Darkcloud nodded quickly as Fallingsky spoke. "It gave us a warning, that the mountain will kill everything. It was odd, it seemed genuine when it spoke." He told Redstar, Looking to Shadowheart to see if the medicine cat was seeming just as bewildered as their leader did.
Redstar was silent for a while, looking at all the cats involved. He seemed off from his usual happy-go-lucky self, almost as if he was upset with the cats. "No word of the lynx will leave this meeting. Whoever mentions it will be punished." He said sharply. The whole clan would panic, many of them were shadows of what they once where, skin and bones- far from the macular and imposing cats that they were last leaf-fall. "You killed the fisher, that's what the clan will know as the truth." He then stood, giving the cats one last look to confirm that they understood. "Now, I will make an announcement to the clan, please act as though you were victorious." He said softly, almost pleading. He could imagine the chaos that would consume the clan if an even larger danger was reported. The mountain will kill everything? He shook his head and climb the massive tree until he stood high above the clan on the largest, twisted root. "Let all cats old enough to hunt their own prey gather beneath The Giant Cedar!" He shouted.
Darkcloud was shocked by Redstar's reaction, but nodded. "In front of the Giant Cedar. Do as Redstar ordered." He told them, walking out and taking his place at the base of the tree. "There will be more questions." He whispered quietly, warning the others that their clan will demand answers.
Sunpaw limped out of the medicine cat den with Echoheart supporting her. Her face brightened when she saw Fallingsky alive and well.

Blacktooth blinked a few times as he thinks about Redstar's words. He briefly considered just telling his siblings in secret. What Redstar doesn't know won't hurt him. However, he did like the idea of possibly being the one who gave the killing blow. He honestly wasn't sure what to do at the moment.
Greywind and Silverfrost walked over towards the Great Cedar eager to know what Redstar had to say. Greywind assumed that they had possibly some good news.

Fallingsky found himself sitting next to Shadowheart, he watched Redstar waiting for the tom to talk. What could he possibly have to say to the clan so soon? Why did they have to lie about the lynx? So many questions that he hoped the meeting would answer. He looked back towards the nursery, assuming his mate and kits were sleeping.

(I'm just going to go ahead)
Once all of the clan had gathered, Redstar took a deep breath before speaking, looking confident- a stark contrast to how he was moments ago. "I am proud to announce that these warriors before you have killed the fisher that raided our clan earlier today." He told the clan, staying silent as cheering and chatting erupted from the crowd of cats beneath him. The air in the camp seemed much lighter than it had earlier. Pelts, once raised due to anxiety now laid flat, shoulders dropped and claws retreated back into their sheathes. Once most of the noise had died down, Redstar continued to speak. "This Leaf-bare was one of the worst we have seen in generations. We had lost dear friends and family due to it's harsh grip." He allowed another break after he spoke, many lowered their heads, thinking of the lives that had been lost due to sickness, cold and starvation. When cats begun to look up at him expectantly, he continued. "Those lives lost however, will never be forgotten, we remember then with each step we take into the future. We are Taigaclan, the Hardy and Brave! We are strong! Together, we will take back the strength we had lost. I want these brave warriors to serve as beacons of light and hope to each and every cat here that we will move forward despite an obstacles we may face. We are blessed by our ancestors in Starclan, and will be forevermore!" When Redstar was happy with the results of his speech, he pounced down to the base of the tree. "Happy faces, you four are heroes." He told the cats quietly before leaving for his den, several cats rushed towards the group with questions about their adventure.

Shadowheart watched his leader with confusion and followed him to his den. “I know your trying to protect the clan, but ignoring an omen is not protecting them.” He mewed to Redstar as they reached the den entrance. There was no way he could let the leader ignore something so serious, he could put the whole clan in danger. “We need to go to the Whispering Red Wood.” Shadowheart demanded, but prepared himself for the leader to snap back at him.
Fallingsky puffed out his chest slightly, trying to prove that he had helped kill the fisher. He watched as Quietstream trotted up to him, wishing he could go to sleep in nest. He doubted he’d ever be able to sleep again with the terrible thoughts of what the Lynx had said.

