Crocodilefang »
”Basiltail!” Shouted Crocodilefang. A hint of worry echoed into his voice, hoping that the tom would be able to fend his attacker off. Crocodilefang didn’t doubt his fellow scout’s skills, but these rogues were muscular and battle-scarred, clearly veterans of fights. But Crocodilefang was also an expert on battles. He knew when to react and when to investigate, and right now he knew he needed to take a step back and inspect the enemies.
Scrutinizing the scuffle between Basiltail and the rogue, Crocodilefang quickly realized that the rogue was growing tired. Good, he thought to himself; Basiltail could handle the weary tomcat himself. The brown tabby scout was quick on his paws and full of energy still, he would make quick work of the rogue charging him.
Now if Crocodilefang had to be honest, he had hoped to steer clear from any fighting. He enjoyed any chance he got to unsheathe his claws and bare his fangs, but the scout was well aware that they had a healer with them on this patrol. His safety was a priority regardless on if he was annoying or not; avoiding battle would have guaranteed Whalespirit’s safety, but now something could happen, and Crocodilefang had to make sure nothing did.
Certain that Basiltail could fend for himself, Crocodilefang turned on the molly rogue. Baring his fangs he lunged forward, aiming for her paws to knock her off balance. While stout himself, he was still small. Taking down a larger enemy needed to be swift on his part, and luckily he knew just how to do that.
Dovekit »
Tiredness still had a hold of his body, stiff in his limbs and dusting his eyes, but that didn’t deter the little kit from wanting to play. Dovekit could feel the energy sparking within him, a youthful surge that needed to get out. The time for napping was over.
As soon as he got permission from Cliffstorm that he could join in on the tussle, Dovekit leaped forward. A shriek of laughter came from him as he pounced on Cliffstorm’s tail, clearly not following the one rule the tomcat had put into place.
Nearby Skinkstripe watched the three. Dovekit could feel her presence not too far away, and knowing that his mother was around gave him a little bit of confidence he typically didn’t have. A nervous sort, Dovekit wasn’t the type to throw himself into any sort of situation headfirst. Even something as simple as playing with his siblings or his older cousin could be difficult for him if he didn’t feel secure. Having Skinkstripe around helped a lot, and whenever Whalespirit could visit made Dovekit feel self assured in his actions. He enjoyed the company of his parents, their presence giving him the little boost of confidence he needed.

Redwave »
Redwave shook the rain off his pelt once he stepped inside camp. Duskflight and he had made it back before the rain got too had to navigate in, but had they waited just a few more minutes then it would have been better for them to find shelter elsewhere instead of chance it going back to camp. He wasn’t dry by any means, his fur cling uncomfortably close to his stocky frame on parts of his body, but he wasn’t completely soaked through. Silently he thanked the Ocean for that.
While he wanted to head to the hunters’ den and dry himself off in the comforts of his nest - how many days had he been away from his nest now? Surely it would be time to clean it out - he knew that idea wouldn’t be the smartest. With the storm raging outside there was no way he’d be able to go out there to collect new bedding for himself, and dragging his wet body in there would only soak the nest as well. With a huff he resigned himself to a corner in camp. With the angle he could just make out the healers’ den, and he wondered how his sister, Lilypool, was fairing. Like the rest of his family he had been distant from her. His loyalty to his family had not dwindled - save for Coconutfall but he didn’t consider that piece of betraying dung family anymore - but it had been hard for him to want to interact with them. Regret squeezed his chest for snapping at his mother a few days prior, but he had been so angry, so bitter…even now he still was. Now, though, that anger was being used for something else. Archwhisker and Dusklight had helped him redirect his emotions into something more than just a snappish temper and hurtful words. Now he had an idea, a plan, something that he could act out and see through.
A new flame lit inside him despite how soaked he looked in the current moment. Dusklight’s advice echoed in his head, reminding him that he needed to gather Clanmates to stand for his cause. Perhaps he could start with his sisters and mother. Surely they would be the most understanding toward his plight.
Movement outside the healers’ den caught his attention. Hoping it would perhaps be Lilypool he pushed himself back to his paws and started toward the den, only to abruptly stop when there was no familiar tabico stepping outside but instead it was the simple calico pelt of Splashstone. Redwave grumbled. He turned to head back, annoyance squaring his shoulders and stiffening his pace.

Feathertalon - Redwave -------------- Splashstone exited the Healer's Den, her step light and her tail high in the sky. She seemed to be in a chipper mood since she tended to love the rain. While she was a bit prudish about how clean her coat was, the rain seemed inevitable so she grew to like it. She carried a small pouch made from the extra leaves she found in order to make gathering and carrying herbs easier for her. As her bi-colored eyes settled on the red tabby tom, she immediately dropped it to the ground and called out to Redwave. "Redwave! Oh, I am glad to see you. Do you happen to be busy right now?" She asked, approaching the tom, leaving her pouch by the entryway of the Healer's Den. As she approached, she could see that he was soaked and she couldn't help but let out a small huff of laughter. She quickly held herself back by placing her paw over her muzzle, but it escaped before she could even hope to cover it. "Where have you been that you would happen to be so...wet?" She giggled, trying her best to keep it together.

