(Exactly ^^ but it's easier said than done with assignments and living with five other girls in a tiny apartment. It's hard to get time alone.)

(I have semesters as well but breaks start pretty early. Also, college professors just love slamming their students with more things to do, it seems.)

Iris was alone in the forest collecting herbs and stones that her grandmother required for the store. Her locks were pulled from her face in a messy bun yet curls still fell to frame her face. She was serene and graceful but out of place among the trees for she wore skinny jeans and a tight black top with an embroidered dahlia; the flower for her kind. She tucked a curl behind her ear as she plucked a piece of rose quartz from the tall grass. She examined the stone between her well manicured nails before tossing it in a satin pouch tied at her waist. The young witch paused for a moment to lift her face to the rays of sun that filtered through the canopy. Her eyes were bright and ever-changing, never staying on just one color. Shiloh headed into the forest, and kept glancing around to make sure that he was alone and no one else was in the forest with him. He usually was alone when he ventured into the forest, but it didn't hurt to check and make sure. He didn't particularly want someone randomly wandering into the forest to see him shift. He had walked pretty far into the forest and took one more glance around before he shifted. A large and beautiful elk taking his place. He could feel himself relax as he was now in the form he felt more comfortable in. It made him feel free. He picked up his ears and listened and looked around before he started walking once again.

Iris froze as she felt an odd shift in the air which she only felt when a Night Worlder was in the proximity. She straightened from plucking a four leaf clover and placed it in her pouch as she scanned her surroundings. The young witch cautiously moved forward for she didn't know the intentions of the other creature. She could certainly handle herself if she needed to but she wasn't a shapeshifter or a vampire; she was a witch without any weapon except for her wits. She crouched low when she heard movement but gathered the courage to raise her head. Her multicolored eyes widened as they settled upon a proud elk moving through the forest. Well, they're not entirely common here so I guess that's a shapeshifter. She shifted her weight and winced when her foot snapped a twig and she cursed under her breath.

Shiloh made his way though the forest, stepping lightly on the ground littered with leaves. He was walking leisurely enjoying the fresh air of the forest and listening to the sounds around him. Although one sound seemed out of place, a snap of a twig which made him stop in his tracks. He turned his head towards where the sound came from and kept his gaze fixed over in that direction. He kept his ears perked up, listening for any more sounds, and he sniffed at the air. A strange scent in the air and he felt a odd presence near him. A Night Worlder possibly? He thought to himself before he took a cautious step toward where the sound came from.

Iris felt eyes fall upon her -- well, not directly but she knew that the elk was looking in her general direction. She let out a delicate sigh and stood, her movements graceful as she straightened. Her fingers plucked and smoothed the fabric of her shirt. Her eyes, which were now an icy blue, fixated on the elegant creature before she spoke, "my my... Aren't we just a little out of place, Mr. Elk." She cocked her head and gave him the most dazzling smile she could manage. The witch practically glided toward him but stopped a few paces away. Her voice was velvety as she purred her name, "I'm Iris. And who may you be?"

Shiloh watched her as she stood up from her place in the brush and he finally got a good look at her. He could tell from her graceful movements that she was a Night Worlder, and the embroidered dahlia upon her shirt gave away what she was. A witch. She was right that he was out of place, but he was glad that it was a Night Worlder in the forest with him and not a human. Humans were much harder to deal with. He watched her carefully as she made her way up to him, any Night Worlder could be unpredictable and he did't particularly want to be charmed by a witch. She was charming, but a little too charming, maybe even a bit persuasive, which made him a bit cautious. Maybe it was a good thing that he wasn't easily swayed by females of any kind. They only just met, but she already exchanged her name with him and he felt that it was courteous to do the same, but was it worth changing back into his human to do so? Maybe she was lucky that he was such a nice guy. He let out a small huff, almost like a sigh, and changed back into his human form in front of her. Once he changed back he looked to her with large brown eyes. "Shiloh." he said simply to answer her question.

