| Loki | Hopscotch Chasm | "Exactly." Loki said as Varian questioned why they'd said anything. Sometimes it was easier to throw people off guard when they were already a little unbalanced. Not literally- Loki wasn't planning on shoving anyone into the abyss or anything. "Corona? Never heard of it." Loki said (unlike most of the RPers who probably wished they hadn't heard of it either). "Have you heard of Asgard? That's where I- where I grew up." "As a scientist it's important for me to blah blah blah." Loki mocked, repeating Varian's words in a pretty good imitation, but higher pitched and whinier. It wasn't totally mean-spirited, but it had the air of someone who always just took the joke a little too far, a little too mean. Loki took another step forwards, moving along with the group. If everyone was too fast, though, they could totally see someone slipping or knocking someone else off a stone. They made sure to keep some distance between themself and the others. "Forwards. To wherever this leads." They took another step forwards, balancing as they placed one foot on a tiny stone. They felt their balance waver and they threw their hands up, leaning back. But before they could fall or flail about embarrassingly, they blinked out.

[[ ??? || hopscotch chasm ]] Feeling he was a good enough distance from the small crowd, the shade paused on the step as he continued to listen, starting to wish he had a notebook to keep track of everything. It might be a bit difficult to find one when he returned but it might be worth a try, especially if this was going to continue to reoccur. He noticed Viktor waving in his direction and glanced over his shoulder, momentarily thinking that someone else must have appeared behind him before realizing and waving back. He rarely interacted with people where he was from and was having a bit of difficulty getting used to doing so here, but at the same time, he was no longer sure that he disliked it. Well, as long he wan’t trapped in a crowd. They thought had only just occurred to him when blinked back to the empty city. (Assuming no one else is still on- otherwise he’s still there asdfgjk)

[[ ??? || Hopscotch chasm ]] The shade was in the middle of what had at one point been a shop, searching for a notebook he could bring with him the next time he returned to… Wherever that was. Unfortunately he wasn’t having much luck, what books he had found so far weren’t particularly fit for use, torn, pages stuck together or crumbling from exposure to the elements. He had just picked up another from the shelf when the remnants of the shop were replaced with the shadowy room he was almost getting used to. He turned carefully on the stepping stone, searching the room for the others, but found that it was empty. That was a bit odd considering his last few visits to the place, so far Vikor had been there every time and usually there were others, though he hadn’t yet spoken much with them. “Hello?” He tried, just in case. Hopefully no one else had fallen off the path… Adora had been alright but they still didn’t know if her being sent back to her world then had been caused by the fall or just a coincidence.

| Loki | Hopscotch Chasm | Loki barely had time to register their blink back into the desert they'd found themself in before they were dragged back into the strange little house, in the blink of an eye. They found themself balancing on the same stone they'd been only moments ago- a larger one they could rest both of their feet on. They balanced themself, then looked around. The room was quieter this time, with only the shadowy figure from before. Or, at least, Loki assumed it was the same person. They'd never caught a name from him. "Who are you, anyways?" Loki asked, clearly addressing the only other person in the room.

[[ ??? || hopscotch chasm ]] Oh, there was another blinker! He was actually a bit relieved to see someone else in the strange room, maybe he was simply the first to arrive this time then. He remembered this person from both his first and last blinks, the ra’Seirri who’d conjured te flames the humans had been so interested in. They’d been called… Loki? He was still trying to decide if that was right when they spoke, asking the question he’d been trying to avoid since the first time this had happened. ”Me?” He asked, fully aware there was no one else in the room they could’ve been talking to. “I…” wish you could tell me, he said the last bit in his head before trying again. “I’m no one of importance,” the shade said with a shrug. ”Why I was brought here… I couldn’t tell you.” Hmm, maybe if this was going to continue he should consider looking for a name first and then a notebook. Even if it wasn’t his own it would be useful fro situations like this.

| Loki | Hopscotch Chasm | "No one of importance. Hum. I find that a lot of people fit that category. They still have names, though. Surely you have one?" Loki inquired further, lowering their eyebrows as they tried to catch a glimpse of the person's face under the shadowy hood. How mysterious. "I've no idea why we were brought here either, but I intend to find out." Loki stepped over to the next stone, taking advantage of the larger stone under their feet to plan their path carefully. They stepped along a few smaller ones before balancing on one just large enough to hold both their feet, if they stood with them close together.