Redwave »
The moment he heard his name come from the calico molly was the moment he gritted his teeth and let a growl rumble in his throat. Just by her tone of voice he could tell she was in an exceptionally happy mood, and happy wasn't something Redwave could deal with today. Or usually, really. At least not to the extreme it seemed to be with Splashstone.
Looking over his shoulder at the healer, he offered a glare, eyes narrowed and face tight. Duskflight had told him to be cordial to his Clanmates, to hear them out and listen to what they had to say, but he was covered in rain and Splashstone was coming off way too strongly for him right now. "Busy? I'm soaking wet. I was about to dry off." The growl lingered in his words as he spoke, but surprisingly enough his voice wasn't as sharp as it could be. Annoyance, however, was still clear, written all over him. "Outside. I didn't get wet by being in camp," he replied to her question, ears now angled back, not quite flat against his head, but close. Was this molly lizard-brained? It sure seemed like it, why else would she have asked such a stupid question that had such an obvious answer? It made no sense to Redwave and already he was itching to get away from the calico molly.

Feathertalon - Redwave ------------ When Redwave had turned to look her way, Splashstone immediately knew what kind of tone this conversation was about to take. She took a deep breath, knowing that whatever was to come out of his mouth was not due to her, but most likely due to his grumpy stature. She was used to dealing with the grumpy though, being a healer meant she had to deal with her clanmates when they are at their worst. She plopped down in front of Redwave, her tail wrapping around her paws and she listened to his answers with an open mind. "I see. Well, could I offer you a quick trip outside to find some new bedding? I have to gather a few herbs, and I figured we could possibly go together." She offered, with a kind, and more mellowed-out tone. She could tell that Redwave was not in the mood to have her bouncing around like a kit, although she typically felt that way. She did tend to have that effect on her fellow clanmates, however. She tried her best to stay calm, but it simply slips out the way that her laughter had when she saw the soaking tom. "If you think about it, the rain is a blessing. It is almost like the ocean has been brought to us!" She purred, trying her best to try and cheer him up even by the littlest of means.

Redwave »
"I'm not going back outside." His response was immediate and adamant. There was no way he was going back out there in the storm regardless on who asked. He'd say no to his mother and his sisters if they wanted him to go outside, though that was a very unlikely scenario. None of his littermates or their mother would be crazy enough to leave camp in this weather. "You're not going out there, either." As if to prove his point thunder rumbled in the sky, loud and clear. It sounded angry. "Besides, I saw Lilypool and Seabreeze come back earlier. They had plenty of herbs with them."
The red tom went on to ignore Splashstone's comment on the rain. The land needed rain, but that didn't mean Redwave had to enjoy it. It was one thing to enjoy the feel of the Ocean's waves lapping at his paws, but getting pelted by a rain shower was another. Redwave couldn't quite explain the difference, or why rain annoyed him when it soaked his pelt, but it just did, and that wasn't something he had to explain to Splashstone or even himself.

Feathertalon - Redwave ----------------- The molly let out a small breath of disappointment and hunched over a little, her posture telling of her mindset. She cared not for the bad reputation that rain had or how the storms made their precious ocean rage. She enjoyed being in the midst of it, but if it was really as bad as Redwave said, maybe she would reconsider. "Was it really all that bad? Or are you just not looking to get wet again?" She half teased and half asked this question. If he was just not looking to get wet again, she would simply do this herself. "You have a good point. I just wanted to stock up on some more of the herbs that may be needed for more common issues. I feel like we run out of those faster and I have been aching to get out of camp." She explained, her voice turning a little more pleading.

