Everyone is confused to why Yewpaw was jealous of Shadowpaw and Shadepaw.
Oat isn't able to stop the bleeding this time, and Rootspark passes away in her sleep. Both Shadowpaw and Shadepaw are upset about her death, Shadowpaw tries to be the best he can be, but Shadepaw has trouble keeping up with the other apprentices.

Otterfur has been talking to Hollydawn about making Yewpaw a warrior so early. Because she already knew, and was able to preform everything perfectly.

Sodapaw overheard these plans, and exclaimed from fear. The one he thought was Hallow becoming a higher rank than him was terrifying to Sodapaw. Sodapaw was heard and punished.

Hollydawn agrees to make Yewpaw a warrior, as long as she completes her assesment on her first try. Otherwise she would have to be taught at the same pace as the other apprentices.
When Dustleap announces that she will be moving to the nursery carrying Viper's kits, Shadepaw finally decides what he wants to do. Shadepaw asks Viper if he could be like a defender/helper in the nursery. Viper tells Houndstar about this, and they both agree the role would suit Shadepaw. Oat agrees to teach Shadepaw how to deliver kits and treat basic wounds, and Viper helps Shadepaw practice how to fight.
Shadepaw officially moves to help in the nursery.

Yewheart starts having little bouts of strangness. This freaks Sodapaw out, as she acts just like Hallow did, before returning back to normal.

Hollydawn is visited one night by a quiet cat of StarClan. Mocking them for their lack of true leadership, they prophesize a cat of storms would set all the peices in place and eventually strike him down for all of his failures.
Beetle is made a warrior and named Beetleflick. They immediately help Shadelight in camp duties and hiss at other clanmates to bugger off.

Hollydawn; seeing the clan's suspicion, quickly chooses a deputy. He chooses Otterfur.
Shadowgleam immediately starts helping Shadedlight. He is sorry he was jealous of him. When Oat is out collecting herbs, Dustleap starts kitting, leaving Shadedlight to help. Dustleap successfully gives birth to Eaglekit and Cherrykit.

Otterfur seems to do his duties fine, but the lack of input from Hollydawn has set in this heavy doubt that Otterfur can't really do the job. He fears if Hollydawn dies now, then he'll be forced to lead the Clan- not that he tells anyone. He fears if Hollydawn heard his thoughts.
A kit named Paint is found outside PikeClan and is taken in under Shadelight's care. They're almost old enough to be apprenticed.
