Ripplemist Ripplemist narrowed her eyes, focused on a particle of dust below her paws for a couple of moments before resuming her thinking and looking at Tigerpaw, joy echoing through her voice. "Why not start with the nursery?"

Brightclaw »
Brightclaw held her breath the moment Mosslight started with ‘I’m going to be honest’. In her experience, a statement beginning with that particular phrase usually ended in a negative manner. Did this mean that Troutwhisker didn’t like the ginger tabby the way she liked him? Did Mosslight not want them to be together? Or was this something else altogether? Had Brightclaw herself done something wrong? There were so many scenarios in which something could be wrong and not enough where something went right. Brightclaw dedicated her life to knowing when to wait and when to strike, but when it came to something like this she had no training. She knew nothing. Had she pounced too soon on this unknown adversary?
Muscles tense and heart racing, Brightclaw no longer had her appetite. She eyed the fish briefly, but the sight of it had her looking away. Her tail flicked back and forth, a snake against the ground. The scout needed to calm down, she could recognize that, but anxiety pulsed through her hot and heavy, a storm smothering her.
And after what felt like seasons to the scout, Mosslight finished her statement.
Immediate relief washed over Brightclaw. The storm dissipated, leaving behind it clear skies of bright blue. A new warmth flooded her senses, a gentle heat, soft and beckoning. A lopsided grin pulled at her lips, a silly little expression on what was once a face taught with uncertainty. ”Oh, Mosslight, you have no idea how relieved that makes me feel.” And excited, she added inwardly. The molly’s gaze darted around the camp. Was Troutwhisker even inside, or had he been placed on a patrol once the ceremony had ended? Even if he wasn’t around, a resolute decision was made. With a determined, happy glance back to Mosslight, Brightclaw chirped, ”Next time I see him, I’m going to tell him how I feel!” Tigerpaw »
Tigerpaw’s tail shot up, excitement coursing tremors through his body. ”The nursery it is!” It had been some time since he had last gone into the nursery. In fact the last time he had gone into the nursery had probably been five or so moons ago when he had been checking on the queens and kits to see if they had had any of the weird snake bugs. Batfall - still Batpaw then - had been with him, and together they had helped with figuring out a remedy for the bugs that had plagued the Clan some moons ago. Pride for himself still roused itself when he thought of that. He and Batfall had helped find a remedy for the itching. Sure, they hadn’t found any herbs or had made a huge breakthrough discovery, but they had helped, and that had been more than enough for Tigerpaw.
The memory of it all formed a purr in the back of the tomcat’s throat. He smiled, looking over at Ripplemist. ”I bet there’s a lot more room in the nursery now that Skinkstripe’s kits are apprentices. Kinda weird that there’s not any kits in the Clan now,” he added a little quieter. For as long as he could remember there had always been a litter in the nursery, or at least an expectant queen. Now there was just Vanillabloom and no indication that there would be kits soon. Something about that felt off to Tigerpaw. Why weren’t any warriors starting families? A shiver ran down his spine as a thought hissed into his mind. It’s because of the unrest that you put the Clan in. Before a hollow of dread could settle into his stomach, Tigerpaw shook his head. Now wasn’t the time to think about that.
Hoping to clear his mind, he playfully pushed into Ripplemist before hopping away toward the nursery. ”Last one there is a cracked crab shell!” He called as he bounded away.

