ABOUT This clan values cleverness and teamwork above all else. OwlClan cats have almost a pack mentality; a lone cat is a dead cat. There is safety in numbers and the clan holds an unspoken rule that it's forbidden to leave camp alone. The clan values brains above brawn, often relying on their quick smarts and strategy in times of trouble.
Clan members are encouraged to speak up and share their thoughts and opinions. While the leader's word is final, OwlClan has always valued the ideas of others and the cats enjoy debating amongst themselves. Large decisions are usually made as a group. Apprentices are taught not only to fight, but methods of battle strategy.
Working in teams allows for a deep sense of loyalty and kinship amongst clan-mates. Teams can end up closer than littermates. OwlClan cats are intimidating in their efficiency and intelligence. They do not fight recklessly and are intimately aware of every flaw and strength their team holds. They use this knowledge to work out plans that let their teammates reach their fullest potential, while supporting their weaknesses.
Appearance-wise, OwlClan cats are mostly tabbies of varying shades and the random calico here and there. Their coats are most commonly shades of brown and ginger. The average OwlClan cat is tall with a long tail and powerful hind-legs for both pouncing and climbing. Coats tend to be mid-length and their night vision strong. CUSTOMS ╎Moonkeepers╎
- This custom began after a series of night ambushes SwanClan tried to pull during the time of Mottledstar. The attacks took out many of OwlClan's warriors, but the real blow came in the loss of elders and apprentices. So, the clan as a group, decided to form a new rank, one that woke at sunset and patrolled while the moon was high. The name originally began as a joke but has stuck over the years.
The leader and deputy watch over apprentice training carefully until the eighth moon. Then, they decide whether an apprentice is strong enough or has the constitution to become a moonkeeper. If so, they will be given a moonkeeper mentor and begin changing their schedule.
This rank is highly regarded by the clan, it's an honor to watch over the rest of the clan as they lie defenseless in their nests.
The moonwatcher is the pseudo leader of the clan at night and makes the decisions that normally would be left to the leader or deputy. Since there are two medicine cats, they switch shifts every season between being up with moonkeepers or during the day.
╎Teams & Paints╎
- First brought about during Quietstar's reign, while wild dogs ran rampant. A single cat was no match for the much larger creatures, but the clan found that in teams of four, they stood a chance. The whole debacle was quite new and a bit confusing at first, which is why Quietstar and her medicine cats, Cricketspring and Leafheart, began to experiment with mixing herbs and berries into thick, vibrant pastes. They used same colored "paints" to mark all the members of a team, making it easier to identify who belonged with who.
Indigo leaves and elderberries gave a deep blue shade. Blueberries are used for light blue. Pokeweed and blackberries are used for purple. Camelias and roses can be made into pink. Amaranth flowers can be used for red. Marigolds and dandelion petals produce yellow paint. Orange cosmos are used for orange. Meadowsweet and walnut husks are used for black. Sorrel roots make green paint.
Teams are expected to hunt, train, and patrol together. They're responsible for one another and are often tight-knit units. If there is an issue between members of the team it's expected to either work itself out or in serious cases, be brought before the leader. The leader will hear all sides of the story, evaluate how the issue is affecting both cats and clan, and decide from there whether to change up the teams. Sometimes teams will seek out the leader's opinion to end spats or minor feuds.
In the case that a cat mates within the group, the leader will separate them into different teams, if only to make sure that there is balance. If a warrior protected their mate before the rest of their team, it could leave the other two vulnerable. There's no stigma around falling in love between teammates, but it's important that the cats are honest and are split between teams. Siblings are rarely put on the same team, but it does happen.
╎First Day of Every Season╎- The first official day of every season is a day of bonding for teams. There's a hunting competition, where the team that tracks down the most prey is crowned victor. During Greenleaf they have a challenge of taking out the largest or rarest prey, since food is most abundant during this season. The day is treated as almost a holiday, with lots of storytelling, sharing tongues, and large meals.
TERRITORY OwlClan resides in a thick, deciduous forest. Full of oak, maple, ash, beech, and walnut trees. The undergrowth grows dense in most areas, unruly and hard to navigate for outsiders. A small pool - that branches off from the thin stream that stands as their border with SwanClan - is where the clan gets most of its fresh drinking water. Their camp is settled just to the left of the center of the territory. This clan's far border is only a day's journey to the two-leg place.
╎Dark Hollow╎ As its name suggests, this is a hollow relatively near camp that's made from stone. The oak and beech trees that grow around it are close together and have woven branches, that let only small patches of sunlight through. The ground is covered in soft dirt and patches of grass, making it an ideal place to train.
╎Tree Graveyard╎ On the southern edge of OwlClan's territory, one of their open borders, is an area that was devastated by two-legs during Mottledstar's reign. All that remains of the forest here is dead, overgrown trees, mossy logs, and insect infested stumps. A good place to catch rodents but also offers good shelter for predators.
╎Berry Patch╎ Not only berries are found in this small span of forest, nearer to the clan's border with SwanClan. The trees have greater distance between them, allowing an abundance of sunlight to fall on the forest floor. All kinds of herbs and berries grow plentiful here. The sweet, pleasant scent makes this a prime area for sunbathing and romantic pursuits.
╎Lightning Oak╎ Up into the northern part of the forest, the clan has a tree that has been split and burned by lightning in two places, as though the lightning struck the oak twice - hence it's nickname. Birds are easily caught here, along with smaller rodents. Owls tend to perch in this tree, making it a treasured landmark for the clan. Smaller cats are to be cautious.
╎Shallow Pool╎ A little pool a few bear-lengths from the camp. The water is relatively clear but since it's not deep, it can be tepid during the warmer moons. The clan's main source of drinking water, along with the thin creek that branches off. The creek bisects the western side of the forest until reaching a wider stream that separates OwlClan from SwanClan.
╎Mossy Stones╎ Just beyond the Berry Patch, is a clearing full of stones that are covered in moss. Catmint grows here in abundance and prey is usually simple to find. Due to the high number of resources and the fact that it sits next to the SwanClan border, it's always been a contended spot between them. Currently it belongs to SwanClan.
C A M P Hidden by trees, bramble thickets, and some large rocks, the OwlClan camp is well defended from predators. The prey pile is near the center of the central clearing, lined by stones. A low hanging, gnarled branch of a large beech tree is where the clan leader calls meetings, called Twisted Branch. Dens are made up of large, thick bushes, tangled roots (leader's den and nursery), and a fallen log (medicine den). The entrance is a short tunnel made from brambles and thorn thickets. It's easy to get snarled up in the thorns if one isn't careful.

