((churning stuff out slow and steady))
Birdscreech Bluffclan || open Birdscreech stirred awake in an unfamiliar den. Familiar scent, yes, of herbs and drying leaves, but the angles were off, and there was the hovering scent of HeathClan cats.
Ah yes.
That’s right.
Bluffclan’s camp has been destroyed.
Birdscreech rested his head on top of his paws, his head slowly clearing through the fog. His mild concussion has cleared up, for the time being, and although his head still hurt he could think more clearly. Well, relatively.
As he lay there, curled up in a nest not his own, the felt the weight of grief hit all at once. Everything was gone. His herbs. His den. His home. Moons of work, gone to waste. Well-trodden paths and spots lovingly rested in, fallen to pieces under the twoleg monsters’ paws. The more Birdscreech dwelled on the memories, and the thought that he could never build such memories again, the more his throat squeeze and crumpled up. He curled up tighter in his nest and buried his nose under his tail, if only to stifle the pain-filled hiccups that were starting to unfurl in his chest. All alone, he permitted himself to fall apart.
At some point, he lifted his head, sniffing hard. As he rose, he could feel his bones crack and creak. He was so old, wasn’t he? Isn’t death etched so soon in his woven fate? No, no, of course not! He’s been working on an immortality elixir, after all! Well, his previous efforts have been smashed to pieces, but the ingredients and the process were still alive and well in his mind, he’ll just have to manifest them into reality once more, at their new home! He was bound to Bluffclan from birth, after all - he was going to live with them forever!
With that, Birdscreech pushed himself to his paws, and with a loud snort and a cough, walked on out of the den.

((oh im so glad x3 i love u birdscreech, ur tragic inevitable end will probably bring me to tears the fact that owlfrost talks just like a shakespeare-inspired theater kid is giving me life))
— - 🌊 - — Blazingsky Bluffclan || with Owlfrost “Of course we’ll leave behind the deadliness!” Blazingsky boomed from behind Owlfrost, padding up to shoulder-bump the slender warrior. “The twolegs and their nasty machines will lie far behind us! Besides, with the two of us, Bluffclan has nothing to fear, isn’t that right my good friend?”
He posed like the powerful warrior he felt. To be fair, he was pretty well-rested, despite everything! He had been planning to fearlessly guard his kin all night, of course, but the moment he set a paw into a pile of soft moss, the bulky warrior had been out like a light.
“… So what now?” he said after awkwardly posing for too long. “Shall we hunt? Are we leaving right away?” He glanced over at where the leaders and deputies were huddled, then to where HeathClan warriors were starting to gather. “Are we to mingle with our newly-found brethren in this quest to find our new home?”

Shadepelt Tom | Warrior | 24 moons HeathClan Camp | Eaglecry (♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥)
Shadepelt was distracted by his thoughts of what he could catch, if anything, to the point where he didn't even notice a HeathClan warrior had approached him until he cleared his throat. Eyes widening, he slowly turned his head toward the cat, and upon seeing him, nearly jumped out of his fur. Trying quickly to hide his surprised and frightened expression, likely to no avail, he regained his composure and paused for a second as he wondered why this cat had approached him. Thinking to the not-so-distant past, he recalled a few words the warrior said and then let out a sheepish laugh, saying, "Yeah, sure, that sounds like a good idea. They'll need it considering they'll be one of the ones that have it the hardest on this journey." There was a brief pause after these words, in which Shadepelt gulped audibly. Hopefully he hadn't said anything too obvious. "I guess we should head out then," he added, and with that, he began to pad out of camp. Out of the corner of his eye, he watched Jackdawstar and Silentstar's conversation that was happening not far from where the duo were walking. He couldn't make out any words, and decided he'd better focus on his task; he didn't want to get caught trying to spy on a conversation between leaders. Scanning the unfamiliar area around him, he realized that the HeathClan warrior accompanying him ought to be the one to take the lead. Coming to a stop he said, "If you would point out any good areas to hunt, I'd appreciate it."