Pearlcloud [-] Camp; Healer's den [-] Open
She gave a sharp breath as her paw touched the ground. Still sore then, great. Another thing to add to the list. It took the silvery grey she-cat another few moments to gather her willpower --Pearlcloud didn't really have a lot of that to begin with, she was working on it-- and with that frustrated thought she managed to take the step (okay, limp) out of her nest. She looked around the space, noticing that the cats inside were soaked, but not asleep, her heart fluttering in her chest like a trapped hummingbird as panic seared through her. Was it already past sunhigh? She had places to be! Patrols, hunting, something--
Pearlcloud's head snapped as she looked to see if anyone noticed her missing. Surely someone would have complained she'd shirked her duties, she'd be in trouble! It took a few moments of searing panic standing rooted in the middle of the den before she remembered: she'd been given the morning off to heal after twisting her paw the night before. It was alright, she was allowed the time to rest.
With a deep, shuddering breath, Pearlcloud reined in her panic. Focus, she told herself, looking around more slowly and counting the seconds between breaths. As the frantic emotion calmed from frothing breakers into cresting waves, then to a gentle lap of the tide, she remembered she was to visit the healers to replace the poultice before anything else. Pearlcloud relaxed into the command, allowing the healers' wisdom to pull her paws out of the warrior's den, though she paused at the entrance, peering into the storm.
Again, it took a moment for Pearlcloud to gather the courage to brave the storm, though less so now that she had a goal in mind. It wasn't far to the healer's den, she could see the entrance even through the curtains of rain. Without giving herself time to doubt, she darted forward, hissing as her sore paw touched the ground, but made it across the clearing without issue.
She flicked her tail as she limped inside, looking around to see if any of the cats were readily available. She didn't want to bother anyone, after all, if they were busy with an important patient.
Ivorycliff [-] Camp; alcove [-] Open
He was glad the wind was blowing away from the cliffside, allowing the white and cream tomcat to shelter beneath a slight alcove in the stone. Ivorycliff enjoyed watching the leaves turn silver with the bouncing raindrops, loved the sharp smell of wet earth under his paws, and even appreciated his damp fur, cool where the wind brushed through it.
The large tomcat squared his shoulders, taking a deep breath of the stormy, wet air. He could taste it, almost electric in its freshness, and he looked up to the roiling clouds.
It was at times like these that the normally excitable tom felt mellowed, as if he were hollowed out and the rain had filled all the holes, sloshing around. But in a pleasant, fulfilling way: he felt as if he were given purpose, being a vessel in which the rain flowed through. Like a portion of the sea was inside of him. Ivorycliff thought that the storms were the closest he'd get to feeling like the first HibiscusClan warriors, who lived in the sea before walking the land.
Calm, he caught himself with a purr rumbling in his chest.

Brownie - Ivorycliff --------------------- Hawkpelt stretched his way out of the Scout's den and a large yawn pried his jaws apart. He shook out his back leg and sat to the side of the den. He neatly wrapped his fluffy tail neatly around his paws. He took a deep breath, breathing in the lovely smell of the rain. Splashstone, being the excitable molly that she was, always told anyone that the, 'rain was like the ocean, but brought to us' and she would tell anyone that was listening that. He shook his head to himself thinking about his good friend, but how clumsy she was when it came to social interaction. Point and case being who she chose to talk to this time. His icy eyes settled on his friend who was talking to Redwave, and he couldn't help but laugh at the obvious comparison in their stature. The long-haired tom then scanned the camp in order to find something to do. There was not much going on from what he could tell since it was storming out. While they were advised to keep themselves cautious during storms, Hawkpelt enjoyed sneaking out to the Soft Sands in order to catch glimpse of the raging ocean. He had decided to do this once more. He caught sight of Ivorycliff and began to stroll over to him to offer the chance to the older tom. Hawkpelt figured that maybe he would enjoy it, seeing how calm he was during storms. "Ivorycliff, how are you doing?" He asked, his voice deep and almost sleepy.

Ivorycliff [-] Camp; alcove [-] Hawkpelt Splashstone
Ivorycliff watched the camp. From his perch, slightly above the camp and behind even the furthest den, he could see the cats wandering in the rain. Some kept under cover, using the broad leaves of overhanging plants to keep them dry, others wandered as if it were the brightest of sunshine. Hawkpelt was one of the latter, the long-furred brown tom soaked as he approached Ivorycliff's perch. The white tom flicked his ear in greeting. "Enjoying the rain," he replied, a small smile touching his muzzle. "As are you?" The statement was turned at the end, a question, though it wasn't really. Cats that didn't like the storms were shut away in the bark-protected dens, waiting out the wet. Ivorycliff pitied those cats, since it rained every day for at least half the year; he couldn't imagine not enjoying it while it lasted. As much as he enjoyed watching the rain, being soaked to the bone wasn't Ivorycliff's favorite. But he couldn't have Hawkpelt showing him up, the younger cat standing in the downpour, and so Ivorycliff stood, stretched, and abandoned the dry alcove, pushing his way into the rain to approach the other scout.

Brownie - Ivorycliff ---------------------- "That's good to hear. You and I are one of the few who actually enjoy the rain." Hawkpelt chuckled gently before he sat beside the tom. "Would you like to come with me to the Soft Sands? I like to see how the ocean reacts to all this rain." He admitted, turning to look at Ivorycliff for an answer. It was not as if going out was against the rules, but it was advised that they be cautious in conditions such as these. Hawkpelt was always careful to make sure he was at a safe distance from the ocean, and that he was not out too long. Otherwise, his friend would have to treat him for a cold, and he already knew how that was going to go. He wouldn't be allowed from the Scout's Den for ages if it were up to her. He shook the idea off of him, and shuddered at the idea of having to stay still for that long.