Poppyfeather with open in camp @ Tag
The quiet molly lifted the pair of mice she'd caught, stretching out her hind legs. It was rare for her to be up this early, but the warrior had been restless last night. Poppyfeather gave her coat a quick shake - dew from the surrounding plants had brushed onto her pelt. The morning was quiet and warm, the weak golden sunlight filtering through the leaves to dance on the forest floor. She enjoyed the peace more than she thought she would, though her superiors probably wouldn't have approved of her being out without her team.
With that in mind, Poppyfeather turned and padded back towards camp. She was only a few tail-lengths away from the entrance, the soft sounds of a waking camp reaching her ears. Her paw-steps were light as she slid into the short bramble tunnel. The sharp look Lightningstar gave her made the she-cat flinch. After setting down the mice into the pile, she cast him an apologetic look. Yep, she knew this had been a bad idea.
Tigergleam with Lightningstar in camp @ Tag
"How did the patrols go last night, Tigergleam?" the black and white patched leader asked the moonwatcher, peering at the other tom with clear yellow eyes. Unlike Tigergleam, who was bleary eyed and blatantly exhausted. The sun was much higher in the sky than the tabby would have wished, every minute he sat here was one he wasn't sleeping.
"Mm... well. It was quiet, even along the SwanClan border..." Tigergleam reported, straightening his shoulders as he addressed his leader. Even if his eyes were drifting shut and his yawn appeared so large it's a wonder it didn't crack his jaw. Lightningstar let out a quiet huff of amusement.
"Go get some rest, you're dead on you paws."
Shrikehop with open elder's den @ Tag
Shrikehop couldn't sleep. The den was too quiet and cold. He missed the snores and twitching paws of his teammates. Their fur that always got stuck in his mouth or their tails that landed over his nose... All things the young tom had thought were annoyances, were things he missed so dearly. And his leg hurt. He'd never felt more alone.
Cricketpaw with open in camp @ Tag
The little molly had curled up in her nest, the second she'd returned from her last hunting patrol. Her soft snores filled the den, her paw thrown over her eyes as though to block out the light. She'd been taking the adjustment to moonkeeper training hard. Going from being awake all day to up all night was a real adjustment.

Rowanspots with open shallow pool @ Tag
There was nothing Rowanspots hated more than being put on border patrol right after the return of the moonkeepers. He honestly had no idea how those cats did it, watching Tigergleam and Tumbleblossom practically dragging their paws as he passed them. The speckled tom was just about doing the same as he made his way with his team across the territory. There was an itch in his pelt when they stopped at the Berry Patch, instinctively ready to push on towards Mossy Stones before he remembered it was currently in SwanClan's possession.
Right before returning to camp, Rowanspots had veered off towards Shallow Pool, the trek through the forest leaving him parched. He waved off most of his team with his tail, then crouched at the clear water. His tongue darts out, drinking in the still cold water. Quite a relief since the weather was starting to get warmer. Guilt prickled at the brown tom's fur, making his whiskers twitch as he actively tries to keep it down. A vole was swinging in his jaw while Beartuft trots over to the elder's den. He'd taken it upon himself to take care of not only his teammate, but his best friends in the entire clan. The warrior was there when Shrikehop had fallen out of that tree and broken his leg. While he knew there was nothing he could've done to prevent it, Beartuft had wished that he was the one to have volunteered instead. It was hard seeing someone he cared about in pain.
"Delivery, for one Shrikehop! Fresh vole, well fresh-ish. I'm pretty sure the purple team caught it early this morning." Responding as chipper as always, and masking his sympathy, Beartuft placed the plump rodent right before Shrikehop. "How's the leg?" Tumbleblossom gave Poppyfeather a polite smile as the other she-cat placed mice on to the fresh-kill pile, unaware of Lightningstar's scowl. Maybe if she were a little more awake she would have noticed the short exchange and tried to reassure the older warrior. But she was dead tired after her team decided to do some early morning hunting before returning to camp after their patrol rounds. She moves away from the prey and approaches Tigergleam and Lightningstar, catching the last portion of their conversation.
"I can take him from here. Lightningstar. Have a good morning." It's amazing how bubbly she sounds after being awake all night, but that was just Tumbleblossom. She comes up to the Tigergleam's side and gives him an encouraging nudge, as well as a gentle smile. "C'mon, let's get you to your nest before you collapse."