"Good luck on that, he's probably on a patrol or napping"she said with a shrug"I would start with the nap option, best to figure out if he's in camp to begin with"she said, nudging the fish over"You have the rest, I'm fine"

Brightclaw nodded gratefully, appreciating everything that Mosslight had told her. ”I think I’ll wait,” she mewed with a nod. The ginger scout was beyond excited, and nervous too, to pour her feelings out to Troutwhisker, but she didn’t want to disturb the tom if he was napping, and if he was patrolling then there was no reason for her to waste time and energy looking for him while he worked. She’d give it a bit before looking for him. Besides, she was sure the cream tabby would show himself sometime this evening as the Clan settled down for the night. Perhaps she could tell him then. A purr rumbled in her throat at the thought.
While still brimming with more emotions than she thought possible - too many emotions for her to feel even the slightest bit hungry - she took the rest of the fish that Mosslight had offered. Perhaps she would eat it later, or she could offer it to the counselors or Vanillabloom. Either way, the fish wouldn’t be wasted. ”So, Mosslight,” the molly began with whiskers twitching in amusement, ”what about you? Any cat catching your eye?” Brightclaw thought it only fair to ask her fellow scout about any romantic dreams she may have. Despite the tensions in the Clan romance was still blossoming. Brightclaw had even noticed her own littermate seeking Lilypool out more and more. The scout chuffed with amusement. She had never thought of her sister as the romantic type, but she supposed when being the daughter of Coralstep and Coppershore, perhaps the most romantic pair in all of HibiscusClan, a romantic heart deep down just came naturally.

"I've had ideas over the moons but..None seem to stick. At this rate, I might just ask a tom to father Kits for me. I just don't think romance will be it for me. I would like to have kits though"she said with a shrug"Unless you know someone who has feelings for me, which I doubt. There are better cats to choose as a mate"

Ripplemist "That's no fair, you got a head start," she teased before darting towards the entrance of the nursery. She could hear the wind whispering softly in her ear as she ran, a sound that set a fire alight in her mind. And even now that very fire glistened brightly, perhaps brighter then it ever had... but she ignored it. She didn't want to get too excited.
Her pace seemed to falter, but she quickly gathered her mind. It was a pleasant day; she didn't want her unnecessarily philosophical pondering to ruin it.

Yoko
The white loner hadn't noticed that Cassia fell behind by just a little and when he turned his head to her, he padded back to her side and walked with her. He had noticed that his question had struck a sensitive nerve in the molly and his eyes now filled with regret from asking such a dark question. Yoko looked at the calico and mewed,"I'm sorry for asking such a dumb question. ". He had hoped that was enough to soothe the cat. He then pressed his nose against her shoulder and softly said,"If things do get worse, maybe you can bring me to those crazy clan cats, but we don't need to because I know I'll be fine, I'm sure of it Cassia.". He let out a soft purr before removing his nose and focusing back on the path to the ocean. The air smelled more salty and colder and the ground beneath their paws seemed to become soft the more they walked, Yoko figured the two were close to the beach.

