Palewhisker -- Heading towards the Camp exit -- With Greystar, @hawkeyes258 ; Nettlefang, blu ; Coyoteflame, daydreams ;
Palewhisker heard her leader's words about respect as he shouted them out, and she hoped desperately it wasn't directed towards her. She knew that Greystar felt differently about outsiders than she did. Hopefully, if she is able to bring justice to the situation with Shadowstep, Greystar would crack down on all the non-clanborn cats... maybe not exiling them all, but at the very least proving their loyalty by giving them some extra vigorous trials. She briefly imagined herself becoming deputy, and then one day leader. That's what I would do. She thought to herself. She had some hesitations about leaving camp with Shadowstep still inside, but wouldn't disobey a direct order from the remaining deputy. Besides, she knew Gorseleap could warn Greystar if needed. The patrol would need more than her own skills as fighter to protect it, especially when they didn't know what was waiting for them in the forest. "Nettlefang?" she called out, looking for her fellow fighter. "and... Coyoteflame... Let's head out. "(Lets just pretend some fellow hunters are also on this patrol, idk who would be open for it. I also am more than okay with lavarataspaw being on the patrol too, but just didn't want it to seem bogged down with fighters, so I'll leave it up to you all. Gonna reply with my others once I'm done with some chores!)

(I've retired Reedwing for the time being cause I feel like she deserves a rest after all that But if anyone wants to interact with her just lmk!) Mothpaw (apprentice den with Angeloniapaw) daydreams Mothpaw closed her eyes in appreciation as the apprentice rested his tail on her pelt. She wasn't one to know what to say in difficult times, and so was content with simply sitting next to the tom for the time being. She'd go out and sit vigil later when everything had calmed down a bit and she could say her goodbyes in peace. As if on cue with Angeloniapaw's words, a yowl broke out from in the clearing. It was the voice of Reedwing, as angry as Mothpaw had ever heard her. She shuddered at the thought of the clan's growing distrust of outsiders, knowing that her past as a non-clanborn cat put her in a difficult position. She'd never known any other way of life and felt as clan-born as the next cat, but evidently that wasn't enough for some... 'Do you think Greystar will exile all the non-clanborn cats because of this?' the she-cat asked sadly, almost already accepting the fact that she would have to leave her family. Nettlefang (with Palewhisker, Coyoteflame: hunting patrol) bluewonder daydreams Nettlefang regarded Palewhisker as she called out to him for the patrol. He'd been watching the scene play out from a relatively hidden spot at the edge of camp, and had shown no sign of stepping in to Palewhisker's aid. Of course he agreed with the warrior - how could he not! What with the sacred blood of his Clan becoming muddied by so many outsiders, who had no place among them. (MUD-BLOODS!) He wanted nothing more than to chase those rogue-born, flea-ridden excuses for warriors out of the territory and give them a good beating while he was at it, but he also knew that everything had its time and place. The she-cat's hostility had been poorly timed and poorly executed, and had a lack of seriousness behind it. Padding deliberatly to meet Palewhisker at the camp entrance, the Tom kept his mouth shut. He'd speak to Palewhisker once they'd left camp and couldn't be overheard.

(I get off work at 11, so I'll write my replies up them! Poor Coyoteflame is going to feel so uncomfortable being on a hunting patrol with both Palewhisker and Nettlefang since she's half-outsider and they both despise them lol)

