“I like the way you think. The more we can do, the better.” Poppyclaw nodded his approval, before his eyes grew steely and steady once more. “We need to keep things as normal as possible. The other Clans cannot know yet that Spiritstar has…” He trailed off with a heavy sigh, before he rasped. “We need to find Whitesun, or appoint a new deputy.” Eaglenose nodded, unease sweeping through him. The clan was extremely vulnerable at the moment with no leader and no deputy and if the other clans found out, they may use it as an opportunity to use it against them. He nodded to Poppyclaw. "We'll be okay. SkyClan is full of strong and capable warriors." he assured him with faux confidence. "and I'm sure Whitesun will find his way home." he added, though that was a full lie. He didn't know anything of the sort and he was actually among the belief their deputy had already joined their ancestors - or perhaps dead and unable to join their ancestors from wherever he ended up. He tried not to let that show on his face. "Lead the way," he said.
(so do we leave to the other page now or not yet?) (We can go now! Let’s say they went to the Riverclan border, and hop to the border page!)

"ThunderClan cats would be jealous of this view." Willownose admired, knowing they wouldn't have strayed this deep into SkyClan territory despite their alliance. At Redspring's remark, she sighed. Any cat coming up here would be oblivious to the chaos below. "Do you ever wonder why darkness comes to SkyClan? Or to the Clans at all?" "It's okay." Firefang reassured softly. "We'll help our Clanmates together. Then, once we bring back peace, we'll have time some to relax and spend more time with each other. How's that?" he offered. “We have the misfortune of having one of the most evil cats in Clans history as our leader for moons. Robinstar’s hatred was stronger than Starclan, at one point. But we turned the tides. I guess that kind of hatred doesn’t just die.” Redspring growled, tail lashing. She looked at Willownose for a long moment. “I love you and Ashfeather too much to see you in danger. And I love Skyclan too much to give it up to hopelessness. I refuse.” “Sounds like a grand plan. Heroic, even.” Buzzardfall hummed, both with teasing yet also with open admiration for Firefang’a dedication to others. His selflessness always inspired her. “I’m in.” Willownose met Redspring's gaze with determined affection. "I refuse to give in to hate and fear. I have you and Ashfeather to thank for that." she purred, gazing back at the view of the cliffs. "And this? This, too, is worth loving." Firefang smiled and nodded, satisfied with her answer. "Heroic. We could use more of that in SkyClan." he murmured. "Should we start by gathering a border or hunting patrol? It looked like Poppyclaw was trying to organize things..."

MoonblazerEaglenose dropped down to his paws and looked back at the other tom. “Sounds good. I’ll climb, I’ll try to chase it down this way.” He said and he turned back to the tree, planting his front paws on the side again. He glanced back at the older warrior briefly and then scrambled up the trunk to the lowest branch. His front claws gripped the branch and he swung for a second before managing to drag himself all the way up. “Well, that could have gone better.” He muttered to himself and then looked up again for his next move. He could see the robin, not alerted yet, perched a few branches above his head.

"What a gift it is, to be a Skyclan cat." Redspring murmured, closing her eyes for a moment as she took in all of the things she loved most. Her eyes opened again, and she looked right at Willownose. "Let's see what else we can find out here to hunt. It'll lift everyone's sprits." "Poppyclaw seemed to take Eaglenose out, so it looks like he's content with what he's already sent out. I think that hunting might be the best bet." Buzzardfall offered. "I also think we can probably try and look for herbs that Spiderbite might need. He's going to be under alot of pressure, so we can help at least alleviate that task if we can." She offered.

Willownose took a steady, readying breath and nodded fiercely. "We're on a good pace, and the Clan will be happy to have something to eat without Whitesun to send patrols." she agreed. "Lead the way."
"I think I saw Willownose and Redspring slip away, too." Firefang remarked. It had started to clear out in the center of camp, with cats going their separate ways to help out or rest. "Maybe we can find some herbs. I don't think many cats would be doing that right now, and I'm sure Lavendersky would also appreciate it." he reasoned, unaware of the older medicine cat's current state of being.