Ivorycliff [-] Camp; alcove [-] Hawkpelt Splashstone
Ivorycliff dipped his head in agreement; he was surprised to see so many cats darting between dens in the storm. The younger cat's suggestion to go to the Soft Sands surprised him even more, though. "The ocean during a storm is a different beast," the older scout said, half a warning, but with plenty of longing as well. The white tom cast his gaze over the trees, trying to catch a glimpse of the waves, but with the sheets of rain and the mist, he couldn't make it out. He hadn't gone out in the storm in what seemed like years. The last time had been with Flameswoop... The raindrops pattering against his fur was like a call, a drumbeat urging him forward. "And I would like to see it again," Ivorycliff replied. Was it dangerous to be out in the storm? Certainly so, but every day was dangerous in its own way, and the senior scout had plenty of experience being stuck out in a storm. So long as they were respectful of the storm's strength and the ocean's fury, they would be safe enough; even if he hadn't wanted to go --which he did, the rain thrumming deeply in his ears, singing, calling-- Ivorycliff would want to follow the younger cat and keep Hawkpelt from doing anything too impulsive. It would be better to have another cat around if they were to be tempting the water spirits. Ivorycliff's paws knew the fastest path, and so the older tom led the way. "Have you been to the ocean during a storm before?" he asked.

Redwave »
The storm wasn’t terrible, there had been worse tempests to have battered the island in Redwave’s life, but he sure wouldn’t call the current storm a mere drizzle. The wind was rough outside, and the Ocean was sure to swell with the storm’s rage, lashing out on the shore and covering the beach with murky water. Again thunder rumbled above, a crackle of electricity sparked, a sure sign that lightning had escaped from the clouds. ”It’s a storm, Splashstone. You get caught out there and it could be the end.” Dramatic perhaps, but the hunter wasn’t entirely wrong. With the winds blowing as they were, trees could be felled. ”Besides, I’m not a scout, though I doubt you knew that.” A deadly dryness settled itself into his voice at the comment, a jab at the calico. Redwave thought of her as a daft bird, chirpy and merry yet as airheaded as the clouds birds flew in.
The nub of his tail twitched. Annoyance sparked his pelt. ”If you want to go out there and get swept away by wind or water, be my guest. I’m not going out there with you. Besides,” he gestured with a paw toward the healers’ den as Pearlcloud limped herself inside, ”it looks like you have a patient.” He held no sympathy toward Splashstone. Had she wanted to stock up on common herbs then she should have earlier in the day. It wasn’t Redwave’s problem that she had waited until the heavens opened up. No amount of begging would get the tabby tom to budge on his decision - he was staying in camp for once. If Splashstone wanted to go outside so badly then so be it, but she’d be going out alone.

Brownie - Ivorycliff --------------------- Hawkpelt's eyes widened in surprise. He was actually taken aback that anyone would want to join him in the first place. "It is indeed." He agreed with the older scout and a small smile came to his face, happy he wouldn't end up alone on this trip. As they began their trek towards the Soft Sands, he matched his pace with Ivorycliff, but fell back a little allowing him to take the lead for now. "When was the last time you made your way to the Soft Sands?" Hawkpelt inquired, raising his voice over the rain a little. Since it wasn't the worst storm they had seen, Hawkpelt was not too worried about their journey. Besides, if anything were to happen, he felt confident enough in himself that he could help in most situations. He knew that as long as they kept their distance and respected the ocean's rage, they would be okay. "I have, yes. I like to sneak out when the moon is high and bright. It's beautiful when you can see it in the ocean." He purred with a fond tone in his voice. It was obvious the tom was loving the company, otherwise, he wouldn't be talking as much as he was now. --- Feathertalon - Redwave Brownie - Pearlcloud ------------------------ Splashstone breathed in the scent of the storm and the scent of heavier rains filled her nostrils. Her mood was a bit dampened by the snappiness of Redwave, but she understood what he was trying to convey. The tip of her tail twitched with a small bit of annoyance, but she kept herself level-headed. "I understand. I'll keep myself inside the camp." She said gently, her posture slouching over a bit more than what it had been. She then heard the comment about her not knowing who was what in her own clan and she snapped right back with a, "Of course I do, bees for brains!" She hissed and got up from her sitting position. The fact that Redwave would even consider the fact that she didn't know his position in the clan made her upset. All she wanted to do was go out and collect a few herbs. Obviously, Redwave didn't want to help her or himself since she offered to help him as well. She turned her tail on him as he spoke to her and headed back to the Healer's Den. However, not before she said, "At least Pearlcloud will be nice!" The molly turned to Pearlcloud and let out a small sigh to release any tension she was carrying. "I'm sorry, dear. What do you think you're doing up?" She said gently, her mood obviously a little less than what it had been a little while ago.

