Thornhawk Galeclan Camp The tom sat a bit distanced from everyone, still struggling with grasping the reality of what had happened. Grief had overwhelmed him, and he felt himself growing rather weary. He heard a familiar voice that brought him back to the present, and he took in the sight of Cherryfall. She had a beautiful smile spread across her face like she usually did, and she padded over to him in a confident manner. He had always admired the way she carried herself. "Feeling alright?" She purred, taking a seat next to him. "A little blue." Thornhawk said, attempting to chuckle a bit. "Let me cheer you up." She offered, still smiling at him. "What do you have in mind?" The tom inquired. Cherryfall thought for a moment, dropping her head to her feet. "A hunting trip!" She exclaimed rather brilliantly. Thornhawk nodded. |

Haretooth stiffed for a moment, shocked by her daughter's return of affection, but soon relaxed, a low purr beginning to rumble in her throat. She supposed their little family, or what remained of it, needed each other today.
Thorneyes -- Finding a Burial Place in the Moorlands -- With Hyliaecho, daydreams
"You don't have to apologize. I... I get it." Thorneyes said, sighing. He and his sister had always been thick as thieves, though their personalities were wildly different. The general dislike towards her today therefore almost felt like condemnation to him as well. And perhaps it would make sense, considering the frequency that he and Palewhisker hung out together that others would sour a little to him as well. "I think everyone has just had a really rough day..." He knew the words were a lame excuse for Palewhisker's actions, but once more, he couldn't help but trying to smooth things over on her behalf, hoping perhaps the she-cat could find some spot in her heart to give Palewhisker grace... though with Hyliaecho's background, he didn't much expect it. "And also, Hyliaecho, I hope you know that... that I don't have any problem with you, either. Or any non-clanborn cat. I don't know what made her say that." He meant his words- he truthfully didn't understand his sister's prejudice. With his happy-go-lucky personality, he never cared to question a cat's history, being instead more concerned with whether they were any fun to hang out with in the present. Honestly, until today, he hadn't really given much thought to any of his clanmates' backgrounds at all and was surprised to hear that not only had Palewhisker been thinking about it, but harboring resentment over it. He continued trotting along with Hyliaecho, lost in thought, as they gained some distance from camp, and soon spotted a nice area close to the heather beds. The sway of the purple flowers in the distance made a beautiful backdrop for any cat who would come in the future to mourn. "Do you think this spot works?" He mewed, his natural tendency as a follower deferring to Hyliaecho's judgement. |

(my replies might be slow over the next week as well cause i’m hiking in Scotland  If i miss anything feel free to move my characters along, and i’ll try my best to reply for the gathering! super excited to bring Nettlefang to that that! also I’m putting a pin in the rp with Mothpaw and Angeloniapaw for the moment until i have a bit more time again) Nettlefang (with Palewhisker, territory) bluewonder Nettlefang waited patiently as Coyoteflame trotted away, noticing the suppressed anger coming off of Palewhisker and the arrogant confidence coming off the hunter. Once the flame coloured warrior had disappeared, Nettlefang turned to his companion as she started to speak. Surprised at Palewhisker’s bitterness, he mewed coolly as ever, ‘I couldn’t agree more with what you said.’ Perhaps the she-cat was not as intelligent or intuitive as he had thought… nevermind. That didn’t matter. It just meant it would be that much easier to manipulate her to follow his plans. They had the same goals after all. ‘Outsiders are rotting Galeclan from the inside, and Reedwing and Greystar are allowing it to happen without a second thought. This is not the way Starclan intended us to live.’ he replied with flaming eyes, blending Thistleheart’s words with his own as he remembered the positive reaction Palewhisker had had to the warriors earlier support. ‘If you ask me, it’s you that should be deputy, not that mindless excuse for a warrior that Greystar seems to think is suitable.’ |

Firepaw • Tom • ApprenticeLocation: Camp Clearing with Wisteriaflower & Mournersdaydreams Firepaw nodded, in slightly higher spirits than a moment ago, though he still regarded the situation below somberly as one would. With the nudge, he carefully slipped about halfway down the ledge before safely leaping back to the ground below, paws sinking slightly though harmlessly into the soft earth below that cushioned the drop.
Anxiety returned so close to the dead, but the young ginger did his best to remain calmer on the outside than he did on the inside and approched the herb-scented bodies. The scent was calming and perhaps with it's presence, the young tom could disassociate the corpses with his clanmates, something that seemed to ease his tension as he paid respects, gently touching each with his nose in farewell before glancing back at his mother quietly. |

(( Okay, so basically... After we skip to the next day, given that like at least half of our group here is going to be busy and such ( which, ya know, good luck with work and happy vacations and all  ), I may settle in our break sooner than expected so that when we do the gathering most of us are around. I'm thinking a week might be good, generally gives our folks irl time not to worry about anything big happening but also leaves time for everyone to kind of exist, deal with current emotions, ect IC. I imagine tension will still be high for a bit with all the kitties, but there will be more for folks to do amongst each other with the bodies all buried and stuff. Normal clan life to deal with, and processing emotions, it could even be better for the gathering if there's been a little bit of time for characters to settle into their long-term feelings on what happened. Bonus for petalblizzard is she'll actually get the chance to settle in and make her character known before the gathering AND Greystar will have the time to assemble the cat he wants at the gathering with him. )) |

