Eaglenose followed Ledgepaw up the tree, taking the easy way - branch to branch. He didn’t need to practice. All he needed was to guide his apprentice and be there to catch him if he fell. He made sure to stay a branch below Ledgepaw at all times until they finally reached the midway point. Eaglenose shifted to the side of the branch, signaling for Ledgepaw to join him. “How do you feel?” He asked. “More comfortable yet?” "Uh. Yeah. More than before, that's for sure." Ledgepaw assured, scrambling to balance himself on the branch beside his mentor. He looked down with a light huff, suddenly seeing the daunting task of having to eventually climb back down. For now, he pushed the thought away, assuming he would get it when he got there. He looked at Eaglenose. "What next?" “Well, since we’re here, and it kind of ties into the climbing lesson,” Eaglenose began, scanning the branches around them, seeing if there was a more ideal spot for it, but deciding they were fine here. “If you’re out with a hunting patrol, and you climb a tree going after a bird - what are the two best ways to catch it?” He asked. (Just for the record - eaglenose is a genius but his writer may not be lol. So if I say something that doesn’t make sense - please let ya girl know!)

Usually we hunt in pairs or patrols so it’s a bit safer to scare the bird down,” Eaglenose explained. “But if you’re confident or there’s not a good vantage point from below to send it, then you can catch it in the tree. Just make sure you don’t overestimate your balance and climbing skills for that. We wouldn’t want you falling and hurting yourself.” He said, a slight sternness entering his meow. He knew all about dumb apprentices or young warriors doing dumb things to gain favor or impress his clan mates - he had been that dumb young warrior once. He was lucky he hadn’t hurt himself bad and was able to catch himself in the tree before he hit the ground.

That's something Sunnypaw would do, not me." Ledgepaw grimaced at the thought, before he shook the nerves away and nodded slowly. "Hunt in pairs, or catch it in the tree. I think I got it." He looked at the branches. "How do you know if a branch is stable? What if you need to leap to one to catch the bird, but you haven't weighed yourself on it first?" He asked, often a tactical thinker.

Thicker branches are a good idea, especially for catching the prey in the tree.” Eaglenose explained. “Otherwise, if it looks different than the others. Branches that are dying will look paler on some of the bark. Those could still be strong but there’s no point risking it.” He said.

He pointed his tail towards a branch a few feet above them, thick at the base where it met the trunk and smooth enough to not cause any paw-stubs. Above all, it didn't look discolored at all.

And if the wind is bad, you shouldn’t try to catch a bird in the tree, always scare it down. That way you can focus on staying on your paws. If the wind is up, it can catch you in a second if you’re not paying attention, depending how high you are.” He explained. He glanced down at the ground below them, it looked more daunting than it really was. He knew that. He motioned down with his tail. “Okay, let’s try our paws at getting back down smoothly.” He announced.

"I know I shouldn't, but..." Dreamlily slowly stood to her paws, discomfort and pain in her eyes as she backed away from the rest of the Clan. "I don't want to be here right now. I'll... yeah, we should get out of Camp." She pleaded, hopping up the ledges to try and reach the camp exit at the top of the camp. It was easier than leaving at the bottom entrance, where all the Clan was gathered. Clovertail followed Dreamlily up the ledges, glaring down at the Shadowclan warriors only once before exiting the camp. “Where do you want to go?” She asked, but only after they had gotten far enough away from camp the that murmurs and shouts had all but disappeared. (So sorry, I missed this one!) Dreamlily’s ears were flat against her head, but she quickly nodded. “Out near the oak trees is fine. I think I just want to climb something, be up high. Get… get my mind sorted out. Thank you, really, Clovertail. It’s thoughtful of you to want to come with me…” She thanked softly.

( Moonblazer sounds good! i want Hollypaw to do some training ) (Sounds good! I’ll have Starlingdust take her so her and Rainpaw can go together) Starlingdust glanced at the Shadowclan Warriors wearily, still unsure what they were going to say about Spiritstar. She noticed Darkjay and his siblings worrying over Spiderbite, so she only assumed he wouldn’t be all that keen on going out. She noticed Hollypaw had finished her punishment chores, and she felt bad for the apprentice. Padding towards the elder’s den, she mewed. “Hollypaw? Would you like to come with your sister while I take her out for some training? Darkjay’s helping with the… situation in camp, so I can take you out instead.” She offered.

Heyo)
Rainpaw sat outside the apprentice's den as she waited for Starlingdust to take her out training, casting a couple of wary looks towards the ShadowClan warriors every now and then. Even though Spiderbite had said that it was fine, she couldn't help but feel a shiver of fear at the scary looking warriors.

Then I’ll be one step ahead of you in case something happens.” He offered. He slipped neatly around the apprentice to the trunk of the tree. He supposed he’d do it the more difficult way, for the sake of training. Going down the tree was always harder than going up. He shook the thought away - he was experienced. He couldn’t be showing doubt like a young apprentice. With another quick glance at Ledgepaw, he leaned down and hooked his front claws into the bark and clambered down to the branch below, grabbing it with one paw and easily extracting himself from the trunk onto it. “Go ahead!” He called.

Ledgepaw silently reminded himself to focus on his own paws, and he started by crouching. He reached his forepaws out, yelping quietly as his body stretched the length between the branches. He hobbled down to the branch, stopping himself from tumbling forwards and falling off completely. Tensely, he held onto the branch and took a few deep breaths.

Moonblazer Icefire15 Hollypaw glanced past Starlingdust at the Shadowclan cats, eyes narrowed. She might not have any deep affinity for "clan loyalty", but she still knew the reputation that Shadowclan cats held, and that was enough to make her wary of them. She perked up at the opportunity to leave camp. "Uh, yes, of course!" she scoffed, puffing out her chest with a smirk. "Anything to escape that horrible crowfood smell..." The apprentice snickered, leering at the outsiders as she trotted over to Rainpaw's side. She had always felt a special protectiveness over her timid kin--a sort of, "no one's allowed to pick on my littermate except for me!" protectiveness.

Starlingdust watched the two sisters interact as they padded out of camp. She thought fondly of her own relationship with her sister, Plumwillow. And then, her heart ached as she thought of Nettlesting. At one time, he had been just as eager as them to be a Skyclan Warrior. But as each day passed, Starlingdust could tell this life weighed down on him. While she didn’t hate him for choosing to leave the Clans, she did miss the life they once shared. Shaking the memory away, she mewed.
“We’ll go out towards the rocky slopes. The stones there are perfect for jumping. Have you gotten used to rocky slopes yet, Hollypaw?” She asked the apprentice, knowing her own, Rainpaw, had already come out here before.

The apprentice slipped through the branch pile marking the entrance to camp, continuing to pad down the cliffside path. "Are you sure we can't practice fighting?" Hollypaw bellyached, pouting her lower lip up at Starlingdust. All this angst that had been welling up inside her needed an outlet of some kind, and she was confident she could win against her sister in a sparring match. "Even kits know how to jump. I'm not a kit anymore!"
