"Yeah yeah of course! You get to help people and nobody bosses you around, well I mean except for Shadowheart of course, oh and you get to talk to starclan! It's nice to see my dad there sometimes" said Finchpaw, not mentioning the trauma of having a cat die right before your eyes.

Sunpaw grumbled at her brother but then looked to Finchpaw. “Being a warrior apprentice is fun, but you also have to stay up all night or, ugh, change the bedding in the elders’ den.” She told Finchpaw, looking at Lionpaw for his agreement. “Plus you get to be the clan medicine cat one day, you’ll be one of the most important cats in the whole clan.” She added with some excitement. Getting to speak to StarClan and being one of the only cats that can get omens or prophecies. It sounded exciting.

//Sorry! I've been really really busy. What just happened? So I can post up Sparrowsong (The lynx killed the fisher, Redstar was told this but lied to the clan and told everyone that Sparrowsong, Blacktooth, darkcloud and Fallingsky has killed it and didn’t mention the lynx. He told them to lie about it and to not tell anyone or they will be punished. Shadowheart is trying to convince him that they need to go speak to StarClan but he’s worried the clan will figure out that something is wrong and refused All the cats that fought the fisher are by the giant redwood and are probably being asked a ton of questions by their clan mates. Shadowheart will be having a visit from the old medicine cat in his dreams and then will be able to convince Redstar to seek help from StarClan. ) |

"Yeah, that's one of the lesser tasks." Lionpaw nodded at his sister's comment. He wasn't really interested in being a medicine cat, it looked like a big burden to him. And it seemed like Finchpaw did feel that burden too. Nah, being a warrior gave him more freedom. Well, not right now unfortunately as his mentor barged into the den - and the conversation. He sighed and dragged himself onto his paws. "Alright, alright. Coming."

(I FINALLY updated. Darkcloud can be Bramblepaw's temp mentor, if someone else would like to mentor then just let me know!!)
Sunpaw snuck a teasing look at Lionpaw as he left, feeling as though he had probably came to check on her just to avoid having to go on patrol. "Have fun!" She called after him, already feeling much better. She wanted to go out and ask Fallingsky what happened, but she stayed put, feeling that Finchpaw was starting to feel stressed out by all the questions about being a medicine cat. She was sure it must be stressful, having the lives of others in your paws. While she had to fight others and defend her clanmates, she never had to sit and watch them die from illness or injury. The she-cat rolled onto her flank slightly and laid her head down. She was sure Fallingsky would come and give her an update when he was free.

"You know Sunpaw, maybe you could teach me a few things about fighting so I wouldn't be such a waste of space" Finchpaw said, looking wistfully at the other apprentices learning to fight.

Sunpaw puffed out her chest, feeling proud that another apprentice was asking for her help. "Once my paw pads are healed then I can train you when I don't have duties!" She quickly told him, feeling determined. The clan defeated that beast and now she was being asked to help with training, how could she not be in a good mood. She couldn't wait to tell her siblings, and wondered if her father may say something. He had to have seen her when she entered the camp, maybe he was just waiting for a good time to see how she was?

"So you helped kill the fisher?" Greywind asked tilting his head slightly to the side. Blacktooth made up his mind to just go along with it. He would come clean about all of this later on when he assumed Redstar would forget. Maybe in a moon or so if he remembered. "Ha I gave the killing blow!"
Silverfrost shakes her head at him. "Honestly, you barely have a scratch on you. You probably kept it distracted while someone else killed it."
Blacktooth rolled his eyes at her. "Maybe I am so fast that the fisher didn't get a chance to touch me!" This led to a playful argument which Greywind watched on in amusement.

Fallingsky listened to the cats praise them, but quickly made his way away from all of the cats. He chest felt heavy, there was a burden hanging over him. What the lynx had said was serious, and now he had to pretend like it never happened. He laid in front of the nursery, embarrassed that not only everyone thought they killed the fisher but he brought no prey home for his family.

Darkcloud smiled to hide his discomfort. He had been worried that Blacktooth would have refused to lie, but it seemed the tom would be happy to indulge Redstar so long as he got credit. The black tom walked over to the siblings. "He's telling the true, it almost pounced on me but Blacktooth caught it off guard and killed it." The cat stated, he tried to keep the story as true as possible, just switching around the who. The dark warrior noticed others were also listening and shifted with discomfort, worried that he will be discovered. He looked to Fallingsky, urging the cat to agree with him.