Tigergleam with Tumbleblossom in camp 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢The moonwatcher barely noticed the approach of his fellow moonkeeper, to focused on not falling asleep on his paws. The sudden brush of soft fur against his flank brought his attention to Tumbleblossom. He didn't know how the molly could sound so chipper after a night of patrolling but he admired her for it. Tigergleam didn't normally feel so wiped out, used to the odd schedule by now, but he'd had trouble sleeping the last few days. Now, his exhaustion seemed to be catching up to him all at once.
"Alright, alright," he grumbled, offering a tired grin to Lightningstar before turning in the direction of the warrior's den. His paw-steps were sure and his gait steady, if only through sheer force of will. Tigergleam wouldn't allow himself to seem weak in front of anybody. "I saw Purple Team's hunt went well," his tone was a bit kinder this time around, as he took a peek at his friend from the corner of his eye.
His own team had patrolled the borders and then returned to watch over camp until dawn. He'd been up to his ears in reports from his moonkeepers and trying to keep patrols organized. Stormbreeze had almost chewed his ears off for not having a meal at any point. Tigergleam just hadn't felt hungry, so he hadn't eaten. He smiled briefly, thinking of his team. They really were everything to him, especially with his strained relationship with his mother and the awkward distance between himself and his younger siblings. He didn't need kin, he'd been given a little family of his very own.
Shrikehop with Beartuft elder's den 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 The brown tabby forced himself up into a generally seated position. His movements were stilted and awkward thanks to his bandaged leg and the sharp pain that flared up with the slightest shift. He glanced at the splint, two thick sticks on either side of his leg to keep the limb straight so that the bone would heal properly, wrapped with layers of cobwebs and herbs. Wildpetal just changed the dressing last night, so the scent of the poultice was strong.
Dark striped ears perked up on the tom's head at the sound of approaching paw-steps. Shrikehop hoped that it was someone to visit him and not an apprentice sent to clean out the bedding. The young warrior was beginning to go a little stir-crazy. Thank StarClan above that the familiar brown face of Beartuft came into view. He instantly felt a big grin stretch his muzzle, laughter in his green eyes.
There were very few in the whole world who could light up his day like Beartuft. The two had been friends since kithood and had grown up together. Lightningstar and Tigergleam had made the right decision, putting the two on the same team. "You could have brought me a maggot infested mouse and I'd probably still risk it, I'm so hungry," he joked, eyeing the prey in appreciation. The polite question about his leg put a bit of strain in his smile, "Oh, it feels better today! I'll be back up and chasing down squirrels in no time!"

foxblaze - shallow pool with rowanspots Foxblaze skulked through the dense underbrush. Bars of early morning sunlight shone through the leaves overhead, striping her dark ginger coat in shades of brilliant orange that shifted and rippled over her body as she walked. A small heartbeat caught her attention and she lowered into a crouch, ears swiveling and whiskers twitching over the forest floor. Slowly she crept forward, muscles tense, tail-tip flicking. Her mouth watered at the scent of her quarry; she could practically taste the vole already. With a flash of unsheathed claws, she sprang forward, pouncing on the helpless rodent and ending its life with a swift bite to the neck. "Ha! Did you guys see that! Did you--" Foxblaze cried triumphantly. She lifted her head and looked around, trying to catch her teammates' eyes. But the other cats had mostly dispersed. They must have returned to camp without her. She scowled, picked up her vole, and circled back to the edge of the Shallow Pool where she had buried her first catch. Foxblaze was annoyed -- well, she was usually annoyed for one reason or another. Today she was annoyed because one of her teammates had beaten her to placing the first scent marker at the border. On purpose, she was pretty sure. Not to be outdone, she'd decided to do a little light hunting on the way back to camp. The dark ginger molly stalked up to the pool, uncovering the mouse she'd buried a few paces from the water's edge and stooping to pick it up. She adjusted the vole clamped in her mouth so that it hunt by its tail, leaving room for her to carry the mouse. She stood, the two rodents swinging from her jaws, and spotted Rowanspots lapping up water on the opposite side of the pool. "Well, that's two for me." She tossed her head. "How many have you got, Rowanspots?" She asked with a challenging edge to her voice.