Redstar look to the medicine cat and shook his head. "We can't." He told the tom with a quiet voice, concern clear on his face as he spoke. "If we go to the Whispering Red Wood then the clan will know something is wrong." The red cat sat down, wrapping his tail tightly to his body as he narrowed his eyes in thought. "This leaf-bare was the worst we had ever seen. Even Heavypelt admitted that he had never seen one like it. what the clan needs right now is time to recover, not only physically, but mentally too. If I tell them about the Lynx, they will lose even more hope and faith. It's best to give them a sense of security, even if it's just for a moon." The tom looked tired and fragile at this moment, clearly this had not been decided with ease, but he had to act confident in his decision to prevent the warriors from telling the truth.

Shadowheart began to pace as he tried to hold back his tongue, but he wouldn’t let the leader make a decision like this. “What if we don’t have a moon?” He asked with worry in voice as he looked Redstar in the eyes. The lynx was sign, it was warning them. If the leader wanted to protect the clan he needed to be truthful,. If the mountain was to kill everything, then the clan was sure involved in the destruction.

Redstar shifted on his paws, disliking the confrontation. "Shadowheart, this isn't up for discussion. I have given my orders. The clan is to know nothing until I decide it is time. Starclan wouldn't send us a lynx to warn us. I'm sure the mountain is just stirring and it is scaring the younger animals who had never seen an avalanche before. We know that an avalanche will never reach camp and that all of the twolegs have already retreated from their leaf-bare den." The red tom explained. "I trust Starclan will come to guide us when it is needed. However, right now the clan needs hope. You know I have the clan's best interest in mind when I make these choices."

Shadowheart gave Redstar a defensive glare, he couldn’t believe the tom was insisting that he doesn’t go to the Whispering Red Wood. He straightened his posture and took a step towards the entrance but watched Redstar, “you’re making a mistake.” He said and lashed his tail as he left the den and let out a long sigh once he was in the fresh air. Redstar had always been a respectable leader, but what he is doing could be dangerous. The life of the clan is on the line, I hope he comes to his senses.

Redstar opened his mouth to respond but decided against it. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Either way, he would be falling his clan. He laid down onto his nest, his legs feeling weak. He silently cursed to himself. He had never planned to be leader, to have this power of life or death, but now he did. He had to try his best to keep the clan happy, thriving. Surely Starclan would've provided them with a true sign if something was going to happy, opposed to an ominous lynx. He reassured himself that the lynx was taking about an avalanche, nothing else would make sense. The ginger tom rested his head on his paws, wanting to rest. His body still aching from his fight with the fisher.

Finchpaw walked into the clearing. He was suprised to see Sunpaw walking around despite their injury "You good Sunpaw? Do you need any poppy seeds for the pain?" he asked

Sunpaw looked to Finchpaw, leaning against Echoheart’s flank for support. She shook her head, still looking exhausted. “I think I’m okay, my paws still hurt but they feel better than before.” She told the cat, her eyes occasionally glancing to the warriors by the tree, she wanted to go hear their story but she knew she would get in trouble for straying too far from the medicine den. “I’m sorry for leaving without asking.”
Echoheart looked to the medicine cat apprentice and gave an apologetic look. “It’s my fault Finchpaw, we heard Redstar call for a clan netting and we left the den without asking you or Shadowheart.” She told the cat, feeling a tinge of embarrassment.

(Sunpaw is very serious and stern, so maybe her sibling(s) could be more easy going or shy? Echoheart is a nice but lazy cat so they could take after her? I’m trying to think of good dynamics haha)
“Fallingsky killed the fisher.” Sunpaw purred, proud of her mentor.
Echoheart shook her head, “It wasn’t just Fallingsky,” she corrected with a gentle tone, “Blacktooth, Sparrowsong and Darkcloud also protected the clan. All four of them deserve to be praised.”
Sunpaw sunk down a little, her ears feeling hot from embarrassment when her mother pointed out her mistake. “We, yes, sorry. I misspoke.” She said, looking to Finchpaw as she apologized. “I’m glad we will be safe now. This leaf-bare must have been very hard for you Finchpaw.” She mewed quietly. Finchpaw had become The medicine cat apprentice in the middle of a very harsh season, they must have seen things that most medicine cat apprentices never had. They lost many of their clanmates.

