Wolfstar here. I've found a quiet place in a corner of an alley and curl up to rest.
How long am I alone? I awake to prodding. Two long and skinny brown cats, one with white on his face, are staring at me. "I'm Jock," says one. This is Howe. We remember you from before, from recruiting fighters. Doesn't look like it went too well."
"They had reinforcements, one of the clans, and even an eagle."
"An eagle?" says Howe, the one with white. "Leafclan. I used to belong there. Didn't like taking orders, so they ran me out. Jock was with one of the other clans."
"Thunderclan," says Jock. "I got into a fight with my apprentice. Trying to train her to fight, and she wasn't good enough, so I got too tough, wound up killing her. Got to admit, I liked the feel. Clan drove me out, said they'd kill me if they ever saw me again."
"Want to get even with them?" I say. "Find me enough cats here who want the clans driven out, and to take over the wilds where there is plenty of prey just for the taking, and no rules. If there are enough of us, we can attack all of the clans at once; they won't be able to help each other that way."
"That's a lot of cats. It'll take time to get that many fighters."
"If I have a place to rest, and something to eat, I can wait. When it happens, I'll direct the fight. There's one cat in Riverclan, a kit-sized warrior, multicolored. You leave him to me."
"Sure you can take him? You're not seeing too well."
"He won't see me coming. I get on his back, and he's dead, and that's all I want."
"He the one who did that to you?" asks Howe.
"No. That was another, but you can all handle him. Lots of kits in those clans; I hear they're good eating."
Howe and Jock look at each other. "Ah, we don't eat kits," Jock says.
"You will if you're hungry enough."
"We'll talk to the others. This place is quiet enough. You wait here, and we'll bring you some food."
I wait.

Sneezepelt here. I put down the kit I've been carrying. "This looks familiar. Smallflame mentioned it. This is where he found Nightsky and Cloudsky, plus kits. They made a camp in the hills. Thunderclan, your territory is toward the setting sun from there, but you have to cross another thunderpath."

Sandcloud here. "We can rest when we reach the hills. I'll send a runner ahead then to let Leafstar know we have visitors. We'll let you catch your breath for a short bit, and then see you to our territory safely. Come on. Cross when I say to, all of us together." Seconds pass while I listen; all's quiet. "Now!" And we all scamper across, safe on the other side. Now, to the hills.

Dawnfur here. I return to the clan, carrying a rabbit. "The others are still hunting," I tell Nightheart. "Saw something interesting, a group of cats moving in this general direction. There's a Riverclan cat with them. Guess who?"

Treekit here. I'm rolling around with Bushkit, Brushkit, Brightkit, and Goldenkit. We're all getting bigger, tougher, and stronger. Our moms are looking on, and I think they're smiling. Oops! Bushkit knocks me over. "Pay attention!" she says. "Trying to get Mom's attention? She's going to think you're being careless, letting another cat jump you because you weren't paying attention! You going to do that in a fight?"
"No," I say, hanging my head. The others have stopped and are looking on. "Sorry. Guess I'm just a dummy. Excuse me."
I leave to find a spot just outside the barrier to sit by myself. Mom's look hurt; she was scowling, not happy at all. Maybe I should just run away, leave the clans. I rest my head on my paws.

Dreamcloud here. Why did she look away and let her sister tackle her? Well, she is still a kit and hasn't actually had any training. Sometimes, they need a little bit of time to themselves after an embarrassment, so I understand her leaving. She won't go far. I'll check on her in a bit.

Silverback here. I see Treekit curled up, shaking as she lies away from everyone. I come over. "I hear you had a bad time." She looks up but says nothing. I settle down next to her. "I know how you feel. I never told anyone here about the most embarrassing thing that happened to me. It was when I was in Longclan, one of the Far Clans. I was an apprentice, and I wanted to crawl right out of my skin."
I have her attention; I see it in her wide eyes. She listens as I tell her about how I almost poisoned my clan. You Twolegs/Muggles don't need to hear it.

Treekit here. Silverback is a natural storyteller, and he acts out his story as he tells me. When he finishes, I can't help but laugh. Guess that's what he wanted from me because he rubs my face. We head back to the center of the camp. "I'll be okay now," I say. He nods and nudges me toward my littermates.

Dreamcloud here. I see my kit coming in with Silverback. Don't know what he said to her, but I see her run to her mates, and she seems very happy. In fact, I'd swear she's laughing as she pounces on Bushkit, and they tumble and play fight. I go over to him. "What did you do?"