✸✸❣✸✸
There were certain parts of Wisteriaflower's history that she regretted immensely, and the guilt followed her everywhere that she went. However, despite her regrets, she would do it all over again if it meant she would be where she was today. She had many secrets, most of which she wasn't proud of, and she planned on taking each and every one of them to the grave with her. Not only could they ruin her own reputation, but she feared they could come to harm her children, or cause them to look at her differently. She loved them both so dearly, and couldn't stand the idea that they may see her in a different light if they knew the things that their mother had done.
The ginger molly hesitated. While she wanted to be truthful with her son - she never wanted to lie to them intentionally - the words got caught in her throat. Her tail flicked with anxiety as she looked down at her son. "It's hard to tell if I knew him or not," she answered slowly and vaguely. "He clearly knows who I am, yet without a name, I can't say for sure weather I knew him or not." mothpaw {blu } // apprentices' den ✸✸❣✸✸
Angeloniapaw knew that he would eventually have to go out and pay his respects to the dead, but he dreaded the idea of it. While he didn't like the numb feeling that invaded his chest, he found that it was much better than the sadness he was sure to feel. Though no one he held dear to him had been part of the deceased, he still had immense respect for the clan members that had lost their lives today. the grey and white tom also dreaded the idea of being suffocated by the many emotions that were surely going around. Anger, sadness, distrust. He was certain that each of these emotions were high.
The apprentice blocked out the conversation taking place outside. He didn't mind outsiders. They were all the same down to their very core to Angeloniapaw. His attention turned down to Mothpaw at her inquiry. He hesitated. He couldn't say for sure what the future held for the clan at the moment. "I don't believe so," he said after a short moment of silence. "That's a lot of cats that would be exiled. Crowpaw, Hyliaecho and you to name just a few." The apprentice pondered on his thoughts for a moment. "But then what about those that are from Mossclan originally, such as Shadowstep, or those who have one parent in the other clan like Honeysucklepaw? Or those that are half outsider like Coyoteflame? And only Starclan knows who fathered Firepaw and Featherpaw. Their father could easily be an outsider. Would Greystar exile them for that? Wisteriaflower would have a heart attack." He cut his rant off short, realizing he was merely rambling on. "All we can do is wait and see, I guess. But there are plently of us who will fight for you all to stay, including myself."
✸✸❣✸✸
The dark brown molly had been sitting vigil, mourning the loss of their clanmates, when the heated argument had broken out between Palewhisker, Featherpaw, Crowpaw and Hyliaecho. Her fur had pricked at the idea of judgement when it came to being an outsider. Coyoteflame, herself, was in no way a Galeclan cat by blood. Her mother was an unknown rogue while her father was a Mossclan warrior. She held no relations in Galeclan other than her half-siblings. However, even they had some connection to Galeclan by their mothers. Despite the blood that ran through her veins, Coyoteflame was just as much a loyal member of the clan as Palewhisker was, though the young warrior wouldn't stand up to the other molly in regards to it.
The hunter's head snapped up as her name was called by Palewhisker herself. The molly hesitated a moment before she slowly rose to her feet and padded after to other two warriors, keeping a tail lengths distance between them and herself. Unease pricked at her skin, a feeling she wasn't all too familiar with. ✸✸❣✸✸
a sneer marred the pretty feline's face. She had merely come to the defense of an apprentice who was being bullied by a much older cat, and yet she was being chastised and punished, being forced to dig the burial site for the deceased. "The will of Starclan, my tail fur," the warrior mocked quietly to herself. Though she wasn't often verbal on her beliefs, it also wasn't a secret that she didn't share the same ones as the rest of her clanmates. Turning around, she dropped to the ground next to the two apprentices' on her rump. Though she felt uncomfortable so close to the bodies, she didn't make a move to back away.

Palewhisker -- Leaving Galeclan Camp -- With Nettlefang, blu ; and Coyoteflame, daydreams
Palewhisker watched as the chosen cats gathered, then wordlessly pushed through the entrance out into the surrounding moorlands. She made sure that her body language was bold and confident, taking the role as the leader of the patrol as Reedwing had said. She didn't want to deal with any more disrespect towards herself today. She glanced back at Coyoteflame. Typically, she wouldn't have chosen such a cat after an argument like that, but this was a hunting patrol after all, so they needed some dedicated hunters. Unfortunately, the clan was becoming so tainted with outsiders, pureblooded cats were becoming harder to come by. Further, she was hoping that by including the she-cat, she might show Reedwing that she was willing to submit to her wishes... for now. If I was deputy, I'd be doing things differently... She thought once more to herself. She lead her group towards the mousefields, hoping for some easy prey as leaf bare came to a close. "Here." She stated, once they arrived. She took a few steps forward, sniffing and tasting the air. She didn't want to scare off any potential prey, but the recent attacks had her on edge. Turning to Coyoteflame and Nettlefang, she ordered, "Nettlefang and I will keep watch from here. We'll give you space to hunt, we may hunt a bit ourselves, should the opportunity arise but come back to this spot at any sign or scent of danger, understand?"