(( My suggestion, Hawky, is dependent on how Greystar wants to go into the gathering on an atmospheric level as well as balancing how many cats people are roleplaying there at once.
Does he want to be prepared for possible (though unlikely) physical altercation/threatening Intimidation? If so, I'd assume he'd want more Fighters with him and less apprentices/elders in general. However, the draw back of this being that it may be seen as threatening which could be brought up if he tries to pass his inquiry off as anything other than absolute accusation.
If he very specifically doesn't want his own clan members getting rowdy, I imagine he'd want members unrelated to the incident to join him or those that haven't had significant outbursts in recent days -- however, this option is bound to upset those who want answers for dead family members, CoughHaretoothCough, as well as warriors who might feel unfairly targetted for being upset their clanmates were killed.
If he specifically wants to bring those who want answers, then family members, friends, and apprentices of the dead cats are a good starting point, but some are also bound to have some negative reactions regardless of Mossclan's answer. Particularly those who firmly believe it was Mossclan.
If he's not intending to make a statement to either Mossclan or his own clan, then the options are endless. This is all theoretical though, you dont really have to put more thought into and can just ask like all our roleplayers which of their characters they want or don't want there LOL ))

(May end up being a mix of cats and ranks. Nettlefang will come but maybe not Palewhisker cause of her outburst. We shall see! Maybe when we do the time skip, I can have Greystar keeping an eye on certain cats and getting a feel for who would be the best fit for the gathering)

((Good idea! To keep things manageable, and help with selection, OOC wise I would personally only have someone rp up to 2 of their characters per clan at the gathering. Ultimately, it's up to you and the RPers in question, but I wouldn't want anyone to get overwhelmed since some of us also have Mossclan cats to rp -- ill be mentioning the same thing to Jademist too )) |

Ivyspot padded into the camp, just coming back from a successful hunt. He was holding a plump rabbit in his jaws and headed over to the fresh-kill pile, where he placed it on the top. Looks like prey is plentiful this season. He smiled at that thought. It meant the clan would be well-fed.

(sorry for the poof, work has been busy. I usually have a busy stretch at least once a month, and I will likely be unavailable the beginning of this next week too, so sorry! After that, it should clear up!  I'm more than okay with the time change! Palewhisker's eyes shot up to meet her fellow fighter's round with shock at his bold agreement to her words. She certainly wasn't expecting such an open disdain for the outside cats... but of course, she herself had said more today about them than she ever had in the past. Perhaps there were more cats than she originally thought that felt the same. And more shocking still were the younger tom's final words. "Y-you think I should be deputy?" She stammered out, feeling slightly flustered. Her whole life she felt she was trying to prove herself to her clan- that she was the strongest fighter, a decent hunter when needed, and a keen mind. Whatever she had to prove, she tried to prove it. Despite her efforts, however, she never felt like the clan truly had warmed to her and respected her. Perhaps it was her ambitions that made others keep her at a paws length. It was a lonely road sometimes, the path to power, but she felt it would be worth it in the end, should she become leader one day. She would be the best leader the clan had seen, and lead it into a powerful golden age. But the cats of Galeclan often... well, they still treated her like a... normal young warrior. Very rarely did anyone comment anything so affirming as this. She paused, mulling over his words, then gave a small shake of her head. "No... I haven't even had my own apprentice yet. And Reedwing isn't bad. I think she tries to do what she thinks is right, but she just doesn't understand how detrimental the outsiders are. Same for Greystar." She sighed, feeling a confusion over the subject she had felt before. "I just don't understand how they can be okay with it though. Like you said, Starclan obviously has rules against outsiders in our clan. If we keep blatantly disobeying them, it's only a matter of time until our clan crumbles, either from an act of Starclan themselves or just our own supposed 'clanmates' turning on us." Her eyes turned dark, thinking of her earlier skirmish with Shadowstep. She lowered her voice to a murmur, in case the hunters were around to hear. "I can't think of any way to make them change their minds, other than trying to catch one of the outsiders in the act of proving their disloyalty. But... that's easier said than done."

Thorneyes had also been heading towards the freshkill pile, searching for a small piece he could take for himself. Ordinarily, he would share a piece with his sister, but... they still hadn't quite recovered their normal back-and-forth after her outburst earlier. He let himself be distracted by Ivyspot's arrival. Too many weighty matters had happened recently, and he was ready to move on with the fresh new day. "Nice catch!" He called to the tom as he approached the pile. "Too large for me, but I'm sure one of the queens will be more than happy to see it!" He grabbed a small finch for himself and stalled for a moment, eager to have someone to talk to. "Thank you, by the way, for doing my job for me. Keep catching things like that and no hunter will have to go out for a week!" (Haretooth is also free should anyone wants to RP with her!) |

Gorseleap(in GaleClan Camp, open)
Gorsleap twitched her tail in discomfort as she sad near the edge of the camp, she had remained pretty quiet during her and Palewhisker's confrontation of Shadowstep earlier that day, seeing as she had been quite nervous about the whole thing and thought that Palewhisker had said all that needed to be said. Despite her silence, she still didn't trust Shadowstep and agreed with Palewhisker, but she didn't want to make enemies within the Clan. Especially if he is guilty, she thought with a shiver. What he might be capable of, she didn't know, but she didn't want to find out firsthand. She tried to push away her troubled thoughts, maybe Shadowstep was nothing but a loyal GaleClan warrior,she just wished she could be sure of that.
