Tigerpaw »
Deep down Tigerpaw was a disappointed about being stuck in camp, but there could have been worse things to happen. He wondered, though, if maybe one day he would be able to go out of camp without needed an escort, or even permission. Currently he was on the path to becoming the oracle, and surely an oracle could leave the camp whenever they pleased. Tigerpaw's whiskers twitched in amusement at the idea of Coconutfall going up to a scout and inquiring of them if they could take him outside. What was the point of being a leader if they were trapped inside the camp and could only leave under the watchful eyes of a guide? Oracles received battle training - not as extensive as what a scout would receive, but it was enough to remind an oracle to keep their claws sharp and skills ready.
But for now, the brown tabby was confined to camp unless with a scout. That was okay, though, he decided. Ripplemist and he would make the best of it, stuck in camp or not.
Chest swelling with a newfound excitement, Tigerpaw gestured with his tail in a wide swoop. "Where d'ya wanna start?" He asked, voice a chirp. Whatever disappointment he had been feeling earlier had now vanished, replaced with a bountiful excitement that thrummed in his paws. "Maybe the counselors den? Or the nursery?" Those were the two dens that needed to be checked the most, so to Tigerpaw it made the most sense to start with either of those two if they were going to tidy up some dens today.

Yoko Yoko nodded, feeling the excitement build up inside him. "Great! Do you want me to lead the way, or do you have a sense of direction towards the ocean?" he asked, his stomach grumbling again. He hoped they could catch a large fish, something that would fill them both up for the night.
Yoko's stomach grumbled again, but this time with anticipation. He imagined sitting by the ocean, the salty breeze ruffling his white fur, and sharing a freshly caught fish with Cassia. The thought made his mouth water, and he felt a surge of excitement in his chest. For a moment, he forgot about his injured leg and the looming threat of the clan cats. It would be nice to just enjoy the day with Cassia and not worry about anything else.
Oh, how he couldn't wait to start heading towards the beach and relax, something both him and Cassia deserved. (tag:☾—ivy。˚⊹♪:¨ · )

Brightclaw »
Exhilaration crackled through Brightclaw’s pelt like lightning. The ceremony left her more excited than she had felt ever since being named as Hurricanepaw’s mentor. His ceremony had been some moons ago at this point, the tom no longer carrying the warm, milk-laden scent of the nursery and no longer sporting the fluffy tufts of downy kit fur. His stature was still small, making him one of the smallest, if not the smallest, apprentices that resides within the Clan save for the newest batch that had just been made, but despite his small size he was toning into a fine fighter. Size alone did not make a good scout, even Brightclaw knew that. Sure, the ginger molly herself was large and broad-shouldered, a trait she inherited from her mother, but her size would have meant nothing if she had not trained with her mentor and dedicated herself to the life of a scout.
She wondered where her apprentice would be at the current time. Surely he was somewhere in camp as no cat had told her he was being taken for any patrols. Perhaps he was congratulating the new apprentices before their mentors took them outside of camp to begin their Ocean’s Wade.
A purr danced across her vocal cords, tail curling in delightful reminiscing as she remembered her first day as an apprentice. Seeing the Ocean for the first time had been a breathtaking experience, something that she would never forget. She had been told many times as a kit that the Ocean was much larger than any cat could imagine, but those words had never quite sunk in until she had placed her eyes upon the vast expanse of the water herself. Brightclaw knew that Skinkstripe’s newly promoted litter would be experiencing that same awe themselves before long.
Deciding that she would find her apprentice later and give him time to greet his new denmates, Brightclaw’s thoughts drifted to another cat. Would Troutwhisker be around? In the last few moons the two had been spending more and more time together, growing close and sharing moments with one another that some would say went beyond typical friendship. Even Brightclaw admitted that the tomcat made her feel giddy in the heart and warm between the ears, and at times she couldn’t help but wonder if this was how her parents, Coppershore and Coralstep, felt about one another. Any time she had wanted to ask either of them, though, she had been pulled away for a patrol or her parents were already on patrols of their own. She even considered talking to Aniselight, her littermate, about these newfound feelings, but again, every cat suddenly seemed busier than usual. Brightclaw couldn’t help but wonder if that had anything to do with Coconutfall and the drama he had brought upon the Clan. Even Ripplemist, another cat she considered talking with about this, had been busy with her newfound hunter duties. While the two mollies weren’t blood related, it was Coralstep who had raised the young hunter when she had been a kit. Brightclaw thought of Ripplemist as a younger sister and had always made an effort to be the best older sister that she could be.
Soon realizing that most of the Clan had broken off into groups while she stood alone, Brightclaw searched the Clan for any cat who was also on their own, desperate for companionship after the excitement of a ceremony. Her thoughts flashed back to her family and Troutwhisker, yet in her search her eyes landed upon one car in particular who was also by their lonesome. Tail raising high in greeting as she trotted forward, Brightclaw dipped her head and purred, ”Hi, Mosslight!” Being Troutwhisker’s littermate and a fellow scout, Brightclaw cared about the tabby molly quite a bit. She wanted to keep up a friendship with Mosslight, and all in all Brightclaw considered the other scout fine company to have.

