Coconutfall »
It was obvious that Mintsong was trying to intimidate him. He also knew it would be foolish of him to let her win, but he couldn’t help but falter underneath her scorching gaze. Coconutfall wasn’t meant for confrontation like this, but he knew he needed to stand his ground; he was oracle, and regardless on if he did everything perfect or not, he needed to be the leader he was meant to be.
If not for Sandheart nearby Coconutfall doubted his ability to stand up to the angry molly. But he met her gaze and stood where he was. His heart was racing and his chest was constricted with Mintsong around, but he was able to keep his composure on the outside. ”It won’t be closed off forever. Just until we figure out if this boa’s infestation is harmful to us or not. Once the healers have an idea, we’ll act accordingly.” For all they knew by the time that happened the boa would be long gone out of their territory or even dead from the bugs. They had no idea if they were deadly to the reptile, and if they were, Coconutfall hoped it was only detrimental to the snake and not to his Clanmates.
For the time being Coconutfall was doing a rather well job of keeping his composure. His words didn’t stammer and only occasionally did his tail flick with nervousness, but it wasn’t until Mintsong mentioned his kits that Coconutfall broke the stoicness that had masked his face.
A low growl threatened to escape. His ears flattened against his head. ”Are they supposed to stay put in camp all day? There are other healers in the camp, they weren’t obligated to stay here. Algaewing and Lilypool are fine healers who do their job well. Keep that in mind next time you come back to camp with your own injury.” Coconutfall wasn’t the best cat, his actions proved that beyond anything else, but he still cared for his kits, all of his kits, and he wasn’t about to let Mintsong get away with her jab toward his eldest daughters.
Tigerpaw »
Tigerpaw held his breath. Getting out of camp would be fun. It would be okay. Nothing would go wrong. And if Ripplepaw was going to go regardless, it was better for her to have somebody than not. ”Alright,” he mewed, nodding his head. ”I’m in.” This would be good for him, and he wouldn’t be able to get rid of the itch that was sure to come over him if he let Ripplepaw go out of camp on her own. Too many things could happen to a lone apprentice, but the chances of something bad happening lowered the moment an extra feline was added to the mix.
Briefly there he wondered about Whitepaw or Lionpaw. He hadn’t seen them around recently, but for all he knew they were out with their mentors or just hiding somewhere from all the drama going on in camp. He’d see them later, he promised himself that. His mind then wandered off to Hootpaw. She had been distant with him lately, and while it hurt since they were close friends, but he tried to understand where she was coming from. Coconutfall’s announcement had shocked the entire Clan, and Tigerpaw was sure even Hootpaw was confused by it all.
Tigerpaw soon bounced back to reality. He nudged Ripplepaw, glad to at least have her as a friend still. ”Come on!” With that he bounded forward and toward the camp’s exit, unaware of a certain pair of amber eyes following the two apprentices.

Lilypool »
Lilypool wanted to laugh under the water so badly, but she knew that the moment she opened her jaws water would rush in and bog down her lungs. It took all she had in her to not even so much as giggle once her sister had been pulled under water, but the laughter was clear on her face. Genuine happiness spread through her entire body, and for the first time in a long time, Lilypool truly felt like a carefree kit again.
Unfortunately she couldn’t stay submerged forever. Eventually a burning sensation began to grow in the pit of her chest, warning her that she needed air. Without wasting a moment of her time she pushed herself up from the bottom of the pool and emerged from the water, jaw parting to take in a deep breath. Airy laughter spouted from the molly, and while she wished this could last forever, she felt the energy that she had earlier draining away. Perhaps it was almost time for them to leave. But before that thought could be verbally brought up, hibiscus hunting was offered. ”Oh yeah!” Lilypool chirped. She had forgotten about Algaewing saying something about that before they had left camp. ”Let’s look for some! Or, wait,” she told her sister as she turned to look behind her shoulder, calling out, ”Crocodilefang?” Just like with the hibiscus flowers, Lilypool had almost forgotten the scout had escorted them to the falls, and before doing anything else she wanted to make sure he was okay with staying just a little longer.
From a nearby bush the scout roused himself. He looked to have been almost asleep, the Calm Falls bringing peace over even the typically alert tomcat. ”Hm?” He breathed, just loud enough for Lilypool to hear.
Amusement twitched her whiskers at the sight of a nearly dozed off Crocodilefang. ”Algaewing and I want to look for hibiscus flowers. Is that okay?”
The tom shrugged his shoulders. ”Fine by me. We still have a bit before sundown.”
Crocodilefang was right. Lilypool glanced upward to the sky; bright blue as it was, there were tinges of darker shades peering their heads out. Lilypool guessed they still had an hour or two left of daylight before it grew dusky. That gave them plenty of time to search for the flowers their Clan was named after.
”Thanks!” She called toward Crocodilefang as the tom resumed his own relaxing. Lilypool turned back to Algaewing, eyes bright. ”Alright, let’s go!”