Rowanspots with Foxblaze shallow pool @ TealravenRowanspot's fur prickled after hearing the challenge in Foxblaze's tone. To him it just sounded like bragging, which he supposes that's exactly what she was doing. The older tom doesn't hide his rolling eyes, now sitting up and licking his whiskers. He'd made it a point to ignore the ginger she-cat after beating her to the first scent mark. He just wanted to see the smug smile wiped off of her face for once, but of course Foxblaze always found a way to try and beat him at something else.
"Nothing," he replied pointedly. "You should be focusing on the task at paw next time we're on border patrol. Not galavanting through the trees and running off to chase mice." There's a scoff added into his tone. "Purple team already went hunting this morning, if you catch too much then you're just wasting prey in the forest." Rowanspots felt pretty proud of himself for that, knowing full well he was just trying to knock the molly down a peg. He's not sure when this whole back and forth between them began, but it wasn't like he outright hated the molly. The speckled tom just boiled Foxblaze's attitude down to her being young, even if he wasn't that much older.
"Who are you even trying to impress anyways?" Beartuft's nose and whiskers twitch with the fresh smell of the poultice. It had such a strong, herbal smell. At least it was better than the impact he'd get when stepping into the medicine cats den. All of the herbs scented together was strong enough to make his head spin. His face contorts even more as he imagines the vile prey that Shrikehop had just described, knowing the image well. He hated coming across the remains of rotted mice that foxes would leave behind on their territory. It's enough to send a shiver down his spine. "Oh, gross dude." He says with a half-heated chuckle.
"Unfortunately, maggot infested mouse isn't on the menu today." Beartuft easily jokes back, now nosing the vole closer to Shrikehop. There's a falter in his own grin as his friend continues, knowing that talking about his injury must be hard. It was a stupid question, and the brown tom felt stupid for asking. He quickly smooths down his chest fur before the heat of embarrassment could rise. "Well, you better! I think I heard the squirrels mocking you when we went hunting yesterday. Gotta give them a piece of your mind!"
That goofy grin is back on his face in no time, Beartuft's energy was infectious, especially around the tabby. He could remember how excited the two toms had been when they found out they were going to be on the same team together. Their brotherhood felt stronger than a blood tie, and he himself often forgot that they weren't littermates. Beartuft moves to sit beside Shrikehop now, briefly nosing his cheek. "Here, you can lean on me if you need to." Of course Tumbleblossom was just as tired as the rest of the moonkeeper cats, but her sunny tone would never falter. It's an attribute about herself that's always left her feeling unsure. Mostly starting out to mask the pain she felt after losing the last of her family at just a 'paw. Pity was something she never wanted from her clanmates, but could easily pick out from their expressions so soon after her father had left the clan. So, her solution was to not let anyone see her in pain. That way no one could pity her. After growing up she supposes she can't blame him, but she'd never forgive him for abandoning her. At least she had her team to fall back on, and Tigergleam. She had such fond memories with the tom, and his encouragement to work even harder is what motivated her to become a moonkeeper in the first place.
She walks close beside her companion as they make their way across camp, her tall legs making it easy for her to keep up with his steady stride. Tumbleblossom casts a side glance in his direction, a smile crossing her features. "It did go really well! I caught a couple of squirrels, they were pretty plump too." The calico boasts with a purr, not usually one to brag, but she always liked Tigergleam's praise. "What about you? How were your patrols?" She asks, only to keep the conversation going. Now that they were both so busy with their duties, and on different teams, it was harder to spend time with her friend.

~ Stormbreeze with [Open!] in camp ~
Stormbreeze yawned as he padded towards the center of camp towards the prey pile. The gray spotted tabby’s paws aches with every step. “I chose to be a moonkeeper” He reminded himself under his breath, “I chose to be up at moon-high patrolling, while my sister and the other normal warriors were curled up in their soft nests, sleeping soundly.” Stormbreeze’s voice trailed off - he and the other moonkeepers were probably the most important assets of OwlClan. If he or any of the others slacked off during their nightly patrols, their resting clanmates would be put in grave danger. Being tired all the time was worth it, getting to protect his clan like that. Stormbreeze had now reached the prey pile and now was gently grabbing a thin mouse - it would be better to save the larger prey for cats who needed it more. He then slowly made his way to a corner of camp and plopped down, exhausted.
~ Sageheart with Shrikehop and Beartuft in the elder’s den ~
Sageheart glanced around camp, trying to figure out where her teammates were. Realizing Shrikehop was still in the elders’ den recovering from a injury, the spotted tabby licked her chest fur with embarrassment. She should’ve remembered that her own teammate - the cat she patrolled with, trained with, and spent time with - was stuck in the elders’ den. Sageheart decided it might be a good idea to visit the tom - and hopefully meet up with the rest of her team. She briskly padded over to the thick bush were the elders’ den was built, and pushed her way in. “Hello Shrikehop!” Noticing Beartuft was also in the den, she quickly added, “You too, Beartuft!”

foxblaze - shallow pool with rowanspots Foxblaze cocked her head at a vain angle, pleased that Rowanspots had taken the bait. Some cats refused to respond to her taunts. As if ignoring her accomplishments somehow made them better than her! She saw no harm in a little friendly competition among team members; it ensured everyone stayed on top of their game and encouraged each of them to build on their successes. Maybe she took it a little too far at times, but all she wanted was to help herself -- and her teammates, of course -- improve. Surely Rowanspots knew that. Who am I trying to impress? Pfft. Foxblaze made a dismissive noise. "Not you, don't worry." She felt a twinge of annoyance that the tom had thought she was trying to show off, and then another prickle of irritation at the realization that he'd intended to strike a nerve with his comment and had succeeded. "We finished marking the border and were headed back to camp. It was on the way. You can call it galivanting, but I prefer to think of it as maximizing my productivity." She narrowed her green eyes at him. "Why so defensive? You needn't feel bad that you didn't think of it first." She harbored no hatred for the speckled tom; in fact, he had probably been trying to help in his way. She was certain now that he had managed to place every scent marker before she did on purpose. She would have to be quicker and more alert next time -- what if he'd been a SwanClan cat? The border would've been moved before she could do anything about it. Still, it didn't make her feel any better.