Moonpaw Molly ; Apprentice ; 10 Moons
While Moonpaw had been forced to hunt most of the day, the little apprentice had wondered off towards the evening hours to help Galewhistle in any way the medicine cat needed. While most of the helping had been walking with her, carrying herbs for injured warriors, or bringing water soaked moss, there had been a moment where the two had slipped away to gather what herbs they could for the dawn hours. It was very late in the night, when Galewhistle had insisted that she curl up with her sister and get some rest. The journey would be a long one for everyone.
Now, the little tan and brown bengal molly was resting in her nest, though her eyes were wide open. She had watched the leaders meet together, as well as Wolfstorm. Soon after, Galewhistle followed suit, only for Jackdawstar to storm off and an apologetic Silentstar following the dark furred tom. But it was the stirring at the medicine cats den that caught her eye. Tilting her head, her gray eyes locked on the elderly medicine cat of Bluffclan. Something about the bee-brained tom fascinated the little apprentice. So much so, that she got to her paws and slipped up to the large fluffy gray tom.
For a moment, she just stared at him, her gray eyes wide and curious, before she dipped her head in a greeting. "Hello, Birdscreech. I know you only met me for a moment, but do you remember me.?" While she was just a little apprentice from the opposite clan of the elderly tom, something in her, pulled her to get the wise and slightly crazy medicine cats attention. As if the stars herself were trodding her paws towards the Bluffclan tom. She herself, couldn't even explain it.
•❅──────✧❅✦❅✧──────❅•
Spiderwatcher Molly ; Warrior ; 40 Moons
Slipping into camp after Foxtumble, Spiderwatcher flashed a glance towards where her brother and Silentstar were talking. Surprise rippled through her flank to see them so close to the camp entrance. Was it time to leave already.? Turning her yellow eyes to look around, she passed Eaglecry and Shadepelt as they left the camp, dipping her head in a quick greeting. Hopefully they would be quick, so no one would leave without them. Foxtumble had immediately went to the nursery, The plump rabbit clamped tightly in his jaws. While Spiderwatcher had chased the large creature into his paws, the tom had given the death blow. She thought it was only respectful to let him take it to the queens to share. She herself, had a robin in her jaws. It wasn't huge, but enough for Galewhistle and Birdscreech to share.
Slipping up to the Medicine cat, she set in gently at the molly's paws, eyes softening. "Good morning, Galewhistle. I noticed you hadn't taken any prey last night. So I think it's only fair that you eat this before we head out. I'm sure Birdscreech would appreciate you sharing it." With that, the slender black molly turned and padded away. Around her, the clans were waking and moving around the clearing. Some were still in their nests, while others sparked conversations with their clanmates or their newest denmates. She herself, spotted a familiar dark charcoal-gray tom, sitting near the warriors den.
Approaching the tom slowly, she flicked her ears in a quiet greeting, before sitting next to the tom. While he had been one of the ones to voice his angry opinions, she knew that her taking charge and ordering him around, had caused some tension. After a moment of silence, she turned wide yellow eyes on the deeply loyal warrior. "Hey, Stormchill. Look..I..just wanted to apologize for yesterday. I think everyone is a little tired and scared, and it's making tensions high. I just want you to know, I was just trying to make the situation less stressful for the leaders and deputies. They were busy, and there was so much going on." She sighed and shook her head. Even trying to calm the situation in camp, two warriors had already gotten into a scuffle.
It made her anxious about the journey ahead. How many more times would the two clans lash out at each other. Could they truly work together.? "I'm one of the ones that will be scouting around the group. Keeping to the edges. Wildpaw will be with me. Did Shadowpuddle and Jackdawstar give you any duties yet.?" Almost everyone had been given some sort of duty. Some with the elders. Some with the queens and kits. Some with the medicine cats. While others would scout around the group, make sure no one strayed off or got left behind. Others were meant to stick behind and in front of the three groups of weaker clanmates. Protection would be on all sides. •❅──────✧❅✦❅✧──────❅•

Honeyshade Healthclan || with Harestep Honeyshade nearly burst out in sarcastic laughter at the question. She reeled it in and simply shook her head somberly. “I wish I could say I did,” she said with a soft sigh, despite wanting to groan and rant about her absolutely terrible night. The blink of sorrow in Harestep’s eyes had given her pause, and a touch of sympathy touched Honeyshade’s heart. It was hard. Leaving home. Suddenly every action had a sense of finality to it, a sense that she would never be able to do it again. There was a desperate need to make everything special, somehow.
She flicked a friendly tail at Harestep’s shoulder. “I can’t believe you fell asleep out here you goof, isn’t it freezing?” she teased, trying to keep the conversation light-hearted. She tilted her head towards the camp entrance. “You want to warm up the ol’ bones and take a gander at the territory one last time before we head out? We don’t have to go far, just outside camp in case cats head out soon. To be honest, I just want to see the sun kiss the moor one more time.”

The sound of paw steps behind him made the tom want to shrink into the earth because he knew exactly what the cat was going to say. He stared at his black paws as Silentstar's scent wafted into his nostrils, her silver tabby form settled in his peripheral. In the moments silence he felt his shoulders sag but he lifted his head in time for his clouded yellow eyes to meet hers. The serious clarity in her eyes and in her voice eased him. He ducked his head, his ears flattened with embarrassment, "You're right," he murmured, but he knew that. He would have to apologize when he had a chance. Silentstar continued and once more he met her eyes. How can I be so selfish to think I was alone in the decision? Here she sat - leader of her own clan - so wise, yet he'd allowed the stress to crumble around him. Nodding slightly to show he was listening, he let his gaze flitter back down.
Silentstar's tail pulled his gaze back up and he looked at the clan, admiring the warriors who moved around, their bones jutted awkwardly from beneath their dull coats. Silentstar was right though, no one had argued when he announced they would be leaving. He felt her nose against his shoulder and looked back to her. Only unravel onto her? He finally offered a small smile and shook his head gently, "Thank you, Silentstar." His eyes glimmered with admiration for the BluffClan leader. "I will apologize to Galewhistle. I shouldn't have snapped like that, I know she's only trying to help." He let out a small sigh, "I think it's a big weight to have but that doesn't give me a reason to talk to her like that, you are in the same position too." He pushed himself to his paws again and turned to face her. "But rest assured I won't ever snap at you or anyone again, I promise."
He couldn't ignore the need to leave that he continued to feel. On the breeze, he caught a hint of Dovefur's scent again like he had earlier. Is she telling me to leave, too? He flicked his tail, "I know that Vixenshine is in no state to travel but I feel as though we have to leave. I don't know why... it isn't safe here." His voice was quiet and passionate, it flared in his eyes and exuded with every movement. "We can rest often for her, and the elders too, but if we can make it to the mountains by the tonight I might feel more at ease." His tone piqued at the end in a fashion that invited Silentstar's opinion.

Harestep - HeathClan - Honeyshade (willowflower )
The long-legged tom offered her a lopsided smile, ducking his head slightly, "Yes, I suppose it was rather cold last night." He admitted. Luckily, his long, thick fur had kept him plenty warm. "I was watching the stars and just thinking-" He cut off his words as he felt his pelt heat up. Every cat was surely feeling nostalgic now. Him spilling all of his doubts and sorrows and hopes and memories to any clanmate wasn't going to make leaving easier on him or them. It benefited no one and he refused to let himself be that cat. You know the one; always talking in dreamy tones about better times or what they wish could be. No, decidedly not. "Well, not thinking about how wet I would get, it appears." He finished his sentence in his usual good humor and soft tone. "...one more time..." Harestep was convinced it was the yellow she-cat's wording of that sentence that tugged him to his paws. "Thank you Honeyshade," He gave a soft purr, "I would very much like that." He gave a flick of his feathery tail and one final shake of his fur, hoping that if there was any dew he missed, it wouldn't land on his clanmate, at least.

