Skyflight took a moment to give her respects before she padded quietly back toward the camp entrance to wait for the rest of the patrol. Her tail flicked anxiously as she thought about what they might find in the twolegplace. What if they just came back with more bodies?

Quickwing waited for the patrol to gather. She suddenly felt nervous. What if this didn’t go well? What if they just got more kits killed? She pushed her thoughts away before speaking. “Ready to go?” She asked before stepping towards the camp entrance.

"That's what they claim at least. He was allowed to come back from his banishment with little to no repercussions so something must have been going on." Shadespots replied. "Nothing like that had ever happened before, I don't know how they do it. Or how Goldberry managed to stop it if that's truly what happened." Springpaw shook her head slowly, "We should focus on the vigil and start mourning. We're both still here, I guess it's time to gather ourselves and move on. Warblerwind is gone, I have to accept that for the clan's sake. I'm sorry I upset you Wingpaw." “That was him?” Basilpaw exclaimed, eyes wide as he mewed. “But… but, he looked so… normal, at the gathering! Was that why everyone was avoiding him?” He asked, before he perked up. “Maybe we can ask him what happened, and see if that’s what happened to Spiritstar!” He offered, possibly too optimistic for his own good. “Nah, I’m the one that’s sorry.” Wingpaw shook his head, looking a bit shyly at Springpaw. “I really hate upsetting you in any way, ya know?” Shadespots frowned, "I don't know if he even knows what happened. And it might draw too much attention to the situation, especially if it's in the middle of the gathering. Other cats may call us crazy if they hear were were claiming our own leader was possessed by some evil spirit or something." "Yeah me too." Springpaw replied quietly. She moved forward to bump their shoulders together with a mustered smile. "Let's go say our goodbyes. Spiritstar was the only leader we ever knew, it's only right."

He beamed, despite the ache at his chest, due to their many losses, recently. There is always a light in the dark. He thought. "You are, too, Wildstorm," he mewed. "And you're doing great," “Now you’re just flattering me.” Wildstorm humored, though he ruffled his paw along Acepaw’s head, before he mewed. “It’s going to be a long vigil. Would you like to pay your respects? I can come with you.” He offered. He nodded. "Yes. I'd like to say goodbye to them one last time, before they join Starclan," he rose back to his paws and headed over to the bodies. He bowed his head

Brightsky nodded to Quickwing, then glanced at Emberpaw. She was the only apprentice on the patrol and Brightsky couldn't help but admire her bravery.

(Thanks!) Flyingpaw glanced over at Twigpaw and her mother when they padded over. Splashecho padded over to her mate and smiled softly in response to his smile. She settled next to him. "I'm going to miss her," she mewed softly. "I didn't think we'd get along very well when I first join the Clan, but she became a good friend and I'm glad she's my aunt." Sparrowstrike seemed to relax as Splashecho settled beside him, "She was a good leader. She did well for the clan, I'm glad she got to lead us for so many moons. I just wish she had a more peaceful end." Twigpaw held eye contact with Flyingpaw for a moment before looking away, refusing to speak with her. Splashecho nodded in agreement, but she kept her voice low. "She died too young, but perhaps her successor will be better equipped to protect us unlike Spiritstar." Flyingpaw tilted her head curiously at Twigpaw, unsure why he gave her such a strange look. She didn't dwell on it though and bowed her head to hold vigil.

Splashecho glanced at her mate. "From everything. The other Clans, the Dark Forest, for StarClan's sake, even the traitors within." She shot a narrowed look at the camp entrance as if glaring at Nettlesting. "I want a leader who's going to help keep us safe. I don't want to lose our kits like we've losing everyone else."

What it it happens again?” He mewed. “Right.” Wingpaw nodded, relieved that he could see her faint smile again. He padded at her side over towards Spiritstar and Silvercloud, though his eyes trailed over to where all of Springpaw’s family was. He didn’t seem to be fond of Splashecho these days, and the odd looks she and Twigpaw gave him lately. He scowled stubbornly, instead looking at the leader and senior warrior.

I’ll hold off on quick’s patrol for a minute)
Bloodrime watched the events un fold in the center of camp. He stayed quiet. Losing the cats was certainly devestating. Was Spiritstar right though? Had starclan abandoned them? He looked towards the sky. Did he even truly believe in heavenly cats in the sky?