Could I roleplay with Trout'whisker?

(Sure)
"Oh hey Brightclaw!"The molly said as she perked up. She had been having to listen to her littermate talk about the other molly on and off and at this point, kinda figured he liked her. "Did you want to share some fresh kill? I spotted a fish that looked really good"she offered, tail wrapping around herself.
Troutwhisker had decided to busy himself away from all the chaos. He spotted Brightclaw and Mosslight and did not want to run the risk of embarrassing himself thanks to his littermate. A sigh fell from his muzzle as he wondered if anyone was free to go and hunt.

Cassia "Ehh, not so much," she mewed, flicking her tail impatiently as she stood up. "But believe what you will. You can lead the way." She blinked, paws itching with anticipation at the thought of a freshly caught fish stiffly laying in the sand right beneath her. With a grim sense of dread she reckoned she'd need a lot more then to just want fish if she wished to eat anything.
Yoko's wound was beginning to concern the calico, and her stomach churned as she thought about all the possible outcomes of the infection swarming the white loner's leg. She had been so lonely once, not speaking for moons on end, not even to herself; she recalled how raspy her voice was when she first met the tom, a mere grumble compared to the clear song his voice was. She has tasted the beauty of sharing life's beauties with someone once, and she did not want to let go of it anymore.

Yoko
Yoko didn't say a word and walked in front of Cassia, leading the way to the ocean. His nose twitched as the salty tang of seawater grew stronger. He couldn't wait to sink his teeth into a plump fish, savoring the taste of the sea. However, his mind couldn't shake off the worry of his leg injury. What if it got worse? What would they do then?
"Say Cassia," he didn't look back to face the cat as he was also focused on leading the two in the right direction,"if my leg doesn't show any improvement, what will happen to me and what would we even do next?" The white cat didn't want to show it, but his eyes were clouded with the thoughts of an early death looming over him.
He then stopped in his track and turned to Cassia. "I know I will probably beat this little infection, but we still have to think about what we'll do if things do go bad." Yoko uncomfortably shifted knowing he was talking about a difficult topic right before the two were finally going to enjoy themselves for the first time.