Silentstar Molly ; Leader ; 70 Moons As she was speaking to the Heathclan leader, Silentstar became well aware of the two clans rising from their sleep. Many were awake and joining either their clanmates or their newest denmates in the dawn hours. Rustling in her ears caused her to turn her head for a moment in their conversation, eyes meeting the yellow gaze of Spiderwatcher. The molly's eyes were sharp with curiosity, though she said nothing and simply padded into the clearing. The black molly was carrying a robin, which she took straight to her medicine cat, who had worked tirelessly throughout the night to assure both Bluffclan and Heathclan was tended to.
Foxtumble had pushed ahead of her, a huge rabbit in his jaws as he pushed into the nursery. Warmth filled her heart at the sight of the two warriors, up so early to catch one last meal for the weaker members of the clan. Her ears swiveled back to overhear Eaglecry calling to her warrior Shadepelt to take a quick hunt to gather something for their elders. It was pleasing to see two warriors, both from opposite clans, working together to ensure the oldest and most respected members had some strength to get them started on the journey.
Her attention swiveled back to Jackdawstar as the black tom insisted that he wouldn't snap at anyone again. She didn't argue, only swept her tail against his side in an understanding gesture. It cleared her mind to know her words had given the tom some sort of comfort and reassurance in these trying times. His next words made her ears prick up even more and she tilted her head slightly as passion filled not only his gaze, but his voice as he insisted that they leave now. She nodded her head, warmed by his words about stopping frequently. They would need to. "I believe if we head out very soon, we can make it to the mountains before the sun sets. That includes stopping for short breaks. Maybe we can even find some more prey."
A serious look befell the molly again and she looked off into the distance. Her tan eyes clouded with thought and a soft shake of her head was the only given that she was still with the clans. "I do believe that we should pause at the base of the mountain's, if it gets too late. They are quite a distance from here, and I feel it would be too dangerous to start climbing the mountains near the night hours." She flattened her ears slightly, her tail-tip twitching. Her mind was falling towards her father, the oldest tom in both clans. He struggled to walk most days, had no tail for balance, was blind, and hard of hearing. "I pray to Starclan that we won't lose anyone on this journey, Jackdawstar. But you and I both know it's an impossible thing. I have a gut feeling, that this journey will cause us to lose some members of our clans." She paused as her voice started to break, trying to force herself to remain calm. Yet, when she spoke again, her soft voice shook. "I fear that Shadedspeck will be one of the first we lose. I don't know how he is going to make it over these mountains."

As more warriors started to push out of the warriors den, Mysticpaw grew hopeful that his mentor would be able to squeeze from where she rested. While he was impatient to be on the move, he couldn't help but worry that he would fail his clanmates in guiding the elders along. What if something happened to one of them.? Would he be to blame.? The anxiety that grew in the apprentices chest, was something that he wasn't use to. Yet it was something that had happened more frequently since the death of both his parents.
His mind traveled back to the day they had died. A group of warriors had gone out for a hunting patrol, yet not one of them had returned home. It was near the time the sun had set, that Jackdawstar had called a patrol together to go and look for his missing warriors. Mysticpaw flinched as he remembered the bodies carried in, bloody and wounded, lifeless. He was told that they were sure a twoleg monster had gotten ahold of each and every one of them. Four warriors, gone, just like that. It was only worse for Mysticpaw, as two of those warriors were his mother and father. He was now alone, with no blood in the clan. ❖ [Open-Mentions Mossystream(Ember34 ] ❖ [ Adventure Time! ] ❖ [Heathclan]

Upon approaching the Bluffclan tom, Eaglecry flattened his ears slightly as the tom practically jumped out of his own fur. His eyes wide and expression flashing with fright startled the Heathclan warrior. As Shadepelt gathered his composure, Eaglecry licked his black and orange fur quickly. As the tom spoke, Eaglecry couldn't help but give a little huff of laughter at his all too obvious words. But he dipped his head and nodded in agreement. It was true. The elders would need the strength more than anyone else in the clans.
As they passed the two leaders, Eagelcry's tail lashed slightly and he picked up his pace. It wasn't until they were out of the camp that the black furred warrior paused to allow him to take the lead. Trotting forwards, the orange and black specked warrior headed towards the open land. Veering to the right, he led the way towards the direction of the mountains. The land to the left of them and straight ahead, was being consumed by twolegs and their monsters. His fur prickled at how close they appeared. From where they stood, if you squinted, you could see the little grassy area. "We have this grassy area that hasn't been touched by twolegs. Maybe we can find something there. Even if it's a few mice."