MISTLEFALL WITH - REDWAVE LOCATION - CAMP TAG - Feathertalon A slim figure intercepted Redwave before he could go wherever he had been planning to go. Mistlefall. Sensing something was wrong, her expression was full of concern, her two brows creased. “Are you okay, Redwave? You seem a little... frustrated.” Like her three sisters, Mistlefall had been cut off from her brother Redwave. For this once, for the sake of her large, formerly happy family, she was prepared to drop her normal grouchy personality. For peace in her family, in her clan, in her future. Her face showing genuine concern, that was the way she’s hoped she looked like, she said gently to her brother, “Just tell me what’s wrong. Talk to me - no, us.” Mistlefall was pleading now. “Just say what’s wrong, why you aren’t talking to any of us. You have nothing against the rest of your family.”

Pearlcloud [-] Camp; Healer's den [-] Splashstone Splashstone
The grey she-cat hadn't heard Splashstone's argument with Redwave, but she did see the molly's irritation before she came into the den and out of the storm with a sigh. even as she apologized, Pearlcloud was on edge. "I-I was told to get the poultice changed," she stuttered, holding out her injured paw. The herbs were just a stain of green after a night's sleep and her journey through the storm's hard rain, short as it was, and she frowned at it, trying to keep it off the ground as she hobbled away from the entrance to let Splashstone around her. "I hope it's okay. I'm sorry. I was told to come." The waves lapped again at the back of her mind, the dark waters stirring from below. Ivorycliff [-] Camp; alcove [-]Hawkpelt
The moon over the ocean, eh? Now that was something he hadn't seen for even longer; the older tom was a night owl back when he first took his name, but now he struggled against sleep once the sun has set for the day. As the water streamed down his face, Ivorycliff smiled at the memory, flicking his ears to signal he had heard and ridding them of a few raindrops. He wondered if Eaglepelt's moonlight visits were also alone, or if he'd brought someone special to share the moment with him. "Just a few suns ago," he replied. "I helped with some of the scout training." Ivorycliff enjoyed teaching, though he was glad he didn't currently have an apprentice that needed his constant attention. Young cats were too enthusiastic for him to keep up with nowadays, even if the occasional training sessions he helped with were a fun change of pace. The path to the Soft Sands was a slight, downhill slope, and the trail they followed --carved from many paws over the seasons-- became a swirling rivulet of water that kicked the back of his paws and made each step squish in the deep mud. Ivorycliff curled his lip as he stepped in a particularly thick quagmire, splashing his white paws with dark brown almost to his chest. "Careful," he warned, picking a path around the patch of mud. He didn't think his pelt could be even more soaked through than the storm already had, but as he pushed through a clump of palmetto on the edge of the path, he felt the warm water from their wide leaves cut through his pelt straight to the skin, making his fur prickle.

Brownie - Pearlcloud ---------------------- Splashstone swept Pearlcoud's paw into her's, gently and lightly. She inspected the green stain that was evident on the she-cat's leg and nodded her answer. "I see! Well, let's get you all fixed up then." She purred, feeling the tension she had created with her bad mood. The calico made sure never to spread the negativity that may have sprouted, especially to a cat such as Pearlcloud. She stepped in front of the other molly and jerked her head to the side, signaling that Pearlcloud was to follow her back into the den. Once there, Splashstone gathered horsetail, goldenrod, and marigold. She prepared herself for the preparation of the poultice and stuck the herbs in her mouth. She made a twisted face before turning so Pearlcloud wouldn't see and chewed the mixture of herbs into a paste. The bi-colored she-cat then reached for a clump of moss and dampened it in a small pool of water. Without words, she pulled Pearlcloud's paw near her once again, dabbing the wound with the moss, clearing the debris out, and then applying the paste to her ailment. Splashstone shook her head, feeling the wave of bitterness take over her body before she wrapped the paste in cobwebs. "There! Now, would you mind resting a little more? I would really hate to see all that work go to waste." She asked sweetly and with a clear tone. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brownie - Ivorycliff --------------------- Hawkpelt watched the body language of the older tom and couldn't help but smile a small bit. It was obvious that he was enjoying the walk to the Soft Sands, and that it was possibly a chance for him to reminisce on times before. Hawkpelt had always been a night owl, on the other hand. He enjoyed the quiet of the night as opposed to the usual hustle-and-bustle of clan life. Originally, Hawkpelt was never one who enjoyed clan life. He must rather have had solitude and peace surrounding his daily life. However, life did not work out that way and he could do nothing but make the best of it. Most nights, he would sit outside the Scout's den listening to the other life of the environment, hunting, and living. He could never hear such things when everyone else was awake. "Oh did you now? I sure feel bad for them." He teased, bumping a shoulder into the older tom's shoulder. Hawkpelt enjoyed watching the training since he had no apprentice of his own. He enjoyed the way that the apprentices were full of life and so naive about what was to come. He felt sorry, however, that they have to experience certain parts of the world that he hoped to protect his own kits from. "They're always so...enthusiastic, aren't they?" He chuckled, thinking back on how he and his friend were when they were that age. Hawkpelt quickly fell behind Ivorycliff and watched him sink into the mud. He reared his head back and made sure to follow the other tom's pawsteps in order to avoid all of the mud. For a long-haired cat, it would take forever to get all of that sludge off of him. He tried his best to avoid things like this since it took a good chunk of time. A chunk of time that could be used for something more valuable. He ducked under the palmetto leaves and felt the residual raindrops soak into his skin. Hawkpelt shook out his body, ridding his fur of stray raindrops and emerging on the other side.

