delicate' way Violetbloom had addressed the situation with Palewhisker, confusion briefly flashing in his eyes. "Word travels fast, I didn't think anyone but Palewhisker and Gorseleap was in on their little plan." he stated simply and seemingly indifferently, only aware of what had happened in the Warrior's den and all but nothing about her further outburst outside. He'd heard a commotion, certainly, but he hadn't really bothered to check what was riling everyone up at that point. Regardless, he hardly believed the situation worth revisiting, and even less that Palewhisker deserved to be discussed further. A loyal warrior, he hoped, but certainly an annoying one with that temperament. However, at the inquiry, he raised a brow in a brief moment of silence but then rolled his shoulders in a shrug. "Do as you will, I don't own the den." he replied nonchalantly, far from the welcoming mannerisms others might have provided in assurance. He'd had quite enough attention lately, for sure, though he could at least say it hadn't all been negative.

( Little meow meow lovely thank you! I'll get Nettlefang started and then see if I can get Reedwing and Mothpaw settled in once I've read up on what the others are up to Also, do you know roughly when you're planning for the gathering to happen?) Palewhisker -- Hunting Patrol -- With Nettlefang, blu ; Coyoteflame, daydreams ; and Treewind lunapaw🐾
Palewhisker's eyes shot up to meet her fellow fighter's round with shock at his bold agreement to her words. She certainly wasn't expecting such an open disdain for the outside cats... but of course, she herself had said more today about them than she ever had in the past. Perhaps there were more cats than she originally thought that felt the same. And more shocking still were the younger tom's final words. "Y-you think I should be deputy?" She stammered out, feeling slightly flustered. Her whole life she felt she was trying to prove herself to her clan- that she was the strongest fighter, a decent hunter when needed, and a keen mind. Whatever she had to prove, she tried to prove it. Despite her efforts, however, she never felt like the clan truly had warmed to her and respected her. Perhaps it was her ambitions that made others keep her at a paws length. It was a lonely road sometimes, the path to power, but she felt it would be worth it in the end, should she become leader one day. She would be the best leader the clan had seen, and lead it into a powerful golden age. But the cats of Galeclan often... well, they still treated her like a... normal young warrior. Very rarely did anyone comment anything so affirming as this. She paused, mulling over his words, then gave a small shake of her head. "No... I haven't even had my own apprentice yet. And Reedwing isn't bad. I think she tries to do what she thinks is right, but she just doesn't understand how detrimental the outsiders are. Same for Greystar." She sighed, feeling a confusion over the subject she had felt before. "I just don't understand how they can be okay with it though. Like you said, Starclan obviously has rules against outsiders in our clan. If we keep blatantly disobeying them, it's only a matter of time until our clan crumbles, either from an act of Starclan themselves or just our own supposed 'clanmates' turning on us." Her eyes turned dark, thinking of her earlier skirmish with Shadowstep. She lowered her voice to a murmur, in case the hunters were around to hear. "I can't think of any way to make them change their minds, other than trying to catch one of the outsiders in the act of proving their disloyalty. But... that's easier said than done."
Nettlefang (with Palewhisker, chatting somewhere in space and time) bluewonder
Nettlefang stared at Palewhisker unblinkingly as she began her flustered, and frankly irritating, denial of her ambition. Everyone in the clan knew the warrior had her heart set on proving herself to Greystar in any way she could, and Nettlefang had watched many a time as she basically kissed the ground their leader was walking on just to be noticed. He couldn't imagine anything more embaressing.
With a level voice, the warrior cut in after the she-cat had finished her monologue, shaking his head in disagreement. 'Reedwing has all her decisions made for her by flea-bitten elders' he growled, his hair rising at the thought of the weak-minded deputy, 'If the clan wanted to be run by cats that can barely bury their own waste then they'd ask for it. The only reason Greystar has any authority left is purely due to his position as leader, and not for any of the decisions he actually makes in leading the clan.' he couldn't prevent a sharp edge of disdain from entering his voice as he spoke about his father, unable to disguise his hatred of the cat that had raised him. He took a second to calm his voice, hoping that Palewhisker was too concerned by her own situation to question his tone... although it wasn't a great secret that he and Greystar didn't get along, no one had ever suspected the true extent of his hatred, and he hoped to keep it as such. The last thing he needed was Palewhisker digging too deep into his motivations for supporting her. 'The clan is splintering already,' he continued, thinking back on the handful of cats who'd openly defended Palewhisker in the clearing, ' and there are many cats who are unhappy with Greystar's decision to allow rogues into our clan.' Where there were 3 spoken voices, there were surely three times as many who remained silent. 'It is clear that Greystar has lost the clarity of the warrior code. What we need now is someone like you to step up and lead us into a new age of glory, one where attacks like this are seen for what they truly are - a call of war sent by Starclan itself.'
Leaving his words to hang in the air, he gazed at the she-cat for another moment before turning his face away, allowing her tiny brain some time to process what he'd said. The suggestion of violence was subtle yet undeniable in his words, and he could only hope he'd given her enough encouragement and attention to prevent her from running straight to Reedwing and Greystar and reporting him. After a moment of silence she murmered quietly beside him, and he knew he'd gotten her under his paw. ' Leave that part to me,' he turned his eyes to stare into the warrior's face again, ' We'll show them who the rogues really are.' (AHH I am LOVING playing Nettlefang !! So dramatic! So evil! So fun! But honestly I might need some help brainstorming the little plan he's gonna pitch to Palewhisker about how to make it look like the non-clanborn cats have turned on the clan. Any ideas super welcome! The more dramatic the better honestly )