[ i'm about to start on replies now, but i wanted to let everyone know that as of tomorrow, we're starting a new day in the rp. this is just to keep the clan moving forward. ^^ ]"Squirrels?" the tom asked, green eyes widening as a pang of hunger hit him from out of nowhere. Oh, wait, he hadn't eaten a meal last night. The tom took a slow moment to think over her question, tired brain struggling to move past the idea of prey. "We had moon-high patrol, which was uneventful.. SwanClan's scent is all over the place at Mossy Stones though, the pesky fish-breaths!" Even exhausted, Tigergleam could find disgust for their current rival clan. His tail lashed once and then his stomach gave a low growl.
"Can we make a small detour? I know if I walk into the den, stomach grumbling, my team will have my hide," he joked, even forcing a shiver for effect. He half turned, his gaze landing on a familiar gray spotted coat instead of the fresh-kill pile. He'd thought that most of his team had already tucked themselves into their nests but it seems at least one was still up and about.
"Stormbreeze! Want some company?" Tigergleam called, before turning to glance at Tumbleblossom with a worn, but charming smile. "If that's alright with you?" The tom guffawed at the disgust on his friend's face, his smile slipping into a crooked smirk. "Hey, when you're hungry enough, anything looks good! But, a vole will have to do, I guess..." Shrikehop said, putting an ounce of resignation into his tone. Those green eyes were shimmering with laughter, though, proving that he didn't actually want to eat crow-food. It was fun to tease Beartuft though, it always had been.
Carefully leaning down, he took a small bite of the brown furred vole, giving a hum of appreciation. After a few more mouthfuls he turned his attention back to his teammate, his face falling flawlessly into false outrage. "And you didn't think to defend my honor? What kinda best friend are you?" the wounded tom demanded, lifting a paw to bat at Beartuft's ears. Of course, without that paw to support himself he began to fall, but his friend's warm flank supported him just in time. Embarrassment and irritation prickled along his spine, making his pelt feel hot. "Thanks."
The entrance of Sageheart brought back his sunny smile, delighted to see another friendly face. "Sageheart! Is life that boring without me that you had to come bask in my presence?" Shrikehop teased, eager to keep the conversation from drifting to his recovery. The last thing he wanted to think about was his broken leg and how slow it was healing.

Rowanspots with Foxblaze shallow pool @ Tealraven There was no reason to ignore Foxblaze, as annoying as her gloating could get. She had a right to be proud of her catches, for providing for her clan. He just didn't care for the way she just had to make everything a competition. One that was hard for Rowanspots to refuse. It was in his nature to not only meet her standards, but exceed them and dare her to do the same. Sometimes he wishes for just a casual patrol every now and again, but he can't help but think if things were to mellow out then everything would surely turn boring.
He finally rises from the water's edge and makes his way over to the ginger she-cat, standing before her. "I'm not defensive, not at all. I'm calm, cool, and collected. No defense here." Rowanspots says with a grin before nodding to the prey she had tried balancing in her mouth before. "Need any help with those? You looked like you were struggling to carry them." His whiskers twitch in amusement, ready for whatever reaction he was going to get out of her. "What is Wildpetal giving you that's making you crave crow-food all of a sudden?" Of course Beartuft knew they were just joking around, but leave it to him to try and push the bit for however long he could go. His own teasing is enough to make the tom laugh, a short bellowing one, the sound bouncing off of the nearly empty den. It was roughly the same size as the warrior's den, but missing a lot of the numbers. He could only imagine how lonely Shrikehop must be in here.
Beartuft is pulled from his thoughts as his ears are lightly cuffed, and his friend is now using him as a support after almost falling down. He'd barely registered the comeback about the squirrels, not realizing just how deep he'd gotten lost in his thoughts. He tries to offer up a reassuring smile, wrapping his tail around Shrikehop and minding his broken leg. "The kind that's always there for you."
His green eyes snap to the entrance of the elder's den when their teammate, Sageheart soon joins them. Beartuft sticks to Shrikehop's side, not seeing a reason why he should pull away. He was just there to support his best friend. It wasn't odd to see the two of them so close together. He snorts at his friends reply, shaking his head slightly before he gives Sageheart and polite smile. "Hey, Sageheart. Come to join the party?" "Yeah! Squirrels!" Tumbleblossom confirms with a smile, then notices the way Tigergleam struggled to think through his next response. She bites back a giggle, realizing the tom must be hungry. She doesn't remember seeing him pick out anything to eat when they returned to camp. The calico hadn't either, but she planned on snagging a meal before going to her nest anyways. Her blue gaze lands on the tabby tom as he expresses his loathing for their neighboring clan. She just nods, remaining silent otherwise. Tumbleblossom always went back and forth on her opinion with SwanClan.
Her head tilts ever so slightly at his question before she breaks out into a wide smile. "Oh! No, I don't mind. I should probably eat something too. I mean, I was planning on it anyways. Sorry, yes, we can absolutely take a detour." There's no attempt to mask the excitement in her voice. The more time spent with Tigergleam the better, in her opinion. Plus, she couldn't remember the last time they shared a meal together.
Tumbleblossom would begin to head towards the fresh-kill pile, but stops short when she hears her friend calling out for Stormbreeze. Her eyes flicker between the two, then settle on Tigergleam when he glances back at her. Her smile falters. "No- that's- I mean, sure. It's alright with me." A much less enthusiastic response from the she-cat. It's hard for her to push the disappointment down. "I'll go grab us a couple of squirrels." Ducking her head, Tumbleblossom would trot over to the fresh-kill pile, swiftly looking over its contents and finding two squirrels.

~ Stormbreeze with Tigergleam and Tumbleblossom in camp ~
“Sure why not?” Stormbreeze’s responded with a slightly cold tone. As much as the tom enjoyed his time alone, it was occasionally nice to share a meal with his fellow moonkeepers. Stormbreeze tiredly took a small bite out of his mouse and glanced up, and noted the seemingly disappointing Tumbleblossom. No kidding she wouldn’t want to hang out with grumpy, strict Stormbreeze. As much as Stormbreeze knew that wasn’t the reason, it just … felt easier to blame himself. Most of the Clan probably didn’t enjoy his presence anyways.
~ Sageheart with Shrikehop and Beartuft in the elder’s den ~
Sageheart gave a light purr, “I might have been a little bored…” She padded over to her teammates and sat down. “How’s your leg healing?” She meowed, flicking her tail towards Shrikehop’s injured leg. “It’s getting pretty lonely not having all the team on patrols. I’m excited for when you can leave this tick infested den and go hunting with us!”