Thorneyes -- Galeclan Camp -- with Crowpaw, Junospower ; Featherpaw, Little meow meow ; and Hyliaecho, daydreams
Thorneyes nodded a farewell to Birchheart as he left to sit vigil for his sibling and clanmates. His amber eyes were still trained on the exit of camp where his sister had left. What had ruffled her fur so badly? He thought. Obviously, the death of so many clanmates was enough to shake any cat's emotions to a degree, but Thorneyes had never heard her be malicious like that. Maybe there were aspects of his sister's personality that he never bothered to see... Thorneyes looked once more to the apprentices and warrior that his sister had berated. "I can help with the... you know. The graves, if you'd like." he started quietly, his offer mostly to Hyliaecho. After a heartbeat, he addressed the apprentices as well. "I'm... I'm sorry about Palewhisker. She's... Not usually like this." He knew the words offered little after a display such as that, but he couldn't help but say them. He loved Palewhisker deeply, and it hurt to see her behave so badly in front of her clan.
Haretooth -- Galeclan Camp -- With Birchheart, Little meow meow
The elder looked up from her vigil once more, noticing her only remaining son draw close to pay his respects. She watched him from beneath her long calico fur, feeling a wave of emotion for him. Soon, she would be with Starclan herself, leaving Birchheart and Sandstrike behind. Her son didn't have a mate to speak of, as far as she knew. She hoped desperately that the familial ties between he and his sister would be enough to get him through when it was her turn to pass. She edged slightly closer to him, but didn't want to interrupt his personal vigil.

Featherpaw • She-cat • Medicine Cat's Apprentice Location: Camp Clearing with so many cats Unable to do more, Featherpaw settled back down beside the fallen cats, but in the moment she flicked her long fluffy tail against Crowpaw in silent comfort. She felt, in some part responsible for bad reception today, though she knew the predjudice from those of Galeclan were inevitable. She had no doubts even if Crowpaw had a spotless record he would feel the ire of certain clanmates, though it hardly helped that such a massacre occured during his earliest days in the clan. She did hoped he would be able to find some peace in clan life with time, though, and that this introduction to their ways wouldn't sully the whole experience for the young tom.
She flashed Hyliaecho a grateful glance, there was no disguising her flinch at the brazen disrespect towards starclan that the warrior had expressed. Sure, she hardly believed Thistleheart the right to claim This as Starclan's punishment, but a firm believe in starclan herself for obvious reasons... well, it was hard not to feel some type of way about the lack of belief. She certainly had much and more to learn from Amberleaf about handling the different ways everyone though. Regardless, she'd been in enough trouble today and she didn't feel she had the right to go after a clan mate about their way of thinking, especially since Hyliaecho was otherwise a fine warrior in her own right.
Birchheart • Tom • Fighter Location: Camp Clearing with so many cats With the disruptions seemingly dealt with, for the time being at any rate, the large form of Birchheart glance wearily down at the corpse of his brother somberly and, once his nerve was steeled, he laid himself beside the long cold form. Smoothing down Robinflame's fur, torn and ruffled by battle and winds, he would soon glance up at his mother just nearby before settling his head softly on the red-furred body of his brother, offering the slightest sign he was grateful for the old cat's company in this mutual moment of grief. May Starclan honor you , my brother... and may Liontail be there to greet you... He offered the silent prayer to Starclan, though he hardly felt as comforted by the words as he would have liked and felt more alone than ever in the after math of the loss. It was Just Haretooth, himself, and Sandstrike now... The large tom could hardly magine how the others were feeling, though Haretooths display earlier that day seemed all the more justified and telling at that. Her grief had to be greater than any other. Galeclan had been enduring it's own bad luck in previous seasons, in just bordering on a year they'd lost several cats to murder unusual murder schemes. From the murder of Rainstorm to now two cases of death on border patrols... each claiming one of Haretooth's own children, it was so odd. Although he didn't agree with Thistleheart's assumptions, on why Starclan would punish them, he almost wondered if it was a punishment from starclan in some regard.
Lifting his head to glance towards the she-cat that had just before defended the apprentice, Birchheart regarded her with a sympathy that spoke of the possibility he had caught her discomfort, "Hyliaecho, You can leave me to take the apprentices to dig the burial sites come morning. I'm sure Reedwing meant no ill-will and will understand." he explained softly, perhaps simply wanting to be among those to care for the fallen bodies, if only for the sake of himself and his own famillies peace of mind. He couldn't protect Roblinflame in life and, though he trusted his clanmates to take care of him in death, he felt a duty to do so himself. It was the least he could dofor his brother. He paused, however, as Thorneyes approached to offer aid as well, eyes softening with a silent sense of gratitude, "Although, I would not mind aid in such an endeavor either."
Firepaw • Tom • ApprenticeLocation: Camp Ledge with Wisteriaflowerdaydreams Firepaw felt a prickle of discomfort in his paws as Wisteriaflower's anxiety did not go wholly unnoticed, but among his disatisfaction at the response, his curiosity waned in lue of worry and he seemed willing to let the whirr of questions that plagued his mind die in his throat. He'd never known his mother to actively lie, let alone without purpose, and hoped it was only his overactive imagination that wanted to put answers to questions her behavior stirred up. Although one such question plagued him, a curiosity to if she'd meet with the cat, he knew he probably didn't want to know the answer, though he firmly told himself she would never meet with some weird loner.
Regardless of his disatisfaction to the question though, he moved forward to press his face against his mother's pelt in a silent bid for comfort against his anxiety fuelled nerves that seemed to now plague them both. He hardly wanted to return to the camp clearing to sit vigil with so many thoughts in his head but he knew all the procrastination and moping around couldn't put that off forever, and he'd onyl feel worse for not doing what he was told after his diobedience. Although the guilt from early continued to gnaw at his already frayed nerves well enough. "W-Well.. I should go start vigil.." he murmured softly, though his reluctance was not without it's presence, after all, he was not so good at hiding his feelings.
Amberleaf • Tom • Medicine Cat Location: Camp Clearing with so many cats
After all the chaos had settled, Amberleaf finally returned from his den with a small bundle of strongly scented herbs; Lavender, Rosemary, and Mint among them. Common herbs for suppressing the scent of death, among other things, and no less a comforting aroma for those that grieved. He would surely see to those who needed his attention the most as night fell upon them and grief became more difficult to bare, but this was, perhaps, the best he could do for them now. Dipping his head in respectful acknowledgement to those in the clearing sitting vigil, and making it known he would offer no disturbances to their mourning, the tom went about the morbid and joyless task of utilizing the herbs in his possession to scatter a far more pleasant aroma among the bodies.
Despite the misgivings he tended to perpetrate against himself in rumors, the ginger and white cat went about his duties with the deftness and skill of any clanborn Medicine Cat and it seemed as though he'd finished before he'd even started. With a deliberate pause, he glanced among the cats still mourning, though his eyes rested a moment longer on old Haretooth, before offering soft words, "If anyone has any need of me, don't hesitate to call." Both an assurance he was there for him mentally and physically, after all, he was not the type to abandon his clan even for his own laziness in their tiem of need. If there was nothing else, he would depart back into the Medicine Cat's den.