"No... not Whitesun. Not after all he's done for us." Firefang sighed, wondering what was going on between Spiritstar and Warblerwind right now. "We have to go look for him. But who can organize a search?" he mewed, feeling a sense of resolve. Even though Silvercloud was gone, he could still try and find the missing warriors. "If it's anyone, it would be either a Senior Warrior, or Snowtalon. I can't imagine he would give up Whitesun without trying to search." Buzzardfall looked over at where Snowtalon and Tricklefrost were talking. She knew that Snowtalon must have been struck horribly knowing his brother could be in danger. She would have done anything to find him, had it been Sunfury that had been taken or killed in Twolegplace. Firefang looked like he wanted to join the patrol, but he figured Quickwing and the other warriors were in better shape than himself. He glanced at Buzzardfall in relief. "I'm glad Quickwing's here to take initiative with all this panic... what happens if we don't find Whitesun?" Willownose paced between Redspring and Ashfeather. "Thank StarClan some cats here still have some sense. How could we leave our deputy after losing our leader?" she growled. "And where did Spiderbite just run off to?" Pheasantcry quietly paid her respects to Spiritstar. It was the end of an era for SkyClan, and she feared for what was to come. The signs of darkness were growing more than ever - she was deeply familiar with AdderClan's rise. Chaos leads to more chaos, she thought.

Seeing Bloodrime looking so odd, Sunnypaw approached him slowly, her eyes flickering with confusion and hesitance. “Bloodrime?… What’s going on? Spiritstar was just fine earlier and now…”

Heyo. Gonna throw Blackfire in with the patrol too if that’s cool)
Hawkpaw followed after Emberpaw silently, glad that they would be going after their parents after all.
Blackfire padded up to her sister, giving a small flick of her ear, “I’ll join you as well.” She mewed, not planning on taking no for an answer.

Here are some other reactions) Blackfire scowled, her tail lashing at the thought of Warblerwind betraying his mother like that. Could he really do something like this? She saw the look on her sister's face, but what if Plumwillow had a point? Maybe they misheard or didn't hear everything that had been said. Firescorch gave a low growl, his eyes still on Spiritstar's body. This must be yet another punishment from StarClan! It had to be! Spiritstar turned her back on StarClan and not even two heartbeats later, she's dead! Shadowmask watched everything going on with her ears flat against her head, the growing tension between her Clanmates starting to make her nervous. This tension and anger was just how AdderClan first started to grow, she remembered it clearly. Spotteddawn padded towards the elder's den, wanting to check on her father as well as seek some comfort from him. It was hard to believe that Spiritstar was actually gone! She had been leader since she was a young kit, and now she was gone! "Lichengaze?" She mewed, looking into the den for her father. The queen's belly was only just starting to show signs of her second litter, and she dreaded the thought of bringing them into such uncertain times. Sundapple looked at both Silvercloud and Spiritstar with grief in her eyes, mourning the losses that SkyClan had suffered today. She shook her head, not wanting to believe that Warblerwind would do such a thing to his own mother. He had always adored her! Why would he do such a thing? Seedflight wrapped her tail over her young kits, pulling them closer to her belly as she watched from the nursery entrance, "That traitor! How could Warblerwind do this?! To his own mother?!" She hissed, fur bristling in anger. Rainpaw shrank back as the Clan started yelling and arguing again, her ears flat against her head as she watched. Was Spiritstar really dead? But didn't everyone say that she had nine lives?! How could that have been her last one already? Lichengaze slowly stood from his nest. He had known what had happened, and the grief had struck him fiercely. He narrowed his eyes though, knowing exactly what kind of trickery the Dark Forest could pull to destroy faith in Starclan. He looked at his daughter, his voice rasped as he mewed. "Spiderbite's right, you know. We cannot lose faith in Starclan, not ever again. This is only the beginning. Do you understand that? Only the beginning, all over again." He paced lightly, before he sighed deeply. "Tonight I bury two of my closest friends, and the cats I came to respect more than anyone."

Now, all he could do was remain faithful, and do it right this time. He wrapped his tail around his daughter’s shoulders. “One way, sooner or later, Starclan guides us in the way we need. If you want to ask him about it you can but you need to make sure it is quiet and away from other cats." Ashfeather looked between the she-cats still uncomfortable with all the chaos occurring around them. "It must be important if he ran off in a moment like this right? I saw Frigidshard run after him, so at least he's not alone." He said with a nervous laugh, knowing Frigidshard was probably the worst option to keep Spiderbite safe.