Sorry it has taken me so long >o< )
She flashed a brilliant smile, "there's no need to be wary of me. I'm just picking up the simple ingredients so there's no way I could actually harm you." Her smile broadened slightly. Iris knew that her words weren't entirely comforting since she was the type to use charms and spells forbidden to maidens such as herself. Her hand absently flicked some of her dark locks behind her shoulder and the scent of chamomile rolled off her, a scent that could calm almost any anxiety. She was pretty and she was certainly aware of that but few knew that she was more dangerous than a viper about to strike. "What an interesting name. I guess your parents wanted to hide your true nature or I'm simply used to meeting others with deep roots in the community." She shook her head at herself, "I'm making little sense; I'm used to others having nature-based names like myself. That is the old-fashioned, Night World way, afterall." She sweetly batted her lashes to cover the slight condescending tone; she typically looked down on others that didn't come from a long and prominent line within their species. Iris was a Harman witch, the most famous lineage of witches due to the fact that they descended from the first of the witches; Hellewise, daughter of the Witch-Queen Hecate.

(it's totally fine ^^)
Shiloh watched and listened to her as she spoke, taking note of her movements and the tone in which she spoke in. And what was that scent? Chamomile? Was she really trying to play nice or was it all just a trick? Her words weren't exactly reassuring and didn't do much to get rid of his cautiousness towards her. And the batting of her lashes did nothing to him when trying to cover her condescending tone. "I guess my parents aren't old fashioned." he commented. None of his family had nature based names, maybe they were trying to hide the fact that they were Night Worlders or it was just because they were a strayed a bit from the notable lines within the Shapeshifters. He isn't exactly shapeshifter royalty. He put his hands in his pockets and glanced around, ready to leave the conversation. "Well I'm going to keep going, I'll leave you to your ingredient collecting." he said then took a step in the direction he was walking in before.

Iris bowed her head and toed a pebble in the grass, "oh... Alright, then. I guess I'll see you around." Her tone held sadness at the farewell but she turned away and started heading back the way she came. It wasn't entirely a fib that she was dissatisfied with the departure from the conversation but she didn't want to show her loneliness. The young witch knelt and began plucking mushrooms from a rotting log, humming softly as she did. Since she was a Harman, she was separated from others and trained in the magical arts alone. It was hard to meet any other Night Worlders and she only interacted with humans at school, where she practiced most of her charms and spells. The girl sighed but continued her work before glancing at the position of the sun, I shouldn't take much longer... Granny wouldn't be pleased. Working for her grandmother was easy but working for the Crone herself? Very difficult to say the least.

"See ya." Shiloh added as he glanced over at her. He felt kind of bad that he was leaving the witch by herself, but he didn't exactly come out here to chat with her. He came out here to enjoy himself and the nature around him while in his elk form. He didn't really want that time to be interrupted by anyone, even if she was another Night Worlder. He looked up at the sky, he probably shouldn't stay out too much longer. He wouldn't want to be out here in the dark. Bad things wander around in the night. He looked back ahead of him and took another step then changed back into his elk form. Then he wandered off farther into the forest.

Rey was exhausted from a night of patrolling the streets for Night Worlders that were out harming defenseless humans. He wasn't entirely thrilled that he was still on the hunt even though it was light out and he had school in a few hours. The young man groaned, fiddling with a silver throwing knife, as his Superior's words infiltrated his sleepy thoughts; "there have been attacks occurring in broad daylight so stay out as long as you can before committing to your cover lives." He truly despised that man but this is exactly what he had been trained to do. The young Hunter sighed and absently ran a hand through his dark and unruly locks, his charcoal eyes searching for any suspicious activity on the streets. He paused when he had the gut feeling to venture off the sidewalk and into the woods. He narrowed his eyes at the shadows dancing around the trees and stepped off the man-made path to search the woodland for a Night Worlder.

Shiloh was up early in the morning, he always was kind of a morning person, and he was ready to venture out into the woods again today. After eating a bowl a cereal and getting himself ready for the day he stepped out of his small home and onto the porch. He took a deep breath of fresh air then gazed out into the forest, he could hardly wait to shift and wander the woods. If wasn't exactly the most exciting pass time, but Shiloh could finally be himself when he was alone in the woods. He could be himself at home too, but his large elk form didn't exactly allow him to shift indoors. The forest gave him much more room. He stepped off the porch then headed deep into the woods. He waited until he was far enough in and made sure he was completely alone before he shifted.
