i love him. he's over hated. he was ruined on purpose by the writers for the sake of a "love triangle" drama. totally undeserved. i wish they'd stop ruining male characters to make other ones look better in comparison. if a character (tigerheart in this case) cant be "good" on his own without drgaging down the "other option" then maybe he wasnt good to begin with :\

Neutral leaning towards like. I don't harbor any particularly strong feelings towards Brumblestripe tbh.

To which yes, he absolutely asked at the wrong time, but Dovewing firmly said no and he never asked her about it again, respected her rejection and never pressured her after. There’s a massive difference between malicious manipulation and a cat speaking out of emotions and not being able to read the room who does back off when corrected. But everyone will assume Bumblestripe has some evil plan to manipulate Dovewing when honestly he was just asking a question at the wrong time.

Yeah, I agree it was a bad time to say anything, but he still never was given a single reason as to why he was dumped like trash. To me, it seemed like he wanted to give their relationship another try, seeing as it was very obviously not a mutual breakup and he wasn’t even given a reason for it. Nobody seems to demonize Squirrelflight for having the exact same thoughts and having clearly asked Bramblestar for kits at a really bad time, it seems like the exact same thing. A desire to bring fulfillment in their lives through the possibility of a future family. Is Squirrelflight evil for having these fears? Nobody’s saying Bumblestripe was right in this scenario. But he is not some manipulative monster who has some kind of evil plan to force Dovewing into loving him like so many people seem to think.

It’s okay to not excuse Bumblestripe asking an ignorant but not malicious intending question at a bad time while also recognizing Dovewing is kind of an ass who dragged him along and never explained why she cut it off either. It’s also okay if some people don’t think Bumblestripe is the spawn of satan either lol.

Yeah, I really don't think he's manipulative either, even when starting out, it was Whitewing and Rosepetal pressuring Dovewing to date Bumblestripe, and it never even mentioned that, yet, some people still think that he pressured two warriors older than him, to have them pressure Dovewing to date him, even though it's never even said or hinted at that, I feel like sometimes this is read too much into, kind of like how people think Graystripe is a bad dad to his litter with Millie, because he's not really shown in their lives much.

Not a fan. Regardless of how Dovewing treated him or if she explained why they broke up or not, what he did was still highly inappropriate, especially if she showed absolutely no interest in getting back together anyway. If someone who I haven't been with in a long time asked to get back together with me and have my children and then tells me that they want me to think about it even after I already said no—all at a funeral, no less!—I don't know, I'd probably want to avoid them, too.

Yuuup. Though people tend to think their headcanons for a cat are canon so it’s just tiring in general because they’ll preach it like it’s so. Constructive conversations of characters get hard when they’re so overly demonized to the point of it not even being the canon character we’re talking about, but a headcanoned version of them. But then again he’s a tom anyways and they’re always demonized nasty villain cats in this fandom lol

Some of these posts reminded me that Bumblestripe is more than just some dude who was nice to his sister Briarlight and a love interest for Dovewing. He's actually very caring, like, we already see him be caring with Briarlight, but when Dovewing lost her powers, he helped her out in the tunnels when she was trying to get her powers back or something? But he also expressed concern for her to Bramblestar. I might change my vote from neutral to like.

And also how he was even supportive of Dovewing’s choice to be with Tigerheart and have his kits and went right back to being a dutiful Warrior to Thunderclan.

I may not like Bumblestripe, but this is the part that I don't get, either. It's not like Bumblestripe was really trying to hide his crush on her. Blossomfall was the first to tease Dovewing about it iirc, Cinderheart likely didn't want to see another cat pass up on the chance of a potentially happy life, Rosepetal was friends with both of them and only really got involved when she thought Dovewing was being too harsh, Whitewing is Dovewing's mother, so of course she'd try to get involved in her daughter's love life, and Ivypool was just glad to see her sister seemingly move on from Tigerheart. And as we know, the Clans love to gossip. I really doubt Bumblestripe had a paw in any of this other than making his feelings incredibly obvious to everyone except Dovewing, who had just broken up with Tigerheart and lost her powers at this point, on top on having nightmares. A new relationship would be the last thing on her mind, but of course, no one knew this. It makes sense why she didn't notice it at first.

I honestly don't remember that, but he's had quite a few apprentices, so he must be good at it lol. I also liked how he scolded Spotpaw, and there was a clue to his personality in canon, because they said he was usually a quiet and gentle warrior or something? So it was out of place for him, however, on the other side, this series says a character is one way, but they never show them that way in the canon. I like how he didn't make a big fuss about Dovewing x Tigerheart, yeah, he might have been angry when he first found out, but he wasn't the only one, and it might not have had anything to do with Dovewing being his ex, like, they spent time and resources searching for her, worrying about her, when it turns out, that she had run away and came back with kits from a cat who was from another clan. I would have been angry too honestly.

Yeah nah, he was literally as mad as any of the other Warriors for a cat who abandoned the clan waltzing back in with the leader of another clan and their kits like they own the place. Not everything is about him having past feelings for Dovewing, especially since he very clearly got over it without a fuss at all. I’d be pissed as hell at her audacity, former mate or not.

I really don't like how he's compared to Ashfur when they're not the same at all. The only thing they have in common is being two guys who were pushed aside for Tigerkin, but unlike Ashfur, Bumblestripe never even tried to kill anyone, and he didn't really make that much of a fuss about it either.