Ripplepaw
Ripplepaw nodded, her eyes glittering with mischief. She hurriedly followed the young tom to the exit of camp, and she looked back, smiling once she noticed no eyes were seemingly on them. She padded up to Tigerpaw, her flank nearly touching his as she brushed past him, racing towards their destination, "Bet ya can't catch up to me, can ya, Tiger?", she laughed, and her heart stopped as she realized she used a nickname. What if he wasn't comfortable with that, what if I messed up, she worried, gaze fixated on something infront of her, I'll have to apologize, and quick. Her legs carried her as quickly as possible; she realized she was a great runner, probably due to her lithe build. The black molly chuckled, embracing the moment's beauty. She was having fun with Tigerpaw, and that's all that mattered at the moment.
Hey Feather! This is kinda short. I really, really wanted to get something up as I honestly love Tiger's and Ripple's dynamic, with the whole rulebreaker and rule follower thing. I just didn't have time to go onto my computer, so I wrote this on my phone. Hope you understand!!

i'm really liking how their friendship is turning out as well :> but hey, it's no problem! i dont mind any length reply, this clan is supposed to be no stress on that~ && probably won't be on much after this, tonight is d&d night for me ~ Tigerpaw »
The shortening of his name was no problem for the young tomcat. It sounded odd hearing somebody just call him Tiger, but it also felt nice, like he was being recognized as his own cat and not just some HibiscusClan apprentice that didn't know how to be a true member of the Clan. "I bet I can!" He called back to Ripplepaw, laughter bubbling from him as he bunched his muscles and took off, sprinting after the black molly.
Tigerpaw was a rather decent runner. His body was lithe and slim. He had always been told he had the build of a hunter. If he just concentrated enough, he was sure he'd be able to catch up with Ripplepaw. She was so close, just a few tail-lengths away from him. If he could just speed up a little, or find some other way around that would cut his time down in less...
He darted through the foliage that decorated the thick woodland near the camp. He saw no openings for another trail through the woods that would get him there quicker, so instead he pushed on, hoping that at some point he'd pass Ripplepaw and make it to the coast first.

me just catching up on the past eighty messages XD and sorry aether I know u don't want to be near mites but I couldn't resist) Risingbrookwith Drizzlefur & Hootpaw - aether, Turlestream - me
Risingbrook quickly scampered off again, this time a little faster towards his favourite hunting place - under a fallen oak tree trunk. Quickly squeezing himself under the thick trunk, he suddenly saw a parrotfinch pecking at an acorn. Slowly creeping out, he stalked closer. Once he reached close enough, he pounced, but the bird had seen him a flew away. He sighed. This would be hard. He hoped Hootpaw hadn't seen that. Quickly going back to his hideout under the tree, h waited patiently. Turtlestreamwith Drizlefur and Hootpaw - aether, Risingbrook - me, boa - npc
Turtlestream looked fondly at her son as he scrambled of to win the competition. Young cats nowadays, she thought, shaking her head. Suddenly she heard a ferocious hiss behind her. Unsheathing her claws, she spun around, to see a infested boa slithering nearer to her. Every instinct inside of her told her to run, but she had to protect the patrol. However, as the bug covered boa slithered nearer, her pelt bristled with unease. She sharpened her claws, trying to look fierce. But that did not faze the boa. The boa opened its mouth, slithering nearer. Then, without any warning, its fangs clamped down on her foot. Turtlestream cried out in pain, lashing out at the snake. Her sharp claws missed the boa, only causing a small cut. However, this was enough to scare the deadly but cowardly boa. But the damage had already been done. Turtle stream gave one , last, piercing scream before blacking out, her paw bearing the same marks as Swiftsplash.