Violetbloom w/ Shadowstep- Little meow meow With a sigh, Violetbloom sat down, curling her tail over her paws. "I'm sure the whole clan knows about it by now," she replied solemnly. "Palewhisker wasn't necessarily erm... quiet about her opinions on non-clanborn cats. Being one myself, I don't really have it in my paws to stop whatever she's planning." The molly's whiskers twitched in annoyance. What was there to do when so many cats will quickly accuse others for something they had little to no part in? "Galeclan is my home, and I earned my place here. So did you, and all the rest of the non-clanborn cats living here."

{laverataspaw, anegloniapaw, coyoteflame, sycamoreheart, snaketongue, and newtpetal are all still open for interaction!} ✸✸❣✸✸
After finding an appropriate burial site with Thorneyes and returning to camp afterwards, the molly had excused herself . she had sat outside the warrior's den, watching the silent vigil for the majority of the night. Though she could not bring herself to join them, she made sure to pay her silent respects to the fallen warrior and hope that they found their way to wherever it was the they went after they passed. While she did not believe in what they did, Hyliaecho had high respects for them and the way that they blindly followed said religion.
It was just passed moon high when Hyliaecho had picked herself up off the ledge and trudged her way into the warriors' den. It was mostly empty, which unnerved the warrior and made it hard for her to find sleep. She slept very little that night, but when the sun rose, she felt just rested enough for the day. The white-furred warrior picked herself up from her nest and shook her long fur out, picking out pieces of her nest that had stuck to her. Padding her way out of the den, Hyliaecho watched out over the ledge, her eyes setting on the large ginger form of Birchheart, no doubt searching for her to inquire the site the burial would take place. "Looking for me, Birchheart?" ✸✸❣✸✸
The long-furred apprentice hadn't been part of the vigil for long the night before. She had only witnessed death once before, when her grandfather, Troutfoot, had passed away only a few moons earlier. Her heart had ached for the old tom, and during the vigil, she could only recall memories of him. She had been very close to her grandfather, and witnessing the death of some of her clanmates had only recalled memories that Honeysucklepaw had tried to cover up. She had left the vigil early, her heart wrenching with sadness. She slept very little, tossing and turning in the nearly empty den. Many of the apprentices' had been punished to sit vigil all night, and only a few fellow apprentices' had chosen to stay in the den.
It was barely morning when her eyes peeked open, heavy with exhaustion. Her sight latched onto Toadpaw as he made his way to his nest, not far from her's. He had lost his mentor, and she felt great sympathy for the fellow apprentice. With hesitation, Honeysucklepaw pulled herself to her paws and trudged her way towards him slowly. "Hi," she muttered sheepishly. "I-I can't sleep, and I-I don't know... I was wondering if I... if I could possibly take the nest next to you?" Honeysucklepaw normally slept alone in the farthest corner of the den, but the last thing the white-furred apprentice wanted was to be alone. She knew she wasn't much liked among her fellow apprentices' due to her haughty nature, but it never hurt to ask. warriors' ledge ✸✸❣✸✸
{I think a may make Wisteria a motherly figure to any of the younger cats who don't have parents/missing a parent, type of thing since her own kits only have one parent}
The ginger warrior had joined the vigil the previous night with her son, sitting a little ways away from him and the other apprentices'. She didn't want Greystar thinking she was coddling either of her children for their actions. She thanked her little nap from earlier in the day, otherwise she more than likely wouldn't have made it through the vigil. As the sun broke out, the molly stretched her sore, stiff limbs before she padded away towards the warriors ledge. With a small nod to Hyliaecho, Wisteriaflower plopped down by the edge of the ledge to rest her eyes for a little while, or until she was needed.