Uncomfortable wasn't complex enough to describe what Hyacinthpaw was feeling after watching what had just happened. If that had occured during her own apprentice ceremony, she probably would've been seething. Just who did Whiteshark think she was pulling a stunt like that? Her head turned up to look at her mentor, giving a curt nod at her warning. "I promise, Aniselight, I will never be as arrogant as her." Hyacinthpaw spoke assuredly, as if her own words were law. She would actually earn the achievements she deserved. Tides forbid that claiming an apprentice become the norm. Sharp claws flexed into the dirt before she, too, rose to her paws and followed after Aniselight.
A trembling voice made the yellow furred apprentice stop in her tracks, glancing back to see Lilypool approaching them. Her tail-tip flicked and she swiveled to stand beside her mentor, facing the young healer. Those dark blue eyes of hers scanned Lilypool slowly, assessing her and trying to figure out why the tabico sounded so nervous. Was she really that intimidated by scout training? Thought the apprentice, her eyes starting to squint. Once again she cast her gaze up towards Aniselight. Even if she wanted the molly to tag along, it was ultimately up to her mentor if she could. "Of course I want you to follow your dreams," Gingerbreeze started with a sigh, so many negative emotions were still brewing within her like a raging storm, and Whiteshark trying to argue back was not helping. However, she couldn't help but feel a bit shameful that her own words were being thrown back in her face. With a look so sharp it could cut, the older molly's eye contact with her daughter did not waver. "But there are consequences to your actions. You can't just go around taking what you want, that's selfish, and I didn't teach you to be that," The red hunter countered, "in this family we work hard for our dreams. What we don't do is steal opportunities from someone else." With her piece said, she was about to dismiss Whiteshark, but her fur stuck out at the last thing her daughter spoke. Gingerbreeze knew the young scout to be confident, but since when had she become so inconsiderate. With her tail lashing behind her, it took every bit of self control not to raise her voice. "Yes, but that doesn't mean we have to continue living in scorn." About now was when her feelings were beginning to clash.
There was no denying how stressed Gingerbreeze had become since the birth of her kits, the fear of her secret getting out was eating away at her before Coconutfall revealed himself before the clan. She knew things would still be hard, but she had hope that they'd get better. However, the contempt from the clan and some of Vanillabloom's kits still left their mark on her heart. Gingerbreeze wasn't mousebrained, she could hear the whispers of a rebellion rising up. She was at least perceptive enough to see the looks thrown her family's way and the hushed whispering of Tigerpaw's name. If Redwave's confrontation meant anything, it's that a shift would soon be happening, and she was highly aware that her family was the cause of it. Was it so much to ask that she could finally have her happiness? Finally live out her days with the family she'd always wanted? Apparently the ocean, her ancestors, or perhaps some other higher being was still keen on punishing her. This time for her selfishness.
With a clenched jaw, Gingerbreeze focused on Whiteshark once again and saw a version of herself looking back at her. Perhaps the scout was too much like her. The molly's pelt began to warm as the realization of her own hypocritical actions sunk in. Letting out a defeated sigh, the red tabby took a step forward and pressed her nose hesitatingly to the middle of Whiteshark's forehead. "I just need you to be careful. What you are entitled to will come your way, you just have to be patient, dear. Everything will come together in the end," right?

Brightclaw »
Brightclaw shuffled on her paws, expecting to hear Mosslight recite a list of some cats she had her eyes on, but upon hearing what her friend actually had to say the ginger molly’s ears flattened against her head, eyes going round with soft concern. ”Oh, Mosslight, I’m sorry,” she murmured, reaching a paw out to gently place it atop one of Mosslight’s own. ”Romance isn’t something that every cat wants, but I think it’s something that everybody should get to experience if they want it. I’m sure there’s a cat out there for you,” she mewed, not once taking her eyes off her fellow scout. ”You’re a hard working, loyal, smart warrior of HibiscusClan. And you’re young. Younger than I am!” Brightclaw chirped, eyes now full of amusement. ”You’ve seasons yet before you need to start worrying about never having a mate and kits.” Hopefully this little pep talk would perk Mosslight up. Finding romance took time, but Brightclaw liked to think it was worth the wait rather than rushing into something that wasn’t as fulfilling. Tigerpaw »
It didn’t take long for Tigerpaw to take the last bounce of paws to arrive at the nursery’s entrance. He skidded to a halt, paws pressing hard against the ground, the tips of his claws unsheathing to give him a better grip. Once stopped he turned to look behind him, blue eyes landing on Ripplemist as the black molly bounded up some paw steps away.
Chest heaving as he caught his breath and tail held high in amusement, Tigerpaw breathily mused, ”Looks like you’re the cracked crab shell!” It was all in jest, as he was sure Ripplemist knew. The neophyte had never been one for cruel jokes or comments that would harm another’s feelings. That just wasn’t who he was. He offered his hunter friend a smile before turning once more, peering inside the nursery. ”Vanillabloom? You in here?” No sounds came from inside the den. This told Tigerpaw all he needed to know.
Gesturing for Ripplemist to follow, the tabby tom pushed his way inside the nursery. ”It’s just us, so this shouldn’t be too hard of a job.” Not that cleaning dens was outrageously hard or anything, but den cleaning was a little difficult when other cats, especially kits, were getting under paw and in the way.