foxblaze - shallow pool with rowanspots The dark ginger molly stood her ground as Rowanspots moved towards her. She had trained herself to the ignore the instinct to flinch or take a step back when another cat got too close to her. She met his gaze and held it as the tom stopped in front of her. Green eyes gazed into yellow eyes that stared right back without wavering. After a moment, she shook her head in amusement, the mouse and the vole swinging gaily from her jaws. "Calm, cool, and collected? That doesn't sound like the Rowanspots I know. You'd better not be going soft on me!" He could be fantastically annoying at times, but he had ambition, and he always rose to the challenges she offered to the team. She could respect that. She knew she could always count on Rowanspots to make things interesting. It was getting hard to keep her chin lifted at a cocky angle with the prey in her mouth, but she wouldn't let him have the satisfaction of being right; not after he'd already beaten her to marking the border today. She laughed through her teeth. "Oh, and let you take credit for my catch? Not a chance!" She turned as if preparing to leave. "Who's trying to impress who, again?"

Finchflight stared at the entrance of the elders den, his ears twitching as he overheard the conversation inside. Guilt washed over the tom, as this was a time of need for his littermate, Shrikehop.
Instead of visiting him regularly, the tabby tom opted to continue his regular schedule and allow Beartuft to care for his brother. The warrior's pelt prickled in irritation, as he found himself once again procrastinating on bonding with his injured littermate. It had been a long time, in Finchflight's opinion, that he had shared a meal with Shrikehop or Foxblaze.
Deciding that he could be useful elsewhere, especially at Sageheart joining the two toms, Finchflight walked across the camp. Slowly, he began a pace, waiting for one of his teammates to appear. He wished to leave the camp and take his mind of his thoughts on his kin. Perhaps another team would allow him to join, Lightningstar wouldn't object, right? coding & icon image by officialrainleafwcf

Quietly, Jumppaw finished ripping off the last feather from the little songbird she'd snatched from the freshkill pile. She hadn't been hungry, exactly, this morning, but she'd woken to the bustle of Cricketpaw throwing herself into sleep, and from the looks of it, the older apprentice was going to be dead to the world for another day. She was clearly having trouble adjusting to the moonkeeper hours, and who wouldn't, trying to sleep through the day was stupid. But Jumppaw had noticed the bedding in Cricketpaw's nest getting more and more sparse. Surely the feathers would help, and even if they didn't, it'd at lest remind Cricketpaw she existed. The little bird tipping her slightly over into too full, she padded out into camp, and followed the sounds of Shrikehop and the light green team. Waiting outside the elders den, she could've easily dozed off, full of sunshine and food.
"A long night, but a good one. We did solid work fellas." Beeswipe felt the siren call of his nest, but this was one of few times to talk to his daylight clanmates. Still, he wasn't interested in crashing Tumbleblossom's seemingly already crashed squirrel-for-two. It was somewhat hilarious how neither Tumblebossom or Stormbreeze seemed to be happy with it, but not a situation he felt like he had enough energy to help defuse. Instead, he swung by the fresh kill and took a mouse with him. It'd do for now, and he'd never had a problem interrupting his off time by waking up for a snack or two. Stretching out in the sunshine for a little bit, and tearing into dinner, he watched Finchflight pace. "Alright there Finchflight? It was a clear night, it should be a wonderful day. We'd better get rain soon though."

Rowanspots with Foxblaze shallow pool @ Tealraven "Me? Going soft? I would never, at least not with you, Foxblaze." Rowanspots says with a deep chuckle, his yellowed gaze brightening ever so slightly and his pupils follow the swing of her prey. He shakes his head now, figuring that his teammate would never admit to any struggle she was experiencing. He knew that much for sure.
Taking a pawstep forward, the speckled tom follows his ginger companion, not wanting to make her wait any longer. Though, it was tempting to take his time, really let her suffer a little for not accepting his help. "Who says I was going to take credit? I'm just offering out of the kindness of my heart." He says with a hint of sarcasm while taking a peek off to the side at Foxblaze. His eyes always seemed to be on her, curious about every little reaction she would have. It's not like she every tried to hide them either.
With a twitch of his tail-tip, Rowanspots pulls ahead and this time doesn't look over his shoulder. "You coming or not? Always so slow, Foxblaze. No wonder I'm always the first to mark the borders."

BerryeyeCamp - to Beeswipe, Stormbreeze, Tigergleam, Tumbleblossom, and Finchflightʀᴀɪɴʟᴇᴀғ 🍁 , little blu ♥ , 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 , 𝙵𝚎𝚛𝚛𝚎𝚝𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚙 , & Tiri -
Berryeye tumbled into camp long after his teammates, dishevelled and exhausted from a long chase with are particularly clever vole that now hung limply from his jaw. I had to catch it, though. He told himself. Everyone else caught so much prey, I couldn't just come back empty pawed. He was just glad he split off from his team enough that none witnessed the chase. His ears and tail perked up when he spotted all of the rest of light blue team chatting with other cats. He thoughtlessly skipped over, dropping the vole into the fresh kill pile on the way and swapping it out for the smallest mouse in the pile. "Hey, everyone's still up, huh?" He chirped. "Tumbleblossom! Haven't seen you in a while. How did your team do?"
Lichenpatch, Badgerkit & Fogkit
Camp Nursery - open
-
Lichenpatch growled as Badgerkit suddenly bolted between his legs and out of the nursery. "Oh, no you don't!" He hissed and scooped back the kit with a quick paw. She giggled as Fogkit rolled over next to her. "You stay right here, or do you not want to eat?" He warned. Both kits quickly calmed down. "Good." He poked his head out, looking to see how full the fresh kill pile was, and also if there was another warrior who could keep an eye on the kits while he napped.
You would think their mother would care enough to not run off to collect some silly herbs before I even got back! He held no grudge against Hopwing for going down her newest path in life nor for figuring out a bit too late that she was not the greatest cat to become a queen, but he would be lying if he said she did not make him want to tear his whiskers out with great frequency. There was nothing he could do about it now, though. He needed to find someone else for now. "Is there anyone who can look after Badgerkit and Fogkit for a while?" He asked aloud, looking between all the cats still in camp as he trotted to the fresh kill pile.