Sandstrike slowly makes her way over to where Robinflame's body lay. Much as she hated to, she needed to say her final goodbye while she still had a chance. Wordlessly, she kneels down beside Haretooth and touches her nose to Robinflame's body. I will avenge you brother don't you worry. No one will be taking Birchheart away from her.

Bristlethorn Galeclan Camp The she-cat was saddened and confused by all that had happened, and found herself sulking within the warrior's den. She couldn't go out and face anyone, and she felt sorry for Shadowstep. She had been thinking of the tom ever since, wondering how he was holding up. She tried to push her sorrow away, and curled up to go to sleep.

Nettlefang (with Palewhisker, Coyoteflame, territory) bluewonder daydreamsAs Nettlefang came to a stop beside Palewhisker, he fixed his cold eyes on the half-rouge hunter who'd trailed nervously behind them on their way there. During their walk into the territory, the silence between them had been charged with tension, making the few short minutes it had taken for them to reach the fields almost insufferable. The warrior's face remained stony as he waited for Coyoteflame to follow Palewhisker's directions and disappear out of earshot. Mothpaw (with Angeloniapaw, apprentice den) daydreamsMothpaw contemplated the words that had tumbled like water out of the apprentice's mouth. Grateful for her friend's words of comfort and support, she placed her head back onto his paws and allowed some moments of silence to pass between them. What he'd said made sense to her, and she ought to just let go of any lingering worries of being exiled... but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't help but feel a deep sense of dread when she thought of the future. 'Surely the upcoming gathering will sort things out,' she suggested eventually, naive in her belief that Mossclan would take responsibility for the attack, 'If they say they did it then the Clan will have to join together against them and they'll be too busy to think about the non-clanborn cats.'

