Cassia Cassia turned around, pelt bristling and eyes wide. She scoffed, ears drooping as Yoko spoke. "Just... just, don't.. don't do that anymore. I still need to find your herbs. Until you've healed, don't leave the den," she mumbled. Her paws shuffled awkwardly, and it seemed something still lingered on the tip of her tongue, and after a couple of moments, she finally opened her mouth to speak.
"I don't think I can let you go back by yourself," she meowed, then quickly added, "I don't mean to doubt you, but, your leg looks worse then yesterday. I can't.. I mean, you can't risk to go back in that condition. What if you ran into one of those Clanny cats?"

Windsong
Windsong smiled, the naming ceremony for the three young cats warming his heart as he remember his own apprentice days. They were not too far away, for he had become a healer just a couple of moons ago. He still had much to learn, but it did not bother him as much as it used to. He could always turn to his fellow healers for help.
With a spring in his step he rushed to greet the new apprentices. They would be joining him in the healers' den, afterall, and he ought to try and befriend them.
"Hello, Kiwiheart! And, hello Dovepaw, Sunsetpaw! I look forward to working with you two," he said excitedly, a purr tinting his voice in a friendly manner as he spoke.

Tigerpaw »
Tigerpaw understood exactly what Ripplemist meant in her first statement. His nostalgia for his apprentice ceremony couldn’t have been as poignant as her own considering she was a full warrior while he was still in his ‘paw days, but he had a glimpse of what she was feeling. One day he would understand her deeper emotions. He hoped, at least. For as patient as he was, it did sometimes feel like he would never be given his full name.
These thoughts were not allowed much traction before Ripplemist spoke up once more. Tigerpaw’s ears perked, swiveling frontward to take in what the black molly had just asked. A low mrrrow rolled off the tabby’s tongue. ”I guess it’s going alright. Coconutfall’s been going over a lot of leader skills with me. Though…” He paused monetarily, inwardly wondering if he should continue with his train of thought. After mulling it over a moment longer, he decided he could trust Ripplemist with this. She was his friend, and what was friendship if there was no trust? ”He’s not confident in his teachings. I don’t think he believes he’s the right cat to mentor me anymore, but he’s stuck with me because who else would teach me, ya know?” Tigerpaw’s bright blue gaze slowly looked up to Ripplemist, curious, searching for any signs of how she may react to such a vulnerable statement about their leader. As a kit Coconutfall had appeared as the perfect leader, a cat to look up to, but now that he was older and now that secrets had been revealed, Tigerpaw couldn’t help but wonder if Coconutfall had lost every ounce of leadership he had once carried.
Confusion soon glinted in his eyes, dancing like minnows in the shallows. Tigerpaw’s head tilted to the side. ”Why ya sorry?” He asked, not sure why Ripplemist was offering an apology. ”It’s boring without all my friends, too. I mean, you, Lionfang, Whiteshark, and Batfall are all fully responsible Clan cats now. Hyacinthpaw is still an apprentice like me, but in a few moons she’ll be a full scout so her training has gotten a lot more intense.” Tigerpaw sighed, once again wondering when he would receive his full name, but he shook the reverie away. ”Maybe I can ask Coconutfall if I can go on with a hunters’ patrol sometime soon. I’d like to learn how every rank does their job,” he mused, offering the molly in front of him a wide smile, hoping this would brighten her mood.

Yoko
Yoko's heart swelled with gratitude as he listened to Cassia's words. "Thank you, Cassia. I appreciate your concern," he said, his voice softening with sincerity. "And I'm grateful for your offer to stay with me." He gave her a sly grin. "But I'm afraid you'll have to keep up with my clumsy, wounded self for a little while longer."
He shifted his weight, wincing slightly as his injured leg protested the movement. "In all seriousness though, I promise to do my best to help you however I can," he added, determination shining in his bright amber eyes. "I owe you that much for all the trouble I've caused." He paused for a moment, gathering his thoughts. "And who knows, maybe we'll make a good team," he said, giving her a playful wink.
Yoko couldn't help but notice how beautiful Cassia looked amidst the lush greenery of the jungle, her fur glistening in the warm sunlight. As he took in her appearance, he felt a flutter in his chest and couldn't resist flashing her a playful grin. He quickly cleared his throat, trying to regain his composure. "But, um, let's focus on getting me healed up first, okay?" he said, hoping to lighten the mood.
As he waited for Cassia's next move, Yoko's mind couldn't help but wander to thoughts he knew he shouldn't entertain. He asked himself why he viewed her in that light, denying any romantic feelings and convincing himself that he only saw her as a companion. Yet, the mere thought of having her as a lover made his stomach have butterflies. But even if he did have feelings for Cassia, Yoko knew that he wouldn't know how she would react. He had always found it difficult to read her and wasn't sure if she felt the same way. Plus, with his injured leg, he couldn't help but feel like a burden to her. Yoko pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind and instead concentrated on his recovery, determined to prove himself useful and worthy of her companionship. He couldn't afford to be distracted, not when his survival in the jungle depended on his ability to stay alert and focused, especially when the clan cats were still a threat to the pair.