Tawnystripe Camp - With Lichenpatch --
Tawnystripe was, of course, watching. She had her side turned to the rest of camp as she groomed the sleep from her fur, but her eyes weren't on the task; she'd noticed Tigergleam and Finchflight with the other Moonkeepers and couldn't take her eyes from them, watching her children socialize with their teammates as they gathered around the fresh-kill pile. Tawnystripe tucked her chin to her chest as she picked a scrap of moss from her fur with her teeth. With that done, she yawned and allowed herself a stretch.
A spot of white made it two steps from the nursery before Lichenpatch's grey paw shot out beside, stopping the kit in her tracks as he pulled her back in. Tawnystripe smiled at the familiar sight, remembering how hard it was to keep Foxblaze in line when she was Badgerkit's age; none of her other kits had the energy to match the fire colored she-cat, though she guessed Cricketpaw could have kept up if she'd been in the nursery when Tawnystripe's kits were.
A few moments later, Lichenpatch crawled out of the nursery, calling for someone to watch the kits. Tawnystripe blinked and came up beside him at the fresh kill pile, taking a sparrow for herself. "I have noon-high patrol, but I can watch them until then, if you'd like," she offered. She felt bad that the tomcat had been thrust into care for the kits without any other queens to aid him; she'd had at least one other queen to split duties with for all of her litters, and she couldn't imagine what it was like to have to make do on his own.

Tumbleblossom with Berryeye mentions Beeswipe, Tigergleam, & Stormbreeze in camp @ Yacinthe Still a bit disheartened, Tumbleblossom becomes almost overwhelmed by the influx of moonkeepers surrounding them. She would've thought that most of the patrols had gone to their nests by now, but she could understand the need to eat something before resting. Personally, the calico knows that she can't sleep a wink if she doesn't have a bite of something first.
When Beeswipe stops by to pick up a mouse, she gives a polite nod to the older moonkeeper. Her gaze wanders back over to Tigergleam and she catches the grumpy expression of Stormbreeze's face. The molly lets out a forlorn sigh and would turn to nose through the prey again, when the drop of Berryeye's vole startles her.
Tumbleblossom's tri-colored fur rises for a moment, and her dark blue gaze is filled with alarm. Her expression quickly softens and she tucks her head to lick over her chest to hide her embarrassment. "It seems they are," she responds with a smile. "My team did pretty good, I think. Re-marking the borders went quick, and we even had time to catch some prey." The molly glances back down to the pile, finally picking up a squirrel and setting it to the side. "Your vole looks really plump, Berryeye. Good catch!"
While she was itching to get back to her companion, she wasn't so rude that she couldn't have a conversation with her fellow moonkeeper. "What about you and your team? I overheard Tigergleam say the SwanClan border was pretty quiet, for once."

Watching Berryeye join the pile of tomcats and the increasingly fluffed up Tumbleblossom, Beeswipe muffled his purr of amusement in the last mouthfuls of mouse. Tumbleblossom was a grown she-cat, and could take care of herself, but it didn't feel fair to laugh at her, especially when they were all so tired after patrol. Instead, he got up from dinner and padded over to Tawnystripe and Lichenpatch. "You'd probably be far better at it than me," he nodded to Tawnystripe, "but I'm happy to help while you two eat? I come equipped with a tail perfect for small fangs and all grubby from patrol." Which probably didn't make him the ideal babysitter, all things considered. He'd never had kits of his own, he wasn't sure how to handle adorable bundles of rebellion.

(Berryeye appears just to make Tumbleblossom die a little bit more inside lol) BerryeyeCamp - to Beeswipe, Stormbreeze, Tigergleam, Tumbleblossom, and Finchflight
Berryeye ducked down a bit, his tail flicking with embarrassment. "aha, yeah. It's pretty nice, huh?" He muttered quickly, trying not to remember the many bumps and stumbles the thing gave him in their chase. His gaze shifted to Beeswipe as the older tom left, curious and a bit disappointed. Oh well, I guess we'll see him tonight. When Tumbleblossom mentioned Tigergleam his head spun back around, a big grin on his face. "Totally! They didn't dare show their faces. I bet the second the scented these two coming near the border they all ran right back to the nursery with their tail between their legs!" He nudged against Tigergleam while his tail fell over Stormbreeze's shoulders, ignorant to the odd tension among the three cats.
Lichenpatch Camp - to Tawnystripe and Beeswipe
Lichenpatch gratefully nodded, first to Tawnystripe and then Beeswipe. "Thank you, both. If you bring them food they should calm down- at least, Badgerkit should calm down." He said to the tom, handing him a small songbird for his daughters to share. Fogkit was the rowdier of the pair normally, but when her stomach grumbled Badgerkit could leave her sister in the dust. "We won't keep you too long, you need to rest as well after your patrol."