The words being spoken overhead roused Sagetail from his sleep. Sleepily, he blinked open his pale green eyes and lifted his chin from his paws, "Leaving soon?" He began to stretch out his legs from his curled position. Much like everyone else he was unsure of the thought of leaving the camp, however, he wasn't blind. He could see the necessity to find a new home with prey. They couldn't survive much longer if their meals were mere mouthfuls of a rabbit every now and again. He couldn't remember the last time he felt full. "I hope we can leave soon, I want to show the apprentices how fast we can move," his voice laced with comic sarcasm. He glanced to his grey denmate and absently swept specks of moss she'd missed while grooming from her pelt with his bushy tabby tail, "Did you sleep well?" He wouldn't admit it outright to the independent elder but he was worried for her stiff and aching joints.
Rowanblaze glanced towards his spotted golden-brown tabby apprentice. As per usual after a cold night, she seemed flustered, and her fur fluffed against the wind. His green gaze softened at her approach and he shifted his mind from thinking of his swooning infatuation for Honeyshade and focused on being a stable mentor to his apprentice in the uncertain times. "Good morning Swiftpaw," he meowed with a purr. "I slept fine, what about you? I hope you're ready for a big day." He tried to turn the idea of the journey from being a scary ordeal to something more of an adventure. After all, when all is said and done, Swiftpaw would be part of the group of apprentices who would carry the legacy when all the older warriors were gone. With a paw, he brushed some mossy clumps from the molly's coat. "Maybe we can find a home where it isn't so cold, hm?" He added conversationally, smiling light-heartedly.
The usually crabby tom smirked to Gullfeather's sharp reply and he paused his grooming to glance at her from the corner of his vivid green eyes. Stonepelt was well aware of his clanmate's stubborn and opinionated personality, and sometimes they would butt heads due to their differing views. He wasn't one to hold a grudge, though. "Would you really just let me be oblivious?" He resumed his grooming over his soft belly fur, "What if I got left behind?" He finished up his wash and he stretched his legs. The grey tabby rolled onto his stomach and flicked his ears against a gush of wind that billowed through the camp. His nose crinkled in distaste, "Scratch that. I don't think I could get left behind, I can't wait to leave." He was accustomed to the strength of the wind of the headlands but the rocks and sparse bushland helped break the worst of it. On the moor, the wind was ruthless and it sliced through his pelt like an icy claw.
Brooksong felt his pelt burn with an intense sensation and she felt as though someone was staring suns into her pelt. Who else could it be then the tom who'd glared as she curled into her nest? Her ears flicked. Were they going to embark on this journey and have a valley-like rift between them? Why can't Rushingfire just work together like the rest of us? Leaving the snoring HeathClan tom and the warmth of Featherfall's sleeping side, Brooksong pushed herself to her paws and clambered over sleeping forms towards Rushingfire. She wasn't usually one for confrontation but she was certainly one for wanting peace. She stopped in front of the massive flame-coloured tom and gave him a motherly stare. "Are you going to sit there scowling all morning?" Her voice wasn't snarky or rude, instead it was restless. "Come on Rushingfire, we are representing BluffClan here. You don't have to like Foxpounce or anyone really but we have to work together." Her voice was soft as to not wake any sleeping clans around her.

Mossystream-Heathclan-Mysticpaw( ♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥) Mossystream managed to get out of the den finally. Shaking out her fur, before stretching. The den was at least warmer than it usually was with the extra bodies, but she did not like the overcrowded nature of it. She walked over to her apprentice. "Morning Mysticpaw, sorry to keep you waiting for so long," she greeted him. "How did you sleep?" She hoped that he had managed well, since the apprentices also had new den mates to be dealing with. "Are you ready for the journey?" She looked to the elder's den, she had heard they would be with the cats watching over the elders.

Gullfeather - BluffClan - Stonepelt ( aether )
"You being oblivious isn't anything new, but you getting left behind?" Gullfeather let out a purr, "That's a thought to keep me warm against this stupid wind." Even though her comment seemed harsh, there was no hostility in her meow. Of course she wouldn't want the tom left behind; she wouldn't want a single BluffClan cat left behind. But HeathClan? They were irrelevant to her. It's not that she would ever wish harm on any of the cats during a time of peace - let alone a time of trouble like this for both clans - but Gullfeather had never been very empathetic and what little empathy she could muster was reserved exclusively for her clan. Morality and the ambiguity therein aside, Stonepelt wasn't all that bad. He was opinionated and crabby which most cats found exhausting at times, but Gullfeather was not so easily tired by arguments and stubbornness. In fact, if she had nothing better to do - which, on occasion, she in fact did not - she could argue anyone about anything for any length of time until they declared her the victor. That rarely happened, most cats left before it got to that point, not seeing the debate worth it anymore. She was brought back to reality by the gray tom's comment about leaving. She nodded in agreement, looking away from the cats beginning to stir and mingle and directing her green gaze at her clanmate. "With as scrawny as the HeathClan cats are it's a wonder they don't just get blown away." She let out a mrrow of laughter at the mental picture.

Shadepelt Tom | Warrior | 24 moons HeathClan Camp | Eaglecry (♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥)
Shadepelt followed the HeathClan warrior's gaze as he pointed out a grassy area not far from nearby Twolegs and monsters. The black tom let out a slight shiver at how close they were to his temporary residence. Noting the hunting area's location, he put on a brave face and said, "Well, let's get going." His face grew more serious as he began to walk, and if anyone who knew him saw the look he had on, they'd know he was beginning to analyze the situation around them. "If we want to get there without getting our fur ripped off or stuffed in those cages, we need to look for an easy way to access that place." With a slight smirk he added, "Unless you don't have a problem trying to outwit Twolegs." He continued on without waiting for a response, his golden gaze determined. If he could help someone before the journey began, then he would put all his effort into doing so. Even though his own belly was empty and his bones jutted out (which were thankfully covered up by his thick fur), he took no notice and instead focused on getting food for the elders, who he was sure were feeling far worse than he was. Especially Shadedspeck, the poor tom. He had been around since Shadepelt was a kit, since his mother was a kit, and since her mother was a kit... And maybe even beyond that. The elder had seen far more than Shadepelt wondered if he'd ever see, and the black tom was sure that the aged cat had a lot of stories to tell, if someone was willing to listen. Maybe he could ask of one during the journey.
Speaking of, out of the corner of his eye, Shadepelt noticed the looming mountains a good distance away from the HeathClan camp, towering above it, seemingly daring him and any other foolish cats to try and cross it. He was sure it would be perilous and extremely tough on himself and others; and he was also sure it would only be the beginning. Gritting his teeth, now fully composed, he set his sights on the hunting area, taking his day one task at a time.