Heatherstripe Near the fresh-kill pile bluewonder Dark Heatherstripe noticed Thorneyes in the clearing and waved her tail to him in reply to his greeting. As she sat down and hungrily ate her mouse, she couldn't help over hearing his conversation with Ivyspot. She silently agreed with them, Palewhisker should be more trusting of her fellow clanmates, it wasn't fair of her to assume disloyalty of cats just because they weren't born in GaleClan, she'd watched them prove their loyalty time and time again and could see that they were just as loyal as any clan born cat, even young Crowpaw, she could tell he had the makings of a fine warrior, it didn't matter where he'd been born. She wondered if she should join in on their conversation.

Birchheart • Tom • FighterLocation: Galeclan Camp with Hyliaechodaydreams Ears perking up at his name, Birchheart's green eyes followed it to the very she-cat he had been searching for, relieved that they could get on with this unpleasant business while the morning was still strong and the sun was warm. After all, as much as they all mourned for their clanmates, he hardly wanted to allow his own reluctant to let go prevent them from properly caring for the fallen bodies and allowing everyone to move on from last night. That and perhaps a small part of him hoped moving on would also ease lingering tensions to some degree. Irregardless of his own feelings, he hardly wanted the clan to splint apart from the inside during a crucial time period. It would look particularly bad if they were a disorderly mess at the gathering as well, especially given the accusations that would be placed upon Mossclan.
"Ah, there you are. Yes, it's time for the burial, Where did you and Thorneyes decide upon?" he inquired as his eyes followed the pale form of Hyliaecho. "Once the apprentices are done eating, I'd like to get this all wrapped up before sunhigh." A sigh followed those words as if betraying the composure he was determined to present, but he knew it'd be more difficult for everyone to motivate and go about their tasks if the bodies remained a focus point of the camp. He also hoped it might ease both Haretooth and Sandstrike's misery over the event to know Robinflame was cared for properly in death, or at least as much as losing a family member could be eased. It wasn't as if the pang of loss was easing in his own chest. Shadowstep • Tom • FighterLocation: Warrior's Den with VioletbloomDark Shadowstep could only assume Palewhisker's fury had followed her out of the den that night, but it was hardly his problem if she caused herself issues with non-clanborn cats. It wasn't as if she was a particularly popular warrior even among the clanborn cats either, her opinions and views meant little and would affect little as far as he was concerned. That and if that ruckus was anything to go by, she didn't get off easily with her opinions either. All mouth with none of the presence to back it up. "There will always be cats in Galeclan that despise the idea of cats from outside of Galeclan being among them, it just is what it is. I'm not particularly concerned about it, and less concerned what Palewhisker, of all cats, believes." He explained rather evenly, clearly not as upset about the she-cat's verbal assault as others might have thought.
After all, he knew what he signed up for when he left Mossclan and his motivations, though redirected, remained the same. He couldn't be here for Rainstorm any longer but he would be here for his children, regardless of a strained relationship with them. So long as Greystar remained leader and allowed non-Galeclan cats to join them, he would remain. "Regardless, what's done is done. Hopefully, that whole debacle can simply be used as a learning experience, one in tolerance if nothing else." He paused briefly, glancing off with a certain thoughtfulness before adding, "I only hope that lesson is learned before she does something foolish or negatively affects some of the younger cats..." Although he wasn't prone to openly showing concern for his clanmates, he couldn't help feeling worried more about the effect it would have on the younger generation -- his own children included. Not to mention it was only took one pawstep towards less savory behaviors before one was walking a dark path, he'd seen that himself back in Mossclan, more than once. He hardly wanted to see Palewhisker go down such a dark road.

