Lavendersky tipped her head some as she heard the soft pawsteps of a small cat. Apprentice, most likely. Sniffing the air, she recognized the scent of Basilpaw, and gave a soft sigh. Another cat to come and bother her. "What Spiritstar said?" She asked, giving a small snort. "I have... never cared what o-others said." She rumbled, her the tip of her tail barely twitching. "Robinwing's words... are nothing... I care not." She didn't particularly care if anyone missed her either, she was nothing more than a rogue medicine cat.

That name was familiar, though he knew that she was more well known as Robinstar. Surely… surely it hadn’t been Robinstar speaking. How could she possibly have spoken through Spiritstar? Swallowing down his newfound fear, he focused on Lavendersky once more. “You might not have cared what others said, but I know you cared about us. Spiderbite ran out of camp. Is he getting something for you?” He asked, before he asked. “Can I get you anything?”

Lavendersky gave a soft sigh, "Once you... tread the cold Dark Forest... You can never truly leave." She meowed dully, remembering days long past. She shook her head after a moment, refocusing on the present. Her voice gruff, hard to get out entirely. "That fool of an apprentice... He took an... old cat's wish to heart... He will be back, perhaps... with a few tufts of... of fur missing." She snorted, knowing he was way to sharp-tongued to ask such a request delicately.

Willownose closed the gap between her and Redspring right as they reached the top. She gave a huff and regained her footing, looking back at the she-cat with a victorious smirk. "I never mess around when it comes to my climbing and jumping skills. What kind of SkyClan cat would I be?" "No! Buzzardfall, wait." Firefang quickly added, taking a step forward. "Please don't feel bad. I know you didn't mean that. But I do think we should take things slow." he consoled. He didn't want her to run away from him in guilt! "That's all. SkyClan needs us, you know?" "A pretty rotten one, that's for sure. May as well just join Thunderclan and play pretend with your trees." Redspring scoffed with a smirk, before she looked down across the territory with a long and slow breath. "It always seems so peaceful up here, even when I know it's anything but down below. Soothing, in a way. Just for a little while." She admitted, terse yet honest per usual. Buzzardfall stopped, still warm with embarrassment as she nodded quickly. "Yeah, yeah, no, I get what you're saying. It's the right thing to do, really. I'm used to jumping headfirst into these things, so... this is new to me, but for you, that's worth it." She assured, looking up at Firefang as she pushed her embarrassment away. "I know. Skyclan does need us." "ThunderClan cats would be jealous of this view." Willownose admired, knowing they wouldn't have strayed this deep into SkyClan territory despite their alliance. At Redspring's remark, she sighed. Any cat coming up here would be oblivious to the chaos below. "Do you ever wonder why darkness comes to SkyClan? Or to the Clans at all?" "It's okay." Firefang reassured softly. "We'll help our Clanmates together. Then, once we bring back peace, we'll have time some to relax and spend more time with each other. How's that?" he offered.

He chuckled weakly. “That does sound like Spiderbite. He’s got a sharp tongue, but knowing he’d do this for you, I know he’s got the best kind of heart. We… we’ll make it through.” He decided, forcing his fear away to let determination in. For now, he had to find a way to convince the Clan that Spiritstar wasn’t who she said she was in her last days of life. And if that was the case, them Warblerwind couldn’t have attacked his mother.

But we turned the tides. I guess that kind of hatred doesn’t just die.” Redspring growled, tail lashing. She looked at Willownose for a long moment. “I love you and Ashfeather too much to see you in danger. And I love Skyclan too much to give it up to hopelessness. I refuse.” “Sounds like a grand plan. Heroic, even.” Buzzardfall hummed, both with teasing yet also with open admiration for Firefang’a dedication to others. His selflessness always inspired her. “I’m in.”

"Basil...paw." Lavendersky meowed, turning to face him, her two different colored eyes seeming to stare despite the common knowledge that she could not see. "Do not... risk your fur for a... dangerous tale. Many believe the days of Adderclan... are over... It has never... ended." She meowed weakly, coughing from the talking. "Few will listen... to what an apprentice says. Many believe I... have lost my wits. I may be soon to walk Starclan...but I am no mouse-brain."

"Few will listen... to what an apprentice says. Many believe I... have lost my wits. I may be soon to walk Starclan...but I am no mouse-brain." Basilpaw bit his lip. Lavendersky wasn’t wrong. Who would take the word of a lone apprentice? But, as he looked at the old medicine cat, and he thought of the hollowness he always saw in his mother’s eyes, the realization that the Dark Forest had tainted his own Uncle, he refused to be helpless when cats before had suffered through so much more. “I believe you, Lavendersky. Even if nobody else does, I do. I may not have been there for Adderclan, but I can be here now. I’ll find cats to listen, no matter what it takes.” He paused, before he asked lightly. “The Clan believes that Warblerwind killed Spiritstar. Pushed her off Jagged Drop. Do you… do you believe he would have done that?” He wanted to know if Lavendersky too was sure that Warblerwind had probably confronted someone else. But if that was the case, then… how would Warblerwind have known it wasn’t Spiritstar?