Tom ; Senior Warrior ; 68 Moons
Rushingfire ducked his head as Brooksong turned her head to meet his gaze. He forced himself to stare at his paws until the soft pawsteps and the warm scent of the molly filled his senses. Glancing up, a scowl formed on his face as she gave him a stern, motherly look. His ears grew warm as she confronted him about his scowling and behavior. She sounded so much like Silentstar. While he wanted to spit at the molly, he couldn't bring himself to lash out at her. She had always been nothing but friendly to him, to anyone. He couldn't be mad at her for that. After a moment, he met her green eyes, flickering his ears to show her he was listening to her. After a moment, a huff escaped him and he shook his head. "It's just ridiculous, Brooksong. We could have done this journey long ago. We should have gone straight to the mountains, escaped this nightmare. Not come here to join up with Heathclan." He let his orange eyes flicker around for a moment, before shaking his head once more. Shuffling his large paws, he changed the subject. "I'm suppose to scout around the group. Graypebble Molly ; Elder ; 76 Moons
As her denmate uncurled himself, legs stretching out, Graypebble struggled to reach her back. A feirce hiss left her as she was unable to get the scraps of moss that had been there. Giving up, she started to groom her chest, before licking a paw and running it over her face. A gentle, but rusty purr escaped her maw as she felt Sagetail's bushy tail sweep over her back. Most likely, he was sweeping the moss she couldn't reach from her flank. "I got a decent amount of sleep. Though I've been awake for a bit. Anxious for the journey, I suppose." She gave the tom beside her a playful glance, a tease in her tone. "You might be able to move quickly, but I don't know if they rest of us can." She gave a snort as an image of the old badgers lumbering along behind the rest of the clan. "We're all just a bunch of old badgers."

Eaglecry Tom ; Warrior ; 20 Moons
At the toms thoughts, Eaglecry assessed the area around them. Flickering his tail, he pointed to the dotted bushes around the open land, leading straight for the grassy slope. "See the scattered bushes. We use them. Run to each one, wait to make sure no one has seen us, then move to the next." He flicked the tom on the shoulder, before taking off to the first bush. Keeping low, he moved so quickly, one would think he was flying across the land. His body a blur as he dove down the slope. As he reached the first bush, he paused beneath it, panting. His good eye squinted to make out the form of Shadepelt. Looking around, he was glad to see nothing was paying them any mind. Waving his tail, he signaled for the Bluffclan warrior to follow, before turning and racing for the next bush. Once reaching the bush, he took a moment to regain control of his breaths. He nose twitched at the rancid stench of the twolegs and their monsters. The roaring thick in his ears. His paws tingling to run to the mountains, to get away from the disaster before him. Moment by moment, he moved from one bush to the next, grateful to reach the grassy clearing. Crouching low, his black and orange fur sticking out against the green grass, he looked back to make sure Shadepelt was coming behind him.

Swiftpaw Molly ; Apprentice ; 10 Moons
At his purr, Swiftpaw felt herself loosen up a little bit. Her mind was quickly consumed by anxiety though, as he mentioned the big day. Gazing around the clearing, worry sparked in her eyes. "I'm as ready as I'll ever be. I slept decently, though woke plenty to the chill. Part of me regrets giving my nest up to the Bluffclan apprentices, but they needed more rest than I did." Her heart went out to the younger apprentices. Bluffclan had many, and the trauma of the day must had been difficult for the younger group. She glanced up at Rowanblaze, sparkling green eyes, meeting warm hazel. Her voice was soft when she spoke, though worry was thick in her tone. "Do you think Vixenshine will make it through the journey.? I know we have five kits to get through the mountains. While Feathersoul's kits can walk, they are still so young. Only a moon old. And Vixenshine..The little scraps. I can carry one of hers." While she was still small, she had long legs and muscle to her body. Even in her scrawny shape, one could see she was fit.

Mossystream-Heathclan-Mysticpaw( ♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥) Mossystream gave a small chuckle at her apprentice's reaction, it wasn't her intention to spook him. "Sorry didn't mean to startle you," she apologized to him. She listened to her warriors and frankly she felt bad the young tom had these kind of things on his mind with his age. But she held the same worries, that something could happen to any of their clanmates. "I'm sure we won't be blamed. Like you said we can only do so much." She offered a gentle smile to Mysticpaw. "But there will also be other warriors and and apprentices other than us helping the elders, so there will be alot of cats present to help."

Shadepelt Tom | Warrior | 24 moons HeathClan Territory | Eaglecry (♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥)
Shadepelt followed Eaglecry's lead with as much precision as possible. The BluffClan was far from used to hunting or even being on HeathClan territory, but he did the best he could, and by the time they had cleared all of the bushes and were standing in the grassy area, he hoped he hadn't embarrassed himself too much. "Not bad for a BluffClan cat, huh?" he said playfully. He was glad that some of his kind nature seemed to be returning to him after yesterday's incident. Scanning the area around him, filled with grass of different lengths, he focused his eyes on the movement of the blades of grass. He sat still for a second, just waiting, leaving Eaglecry slightly off-put, until he suddenly let out a low sound of triumph. He'd noticed a few blades of grass rustling, and was sure that a small piece of prey had caused it. Getting into his best hunter's crouch, he slowly stalked toward the creature, until realizing that HeathClan was a moor, and what did you do on moors? You run. Hoping he hadn't missed his chance to catch the prey, he quickly got up and started sprinting, wind streaming behind him and ruffling his thick dark fur.
Finally reaching the spot where he'd seen the grass move, he pounced on where he could just see the top of the creature's head. Hearing a small squeal, he knew he had landed on the right spot. Biting down hard into the creature's neck, he heard its neck snap and held up his piece of fresh-kill. It was a mouse, one that wasn't too scrawny but wasn't really filling either. At this revelation, he wiped the slight smile he'd had off his face. This mouse would be only a drop in the bucket for the elders. They needed to find more prey. Depositing the creature near where he and Eaglecry had emerged, he buried it and looked for the orange and black tom, and saw that he was busying himself with finding his own prey to bring back to the camp. Steeling himself to find more prey, he went back to scanning the grass until he found more movement, and began to inch his way forward, preparing to break into a sprint when he thought the time was right.

