When out on a hunting patrol, Moleclaw and Lionfang get caught under a falling tree. Lionfang gets crushed and dies while Moleclaw gets a mangled leg and is knocked unconscious. Froststar announces that she has had enough of the infighting. She assigns Cloudspring to take Sparrowlight and Perilstrike to search for Spiderflight. It was useless to confine Perilstrike to camp when there had been zero proof of him doing anything malicious. The tom was clearly passionate about finding his missing friend and since Sparrowlight was so against him, then should have no qualms about confirming the whereabouts of their missing clanmate as part of his investigation. Cloudspring reassures her that she would act as mediator for the two while they were away. In their absence, Lightningblaze becomes temporary deputy and mentor to Lightpaw.