Whiteshark »
with gingerbreeze - 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢
The fur on Whiteshark's pelt bristled uncomfortably. Anger bubbled underneath her like a hot river, waves boiling as the current rippled and shook violently. Yet interlocked with that anger was shame - shame that she was having this conversation, shame that she was arguing with her mother, the cat that had brought her into this world. For all that Gingerbreeze had done, for every fault that the ginger hunter had made, Whiteshark did not regret being her daughter. She respected Gingerbreeze. She loved her. Whiteshark could not deny that, but she also couldn't deny that she was upset. Having an apprentice and showing the Clan what she could do meant the world to Whiteshark, so why did every cat have to find some fault with her over all this? Sure, Whiteshark had received Creekpaw in an unorthodox manner, but Coconutfall had bestowed the apprentice onto her. Surely that had to mean something.
Whiteshark sighed. Her shoulders slumped, the tension draining from them. If this was any other cat then she would have snapped. Any other cat would have had their ears torn off, but this was Gingerbreeze, and Whiteshark would never harm her mother. She shook her head, gaze lowering to her paws. "I understand. ...I guess," she added under her breath, more to herself than to her mother, yet she didn't care if Gingerbreeze overheard. It was exactly the sort of thing the scout would say, so surely Gingerbreeze wouldn't scorn her daughter for the comment all that much.
It wasn't often that Whiteshark took a step back and actually thought about what other cats were going through. Things had been stressful for their family as of late. Cats were whispering about Whiteshark and her littermates' heritage constantly, murmuring all sorts of negative comments about them. While Whiteshark tended to ignore those comments, or simply stand up for herself and speak her mind until the other cat backed down, she knew it wasn't like that for the rest of her family. She knew that, yet she had no idea what sort of strain it had put on her own mother. Looking back up at Gingerbreeze, Whiteshark suddenly realized that she had no idea what sort of weight stress was putting on her mother.
It was about this time that Gingerbreeze relaxed as well. The two mollies looked at one another in a softer light. Whiteshark graciously accepted her mother's touch. In turn, she stepped closer to the red tabby, a gentle purr vibrating in the back of her throat. "I can't promise that I won't be reckless," she mewed, words intertwined with a laughing tease, "but I'll try to put more thought into my actions." The broad shouldered molly stood there in her mother's touch a moment longer before slowly pulling away. "I should probably go check on Creekpaw now, though. Maybe I made a mistake earlier, but I want to prove that I can be the best mentor HibiscusClan has ever seen."

Skinkstripe's kits, Sunsetpaw, Creekpaw, Wadepaw, and Dovepaw, just had their apprentice ceremony. During Creekpaw's ceremony, Whiteshark spoke out and demanded that Creekpaw be her apprentice - Coconutfall gave in and allowed her to be his mentor. The ceremony is over now and cats have congregated into their own little groups, patrols, etc. Hope that helps!

Brightclaw »
Brightclaw had to admit that she had no idea if any cat in the Clan thought about Mosslight in a romantic light. She herself viewed Mosslight as a friend, a rather close one, but it wasn’t her fellow scout that she had eyes for. For a brief moment the large tabby wondered if Mosslight felt jealous that her brother was stepping into the waters of a romance, but the tabby soon shook that thought off as if it were a pesky mosquito. There was no way that Mosslight would be that petty, or petty at all. Brightclaw was sure her friend was happy for both her and Troutwhisker; there was no way that littermates wouldn’t be happy for one another.
Even still, she felt a tinge of sorrow for her friend. Brightclaw leaned forward and nudged Mosslight. ”You’ll get there one day, promise,” she murmured gently, pouring genuine honesty into the words. The ginger molly truly believed that Mosslight would find a cat to fall in love with and raise a family with eventually. Maybe not now, or even in the near future, but one day she would, Brightclaw knew it in her soul.