Crowpaw - GaleClan Camp with pretty much everyone
After hearing what the remain cats in the camp clearing had to say to him, all of them kind words, he gave them a quick reply of gratefulness then forced his body to a more relaxed position. In between everyone talking, he had decided he was going to give cats like Palewhisker any more fuel and will act unfazed in public for now on. If they wanted a perfect warrior, he’ll give them a perfect warrior. No more causing arguement, no more mistakes. The feeling of a comforting tail against him, Crowpaw gave one more look of gratefulness and continued his vigil.
(This act trying to be perfect will have the added bonus of never admitting he’s not okay until he’s pretty much either having a break down or has collapsed. My poor, poor son)

Magpiewish (Warrior's Den, with Bristlethorn): Noticing that things had quieted down, Magpiewish rolled over, stretching out her lanky joints with a mrow of pleasure. She was glad to hear the commotion in the den had ceased. On a day like today she would rather spend her hours in the dirtplace than with such hateful cats harassing her peace. Still, there was nothing to be done about it and certainly nothing new about her clanmates being close-minded. Spotting Bristlethorn awake in the corner, she called out to her. "Psst! Pretending to be asleep too? Don't worry, I wont tell," she whispered mirthfully, her voice clear and light amongst the doom and gloom about camp.
Asterkit (Nursery, with Sycamoreheart): Snuggling closer to the comfort of her mother's soft chest fur, Asterkit whimpered quietly. "Mama, why are the cats fighting out there?," she asked, her blue eyes contorted with confusion. She couldn't exactly hear or understand everything being said, but there was so much hurt and anger outside the safety of the nursery walls today. Asterkit just didn't know how to handle her clanmates being so upset with each other. Weren't they all supposed to be friends?

palewhisker {bluewonder } nettlefang {blu } // galeclan hunting patrol ✸✸❣✸✸
The molly stood up straighter, she would not be afraid of the other two, despite their feelings toward her and other like her. She had earned her place within Galeclan and she would not let them make her feel like she was anything less than them. She was more than sure that the only reason the other molly had chosen her was so that no one would be believe that she had discriminated against another member of the clan. Something such as that could ruin her reputation. Coyoteflame merely rolled her eyes at Palewhisker's words as she trotted past the two warriors. She didn't like that she was the only hunter among the three of them, therefore the only one who would be doing any actual hunting.
✸✸❣✸✸
The fluffy molly turned her head to look at Thorneyes as he spoke to her. She was so furious with his sister that the worst parts of her wanted to snap at him. However, she knew it wasn't his fault and he didn't deserve her anger. Instead, she simply nodded, not trusting her mouth enough to open it and speak to him. It wasn't just Palewhisker that had gotten under her fur, but also the words of Thistleheart. Though she refused to have acknowledged him at the time, she couldn't shake his words just the same as the other warrior's. 'If Starclan is punishing them for outsiders, then what good are they in believing in?' She couldn't fathom why a group of cats would blindly follow a religion that would strike them down at any moment for any number of reasons.
Hyliaecho was startled from her thoughts by the voice of Birchheart. She looked up at the ginger warrior with absent eyes. She nodded her head slowly in thought. While she was very vocal about her own beliefs from time to time, she couldn't expect every cat to remember. "I would like to help find a burial site for them, simply out of respect for the lives lost." She would swallow her discomfort for the time being, though she highly appreciated the warrior in his attempt to let her off the hook. She rose to her paws quickly and backed up a few paces. "However, I do not believe I can sit here and will make my retreat." She turned to make her way towards the back of the camp, however before she took too many steps, she turned her attention backed to Birchheart. "I am sorry for the loss of your brother. Loosing a sibling is no easy feat," she whispered empathetically. "I hope that he...has a nice afterlife... in Starclan." ✸✸❣✸✸
Wisteriaflower wrapped her tail around her son, allowing him the comfort he sought. She knew that her son had a tendency to overthink, and she wanted nothing more than to quell the anxiety she was sure that he was feeling. "Do not worry, my lovely. Everything will be alright." While her own words felt like a lie to her own ears, she put as much confidence behind them as she could muster. She did not want Firepaw to think about the strange cat that had approach him. Wisteriaflower herself didn't even want to think about it. She didn't want to know who it was that had approached one of her kittens, though she knew exactly who it was that wished to see her. She had been greatly disloyal to her clan and clanmates before her kittens had come along, and the last thing she wanted was her past waltzing back into her life.
At her son reluctance, the warrior looked down over the ledge at the mourning group. "Let us go pay our respects. After that, maybe we could take a short walk before we retire for the night. How does that sound?" She wanted to do anything and everything to help Firepaw through such a hard time. "If your sister wishes, she can come with us. And if you wish, I can lay in the apprentices' den with you tonight?" While her offer was meant to comfort her son, it was also more so to comfort herself. To feel her kits close to her and prove to her frightened mind that they were indeed okay.
mothpaw {blu } // apprentices' den ✸✸❣✸✸
Angeloniapaw allowed silence to engulf them, simply finding comfort in the molly's presence. Though he had been rambling, he hoped that his words had brought Mothpaw some sort of reassurance and comfort, even if he wasn't very good with words. He had no doubt that she was sure to still feel worried, and he couldn't blame her in a clan full of cats who hated anyone who didn't fit the 'correct' mold. He looked down at her when she began speaking, nodding along with her words. "It would definitely keep everyone busy. Though if it really was Mossclan, I wonder what they plan to do?"
✸✸❣✸✸
The young queen laid inside the nursery, her body sprawled just in front of the entrance to ensure that neither of her kittens left her sight. She didn't want either of them to witness the sight in the middle of their camp. They were too young to be exposed to such horrors, and Sycamoreheart planned to keep them away from it for as long as she could. Hyraxkit lay in between the queen's paws, snuggled in her chest and fast asleep. She opened her eyes lazily and turned her gaze to look towards her daughter as she snuggled closer to her. "Sometimes cats have differences in opinions and they just need to work it out." It was the best that she could offer her daughter. She didn't want her to know about the discrimination against outsiders, and she hoped beyond hope that none of them held that same discrimination against her own kittens, both of which were fathered by a tom outside of Galeclan.