[[ ??? || hopscotch chasm ]] “I suppose they probably do… and I might…” The shade admitted, lowering his head a bit further as the other ra’Seirri watched him. Was he really going to have to admit he didn’t know his own name? He grateful that the darkness of the room they’d ended up in helped keep his face hidden at least. As long as there was nothing waiting in the shadows that he was unable to sense. He glanced to the trail ahead of them still not not seeing it’s end. Without any landmarks it was hard to tell whether they were actually making progress or if they were being sent back to the same place every time they returned. “As do I,” he agreed, carefully following the other blinker as they started down the path. Talking about the strange situation they were in was easier to attempting to talk about himself at least, though he had a feeling he hadn’t escaped the topic. “Perhaps we’ll find some answers at the end of this… Wherever that might be.”

| Loki | Hopscotch Chasm | Loki paused. Fascinating. The shade didn't know his own name. There was a story there, and Loki was curious what was happening wherever he'd teleported in from that had led to that. They hummed, curious, then turned their attention back to the treacherous stone path. "Agreed. And with far less people to hold us back, I think we can make a fair bit of progress here. Let's go." Loki said, jumping to the next stepping stone. They looked around, spotting another one nearby. They stepped onto it, though it was only big enough for the tip of their shoe. They quickly hopped to the next one.

"Yes, well, if you'd been paying attention when Commander Minkovski gave the directions the first time - "
She stopped as the world lurched and vanished once again, sending her code and wires splaying in all directions before landing in a semi-familiar pattern she was growing to recognize as the House.
"UGH, there has GOT to be a better way to do that," she complained, slowly bringing her sensory system back online as she figured out the new arrangement of her code. It wasn't as bad as what Hilbert did - it didn't break her, and it didn't take as long to recover from, but it was still jarring, and she really really didn't like it.
"Uh...hello?" she said after a moment, listening to her voice echo over what seemed to be mostly total darkness, with spots illuminated here and there that seemed to be something like little platforms. "Aaaanybody here?"

[[ ??? || Hopscotch Chasm ]] The shade had only been back in his world for a couple of minutes when he reappeared, turning the pages of a dusty book, the edges of it’s pages slightly singed. It wasn’t it the greatest condition but was in better shape than many of the others he’d found. It could probably work well enough. Recognizing the changed in his surroundings, he looked up. Like last time, he saw no one, but he could feel… well he wasn’t sure what it was. A different energy he couldn’t locate the source of. Feeling a bit uneasy, he turned carefully a couple times on the stone he’d blinked in on, but still couldn’t make sense of it, and when the disembodied voice spoke he jumped. The book slipped through his fingers and he attempted to grab it but it had already vanished into the darkness below. The shade sighed, as difficult as it had been to find it wasn’t worth diving into the abyss for. Instead he turned his attention to the voice he’d heard, or rather, tried to, he still wasn’t sure where it was coming from. “Uh… yes, I am...” He really didn’t like not being able to tell where the other person was, for someone with his abilities it felt completely unnatural. Even in the darkness he should have been able to locate her from her energy, if the sound of her voice wasn’t enough.

Hera | Chasm Hopscotch | @--red raven |
Pop. Just like last time, after a few moments alone, she was abruptly joined by another person, seeming to appear out of nowhere.
"Oh - uh, hi?" she said, focusing her optical sensors on the person as well as she could - they were dressed all in black, hard for her to see up against the black of the room. "Sorry about your book," she added sympathetically, watching it fall down, down, down, and out of sight into the blackness of whatever was down below this room. "Was it important?"

“It… wasn’t exactly important… just a bit difficult to find,” he replied, glancing down to where it had disappeared. “It’s alright, I can find another.” Hopefully. The ruins of Kirro weren’t exactly the best place to go book shopping but that was what he had to work with, if he went somewhere else he would likely have to steal it since he had no money. They still didn’t know much about the place, maybe the book would be affected by whatever was affecting him and the others and would be sent back with him? Probably not but nothing else made much sense so it wouldn’t be shocking. “Where exactly… are you anyway?” He asked as he made another hopeless attempt to locate her. She didn’t really sound threatening but not being able to see her still made him uncomfortable.

Hera | new room????? | strider |Oh...I'm here again. She was getting better. At remembering when she was home, on the Hephaestus, and when she was here. In the Other Place. Even though she seemed to be in a completely different place each time, she was starting to notice that her circuitry always felt similar - disjointed yet completely functional in a way she could now pinpoint in what, to a human, would be a quarter of a second. To her, that was very, very slow. She needed to get faster. But for now, she needed to see where she - Oh, no. Really? This place was going to knock out her visual processors this time, too? How was she supposed to participate at all if she couldn't even see what was happening. "This is so annoying," she said, letting her voice ring out over her speaking system, which seemed to be still working, but it was hard to know for sure without being able to see if anyone was in here, where here was, or if they'd reacted to her at all.