Violetbloom w/ Shadowstep- Little meow meow Violetbloom nodded in agreement, though she doubted Palewhisker would act out towards their younger clanmates, at least on purpose. But, like plenty of things, this was something she didn't know for sure. "I hope so too," the molly sighed. "It isn't fair for them to be subjected to their clanmates being treated like this, nonetheless caught up in this whole mess altogether." She flicked her tail, seemingly annoyed. "I just hope somebody does something about this."

((I definitely have to catch up more thoroughly, but I wanted to make a reply so your cats weren't waiting on me.:3 ))
Thornpaw gave a slow blink as she inclined her head. Was that how she'd come across? That all wasn't entirely her intentions. Firepaw made his point well. "I didn't mean I wanted Palewhisker in trouble, or even to accuse her of anything, but what she says and is doing has my fur ruffled. Isn't part of the warrior code holding each other responsible for our actions, as well as ourselves, if we mess up?"
Still...
Thorn nodded. "In any case, you're all right. It might not have been what I intended, but what I'd be doing would be no better than what Palewhisker did when she screeched at my father and Crowpaw. I'm sorry for offending you and, for all I know, Starclan. Anyway, as much as I'm worried about our clan, prejudice is a problem that won't start or end with her. Do you suppose there's anything different we could do? Something within the code that we'd all be comfortable with?"
It wasn't to say Thorn wouldn't still keep an eye on any cat that set her fur on edge, such as that grumpy she-cat bent on making her dad's life miserable, but she shouldn't drag her fellow apprentices in on that when they'd already been in enough trouble.
((LOL! Didn't mean to quote myself!))

Crowpaw - GaleClan Camp with the other apprentices - Little meow meow petalblizzardCrowpaw felt torn. He’d have to agreed with Firepaw, that doing anything involving Palewhisker was just asking for more unnecessary trouble. However, he still couldn’t help feel the seeds of doubt grow within him. “The best thing I can do for myself right now is to keep my head down and make my clan proud. As soon as I’m assigned a mentor, that’s what I need to put my focus into. The only way I can prove Palewhisker wrong about outsiders is be the best GaleClan cat I can be.”

Swiftpaw In camp, open Swiftpaw was resting in camp in a sun warmed boulder, she had had a hard training session earlier and relished the opportunity to lie down and rest. She opened her eyes to slits and watched the other cat's activity around the camp. Swiftpaw was tired, but her never ending energy made her bored with just lying around, she decided to head off to the fresh-kill pile to get something to eat.