Gingertail Galeclan Camp The she-cat looked around at her fellow clanmates, most of them looking devastated and stricken with sorrow. She was worried about her kits, and kept them close to her. She was horrified by the events that had unfolded, and still a bit unsure of what had even happened. She tried to shake it from her mind, not wanting the dark thoughts to cloud her judgement at this time.

Haretooth -- Galeclan Camp -- With Sandstrike, @hawky258
Haretooth let the scent of Amberleaf's freshly placed lavender and other burial herbs invade her nostrils for just a moment. She wished she could soak in the smell of her son, Robinflame, but already his usual familiar scent was changing to that tell-tale acrid scent of death. She pushed her head into his pelt once more, feeling some sorrow in having to say goodbye to his scent, realizing she would have to say goodbye to his body soon too. "I'll see you again soon." She promised quietly. There was little comfort in the fact that, should she die, she would reunite with just as many kits in Starclan as she had still in Galeclan. She noticed her adopted daughter, Sandstrike, as she sat next to her. She leaned in to try to give her a comforting lick on the ear, hoping she didn't pull away. She always felt as though her bond with Sandstrike was more strained than her bond with her naturalborn children, though she tried to ensure all her kits felt her love evenly.
Thorneyes -- Galeclan Camp -- With Hyliaecho, daydreams ; and Birchheart, Little meow meow
Thorneyes watched as Hyliaecho got up and moved to the edge of camp, sorrow in his eyes as he watched her go. He had been hoping for more than silence to his reply, if only to ease his own heart that perhaps his clanmates forgave Palewhisker, but of course he understood when that was not forthcoming. "I'm going to go ahead and follow her to find an appropriate burial place. It's not good to be alone in the moorlands right now." He said with a respectful low tone to Birchheart. "You... take as long as you need. I'll show you the spot we find in the morning." He watched Birchheart for another moment, as if wanting to say more, then thought better of it. All the words that could be said to the mourning tom had been said, and words wouldn't bring his sibling back. Thorneyes turned and trailed after Hyliaecho dejectedly, tail dragging the ground unconsciously with the weight of this terrible day.
Palewhisker -- Hunting Patrol -- with Nettlefang, blu ; and Coyoteflame, daydreams
Palewhisker waited, whiskers twitching with the leftover aggravation of the day, as Coyoteflame trotted away from her. She felt as though she caught the backend of an eyeroll towards her words, and felt her fur bristle with anger, though she forced herself to calm down. Soon, a new deputy would have to be chosen, and Palewhisker had hoped since she was a kit that should the opportunity arise, she herself could be chosen for such a position. She didn't plan on a tragedy striking so early, though, and felt convinced that it would go to a more senior warrior, perhaps to offset Reedwing's youth. In her mind, she couldn't compete with the upperhand age would give a cat, and didn't anticipate being chosen based off that criteria alone. However, she did expect to be chosen the next time the deputyship came available, perhaps one day when Greystar died- though she wasn't rushing that by any means- and because of that, she knew she would have to do damage control for the ill-will she made herself today. She huffed. It wasn't fair, though, in her eyes, that she would have to suck up to non-clanborn cats in order to lead her clan one day. Surely she should never compromise her own beliefs for power. But the reality was that so many of their clan these days had outsider blood, and after today, each of them would probably cast their stones against her should she ever try for the deputy position. She sighed, letting go of the tension of her thoughts, and addressed Nettlefang. "I'm guessing you hate me for what I said too?" She asked darkly. She thought that perhaps she had caught a look of agreement from the tom at some moment, but at this point she wasn't sure. Her whole clan seemed to have bees in their brains.