“-do we even need to learn…” Hinata trailed off, eyes widening as he realized he wasn’t walking the hallway anymore. He had been chatting with one of the other first years, just trying to waste time until he could show up to volleyball practice. Well… before he could watch volleyball practice. Thanks to Kageyama, he wasn’t going to get to join it any time soon. He crossed his arms, frowning a little as he tried to take stock of where he was. It was… well, it wasn’t the same place as last time, although that wasn’t saying much. The place last time had basically been two different places, and if they had managed to get across the weird platforms he had seen last time, then maybe this was whatever was beyond that. Hopefully, if he was here, that meant that nobody else had been hurt… he would have to wait and see if anyone knew if the one girl had been okay. He didn’t think falling from that high was very safe, but he hadn’t heard her hit the ground, so… maybe she had landed on pillows or something. “Hm?” Hinata asked, gaze shooting up as he realized he could hear someone talking. He wasn’t alone here – was it whoever had been in the walls last time?

Hera | who needs eyes when you have wires for brains | strider |"Oh, um....hello?" Hera's voice rang out again, uncertain, as someone new started talking from somewhere in the void of space she wouldn't be able to see until she figured out what was wrong with her optical sensors. She didn't even know for sure if he was answering her or someone else, but it seemed rude to ignore him when she'd been the one to talk first. She paused, thinking for a moment. "Weird question, actually. Can you see anything?"

“Hi!” Hinata returned, obviously relieved at the clarification that he wasn’t alone. He wouldn’t have minded being alone, but he would rather have known if he was just hearing things or if there actually had been a voice coming from somewhere else. He took a breath, looking around as though he could figure out where the voice was coming from. “I… yeah. I can see! But… there aren’t any like… holes in the walls or cameras or anything, so maybe that’s why it’s dark for you. If… if it is dark for you, I’m just assuming that’s why you asked, but if it’s not…” he cut himself off, looking around one more time. “There’s a thing here. In the middle of the room. It’s kind of… counting down.”

Hera | oh no | strider |Hera, for her part, was also relieved to not be alone. She preferred having someone to talk to - someone to bounce ideas off of - especially since she couldn't see. It was nice to know there was someone nearby, especially someone who could see, and could relay that information to her if needed. "No, it's not really like that," she said, running into the problem of how to explain something like this to a human for not the first time in her life. "It's not like being in a dark room. It's more like...if you didn't have eyes, or eyelids. My..."eyes"...just aren't working right now." She was about to add something else to her explanation, clarify further, but as soon as Hinata described something in the room, something popped up on Hera's periphery. "Oh, wait a minute, I'm g g - ett etting something here. I think it's a....file? Hold on, I can open it - " The file opened for her easily, revealing a complicated diagram, complete with written instructions and little arrows pointing to various bits of a device that she understood instantly. And...a countdown timer, in the corner of the file window. "Ooooooooooooookayyyyyyyyyyyyyy...." she said slowly, her voice drawn out over the invisible speakers. "So we might kind of sort of be about to explode. I think."

“Oh…” Hinata replied, frowning a little as he tried to picture that. “So… so you’re like… an AI or something?” He had only ever heard of the concept in science fiction movies, and those weren’t his favorite genre, but this place already seemed enough like a science fiction story that he didn’t have a hard time believing that there was someone wired into the walls. “Can you not see because there aren’t any cameras here, or is that… something else?” He tilted his head, not sure if his questions were welcomed or invasive. He had never interacted with anyone who wasn’t human before, and he wasn’t sure he was asking the right sort of questions. Figuring out how to navigate high school seemed much easier in comparison. “Explode?” Hinata asked, eyes huge as he approached the thing in the middle of the room. There was part of him that was definitely a little terrified by the prospect, but there was another part of him that was excited at the idea of having something cool to do. Assuming, of course, that there was a way to stop them from exploding. “Is there a way to… not do that? What kind of file do you mean?” He frowned, wishing he understood how Hera worked a little bit better. “Oh… if we’re about to explode, then I should probably at least tell you my name. I’m Hinata Shōyō!”

“Hera,” Hinata repeated, uncertain if that was the correct pronunciation in spite of the little stutter. He also wasn’t sure if it had been her name or a reprimand for asking questions. Since she hadn’t said anything else, he decided to assume it was her name. If it wasn’t, she could just correct him later. It wasn’t like it was a big deal. “Huh?” he asked, shaking the thoughts away and moving towards the thing in the middle of the room. He wasn’t going to admit to himself that it was a bomb – he had a feeling he was going to start freaking out as soon as he let himself believe that was really what it was. “Oh. Small screws. Yeah. Got it. Carefully.” He knelt down, concentrating on the object for a few moments before he found the screws. He gently placed his fingernail in the head of one of them, unscrewing it as carefully as he could. Less than five minutes to do this… “Got it. They’re both out. The plate came off, too.”