Redspring crooned as she slipped past her best friend, eyes gleaming with a tease before she grew serious once more. "I want to see if we can get lucky with some mice at the Mouse Holes." She eyed the smooth cliff wall in the distance, where small crevices and caverns opened up along it's ledges. There were perfect spots to lay down and wait for the mice to inch out of their holes, or fish their paws in. "Collecting herbs it is! Let's be sure not to pick all of what we see, right? Or it won't grow back in newleaf. I think I heard Spiderbite saying that when he chewed the apprentices out for pulling up some of his Tansy." Buzzardfall grimaced at the memory, still remembering just how vicious the medicine cat apprentice could get when he was slighted or his herbs were messed up. She was determined to not let that happen. She purred. "And helping Lavendersky is the least we can do for all she's done for us."

Firefang bristled in faux fear. "The last thing I want is Spiderbite chewing me out! He's got enough to deal with right now." the tom laughed. "Do you know what we should be looking for? I promise I'll be careful."

No. It was still sitting, blissfully unaware of the two hunters planning its demise. He looked to his left and noted a branch on the other side of the trunk. He’d need to get higher from that side lest he scare it away. Eaglenose positioned himself at the very end of the branch, his pelt brushing the trunk closely, and then leapt - contorting his body the best he could and snagging onto the other branch, clambering up and shaking out his fur. That was cleaner than his initial climb. With a nod of satisfaction to himself, Eaglenose worked his way up the next few branches until he glanced across and could see his prey just across from him. The Tom dropped into a crouch and crept to the end of his branch until he could leap across. He hesitated, glancing down to make sure Poppyclaw was in position, and then took a flying leap. His outstretched claws barely missed the bird as it took off in fright and flew straight down to the awaiting warrior - but that is what Eaglenose had intended. He hadn’t been trying to grab it, only scare it. He crouched and hung his forepaws over the side of the branch, holding onto it only by his hind claws, and watched to see if his clanmate successfully finished the kill.

Last time I learned about herbs of any kind, I only really recall like Marigold, and Milkweed. Marigold treats injuries, and Milkweed… uh… oh! Soothes burns! That can help, I know some cats still have bad burns. They’re gonna hurt for a while. Let’s start with those.” Buzzardfall decided, leaping up the ledges until she could see the walkable top of the cliff that overlooked camp. “The closer we are to the sun, the more herbs grow!”

Muscles bunching, Poppyclaw sprang out of the underbrush in a high leap. His claws snagged the bird’s wings in the air, as gravity did the rest of the work for him. He bit the robin’s neck as soon as he landed, holding up the kill with a breathless nod of assurance to the tom in the tree.

Eaglenose scuffed the ground with his paw at the other warrior's words and bit back a growl. Did he have to say anything? he thought to himself bitterly. After a second, he looked at the tom with a short nod. "Yeah, I misjudged the distance," he explained and then turned his gaze to the bird. It was true, the thing was tiny and would hardly fill the belly of the biggest kit in the nursery, but it was better than nothing. He shrugged and turned away, his eyes turning up to the trees again. "Let's see what else we can find."

As the vigil progressed onwards, the moment finally came for Lichengaze to climb down from the elder’s den. Skyclan’s only elder seemed keen on making sure he gave Spiritstar and Silvercloud a proper burial. He leaned down to touch his muzzle to their heads, before he looked out at his Clanmates.
“Is anyone willing to assist me? I’ll understand if any of you say no… this is always the hardest part.” He rasped with deep sympathy for his younger Clanmates.

Hollypaw grumbled annoyed as she dragged a bundle of soiled moss from the elders den. She was assigned to changing the elders' bedding for being caught trying to sneak out of patrol duties yesterday. Her whole body seethed with injustice, a disgusted scowl pressed across her tiny face. This treatment was so unfair! Why should she be punished for being young and restless? It's natural--especially when border patrols with your annoying littermates are such a drag! She stopped a few paces into the camp clearing, dropping the bundle from her mouth and spitting the putrid flavor from her palate. "Foxdung, why do we even keep these bone-bags alive? All they do is ramble nonsense and make dirt on themselves..." she muttered to herself, side-eyeing the elder's den. “You still moping?” Ledgepaw tipped his head as he padded past his sister, glancing up towards the elder’s den. He was clearly still sombered by Spiritstar’s death, but he seemed keen to stay close to his siblings for the time being. “You could have just not snuck out, you know?” Hollypaw bristled at Ledgepaw's words. Mr Goody-Two-Paws knew so much better than her, did he? "And YOU could have just kept your mouth shut about it!" she retorted, recalling he was actually the one who told Darkjay about her scheme. "It's not my fault that I need time to myself sometimes...But I guess I can't have that." She snorted, wincing as she grabbed the bundle again and began to drag.