(Hmm I kinda know which way I want them to go but I don't seem to get the right words on paper haha. Lionpaw (their brother) will be easygoing and more like their mom. I think that'd be fun ^^ Maybe Bramblepaw should be something in between them? I'd like to think Lionpaw and Sunpaw are both troublemakers for different reasons, Sunpaw for being outspoken and Lionpaw for joking around all the time lol)

(Sunpaw is very bold and competitive too. She would try to one up her siblings when it comes to like hunting and stuff. I imagine that she would probably act like she’s the oldest even if she isn’t. She means well but she’s young and is very hurt that her father wants nothing to do with her so she compensates)

Sunpaw looked surprise, she hadn’t known. “Well it’s a good thing it had been just the one attack this morning. I never want to see another fisher for the rest of my life. I heard stories from Heavypelt but seeing it is completely different.” Sunpaw mewed in eager agreement, she still felt shaky but the good news had put her at ease. She had made the right choice when she had decided to go find help. The clan would have had difficulty is the fisher had lingered for longer. It was thanks to StarClan that it hadn’t shown up before new-leaf. “I wonder why it even came here...” she added, remembering that even the senior warriors had been surprised. “Oh! Are you liking being a medicine cat apprentice?” She asked, she had hardly gotten the chance to talk to Finchpaw after she had left the nursery to become a warrior apprentice. The calico remembered them playing with her siblings, though Finchpaw had been much younger so they always had to be gentle.
Echoheart watched the two apprentices as they chatted, glad that the recent events hadn’t dampened their spirits. “Now that it is dead we no longer have to worry.” She told the two, reassuring them. She had also never seen one before. To have it attack the camp had shocked her and many others. Like everyone else, she was glad that it was subdued before it had the chance to attack again at night. “Shadowheart must be a good mentor, you seem to already be so knowledgeable after only a few moons.” She purred to Finchpaw, remembering when they had been just a kit not long ago.

Lionpaw had listened to Redstar's announcement for a few heartbeats but had quickly lost interest. He wondered what went on with Sunpaw and why she went to see the medicine cat so he decided he'd go over to investigate. He popped his head into the den, his ears perking up at the voices. "Hey little sis. What's up?" The young tom asked as he stepped inside, meowing a greeting to both his mother and Finchpaw.

Sunpaw’s eats laid flat when she heard Lionpaw’s voice. “I’m not little. We’re the same age!” She stated with a slight growl, flicking her tails as Echoheart lead her back inside the medicine cat den and onto the nest she had been laying on before. She looked back to Finchpaw, “Well I hope to be a warrior before Greenleaf, I can’t say the same about Lionpaw though.” She answered, giving Lionpaw an annoyed look. Her brother is far too easy going. “Anyways, I was just telling Finchpaw about Redstar’s announcement. He missed it.”
Echoheart signed as she watched the two siblings, then gave Finchpaw an apologetic look. “You two be good.” She told her children before exiting the den.

Lionpaw playfully rolled his amber eyes as Sunpaw growled at him. "Calm down. I was just checking up on you geeshh." It always amused him how touchy Sunpaw could be about age, skill and all the warrior stuff. "I'll be fine." He grinned, he'd be a warrior in due time for sure. No reason to stress about it. Bramblepaw and Sunpaw were doing way too much to suck up to their mentors in his opinion. He waved his tail at Echoheart when she departed from the den before turning back to the other apprentices. "Redstar's announcement was nothing too special, you didn't miss much Finchpaw. Being a medicine cat is fun too, right?"