aether you don't have to help. I have other open cats )) Ospreyfeatherwith Turtlestream - me, open to other cats
Ospreyfeather decided to cut through the Gecko Ravine to reach camp faster, considering he was already slowed down by his four pieces of prey. He shook himself dry, making sure to get the water out of his pelt, lightening the weight of his lithe body. Suddenly, he heard a deafening shout from further into the ravine. Quickly scraping some earth over his prey, he took off running. Coming closer to the source of the loud scream, Ospreyfeather saw his mother Turtlestream lying on the ground, unconscious with a pacific boa circling her. Turtlestream's foot was bleeding badly, proof that she had been bitten by it. Ospreyfeather's pelt bristled with anger, then pounced. "You hurt my mother!" His instincts, like Turtlestream's, were telling him to run, but Ospreyfeather ignored them. He leapt again, striking out continually at the thin recoiling body of the snake, his anger getting hold of him, urging him to cause the boa pain in revenge for the pain it had caused his mother. He knew he should drag Turtlestream to camp, but he wanted to get that boa. Anger could be seen in his eyes as he leapt at the boa repeatedly, channeling all his anger into his fighting.

Rookfall
With - [ Vanillabloom ]
Location - [ Camp ]
After departing from his interaction with Clifstorm, Rookfall trekked back to camp and his mind drifted - as it often did when he was alone. If anything, the brief encounter at the falls had simply solidified the fact that his mind had become swept up in his heart; he'd been so quick to be distracted when Cliffstorm was talking to him. All because of one cat. Self consciously, he grimaced to himself, hoping he hadn't been obvious. It would be embarrassing if others would discover how he felt... He hardly knew how he felt!
It wasn't long before the raven-coloured tom padded back into camp and... there was a lot to take in. His yellow eyes widened at the scene of Swiftsplash along with Seabreeze and Saltwhisker. Evidently there had been some sort of accident, however, it appeared to be under control as the two healers tended to the injured tom. Rookfall's eyes darted to the oracles den where, for the first time in three days, he saw Coconutfall. Yet, it appeared he was having some sort of tense conversation with Mintsong, Basiltail, and Sandheart. I'd best stay out of that. Rookfall thought wearily.
Padding quietly across the camp, Rookfall stopped by the prey pile and scooped up a woodswallow with the intent to visit the counselors. As he approached the three senior cats, he stopped and watched with apprehensive yellow eyes as even they were having some sort of heated debate.
What is going on?! Rookfall moved backwards, careful not to disturb the counselors as they talked amongst themselves, and the tom stood with the black and white feathered bird in his jaw. He considered taking the woodswallow for himself, though the thought was quickly dismissed. A meal was meant to be shared! A scan around the camp confirmed that neither Drizzlefur nor Hootpaw were about to share it, as he would have hoped. It was then that he noticed Vanillabloom, alone just like him, with concerned and tired eyes watching the events unfold in the camp. He felt a pang of sympathy for the queen. The events over the past three days had to be difficult on her in ways that no one else could possibly understand. Before he even made any decisions, he found himself padding towards the white molly.
"Vanillabloom!" He mumbled around the mouthful of feathers, "Want to share?" He stopped affront the queen and dropped the prey at her paws delicately. "It seems like there is a lot going on right now," he laughed sheepishly, "but, we shouldn't forget to eat and stay healthy."
Drizzlefur
With - [ Hootpaw, Tutlestream, Risingbrook ]
Location - [ Gecko Ravine ]
Another one! Green eyes narrowing, Drizzlefur watched with delight as a second gecko appeared from a crevice between two rocks. After waiting patiently for the scaled creature to emerge, she prepared to launch and catch it. Her hind legs shuffled lightly on the ground and she bunched the muscles around her haunches as she moved to pounce. The action was cut short by a loud, ear-piercing screech of pain. The gecko scuttled away, though that was least of Drizzlefur's concerns. Turtlestream?! Her heart began to pound in her chest and Drizzlefur felt her claws scrape over the ground as she rocketed through the undergrowth towards the sound of the scream.
She hadn't any idea about what to expect, yet when she emerged to the scene to witness Turtlestream collapsed on the ground and Ospreyfeather fighting a boa, she certainly hadn't expected that.
"T-Turtlestream!" Drizzlefur stammered, darting towards the limp blue-white molly. Despite the crimson blood oozing from her leg, Drizzlefur could see Turtlestream's flanks rising and falling inline with her breathing. She was still alive.
Drizzlefur whipped her head to watch as Ospreyfeather launched himself at the boa and she felt her breath catch in her throat. She was overwhelmed. Not a useful thought emerged in her brain; she could only ingest the scene with each moment that unfolded.
"Stay away from my clanmates!" Hootpaw's cry of fury rang loud and clear. From seemingly nowhere, the small molly threw herself into the air and clawed at the boas tough skin with her hind-legs, pummeling it over and over.
Boas don't usually bite... Drizzlefur felt confusion rise in her chest. What is wrong with this one? The boa in question writhed against the two cats that were now battling it. It's muscled body whipped back and forth, lurching to and fro in an attempt to catch a cat. Drizzlefur shook her head quickly. There would be time to wonder later. Forcing her muscles to move, she grabbed Turtlestream's scruff and dragged the molly away from the fight, struggling with the weight of the larger molly.