(( lunapaw🐾 would you want to have Treewind be on the hunting patrol? I was trying to come up with cats earlier bc I feel like Palewhisker would have called more than one hunter, but I didn't know who was available. I'm sure Coyoteflame would appreciate the hunting help since I'm sure Nettlefang and Palewhisker are probably going to sit around and gossip the whole time lol )

(Not sure theres much I can add for featherpaw rn, I'll let her idle until burial time.) Birchheart • Tom • Fighter Location: Camp Clearing with Haretooth, Sandstrike & And the rest of the cat horde
Birchheart nodded slowly, appreciation and gratitude no less clear in his green gaze even among his grief. He knew well enough Hyliaecho's belief in starclan was... rocky to put it extremely lightly, but he wasn't known for being too hard on those of varying creeds within the clan and perhaps it simply made her attempt that much more meaningful. One didn't need to believe in starclan to serve the clan itself, and he had faith their ancestors would acknowledge the heart and deeds of a cat over what blind faith they had in life. Perhaps an uncommon trait among clanborn cats, and particularly ones that did have faith in their ancestors, but Birchheart was an open-minded sort, if only a trait he'd earned with age and softness for his clanmates regardless of where they came from. "You have my gratitude, Hyliaecho, Robinflame would be honored by your words." he responded, a subtle crack of grief in the otherwise held together tone of the warrior. "And thank you, Thorneyes. I would not wish harm to befall her at our behest." he managed to add once his composure seemed to reform.
He'd offered a nod of gratitude to Amberleaf as he went about his business, though a sadness gripped his heart tighter as the scent of his brother seemed to disappear among the herbs, though the scent of death had surely begun tainting his scent as evening fell upon them regardless. It was witnessing the grief in the eyes of his remaining family that truly hurt, though, and the anger flashing in Sandstrike's brought him further worry for the she-cat. He told himself he'd have to keep a better eye on her than he had his brothers, he couldn't allow oversight to take her as well, especially an oversight of the pain she must have been enduring as well. Regardless to her birth parents, Sandstrike was as much their family as any of the brothers had been. Flicking his tail towards Sandstrike in an act of mute comfort from his touch, he rested his head once more upon the ginger fur of Robinflame's side, his eyes closing if only to mask the pain of the tragedy that remained in his gaze. Firepaw • Tom • ApprenticeLocation: Camp Ledge with Wisteriaflowerdaydreams Firepaw took silent comfort in his mother's warmth and scent, a deep breath being the best he could offer himself in terms of relaxing. He'd could only have confidence in his mother's words, a thought that normally seemed so easy, and yet the cat that sought to meet her by name still flashed in his mind. Although he'd drawn away, the young tom paused, looking back up at Wisteriaflower a soft relief glowed within his amber eyes. He knew it was only right for him to sit vigil and accept the punishment that rightfully given to him, and yet the more he considered it, the greater anxiety and guilt grew in his chest.
Although he hardly wanted to seem like a scared kit who needed his mommy, Firepaw couldn't help but feel comforted by the thought of the small family sleeping together and leaving the horrible day behind them. Thus, the dark ginger nodded with the faintest brush of a smile passing his muzzle for what seemed the first time since he'd left that morning. "That sounds nice..." he managed to purr faintly, unable to disguise the relief that seemed to overtake his unease, at least in that moment.

(Yeah there’s nothing much else Crowpaw can do right now, so I’m cool with a time skip if everyone else is ready. Maybe after Nettlefang’s done talking to Palewhisker?)