algaewing in healer's den
"Good," Algaewing said, carefully organizing the leaves as Kiwipaw spoke. "It'll be a lengthy process, but hopefully a fruitful one. Hm, since limeleaf poultice is used for soothing skin, not killing off insects, maybe we can use one of these herbs with the mouse bile for something potent..."
She respectfully shifted deeper into the den as Splashstone and Pearlcloud stepped inside for healer-patient care. "Now..."
Before she could continue, however, two apprentices stumbled in looking worse for wear...
butterflypaw in healer's den
"Hang in there," Butterflypaw murmured, bracing herself against Whitepaw's lean, and, before she could reign herself in, she leaned forward and licked Whitepaw's ear in comfort, heart racing. "In two steps you're going to be okay."
The rain was a drenching but easy curtain to hide the blood trailing behind in their footsteps. No cat called them out - most cats were lost in their own heads, Butterflypaw's found - as she helped Whitepaw into the healer's den.
She panicked a little at the sight of Pearlcloud - they might not have the privacy she'd hoped for - but healers were there and present. "So, um, hi," she called with a high, trembling laugh. "We, uh, we need help with a bit of leg pain..."
basiltail at border
"Oh?" Basiltail purred, letting Waterfall's shove roll him across the ground, using the momentum to pick himself back up. He lunged forth again, batting at Waterfall's face and side with pinpoint precision. "It's rare to find cats speaking in the third person. You have been quite naughty indeed!"
This time, he dove to the ground and kicked up with his hind legs at Waterfall's chin. He's going for a knockout blow.
mintsong in camp
The moment felt drenched in drama, their fur soaked in rain, Mintsong and Sandheart staring at each other dressed in dripping whiskers and emotional gazes. Mintsong wanted to turn her face in the sky and yowl in rage and frustration.
"Love him? Love him?" Mintsong yelled, feeling utterly unheard. "What fantasy world are you living in? What hole have you buried your head in that tells you we can just ignore everything that happens and be one big, happy dandy family? Have you even talked to your kits? Have you even talked to Vanillabloom's kits? Are you really so naive you think every cat can just sweep this under the moss so that you can be happy with your kithood crush?"
She shook her head. "Fine. Fine! Be selfish. Be happy. Ocean forbid we all have that luxury."
Her heart hurt. Of course she wanted to see her sister happy. Sandheart's happiness should have been her happiness. But seeing Sandheart's happiness come at the cost of everyone else's pain infuriated her. To see her happy now, in the midst of the hurt and confusion of her friends and family, felt like an injustice Mintsong didn't know how to resolve.
"Only when Coconutfall sweeps down from the sky on a pair of wings to whisk me from the jaws of a crocodile would I even think about forgiving him for stealing my sister," Mintsong said. She turned away, pelt still burning. "I'm going to go find a tree to dry off under. I'd suggest you'd do the same, if I still thought you cared about my opinion."

WATERFALL WITH - BASILTAIL LOCATION - SCARMAW'S LAIR TAG - Feathertalon, thejadestorm Waterfall glowered in anger at Basiltail's snarky comment. "Na cava o a kaya? What did you say?!" he exclaimed in rage. His eyes narrowed, hiding the green vibrant colour of it. His eyes like slits, he hissed in anger. His mind blurry with his rage, he lunged once again. Even though he knew that it was not the strongest move, he could not control it. He had given way to his instincts, going feral. His anger had woken his deepest line of defense and attack, and he was in control no longer. He may as well have been a beast, an uncontrollable one. His fur puffed up and his hissed turned to growls. "Au na saumi iko mada! I will make you pay!" he cried out, enraged.