Brightclaw »
The purr inside Brightclaw’s throat grew louder as she was greeted in return by the other molly. Her tail quivered, joyous that she now had another cat at her side after such a wonderful event. This was a time in which no cat should be alone. Being able to gather in groups and spend time with Clanmates was something that made Clan cats different than loners. Brightclaw couldn’t even begin to imagine how lonesome the life of a loner was, but she supposed that some cats would rather be on their own. Just because she didn’t understand it didn’t mean it made sense to others.
Pushing these thoughts aside for now, Brightclaw nodded in response to Mosslight’s question. ”Sure!” She chirped. Perhaps this would be the time where she could talk about Troutwhisker and figure out if her feelings for him were truly beyond friendship or if it was simply just platonic affection, and what better cat to talk to about that then Mosslight, Troutwhisker’s littermate?
Brightclaw turned to head toward the fresh-kill pile. It looked a little low, but hunting patrols were bound to be going out to restock. It would be no surprise to Brightclaw if she was asked to guard a hunting patrol before the day’s end.
”It’s so exciting that Skinkstripe’s kits are apprentices now!” Exclaimed Brightclaw. She looked over her shoulder to gaze at Mosslight, whiskers twitching. ”Can you imagine not having apprentice ceremonies like a loner?” She asked somewhat out of the blue, words falling faster from her mouth than she could actually think, ideas from earlier making an appearance. ”You’re probably stuck with the same name your entire life, wouldn’t that be boring? I mean, they probably like that and a loner has never done anything wrong to me, but…” Brightclaw shook her head as her words trailed off. ”It’s just odd, that’s all,” she finished with a shrug, fur prickling with newfound embarrassment as she realized she had babbled on for a bit there. Mosslight probably didn’t even want to talk about loners and their traditions, or lack there of. Brightclaw shuffled her paws, eyes lowering. The ginger feline fell silent, heart drumming deep in her chest as she waited for Mosslight to respond.

A N I S E L I G H T with hyacinthpaw | leaving camp @ 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 Aniselight remained silent through the whole ceremony. Her narrowed blue eyes and slightly twitching tail-tip were the only indicators of how she felt about the whole affair. What a mess. Putting her father in that position in front of everyone. And setting a bad example for other cats, too. The tall, flame-colored scout's face resembled a stormcloud as she got to her paws. "Don't get any ideas," she warned her apprentice. "What just happened up there? With Whiteshark? Don't be like her." Hyacinthpaw possessed a similar boldness and determination that would carry her far in life--so long as she didn't become an entitled brat like the other scout. Not if Aniselight had any say in it. "C'mon, let's get going." Aniselight beckoned the apprentice with her tail and managed not to glance at the medicine den as they walked by.
J A C A R A N D A B L O O M Jacarandabloom was still pondering her brother's words with a thoughtful frown when another voice interrupted their hushed conversation. The mottled molly startled violently, fur bristling along her spine, then did an awkward side-hop to try to downplay her reaction. "Batfall." She remembered him; he was the prickly little apprentice who had barged in on her conversation with Pearlwave on Flower Night. Now he was doing it again! The young tom clearly had no respect for privacy or personal boundaries and couldn't be trusted not to turn around and blab their secrets to the next unlucky cat he decided to pester.
Redwave must have had other ideas. Instead of shutting Batfall down, he continued to converse with him, albeit warily. But why even bother? Isn't Batfall one of Tigerpaw's pals? Jacarandabloom watched the exchange with growing incredulity, her eyes wide and mouth a thin line. The side look she gave her brother seemed to say why are you still talking to him, but if Redwave was willing to hear Batfall out, perhaps she should give him another chance. She had to admit, the fuzzy brown scout was hitting all the right notes -- an inward part of her yowled in agreement with his assessment of Coconutfall's leadership -- yet he seemed like he was trying too hard. Why? Did Tigerpaw put him up to this?
"Alright, enough schmoozing," she hissed, losing patience. "Let's cut to the chase: you think Coconutfall is inept and the Clan needs a change in leadership. Great." She lashed her tail. "So why come to us? What, exactly, do you think we're going to do about it?" How much had he overheard?