Thornfang grumbled under his breath. He had wanted to be part of the patrol killing the fisher but he had missed out because he had been hunting. In the corner he had seen Echoheart depart from the medicine cat den. His blue eyes turned to slits. Sunpaw had played a part in killing the fisher - not a big one - but well, she was there. It was better than his disappointment of a son. And Bramblepaw; she might as well not exist to him. His daughters definetely had more potential though, they were more open to his influence. He could make them great warriors and even better, pull them away from their lazy mother. The large tabby walked over to the freshkill pile, picking up the first thing he saw and made his way to the medicine cat den.

Frogwhisker had listened intently to Redstar's announcement, she felt no need to moon over the warriors that had killed the fisher though. It was gone now, there was nothing more to it.

Lionpaw shrugged, he wasn't competitive at all. Bramblepaw and Sunpaw spent so much time on their clan duties but there was more to life than being defined by your skills. "I could go for a nice rabbit." He meowed once he caught up Mudface.

Dewsong walked over to the group, her ears perked to hear their stories about defeating the fisher. "That's really courageous of you Blacktooth." She smiled, finally there was something to be excited about. After all the hardship the clan had been through the past leafbare, this was something they needed. Her gaze quickly shifted back over to Darkcloud, wondering what more they could tell about their victory.

Mudface swiped his tongue around his muzzle "mmmm I haven't had rabbit in a while, let's head to the pine grove, and see what's over there" Mudface said, charging off towards the grove.

Blacktooth felt his fur prickle with embarrassment. "It's nothing really just doing what I can to protect the clan!" He said thinking that sounded heroic. Silverfrost just shakes her head at him. She still found it hard to believe, but decided not to question it. "Long as you don't constantly brag about this victory than it's whatever."
"Either way don't make it a habit to launch yourself at predators. You still need to be careful and stay alive." Greywind said with a soft purr.

Darkcloud watched the siblings as they bickered back and fourth with mild amusement, glad that Blacktooth’s new claim to fame wasn’t going to his head yet. It all seemed so normal that the black tom almost forgot about the lie. Soon though, he felt a gaze on him, he glanced to its’ direction to see that Dewsong had turned her attention to him after she had spoke. He felt his ears grow hot, it felt wrong to sit here and lie to the sister of his mate. However, he saw how firm Redstar had been in his dicision and knew that until the red tom had calmed down, there was nothing he could do. All the deputy’s hope fell onto Shadowheart, whom he saw chase after their leader when the announcement was finished. Maybe there was a plan that he didn’t know of yet. He gave Dewsong a polite nod, unsure of what to say to the she-cat. “It was quite the battle, hopefully the last we will see for a while.” He eventually said, hoping that would be enough to stop her for asking about it.

Finchpaw walked into the forest, heading to the juniper berry bush. He stuffed his mouth full of them and started walking back to camp. He put the juniper berries in the den. He yawned, hoping to get some rest he headed towards his nest. He curled up and fell asleep.

Once Thornfang entered the medicine cat den he dropped the vole he grabbed from the pile at Sunpaw's feet. "I hear you called the warriors to kill the fisher." The large tom started as he sat down opposite of his daughter, his icy gaze resting on her face. "I didn't think you'd need me to hold your paw while in here, you're close to being a grown warrior." His tail rolled and unrolled again. "But your mother looked all dramatic when she left here.."

Dewsong nodded at Darkcloud. "I hope so.. I'm glad you're okay." She meowed and glanced around the group. "Seems like you all made it back pretty much unharmed." They must have been quite lucky, after what the fisher did to their camp she had kept the possibility in her mind that it would hurt one of her clanmates badly.

Lionpaw broke into a run after his mentor, staying a tad behind so he could see what Mudface was going to do first. Hopefully they'd find some rabbits soon. He wanted to go back and take some time to lounge in the sun.

Mudface's tail twitched, signaling to Lionpaw to crouch, he himself dropped down creeping closer towards a rabbit. "Ok Lionpaw, you give it a go, and if you fail I'll try" he whispered.

Sunpaw watched her face quickly, her heart skipping a beat when he had brought her prey. She shook her head quickly at his words. “Of course not, I’m completely able to care for myself.” She told him, trying to hide her nervousness. “She was just worried because no one had told her what had happened.” Sunpaw explained, not wanting her mother to be scolded because of her actions.still, part of her was excited that he had taken the time to see it, it was rare that he even glanced in her direction.
Darkcloud nodded. “Yes, we were all very lucky.” He told her, noting that it did look odd that they killed the fisher without any of them having a serious injury. However, the clan had seemed to have accepted what Redstar had said, so he felt no need to think more about it. “Thank you for coming to check on us.” He added with genuine appreciation, even though they were saved, many of the group were still on edge after what happened.

I guess she isn’t as confident in your independence as I am.” The large tom shrugged and raised to his paws again. He wasn’t going to linger around for too long; he had better things to do. “Eat up and I’ll see you back on your duties soon.” With that he departed from the medicine cat den.