Cassia
Cassia, comforted by the tom's willingness to cooperate, began to explain which type of herb they were looking for. "I know the name of one of the herbs, it's aloe vera. I remember I hated pronouncing it. Its' main use is that it has a sort of sticky goop inside its' leaves. And the other one is really leafy and big, and it tastes and smells really bitter," she said, her voice flat and clear as if she were a professional healer; she was definitely not.
"Those are the only two herbs I know, though, so we've got to be careful, since I have no idea what any other leafy thing does." She looked at Yoko, and it occurred to her for the millionth time that the white loner had a dazzling shine in his eye like no other. She ignored the twisted feeling in her gut and turned around, sniffing the air for any bitter, tangy sparks of scent.

Ripplemist Ripplemist nodded solemnly. "I understand. I guess he's kinda feeling remorseful after everything, but I don't think that's a good reason for him to neglect your training," she meowed, whiskers twitching as she mentioned the Oracle. Ever since Tigerpaw had gotten the scare of his young life the very night the two had snuck out, Ripplemist had grown to hate Coconutfall. She began to realize just how incompetent he was as a leader, and how, in her eyes, he should be replaced as soon as possible. Yet she did not want that, either; Tigerpaw did not deserve to carry the burden of leadership so young.
"It'd be so fun, you'd see, to go on a hunting patrol. Even when I don't catch anything, it's quite exciting," she meowed happily, attempting to drive Coconutfall away from her mind.
Suddenly she got an idea; what would Tigerpaw say, if she asked him to go hunting together, alone, like a couple of moons ago? Maybe he'd perceive her as too reckless. However it may be, Ripplemist did not want to risk their friendship. It'd risk the Neophyte receiving another terrifying vision like a couple of moons ago, too. Whatever it was about, the she-cat was sure it was not to be taken lightly.

Coralstep
Coralstep smiled, having seen the new apprentices. Yet she was quite tired, having seen the same ceremony repeat itself several times in her life; she would have to admit, she only really cared for her daughters' ceremonies, and tried to be the loudest voice at their ceremonies, along with her mate, Coppershore.
Coppershore... where could he have possibly gone? With a curious twitch of her whiskers she noticed he was nowhere to be seen, at least not in her line of vision. She stood up, turning away from the newly-made apprentices.
But before she could begin scanning the camp for his orange pelt, she hastily remembered she'd agreed to accompany him on a trip to the jungle. Seeing as he was a healer, and healers tended to force cats to eat lots of leaves, it was quite clear he'd probably need more leaves. Coralstep shrugged; she was not too fond of healing, but whatever made Coppershore happy made her happy.
She stepped into the healers' den, eyes narrowing at the sight of her nemesis, a hoard of leaves, neatly and carefully arranged. "Anyone here," she said, still eyeing the green bouquet.

Yoko
The white cat nodded, trying to keep up with the information. "Aloe vera and a big, bitter leaf," he repeated, trying to commit the details to memory. He felt overwhelmed by the task ahead of them; finding the right herbs in a vast jungle was no easy feat. He couldn't afford to make a mistake and bring back the wrong herb, which could make his injury worse or have no effect at all. He let out a deep sigh, feeling the weight of the responsibility on his shoulders.
"I hope we come across them soon," he said, scanning the area for any sign of the herbs. "I don't want to slow you down or put you in danger any longer than I have to." He tried to put on a brave face, but the worry was evident in his tone. The last thing he wanted was to burden Cassia with his injury any longer than necessary.
He limped after her, feeling a sense of gratitude for her presence. "You know, Cassia, even though I've said this many times ever since we found that abandoned two-leg place, but I don't think I could have made it this far without you," he said, his voice softening. "I'm lucky to have you as my companion." He gave her a small smile, hoping to convey his appreciation.
As they searched for the herbs together, Yoko tried to ignore the pain in his leg, pushing himself to keep up with Cassia. Companion...Companion... Yoko thought to himself. But is it appropriate to call her my companion? It implies a closer relationship than we have. Then again, we've been through so much together, maybe it's fitting. Yoko paused for a moment, lost in thought. I don't want to give her the wrong idea though. I value our friendship, but I don't want to make things awkward. He shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts. Focus on finding those herbs Yoko, he reminded himself. He knew he couldn't let these thoughts slow him down, not when they were so close to finding the herbs he needed. (tag: ☾—ivy。˚⊹♪:¨ ·)

