Pearl's Plot House ~ Open

Caley nods in understanding. He felt he’s changed a lot, and although he doesn’t have that possessive streak towards Yuda anymore, he feels that he still cares a great deal for his friend. “How are Citra and Vikal?” He asks. “I haven’t seen them in years. What are they up to? And how about you? My parents said yours wanted us to have an arranged marriage because you were in your rebellious phase still... of course, it’s not like they would disagree with the arranged marriage since it does them some good with the conditions your parents brought forth.”

Caley smiles, feeling happy for Citra. That smile nearly turned into a laugh, as he noticed Yuda avoiding some of his questions. "You know how our parents used to come together for some big projects when we were younger? And then they made even more money off it? Well, your parents have this enormous project. Much bigger than any they've had before, but they don't have enough money to fund it themselves. Shocking right? With the billions they have, they still don't have enough capital. I have no idea what the project is about, but my parents told me that they will put in half the total amount with your parents adding the remaining half, and then when it's successful, they'll rake in at least four times the amount they put into it. Of course the money will be split 50-50 between the two families."

Caley nods. He was the second son; the spare child. As long as he didn't ruin the family name, he could do anything he wanted. But that also meant they didn't care that much for him. If anything, he was no better than a tool for them. They already have a prodigal first son. He was only good for marrying out. Of course, when he first came out about being gay, they were full of disdain. They looked at him as if he were a bug, because they didn't know what to do with him anymore. All their plans went down the drain. But then, Yuda's parents came to them about an arranged marriage, and they felt like they were flying once more. Their son landed them a great project, just by being gay. "Maybe it is, or maybe it isn't," Caley sighs. "I honestly think it's something dangerous and illegal. Nothing legal provides that much money. I mean, they need to put in billions. If anything goes wrong, they'd have to liquidate all their assets just to make up for it. But then again, it's not like I care for them enough to get them to stop. They've been trying to use me as a pawn for a while now, and it's not until this arranged marriage that they finally got what they wanted."

Caley laughs. "I'd be just as glad to see mine hauled off. I've had enough of their antics, trying to stick their fingers into every aspect of my life. As it is, even if they are gone, I still have enough money to last a very long time." Caley's grin remains, his eyes shining in pure happiness at the fact he could laugh and joke with his old friend. "Making good on that promise the same day as the trial, then sending our parents off to jail would be amazingly funny. I'd love to see the looks on their faces."

"I honestly don't care about the media anymore, and anyway, why the hell should the media dictate what I do. In any case, spreading the word to the rest of the world would be a good idea. That way, our parents would see just how much their reputations go down the drain as we rise up from the mess they make to live a full and happy life. I've dreamed of a time when my parents lose their reputation so much, I can vividly imagine it now. Besides, with you by my side, we'd have a blast, no matter where we go and do." He nudges Yuda with his elbow. "We should probably go see your parents. I'm sure they're really eager to move on with their plans."

Caley follows Yuda, finding him incredibly cute. He smiles happily at Yuda's question, happy Yuda wanted to know more about him. "I actually completed a few degrees. I completed a double degree in Justice and Psychology, as well as a degree in Business, majoring in Economics. My parents were pushing me to do Business, but I wanted to complete the Justice and Psych double degree, so I did all three."

"Mum and Dad wanted me to take Business so I wouldn't sully the Potter name, but I've always wanted to become a criminal investigator. Isn't it cool being able to lock up all the idiots of the world that break the laws? And anyway, you know like those crime shows. Even though it's not like that in the real world, I'd be licenced to carry a gun, and I get to put away criminals. With my Business degree, I can just rake in the money from the stock market. It was a lot to take on, but I honestly had a good time with my subjects. The Business degree is supposed to be a 3 year degree, while the Justice and Psych double degree is 4 years. I started at 18, and completed them all at roughly at the same time."

"The investigation part of the job is just as fun. And I don't mind being a witness in front of court, and although paperwork is boring, not everything about a job is meant to be enjoyable. I was able to get work placement during my final year. And honestly, I'm just going with the flow. I like it. I enjoy it, so I do it. Not everything comes out right in a plan, so I don't bother planning anymore. What about you though? Do you have any plans? What degree are you getting?"

"What do you want to do, Yuda?" Caley asks softly. "You chose an easy to complete degree, but what do you want to do for the rest of your life. I know I'm going to try my hardest to get far away from my parents so they can't use me anymore, but what about you?"

Caley grins. “I’m sure you’d be perfect as a teacher. Your sweet and caring.” He rubs Yuda’s head gently, liking the feeling of the young man’s hair slipping through his fingertips. He takes his hand away, still feeling the warmth. “It’s a good idea.”

“Thought or not, it’s your true feelings,” Caley calls out gently, as he follows Yuda. He notices the blush, and feels incredibly happy. “...and anyway, I don’t think of you as a child. I just really wanted to touch your hair. It was quite soft too. Very silky...” Caley mutters.

“Hey, we’re going to be getting married. I’ll help you get that degree,” he says warmly, just before entering. He then calls out to Yuda’s father in a loud voice. “Uncle Bimo! I’m back! How have you been? You’re getting on in your old age, so you have to be more careful with your emotions. We wouldn’t want you to suddenly collapse from anger.” Caley acts in a chipper manner.

Bimo gave a small glare s he rose, offering his hand to Caley in greeting. "I have been fine. And for the record 55 is not old. So you shouldn't have to worry about me suddenly collapsing," he said. "How about yourself? Happy to be home finally?" It had been a while since he had seen Caley, the boy certainly has grown. "I trust you got here alright?"