Brightclaw »
Brightclaw’s pelt prickled with unease. Warmth burned at her eartips at Mosslight’s words. The younger molly had a point, and Brightclaw had vaguely mentioned that in her own comment moments before, but the shame that weighed heavy in her stomach had her second guessing herself. Had she said something wrong? Had she said something that upset Mosslight? It wasn’t a secret that Mosslight and Troutwhisker had been sired by a cat outside the Clan - HibiscusClan did not scorn those who mated outside the Clan, but it was a known rule that it was better to keep your loyalties within the Clan rather and out of it. Had Mosslight’s and Troutwhisker’s father been a loner, Brightclaw wondered.
The ginger and white tabby exhaled, not realizing she had been holding in a shaky breath of air this whole time. ”Sorry,” she murmured, wanting to apologize just in case she had struck a nerve. Brightclaw shifted, slowly easing away from the shame that had blanketed her. ”I know they have a different life than ours. It’s just…interesting to think about, ya know?” She glanced a questioning gaze toward the tabby.
It only took the sight of the fish for Brightclaw to perk right back up to her usual self. She puffed her chest out happily, smiling at the prey. ”That is a nice looking fish! Whoever caught that should be proud,” Brightclaw mused. She had never been good at hunting, always too heavy and too slow on her paws. Because of this she admired any cat that could hunt for their Clan, and with a hint of admiration and amusement she wondered if that was another reason as to why she felt so drawn to Troutwhisker. Lilypool »
Excitement had turned to unease just as sudden as a lightning strike in storm clouds for Lilypool. An apprentice ceremony should always be a joyful event, one that would leave the Clan talking in groups about their hopes for the new apprentices, yet that was not happening for Skinkstripe’s second litter. Congratulations had been given to the four, but there seemed to be little talk about the apprentices themselves; rather, from what Lilypool could gather, most cats were muttering tensely about Whiteshark’s display of overconfidence. It had been a bold move, one that should have never happened. Lilypool could agree it was foolish to have done so, but she also couldn’t help but wonder how the Clan would have reacted if some other cat had pulled the same stunt. Would they have been this upset if a cat such as Mothshade had demanded an apprentice to train? Or was this tension caused only due to the fact that Whiteshark was one of Coconutfall’s kits with Gingerbreeze?
Dread began to well inside the molly’s chest as another thought formed. Would this act of foolishness from Whiteshark shatter yet another part of Lilypool and her littermates’ lives? Would her Clanmates start to see all of Coconutfall’s children as incompetent? These thoughts were irrational, that’s what she kept telling herself at least. These thoughts were dark shadows that wanted to drag her down into the deepest, murkiest areas of the Ocean, but despite being a cat of the water Lilypool had never been the strongest swimmer. Many cats of the Clan believed that a kit from Coconutfall’s first litter should be their rightful leader once the Oracle passed, but how much longer would it take before the Clan thought that all of his kin were a waste? Would they begin to believe that the Oracle’s bloodline was cursed and that they should be thrown away?
A flash of ginger out of the corner of her eye brought Lilypool back to reality. The young healer shook her head, focusing her attention onto the pelt that had caught her attention. Immediately her ears burned as recognition slapped her.
Aniselight!
Lilypool’s breath caught in her throat, shoulders tensing. She had kept an eye on the scout for a while before the ceremony had started, but after everything was said and done her attention had pulled drastically away from the broad shouldered molly. Now her attention was back and even more focused than ever. The healer sat there for a long moment, barely even noticing that Aniselight had her apprentice nearby, muttering words to Hyacinthpaw that Lilypool could not make out even if she tried.
Ever slowly did Lilypool get over the paralyzing warmth that gripped her at the sight of Aniselight. She pushed herself to her paws. It seemed as if the scout was going to take her apprentice out for some training. I shouldn’t intrude, Lilypool thought meekly. But some company would be nice. I’ll just make up some excuse for me being there.
Hoping that her legs weren’t trembling as badly as she felt, Lilypool made her way toward Aniselight and Hyacinthpaw. She dipped her head in a greeting, praying that she was collected with a second prayer going up that she wasn’t seen as intruding. ”…Hi,” she mewed rather weakly, fearing her words would tremble. She swallowed, taking a second to gather herself before continuing, ”Are you two open to me joining? I…I know a healer has no place in scout training, but I…” Her eyes searched for any sign of emotion on Aniselight’s face before she darted her glance away. ”I’d like to watch how it’s done. A cat never knows when they may need to unsheathe their claws, and, well… I’d like to get out of camp,” she admitted sheepishly. Wanting to clear her head with fresh air wasn’t a lie, but there was more to all this than she was letting on, something that only Lilypool herself was thinking.
Redwave »
Redwave’s bobbed tail twitched as he picked up on Jacarandabloom’s frustration. For as much as his sister probably wanted to hide her emotions, it was all too clear for the red tabby to notice her demeanor, how the fur along her spine began to bristle and how she screwed her face upward into a thin blanket of incredulousness. He said nothing about all this thought. He understood exactly where his littermate was coming from. Redwave was skeptical about this too, though he was more willing to entertain whatever Batfall was bringing forward than Jacarandabloom was. Despite her misgivings, the scout gave in and offered up a question toward the fuzzy tom rather than bite his ears off and send him running back from wherever he had come from.
As Jacarandabloom’s question came forward, Redwave sat back and watched. His amber eyes narrowed as he gazed toward his sister and then back to Batfall, intrigued as to what the young scout would reply with. He wondered how Batfall would deal with Jacarandabloom’s obvious display of annoyance as well. This could perhaps be a test for the brown tom in two different ways. The obvious test was questioning his motives here, his entire thought process on how he imagined an allegiance between himself and the littermates would turn out. The second test, the less obvious one, was that of how well could Batfall handle himself under Jacarandabloom’s sharp tongue and scorching stare. As rascally as Batfall seemed to be, even the strongest of warriors could pale in the presence of Jacarandabloom.
So silent he sat, watching and waiting for a response. He was curious to see how Batfall handled all this, eager to know what the scout wanted out of them.

