Lalani { { Nikelocke } }
This was it... The day of the champion league, Lalani would have been rife with nerves, if she were competing at all. The girl had decided ever since she was little that she wanted to take to the region's Pokémon contests, rather than the grim fighting. She didn't have the heart to watch Pokémon in pain, but she did have the heart to dress them up. If it were up to her, she never would have come this industrial city... Although it was constructed to look beautiful, and indeed, it was - everything about it felt fake. The air felt somewhat thicker, and she could never wrap her head around the fact that the ground that she was walking on just wasn't real. She hadn't been on this journey for very long, but already she missed Hythe City. The entire reason she was here in the first place was because of Ren - the moment they met she became infatuated with his desire to explore, falling into the rabbit hole of theories that he spun her. He had strummed up a passion for her own region that she had never even considered before, and she was born here! When he told her that he was moving on towards Nikelocke city, she had made the split second decision to leave behind the comfortable world she knew and pursue her own dream. But now that she was here, man was she missing home. But she held her grumbling moans to herself, instead chasing after his footsteps as they made their way to one of the Pokémon centers.
Finally out of the crowds, Lalani took a moment to catch her breath, high strung from the claustrophobic battle that seemed to be just moving from one place to the other in this place! She glanced behind her to make sure Leif had kept up with her, her small Eevee was right behind her, looking as grumpy as ever. His brown eyes flicked around as if always on alert, and he always seemed to be glaring off with a stringent frown. "Hoo... Do you suppose it's always this crowded? Like is this just normal for these people?" She piped up to Ren with a sheepish laugh, jostling her pack so it settled more comfortably on her shoulders.
Dominic { { Nikelocke } }
Amongst all the hustle and bustle in Nikelocke, Dominic had managed to find the one seemingly quiet corner. He hung in the alleyway between two buildings, cast in their looming shadows. He had taken a moment of refrain from the trek towards the Pokémon league stadium to take a smoke and let his Pokémon collect themselves. His face was illuminated through the gloom by the light of his phone as he scrolled through the news, looking for the exact time the league might be announced. There was no way he was going to be late, he needed to get this whole thing over with so he could continue hunting down badges. He gathered that the doors would be open soon, so he let out a last long exhale and dropped his cigarette to the ground, crushing it out with his foot and starting off towards the streets once more. "Deeeeenneeeee..." On his shoulder, his Dedenne groaned in protest, saddling back up to the top of his head. "Pipe down, we're almost there." Dominic grumbled, carelessly shouldering people who stepped into his way as he made his way towards the stadium.

Ren, unfazed by her complaining, said "I saw a post saying they make the streets so short here to encourage the use of the boats since they cost money to take. It makes sense if you think about it, I bet this place wasn't cheap to make." as per usual, he was filled to the brim with mostly useless and very likely incorrect information "But to answer your question, I hope not. It's probably because the tournament is officially starting today. Once the ceremony is over trainers will be heading out to challenge the gyms." he walked up to the counter and glanced over the wares, eventually deciding on some potions and antidotes.

A frown tapered to Lalani's lips. "Doesn't that sound kind of...? I don't know, illegal or something?" She folded her arms comfortably and leaned her weight to one hip as she waited for Ren to purchase his things. "Are you allowed to build things purposefully inconvenient as an incentive to make people spend money?" She wondered if she sounded naïve proposing such an idea, but she honestly did feel it was pretty shady. "Also, is it legal to just build an island even?!"

Ren laughed and shrugged "I was reading some forums last night and it said that the Argent Corporation is kinda shady." he appreciated Lalani. They'd become fast friends and she was always willing to engage him and his theories, which was a change of pace from the usual eyebrow raises and scoffs he usually got "On the surface they appear to be a normal business, but not many people are actually sure where all their money comes from." well, it probably came from the fact they took empty places and turned them into vacation spots, but still. He grinned wickedly "I can't wait to figure this stuff out for myself! It was such a good idea to move here."

