That's kinda shitty of them. I know friends are supposed to support each other and all, but you're not their therapist. If needs must, you could help direct them in that direction, even if you need to do so bluntly. Otherwise, metaphorically, everyone in the neighborhood is going to continue dumping their garbage in your backyard, hoping you will throw it away for them.

i know it sounds bad, but im kinda glad they started seeing someone immediately? i feel like you kinda needed that to see how much of a d*ckhead they actually are. like it validates your perspective on the relationship and proves you were definitely not responsible for its failure like you originally felt.

As apocalypses don't have a set day to mark the beginning of the event (you could be living in one and never know about it until much later, provided noticeable changes happen within your lifetime), the same can be true for culture wars. The U.S. federal government has just butchered democracy and has openly declared that the only right message is for white Christian extremists. I reject that message.

Edit: The message may be drafted towards certain religious people, but there's practicality in it for the lawmakers. Gotta keep the prisons full, as well as shit jobs, the streets filled with homeless (until something is "done about them"), the foster care system in shambles, soldiers and ditch diggers too. All in the name of power and profit.

So the post office person drove their truck right past my house and 5 minutes later I got a notification informing me my delivery was unsuccessful because I wasn't at home.

People are going to talk about it regardless, so it might as be within a contained environment. Besides, aside from some exceptions, I trust that everyone here is on the same page with this topic. If anything, it would be a vent thread in and of itself.
