People act as if he just killed a kitten or something just because he was being socially inept. He wasn't "hitting" on Dovewing as you so crudely put it. In context he was asking if Dovewing, his ex-wife, could consider retrying their relationship again because witnessing death made him ponder the fact that "life is too short". And quite literally prior to that Dovewing was pondering the idea of being with Bumblestripe again. He asked her to think about it, and actually wanted to have a proper conversation about their relationship at some point (something Dovewing is aware of but purposely avoids because she doesn't want to "break his heart") before leaving her to herself. He wasn't pressuring her, being sleezy, or attempting to force her into an ultimatum. My point still stands. The fandom villainizes him and he's overhated for the dumbest reasons, when in comparison we never hear as much bustle about how crappy Dovewing treated him, the irony. it’s true dovewing’s an evil women for not being a flat character and bumblestripe is just a poor little meow meow who did nothing wrong, the warriors cats fandom just hates men and misandry is real /s dude not true at all, people just don't like bumblestripe because he's inappropriate. wtf man

Bumblestripe's fine, I guess. A lot of people overlook that he ratted out Squirrelflight and expected to be deputized for it, that's IMO far more of a problematic move than lacking social grace with Dovewing. I have seen some absolutely contrived conspiracy theories thrown up for the latter, including that he told Whitewing to suggest him as a possible mate as though he's some 4D Chess Player or something.

Wait, what did he rat out Squirrelflight for? I don't remember that. Was it when she faked her death? I guess there is more to his character than I remember.

He was spying on her and reported that she was trying to convince SkyClan to rebel against the impostor and then she was exiled. No one in ThunderClan save for Bristlefrost actually knew she was still alive, hence why Ashfur fell into a state of depression when she faked her death.

For the most part, TBC seems a bit like a blur lol. Though, honestly, I could say the same for pretty much every arc.

Squirrelflight gets exiled afterwards, and Bumblestripe (along with Berrynose) immediately makes a bid for deputy. Needless to say, I didn't like Bumblestripe here, either.

𝓣𝓲𝓷𝓾𝓿𝓲𝓮𝓵Thanks. I'm not sure how to feel about the situation, on one hand, I don't like how callous and uncaring he's being, on the other hand, he's just taking orders from who he believes is his leader. It doesn't make it right, but that was what he was born and raised on, that the leader's word matters above everything else. However, with how quickly he jumped for the chance to be deputy it reminds me of that sleazeball Percy from that movie The Green Mile or something, though, I doubt Bumblestripe could ever be as bad as him.