Shelldance slid over next to where Skinkstripe was sitting. Though the apprenticeship had been a bit... unorthodox, to say the least, she still knew that the mother had to be brimming with pride. "Congratulations, Skinkstripe. They're a great group of kits." She purred. "Or should I say a great group of apprentices. I'm sure each and every one of them will make Hibiscusclan proud."
Driftingcloud watched as the cats dispersed post-ceremony, feeling a bit perturbed by Whiteshark's bull-headed demands. Further, he was dismayed that Coconutfall had submitted so spinelessly to her show of insubordination. He wasn't usually one to judge the choice of others, especially not the Ocean's Oracle, but he felt as though perhaps the young she-cat could use a bit of humbling. He caught sight of Silvertide and nodded his head to her. He wondered what a counselor such as herself thought of all of this. "Hello, Silvertide." He greeted, then continued in a tone that he hoped didn't immediately convey his concerns. "So... we have new apprentices."

S I L V E R T I D E Silvertide is rather amused by the whole affair. As the oldest cat in the Clan, nothing fazes her anymore -- she's seen it all by now, or has done it herself. The counselor sits like a rock in a babbling stream as warriors and apprentices alike swirl around her, all whispering and gossiping amongst themselves, and she can't help rolling her eyes at their shock. What happened today wasn't completely unprecedented, but there were few cats alive now who could remember the time when Silvertide, as a brazen young warrior, had demanded her own apprentice. The reaction then had been similar. What was unprecedented was the Oracle being spineless enough to give into the young warrior's request; Silvertide's had been denied.
The fluffy silver she-cat snorts derisively when Driftingcloud sidles up to her and expresses his concerns in the form of an indirect question, his words gentle and nonconfrontational, as was his way. "Observant one, aren't you?" She comments wryly. "I see a jellyfish instead of an Oracle up there on that branch and a Clan on the brink of open rebellion. And the day has only just begun!" Her chuckle is low and raspy.
A N I S E L I G H T A wisp of a smile -- not enough to move her mouth, just flatten her eyes a bit -- is her wordless response to her apprentice's solemn promise. Despite warning Hyacinthpaw against such displays of arrogance, she can't resist lifting her chin a little higher, pride warming her chest as she strides toward the camp exit with the younger molly at her side. The two scouts no doubt make a striking pair, one tall and fiery, the other small and yellow but nearly as strong, their blue eyes burning with purpose. She could not have asked for a better apprentice.
Hyacinthpaw stops first. Aniselight goes a few steps further before pausing and turning to see what has captured the apprentice's attention. Her heart leaps in recognition -- Lilypool! -- but she merely lifts her eyebrows in mild surprise. "Hi." Beside her, Hyacinthpaw is squinting at the pretty tabico, and Aniselight shares her confusion. As Lilypool stammers on, Aniselight's eyes slide past her to the dispersing crowd, where Whiteshark stands in the withering gaze of her mother, still defiant, Jacarandabloom and Redwave glowering from the shadows at a distance. Lilypool's siblings. No wonder she's so anxious to get out of camp. The scout's heart softens. "I suppose you can come." She tilts her head at Hyacinthpaw. "Hyacinthpaw? How would you like to show our healer friend how it's done?" There's a hint of a challenge in her voice, one she hopes the apprentice won't be able to resist.

Driftingcloud -- Camp -- With Silvertide, Tealraven
Driftingcloud bristled out of shock to the elderly she-cat's bluntness. Though he supposed he didn't expect anything less from her, he was still shocked that she would so brazenly name-call their leader, and foretell a rebellion on top of all of that! Driftingcloud chuckled out of awkwardness and appeasement, choosing to react as though as her words were a joke and didn't have a ring of truth in them. "Well... I might not would go that far, but it does feel a little bit, untraditional, to say that much." He huffed lightly, "If Coconutfall doesn't watch his step, cats will be demanding he give them the juiciest bit of every prey he eats next!" He wasn't quite sure what to make of all these events, and just hoped for the best when it came to Whiteshark and her new apprentice, Creekpaw. He knew one thing for certain- he wouldn't want to start his apprenticeship with a mentor who showed that much selfishness and that little forethought. "Hopefully this doesn't start a new age of insubordination. The clan leader's word is law, and we would be going against the will of Starclan if we were to forget that."