Risingbrook with Drizzlefur & Hootpaw - aether, Turtlestream & Ospreyfeather - me
Risingbrook was about to pounce on his second fruit dove when a piercing scream cut through the clear fresh air of the outdoors, scaring the vibrant coloured bird. Some cats in trouble! He shot off towards the sound, and saw his mother Turtlestream lying limp on the ground. The rest of the patrol, and Ospreyfeather were already there. He wanted to hurt the boa, hurt the boa that had attacked his mother. But he caught hold of himself right before attacking the slithering snake. Hootpaw and Ospreyfeather were already trying to stop it, and Drizzlefur was clearly struggling with the weight of his mother. His gaze stopped at the black she-cat, captured by love. But he shook his head, trying to stay calm. Quickly grabbing the other side of Turtlestream delicately in his jaws, he helped pull Turtlestream further from the battling boa. He wanted to run back and help Ospreyfeather and Hootpaw but he knew the important thing now was to get Turtlestream back to camp and bring a trained scout.

Ripplepaw
She looked back, a brief chuckle espacing her body as she noticed Tigerpaw failing to catch up to her. Ripplepaw raced forward; she felt as if she was floating above the soft ground, and it seemed to her that she made small, uneven pauses to grip the path beneath her. Her fellow Clanmate had clearly started to step up his game, and she reckoned she'd have to run even faster if she wanted to be first. Her surroundings blurred, and she could feel the wind piercing every hair on her sleek black pelt.
Using the last of her strength, she reached the Palm Coast, her paws warm and eyes dry. Panting, she turned around to see Tigerpaw arriving a few moments later. She grinned widely, twitching her ears, "I win," she heaved, out of breath. Her eyes darted towards the sky; they didn't have much time before somecat realized they were missing. She shrugged, Ah well. I'll appreciate the moment, she thought, head pounding. Only now did the adrenaline wear out; the effects of tiredness began to settle into her lithe body. Despite this, the black furred apprentice held her head and tail high; she wasn't going to let that ruin their hunting session. The molly sat down, her tail tip quivering impatiently as the tabby apprentice headed towards her. She was excited, and she was perfectly aware of it.
AHH I love the concept of these two being friends!! They match super well, with their backstories, problems and dynamic. Also, I'm really excited to see who the amber-eyed spy is, and I'd prefer no spoilers >u<

Ospreyfeather continued to strike the hissing boa, with a certain degree of madness in his eyes. All he could think of was Turtlestream lying behind him, unresponsive and knocked out. He felt as though he was fighting a large piece of prey, trying to rip into its scaly skin. He blinded the boa with a quick strike at its green eyes, moving his paw away before the boa could bite it. His anger had well and truly gotten hold of him, which was rare for Ospreyfeather. This is for Turtlestream! he thought, giving the boa a sharp cut on its back, slicing open its skin. Blood began to leak out of the cut, spilling out over the ground. It was a gruesome sight.

