What's the world like? Modern fantasy or ancient/medieval fantasy?

I once entered a private roleplay with someone I hadn't really 'matched' with and we had to stop early because it had gotten dry ^^" )

( As for me, I like dynamic characters who move the plot, however if the story allows, it can also move them! I like to inject a lot of humor into my writing to offset the fact that I like to put my kids through the wringer, haha~ I'm just as avid in poorly written fight choreography and combat in general! Also, as you can tell, I tend to be very verbose. (Probably because I didn't have work today-) I don't have the patience for slice of life, at least not for long. If I can't find ways to keep things interesting I stagnate and can't write. I'm not good at world-building but I love general planning~ It being that you're apparently vetting other writers, you're of course free to look over my 'previous works'. I'm not too familiar with yours, though! )

( I only have general ideas for my boys so far: they seem like the typical polar opposites but they're equally self-absorbed. One represents Anubis' role as a guardian and the other is more closely tied to decay and embalming.

Sutekh has been given the role of 'guardianship' despite how capricious and flighty he is. Still, he's a perfectionist and very competitive, so he strives very hard...to seem like he isn't doing anything. He doesn't want to look like he's trying but he still wants to be the absolute best! Sutekh is naturally outgoing but generally uninterested in others unless given a reason to be otherwise. Still, he loves the sound of his own voice and has a habit of running color commentary or narrating situations for his own amusement. It doesn't help that he's so intuitive and attuned to others' emotions...In fact, when he wants to 'play' Su favors manipulating others. Those he likes, however, are met with unrelenting sunshine, praise, compassion, and encouragement. While mischievous when the situation allows, Sutekh is otherwise straightforward with an extreme case of tunnel vision. He's only here to protect his brother and do whatever his job requires of him. With style. Nothing less.

Sekhen, by contrast, has an entirely different brand of tunnel vision: He's primarily focused on himself. A childhood that drastically differs from his twin's has resulted in Sekhen's drive to live through whatever means necessary. He's afraid of death despite how closely he works with it- he can't die yet. He has so much to atone for...While Sekhen is as stagnant as his brother is dynamic, he's actually the one who forces himself to interact with others the most. He doesn't like it and he's terrible at it, but he feels the need to do any good he can- but only when presented with the option. He's near chronically slothful and can barely muster the energy to save himself from his own self-inflicted torment. Sekhen is otherwise unflappable and highly adaptable- he doesn't even bother to plan, he simply responds instinctively to whatever befalls him with a 'this might as well happen' mindset.

And this is just the general stuff! I'll add a bit more if we get to making forms ^^ )

okay! hers mine:
Yuda Crucial, is the middle child of five children. He has short blonde hair with white tips, he has grey eyes, his hair as a messy look, but at least makes it look presentable. He rarely seems to smile, and when he does it often seems forced. Yuda used to do well in school, but after the death of his younger sister is when he started acting out. He skipped lectures and rarely turned in his assignments. He often stays in his dorm when he skips to read, one of the things he enjoys doing still. He wanted to drop out all together but his parents prevented him from being able to. He has black rimmed glasses. He prefers darker colored clothing, preferring to wear a dark red t-shirt with a black hoodie. But when he needs to keep an appearance for his family he wears a dark green button up shirt with a black tie. Out of spite of his parents he had gotten his ears pierced. He has a habit of smoking when he is stressed.

Caley walks up to the enormous mansion, pausing at the front door. It's not his first time coming, but it had been a long time. It's been 10 years since he went overseas. It's been 10 years since he's last seen his childhood friend. And now, at the age of 23, he's returned. But he's heard the rumours about his childhood friend. The boy who changed 7 years ago, after his sister died. And it's 7 years ago that he lost contact with Yuda. While he doesn't know how Yuda is, or whether he still remembers him, Caley hopes Yuda doesn't end up hating him, especially since he's come back for an arranged marriage; and arranged marriage with Yuda. Please don't be mad, he prays. He closes his eyes, takes a deep breath, and rings the doorbell. I'm back, Yuda. I'm here for you now.

Seeing Yuda made Caley feel nostalgic. They both had changed from their prepubescent years, but for some reason, Caley could still see the little boy in him. "Hello, Yuda," he says softly as he enters the house. "It's been 10 years since we last met. How have you been? I tried to contact you after Fitri died, but I could never get through. I wish I could've been there for you." Concern shone within his baby blue eyes, as he looks Yuda up and down.

(I wasn't sure what name you decided for the sister, so I just winged it. Since Yuda is an Indonesian name, I chose another one for his sister: Fitri meaning purity.)

(That's fine. I was actually thinking I should go to bed soon... It's 2.50am where I am, and the only reason why I'm awake is because I've been sick with the flu these past few days, and I'm not tired because I've slept too much during those past few days...)

(I don't know what country they're in, so I'd say between England, the USA and Australia. You can pick one, and I'll pick one of the remaining two for the country ^^)

Caley frowns. "You don't have my pity. Don't forget, I knew Fitri too. I also thought of her as my younger sister. When I heard she died, I was devastated." He runs a hand through his hair, messing it up even further, but it ended up making him look cuter than he did before. Caley was feeling frustrated. Was Yuda not out of his rebellious phase yet? He gives Yuda a rather complicated look. "All three of us were close, but I dealt with it, and I moved on because I had to. I wanted to so I could come back. I was hoping I would be able to reminisce with you about Fitri and our days back then, and what kind of young lady she would've grown up to be..." He sighs. "I went to England/Australia/ the USA. Just finished my Bachelor degree when your parents called mine about arranging a marriage between the both of us."

(I know, and to top it all off, it was my birthday yesterday...or today depending on where you are... (2 March). It's the first time I've been sick on my birthday, so it wasn't a pleasant experience...)

(Ok. Then Caley ended up going to Australia.)

"Because of the promises we made to each other when we were thirteen, just before I left. We promised to go travelling together, just the three of us... To visit every country in the world, no matter how small. I didn't even know what happened to Fitri. My parents never told me how exactly she died, so I was left with a huge hole and nothing to fill it with. I still have that hole, just wondering how it was she died, but since I couldn't contact you, I had to put my head down, and study my ass off just to be able to come and visit you... I tried to travel by myself the second I reached 18, but my parents caught me again and told me they'd put me under house arrest until I've completed a Bachelor degree worthy of the Potter name because they didn't want a son that was unable to get a job from his lack of credentials..." Caley pauses mid-ramble. He hesitates for a second, blushing ever so slightly. "Plus..." he begins to mumble. "We also promised that we'd marry each other if we weren't in a relationship by the time we hit 23..."