I finally finished the form for my other trainer. While I put him down as having a Pokémon he doesn't actually have one yet and he plans on getting one from the professor))

Henry is a dreamer and prone to making life-changing decisions on a whim - such as starting his journey as a Pokémon Trainer in the Siluvi Region rather than his native region of Unova. He's not the brightest of kids and is often slower on the uptake than those around him and can take awhile to decipher the hidden meaning behind somebody's words. His battle style is very straightforward and he struggles against more advanced opponents -- Standing at 5'08" he has an athletic build and tanned skin that speaks of someone who spends a lot of time outside. Lalani felt a shiver run up her spine, she stiffened up and cast a glance around. It almost felt as though someone were watching her, like the entire Argent Corp had their eyes everywhere at once. She liked to think of herself as a pretty intuitive person, she listened to whatever her heart told her, and right now her heart was telling her that this entire city gave her the creeps. As soon as the Pokémon championship ceremony was over she wanted off this industrial rock as fast as possible! "That's so crazy... Back in Hythe I never would have guessed that anything fishy was going on... What region were you from Ren?" Lalani chirped, realizing that she had forgot to even ask him that before.

She had heard of the Unova region, and well - the slew of events that had gone on there. It was almost impossible not to hear about it when it was all over the news. It sounded like a beautiful place, but the girl knew that she would probably never get to visit there. Why? "Oh! Heh, well I was sort of a shut in." She laughed sheepishly, feeling a bit bad. Should she have known more about it? Probably, this was her own region after all! "I of course heard about it when the construction was going on, but I had just never expected the scale to be this... Large. I guess there's a lot about here that I don't know about... I've actually never visited anywhere other than Hythe, I was born and raised there." She tapped her cheek thoughtfully as she smiled at Ren. "Guess that's why I'm also not used to the climate yet!"

He glanced at his phone, double checking the time "It looks like we still have some time before the starting ceremony begins. Anything you want to do while we can?" they had maybe half an hour or so before they should start heading towards the stadium. He stuffed his phone back in his pocket and looked to Lalani "Apparently Nikelocke 'has anything you could ask for', so I bet we can find something to do."

Lalani didn't have to think long about it, almost as soon as Ren had offered she gasped so loud it was like she was sucking up all the oxygen in the room. "Ooo!~ Let's go to a Pokemon boutique! I don't have any outfits for Leif, if I'm going to compete in the contests we should dress for success!" She managed to reign in her voice so it was just below a squeal. Beside her, the small Eevee's ears perked up. "Vee? Voi vee!" He shook his head frantically, planting his paws into the ground, it was apparent that he really didn't want to go shopping... But Lalani leaned down and scooped him up into her arms, his rebellious flails did nothing. "Oh come on Leify, you're going to look so cute!" His ears lowered to the back of his head as he let out a few groans.

A quiet, insecure and introverted boy who seems to have a hard time meeting other people, either talking too little or too much upon meeting someone for the first time. He's constantly worrying about how others perceive him and tries to stand out as little as possible. Despite all that he's taking the gym challenge, mainly because he has an easier time dealing with people and his insecurities when he's focusing on a Pokémon battle. He wants to become more sociable and confident and he hopes that the gym challenge will help him with that. It's also the perfect opportunity to explore the forests and other routes, something he is very excited for. -- Mikael has tousled light brown hair and green eyes. Despite that she does take training her Pokémon seriously and in return they trust her to make the right decisions. It was spearheaded by a group against Pokemon fighting. Something about them being inhumane." Ren said unhelpfully "But that one might be a bit farfetched. Let's go see if they have anything good for you to buy." he finished packing up his stuff and followed Lalani out of the Pokemon Center. It seemed the crowds had died down just a bit.

Lalani jostled her pack again, this time eagerly bouncing in excitement. "You sure do know a lot about random stuff!" She chirped, following Ren out of the door, thankful to see that the crowds were more manageable now. She pulled up her phone and looked for directions to the nearest boutique, there was one not too far. They should be able to walk there and still make it in time for the ceremony. "I bet if I asked you anything you'd know the answer! Like... Whaat's... 4 x 10... -6?" She snapped her fingers as she thought of the question.