"I do not... know." Lavendersky rumbled, having lost touch with the clan affairs some moons ago. She remained in the medicine den, her legs unable to hold her up any longer.
Sandspirit poked her head into the den, having remained close-by while Ambergaze and Darkjay went on patrols. Generally, of the three, they left her in camp thanks to her unusual bad-luck streaks. "Spiritstar has been acting funny lately. It wasn't hard to tell something was weird." She meowed, looking at the apprentice. She had been born just before the end of the war, but she knew all the stories. "Mom told us a lot of what to look for if someone was following the Dark Forest. But she also warned us that as time went on, fewer and fewer cats would believe us if we said anything. If we say to much, we could be blamed for something horrible. Just like Lavendersky's brother."
Lavendersky gave a soft sigh, "Cliffheart... had no part... in what happened... But he had betrayed... The Dark Forest..."

Lavendersky gave a soft sigh, "Cliffheart... had no part... in what happened... But he had betrayed... The Dark Forest..." Basilpaw startled a little bit, though he relaxed quickly as Sandspirit voiced her experience. Nightsky’s recent passing had been difficult on the Clan as well. Dreamlily’s grief had pierced Basilpaw’s heart when she had been the only victim of the poisoned prey besides Spiritstar. Basilpaw still felt guilty that he had survived while she had not. Even so, it was the she-cat’s words that really struck him. “So you noticed it.” He mumbled, before he decided that there was no reason to fear hiding it anymore. “Sandspirit, when I was in the den a few days ago from the poisoned prey, I overheard Spiritstar threatening Lavendersky. She… she said some horrible things, and it was like she was someone else entirely. She threatened me when she saw I overheard. She… she said that because I had kin who followed the Dark Forest, that they would come for me and my siblings… my mother, next, if I spoke to anyone. I was afraid… but, I don’t think that was Spiritstar at all.” He looked nervous. “Is that crazy? How can a cat become another cat? It sounds so crazy!” He swallowed.

"It's not impossible..." Lavendersky meowed as she listened to Basilpaw. "As Starclan... gives prophecies through dreams... and even weather... so to can the... Dark Forest affect us." She meowed, giving a soft sigh. "Spiritstar once walked...Within the Dark Forest... Many many moons ago... and as Robinwing is her sister... It is not hard to imagine." She still refused to call her Robinstar, even to this day.
Sandspirit sat down where she was, tail curled around her paws as she watched Lavendersky. She was a dutiful sister, taking care while Spiderbite was away. "She tells the truth, both Lavendersky, and the false Spiritstar." She said softly, glancing outside. "Dad was killed because mom strayed from the Dark Forest's path. We never got to meet him because of it. None of us followed mom's path, because she warned us how scary it was."

Basilpaw wilted with nervousness at what he was hearing. While he had been told of the Dark Forest and Adderclan as a kit, he didn’t expect it to have been this crazy. Dreams were one thing, but affecting cats in the living world while being dead and in the Dark Forest? That sounded horrifying! He looked at Sandspirit, guilt in his eyes as he mewed. “My uncle, Goldfire? It really was true that he was tempted by the Dark Forest. Mom doesn’t talk about it alot, but she too was really affected by it. But… one thing I asked her was if this thing ever happened before. She said that when Skyclan was grieving Silversting’s death, that when that Shadowclan Warrior killed her, he tried to say that it wasn’t actually him that did it. That… something made him. I know that sounds like an excuse for murder, and that we still don’t like seeing him at gatherings but…” He hesitated, not sure if he could say it without them thinking he was tarnishing Silversting’s murder. “Do you think… that maybe, he wasn’t fully lying?”

"He was not." Lavendersky said gruffly. "The Dark Forest... is a cruel place... They threaten, they harm... they care for nothing... but their own gain." She rumbled, trying to get to her paws. Sandspirit saw it and gave a small hiss, rushing over and letting the old medicine cat lean on her. "Cliffheart, at the time Cliffpaw... Would often wake with... many wounds on his body... No explanation why... He tried to protect his siblings... And I was not there to guide them... I had already left the nest... following Eaglecry like a lost chick." She sighed softly, partially blaming herself, though she knew she could have never stopped it.
"Mom would wake up with scratches too, even when we were still kits." Sandspirit mewed, looking at the ground.