Shadowstep • Tom • FighterLocation: Warrior's Den with VioletbloomDark The black tom could really only hope Palewhisker's outburst was simply a onetime thing, drawn out by the tragedy that had befallen the clan the day before. In that regard, perhaps he could have been more sympathetic towards her when she approached him, a mistake on his part to be sure. Compsure was the better half of a warrior's disposition, but the warrior had been young, still foolish and impulsive. Shadowstep would make note of that in the future.
"Everything will likely calm down in a few days. If Mossclan is responsible for the border incident, then we'll all have a common enemy. Not the best way to unite Galeclan but... such things tend to do so." He explained, though he hardly believed this would bring much relief to himself. He'd given up all links to Mossclan, but many in Galeclan still saw him as simply as the Mossclan traitor and he was more likely to believe they'd be more hostile towards him than less if it came to war between clans. "Greystar will probably deal with the situation if it becomes too much of an issue. After all, it's his choice to allow loners and the like. It's practically direct opposition to the leader to deny our right to be here." Featherpaw • She-cat • Medicine Cat's ApprenticeLocation: Galeclan Camp with Crowpaw, Thornpaw & FirepawJunospower petalblizzard Featherpaw took the opportunity to take another mouthful of her meal, though she suddely felt an acute lack of appetite. Thornpaw may have meant well, but the Medicine Cat's apprentice couldn't help but worry over her impulsive thought process. "I don't think it's our place as apprentices to hold Palewhisker to anything... Everyone saw how she acted, I think that'll be enough." She replied softly as she sought to calm her own nerves after Thornpaw's supposed misunderstanding. "Given her nature, I assume the humiliation is its own punishment in a sense." The pale ginger cat couldn't say she knew Palewhisker closely by any means, but everyone was aware she tried way too hard as a warrior -- She'd heard more than enough complaints to verify that. To be humiliated so wholly in front of the whole clan was bound to take the wind from her sails so to speak.
"I agree with Crowpaw, though. The best we can do is stay out of her way and and go about our training normally. If we happen to see something odd, we can make note of it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to ruffle her fur." Featherpaw added before pushing what remained of her shared meal towards Firepaw in a signal she'd finished. Lifting her paw, she began to give herself a quick wash with a few sweeping motions over her head. "Mind you, if she starts doing anything really weird, I wouldn't mind knowing what it was." she added rather nonchalantly, though hinting she might just give Thornpaw the time of day if there was a little more evidence to speak of. Firepaw • Tom • Apprentice Location: Galeclan Camp with Crowpaw, Thornpaw & Featherpaw
Firepaw didn't fully relax even with Thornpaw's apology, but he did lay his fur flat, though he couldn't help but find the way Thornpaw spoke rather weird. Not that it was something he was going to think too hard about, observations and all. "The warrior code says we probably shouldn't get ourselves stuck as apprentices forever because we're upset over a cat being mean." he retorted pointedly with a snort, "Or, Starclan forbid, kicked out of the clan all together." He wasn't so aggressive against non-clan cats as Palewhisker by any means, but he couldn't say he wholly blamed her for her opinion on the matter. There were quite a few non-clanborn cats in the clan, and though he didn't think they deserved to be cast out, it was odd how large that population had become. He'd never doubt Greystar's choices, but it made him wonder sometimes.
"I hate to admit it, but Crowpaw and Featherpaw had the right of it here. We really should just focus on our training and try not to make ripples in still water." he explained, although he thwapped Featherpaw with his tail at her last comment with an annoyed glance. Thornpaw hardly needed the encouragement. Regardless, with the remnants of his and Featherpaw's meal now all his, he gobbled down what scraps remained to finish off his hunger and joined the paler ginger in a wash before they were to be called for burial duties.

Crowpaw - GaleClan Camp with the other apprentices - Little meow meow Crowpaw had long finished his meal and he too began to wash. It was good to see that they were mostly in agreement and he silently agreed with Featherpaw, nodding along with her words, should Palewhisker cause any alarm, he would want to know too. “By the way, where we’re you during the beginning of the vigil, Firepaw?” the dark gray tom asked, looking up from his wash. It was phrase curiously, he had noticed the ginger tom’s absence in the beginning but hadn’t pay too much attention during the the big fight.

Violetbloom w/ Shadowstep- Little meow meow Hoping that Shadowstep was correct about his assumption, Violetbloom sighed. Being one of the younger warriors, getting involved wouldn't help the situation much. She could only hope that things would calm down like the tom had said. After all, she didn't want to be cast out from the clan- which was unlikely as of now, considering that Greystar was a fair leader- but she still wondered if Palewhisker would go that far as to persuade him to get rid of any non-clanborn cats. Trying to shake things off she said, "Hopefully you're right, as long as Greystar is leader we'll be fine." The truth was, saying those words aloud only made her question it more.