— 🌊 — Birdscreech Bluffclan || with Moonpaw Birdscreech blinked and looked over at the small apprentice with his name in her mouth. It took a moment for his brain to rewire, or at least get the right ones to fire. “Ah!” he said as recognition filled his eyes. “Young one, yes! Moonpaw, was it?” He vaguely recalled someone calling the apprentice by such a name. He also vaguely remembered rambling on about bees. How very in character of him.
“How are you, then?” he said good-naturedly, ambling to a nice patch of sunlight and settling down in it, resting his old haunches. “Thinking hard about those honey bees?” He smiled faintly. “I hope the old hive is doing okay. Back home. Despite statistics favoring their fate to be crushed under some twoleg thing. Ah, poor things.” He leaned over to Moonpaw. “Do you believe in fate, young one? Are our paws doomed to follow some predestined track, a path already carved out in the moss?”

— 🍃 — Honeyshade HeathClan || with Harestep Honeyshade’s whiskers twitched in amusement as she ducked out of the way of any potential dew flying off Harestep’s pelt. “Hey!” she let herself laugh. It was nice, to laugh. She started for the entrance, waving her tail. “Come on then, maybe we can catch the last bit of the sunrise.”
As she nosed out of the entrance and walked out onto the moor, she took in a deep breath of the crisp morning air. She determined ignored the faint stench of smoke. She didn’t need to think about twolegs and their monsters right now. “I’ll miss this,” she said quietly as she walked, feeling the long grass brush against her legs. “I like to think I’d finally win the Half-Moon Chase one day.”
Honeyshade slowly let out a breath as she looked over the moor, the grass lit in glimmering emerald waves under the glowing gold of the sun. Deep inside her chest grew a quiet contentment, a sense of peace she felt whenever she looked out over the moor. She’d felt like she’s been on edge for so long. If only for a moment, she let herself relax. “Do you think we’ll have something like this again?” she said. “Over the mountain?”

Jackdawstar - 🍃🌒 - HeathClan;; 🌒 - Silentstar ;; 🌒 - ♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥ ;;
There was a soothing sense of comfort in Silentstar's gentle movements, he lavished the friendly touch of her tail to his side. As a leader it wasn't often he was given soothing reminders that he was merely a cat stuck in the same battle, too. He would have to ensure he would return the same favor to her when the journey wore on her, which it undoubtedly would. Feeling the tension melt at last, he was able to raise his chin and listen intently to her words. I'm a leader. He reminded himself. I will never let myself be selfish like that again. His heart warmed with thankfulness for Silentstar's presence in an unprecedented time, he would make an effort to ensure he worked alongside her.
The conversation continued, turning from patching up his bleeding anxieties to strictly business. He nodded to express that he was actively listening when the spotted silver molly continued, his eyes matching her serious tan gaze. "Okay, that settles it. We will aim to reach the mountains before night fall, and stop to rest and catch prey along the way."
The uneasy shifting of her tail and ears expressed to Jackdawstar that there was more on the BluffClan leader's mind. He pricked his ears, leaning closer as she continued onwards, and caught the wobble of emotion that vibrated in her words. She mentioned her father and the puzzle pieces clicked in his mind; of course it would be even more frightening of a journey for her. Jackdawstar's only family was his younger sister and she was fitter than he was, he hadn't thought to worry for her more than anyone else. Silentstar was right about her father though, Jackdawstar remembered watching the old tom stumble into the elders den, how he'd slept undisturbed for so long. It would be a difficult journey for the old tom, indeed. The raven black tom brushed his tail delicately over Silentstar's jutting ribs and when he opened his maw his words were tender, "Shadedspeck is a warrior. He may reside in the elders den now but he hasn't lost his spirit." He smiled gently, "Remember, he is the one who gave you your spirit too. We'll do everything in our power to bring him to the other side of the mountains unharmed, I promise." There was a moment of silence in which Jackdawstar shifted his paws, "Now I don't want to say everyone will be unharmed and there is no possibility of failure but... we will work as a team. Everyone will." Words could only do so much to ease a sorrowful heart but he hoped he'd said the right things.
Raising his head, he could see the cats moving around. BluffClan and HeathClan mingled, their scents intertwined in the air; it was time. Thankfully some warriors had the foresight to hunt and while some cats were sharing a bird or rabbit, others were pacing in anticipation. Jackdawstar straightened, his tail lingering on Silentstar's flank before he moved to sweep it over the dewy grass. "I think it's time." He meowed without a quiver in his voice. He was sure.
Rowanblaze - 🍃🍁 - HeathClan Camp ;; 🍁 - Swiftpaw ;; 🍁 - ♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥ ;;
Rowanblaze recalled the apprentices the night before dividing the nests up between them. Before he'd gone to rest in his own crowded nest he remembered seeing tufts of fur and tails bursting from the seams of the apprentice den. He could imagine the nights sleep would have been uncomfortable for the not just Swiftpaw but for her denmates as well. He gave a soft purr of amusement to the comment she made about regretting giving up her nest. He nudged her shoulder gently with his head, "I'm sure they appreciated it. They were all quite shaken." Well, most of them had been. He still remembered hearing Blizzardpaw's proud chattering up until they'd retired to their den.
Her next question caught him off guard and he hesitated, turning his head towards the nursery. "It will be a tough journey," he began humbly, "I don't think anyone will let something bad happen to the kits though. The journey seems scary now but we have the strength of two clans. If we work together I think we'll be okay." Ever the optimist, there was honest belief to his words, as though he was certain they would work together and get to the other side in one piece. There was no point in believing otherwise and he certainly wasn't going to plant seeds of fear into his apprentices head. "I'm sure they would appreciate the help in carry kits along the way. We will all take turns," he straightened, his soft chest fur sticking out. It wasn't quite the time but his mind drifted to his own ideal of having kits of his own. Maybe if I prove I can protect the kits... his mind wafted to the thought of Honeyshade. He shook his head to clear it. I can think about that later!
"I think I'd like you to keep an eye on the other apprentices in our clan most importantly." His eyes narrowed seriously, "You and Moonpaw are the eldest apprentices in the clan so you have the most experience. Honeypaw is only 6 moons. They'll need guidance while their mentors are busy."
Stonepelt - 🌊🐚 - HeathClan Camp ;; 🐚 - Gullfeather ;; 🐚 - shadowstreak ;;
Gullfeather's playful jab earned her a dry stare. However, a purposeful flick of his whiskers was the response that gave the idea he wasn't actually offended. In fact, her teasing humour was the kind of joking that Stonepelt himself tended to display with others. "There wouldn't be anyone to annoy you if I was left behind," he swiped his tongue of his forepaw and sent it over his ears nonchalantly. Clearly, the prospect of the journey ahead was not enough to prevent the tom from maintaining his well-groomed appearance.
He snorted loudly at her next comment and curled his lips distastefully, "They need to be so scrawny so that they can take after their rabbit ancestors. Y'know, tunneling and whatnot?" The thought of being constricted in a rabbit tunnel sent a shiver of disgust down the toms spine. One more, the tom was reminded of how thankful he was to be from BluffClan. The tom heaved a sigh and let his paw fall down so he could roll over again, this time he moved to roll onto his back with his paws dangling of his soft stomach. "I wish they'd stop making us wait and just leave." He couldn't stand watching the warriors around them pacing and gossiping. He would rather be leaving. Brooksong🎶 - HeathClan Camp ;; 🎶 - Rushingfire ;; 🎶 - ♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥ ;; Brooksong's gaze softened at she looked at the haughty tom cat. She knew him well enough to know that despite all his flaws, he was often just thinking of how to better the clan. Truthfully, she didn't always agree with the ambitious tom and the way he acted around the HeathClan cats, but he was a valuable asset to the clan. Animosity with the opposing clan wasn't a trait he carried alone, she knew plenty of other warriors who turned their nose at the moor cats. She wisely decided not to argue with him about when they should have left, instead she opted to let the subject be changed. She didn't want to confront the tom; she merely wanted to ease the tension. "I'm supposed to float around. Wolfstorm wants me to check up on everyone but didn't give me a specific task." It seemed a wise idea to put one of the most likeable cats in the position of checking on stragglers and exhausted cats. It also seemed wise to put the aggressive tom as far from conflict as he could get whilst still moving with the group.
She gestured with a flick of her head, "Come, let's move into the fresh air." She stepped over a sleeping form before slipping out of the den. Instantly she was greeted with a rush of icy air and she fluffed her short coat against it to no avail. "Perhaps the air is too fresh," she flicked her ears sheepishly and forced her teeth not to chatter.