S I L V E R T I D E Her words have exactly the effect she was looking for. The counselor can hardly contain her glee at Driftingcloud's shocked reaction. Her golden eyes glitter with humor as she takes in his bristling fur and wide eyes. "Only a bit?" Did he really not know? Tradition was thin ice the Clan had been inching across for moons, unsure of where to put their paws next lest the cracks spidering through the ice beneath them suddenly give away. Whiteshark had just caused another large crack, perhaps the largest one yet. The ice groaned perilously.
Maybe Driftingcloud really wasn't that concerned. Silvertide didn't know much about him -- there were so many young warriors these days she didn't bother to keep track -- but he seemed like a peaceful sort. One who would rather try to make both parties see reason. His comment about a new age of insubordination makes her raise both eyebrows. "Mmm. Might be too late for that." She squints at him. "What would you have done, in Coconutfall's place?"
J A C A R A N D A B L O O M Jacarandabloom bristles at Batfall's eyeroll but, after catching her brother's look, manages to keep her mouth shut until the younger warrior is finished speaking. The fuzzy black tom's voice is brimming with excitement, eyes wide with admiration as he turns his gaze on Redwave. The left side of her mouth tugs down at the corner. Pfft. I would have spoken up - was going to speak up - if Redwave hadn't been so busy flapping his gums. The whole exchange had happened so quickly it was over before she'd had a chance to get a word in.
But, in fairness, Redwave is the face of the rebellion, not her. The others might have seen her input as undermining Redwave's argument, drawing attention away from him and onto her, rather than lending him support. They mustn't appear divided, not now, after all the progress they'd made. The Clan needs to see them as a united front; the rebellion cannot succeed without the efforts of both siblings. Yet at times Jacarandabloom feels more like Redwave's second-in-command than his equal. The idea of being consigned to that position indefinitely, only raising her voice when necessary and then only to support him, does not sit well with her.
Jacarandabloom refocuses on the little brown tom in front of her. "Of course there are other cats who feel the same way." She leans forward, putting her face level with his. "You want to join them? You want to do something about it?" Her teeth are bared in something that is not quite a smile. Inviting Batfall into the fold will be her decision this time. "Then you've come to the right place. Redwave, do we have a confirmed date for our next meeting?"

(oh crud there already IS a rebellion happening hahahaha nice)
Driftingcloud - Camp - With Silvertide, Tealraven
Driftingcloud watched Silvertide's reaction to him, his pelt continuing to prickle. The counselor had once more spoken in a blunt, matter-of-fact way that offended Driftingcloud's more reserved sensibilities, and he couldn't help but feel like he had walked into some sort of private conversation of which he was only privy to half. He glanced around, as if to make sure no other cat was hearing the older molly's radical thoughts. At her last words, though, he paused and turned back to consider her with his green eyes. What would he have done? "It.... It's hard to say. I'm not Ocean's Oracle, nor do I have the moons of experience that Coconutfall has. It would be very presumptuous of me to say that I had a better answer than him." His words came out somewhat rushed, as if he had recited them to himself before. Though in the silence that followed, he dropped his eyes to his paws. For a moment, he scored a line in the sandy ground, weighing his own words. Though he couldn't help but be aware of the murmurings regarding Coconutfall and his more, unsavory leadership choices, he found it hard to speak ill of his leader openly. Finally, dropping each word delicately like it was glass, he continued speaking. "But honestly, I believe I would have told her it wasn't her place, and that if she had concerns we could discuss that in private... and I would have chosen whatever cat I originally thought was the best fit." He looked back up at Silvertide. Surely it wasn't fair to whoever Coconutfall's original choice was that they got skipped over for a loud-mouthed young she-cat, and it wasn't fair to Creekpaw either, that he was stuck with the cat that spoke the loudest, rather than the one best suited for him. He didn't know how exactly Silvertide would respond to these thoughts, nor did he really know why she had asked his opinion in the first place, but there they were, laid bare for her to peruse.

