Big fluffy dogs make me swoon. I live by the rule of thumb that the bigger the dog the better. Especially Great Danes - although they are not fluffy- they are so charming and silly.}}

“You’re mine too.” Charlize repeats. A blush blossomed on her cheeks as she felt a surge of shyness. They had just confessed to each other before their worlds went into the blender. She was still new to the feeling of love in her heart.
Then came the passion and confidence that Cody exuberated but Charli wasn't sure how to emanate his ideas. "Live for ourselves?" She mused over the idea. It sounded quite selfish, but she had already been that way. Doing the things she wanted to do, leaving heaven, starting a new life, and falling in love. Would a little more hurt?Charlize convinced herself that she was still servicing others. Ever since she had come to earth as a human and found Cody, she had done everything for him. Even came to this college, without a clue of what she might do with her human life. To her, it didn’t matter as long as Cody was happy.
The people-pleasing part of herself curdled at the thought of fighting for something that she wanted though. It had taken 200 years to gather enough courage to leave Heaven without warning. But she didn’t regret it. “O-okay.” A small smile tugged at her lips at the prospect. Maybe she was getting into something she could never return from, but it felt exciting and fresh. “Because I hate the thought of losing you. I can’t live my life like that.” Charli returned Cody’s gaze.
“There’s just one thing I don’t understand.” Charli releases a hand from his grasp and brushes a few strands of his now dark hair off of his forehead. “You are nothing like I would’ve expected. How come you aren’t like other demons?”

Cody nods. "Live for ourselves. It may seem selfish, but living for yourself is more than that. Being true to yourself is doing things that mean something to you, like being with the one you love, donating when you can, helping when you can. As long as you stay true to your own values and beliefs, you're not truly selfish, you're truly helping others too. If all you do is helping, and not doing the things that make you feel truly happy, that's hypocrisy, because your heart won't truly be in the deed."
Cody could understand how Charli was feeling. He's been with her for so long, he truly did know her. With Charli's question, comes a feeling of happiness. She wanted to know more about him, and he was happy to oblige.
"Although I'm a demon, I'm still the child of a fallen angel. On top of that, all children are born pure, and so I was born a demon with a pure soul. All of my life, I'd been influenced by demons, but I've also been able to talk to the people who ended up in Hell. A lot of them are murderers and rapists, I agree, but there are some who were there due to circumstances they couldn't control, like a woman who killed her husband due to him nearly beating her to death, or a young teenager who had to steal to feed his siblings because they were too poor to buy anything. Those people still had values, and so I learned from them too, and I was able to form my own ideals and values that weren't as influenced by the demons surrounding me." |

“That is a very fine line to walk,” Charli spoke skeptically “Being so close to your indulgences.” Her contemplation on the matter was thorough but brief. “For example, sometimes I wonder if being with the one I love would entice me to make the least smart decision. Like agreeing to live my life as I want to just because I have the urge to do anything for you. Or to be with you.” Charli knew she ran the risk of being misunderstood with her explanation. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to be with Cody but that Cody made her forget the risks of her choices which could easily become selfish.
Cody’s explanation of his life made mud become water. “It’s so funny when you hear a story about someone and it’s like things start to make so much sense.” She mused at his personal explanation. “You say that I am your light, but I think that you are quite radiant as well. You find good in people even in the darkest realms.” It was surprising to her to find that in their true forms, her love only grew. Other angels could argue with her that all demons were heinous, only Charli had fallen for a truly exquisite one. And he was better than any other sacred soul in heaven.

Even medicine can kill you, just like poison can save you. It's just how you view it. I want to know. If we were separated, would you be motivated to do your duties as the princess of Heaven? Would you, with all your heart and soul want to do as required? I know there will be some things that you would genuinely want to do, but not everything will be like that."
"Because nothing is ever set in stone. I give everyone I meet the benefit of the doubt, and I will always give them two chances. If they use up those chances, that's when I give up on them and remove them from my life. That's why I try to see the good in others before judging them. It's not wrong to judge someone, but it's wrong to judge them without getting to know them first." |

Sorry for taking so long on the response. I wasn't feeling creative for a bit so I took a little break and started some new projects for inspiration, but I'm back now. }}
Charlize --
“Don’t ask me that question.” Casting doubt on her integrity caused her to tighten her lips. Of course she would do her duties. That was her role. Even pondering that made her fearful, because deep down she knew her moral was not strong. She wouldn’t have left heaven if it was.
His perspective was ever so different than hers and maybe it was thanks to growing up in an over sheltered heaven or just simple naivety. Although she had seen and heard a lot, Charli was still a young angel. That perspective was something she cherished about him as a human and it carried on now. Where Charli only saw black and white, Cody saw the gray.
A feeling of panic fluttered in her heart. The people who raised her here had taught her to never run from responsibility. Now she was cowered in this too small of a shelter that used to be home. “This isn’t right. What are we doing here Cody?” An urgency was building within her, a want to go back to her real home and hope that it wasn’t too late. When Charli stood back up from her spot on the floor, things were clattered to the ground from her expansive wings.
“Well, I hope I still have a chance left, because I can’t take this one. As much fondness that I have for you, you make me want to do things. Things I should never do. And something bad is going to happen.” Honey brown eyes glanced between them “Something bad has happened.” She gestured towards their states. Her tone was a forced softness. Turmoil was bubbling but she put on her best face against the calamity. She didn’t want to startle Cody with what she was saying nor did she know how he was going to react. “You’re right. If I go back, my heart stays with you. But it’s not up to me and running isn’t the right choice here.”
She wasn’t playing human anymore and whatever had happened, she had the power to make it right. "We should go back." The last comment was a whisper, her eyes glued to the ground. She wasn't much of a fighter anyways, it would be easier to forfeit than outlast a war she could feel was brewing. Selfishly standing by and watching the world burn was not an option.