(Excited to have you back, Blu! I'm trying to get caught up myself. With the way my work schedule is set up, I'm usually on a lot for a few days in a row, then can't touch the forums at all for a few. But I should be here for a good portion of this week! Also super jealous of the hiking, you're going to inspire me to go out! There are a lot of good areas around where I live, I need to take better advantage of them.
Give me a moment and I'll get replies for Haretooth and Palewhisker up! )
Thorneyes
In Camp With Ivyspot, Dark ; and Mothpaw, blu Thorneyes could feel his claws slide silently into the ground. Though he wasn't sure if Mossclan had caused this chaos, he couldn't help but feel somewhat antagonistic towards them at this time. Not only did they have several clanmates dead, but they also had this new tense internal turmoil, and the only group that made logistical sense in his head to blame was their adjacent clan. He hoped whatever Greystar was planning to say at the gathering would be enough to shut down whatever Mossclan had been planning, bring justice to his fellow clanmates, and ensure peace for the future. But he knew that was a tall order. He stood and stretched, letting the weight of those thoughts fall off of him. Clan life had to go on, one way or another. "Well, I think I may go see if I can spot Mothpaw around somewhere. I figure some training would be good to get her mind off of things." He glanced around camp, looking for his apprentice. He gave a nod to Ivyspot. "Thanks for the conversation." He mewed genuinely. Though the topic had strayed into more difficult points of conversation, he did appreciate getting to speak with his fellow clanmate.

Haretooth At the Sunning Stones With Gorseleap, 🐦silvermoon2🐦 ; Haretooth purred at the young cat's enthusiasm as they reached the Sunning Stones. The day was pleasant enough- Newleaf was showing it's beginning, as if it didn't realize the tragedy the cats of Galeclan were enduring. "Time goes by so quickly, doesn't it?" She mewed. "Soon enough you'll have an apprentice of your own, and you'll be chasing your own tail trying to keep up with them!" She settled on a rock and looked across the landscape around her, memories flooding her mind of her own time as a tracker. She had stayed an active warrior as long as she was able, before she finally had to conceded to eldership when she noticed her hearing was not as good as it once was. She thought about the current clan trackers, feeling pride that she had mentored one or two of them. They were serving their clan well. She basked in the sun a moment, letting the rays momentarily dull her sorrow, when her nose twitched. A scent had come to her. She looked over and noticed a small mouse peeping between the rocks. A bold one, aren't you? She thought. Though she figured the young hunter had already spotted the prey, she still signaled Gorseleap and pointed with her ears towards where the mouse was.
Palewhisker Hunting Patrol With Nettlefang, blu ;
Palewhisker felt a thrill stirring in her paws at Nettlefang's words. Though she would have loved to hear similar sentiments from an older and higher ranking warrior, she took approval where she could find it. All bitterness the tom was showing towards Greystar and Reedwing was easily glossed over by Palewhisker, who had no dark intentions herself beyond proving Shadowstep's guilt, and who could easily assume Nettlefang was driven by a similar concern for their clan. Instead, her mind focused on his final charge, that a cat such as herself was needed to bring about a revival in her clan. This aligned so similarly to her own thought process, she could see nothing but truth in it. Her clan needed change. The more outsiders they let in, the more vulnerable they were. What was a clan, if not cats of similar heritage coming together for a common purpose? Outsiders could never truly know what it was like to have that beautiful heritage, and therefore couldn't be trusted. Palewhisker likewise didn't shirk at the idea of war- whether externally with Mossclan or internally to drive out the cats she felt held the most guilt. It wasn't personal in her mind- well, once more, besides Shadowstep- it was just a matter of clan safety. They could drive out the non-clanborn camp far beyond their territory- the mountains, perhaps- and Galeclan would be all the stronger for it. And moreso than that, she firmly believed Starclan would reward such efforts with a blooming new era full of bountiful prey and kits to make up for the loss. Surely Starclan would be behind them in any such endeavors. With renewed purpose, she turned to Nettlefang. "Keep your eyes and ears out then, and let me know if you think of anything. I'll be listening around to see if I can find other cats who agree with us. With enough support and evidence, Greystar would have to see sense." Her mind was still on the path of proving to Greystar that they were correct in their assumptions towards the outsiders. If she was convincing enough, he might even consider her an appropriate deputy replacement over any older cats, despite her lack of apprentice. She had still missed the point of overthrowing their leader altogether, loyal as she was to him. She had caught some of the insinuation, enough to give her excitement over the possibility of leading her clan in the future, but whether through naivety or an unconscious refusal to see the violence in Nettlefang's path, her mind was leaving those sort of future details hazy and ill thought-out. "I would start with Shadowstep. He was on the patrol earlier, and was one of the only cats to survive. With Mossclan scent all over those bodies, it makes perfect sense that he lead them into a trap, and they let him live because he's secretly working on the inside here." She bristled with open animosity towards their fellow warrior. He was a murderer in her mind, and her ears pinned to her head with hatred towards him. "I already tried to confront him, but he stonewalled me. If we could just get evidence on him, then Greystar would see the danger the clan is in."
(Also I love the 'somewhere in time and space' title and Nettlefang despising the way Palewhisker 'kissed the ground Greystar walked on' lol, very accurate. And I forgot about Greystar being Nettlefang's father, I love it!
If LMM has any suggestions, that would be great! Even before this convo, I was thinking Palewhisker might already try to sabotage Shadowstep by finding some sort of 'evidence' against him, even if she had to delude herself to do it lol. I mean, she literally said something like "I'll get youuuuu" to him hahhaha. I was thinking she'd try to set some sort of trap for him where he could possibly make a bad decision, or get too chummy with a Mossclan cat and she 'catch him' with Greystar, or even she maybe plants some evidence in his nest or something because she's unable to catch him in the act of anything and is so convinced she's right she's trying to speed up the accusations. And if she wasn't pinning her entire stance on hating outsiders, it would be cool to pull a Tigerstar and even align with rogues or other outsiders to drive of the outsiders within their camp lol. But she wouldn't go for that. So maybe just internal sabotage. Whatever LMM would be cool with! I'm also more than happy to try to trick or plant evidence on any of the other outsiders besides Shadowstep, though fair warning Palewhisker will be a little more hesitant to do so I believe with the apprentices or cats that have generally more favorable dispositions. I have no actual idea where her character is going at this point, I'm just rolling with the flow and reacting how I think she naturally would. But who knows, Nettlefang may be able to convince her to go past the point of no return with something! But probably not, idk, I think I might still have her be a good kitty in the end, not set in stone tho. )