Brightclaw »
A sense of relief washed over Brightclaw as Mosslight accepted her apology from earlier. Or, rather, told her that there was nothing to be sorry for.
Not wanting to traipse back into a topic that could be uneasy for the both of them, Brightclaw focused her attention on the fish. A purr grew steady in her throat, amusement flickering in her pale gaze as she felt her stomach growl with anticipation. "Lucky we don't have to get in water a lot as scouts," she mewed to Mosslight happily. "I could never fish so easily."

Batfall
Batfall's ear twitched with frustration as he recalled how difficult Jacarandabloom could be at times. Actually, come to think of it, she was difficult most of the time, but Batfall couldn't really blame her. He had barged into their conversation out of nowhere and interrupted them. He only wanted to praise Redwave for his heroic actions earlier, but now he was here, wanting to join Redwave in his quest for change. Batfall couldn't help but wonder if his desire for justice was genuine, or if it was simply born out of his own lack of direction. Seeing younger cats in the clan doing something productive with their lives made him feel like he needed to do something too. Batfall pushed those thoughts away and focused again, after all the cat was waiting for an answer.
Batfall couldn't help but roll his eyes at Jacarandabloom's impatience. "I see you haven't changed much, Jacarandabloom," he retorted, his eyes flicking towards the snappy molly. "But to answer your question, why you two? After the fiasco earlier, I thought it was pretty obvious. Did you not notice how uncomfortable some of the cats in the clan were with Whiteshark's appointment? And yet, did anyone say a word about it? Even I had strong feelings about what happened, but I didn't say a word."
Batfall's gaze turned to Redwave as he spoke, his voice filled with a growing sense of excitement. "Redwave, you were the only one who spoke up during Whiteshark's appointment," he said, his eyes bright with conviction. "Your words inspired me, and I knew I had to talk to you. We could be the ones to make a real difference in the Clan. Imagine what we could accomplish if we worked together and actually took action!" He paused, his fur bristling with energy. "I'm sure there are other cats in the Clan who feel the same way we do, but they just need that extra push. And if we can provide that push, we could change the course of the Clan's history."
Taking a deep breath, the young tom realized that he had sounded too immature and inexperienced earlier. He yearned to show Jacarandabloom and Redwave that he was more than just a former apprentice and that he had something to offer the clan. He wanted to prove his worth and do something he could be proud of, to make a real difference in the lives of his clanmates. This was his chance to step up and make a lasting impact, and he wasn't going to let it slip away.