While he hadn't expected the gathering of so many cats, Tigergleam couldn't find it in him to complain. He'd always been adept in social situations and handling others, which is likely why Lightningstar made him moonwatcher. To be frank, the tabby didn't fully believe the leader had made the right choice. Beeswipe had much more experience and knowledge under his pelt. He had recieved the position though, and so he would work his tail off to make sure he did his job diligently.
Tumbleblossom returned with a squirrel, presumably for them to share, and he purred a quiet thanks. As she sat beside him, he brushed her shoulder gently with his tail, flashing a bright grin at her. "Thanks, Tumbleblossom," he meowed, lowering his head to take a quick bite from the offered meal. His ear flicked at Beeswipe's casual praise, turning that smile on his older teammate.
Deep green eyes inevitably landed one of his younger brothers, Finchflight. A burst of longing mixed with sorrow hit his chest. The oldest litter of his half-siblings had been born only moons after his father's death. Sandhawk had meant the world to Tigergleam and when his parents split, it broke his heart. Then Tawnystripe had found Molewhisker and it had all just happened so fast. He didn't dislike his mother's new mate, nor any of his kin, he just found it... difficult to connect. He'd likely missed his chance.
With a harsh shake of his head, he tuned back into the conversation. The golden-brown tabby certainly noticed Stormbreeze's distaste and silently hoped this socialization wasn't draining the other tom too much. "Sorry we interrupted your peace, Storm," he spoke low, so that only the other tom could hear. Then Tigergleam twisted to face Berryeye, admiring the vole the younger tom had caught. "Well done, Berryeye! Eat up and rest, you deserve it!" the moonwatcher praised before settling back to watch and listen, a habit he'd inherited from his mother. Shrikehop didn't even realize he was still leaning up against Beartuft, his legs trembling with the strain of supporting his body with his fourth limb limp and useless. The medicine cat had told the tom he suffered a compound fracture - whatever that meant - and that his recovery time was unknown. The brown tabby didn't want to remember the look in Wildpetal's eyes as she offered him a weak smile. There had been grief and pity in her gaze. Shrikehop grit his teeth just thinking about it. He didn't need her pity. He was going to heal up just fine. There was no other option.
"I knew it! I don't know how the three of you are gonna survive without me," he chuckled, a hint of pain in his green eyes. He hated thinking about his team patrolling and hunting without him. When he was able to return to his duties, he'd never complain about work again. Not now that he knew what true boredom and loneliness was.
His smile didn't falter for a second, even if Sageheart's question hit him harder than it should have. "I'll be good as new soon, no need to worry about me!" Shrikehop cheered, even as his body threatened to give out. It was then he realized that Beartuft was still supporting his dead weight. "Ah, I'm sorry," the marbled tabby exclaimed, seating himself once more, wincing when his leg was jarred. Striped ears flattened to his skull, a mixture of mortification and guilt settling in his chest like a rock.
"I'll be out chasing down squirrels soon. Who's going to keep those bushy-tailed menaces in check otherwise?" he joked, trying to ignore the heaviness of his darker emotions. There was a running gag between the light green team about Shrikehop's hatred of squirrels, the tricky prey often throwing nuts that happened to land on his head. The teasing and laughter felt warm and familiar.

( Yacinthe Love Berryeye, love how oblivious he is <3 ) "Not to worry," he yawned, and picked up the sparrow Lichenpatch picked out. "Food sounds within my abilities at least."
Approaching the den, he ducked low to the ground. "I sure hope no strong warrior are here to steal this prey from me, a hungry, mean fox!" Was this the right way to engage the kits? Beeswipe had no idea, but they made his heart melt whenever he saw his tiniest clanmates. Besides Tawnyswipe was on the case too, she wouldn't let him screw up someone else's kits. Or anything, in general. He twisted around, so his tail fell across the entrance to the nursery, and tried to twitch it enticingly.

Tawnystripe Camp - With Lichenpatch & Beeswipe Yacinthe Tiri -- Tawnystripe gave Lichenpatch a reassuring smile as Beeswipe swiped the sparrow from between the older tom's paws and darted off to the nursery. "I'll make sure they don't get into too much trouble," the torbie queen promised, though she didn't know yet if she was referring to the kits or to the excited Beeswipe; probably both. "Go relax. I'll have Beeswipe fetch you when we need a break." Tawnystripe picked her own sparrow back up and followed where Beeswipe had disappeared into the tangled roots of the oak that housed OwlClan's nursery. The path was familiar to her paws and she relaxed into it, rubbing her flank along the worn roots as she parted the already-green sedges and came into the nursery proper. The smells were familiar, though it lacked the warm, milky scent she'd remembered most vividly from her time here. She checked to make sure the kits were well in paw, then found a place to settle in and supervise the younger tom as she ate the sparrow.

Character image (Still workin on these) Rainhowl Camp ; Healer's Den open The black tom always woke up early. He didn't like it, but that's how it was. The early bird gets the worm and all; Rainhowl wouldn't let some little thing like distaste get in the way of what he wanted, even if he longed to be back in his nest. Instead, he had pushed himself up and paced a few laps around the camp to warm his blood. There had still been an old mouse on the fresh-kill pile from the night before, and he had nibbled on the unwanted morsel as the sun turned the sky grey and the stars finally winked out for good. Some cats did wake with the sun, and the Moonkeepers arrived in a cluster, bringing life and noise to the sleepy camp. He noted Beartuft as he slipped into the elder's den with Sageheart. He watched quietly as Lightningstar crossed the clearing, noting the leader's sharp yellow eye was ringed with red, just as his own was. Though from the vivid color --like blood on his white fur-- Rainhowl guessed that he'd had the mark refreshed this morning. He'd better go too, knowing that the red dye was prepared. The senior warrior pulled himself to his paws, taking a moment to lick the dust from his dark fur, and made his way around the edge of the camp to the fallen log of the healer's den.