Sandspirit mewed, looking at the ground. Basilpaw’s eyes widened. If Lavendersky said it was true, the Clans’ most wise medicine cat, then surely it had to be. This had happened before, and yet nobody was believing it! He stood up quickly as Lavendersky stumbled up, watching Sandspirit support her. “So that’s why Cliffheart was the one that came here when the fire happened…” Basilpaw realized, knowing now that the Shadowclan tom’s connection ran deeper than roots to Skyclan. Cliffheart and Cardinalblaze had selflessly helped Skyclan that day. Basilpaw would never forget that. He looked at Lavendersky with a sudden understanding. “That’s who Spiderbite ran off to get, isn’t it? Without Spiritstar… he’s the only one left. He’ll come. He has to come!” He exclaimed, heart aching at the thought of Spiderbite coming back too late.

Sandspirit looked over at Lavendersky sadly. Her life was an insane story, and no one seemed to have a happy ending in it.
Lavendersky gave a small, broken snort, "I told him... it wasn't... needed." She grumbled, coughing as she had been speaking for some time. "For all I know... He has already joined Starclan... I doubt he wants to... to see me." She said with a small tip of her head. "Honestly... I should go and... and get that foolish apprentice... of mine."
Sandspirit sniffed and shook her head, "Lavendersky... You can barely stand on your two paws. There is no way you'd be able to make it from here to Shadowclan and back again. You'd never even hear a monster coming with your hearing either."

If Lavendersky had a bond like that with Cliffheart, then surely he’d want to see her too. He moved to help Sandspirit try and dissuade her from attempting to move. The apprentice mewed with a sense of hope. “Spiderbite would never give up. One way or another, he’s got to get Cliffheart to you. All you’ve done for Skyclan, you deserve to go getting your last wish…” He mewed, saddened that there was no denying she was going to Starclan soon. What could they possibly tell the already shattered Clan?

"I have done little... in the long... history of the... the clan. I merely... spoke my truth... to those that would defy... our clan." She grumped.
Sandspirit gave a small sigh, "Lavendersky, you're going to hurt your throat at this rate..." She mumbled.

He tucked around her nest, making sure that her moss was soft and comfortable as she was laid back down. “You’ve done more than you could ever imagine. I know I haven’t been alive all that long… but you’ve been there my entire life. You’ll always be special to Skyclan. Thank you, for taking care of us all.” He murmured, respectful and heartbroken.

Sandspirit glanced at Basilpaw and gave a small purr, "Lavendersky has always been like this. Mom told us that few would ever leave the medicine den without a good scolding. I certainly know that first-paw."
Lavendersky tipped her head a bit towards Sandspirit, "That's because... you are just as... prone to injury... as your father..." she grumped at her.
"So I've been told." Sandspirit huffed, shaking her head.

I don’t mind it at all.” Basilpaw sniffed his sadness away, content to just be there for Lavendersky’s comfort. He looked at Sandspirit with appreciation. “You’re super kind for helping out. I’d like to be as selfless as you.” He decided.

Eaglenose | open to interaction ~Eaglenose stretched his grey furred limbs and arched his back, glancing around the camp. He was sitting at the lowest point of the camp, having just finished his meal of a puny mouse. He took another look around camp, looking for someone to chat or patrol with. He wouldn't be upset with a stroll around the territory, or a chance to go for a border patrol. Eaglenose padded over to sit by the Rock Pile, his tail swishing on the ground behind him as he stared around.

Hollypaw grumbled annoyed as she dragged a bundle of soiled moss from the elders den. She was assigned to changing the elders' bedding for being caught trying to sneak out of patrol duties yesterday. Her whole body seethed with injustice, a disgusted scowl pressed across her tiny face. This treatment was so unfair! Why should she be punished for being young and restless? It's natural--especially when border patrols with your annoying littermates are such a drag! She stopped a few paces into the camp clearing, dropping the bundle from her mouth and spitting the putrid flavor from her palate. "Foxdung, why do we even keep these bone-bags alive? All they do is ramble nonsense and make dirt on themselves..." she muttered to herself, side-eyeing the elder's den.

He nodded once. “Since we’re leaderless and deputyless for the time being, the Senior Warriors are I are helping to make patrols. Care to come with me on a quick border patrol? Or would a hunt fancy you more?” He asked gruffly.

He knew that was a lot, and the older warrior may not want to extend the patrol for so long, but it was only an idea. He was full of energy at the moment, so much so it was making his limbs ache at the thought of exercising them. "But I'm not particular." He added.

The clan was extremely vulnerable at the moment with no leader and no deputy and if the other clans found out, they may use it as an opportunity to use it against them. He nodded to Poppyclaw. "We'll be okay. SkyClan is full of strong and capable warriors." he assured him with faux confidence. "and I'm sure Whitesun will find his way home." he added, though that was a full lie. He didn't know anything of the sort and he was actually among the belief their deputy had already joined their ancestors - or perhaps dead and unable to join their ancestors from wherever he ended up. He tried not to let that show on his face. "Lead the way," he said.