CLIFFSTORM WITH - DOVEKIT, HORIZONKIT & SKINKSTRIPE, MENTIONS SUNSETKIT LOCATION - NURSERY TAG - Feathertalon, ☾—ivy。˚⊹♪:¨ · Cliffstorm jumped up in surprise as Dovekit joined his brother, elated. "Dovekit! You little brat!" He silently took back whatever he had thought earlier, about Dovekit being mature and whatsoever. He was not about to put a stop to the kits' fun. However, Cliffstorm decided to play too. He lifted his tail higher in the air for Dovekit to pounce on, a playful smile forming on his face. Horizonkit, meanwhile, had been jerked off at Cliffstorm's startled jump, and tumbled off, his eyes ready to let out torrents of tears. However, thankfully, this did not dispirit him for long, his face brightened again, and he leapt back on to attack Cliffstorm's whiskers. He looked around for the last, remaining kit of the litter. "Sunsetkit! Where are you? Come and play!" he looked around in vain for the molly kit.

ISLANDMIST WITH - OPEN LOCATION - CAMP ENTRANCE TAG - @ Islandmist looked out of camp with urgency, looking desperately for someone. Surely no one would be out in this storm? Bluepool, Bluepool, where are you? It had been a long time since the storm started, and her sister was still out in the rain. Gusts of wind blew storms of leaves around in the air, some falling on her white pelt. She looked for signs of her sister's homecoming in vain. Not allowing herself to fear the worst, she stepped out of camp, but immediately withdrew her paw as a sharp stick hit it. Her usual calm demeanour had been replaced by an air of panic. She hoped desperately her sister would come back soon.

PARROTCALL returning to camp / with batpaw
Parrotcall was about to repeat his offer when a sharp, earsplitting crack made him nearly jump out of his fur. He darted forward, prepared to throw himself in front of or on top of the apprentice to protect him. Fortunately, it turned out not to be necessary. A thick branch plummeted to the ground a short distance from the two, the shrubs that caught it crackling under its weight.
The healer's heart hammered in his chest. His pupils were wide with adrenaline. That was too close. The time for gentle coaching had passed. "This way, Batpaw!" Parrotcall said, his tone suddenly commanding. "I'd rather not have to heal ourselves when we get back!"
Relying on his sensitive nose to get them back on the right track, the colorpoint tom took the lead. He scanned the thrashing bracken for any familiar landmarks. It was hard to make sense of the jungle with everything in constant motion. Then he spotted a gap in the greenery and inhaled deeply. The scent of HibiscusClan marked it as one of the trails the cats used when traversing the territory. "Over here!" He called, beckoning with his tail.
KIWIPAW healers' den / with algaewing, butterflypaw, & whitepaw
The apprentice felt pleased that the warrior had taken him up on his suggestion. His dark green eyes lit up as another idea struck him. "Since limeleaf poultices sooth irritated skin, if we mix the right bug-killing agent in, it can double as an anti-itch ointment!" His mew was bright with kit-like enthusiasm. He noticed a heartbeat later that Algaewing had moved aside to permit Splashtone and Pearlcloud to enter, and he hastily scooted out of the way with a mumble of "oop, sorry."
"Do we have any--" Kiwipaw began, glancing around for mouse bile, when his gaze landed on two familiar pelts. Shock slammed into him like a physical blow. "Wh-- Butterflypaw! Whitepaw!" After staring and blinking stupidly for several seconds, he leaped to his feet, all thoughts of the experiment abandoned as he rushed to his friends' side.
"Which one of you is hurt?" He asked, his voice becoming brisk and professional. "What happened?"

BluepoolThe blue-gray she-cat looked back at the enthusiastic tom before racing ahead. She was headed towards the water, and she wanted to see how much of a runner Ospreyfeather was.
She turned her head once more, this time a smirk painted on her face. Amusement flickered in her blue eyes; if the hunter didn't hurry he'd be last!
Bluepool unsheathed her claws in an attempt to fling herself forward. She was going faster then ever; even though she'd never admit it, it was to impress Ospreyfeather.
She felt as though she was going to slip out of her fur any moment now and be a pink, hairless cat. I've got to win, she pondered, at any cost!

OSPREYFEATHER WITH - B L U E P O O L LOCATION - P A L M. C O A S T TAG - ☾—ivy。˚⊹♪:¨ · Ospreyfeather trampled down the shore to catch up to Bluepool, yowling indignantly, “You cheat! I wasn’t ready yet!” However his playful smile did not leave his face. Instead, it grew wider as he gambolled towards a flimsy pile of pebbles, then intentionally tripped over them. As his paw hit the pebbles somewhat painfully, his body was thrown off the edge of the small hill he was standing on and was suspended freely in the air. “This is life!” he cried out in pure joy as he soared through the air, his head held high and his fur catching the wind. The breeze could be felt pushing against his lithe shape. Gliding over places that he might have had trouble crossing, he saw Bluepool running for all she was worth. “Hey, Bluepool! Look at me!” he yelled, and did a few somersaults for attention. He hoped she would notice His attention shifted as he neared the shore. Sticking out his thin tail to land on his feet, he perfected the flying move, and landed unscathed. He yearned for more but longed to see Bluepool’s face first.a little unrealistic but was feeling bored.