Vixenshine | HeathClan | Queen | Feathersoul, Foxtumble (♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥ )At Feathersoul's reassuring mew, Vixenshine's initial blind panic melted away, and she calmed down considerably. "Three kits?" She mewed faintly. She slowly leaned forward, heart thumping in anticipation, as she looked upon her children for the first time. With a quivering muzzle, she gently pressed her nose to their tiny, warm bodies. "They're perfect..." She purred softly, nosing each one in turn. Foxtumble's arrival caught her attention, and she touched her muzzle to his as he set the rabbit at their paws. "It's great!" She mewed, leaning down to sniff the rabbit. Her mouth was watering already, and she immediately began to dig in hungrily, though her tail ran along her mate's flank in thanks. It was only after a few moments that her muzzle emerged from the rabbit, pushing it sheepishly towards Feathersoul as she examined the kits once more. Galewhistle | HeathClan | Medicine Cat | Silentstar, Spiderwatcher (♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥ ) -> VixenshineGalewhistle didn't respond to her leader's outburst, though she was a cat who would be far from cowed by such a thing. Her eyes narrowed slightly and she regarded him steadily for a few moments, before dipping her head in acquiescence. "I'm sorry if I offended you." She mewed coolly to his retreating form. She was well aware that he was stressed by the burden of the journey, but it had been necessary to bring it up. As his medicine cat, she needed to inform him of the risks. She would talk to him later. There were tasks she needed to attend to. The sound of Silentstar's mew brought her attention to the other leader, and she dipped her head in turn to the leader. "I just want him to know I'm on his side. I'm here to help. He doesn't have to do this alone." Her mew was uncharacteristically weary, showing just how tired the medicine cat was. While other cats rested, she had worked through the night tending injuries, and then collecting herbs for the journey, and she'd done it almost all by herself, with only Moonpaw relieving some of the burden. Her paws were stained and littered with herbs, and her claws muddy and broken. Nodding farewell to the BluffClan cats, she began the backbreaking process of mixing sorrel, daisy, chamomile, and burnet into traveling herbs for two Clans. Though Silentstar had permitted use of her cats to help, she knew they had their own tasks to fulfill. This was hers. After a while, she had a long row of herb piles in front of her. She leaned back and stretched with a low groan, the exhaustion clear in her mew. Where's Moonpaw? I'm sure she'd like to help hand these out. She thought. Blinking, she looked around and then spotted the apprentice sitting by Birdscreech, who was currently chattering about bees, of all things. Birdscreech. Her tail twitched in annoyance. While she held nothing but respect for her BluffClan counterpart, his attitude seemed a little too carefree at the moment. He was clearly well enough, but hadn't checked on a single cat since awakening, while Galewhistle was working herself into the dirt trying to handle cats of both Clans. I'll do it myself. She decided. One by one, she took a pack of traveling herbs to every warrior and apprentice she could see. The pile slowly dwindled, and when she was running low, she returned to mix more. Once she was confident every warrior and apprentice had their herbs, her head drooped, shoulders heavy and aching. The elders and queens remained, and they needed extra time so she could examine them before they left. As she prepared to move, she smelled the sweet scent of prey beside her, and turned to see Spiderwatcher approach. "Thank you, Spiderwatcher." She mewed, dipping her head in gratitude. Though her mew was neutral, her eyes were brimming with emotion. It seemed there was at least one cat who had noticed her plight. She knelt down and ate hungrily. There was no time to sit down for as proper meal, at least for the busy medicine cat. When she was done, she picked up the remainder, along with two packets of traveling herbs, and set them down beside Birdscreech and Moonpaw. She visited the elder's den next, laden with more traveling herbs. Thankfully, it seemed the BluffClan elders were not much worse for the wear following their escape. She had brought some comfrey to aid their joints for the journey, and had tactfully mixed in some coltsfoot into Sagetail's traveling herbs to ease his breathing. Beetleflight's paw appeared to be much better after some rest, and she decided he didn't need any more herbs for it. With the elders taken care of, she moved next to the nursery, where she was surprised and relieved to see Vixenshine was awake. "Good morning, Vixenshine." She mewed as she padded over. Galewhistle & Vixenshine | HeathClan | Medicine Cat & Queen | Feathersoul, Foxtumble (♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥ )"Good morning, Galewhistle." Vixenshine replied, greeting her medicine cat with a dip of her head.
"I'm glad to see you're doing better." The medicine cat meowed as she carefully examined the red-furred molly. Thankfully, she seemed much better than the previous night. "You should be well enough to nurse them yourself now." She announced. "Hopefully the movement from traveling won't be too taxing..." As she moved to move the kits from Feathersoul to their mother, doubt flickered in her eyes. Vixenshine was stronger, but she was still in little state to be moving around. The queen clearly caught this, because she reached out a paw to forestall the medicine cat from moving the kits just yet. "We both know I won't be able to make this journey, Galewhistle." Vixenshine meowed softly. Her look held pain as she looked at Foxtumble and the kits, but her mew was strong as she said, "I won't be coming with you."
Galewhistle started at this, eyes stretching wide in consternation. "Vixenflight! What do you mean? You can't stay here! What about your kits?"
"My kits are strong." Vixenshine replied. "And they will have two Clans and their father to help raise them. Galewhistle, you know I can't move well right now. I will only slow you down."
"The twolegs are on their way." Galewhistle's voice shook. "You...you'll die." "I know." Vixenshine's mew was full of grief, but not regret. "I won't see my kits grow up. But if I know I've saved them from the terror of these twolegs, that's enough for me." There was nothing more Galewhistle could say. "I will let Jackdawstar know." She mewed thinly, setting down the traveling herbs for Feathersoul and the kits, and Foxtumble, and then making her way out the nursery. Galewhistle | HeathClan | Medicine Cat | Silentstar (♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥ ), Jackdawstar (@aether )She took a deep breath, trying to collect herself, before fetching the final pair of traveling herbs and taking them to the leaders. She set one in front of Silentstar, then padded to Jackdawstar, where she set down the last of the herbs. When she looked at him, there was no trace of the earlier incident, only worry. "Vixenshine says she is going to stay behind." She mewed in a low voice. "I tried to talk her out of it, but she's made up her mind..." Her mew trailed off. "If anyone is going to convince her, it's you, Jackdawstar. Vixenshine knows she won't make it, and the Clan will slow down with her. I can't in good faith tell her otherwise. But if it's her leader, maybe she'll believe differently." She dipped her head to Jackdawstar with a shuddering breath, then staggered to her den to fetch the herbs she would be taking with her on the journey, mind and heart heavy.