At least that had brought an end to a worrisome conversation that Firepaw had no interest in encouraging. With everything else and their looming punishments, he hardly wanted to contend with unwise suspicions and behaviors on top of it all. However, he seemed to tense once more when his whereabouts came up, shooting a look at the dark colored cat. "With my mother." he stated sharply with a snort as if offended that Crowpaw would nose about his business.
After all, despite being absent, he'd still joined the vigil when he'd concluded his business and hardly felt it was any of the other cat's business. "Or are we going to start throwing random accusations at me too? Is speaking with my mother a crime?" he added heatedly as his tail lashed behind him, eyes narrowed as he stared down the dark grey cat. Shadowstep • Tom • FighterLocation: Warrior's Den with VioletbloomDark Shadowstep wished he could more certainly judge Palewhisker's character, though he hoped her loyalty to the clan and the code would keep her on the right path. He'd seen too many promising warriors lose their way to clouded judgement and wild ambition. Perhaps it was a naive hope that none of those in Galeclan would go to deceitful lengths to get what they wanted that assured Shadowstep. So long as Greystar lived, they were safe -- he hoped. Reedwing was also fair despite her inexperience. "None but Starclan can ever be certain. I've never made it my business to question their will." he paused, stretching out his legs, "What will be, will be... but I do hope calmer days are on the horizon." (( Do what you guys like/everyone else is comfortable with I'm just here to observe and play my characters, as long as ya'll don't actually get EVERYONE feckin exiled then its fine LOL I can also retcon anything that needs to be retconned along the way/make it more difficult for them to succeed if I need to. Such as Amberleaf probably having taken evidence from the bodies and such that he didn't see as necessary to bring forward under the circumstances, other cats with an alibi for other cats and so on. Only when it's required of course. ))