Cassia
Cassia's pelt felt as if she had waded in a deep pool of hot water as Yoko spoke. "Well... I suppose you're not so bad yourself," she teased, an attempt to mask the flustered feeling lingering beneath her fur. "But, really, I'm glad you were there when that Clan cat attacked us. You're the reason I'm not hurt," she meowed, sincere gratitude in her voice this time.
She shuffled through the thick grass of the jungle, and finally found one of the thick plants. She snapped one of the leaves in half, and when she saw the cool gel slip out from the leaf, she smiled proudly. "I've found the aloe!"

Yoko
Yoko grinned at Cassia's teasing words, feeling a small sense of satisfaction. "I knew it," he teased back, nudging her gently with his shoulder. "You're finally starting to warm up to me!" The cat let out a small purr before focusing back to the task as soon as he heard Cassia's voice.
As Cassia found the aloe and broke open the plant, Yoko couldn't help but feel a sense of disgust at the sight of the thick goo. He tried not to show it too much, though, knowing that it was necessary to help his own injury. He looked around, searching for the other herb they needed. "What about the large, bitter leafy herb?" he asked. "We still need to find that one, too."
He looked around, searching for the other herb they needed. "What about the large, leafy herb?" he asked. "We still need to find that one, too." He then stopped himself and sat down to rest, he turned to the calico molly. "Cassia," he said, his voice carrying a hint of skepticism. "How in the world do you know all this stuff about healing herbs?"
"I mean, the average cat doesn't really know this type of stuff," he continued, his expression puzzled. "I've traveled around the territory all my life and even then I still don't know any cat who would know about this kind of stuff. Except for maybe some of those Clan cats"
Yoko scanned around the area, his eyes flicking from leaf to leaf, hoping he can spot something from afar to prevent him from standing around. "It's almost as if you have a secret herbalist mentor of some sort," he joked, a small grin appearing on his narrow face.(tag: ☾—ivy。˚⊹♪:¨ ·)

Cassia
The calico narrowed her eyes. "Hm, you kind of guessed.. My mother knew lots of stuff about herbs. The bitter one, aloe and anise are the only herbs I know. I knew more then I know right now, but I forgot as time passed, sadly. Once I left home I never really used herbs much," she said, eyes glazing over with love and nostalgia for her family.
She nosed around the grass, ears twitching in frustration. At once she winced, the bitter, tangy scent of the infection-preventing herb reaching her nose. "Ugh, that's definitely it, ew," she mewed, plucking the herb and placing it next to herself.

Yoko
Yoko watched as Cassia plucked the herb and placed it beside her. "That's incredible that your mother knew so much about herbs," he said, admiration in his voice. "I'm glad you know about them too, or else I'd be in trouble with this infection getting worse."
Despite being impressed earlier, Yoko was still hesitant to use both the bitter leaf and aloe vera, worried that it would ruin his pristine white fur and leave the same smell the leaf carried onto his leg. He was a cat that prided himself on his cleanliness, and the thought of having sticky, herb-infused fur made him cringe.
"Are you sure about this, Cassia?" he asked, looking up at her with a slightly worried expression. "I mean, I appreciate you helping me, but... my fur," he trailed off, gesturing to his sleek coat.
He shifted his weight uneasily, unsure of what to do. "But I don't want the infection to get worse either. What do you think we should do next?" he asked, his eyes flicking back to Cassia. He hoped she had a solution that would work without compromising his cleanliness. (tag:☾—ivy。˚⊹♪:¨ ·)

Cassia
The calico sighed, an exasperated look on her face. "You know, it really won't be that bad. If you're so worried, perhaps we could find some flowers to mask the scent of the poultice." She paused, folding the bitter tasting leaf by nudging it. "Although, the smell isn't too strong."
She began to scratch and claw at the big leaf in order to make it softer, the bitter scent travelling through the air as she kneaded it. She then used the broken aloe from earlier, and spilled its' gooey contents onto the bitter herb. The poultice looked quite alright.