Skinkstripe »
The ceremony had been something of a mess, Skinkstripe had to admit, but she still couldn’t keep herself from spilling over with pride. Her kits had graduated to apprentices; they would be training to defend, feed, and heal their Clan with courage and determination. What more could a mother ask for? It was a bit hard watching them go their separate ways. For six moons they had been by her side day and night as she had nurtured them and allowed them to grow into the adolescents they now were. They would make the Clan proud. Her first litter was already a hard working cat, healing the Clan alongside his denmates. Skinkstripe just knew her second litter would be as hardworking as Kiwiheart was now.
A congratulatory mew caught Skinkstripe’s attention. The molly swiveled her ears, angling them toward the sound of the voice. Shelldance’s scent soon wafted over the ruddy molly and she nodded in greeting. With eyes sparkling she mewed, ”They’ll always be kits to me.” A change in name would never change that. They would always be her kits just as she would always be their mother. ”They’re a fine litter and I know they’ll make the Clan proud.” The molly puffed her chest out, no longer ruffled over Whiteshark’s interruption during the ceremony. All she cared about now was how well her kits would do on their first day of training and how they would continue as they progressed in their apprenticeships.
Pleasure continued to swell her chest even as she pushed herself to her paws, stretching as she did. ”As odd as it’ll be not staying in the nursery anymore, I’m more than ready to get back to scouting.” Skinkstripe cast her gaze around camp, noticing her Clanmates gathering in various groups around camp, gossiping or organizing patrols. ”I haven’t gotten too far from camp in moons.” Having moved permanently into the nursery a quarter moon before her litter had been born meant she had been in the nursery for a little over six moons. At this point Skinkstripe’s paws were raring for the chance to get outside and patrol once more
Brightclaw »
Kits had never been something Brightclaw had thought about for herself. She loved being around kits and playing with them, having always offered to play with any current litter that happened to be in the nursery at the time. Kits of her own though...that was another story. It just wasn't something the ginger molly had thought about, but now that she had a prospective mate in Troutwhisker, she wondered if becoming a mother would one day be in her future. It would be something the two of them would need to discuss, and perhaps Brightclaw would even seek her own mother and ask Coralstep about expecting kits. Coralstep would know everything there was to know about all of that, Brightclaw just knew it.
Brightclaw frowned ever so slightly when she looked back to her friend. She herself had never known the strong urge to become a mother, but Mosslight was confessing to her now that Mosslight wanted that. Mosslight wanted to be a mother so badly that she was willing to raise kits on her own. While Brightclaw would support her fellow scout no matter what, she found it disheartening at the idea of her friend raising a family without another cat at her side to experience the joys and wonders of parenthood. "I'm sure you'll have everything you've ever dreamed of one day," the ginger scout assured her companion, purring as she leaned forward to nudge Mosslight.