The more the timer counted down, the more certain Hinata was that this was a dangerous situation. He didn’t know why there was a bomb, and he didn’t know why Hera couldn’t see, and he didn’t know why she was the one with the instructions and he couldn’t see anything, but he was beginning to feel very, very sick to his stomach. He stared at the metal plate in his hands for a long moment before he put it down, trying to convince himself that he was fine. That this was all fine, and totally not dangerous at all. He wasn’t a professional. Even though she was in the walls, Hinata had a feeling Hera wasn’t a professional either. “Yeah, there… there are,” he confirmed, counting them to make sure it was exactly how Hera had described it. “They’re… they’re all a little bit tangled together, but there are sixteen of them.” He recounted one more time, just to be sure.

Hinata | volleyball is less stressful than bomb defusing | <Raintalon> “Third yellow down and fourth green down…” Hinata repeated, wondering for a long moment whether that meant looking down at the bomb and figuring out which of the tangled wires was on top of the others, or looking at the ports where they were plugged in and counting the one furthest from him as the top. After a moment of deliberation, Hinata decided that the latter made more sense. Still… “So… it’s like it’s a pattern of yellow, green, blue, red, repeating on the left side… and the same pattern on the right side, but the wires aren’t going straight across or anything… you want me to pull the third yellow down and the fourth green? Or… or do you mean on the right side?” He had a feeling he was asking inane questions, but he didn’t actually mind. He would much rather ask a stupid question than be killed because he didn’t want to ask those questions.

"Co - ou- n nt downwards from there. Three down for yellow, four down for green, so the last green plug before the bottom of the machine. Then switch the plugs - agh, why won't these come back online?" The truth was, she hadn't meant to say that last part audibly, and she didn't even know that she had. While she talked to Hinata, she was running a lot of code very very quickly to try and get her vision back, and none of it was working, which was making her nervous, because they had three minutes left on the timer and she was really starting to doubt that she could explain any of this fast enough for Hinata to follow before the timer ran out. Calm down...one problem at a time. Focus.

Hinata | not covered in the typical Japanese curriculum | <Raintalon> “OH!” Hinata exclaimed, finally understanding what Hera had meant from down and up. He nodded, eyes narrowed as he carefully pulled out both of the necessary wires. He stared at them for a long moment, debating whether there was a specific order in which they had to be plugged back in, but he figured if that was important, Hera would have mentioned it. He settled for switching them and plugging them in at the exact same time. Hopefully, that would work. He sat back up, wiping a bit of sweat from his forehead and making sure none of it dripped into the bomb. He knew electronics and water didn’t mix, and he didn’t want to see what happened if this got even slightly damp. “Is it uh… is it warm in here, or is it just ‘cause I’m kinda panicking?” Hinata asked, trying to calm himself down. “I uh… I switched the wires. So the yellow one is a lot closer to the bottom now, and there’s a yellow right above it, too.”

She could not believe she was wishing Hilbert of all people was here right now...but he would know how to do this. She wouldn't have to tell him. "Yes, that's right," she confirmed quickly, snapping back to attention. "The yellow right above the one you just switched needs to be swapped with the topmost blue. But you need to take the blue out before you touch the yellow, or you'll trip the safeguard. Don't touch anything yellow until you disconnect that blue wire."

Hinata reappeared moments later, crouched down a bit as he stared at something overhead. His school uniform had been replaced by a yellow jersey-like fabric over a white shirt, and he now bore kneepads. He took a breath, starting a little as he realized that he was no longer on the court. Right… he stepped back, gaze once again catching on the bomb. Oh.What had Hera said? Yellow needed to be swapped with blue, and it was the yellow right above the one he had swapped out before, but that had been hours ago, and he wasn’t sure he was remembering the right one. He swallowed, looking around as though maybe someone else would be there this time. Someone who actually knew what they were doing. "Hera?" Hinata called, uncertain if he had to tackle it all alone this time.

Hinata glanced at the wires, relief flooding him as he realized he wasn’t alone. It was stressful enough doing it with Hera there to guide him, he couldn’t even imagine what it would be like to have to do it all on his own. He glanced up as though he could see her, then back down at the wires. “I know which ones I’m supposed to switch,” Hinata said after a moment. “The blue one that’s up top and the yellow one that’s above the bottommost yellow one. But there was another instruction, and you gave it to me like four hours ago so I don’t remember what it was, only that if I didn’t do it, it would be really bad, so… can you repeat it?”