(I'm just about ready to as well! I'm tired of making my poor lil good boy Thorny all sad instead of peppy lol. So I'm cool with the hunting patrol talking just a bit to form relationships and to discuss opinions, maybe Thorneyes and Hyliaecho can say a line or two to each other, then I'm chill skipping ahead! )

(( Also as mentioned I was looking through mentors to make sure I didnt need to reshuffle anything. Thankfully, after looking at it most of its staying the same. The only one I'm gonna reassign is toadpaw cause, well, hes mine but more importantly so lunapaw isnt stuck mentoring on three different characters in this clan when we have other options now.' Since there weren't any huge mentions, or any training sessions yet, we'll say one of his mentors were among the dead and he'll be reassigned (Because ya know, giving the apprentice a reputation for his mentors constantly dying is great, well and the personal trauma of another mentor dying) A friend of mine is also joining with Toadpaw's sister eventually and for consistency, her mentor will have been Robinflame. Due to this we can also formally roleplay out their new mentor assignments later/when the character has been submitted. This can actually wait till after the gathering since grief period and all, with everything else going on I think its logical that Greystar might not want to worry about mentors until the gathering is over. ))

(I honestly can't wait for the Gathering)
Sandstrike looks at Haretooth before turning her attention back to her brother. While, they had a complicated relationship, Sandstrike at this moment just felt so confused and lost. In her mind, they were all going to take on the world and become one of the very best! She allows herself to lean against Haretooth just to feel a bit of comfort.
(Enjoy it while it last lol)

(( Everyone loves a good gathering where definitely nothing bad is going to happen. Yep, totally nothing bad. LOL I probably wont be the one instigating anything but I believe in you guys. Speaking of, Hawkeyes258 , was there anyone in particular you wanted to bring? You are the leader so you get first dibs on who goes to the gathering. Also, I've somewhat picked out mentor ideas but I'm going to save sharing mentor ideas until after we pick a deputy, just in case I need to adjust anything based on the results of that. So, Gathering, then deputy proceedings, then new mentors is the current plan Since my intent was to do a moon age increase per month (Although I might increase to every two months and match this up with a gathering every other month and the half-moon gathering in between), I'll probably do that so Firepaw will also need a mentor which can be done during the reassignment of whom I already have an idea for.))

{i'll try to reply as much as i can, but they'll more than likely just be to those i haven't responded to yet and such. speaking of the gathering. say, hypothetically, if wisteria were to meet up with said strange cat, which thread would that be on?} ✸✸❣✸✸
The white molly simply nodded towards Birchheart's gratitude before she trotted off. Hyliaecho wished she could stay and comfort her clanmates in such times of grief, but she knew she couldn't put herself in a position where she felt uncomfortable. She had too much respect for herself. Their blind belief made no sense to her, and even though she tried to understand it, she just couldn't. However, that didn't stop her from respecting their beliefs just the same. It was a wonder to her how outsiders came about and put their trust into something that they had never experienced before. Maybe it was just them trying to fit in, or maybe they just simply put their faith and trust in it because they actually did believe. She may never know.
The fluffy warrior heard someone following behind her and turned her head to see Thorneyes trailing behind her. With a soft sigh, she slowed to a stop to allow him to catch up. While she did not feel guilty for not accepting his apology for his sister, she did feel bad for simply ignoring him all together. She was not known to be rude and she silently berated herself for such behaviors. "I am sorry for the way I treated you. I should not have done that on behalf of your sister actions." Her apology was curt and simple. "I hope that you know, I have no problem with you." ✸✸❣✸✸
A soft purr rose from Witeriaflower's chest. She knew that Firepaw and Featherpaw were far from kittens, as much as she hated to admit it. That didn't stop her from wanting to be around them as much as she could. She could still remember the day they became apprentices' and her first night back in the warriors' den. It had been lonely, and she had woken up multiple times throughout the night from nightmares of her kittens disappearing. That night, the former queen had sat outside the apprentices' den for majority of the night, peeking in occasionally to reassure herself that her son was fine. She wouldn't risk peeking into the Medicine Cat's den out of fear of waking up Amberleaf, but she knew that the Medicine Cat would keep her daughter safe. Many of her fears that night had stemmed from a single nightmare - one where their father had found them and taken them away from her forever.
The molly had often wished that she had met and fell in love with a much different tom. One that hadn't just been using her for his own gain. She wished she hadn't gotten pregnant - though she had beaten herself up for such a thought. While she loved her children, she simply wished they had a different father than the one they did. When confronted about the second half of their parentage from many of their clanmates, Wisteriaflower evaded every question throw her way. It was better than way. Not just for her own sake, but also for that of the kittens.
"Alright then. Let us go pay out respects." The molly nudged her son lightly towards the edge of the ledge before she jumped down herself.