(hAH now gecko can do WHATEVER she wants (insert evil laugh))Geckotail
with open !! Geckotail stepped back, eyes glistening like a burning leaf. She bared her teeth, growling lowly as the Ocean bubbled and whirled beneath her. The blue water hit her paws harshly, and waves began to clash with the nearby rocks. The gray molly pawed at the bubbling water, hissing as if to repell it. She turned around, stalking off into the bushy undergrowth of the coastline. In that moment, she wished she could paint the sky with the blood of all cats who ever judged anyone based off of their heritage. She murmured a curse, ears flattening against her head as she remembered she only had a few hours before sunset.
She sat down, looking up at the sky, her expression suddenly blissful and serene. Geckotail remembered her mother; a helpless rogue, desperately trying to save her kits. Her mother, a then very young cat herself, instructed her to find a group of cats called a Clan with whom she could live with once she was old enough. She carried out with her mother's wish, not because she neccessarily wanted to, but because she wanted her mother to be proud of her.
Her pelt bristled, eyes wide and jaws clenched. The moons she had to survive alone were hard, and she was subsequently disappointed in the Clan's code, but joined anyways, living out her mother's dream. Now, as an elderly counselor, she couldn't carry out her duty.
Why?
Because of others. Because of the Clan, the other counselors and the Oracle. She oh-so-desperately wished Tigerpaw was what others considered normal in the Clan's eyes; for she knew how it felt.
With claws ready to tear into flesh and skin, she headed back to camp.

Coastdawn thought through her answer carefully, appearing dreamy to other cats, as she did often. When she was ready, she started to reply. "I think.. the ocean is right, but Coconutfall mistook what the ocean was saying. Tigerpaw will not become oracle. He is a disgrace," she replied, "and that, we have to make sure of." She glanced at the leaving figure of Geckotail, "with, or without her help."

Whalespiritwith Geckotail - ivyeyess
Whalespirit came into the camp with a mouth full of moss. The moment he stepped into camp, he noticed a tension in the air. Just then, he noticed Swiftsplash lying just outside the medicine den, with Seabreeze and Saltwhisker running around with anise for him. Snake bite? That was rare. What had happened to make a snake want to bite the young scout? Resisting the urge to squeeze into the crowded healers den, he dropped his moss outside and looked for someone to speak to. Catching the elderly Geckotail walking around in one corner, he came up, asking, "What happened?"

Swiftsplash and Saltwhiskeropen to more cats !! Swiftsplash woke up, hissing in pain as he did so. His wound burned, and he wanted to rip his leg off because of how much it hurt. He glanced towards Saltwhisker, the young tom sorting herbs hurriedly. "Saltwhisker? Is that you," he yawned, curling up into what looked like a clump of seaweed. The salt-white tom turned around, anxiety and worry clear in his eyes. "Swiftsplash. Are you alright?"
The older tom clenched his jaws, his eyes bare slits as he muttered, "No, not really. This really... burns." Saltwhisker smiled, much to the injured cat's surprise. "That means you're healing. It's going to hurt, and leave a nasty scar, probably, but you'll be fine," he explained, turning around and gazing at the green stacks of plants, "I'll give you some... lime leaves, horseradish, and... thyme, since I suppose you have a headache," he mumbled, leaving Swiftsplash shocked; he hadn't told him about his headache! How'd he know? He must be one good healer!
Saltwhisker dropped the stack of herbs beneath the scout's half-awake form, nudging them close to his face. "You'll have to eat these," he instructed, sitting beside Swiftsplash as he sniffed the strange herbs. He knew they were going to taste bad, but with the young healer standing above him, he couldn't get away with not eating them. Whilst chewing the plants, Swiftsplash heard Saltwhisker mutter something about Lilypool and Algaewing. Perhaps it was about them being away from camp for a while? He didn't know, and didn't bother to ask as his head fell back into the leaf-filled nest as soon as he swallowed the bad-tasting lump of greenery. The young healer quickly returned to his herbs, and began making a plan about which plants he should give the injured tom next, but Swiftsplash couldn't care less. His mind quickly drifted off to sleep.