Brightclaw »
Without hesitation Brightclaw leaned forward and took the first bite of the fish. She sank her fangs into the side of it, removing the fin and laying it down nearby - she’d take it outside of camp later to bury it as there was no substance to the fins and not a part of the fish that any cat would want. Sometimes they were used as toys for the kits after letting the fin dry out in the sun for a few days, but with Skinkstripe’s kits now apprentices there currently weren’t any queens in the nursery. A thoughtful look crossed the ginger scout’s face as she went back to the fish, taking a bite before pushing it over to Mosslight. Was it a bad sign that there were no longer any kits in the Clan? Surely some cat would be having a litter soon. A Clan couldn’t survive without a healthy supply of youth. Plus, Brightclaw just liked having kits around - she enjoyed having the extra time in camp to visit them and see what all they could get up to.
She was pulled away from these thoughts when she registered Mosslight’s question. The tabby flicked her tail, smiling once she swallowed down her bite of fish. ”Been kinda busy training Hurricanepaw. He’s a quick learner!” The scout puffed her chest out proudly as she praised her apprentice. Hurricanepaw was tiny, but that didn’t stop Brightclaw from putting her all into his training. He’d make a fine scout one day. ”I’ve also been spending a lot of free time with Troutwhisker,” she admitted rather sheepishly, glancing away. Brightclaw’s ears burned as she waited for an answer, invested in what Mosslight had to say about Brightclaw’s confession.

"As I've heard and seen"she said with a soft laugh, taking a bite from the fish"have you two considered options other then simply friends?"she questioned, glancing up at the larger molly. She wanted her brother to be happy, plus if they had kits she was getting first dibs for an apprentice.

Brightclaw »
Brightclaw's pale green eyes grew round with surprised embarrassment at Mosslight's question. Warmth flooded over her, tingling at the very edges of her pelt. It was obvious to even her that she enjoyed Troutwhisker's company quite a lot. She considered him as a close friend, just as close as she was with her parents and littermate. Yet there was a difference in the affection she held for Troutwhisker than the affection she had for her family. With her family, the feelings were purely platonic, familial. With Troutwhisker...well, there was something strange there, something different. It was affection, Brightclaw knew that feeling well, but this sort of affection was warmer, deeper, like she was wading into darkest areas of the Ocean though she wasn't afraid.
The ginger and white tabby shuffled her paws. "Do...do you think he likes me too?" The words came out soft, tentative. What would Mosslight have to say about this? The smaller scout seemed interested in the prospect of her brother becoming mates with Brightclaw, but how did Troutwhisker himself feel about that? Had he even talked to his sister about all this, Brightclaw wondered with bated breath. Every now and then she would fantasize about living her life with a loving mate at her side in the way Coralstep and Coppershore had one another, but it wasn't something the tabby had focused all her time on. Becoming friends with and growing closer to Troutwhisker had all been a coincidence, an event that had happened only because they had ran into one another some Flower Nights ago. In a way it was romantic, Brightclaw could admit that, but how did Troutwhisker feel about it all?

"Brightclaw, I'm gonna be honest"she said, smile on her face as she shook her head"He's very oblivious to his own feelings, but he obviously feels the same as you"she explained. She stretched a bit before taking another bite"he talks about you so fondly"

Cassia Yoko's concern struck Cassia like a sharp rod of lightning. She stumbled over her own feet as she stood motionless before retrieving her usual pace. The calico wanted to hide the truth from Yoko, for she deemed it as something that'd gnaw on her pride. However, there was no way to sweep the harsh reality away anymore; Cassia didn't know the answer to this question.
"I don't know," she said, swallowing an anxiety as foul-tasting as mouse bile.