Lilypool »
Lilypool's pelt prickled nervously. A part of her was convinced that an army of ants had taken residence inside her fur with how uncomfortable she felt, her skin burning and her fur ruffling along the edges, but she knew the camp was free of insects now, and she had groomed rather well before leaving her nest for the ceremony; if there were ants in her pelt she would have found one during her meticulous wash. It wasn't her apprentice ceremony - those days for her were long over now - but the healer still enjoyed looking presentable when the Clan gathered for such a joyous occasion. The thought of looking like a washed up rogue did not appeal to her.
No, all of this that she was experiencing right now was due to the fact that a beautiful blue gaze was staring at her. What was Aniselight thinking? Would she be okay with the healer joining in? Lilypool did not plan on getting in the way or interrupting Hyacinthpaw's training. She just...she just wanted to sit and watch, observe how scouts trained. The molly flicked her tail, meeting Aniselight's gaze; she just wanted to sit and watch Aniselight, to spend time with the broad-shouldered molly even if they weren't alone together.
Hope swelled in the tabico's chest as the scout agreed to her presence. "Really?" She breathed, fur relaxing back down and smoothing itself out along her slim frame. "I promise to stay out of the way!" Lilypool's ears went warm. Really, Lilypool, is that all you can say? You just sound like an overeager apprentice trying to get out of camp! It was true that she did want to get out of camp, the tension between various family members was getting to be too much for her after Whiteshark's embarrassing display, but would Aniselight realize that or would she think of Lilypool as some shrimp-brained 'paw? The molly shuffled her paws along the ground, eyes glancing briefly toward Hyacinthpaw. Would the apprentice deny her joining? Aniselight could very well override that decision if Hyacinthpaw said no, but Lilypool didn't think Aniselight was the type of cat to do that. She was sure that the scout was the kind of mentor to listen deeply to her apprentice and truly consider what the young cat suggested. It was the markings of a true mentor. Despite what the Clan thought of Coconutfall, especially after this morning's ceremony, Lilypool knew that her father was showing impeccable judgement in giving Aniselight a young cat to train. Her guidance would shape Hyacinthpaw up into one of the finest scouts.
Redwave »
Redwave still found it suspicious that Batfall was so eager to join his and Jacarandabloom’s group. He doubted that the brown tom would go as far as would be necessary due to his friendship with Tigerpaw, but Redwave supposed he was willing to give the scout a chance. The more cats he had on his side the better. Plus, for all the hostility she was showing, Jacarandabloom appeared to accept Batfall into the group, and her opinion on recruits was important to the hunter. His littermate was in the same position as he was and she deserved the same authority and respect he was getting as well.
The red tom turned to his sister when her attention focused on him. He shook his head. ”That was something I’d like to discuss with you,” he told her coolly, unfazed by her display of bared teeth and sharply questioning words. His words were not a lie as it were. Redwave valued his sister’s opinion and had wanted to discuss this with her for some time now, but between recruiting cats, being with Stormsurf, and typical hunter duties it had been hard to find time in which he and his sister were not away from camp. ”What do you propose, Jacarandabloom?” Redwave would accept any decision she put forth. He would prefer a date that was sooner than later, especially considering the stunt Whiteshark had pulled. If they could fan the anger over that for longer and remind their cats of Coconutfall’s spineless acceptance of her becoming a mentor then perhaps it could be used to signal that his leadership was no longer.

"I hope so, I'm hopeful but it's always good to plan ahead"she said as she got up, stretching out. Her ears perked a bit, hearing a familiar voice approaching the two.
Troutwhisker walked up, tail flicking"Hey, can I join you two?"he asked, clearly still half asleep from a nap. Once he got the go ahead from Mosslight, he sat down near Brightclaw, tail wrapping around himself

Brightclaw »
Brightclaw's attention turned away from Mosslight when she heard a set of paws coming near. A familiar voice ruffled at the fur around her ears, and a purr vibrated deep within the large tabby's throat. She turned, a warm smile pulling at her lips when she caught sight of Troutwhisker. "Hey there, sleepy-head!" She teased in greeting, leaning over to swiftly press her muzzle against his shoulder. As she did she breathed in the tom's scent, her smile growing soft. She soon pulled away from him but her cheery, happy demeanor did not falter. Brightclaw was glad to see the tom that she had been talking about with Mosslight, and all the more glad to see that he was interested in spending time with her.

"Well, I gotta go, you two have fun"Mosslight said with a laugh as she rose to her feet. She headed off to check and see if any patrols needed her help.
Troutwhisker shook his head"weird, how are you?"he asked, moving to nuzzle the molly gently. He had been having a good nap, but now he had a bunch of energy that he had no idea how to get rid of.