Firefang followed along Buzzardfall, already feeling like he was going to make a difference by collecting these herbs. With Leafbare approaching soon, they'd need all the help they could get.

Sandspirit glanced at Basilpaw and gave a small purr, "Lavendersky has always been like this. Mom told us that few would ever leave the medicine den without a good scolding. I certainly know that first-paw." Lavendersky tipped her head a bit towards Sandspirit, "That's because... you are just as... prone to injury... as your father..." she grumped at her. "So I've been told." Sandspirit huffed, shaking her head. “Wingpaw says the medicine cats are too grumpy, but I just think it means they take their jobs very seriously. I don’t mind it at all.” Basilpaw sniffed his sadness away, content to just be there for Lavendersky’s comfort. He looked at Sandspirit with appreciation. “You’re super kind for helping out. I’d like to be as selfless as you.” He decided. "Wingpaw is... correct. Us medicine cats are... are always grumpy. We have to listen... to grown cat whining... like little kits all... all day." Lavendersky meowed, settling back into her nest. Sandspirit looked at Basilpaw, "Kind? Selfless?" She asked, unsure what he meant by all that. "Lavendersky is an elder, who wouldn't help out? And my brother is the current medicine cat, so of course I'd want to help him. He's got enough going on right now."

Rather, he moved to bury the robin before he nodded. “I’d offer we try near Jagged Drop, though I know I’ll want to just investigate Spiritstar and Warblerwind’s deaths, more than hunt…” He sighed heavily. Eaglenose glanced back at him. “Hm, if you think we’ll have good luck there it’s worth a shot.” He said, then dropped his pace to walk beside Poppyclaw, flicking his tail over his ear sympathetically. “I understand the impulse to try and figure it out. But it won’t feed the clan.” He said, trying for a gentler tone.

“With prey-maulers, and our dead leader? No, probably not the best time to sneak out.” Ledgepaw snapped firmly, tail lashing as he huffed. “And anytime you and Sunnypaw do these kinds of things, I get associated with it even if I never do anything!” He rolled his eyes, before his ears fell. “Skyclan’s a mess right now. We need to be our best.”

“I’ll be the first to lash my tongue at any bird-brain that needs it.” Redspring snorted as she padded quietly along the Mouse Holes. She lifted her tail, pointing to a good spot two ledges up. “That spot works. High enough that the mice won’t expect hunters.” “Okay, so. “The closer we are to the sun, the more herbs grow!” "Let's give it a shot." Willownose sprang up the ledges with ease. StarClan, was she ever thankful for her strong legs. The she-cat moved into position downwind of the hole, ensuring her scent wouldn't drift into it. She flexed her claws in anticipation as she waited, giving Redspring a wink. "I'll trust your insight. Just tell me what they look like, and I'll find 'em!" Firefang followed along Buzzardfall, already feeling like he was going to make a difference by collecting these herbs. With Leafbare approaching soon, they'd need all the help they could get. “Thank Starclan for this cliff wall. Easiest hunting a cat can ask for.” Redspring rumbled with contentment, laying down on her belly as she inspected the crevices in the wall. So far, she only detected a faint mouse scent. Maybe one was close by. “Well. Marigold is a yellow, orange kind of flower. Fits the name. So let’s start with that!” Buzzardfall offered, glancing around. “I’m glad some things got to grow back, before leafbare could come…”

He's got enough going on right now." “I imagine how frustrating that would be.” Basilpaw assured Lavendersky, before he blinked owlishly at Sandspirit and shook his head lightly. “You’d be surprised, how many of the other apprentices would complain about this. About helping in the medicine den, or caring for elders. So, I’d say it’s worth noting that a Warrior like you is doing it the right way.”
