They ate quickly, and before long lunch was over and they were off to their next class.
Like all the rooms at Dragon Academy, the classroom they entered was large, with a wall of bay windows. Unlike the other classrooms they'd been to, this one didn't have desks, but rather seven round tables. Each table had four chairs set around it, and four wyvern perches between the chairs. Mrs. Kimberly stood behind a desk at the front of the room.
As students and wyverns began filing in, she told them, "Find your team and pick a table. Whichever one you pick will be your team table for the whole year."
Trey didn't see Elizabeth or Remi yet, so he took it upon himself to pick an empty table by the windows. He sat down in a chair and studied the nearest perch. It had four levels, each one slightly higher than the next like a ladder so the baby wyverns could easily climb up. The lowest rung was lower than the chair seat, while the highest was about shoulder-height when standing.
Atom climbed onto the first rung, and then into Trey’s lap, where he settled in to continue his nap.

It appeared that the boys had made it to class before the girls. Or that's what Austin was believing. As they entered the classroom, he scanned the sea of faces, but saw neither one of them. Even though they could have just been doing something to keep them out of sight, he liked to think they had gotten there first.
He followed Trey to the table by the window, and didn't try stopping Notus as he flung himself to the ground. Only to climb up to the very top of the perch a few seconds later. Austin hoped the other wyverns of their team didn't want to be the one to "lord" over the rest. Otherwise, they might a have a scuffle on their hands. But that was a problem for later.
Austin took his seat, keeping one eye on Notus (and making sure he wasn't about to cannonball onto him). He was just getting his books laid out when Elizabeth joined them.
"There you two are," Elizabeth greeted. She had Nerida in her arms, who look content to stay there. However, the water wyvern had to settle for the table as her Rider needed to get her own things set in order.
"Have you seen Remi?" Austin asked.
"Not since Geography," Elizabeth answered. "I think she went to find a quieter section of the cafeteria to eat, and I haven't seen her since. She should be here soon, though."

"Has anyone got any suggestions for the name for the team?" Elizabeth asked. Truth be told, it had slipped her mind. Not because she wasn't aware that it needed to be done, but because she wasn't sure how their little ragtag team was going to be. Team names weren't often changed, so finding the right one the first time around was important.
"Okay, so hear me out," Austin started, his face brightening with a grin, "most of these will be bad. I will acknowledge that now, but I've been brainstorming last night, and here are some of the things I've come up with. Let me know what sounds like potential. Alright, first off: Imperial Alliance. Now, I know we don't have an 'empire', but how cool does it sound? Next up: Elemental Ascendants. Anyone? No? Okay, then, how about, Wyvern Wanderers? The Basilisk's Bane? Skyward Protectors?"

The three of them went back and forth for several more minutes, making up new names or trying different word combinations with the names that had already been suggested. Throughout it all, Trey remained silent. Like Remi, he had pulled out a notebook and had spent most of the last couple of minutes scribbling in it, trying to put the idea in his mind into something viable. Finally, with only two minutes left, he found what he was looking for.
"What about," he said slowly, interrupting the discussion, "The Remnants?"