REDWAVE — with myrtlefall[/b] - swallowtailAt any other time Redwave would have turned around and spoken his mind to Splashstone. She was lucky this time. Redwave’s energy to even retort back to her heated words was wavering and all he wanted to do was find somewhere secluded in camp to hunker down. He had the mind to ruminate on what Duskflight had told him earlier. If he were to get the Clan on his side then he needed to start interacting with his Clanmates again. That sounded easy enough, but even he knew that it would be easier said than done. Redwave had never been the charismatic type. Diplomacy wasn’t easy for him, and being friendly was even harder. Maybe he should have been easier on Splashstone, but the monkey-brain had asked for it, and Redwave couldn’t help but let the flames of his temper burn bright. He might approach her again in a day or two and see if he could tease out her thoughts on the Clan’s leadership, but he didn’t get to ponder on this long as a familiar white pelt flashed in front of him. Redwave held his head higher. ”Mistlefall,” he greeted tautly. Before him stood one of his sisters, the molly that looked like their mother yet shared a name with their father. She was right - there was nothing pitting him against his mother and littermates, and he didn’t have a problem with any of them, but things had changed. Their family dynamic had fallen apart. Nothing was going to be the same again, and Redwave was lost. Everything he had known had crumbled underneath him like soft sand. He was falling with no cat to catch him. ”You know what’s wrong,” he muttered under his breath. Thunder drummed above, vibrating the very ground. ”Our whole family, the entire Clan, has been ruined.” His voice was sharp yet soft. Anger remained from his short interaction with Splashstone, but where fire had burned there was now only dwindling embers, warm rather than an inferno. Who was he to snap at his own sister? Snapping at Vanillabloom had been enough. He couldn’t do that to the family he still cared about a second time. WHITEPAW — with Butterflypaw, Algaewing - thejadestorm& Kiwipaw - TealravenCamp wasn’t far. Even through the rainfall Whitepaw could make out familiar bushes and trees that lined the entrance of their home. With no other words spoken or thoughts formed, Whitepaw followed Butterflypaw back into camp. She was limping heavily by now, most of her support coming from her friend. The rain had washed away most of the blood, the wound mostly done bleeding and only leaving behind small puncture wounds and a stiff pain that jarred with each troubled step. She continued on toward the healers’ den, determined to not stagger too much, pushing herself to not look weak in front of Butterflypaw. These worries didn’t last much longer once they entered the den. The familiar voice of Kiwipaw echoed inside Whitepaw’s ears; she ducked her head, glancing downward as if sheepishly attempting to hide herself, but soon she looked back up, eyes narrowed and chest puffed outward. ”I attacked the boa. It…sorta got me, too,” she added slower, maneuvering herself in such a way that would allow Kiwipaw sight of her leg. ”It’s not bad. Butterflypaw helped.” The scout apprentice gently nudged the healer, stifling a choked purr that wanted to vibrate against her throat. For as much as Whitepaw wanted to admire Butterflypaw and give her the credit she deserved, she couldn’t make her feelings as obvious as she wanted. What if Butterflypaw didn’t feel the same? She was a good friend. Whitepaw didn’t want to ruin what they already had. DOVEKIT — with Cliffstorm swallowtailNo longer full of sleep, Dovekit was ready for action. He leaped forward, laughter bubbling from him as he noticed the movement Cliffstorm made with his tail. Instantly the little kit darted for his tail, reaching out with his paws. He clamped on first with his front legs before tipping over to hold Cliffstorm’s tail with his back legs. With tiny kit teeth he clamped onto the fur of the tail-rip, back legs kicking into the underside of his cousin’s tail. For as vicious as it looked there wasn’t any way the young tom could cause any damage, but in his mind he was a powerful hunter taking down the terrifying boa he had heard whispers about. He would save the Clan and all would once again be peaceful.

Silentwave
with sunchaser Tealraven Silentwave nodded briefly, his pelt brushing against the scout's as he caught up to her. "I'd like that. Don't be surprised if I trip over my own legs, though," he joked, hoping his remark was even half witty.
He gazed ahead of himself, thoughts filling out his mind. I think today was nice. I should surround myself with cats like Sunchaser. I feel quite peaceful around them, he thought. I wish I could make someone's day too.
He sighed, content spreading out through his fur. He had dropped off all his prey at the prey pile, except the lorikeet he was carrying, which meant as soon as he did that he would be free to rest.