Mikael kept his gaze low as he walked down the street leading to the Pokémon league stadium, mumbling apologies whenever he accidentally bumped into people or shoved them aside. He regretted coming to this city with its crowded streets and loud and excited people. But he wouldn't have to stay here for too long. Once the tournament was officially starting he could finally leave. There was still more than enough time before he starting ceremony began but Mikael didn't really want to explore the city, at least not when there were so many crowds. Instead he had decided to head straight for the stadium, even with so much time left. There was no way he was going to be late.
As he made his way through the crowds he could feel his Houndour getting impatient as she was wriggling in his arms, wanting to walk on her own four feet. "Sorry, Aludra," he told her. "You can't run around with so many people. You'll get lost." Aludra gave a short bark in protest but stopped trying to free herself. Mikael chuckled at her. "Don't worry, I'll put you down again once we're at the stadium." |

He shot the other the most realistic pout he could, but it quickly crumbled away as he started to look around "Let's take a boat." he suggested "I bet it will be faster, even if it feels like a scam." besides, the person on the boat would know how to get them to their destination faster.

The sound of someone at her door startled her. She truly had assumed that most people would be at Nikelocke to watch the opening. Maybe it was just someone here with a delivery? Shrugging her shoulders she hauled herself off the ground and made her way to the door. At this point she'd convinced herself it was just a local here to ask something, since many of the locals didn't enjoy entering Nikelocke. She opened the door "Yes? What can I help you with?"

Lalani giggled at his playful pout, she didn't blame him, she was far from a math-wiz either, she didn't even know the answer to her own question. If Ren had coughed out an answer that sounded half decent she definitely would have bought it. "Oh yeah! Good idea." She chirped, trotting after him with Leif still in her arms as they made their way towards the ferry. Luckily, it didn't take long to find one, Ren was right, these things were convenient and everywhere. She had never seen a system like this before, the idea of water-way travel sounded fascinating! Especially since she came from a place where most water was frozen off anyways. "Hiya!" She greeted the ferryman with a beaming smile. "Two please?"
Dominic { { Nikelocke } }
Dominic had decided to make his way towards the stadium, figuring that it's better earlier than late. Besides, it's not like he wanted anything else to do in this industrial city anyway. He popped a piece of mint gum in his mouth to help mask his nicotine breath and began shoving his way past the crowds towards the stadium. He wasn't going to be extorted by that boat travel, no matter how much more convenient it might have been. He made his way through with his Pokémon in tow, none of which wished to be restrained to their Pokeballs, but only one of which was actually able to ride on him. Eventually all of his pushing and shoving had bore fruit, as he arrived near the crowd of other eager trainers awaiting the doors to open. However, he had ended up pushing himself straight into the back of another boy. "Tch." Instead of apologizing, Dominic just gave a small hiss of annoyance as he momentarily lost his balance, almost toppling into the younger man. He looked down to them his cold silvery eyes.

They were greeted kindly and the ferryman welcomed them onto the boat "Where do you two want to go?" Ren asked about a Pokemon Boutique and he nodded "I know just the place. It's a bit off the beaten trail, but I can get you there in a few minutes." as it turned out, taking the boats was a better idea. It was way quicker than trying to get through the crowds of people and the walks and bridges.

After what felt like an eternity Mikael had finally reached the stadium. He wasn't the only one who had thought of getting here early, far from it. But at least he could set his Houndour down now. Once Aludra's paws were touching the ground she gave another short bark and looked up at the people that had already gathered here. Mikael just kept his gaze down, not feeling like striking up a conversation with anyone here. He didn't know how to start one anyway without feeling weird. So instead he just watched Aludra who took a few steps in one direction to sniff at some of the waiting trainers and then trotted back to him.
Without warning someone bumped into him, causing him to stumble forward a step or two. Surprised and annoyed he glanced over his shoulder, not able to stop himself from hissing a "Watch where you're going, dumbass!" as he did so. No sooner had he blurted out those words he wished he hadn't. He turned around to face the other guy and took a step back, clearly intimidated but still somewhat annoyed. "Ah, fu-" he muttered, except he actually finished that word, as he moved to the side a little, looking up at the other trainer. Yup, this guy was intimidating but Mikael forced himself to not look away, not wanting to seem even more pathetic. There was also the urge to say sorry, but for what? For being bumped into? So instead he just took another step to get out of the other's way. "Alright, happy now?" He grunted, mentally kicking himself. How was that supposed to make this crappy situation any better? But he couldn't help it. This guy was ticking him off. Meanwhile Aludra looked back and forth between the trainer and his Pokémon, her eyes finally settling on the Dedenne on his head.