Yoko
Yoko wrinkled his nose as he watched Cassia prepare the poultice. "I suppose you're right. Flowers would help cover the scent. But I do take pride in my cleanliness, you should know by now," he meowed, licking his paw and grooming his fur meticulously. "I don't want to compromise that."
He leaned forward and sniffed at the poultice, his nose crinkling at the smell. "It doesn't smell too pleasant, but if it will help heal my leg, then I suppose it's worth it."
His heart pounded in anticipation , dreading the moment the molly would apply whatever medicine she made onto his wound. Would it make it better or worse? Yoko didn't know the outcomes, but knowing that he had such low pain tolerance didn't help his case. All the cat wanted to do was go back to the den and simply rest with Cassia. Maybe to also watch the sun set with Cassia, with her eyes reflecting the warmth and radiance of the fading sun as he imagined the two of them basking in the beauty of the land they lived on. But no, he was here, injured and now with the possibility of making his beloved coat ruined by some goopy substance with a weird smell. (tag: ☾—ivy。˚⊹♪:¨ ·)

Tigerpaw »
The tip of Tigerpaw’s tail twitched ever so slightly at Ripplemist’s words, the movement a mere breeze of the wind. His jaw set a little tighter, eyes glancing downward as a thought clouded his mind - how did Ripplemist feel about Coconutfall? It was no secret that more and more of the Clan were beginning to reject the oracle's leadership, demanding that a new cat be named as the rightful leader. Even Tigerpaw himself felt as if he should denounce his rank and allow another cat to take his spot, but deep down he knew that this was what he was meant to do. He was meant to be the oracle after his father. The Ocean had spoken to him, had whispered in his ear and had given him a vision. The connection to the water was there, he could feel it in his very soul, but how could he prove that? How could he get the Clan to believe that he was meant for this task without coming across as entitled? He wondered if this was something he could talk to Ripplemist about, but he wasn’t entirely sure where the black molly’s opinions now lay. Not that they had ever deep dived into that conversation - Tigerpaw had kept a lot of his doubts to himself, bringing them up only to Coconutfall and Gingerbreeze, though only shallow. He had yet to venture into the deeper territory of those thoughts with another cat.
Sheepishly he brought his eyes back upward, looking at Ripplemist. ”I wouldn’t say he’s neglecting my training.” Maybe at the start of this all there had been a neglect in training, but tensions were high, shocking news had just been revealed, of course Coconutfall wouldn’t want to train the son he had not been able to claim as a kit. ”He’s doing his best given the circumstances, and I mean, I’m advancing in my training!” He chirped, suddenly feeling not as heavy. ”I know how to do ceremonies now.” Not that it was exactly hard to do. Most of it just involved reciting the proper words in front of the Clan, but behind every word there needed to be the power of the Ocean, there needed to be a call to the fallen ancestors so that they could hear a new cat bestowed upon them and be welcomed into the Clan with the ancestors’ blessing.
Tigerpaw’s tongue remained heavy with words yet spoken, but before he could say anything more Ripplemist changed the topic. The young tom’s ears perked forward. A gentle smile pulled at his lips, head tilting ever so slightly to the side. ”Are there any hunting patrols already out? If not we could go if you’d like,” he suggested warmly. It had been a while since he had last done anything outside of his neophyte training, and hanging out with Ripplemist was always exciting. ”We’ll just need to get a scout if they aren’t already all busy…” His tail twitched as he glanced around camp, wondering which scouts would be open to the idea of taking him and Ripplemist hunting. Tigerpaw would have suggested Whiteshark, but she would be taking Creekpaw down to the Ocean. He wondered if Lionfang or Batfall would be able to take them, eyes now scanning the camp for any signs of either of them.

Ripplemist "Oh. Well, that's good. I don't know, I was... you're my friend, ya know. And I was kind of worried about you. But it's good your training's going well," she mumbled, fixing her gaze on the ground. "I think the Clan's stupid stories got to me."
She snickered as Tigerpaw scanned the camp for a scout. Her eyes flickered with anticipation, the corners of her mouth slowly forming into a grin. "It seems to me they are busy," she said, barely containing her laughter. "I wonder where everyone's gone." Sarcasm was probably her favorite concept in the whole wide world.

Cassia
The calico she-cat sighed, ears drooping. "Alright. This will burn, and it'll be a bit cold. Brace yourself." She smothered her paw in the gooey substance, beginning to apply it on Yoko's injured leg. Just now did she notice how much he had been picking at it. "Don't pick your wounds. It'll make it even worse."
As she wiped her paws from the poultice, her mind drifted to another topic. What where the two cats going to do about the fact they had not gotten a proper meal in a couple of days? Perhaps she'd need to fish. Fishing was probably the idea that was the easiest to execute..
She wrapped the loner's leg using another one of the bitter leaves. They were quite large, covering most of the pristine white fur on Yoko's leg.
"Concerning your fur, I know you take pride in it, so I could help with it. I think it'd be best to use a damp leaf or rag to clean your fur to keep yourself clean and to avoid eating any of this goop."