Wolfstorm | BluffClan | DeputyAs Silentstar had requested, the BluffClan deputy began to travel from den to den, making sure every cat was awake and getting ready. The leaders and deputies had formed a rough plan of their travel formation the night before, with the queens, kits, and elders in the center, circled by warriors on the sides, with apprentices with their mentors. He stopped by the nursery to check on his family, and was relieved to see they were doing well. He'd received news overnight of Vixenshine's kitting, and that Feathersoul was feeding the kits. As he exited the nursery, he was stopped by Galewhistle, who provided him with traveling herbs. After lapping up the bitter plants with a grimace, he proceeded to the elder's den. Beetleflight & Wolfstorm | BluffClan | Elder & Deputy | Sagetail (aether ), Graypebble (♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥ )The BluffClan elder had finally managed to sleep well after the harrowing night, and when he awoke at Dawn, his gaze was clear and full of anticipation for the trip. "I must admit, being able to travel to a new home does have a bit of excitement to it, doesn't it?" He mewed. "I've never really been one for change, myself, but I can't help but think this will be good for the Clans."Their conversation was interrupted with the arrival of Galewhistle, providing them with herbs for the trip, and shortly after by Wolfstorm. "Greetings, Shadedspeck, Beetleflight, Sagetail, Graypebble." The broad-shouldered tom meowed, dipping his head in respect to each elder. "We will be leaving soon, so I wanted to make sure you were all fit to travel." "We're fine, Wolfstorm." Graypebble responded with a rusty purr. "Galewhistle just gave us herbs. We'll all be fine, so worry about the young'uns." Wolfstorm shook his head slightly in admiration for the older tom's resilience. "Very well, Beetleflight. If you - or any of you - need anything, don't hesitate to let me know." He mewed, looking around at the group, before dipping his head and leaving the den. Wolfstorm | BluffClan | Deputy | Silentstar (♥𝔉𝔯𝔬𝔰𝔱ℜ𝔬𝔰𝔢♥ )With the elders tended to, he returned to Silentstar's side. "The fresh-kill pile looks a little better, and we can hunt along the way." He mused. "I think every cat is just eager to get moving." Like every cat, he could feel the distinct rumbling of the twoleg monsters under his paws, and he shifted uncomfortably. The sooner they got every cat out of here, the better. As he saw Galewhistle totter past them and over to Jackdawstar, he felt a surge of sympathy for the overworked HeathClan medicine cat. "She looks exhausted." He murmured.