Watching Coconutfall's composure break gave Mintsong a sick sense of satisfaction. He made it too easy. "If they're such fine and upstanding cats..." she leaned in close. "Then why weren't they good enough to be your neophyte?"
With a flick of her tail, Mintsong noticed that Sandheart still hadn't said a word, and for some reason that irritated her even more so. Her supposed mate was getting poked and prodded and she would stand awkwardly by and watch? Sure, Mintsong's doing the poking and prodding, but it's the principle of the matter!
"Or maybe you just got lucky, Sandheart," she said. "Now you got yourself a neophyte son. Good for you. Must be pretty proud of yourself."
(drags sandheart into the drama: no one gets left out :3)
Basiltail poked his head into the healer's den. "Hello hello," he meowed. "Saltwhisker, a word?"
He padded in, making careful berth of the sleeping Swiftsplash. "We've observed a strange bug on the boa that attacked Swiftsplash," he said matter-of-factly. "Coconutfall wants all cats who's had contact with Swiftsplash to be examined for bugs or parasites of any kind. He doesn't want anything to spread." He tilted his head. "Which would include yourself, Saltwhisker. You wouldn't happen to have observed any critters on yourself, would you? Something small and black, perhaps?"

Pleased, Algaewing hopped out of the pool and shook herself off. Still in a playful mood, she showered Lilypool with her water droplets. "Let's check near the waterfall," she said. "Hibiscus flowers need full sun but moist soil, so they could be hiding up top."
She began poking around, sniffing the air. The breeze was now on the chilly side against her damp fur. "Maybe around here," Algaewing muttered to herself as she climbed up along the rocks that built the face where the water tumbled down. Her eyes scoured the dirt, seeking out the colorful flowers.
"Any luck?" she called to Lilypool.
(next move ill get basiltail over)
Duskflight nodded, working his jaw. "Of course," he said, "for it is the cats who are faulty, never the Ocean."
He slowly walked through the camp, taking in the energies of the cats he passed. He wondered if little Whitepaw and Lionpaw were jealous of their brother. He wondered if Coconutfall's first litter were feeling bitter. He wondered if the scouts and healers were looking to Coconutfall with distrust, for their leader had hidden the truth from them for moons. He wondered about Vanillabloom, overlooked for another.
He wondered, then, about the Ocean. Duskflight has seen Oracles rise and fall in his lifetime, heard stories of Oracles in the past, and this was simply unprecedented. The only thing they could turn to was the code, to tradition, to what helped the clan last this long. That, at least, was what he kept telling himself.
... How did he know for sure this kind of thing never happened before? Perhaps a past Oracle lied, just as Coconutfall had, and their secret simply never came out. Perhaps the Ocean whispered to them a name, and they simply chose another. How would the rest of the clan know?
"It is the cats who are faulty," he muttered again, a plan slowly forming to mind. Had Coconutfall lied about Tigerpaw? Duskflight still had enough belief in his Oracle to know he was not a liar by malice, unlikely to lie simply to name his favorite son neophyte. But he also knew his Oracle well enough to know Coconutfall was not the most courageous cat when it came to these matters. More likely if he were to lie, Coconutfall would've named Redwave, Lilypool, or Algaewing as neophyte, if only to keep hiding his affair and avoid the shame entirely. No, the Ocean must have whispered Tigerpaw to Coconutfall, forcing him to admit what he's done.
"If Coconutfall refuses to name a new neophyte," Duskflight told Coastdawn, "then we must turn to our fellow cats ourselves. We tell them Coconutfall thought this was the only way to tell the truth about Sandheart. We tell them he was overcome with guilt, but perhaps he panicked, or was too afraid to admit it on his own. For even the Oracle is merely a cat, and cats are flawed. We tell them Tigerpaw is not the one the Ocean chose."
And the clan, the old Duskflight thought, would believe them.

[thejadestorm doyou want to end this rp? there isn't really anything else to say...] Coastdawnwith Duskflight - thejadestorm
Coastdawn nodded, agreeing wholeheartedly. However way they went about it, Tigerpaw would not become oracle. Her eyes slitted. Never. Coastdawn was determined to make sure of that. Geckotail was making a mistake. Why would she care about clan traditions anyway? She was a rogue, thought Coastdawn sneeringly. Coastdawn remembered as a young healer seeing Geckotail join the clan. At least Duskflight was worthy to ha a clanmate. He at least cared about their neophyte's heritage, feeling what the future of the clan depended on, trust in the leader. "You are right, Duskflight. He is not the oracle the ocean chose, and will never be."