Tigerpaw »
Had Tigerpaw said the wrong thing? He wondered if the right response to the molly was to agree that Coconutfall was neglecting his training, but that wasn’t the case. Perhaps the oracle could be a better mentor, but so many things - so many new, foreign things - were happening in the Clan right now that surely any mentor would struggle with training their apprentice here and there. He didn’t want to speak ill about his father, but Tigerpaw could tell that something was on Ripplemist’s mind, something that had her guarding herself from him. The young brown tabby shuffled a paw over the ground before leaning forward the press his nose into her shoulder fur as a sign of comfort. For what it was worth he felt glad she had his best interest in mind. Ripplemist was a good friend, even if they had slightly different opinions.
Tigerpaw pulled away to scan the camp for any signs of a scout, specifically Lionfang or Batfall. Batfall was just barely noticeable, and right as Tigerpaw got his hopes up, he noticed that the brown tom was huddled near Redwave and Jacarandabloom. The neophyte’s tail lowered. It was best not to bother the trio, especially not after what had happened at the ceremony. ”Guess we’re stuck in camp, then,” Tigerpaw sighed, clearly crestfallen about the lack of scouts. Most were probably already out on patrols, Tigerpaw thought. Ripplemist and he had been too slow with their plans. He shook his head, freeing himself of the disappointment to look at his friend with a newfound smile. ”We can just find something in camp to do then!”

Yoko
Yoko winced as the poultice was applied to his wound, feeling a mix of burning and cold sensations. But he kept his mouth shut, not wanting to seem like a whiner in front of Cassia. "I know, I know," he muttered, "I won't pick at it anymore." He watched her work on his leg, her focus unwavering. He couldn't help but admire her skill and determination.
As she wrapped his leg with a bitter leaf, his stomach rumbled loudly, causing him to blush in embarrassment. He hoped Cassia hadn't heard it. He cleared his throat awkwardly. "Um, sorry about that. Trailing you for a while has made me pretty hungry," he admitted sheepishly. "But thanks for helping me with my leg. I appreciate it." He hoped his gratitude was enough to make up for his embarrassing stomach. "I hope this will do the trick and my leg won't get any worse." He flexed his leg slightly, already feeling a bit of relief from the poultice. The tom couldn't help but grin mischievously. "But if it does, I know who to blame for putting that nasty poultice on me."
Yoko's stomach grumbled even louder, and he could feel his face heating up in embarrassment. "I'm sorry, Cassia. I'm just so hungry," he admitted sheepishly. "But I'm tired of eating the same old mice and birds. I've been craving fish lately. Maybe we could try hunting by the ocean? The fish there are supposed to be plumper than the ones in the lake." He paused, looking thoughtful. "But we have to be careful not to get caught by the clan cats. Still, I think it's worth the risk." He grinned, despite the throbbing ache in his leg. "I might be injured, but I'd still protect you, Cassia." He let out a soft purr at the end of his sentence and looked at Cassia with his amber eyes, his intentions clearly twinkling. He gave a soft smile to Cassia and waited for the molly's answer.(tag: ☾—ivy。˚⊹♪:¨ · )

Cassia
Cassia's ears perked up, fur growing hot as she looked away, flustered. "Hah.. yeah, we could, um, go fishing there," she mumbled quickly, tail tip twitching with unease. Why was this flustered feeling beginning to appear more and more often in the past few moons?
But, he would protect her. That felt quite nice, to have another cat by her side. As annoying and confusing his antics could get sometimes, the tom seemed to care for those he found close, Cassia noticed.
"Well, we ought to get going if we want to get anything done by sunset," she remarked, her pelt growing itchier as she spoke.

Ripplemist Ripplemist squeaked, a quiet 'oh!', as Tigerpaw pressed his nose to her shoulder. Did he really think she needed comfort? Had she been a bit too distant? Maybe what she said had given it away. Guilt gnawed at Ripplemist's mind; perhaps she was too harsh on Coconutfall.
No, that was not the case. No matter what she felt for Tigerpaw, she could not change her opinion for another cat. Although she respected what the neophyte had to say about him, she felt he was a bit too soft on the oracle; despite what he had done, the tom was still Tigerpaw's father.
"Well, that's fine. I think there's still things to do," she muttered, feeling equally as crestfallen and disappointed as the neophyte. Yet his unwavering smile seemed to retrieve some of her enthusiasm. "You're right, maybe we could try finding some dens to patch or cats to help!"
